Abstract
The present invention improves the strength of a piezoelectric body. This elastic wave device comprises: a support substrate that has a recess; a piezoelectric body that overlaps the recess in plan view; and an excitation electrode that is positioned on a surface of the piezoelectric body. When a bonded region is defined as a region of the piezoelectric body that is bonded to the support substrate, and a non-bonded region is defined as a region of the piezoelectric body that is not bonded to the support substrate, the piezoelectric body is thicker in the non-bonded region than in the bonded region.
