INDUSTRIAL MODEL OF SLIDING BUTTON FOR SLAB REHEATING OVEN.

Abstract

A sliding jockey button is provided for use in a steel reheating furnace to reduce tear-type damage to a steel slab heated in the reheating furnace; the button includes a top surface that defines an interface surface area to receive the steel slab to be reheated, a bottom surface that can be engaged with a sliding assembly of the reheating furnace, a front surface, a back surface, and two opposing side surfaces positioned between the front and back surfaces; the overall height of the button between the bottom and top surfaces can be reduced to decrease the interface temperature of the button; the interface surface area can be increased to decrease the interface temperature of the button; the button can include rounded edges between each of the surfaces to reduce mechanical impact between the button and the steel slab.
