METHOD FOR ASSEMBLING TRANSPARENT ACRYLIC PARTS FOR VESSELS.

Abstract

The method for assembling transparent acrylic parts for boats is a process for joining acrylic pieces thicker than 8 mm, where the joints are not visible after gluing and where a high degree of cohesion and adhesion is achieved. The process consists of preparing and cutting each acrylic piece to gluing the pieces together. First, it must be considered that the assembly of the pieces must have joints with at least two joining zones at different angles. To achieve this, a precise cut must be made on each piece. As shown in Figure 1, the assembly zone is made up of two areas: two vertical zones and one horizontal zone, meaning there are two 90° angles within the same assembly zone. Each gluing zone must be separated by at least one angle.
