AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Conventional packaging materials made from different resin materials are difficult to recycle due to their composition, lacking both strength, heat resistance, and recyclability, and often require additional layers for barrier properties.

Method used

A laminate composed of a polyethylene-based substrate, adhesive layers, and a heat-seal layer, optionally with intermediate layers and vapor-deposited films, particularly aluminum vapor-deposited films, to create a packaging material with high polyethylene content for improved strength, heat resistance, and recyclability, while enhancing barrier properties.

Benefits of technology

The laminate achieves a packaging material with sufficient strength, heat resistance, and recyclability, along with excellent barrier properties, particularly oxygen and water vapor barriers, by utilizing polyethylene-based layers and vapor-deposited films.

Abstract

To provide a laminate that can realize a packaging material having sufficient strength, heat resistance and barrier properties applicable to packaging materials and the like, and also having excellent recyclability. [Solution] In a first embodiment of the present invention, the laminate comprises a substrate, an adhesive layer, and a heat-sealing layer, the substrate and the heat-sealing layer being made of polyethylene, a vapor-deposited film being provided at least either between the substrate and the adhesive layer or between the heat-sealing layer and the adhesive layer, and the substrate being a stretched film made of polyethylene.
