Abstract

Regarding the removal of a plant section from a greenhouse plant, a method is provided that involves the application of a device equipped with a detection system and a gripper. The detection system is used to create an image of a section of the greenhouse plant and to detect within the image at least one plant section to be removed and the course of a main branch to which the plant section is attached. Subsequently, the gripper is controlled to engage a detected plant section to be removed, at the connection point where the plant section connects to the main branch. The gripper is first positioned at the plant section and then moved along the plant section in the direction of the plant section's connection point.
