Abstract
The present invention relates to the creation of novel hybrid polymer-porfin, metallic porfin, or copper porfin films for use in an emerging category of optoelectronic devices. A simple and low-cost dispersion polymerization technique was developed, through which composite films were fabricated with copper porfin embedded in polymer matrices of polymethyl methacrylate and polystyrene. This invention focuses on the manufacture of composite films that have the semiconducting characteristics of porphyry, but with the possibility that these properties can be modulated, depending on the type of polymer matrix used, and that the mechanical properties of the composite films can even be improved; with the above, the performance of porphyry, metallic porphyry or semiconducting copper porphyry will be improved not only in this type of electrical behavior when protected under service conditions, loads, stresses and deformations inherent to the use of the device in which it is applied, but the presence of the polymer matrix will also favor its resistance to environmental conditions such as humidity.
