[0016] A wireless communication system, an analysis device, a wireless communication method, and an analysis program according to embodiments of the present disclosure will be described with reference to the drawings. The same or corresponding components are designated by the same reference numerals, and repeated descriptions may be omitted.

[0017] 1 is a diagram showing an example of the configuration of a wireless communication system 100 according to embodiment 1. The wireless communication system 100 includes a first wireless station 10 and a second wireless station 20.

[0018] The first radio station 10 is used as a fixed station, converts a signal to be transmitted into radio waves 11, and transmits the converted signal to the second radio station 20. It also receives radio waves 12 transmitted from the second radio station 20. The first radio station 10 may be a base station installed on a utility pole or the roof of a building, or a relay station equipped with a parabolic antenna installed on a mountain.

[0019] The second wireless station 20 is used as a fixed station and performs wireless communication with the first wireless station 10. The second wireless station 20 is a subscriber station installed in a house or the like, or the above-mentioned relay station.

[0020] Hereinafter, the wireless communication between the first wireless station 10 and the second wireless station 20 will be referred to as fixed wireless communication. Note that fixed wireless communication is not limited to communication via a known fixed wireless access line. In the present disclosure, wireless communication using continuous radio waves between fixedly used wireless stations will be collectively referred to as fixed wireless communication.

[0021] The first interfering radio station 30 establishes a mobile radio link with the second interfering radio station 40. The radio communication here is radio packet communication such as wireless LAN (Local Area Network) communication. The first interfering radio station 30 is, for example, a wireless LAN base station. The second interfering radio station 40 is, for example, a mobile terminal such as a smartphone.

[0022] The radio waves transmitted and received between the first jamming radio station 30 and the second jamming radio station 40 interfere with the fixed radio communication. Therefore, hereinafter, the radio waves transmitted by the first jamming radio station 30 will be referred to as jamming waves 31, and the radio waves transmitted by the second jamming radio station 40 will be referred to as jamming waves 41.

[0023] When detecting jamming wave 31 or jamming wave 41 during demodulation of radio wave 12, first radio station 10 notifies analysis device 50 of demodulation error information 5. The same applies to second radio station 20. Analysis device 50 estimates the communication method and location of the jamming wave based on the notified demodulation error information 5. Note that the communication method here refers to the wireless standard or communication protocol defined by IEEE 802.11.

[0024] Hereinafter, the wireless communication system 100 of the present disclosure will be described. However, for simplicity of description, when there is no need to distinguish between the wireless radio waves 11 and 12, they will be referred to as wireless radio waves 1. Furthermore, when there is no need to distinguish between the first wireless station 10 and the second wireless station 20, they will be referred to as wireless station 2. Furthermore, when there is no need to distinguish between the jamming wave 31 and the jamming wave 41, they will be referred to as jamming wave 3. Furthermore, when there is no need to distinguish between the first jamming wireless station 30 and the second jamming wireless station 40, they will be referred to as jamming wireless station 4.

[0025] 2 is a diagram illustrating a method for transmitting radio waves 1 according to embodiment 1. In fixed radio communication, radio waves 1 are transmitted continuously regardless of whether or not there is data to be transmitted.

[0026] 3 is a diagram illustrating a transmission method of jamming waves 3 according to the first embodiment. Unlike the radio wave 1, the jamming waves 3 are transmitted in an intermittent pattern specific to the communication method. This is because, in wireless packet communication, packet intervals and communication standby times are set according to the communication method. For example, in wireless LANs, a wireless signal called a beacon is transmitted from a base station with a period of approximately 100 ms. Furthermore, the CSMA / CA (Carrier Sense Multiple Access with Collision Avoidance) algorithm has transmission standby times specific to the algorithm, such as SIFS (Short Inter Frame Space) and DIFS (DCF Inter Frame Space, Distributed Coordination Function).

[0027] 4 is a schematic diagram showing how the radio wave 12 is demodulated when there is no interference from the jamming wave 3 according to the first embodiment. Demodulation begins as the radio wave 12 arrives at the first radio station 10, and a demodulated signal is generated with an intensity corresponding to the radio output of the radio wave 12. The demodulated signal continues to be generated as long as the radio wave 12 is continuously transmitted and generated. When there is no interference from the jamming wave 3, a normal demodulated signal that changes over time in this pattern is obtained.

[0028] 5 and 6 are schematic diagrams showing how radio wave 12 including jamming waves 31 and 41 is demodulated according to the first embodiment. Radio wave 12 is demodulated in the same manner as in Fig. 4, but is not demodulated normally in the time domain containing interference from jamming waves 31 and 41, as shown in Fig. 5. As a result, an abnormal demodulated signal 13 that changes over time in the pattern shown in Fig. 6 is obtained.

[0029] 4 to 6 also apply to the case where the second radio station 20 demodulates the radio wave 11.

[0030] 7 shows a transmission pattern of a radio signal of communication method A according to embodiment 1, which can become an interfering wave 31 in fixed radio communication. The vertical axis represents the radio signal output, which is expressed as three values: H (High), M (Middle), and L (Low). The horizontal axis represents elapsed time. The signal output is Low until transmission begins. When the radio signal begins to be transmitted, the output becomes High. Furthermore, just before the transmission of the radio signal is completed, the signal output becomes Middle, and when transmission of the radio signal is completed, it returns to Low. As a result, the transmission pattern of communication method A changes to LLLLLHHHML.

[0031] As described above, the interference wave 31 is emitted in an intermittent pattern specific to the communication method. In the example of Fig. 7, the characteristics of communication method A appear during the period when the signal output is High.

[0032] 8 shows the transmission pattern of a wireless signal of communication method B, which can become an interfering wave 31 in fixed wireless communication, according to the first embodiment. The vertical and horizontal axes are the same as those in FIG. 7. The transmission pattern of communication method B changes as HLLHLLLHLL. Here, the characteristics of communication method B appear in the interval time until the signal output becomes High.

[0033] 9 shows the transmission pattern of a wireless signal of communication method C according to embodiment 1, which can become an interfering wave 31 in fixed wireless communication. The vertical and horizontal axes are the same as those in FIG. 7. Here, it is assumed that communication method C is a handshake for VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol). 200OK and ACK are response signals exchanged between the transmitting and receiving sides in VoIP. Based on the time-varying patterns of these response signals, the signal output of the wireless signal also changes over time. The transmission pattern of communication method C is HHHHHLLHHL.

[0034] 7 to 9 are stored as templates 151. This makes it possible to compare the demodulation error information 5 notified from the wireless station 2 with the transmission patterns recorded in the templates, thereby estimating the communication method of the interference signal 3.

[0035] 7 to 9, the vertical axis is shown with three values, but the values on the vertical axis may be continuous. The same applies to the interference wave 41 as described in FIGS.

[0036] 10 is a schematic diagram showing demodulation error information 5 of the radio wave 1 according to the first embodiment. The vertical axis represents the magnitude of the demodulation error, expressed as one of three values: H (High), M (Middle), and L (Low). The horizontal axis represents elapsed time. The magnitude of the demodulation error changes over time according to the transmission pattern of the interference wave 3. In the example of FIG. 10, the magnitude changes as follows: LLLLLHHHML. The radio station 2 notifies the analysis device 50 of this time-varying pattern of the demodulation error as demodulation error information 5.

[0037] The analysis device 50 compares the notified demodulation error information 5 with the transmission pattern recorded in the template 151. In the example of Fig. 10, the demodulation error information 5, which changes as LLLLLHHHML, is compared with the transmission patterns of the communication methods A and B. Since the demodulation error information 5 has a high degree of coincidence with the transmission pattern of the communication method A, it can be estimated that the communication method of the interference wave 3 is the communication method A. Note that machine learning or mathematical analysis may be used for the estimation.

[0038] Note that the communication methods that the analysis device 50 can estimate are not limited to the above examples, and other communication methods such as NR-U (New Radio-Unlicensed) and TDD (Time Division Duplex) systems in 5G mobile communication systems can also be estimated.

[0039] 11 is a block diagram showing the configuration of a wireless communication system 100 according to the first embodiment. In a first wireless station 10, an antenna 117 receives a radio wave 12. A transceiver 114 amplifies, shapes, etc., a high-frequency wireless signal. A demodulator 113 demodulates an analog signal. If a demodulation error occurs, the demodulator 113 notifies a memory 116 of demodulation error information 5.

[0040] The IF unit 112 converts the high frequency radio wave 12 into an intermediate frequency (IF) band. The transmission device 111 is an interface that receives signals from other devices.

[0041] The time synchronization unit 115 performs time synchronization with the time synchronization unit 115 of the second wireless station 20 using a GPS (Global Positioning System) or the like. Furthermore, the synchronized time information 6 is notified to the storage unit 116. The storage unit 116 adds the time information 6 notified from the time synchronization unit 115 to the demodulation error information 5 notified from the demodulation unit 113 and stores the added information. This allows the time at which a demodulation error occurred in each of the two wireless stations to be accurately stored. Hereinafter, the demodulation error information 5 with the added time information 6 will be referred to as time-added demodulation error information 7. The storage unit 116 notifies the analysis device 50 of the time-added demodulation error information 7.

[0042] The storage unit 116 is a storage device such as a hard disk drive, a solid state drive (SSD), etc. These storage devices do not necessarily have to be built into the first wireless station 10, but may be connected online.

[0043] The above description has mainly focused on the function of the first wireless station 10 when it receives radio waves 12. However, the first wireless station 10 can also transmit radio waves 11 using the configuration shown in Fig. 11. The above description also applies to the second wireless station 20, so further description will be omitted.

[0044] 12 is a block diagram showing the configuration of an analysis device 50 according to the first embodiment. The communication method estimation unit 152 receives the time-stamped demodulation error information 7 from the storage unit 116 of the first wireless station 10. Furthermore, the communication method estimation unit 152 compares the transmission pattern recorded in the template 151 with the demodulation error information 5 included in the time-stamped demodulation error information 7 to estimate the communication method of the interference wave 3. Furthermore, the communication method estimation unit 152 estimates the detection time of the interference wave 3, which is the cause of the demodulation error, based on the time information 6 included in the time-stamped demodulation error information 7. The first storage unit 153 stores the estimation result of the communication method of the interference wave 3 and information on the detection time of the interference wave 3.

[0045] The analysis device 50 also uses a similar method to estimate the communication method and detection time of the jamming wave 3 detected by the second wireless station 20. This information is stored in the second memory unit 154. The calculation unit 155 calculates the detection time difference between the jamming wave 3 at the first wireless station 10 and the second wireless station 20 based on the detection time information stored in the first memory unit 153 and the second memory unit 154, respectively. The location estimation unit 156 estimates the location of the jamming wireless station 4 based on the calculation result of the detection time difference and the location information of the first wireless station 10 and the second wireless station 20.

[0046] As described above, in this embodiment, it is possible to provide the wireless communication system 100 that can estimate the communication method of the interfering wave 3 and the location of the interfering wireless station 4 .

[0047] It should be noted that the above-described effects can be achieved without stopping fixed wireless communication in the wireless communication system 100 of the present disclosure. For fixed wireless communication that continuously transmits radio waves 1, being able to estimate the communication method of the interfering wave 3 and the location of the interfering wireless station 4 without stopping communication is a great advantage.

[0048] Furthermore, in the wireless communication system of the present disclosure, it is possible to identify the communication method and location of the interfering wave 3, so it is possible to remove the interfering wireless station 4 even after the installation of the wireless station 2. Therefore, it is possible to omit the interference study that has conventionally been carried out before the installation of the wireless station 2.

[0049] <Variation 1> If there is demodulation error information 5 from either the first wireless station 10 or the second wireless station 20, the analysis device 50 can estimate the communication method of the jamming wave 3. The demodulation error information 5 does not need to include time information 6. Therefore, if there is no need to estimate the location of the jamming wireless station 4, the demodulation unit 113 of one wireless station 2 can simply notify the demodulation error information 5 to the storage unit 116. Furthermore, the wireless station 2 may not have a time synchronization unit 115. Furthermore, the analysis device 50 may not have the second storage unit 154, the calculation unit 155, and the location estimation unit 156. This point is common to all embodiments.

[0050] <Variation 2> The processing performed by the wireless station 2 and the analysis device 50 may be executed by a program using a computer that includes a CPU and memory and stores a program in the memory. Alternatively, the processing may be executed by a program using an integrated circuit such as an FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array). The program may be provided by being recorded on a storage medium or via a network. This point is common to all of the following embodiments.

[0051] <Modification 3> The analysis device 50 may be built into either the first wireless station 10 or the second wireless station 20. This point is common to all the embodiments.

[0052] Second Embodiment In this embodiment, the content data is estimated by utilizing the fact that the transmission pattern changes depending on the communication content data included in the interference wave 3. The following describes changes from the first embodiment.

[0053] 13 is a diagram showing an example of the configuration of a wireless communication system 100 according to embodiment 2. Radio waves 11 and 12 are transmitted continuously as in embodiment 1, but for ease of explanation, they are shown here as multiple arrows connected together.

[0054] 14 is a diagram illustrating the relationship between the transmission method of the interference wave 3 and content data according to embodiment 2. As in embodiment 1, the interference wave 3 is transmitted in an intermittent pattern specific to the communication method. In this embodiment, the interference wave 3 includes content data such as audio or video, and is transmitted in a pattern determined for each content data.

[0055] In the case of audio data 311, a short-duration radio signal is repeatedly transmitted at a low output power. For example, in the case of VoIP, a radio signal is transmitted at intervals of about 20 ms or 40 ms according to the audio codec in the G.711 standard. On the other hand, in the case of video data 312, a long-duration radio signal is repeatedly transmitted at a high output power.

[0056] The analysis device 50 stores a transmission pattern for each piece of content data as a template 151 .

[0057] 15 is a schematic diagram showing the relationship between the magnitude of demodulation errors and content data according to embodiment 2. Since the magnitude of demodulation errors depends on the signal output of the interfering wave 3, the proportion of high demodulation errors (hereinafter referred to as the error rate) in the demodulation error information 5 increases as the signal output of the interfering wave 3 increases. This means that the error rate depends on the type of content data included in the interfering wave 3. Therefore, while the radio wave 12 is being interfered with by the interfering wave 3, the demodulation error information 5 continues to be generated with an error rate corresponding to the content data included in the interfering wave 3.

[0058] 15, demodulation error information 5 with a low error rate continues to be generated while an interfering wave 3 containing audio data 311 is being transmitted. On the other hand, demodulation error information 5 with a high error rate continues to be generated while an interfering wave 3 containing video data 312 is being transmitted. In the figure, the intensity of the color of the arrow indicating the radio wave 12 indicates the magnitude of the error rate when the radio wave is demodulated. The darker the color, the higher the error rate.

[0059] The analysis device 50 compares the demodulation error information 5 with the transmission pattern recorded in the template 151 to estimate the communication method of the interference wave 3 and the content data contained in the interference wave 3. Because wireless signals containing content data such as audio and video are transmitted for a relatively long period of time, the analysis device 50 can continuously analyze the interference wave 3 containing the content data, enabling highly accurate estimation.

[0060] As described above, in this embodiment, it is possible to provide the wireless communication system 100 that is capable of estimating the content data included in the interfering wave 3 .

[0061] <Modification 4> The present disclosure is not limited to the above-described embodiment, and various modifications can be made in the implementation stage without departing from the spirit of the present disclosure. Furthermore, the embodiments may be implemented in appropriate combination, and in such a case, the combined effects can be obtained.
