Abstract
The present invention relates to a gas detection device comprising: a primary power supply; a Wheatstone bridge circuit connected to the primary power supply, comprising: a sensor element that changes its electrical resistance when exposed to a gas of interest and variable precision resistors, wherein the Wheatstone bridge circuit delivers a first output voltage (V1) and a second output voltage (V2); a microcontroller that compares the first output voltage (V1) and the second voltage (V2), determining the presence of the gas of interest if the first output voltage (V1) is different from the second output voltage (V2); an oscillator circuit that defines the operating frequency of the microcontroller; and an alert module connected to the microcontroller, which, when activated, provides visual and / or audible notification of the presence of the gas of interest. The sensor element can be manufactured from different semiconductor metal oxides capable of detecting the presence of various hazardous gases in concentrations from 10 ppm, at temperatures greater than 150°C.
