MULTI-PORT FIBER OPTIC DOWNSPOUT TERMINAL BOX

Abstract

The terminal box has a base (10) and a cover (20) that define an internal cavity (IC) open at a peripheral rear edge to be seated and retained against a side flange (13) of the base (10). The cover (20) peripherally incorporates a side flange (25), and a seal (30), with an "L" section, is disposed between the side flange (13) and the side flange (25) and between a portion of the peripheral front wall (12) of the base (10) and a portion of the side walls (22) as well as the end walls (23) of the cover (20). The retaining means (40) press the side flange (25) of the cover (20) against the side flange (13) of the base (10), compressing the seal (30).Each end wall (23) of the cover (20) has an embedded intermediate wall (23a) provided with an input connector (CE) and, optionally, an output connector (CS), the outer end portions of which are set back from the peripheral contour of the terminal box.
