Description

Charging device and method for assembling the charging device

[0001] The present disclosure relates to a charging device and a method for assembling a charging device.

[0002] As electric vehicles such as electric cars become more common, charging devices for charging the onboard batteries of these vehicles are also becoming more common. Charging devices typically have a box-shaped housing and are often installed on the ground or other surfaces. However, the frequent occurrence of heavy rains in recent years has increased the risk of flood damage. In the event of flooding, charging devices that are installed on the ground or other surfaces will be submerged, allowing water to seep into the housing. The housing contains electrical circuit components for power conversion. Therefore, if water seeps into the housing, the charging device may malfunction.

[0003] In response to these problems, Patent Document 1 (see below) proposes a stationary power conversion device in which electrical circuit components will not be damaged by water intrusion to a certain extent. The stationary power conversion device of Patent Document 1 includes a box-shaped housing that is installed on an installation surface. Inside the housing, a circuit component housing space is provided for housing the electrical circuit components. A waterproof box is located below the circuit component housing space for housing some of the electrical circuit components.

[0004] The waterproof box is composed of a first component forming a side panel and a second component forming a bottom panel and side panel. The first component and the second component are each formed from a metal plate. The first component and the second component are combined into a box shape, and the seams at their edges are connected by welding. The waterproof box further includes a board mounting plate, a first top plate, and a second top plate. The first top plate is integrally formed with the board mounting plate at its upper end. Some of the electrical circuit components are mounted on the component mounting surface of the board mounting plate. The board mounting plate is inserted into the waterproof box through an opening at the top of the waterproof box so as to face a portion of the side panel of the waterproof box, and the lower end of the board mounting plate is fixed to the bottom panel of the waterproof box with screws. The opening at the top of the waterproof box is covered by the first and second top plates.

[0005] As described above, the installed power conversion device described in Patent Document 1 has a waterproof box disposed below the circuit component housing space. Therefore, even if water enters the circuit component housing space, the electrical circuit components housed in the waterproof box can be prevented from being submerged in water until the water level exceeds the height of the side panel of the waterproof box.

[0010] [Problem to be Solved by the Present Disclosure] In the technology described in Patent Document 1, a board mounting plate carrying electric circuit components is fixed in a waterproof box with screws. Therefore, for example, when it is necessary to replace an electric circuit component or to inspect an electric circuit component when a malfunction occurs in the device, it is necessary to remove the waterproof box from inside the housing, and then remove the screws fixing the board mounting plate and then remove the board mounting plate from the waterproof box. Therefore, the inclusion of a waterproof box creates a new problem of reduced convenience in work and reduced maintainability of the device.

[0011] The present disclosure has been made to solve such problems, and one object of the present disclosure is to provide a charging device and a method for assembling a charging device that can prevent device failure due to water intrusion while suppressing a decrease in convenience or maintainability.

[0012] Effect of the Present Disclosure According to the present disclosure, it is possible to provide a charging device and a method for assembling a charging device that can suppress a decrease in convenience or maintainability while suppressing failure of the device due to water intrusion.

[0013] [Description of Embodiments of the Present Disclosure] Preferred embodiments of the present disclosure will be listed and described below. At least some of the embodiments described below may be combined in any combination.

[0014] (1) A charging device according to a first aspect of the present disclosure includes a housing that houses electrical circuit components that perform power conversion for charging, and a holding member that is positioned at the bottom of the housing and holds a board on which some of the electrical circuit components are mounted. The holding member includes a case member to which the board is attached and that is positioned opposite a side panel of the housing, and a cover member that is detachably attached to the case member. The cover member is attached to the case member to form a waterproof box body.

[0015] A holding member that holds a board on which some of the electrical circuit components are mounted is disposed at the bottom inside the housing. A waterproof box body is provided on the holding member. Even if water seeps into the housing, the box body can prevent the board from becoming submerged in water. A cover member that constitutes the box body is detachably attached to the case member. By removing the cover member, the board attached to the case member is exposed, making it possible to work on the board. Therefore, with the above configuration, it is possible to prevent a decrease in convenience or maintainability.

[0016] (2) In the above (1), the case member may include a mounting plate disposed opposite the side plate of the housing and on which the circuit board is attached, and a wall portion provided around the mounting plate in an area where the circuit board is attached, and the cover member may be attached to the wall portion so as to face the mounting plate. This makes it possible to easily prevent a decrease in convenience or maintainability.

[0017] (3) In the above (2), the wall portion may include a first wall portion erected on the lower edge of the mounting plate, a second wall portion erected on the right edge of the mounting plate and connected to the first wall portion, and a third wall portion erected on the left edge of the mounting plate and connected to the first wall portion, and the box may have an opening at the top by attaching a cover member to the first wall portion, the second wall portion, and the third wall portion, thereby allowing heat generated by the electric circuit components to be released to the outside of the box through the opening at the top.

[0018] (4) In the above (2) or (3), the mounting plate may be configured to protrude above the box body. This makes it possible to mount a circuit board that is too large to fit inside the box body to the case member. Because the mounting plate protrudes above the box body, the circuit board can be protected from water that has entered the housing, as long as the water level does not exceed the height of the box body.

[0019] (5) In any of the above (1) to (4), the case member may be configured such that the mounting plate and the wall portion are integrally formed by bending a metal plate, thereby making it possible to easily form the cover member.

[0020] (6) In any of the above (1) to (5), the case member may be made of a metal material, and the cover member may be made of a resin material. By making a part of the holding member out of a resin material, the weight of the holding member can be reduced compared to when the entire holding member is made of a metal material. Furthermore, by making the cover member out of a resin material, the weight of the cover member can be reduced, making it easier to attach and detach the cover member.

[0021] (7) In the above (6), the cover member may be transparent. This allows the status inside the box to be observed without removing the cover member. Therefore, for example, if the status of the board or electronic circuit components is to be checked, the effort of removing the cover member can be eliminated. Therefore, with the above configuration, the decrease in convenience or maintainability can be further suppressed.

[0022] (8) In any of the above (1) to (7), the electrical circuit components may include high-voltage components and low-voltage components, the low-voltage components may be mounted on the board, and a high-voltage circuit composed of the high-voltage components may be disposed in the upper part of the housing. This reduces the risk of water ingress into the high-voltage circuit. Furthermore, even if the high-voltage components are disposed in the upper part of the housing to reduce the risk of water ingress, disposing the low-voltage components in the lower part of the housing can also prevent the center of gravity of the device from becoming too high.

[0023] (9) In any of (1) to (8) above, the housing side panels may have a first side panel and a second side panel facing the first side panel, the case member may be disposed facing the first side panel, the cover member may be disposed facing the second side panel, and the second side panel may be configured to be openable, closable, or detachable. This allows the cover member to be positioned in front when the second side panel is opened, closed, or removed for maintenance, for example, making it easy to remove the cover member. Therefore, this configuration further reduces the reduction in convenience or ease of maintenance.

[0024] (10) In any of the above (1) to (9), the charging device may have a function of charging the storage battery and a function of discharging the storage battery. That is, the charging device may be a charging / discharging device. This makes it possible to provide a charging / discharging device that can suppress a decrease in convenience or maintainability while suppressing device failure due to water intrusion.

[0025] (11) An assembly method according to a second aspect of the present disclosure is a method for assembling a charging device including electrical circuit components that perform power conversion for charging and a housing that houses the electrical circuit components, and includes the steps of attaching a board on which some of the electrical circuit components are mounted to a case member that is located at the bottom of the housing, and removably attaching a cover member to the case member to which the board is attached, and by attaching the cover member to the case member, a waterproof box is formed.

[0026] After a board on which some of the electrical circuit components are mounted is attached to a case member, a cover member is detachably attached to the case member. This forms a waterproof box. Even if water seeps into the housing, the box can prevent the board from becoming submerged in water. The cover member that forms the box is detachably attached to the case member. By removing the cover member, the board attached to the case member is exposed, making it possible to work on the board. Therefore, with the above configuration, it is possible to prevent a decrease in convenience or maintainability.

[0027] (12) In the above (11), the assembly method may further include a step of placing the case member with the board attached at a lower part inside the housing prior to the step of detachably attaching the cover member. This facilitates wiring between the board attached to the case member and other components inside the housing. Furthermore, by attaching the board to the case member and then placing the case member inside the housing, it becomes easier to attach the board and also facilitates wiring work on the board. Therefore, a decrease in convenience can be further suppressed.

[0028] (13) In the above (11), the assembly method may further include a step of arranging the case member in a lower portion of the housing prior to the step of attaching the board. This makes it easier to arrange the case member in the housing. Therefore, this also further reduces the decrease in convenience.

[0029] [Details of the embodiment of the present disclosure] Specific examples of a charging device and a method of assembling the charging device according to the embodiment of the present disclosure will be described below with reference to the drawings. Note that in the following embodiments, identical components are assigned the same reference numerals. Their functions and names are also identical. Therefore, detailed description thereof will not be repeated.

[0030] (Embodiment) [Overall Configuration] Referring to Fig. 1, a charging device 50 according to this embodiment has a charging function for charging an on-board battery mounted on an electrically powered vehicle such as an electric car. Some charging devices have not only a charging function but also a discharging function for supplying power stored in the on-board battery to a household load. Such charging devices are sometimes called charging / discharging devices. Hereinafter, these will be collectively referred to simply as "charging devices."

[0031] Charging device 50 includes a box-shaped housing 100, a pair of left and right legs 60 and 62 that support housing 100, electrical circuit components housed within housing 100, and a charging cable 70. Referring to FIGS. 2 and 3 , charging device 50 is a stationary charging device that is installed on an installation surface 64 such as the ground via legs 60 and 62. Housing 100 includes a plurality of side panels, a top panel 110, and a bottom panel 112. The side panels include a front panel 120, a back panel 122 (see FIG. 3 ) that faces front panel 120, a right side panel 124 that is the side panel on the right side when viewed from the front of the device, and a left side panel 126 that is the side panel on the left side when viewed from the front of the device.

[0032] 1 and 2 , a front panel 120 is provided with an operation panel 130 for operating the charging device 50. The front panel 120 is removable (detachable) for maintenance and the like. The charging cable 70 is pulled out, for example, from a right side panel 124. A charging connector (not shown) is provided at the end of the charging cable 70. This charging connector is connected to an inlet of the electric vehicle when charging (or discharging) the onboard battery of the electric vehicle.

[0033] The charging device 50 receives AC power of 100V or 200V, or DC power from an external source. The charging device 50 converts the input AC or DC power into DC power of a predetermined voltage and supplies it to the electric vehicle via a charging connector. This charges the onboard battery of the electric vehicle. If the charging device 50 has a discharge function, it performs the reverse operation to the above when discharging the onboard battery. That is, the charging device 50 converts DC power from the onboard battery into AC power of 100V or 200V and outputs it externally. This allows power from the onboard battery to be supplied to household loads.

[0034] 4, the housing 100 of the charging device 50 accommodates the above-described electric circuit components 140. The electric circuit components 140 perform power conversion for the above-described charging or discharging. The electric circuit components 140 include high-voltage components 142 and low-voltage components 144.

[0035] The high-voltage components 142 include components to which a relatively high voltage (e.g., 400 V) is applied, such as an inverter and a converter. The high-voltage components 142 constitute a high-voltage circuit, such as a power conversion circuit. The low-voltage components 144 include, for example, components that constitute a filter circuit, components that constitute an auxiliary power supply circuit, and components that constitute a control circuit that controls the operation of the power conversion circuit. The filter circuit shapes the AC power or DC power input to the charging device 50 from the outside. The auxiliary power supply circuit generates DC power of a relatively low voltage (e.g., 12 V) from the AC power or DC power that has been shaped by the filter circuit.

[0036] Referring again to FIG. 2 , a high-voltage circuit 146 is disposed in the upper part of the housing 100, and a low-voltage circuit 148 is disposed in the lower part of the housing 100. The high-voltage circuit 146 includes the power conversion circuit described above. A shielding cover (not shown) for shielding noise from the high-voltage circuit 146 is provided in the upper part of the housing 100. The low-voltage circuit 148 includes the filter circuit, auxiliary power supply circuit, or control circuit described above. The low-voltage circuit 148 is formed by mounting low-voltage components 144, which are part of the electric circuit components 140 (see FIG. 4 ), on a board.

[0037] Referring to FIG. 5 , charging device 50 further includes a holding member 200 that holds substrate 150 on which low-voltage components 144 are mounted. At least a portion of low-voltage circuit 148 is mounted on substrate 150. Holding member 200 is disposed in the lower portion of housing 100. Substrate 150 held by holding member 200 includes first substrate 152 and second substrate 154. However, the number of substrates 150 held by holding member 200 is not limited to two, first substrate 152 and second substrate 154, and may be one substrate, or three or more substrates. Furthermore, the shape, size, and mounting position of the substrates may be changed as appropriate.

[0038] Within the housing 100, an area R1 is provided near the holding member 200, in which a terminal block and a breaker (neither of which are shown) are installed. The terminal block and the breaker are installed in the area R1 via a bracket. The charging device 50 receives the above-mentioned AC 100V or AC 200V power or DC power via the terminal block. The holding member 200 is configured so as not to interfere with the bracket provided in the area R1, as will be described later.

[0039] A portion of the holding member 200 is shaped like a waterproof box. That is, the holding member 200 includes a waterproof box body 202. This box body 202 has an opening 204 at the top. The first substrate 152 held by the holding member 200 is located almost entirely within the box body 202. The second substrate 154 held by the holding member 200 has a portion (lower portion) located within the box body 202, and the remaining portion (upper portion) located above the box body 202 via the opening 204. The holding member 200 is attached to the housing 100 so that the upper edge 206 (opening 204) of the box body 202 is located above position L at height H from the installation surface 64.

[0040] 6 , height H can be set to the height (depth of flooding) at which charging device 50 would be submerged in the event of a disaster such as a flood. This prevents board 150 (first board 152, second board 154) held by holding member 200 from being submerged in water even if water seeps into housing 100 of charging device 50 until the water level exceeds the height of upper edge 206 (opening 204) of box body 202.

[0041] Height H can be set arbitrarily. For example, assuming that water may flood under the floor, height H can be set to approximately 30 cm to 50 cm from the viewpoint of preventing the substrate 150 from being submerged in water. Height H may be adjusted by changing the position of the holding member 200 or by changing the height of the legs 60 and 62. If water may flood above the floor, height H must be set larger. In that case, for example, a foundation block (not shown) or the like may be placed on the installation surface 64, and the charging device 50 may be placed on the foundation block or the like.

[0042] As described above, the holding member 200 or the box body 202 of the holding member 200 is a component that is intended to be submerged in water, and therefore can also be called a "water-submerged box."

[0043] 7, the holding member 200 includes a case member 300, a water-stopping component 400, and a cover member 500. The case member 300 includes an attachment plate 310 to which the substrate 150 (see FIG. 5) is attached, and a wall portion 320 that, together with the attachment plate 310 and the cover member 500, constitutes the box body 202. The cover member 500 is detachably attached to the case member 300. The water-stopping component 400 seals off the gap between the cover member 500 and the case member 300 so that the box body 202 is waterproof.

[0044] A plurality of bosses 312 for attaching the substrate 150 to the mounting plate 310 are provided at predetermined positions on the mounting plate 310. The mounting plate 310 is further formed with through holes 314 through which screws are inserted for fixing the mounting plate 310 inside the housing 100. The through holes 314 are formed above the area that constitutes the box 202 (in the direction of arrow A) in order to prevent water from entering the box 202.

[0045] An L-shaped fixing part 220 is attached to a wall part 320 of the case member 300 to fix the case member 300 (holding member 200) inside the housing 100. The fixing part 220 has screw holes 220a through which screws (not shown) for fixing the case member 300 (holding member 200) are inserted. The wall part 320 has a flange part 330. The flange part 330 functions as a cover mounting part to which the cover member 500 is attached. The flange part 330 is provided with a plurality of screw holes 330a for screwing the cover member 500.

[0046] Referring to Figure 8, the above-described waterproof box 202 is configured by attaching cover member 500 to case member 300. Holding member 200 is disposed within housing 100 (see Figure 5) with the direction of arrow A as the upward direction. Therefore, when the direction of arrow A is the upward direction, box 202 has opening 204 at the top, as described above. A portion of mounting plate 310 protrudes above box 202 (in the direction of arrow A).

[0047] Referring to FIG. 9 , the case member 300 is formed by bending a single metal plate 302. Therefore, the mounting plate 310 and the wall portion 320 are integrally formed. The mounting plate 310 includes a board mounting area 304 to which the board 150 (see FIG. 5 ) is attached. The board mounting area 304 is provided with the bosses 312 described above. The bosses 312 include eight bosses (first boss 312 a, second boss 312 b, third boss 312 c, fourth boss 312 d, fifth boss 312 e, sixth boss 312 f, seventh boss 312 g, and eighth boss 312 h). The first board 152 (see FIG. 5 ) is attached to the mounting plate 310 via the first boss 312 a, second boss 312 b, third boss 312 c, and fourth boss 312 d. The second board 154 (see FIG. 5) is attached to the mounting plate 310 via the fifth boss 312e, the sixth boss 312f, the seventh boss 312g, and the eighth boss 312h.

[0048] The mounting plate 310 is provided with an interference suppression section 340. The interference suppression section 340 is formed by removing a portion of the mounting plate 310 that interferes with a bracket provided in region R1 (see FIG. 5 ). Specifically, the interference suppression section 340 is formed by reducing the plate width of the upper portion of the mounting plate 310 (the portion above the box body 202). The interference suppression section 340 suppresses interference between the bracket provided in region R1 (see FIG. 5 ) and the case member 300.

[0049] The wall portion 320 is provided around the board mounting area 304 on the mounting plate 310. The wall portion 320 includes three walls: a first wall portion 322, a second wall portion 324, and a third wall portion 326. The first wall portion 322 is provided in an upright position on an edge portion 350 on the lower side (the side indicated by arrow B) of the mounting plate 310. The second wall portion 324 is provided in an upright position on an edge portion 352 on the right side of the mounting plate 310. The third wall portion 326 is provided in an upright position on an edge portion 354 on the left side of the mounting plate 310.

[0050] The flange portion 330 includes a first flange portion 332 formed on the first wall portion 322, a second flange portion 334 formed on the second wall portion 324, and a third flange portion 336 formed on the third wall portion 326. Semicircular cutouts 334a and 334b are formed in the second flange portion 334. Semicircular cutouts 336a and 336b are also formed in the third flange portion 336. The cutouts 334a, 334b, 336a, and 336b are each formed at a position corresponding to the fixed component 220 (see FIG. 7 ).

[0051] The first edge 322a of the first wall portion 322 has the same length as the edge 324a of the second wall portion 324. The second edge 322b of the first wall portion 322 has the same length as the edge 326a of the third wall portion 326. When the metal plate 302 is bent, the first edge 322a of the first wall portion 322 and the edge 324a of the second wall portion 324 are aligned with each other, and the second edge 322b of the first wall portion 322 and the edge 326a of the third wall portion 326 are aligned with each other.

[0052] 7 , the second wall portion 324 is connected to the first wall portion 322, and the third wall portion 326 is connected to the first wall portion 322. The joints of the edges of the first wall portion 322 and the second wall portion 324 are connected by welding. Similarly, the joints of the edges of the first wall portion 322 and the third wall portion 326 are connected by welding. Gaps at the joints of the edges are sealed by welding. If gaps occur at the joints of the edges, they may be sealed by waterproof caulking.

[0053] Referring to Fig. 10, in the case member 300, a first wall portion 322, a second wall portion 324, and a third wall portion 326 are formed on the lower side of the mounting plate 310 so as to surround three sides of the board mounting area 304. Referring to Fig. 11, the fixing component 220 includes a first fixing component 222 and a second fixing component 224 attached to the second wall portion 324, and a third fixing component 226 and a fourth fixing component 228 attached to the third wall portion 326. In the second wall portion 324, the first fixing component 222 is attached at a position corresponding to the notch 334a, and the second fixing component 224 is attached at a position corresponding to the notch 334b. In the third wall portion 326, the third fixing component 226 is attached at a position corresponding to the notch 336a, and the fourth fixing component 228 is attached at a position corresponding to the notch 336b. With this configuration, when fixing the case member 300 to the housing 100 with screws via the fixing parts 220, it is possible to avoid interference between the tool used to tighten the screws and the flange portion 330. This improves workability.

[0054] 7 , the water stop component 400 is a component for sealing the gap between the cover member 500 and the case member 300 (flange portion 330). The water stop component 400 is formed, for example, in a U-shape so as to fit along the flange portion 330. The water stop component 400 is made of, for example, a rubber packing, and is positioned inside the screw hole 330a of the flange portion 330.

[0055] Referring also to FIG. 8 , the cover member 500 is made of a transparent resin plate having a predetermined thickness. The cover member 500 is attached to the flange portion 330 of the wall portion 320 so as to face the mounting plate 310. For this purpose, the cover member 500 has a plurality of through holes 502 formed at positions corresponding to the screw holes 330a of the flange portion 330. Screws (not shown) for fastening the cover member 500 are inserted into these through holes 502. The cover member 500 is detachably attached to the case member 300. The cover member 500 can be configured to have a thickness and strength that is not easily deformed by water pressure when submerged in water, the tightening force of the screws, and the like.

[0056] 5, holding member 200 (case member 300) is disposed within housing 100 so that the back surface of mounting plate 310 faces rear panel 122 (the inner surface of rear panel 122). In this case, the upper surface of cover member 500 of holding member 200 faces front panel 120 (the inner surface of front panel 120).

[0057] [Assembly Method] The following describes a method for assembling the charging device 50. Of the methods for assembling the charging device 50, the following mainly describes a method for attaching the holding member 200 (submersion box).

[0058] 12 , in the first assembly method, first, a substrate 150 (first substrate 152 and second substrate 154) on which some of the electric circuit components 140 (low-voltage components 144) are mounted is prepared. Next, this substrate 150 is attached to the case member 300. Specifically, the first substrate 152 and the second substrate 154 are attached to the substrate attachment region 304 of the attachment plate 310. Next, wiring is performed as necessary. For example, if the first substrate 152 and the second substrate 154 need to be electrically connected, the first substrate 152 and the second substrate 154 are electrically connected by wiring.

[0059] 13 , the case member 300 to which the board 150 is attached is then placed in the lower part of the housing 100. At this time, the case member 300 is placed so that the mounting plate 310 faces the rear panel 122. The case member 300 is fixed to the inside of the housing 100 with screws via the fixing parts 220 or the like. If wiring is required between the board 150 attached to the case member 300 and other components or devices within the housing 100, the wiring is performed.

[0060] 14, finally, cover member 500 is detachably attached to case member 300. This completes box 202 for protecting board 150 from water. In this manner, a water-immersion box is provided within housing 100. Thereafter, front panel 120 (see FIG. 2) is attached.

[0061] 15 , in the second assembly method, first, case member 300, to which substrate 150 (see FIG. 5) has not yet been attached, is placed at the bottom inside housing 100. At this time, as described above, case member 300 is placed so that mounting plate 310 faces rear panel 122. Case member 300 is fixed to housing 100 with screws via fixing parts 220 and the like.

[0062] Referring to FIG. 16 , next, a substrate 150 (first substrate 152 and second substrate 154) on which some of the electric circuit components 140 (low-voltage components 144) are mounted is prepared, and the substrate 150 is attached to the mounting plate 310 of the case member 300. Subsequently, wiring is performed as necessary. Finally, as shown in FIG. 14 , a cover member 500 is detachably attached to the case member 300. This completes the construction of the box 202 for protecting the substrate 150 from water. In this manner, a water-immersion box is provided within the housing 100. After this, the front panel 120 (see FIG. 2 ) is attached.

[0063] As described above, in charging device 50 according to the present embodiment, holding member 200 that holds board 150 is disposed at the bottom within housing 100. Holding member 200 is provided with waterproof box 202. Even if water seeps into housing 100, box 202 can prevent board 150 from becoming submerged in water. Cover member 500 that constitutes box 202 is detachably attached to case member 300. Removing cover member 500 exposes the board attached to case member 300, making it possible to perform work on board 150. Therefore, with the above configuration, it is possible to prevent a decrease in convenience or maintainability.

[0064] The case member 300 includes a mounting plate 310 to which the board 150 is attached, and a wall portion 320 provided around a board attachment area 304 on the mounting plate 310. The mounting plate 310 is disposed so as to face the rear panel 122 of the housing 100. The cover member 500 is attached to the wall portion 320 so as to face the mounting plate 310. This makes it possible to easily prevent a decrease in convenience or maintainability.

[0065] The wall portion 320 includes a first wall portion 322 erected on a lower edge portion 350 of the mounting plate 310, a second wall portion 324 erected on a right edge portion 352 of the mounting plate 310 and connected to the first wall portion 322, and a third wall portion 326 erected on a left edge portion 354 of the mounting plate 310 and connected to the first wall portion 322. The box 202 is configured to have an opening 204 at its top by attaching the cover member 500 to the first wall portion 322, the second wall portion 324, and the third wall portion 326. This allows heat generated by components mounted on the board 150 to be released to the outside of the box 202 through the upper opening 204. This also helps prevent condensation from forming inside the box 202.

[0066] Mounting plate 310 of case member 300 protrudes above box body 202. This makes it possible to mount a board (second board 154) that is too large to fit inside box body 202 to case member 300. Because mounting plate 310 protrudes above box body 202, second board 154 can be protected from water that has entered housing 100, as long as the water level does not exceed the height of box body 202.

[0067] The cover member 500 is formed by bending the metal plate 302, so that the mounting plate 310 and the wall portion 320 are integrally formed. This makes it possible to easily form the cover member 500.

[0068] By making the cover member 500 from a resin material, it is possible to reduce the weight of the holding member 200. Furthermore, by making the cover member 500 from a resin material, it is possible to reduce the weight of the cover member, which makes it easier to attach and detach the cover member 500.

[0069] By making the cover member 500 transparent, it becomes possible to observe the condition inside the box 202 without removing the cover member 500. Therefore, for example, if one simply wants to check the condition of the board 150 or the components mounted on the board 150, it is possible to avoid the trouble of removing the cover member 500. Therefore, with the above configuration, it is possible to further prevent a decrease in convenience or maintainability.

[0070] The electric circuit components 140 include high-voltage components 142 and low-voltage components 144, and the low-voltage components 144 are mounted on the board 150. A high-voltage circuit 146 constituted by the high-voltage components 142 is disposed in the upper part of the housing 100. This reduces the risk of water intrusion into the high-voltage circuit 146. Furthermore, even if the high-voltage components 142 are disposed in the upper part of the housing 100 to reduce the risk of water intrusion, the low-voltage components 144 can be disposed in the lower part of the housing 100 to prevent the center of gravity of the device from becoming too high.

[0071] The side panels of the housing 100 have a front panel 120 and a rear panel 122, the case member 300 is disposed so as to face the rear panel 122, and the cover member 500 is disposed so as to face the front panel 120. As a result, when the front panel 120 is removed, for example, for maintenance work or the like, the cover member 500 is positioned at the front, making it easy to remove the cover member 500. Therefore, by configuring it in this way, it is possible to further prevent a decrease in convenience or maintainability.

[0072] In the assembly method, after the board 150 on which some of the electric circuit components 140 are mounted is attached to the case member 300, the cover member 500 is detachably attached to the case member 300, thereby configuring a waterproof box 202. As a result, even if water seeps into the housing 100, the box 202 can prevent the board 150 from becoming submerged in water. The cover member 500 that configures the box 202 is detachably attached to the case member 300. Therefore, by removing the cover member 500, the board attached to the case member 300 is exposed, making it possible to perform work on the board 150. Therefore, with the above configuration, it is possible to prevent a decrease in convenience or maintainability.

[0073] Furthermore, according to the first assembly method, prior to the step of detachably attaching the cover member 500, the case member 300 to which the circuit board 150 is attached is placed at the bottom inside the housing 100. This makes it easy to attach the circuit board and also makes wiring work on the circuit board easier. Therefore, it is possible to further prevent a decrease in convenience.

[0074] On the other hand, according to the second assembly method, the case member 300 is disposed at the bottom inside the housing 100 prior to the step of attaching the board 150, which makes it easier to dispose the case member 300 inside the housing 100. Therefore, this also makes it possible to further suppress a decrease in convenience.
