Abstract
Claims
1. An extrusion method for extracting oils from the fruit pulp of plants of the genus Persea spp., characterized in that it comprises the following steps: i) selecting fresh fruits of plants of the genus Persea spp.; ii) disinfecting the selected fruits with a sodium hypochlorite solution; iii) obtaining only the fruit pulp, removing peel and seed; iv) beating the obtained pulp for homogenization; v) subjecting the pulp from the previous step to extrusion conditions, with an extruder for the pre-treatment of avocado pulp; and vi) recovering the oil.
2. The method of the preceding claim, wherein the plants of the genus Persea spp. are of Persea americana Mill.
3. The method of the preceding claim, wherein the plants of Persea americana Mill. are of the cultivar 'Hass'.
4. The method according to claim 1, wherein the disinfection of the fruit was with a sodium hypochlorite solution at 100 ppm for 10 min.
5. The method of claim 1, wherein the beating of the pulp in step iv) is for 30 seconds at 3500 rpm.
6. The method according to claim 1, wherein the extruder apparatus is a single-screw extruder having a heating sleeve and a screw 171 mm long and 19 mm in diameter, the length:diameter ratio of which is 9:1; and the compression depth is 9.
7. The method according to claim 1, wherein the optimum extrusion condition is at 110°C and a screw speed of 5 rpm.
8. The method according to claim 1, wherein the oil recovery was done by centrifuging at 10,000 rpm, at 40QC, for 10 min.

Fruit pulp oils from plants of the genus Persea spp., obtained by the extrusion method in accordance with any of the preceding claims, characterized in that they comprise: i) an iodine value of 75.70 to 77.54 cg k / g; ii) an acid value of 1.11 to 1.27 %FA; iii) a peroxide value of 4.72 to 5.52 mEq O2 / kg; iv) phenols of 75.63 to 80.03 mg EAG / g; v) an oxidation induction temperature of 177.64 to 180.92°C; and vi) an oxidation induction time of 5.99 to 6.79 min.
10. The oils of the previous claim, where the plants of the genus Persea spp. are from Persea americana Mill.
11. The oils of the preceding claim, where the plants of Persea americana Mill. are of the cultivar 'Hass'.
