Abstract

A propylene glycol monomethyl ether acetate composition comprising propylene glycol 1-monomethyl ether 2-acetate and acetic acid, wherein the propylene glycol monomethyl ether acetate composition optionally contains formic acid and / or propionic acid, and the sum of the contents of the acetic acid, the propionic acid and the formic acid is 5 ppm or more and 60 ppm or less based on 100% by mass of the propylene glycol monomethyl ether acetate composition, and the dissolved oxygen (%) of the propylene glycol monomethyl ether acetate composition is 30.0% or less with respect to the saturated dissolved oxygen amount of water at atmospheric pressure and 25°C.
