[0012] <<Powder Cosmetic>> The powder cosmetic of the present invention (hereinafter also referred to as "the cosmetic of the present invention") is a powder cosmetic comprising 80 to 99% by mass of a powder component and 1 to 20% by mass of an oily component, and comprises the following component (A) and at least one of the following components (B) and (C) as the powder components: Component (A): hollow silica particles having an average particle size of 1 to 10 μm, Component (B): solid silica particles having an average particle size of 2 to 7 μm, Component (C): porous silica particles having an average particle size of 1 to 30 μm.
[0013] <Powder Component> The cosmetic of the present invention contains a powder component. The content of the powder component in the cosmetic of the present invention may be 80% by mass or more, 85% by mass or more, 90% by mass or more, or 95% by mass or more, or may be 99% by mass or less, based on the total amount of the cosmetic.
[0014] Through extensive research, the present inventors have found that the effects of the present invention can be achieved by using two or more types of specific silica particles in combination as the powder component, and further that the effects of the present invention can be further enhanced by using three or more types of specific silica particles in combination.
[0015] More specifically, in the present invention, the cosmetic of the present invention contains, as powder components, the following component (A) and at least one of the following components (B) and (C), and from the viewpoint of further exerting the effects of the present invention, it is preferable that the cosmetic of the present invention contains the following components (A), (B), and (C): Component (A): hollow silica particles having an average particle size of 1 to 10 μm, Component (B): solid silica particles having an average particle size of 2 to 7 μm, Component (C): porous silica particles having an average particle size of 1 to 30 μm.
[0016] (Component (A)) In the present invention, component (A) refers to hollow silica particles having an average particle size of 1 to 10 μm. Such hollow silica particles are particularly effective in imparting a light and smooth feel to powder cosmetics. In the present invention, hollow silica particles refer to silica particles having a silica shell and a hollow core.
[0017] The shape of the hollow silica particles is not particularly limited as long as they are hollow particles, and may be, for example, spherical, cubic, rugby ball-shaped, rod-shaped, spindle-shaped, columnar, tubular, sheet-shaped, or a combination thereof. Among these, spherical shapes are preferred, because their shape allows them to roll on the skin when applied, thereby improving the light feel of the particles.
[0018] In the present invention, the hollow silica particles as component (A) may have an average particle size of 1 μm or more, 2 μm or more, 3 μm or more, or 4 μm or more, and may have an average particle size of 10 μm or less, 8 μm or less, 6 μm or less, or 4 μm or less.
[0019] In the present invention, the average particle size of the silica particles can be determined as an average particle size converted into volume by a measurement method using a laser light scattering method.
[0020] In the present invention, the porosity of the hollow silica particles is not particularly limited, but may be, for example, 20% or more, 30% or more, 50% or more, or 80% or more, and may be 95% or less, or 90% or less.
[0021] In the present invention, the oil absorption of the hollow silica particles is not particularly limited, and may be, for example, 10 ml / 100 g or more, 30 ml / 100 g or more, or 50 ml / 100 g or more, and may be 100 ml / 100 g or less, or 80 ml / 100 g or less.
[0022] In the present invention, the oil absorption of silica particles is determined by kneading the particles with a metal spatula while adding a certain amount of squalane (oil) dropwise, and the end point is the point at which it is visually confirmed that the silica particles have all become one and the continuous phase has become oil, and the amount of oil added at this point is defined as the oil absorption.
[0023] In the present invention, the hollow silica particles may be surface-treated or may not be surface-treated, for example, with an amino acid, a silicone, or a metal soap.
[0024] The content of component (A) in the cosmetic of the present invention may be, for example, 3.0% by mass or more, 4.0% by mass or more, 5.0% by mass or more, 6.0% by mass or more, or 7.0% by mass or more, relative to the total amount of the cosmetic, and may be 20% by mass or less, 15% by mass or less, 10% by mass or less, 8.0% by mass or less, or 6.0% by mass or less.
[0025] (Component (B)) In the present invention, component (B) refers to solid silica particles having an average particle size of 2 to 7 μm. Such solid silica particles, in particular, have the effect of imparting a soft feel to the powder cosmetic together with an oily component. In the present invention, solid silica particles refer to silica particles that do not have any internal cavities.
[0026] The shape of the solid silica particles is not particularly limited as long as they have no internal cavities, and may be, for example, spherical, cubic, rugby ball-shaped, rod-shaped, spindle-shaped, columnar, tubular, sheet-shaped, or a combination thereof. Among these, spherical shapes are preferred from the viewpoint of ease of use derived from the shape, for example, during application.
[0027] In the present invention, the solid silica particles as component (B) may have an average particle size of 2 μm or more, 4 μm or more, or 6 μm or more, and may be 10 μm or less, 8 μm or less, or 6 μm or less.
[0028] In the present invention, the oil absorption of the solid silica particles is not particularly limited, but may be, for example, 10 ml / 100 g or more, 15 ml / 100 g or more, or 20 ml / 100 g or more, and may be 50 ml / 100 g or less, or 30 ml / 100 g or less.
[0029] In the present invention, the solid silica particles may be surface-treated or may not be surface-treated. Examples of surface treatments for hollow silica particles include, but are not limited to, amino acid treatment, silicone treatment, and metal soap treatment.

[0031] (Component (C)) In the present invention, component (C) refers to porous silica particles having an average particle size of 1 to 30 μm. Such porous silica has a relatively high sebum absorption effect, and is therefore effective in imparting a particularly smooth feel to powder cosmetics. In the present invention, porous silica particles refer to particles having minute pores on the surface.
[0032] The shape of the porous silica particles is not particularly limited as long as they are porous, and may be, for example, spherical, cubic, rugby ball-shaped, rod-shaped, spindle-shaped, columnar, tubular, sheet-shaped, or a combination thereof. Among these, spherical shapes are preferred, for example, from the viewpoint of being less likely to aggregate.
[0033] In the present invention, the porous silica particles as component (C) may have an average particle size of 1 μm or more, 3 μm or more, 5 μm or more, or 8 μm or more, and may have an average particle size of 30 μm or less, 20 μm or less, or 10 μm or less.
[0034] In the present invention, the oil absorption of the porous silica particles is not particularly limited, but may be, for example, 50 ml / 100 g or more.
[0035] In the present invention, the porous silica particles may be surface-treated or may not be surface-treated, for example, with an amino acid, a silicone, or a metal soap.

[0082] <Product Form of Cosmetic> The product form of the cosmetic of the present invention is not particularly limited, and can be any product form within the category of powder cosmetics. More specifically, product forms include, but are not limited to, powder foundation, eye shadow, blush, body powder, perfume powder, baby powder, pressed powder, deodorant powder, face powder, loose powder, etc.
[0083] Furthermore, from the viewpoint of improving moldability and impact resistance, the cosmetic of the present invention is particularly applicable to solid powder cosmetics such as powder foundation, eye shadow, blush color, and pressed powder.
[0084] <<Method for Producing Powder Cosmetic>> The cosmetic of the present invention described above can be produced by the method for producing a powder cosmetic that will be described below.
[0085] (First Method for Producing the Cosmetic of the Present Invention) In the present invention, this first method is a method comprising: dispersing the powder component and oil component described above in a solvent to prepare a slurry; filling the slurry into a container; and removing the volatile solvent from the slurry after filling into the container.
[0086] Here, the solvent may be a volatile solvent or a non-volatile solvent. The volatile solvent may be, for example, a solution in which water, as the primary dispersion medium, is blended with 0 to 30 mass% of a water-soluble volatile organic solvent, such as ethyl alcohol, acetone, or isopropyl alcohol, as a secondary dispersion medium. From the viewpoint of improving moldability and impact resistance, it is preferable to adjust the blending amount of the secondary dispersion medium so that the contact angle of the volatile dispersion medium with a homogeneous mixture of all cosmetic ingredients is 125 to 135°. Examples of non-volatile solvents include, but are not limited to, non-volatile silicone-based solvents.
[0087] Furthermore, examples of methods for preparing a slurry include a method in which the powder component and oil component are dry-mixed / disintegrated in advance using a Henschel Mixer (registered trademark), a pulverizer, or the like, and then added to a dispersion solvent, followed by mixing / dispersion using a Disper Mixer, a homogenizer, a planetary mixer, a Combimix (registered trademark), an Aji Homo Mixer, a twin-screw kneader, etc. Note that when the oil component contains an oil that becomes solid or pasty at 25°C, it is preferable to heat-dissolve the oil component and then dry-mix it with the powder component.
[0088] Furthermore, when preparing the slurry, the ratio (mass ratio) of the powder component to the oil component may be powder component / oil component = 60 / 40 to 99.5 / 0.5, depending on the types of oil component and powder component used. The amount of dispersion solvent used cannot be specified because it depends on the polarity, specific gravity, etc. of the dispersion solvent used, but it is important to ensure sufficient fluidity during filling and molding, and it is common to use about half to twice the amount of the cosmetic constituents.
[0089] The slurry prepared as described above can be suitably filled into a container such as a metal or resin tray by injection filling or the like.
[0090] The powder cosmetic of the present invention can be obtained by removing the solvent from the slurry after filling the container.
[0091] Here, the method for removing the solvent may be, for example, suction press molding or the like, and may further include subsequent drying in a dryer as appropriate.
[0092] This first method may also be called the "wet method."
[0093] (Second Method for Producing the Cosmetic of the Present Invention) In the present invention, this second method is a method comprising: dispersing the above-mentioned powder component and oily component in a solvent to prepare a slurry; and drying the slurry to obtain a dry powder.
[0094] Here, the details of the method for preparing the slurry and the solvent may be the same as those in the above-mentioned "first method," and therefore will not be described here. In addition, the "slurry preparation step" and "volatile solvent" (particularly when the solvent is used as a volatile solvent) described in JP-A-2007-55990 may be appropriately adopted.
[0095] The prepared slurry can then be dried to obtain a dry powder.
[0096] Here, when drying the slurry, for example, a drying device may be used that breaks the slurry into fine droplets by mechanical shearing force and then blows dry gas onto the fine droplets to dry the slurry. This drying device may also include a hollow housing, a shearing means that shears the slurry into fine droplets using a shearing member provided within the housing, a supplying means that supplies the slurry to the shearing member within the housing, a blowing means that blows dry gas into the housing and supplies and contacts the dry gas with the slurry that has been broken into fine droplets by the shearing means, and a collecting means that collects the dry powder produced by drying the slurry. For details on drying the slurry and the drying device used, see, for example, JP 2007-55990 A.
[0097] The second method of the present invention may further include filling the obtained dry powder into a container and solidifying it by dry molding.
[0098] This second method may also be called the "W&D method."
[0099] The present invention will be described in more detail below with reference to examples, but the present invention is not limited to these. Unless otherwise specified, the amount of each component is expressed in mass %.
[0100] Examples 1 to 3 and Comparative Examples 1 to 4 Production by W&D method: The powder components and oily components shown in the formulation in Table 1 below were mixed, and then mixed in ethyl alcohol using a disper mixer. The slurry viscosity was adjusted to about 4000 mPa s, and then the mixture was mixed and dispersed using a twin-screw kneader. This produced a powder slurry.
[0101] The obtained powder slurry was dried in the state of fine droplets using an agitation dryer (spin flash dryer, APV Nordic Anhyro) to obtain a dry powder.
[0102] The resulting dry powder was then filled into a resin container and dry-pressed using a known method to obtain the solid powder cosmetics of Examples 1 to 3 and Comparative Examples 1 to 4, respectively.
[0103] Example 4: Preparation by wet process: The powder components and oily components according to the formulation shown in Table 1 below were mixed using a Henschel mixer, and then pulverized using a pulverizer to obtain a uniform mixture. An equal amount of water (volatile dispersion medium) was added to the mixture, and the mixture was mixed using a disper mixer to obtain a slurry. The slurry was filled into a medium dish, and the solvent was removed by suction, followed by drying to obtain the solid powder cosmetic for Example 4.
[0104] <<Evaluation of Overall Usability>> The solid cosmetic powder preparations of each of the Examples and Comparative Examples obtained above were evaluated for overall usability upon application to the skin (soft feel, dry feel, powdery texture) based on the following criteria. The results are shown in Table 2.
