Abstract

To provide a cooling tower which can enhance the reliability of water spraying while securing the homogeneity of water spraying to a filling material, and can enhance the efficiency of work such as maintenance by having a water spray part for spraying water to a filling material as a fixed-type simple water spray mechanism.SOLUTION: A plurality of fixed-type water spray pipes 41 are arrayed in an upper part of a tower body 10 as a water spray part 40 for a filling material 20. A water distribution tank 30 having an atmospheric air release structure is arranged on an inlet side of the water spray pipe 41, and circulation water which has been once introduced into the water distribution tank 30 is made to flow into the water spray pipes 41 and water spraying to the filling material 20 is performed as a natural flow. Thus, supply of circulation water to the water spray pipes 41 from the water distribution tank 30 and water spraying from the water spray pipes 41 are nof affected by variations in a flow of circulation water which is made to flow back to a cooling tower. Even with the water spray pipes in a fixed state, circulation water can reach each part of a preset filling material to be water-sprayed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
