Abstract

To selectively exclude articles when transferring articles from one piece of conveying means to another piece of conveying means.SOLUTION: An article transfer device includes first conveyance means 10 for conveying articles W, detection means 20 capable of detecting passage of the articles at a predetermined position on the first conveyance means, second conveyance means 40 arranged after the first conveyance means, transfer means 30 that is arranged after the first conveyance means and before the second conveyance means, and is capable of transferring articles from the first conveyance means to the second conveyance means, and a discharge path 50 disposed downstream of the first conveyance means, the transfer means acquires articles from the first conveyance means and transfers them to the second conveyance means in the normal state where the detection means detects that the articles have passed properly, and the transfer means does not acquire articles from the first conveyance means or transfer it to the second conveyance means in an irregular state where the detection means detects that the articles have not passed properly, and the articles are discharged from the first conveyance means to the discharge path.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
