Abstract

This utility model discloses a process for producing mushroom spawn (Volvariella volvacea) using tobacco midribs and sawdust as the primary substrates. The method involves preparing and processing 25 kilograms of tobacco midribs, 25 kilograms of initially composted sawdust, and ½ kilogram of agricultural lime. Key steps include soaking the tobacco midribs to soften them, chopping them to size, and mixing them with sawdust and lime to form the substrate. The substrate's moisture content is adjusted to 50%-55%, after which it is filled into 470 ml glass jars and pasteurized for 8 hours. After cooling, mycelial blocks are inoculated into the prepared media, and the mixture is incubated for 1-2 weeks until full colonization. This method provides an efficient and sustainable approach to mushroom spawn production, utilizing agricultural by products.
