Abstract

To set a continuous vascular lumen region even when a part of the vascular lumen region is not visualized.SOLUTION: A medical image processing apparatus according to an embodiment includes an extracting unit, and an estimating unit. The extracting unit is configured to extract a first vascular lumen region and a blood flow blocked region out of a medical image about a blood vessel. The estimating unit is configured to assume the first vascular lumen region and the blood flow blocked region to be vascular candidate regions, and, in the case with the first vascular lumen region being blocked by the blood flow blocked region in the vascular candidate regions, estimate a second vascular lumen region which complements a blocked range of the first vascular lumen region within the blood flow blocked region.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
