Body-Worn Personal Belongings Storage Device

Abstract

The present invention relates to a body-worn personal belongings storage device that allows at least one personal belonging to be stored within a waterproof body of the device. In one embodiment, the body is comprised of at least two compartments that allow for personal belongings to be separated. The device attaches around the body of the user via a strap that may have a first fastener and a second fastener that allow the strap to be adjusted to the desired tightness around the body of the user.

FIELD OF THE INVENTION

[0001] The present invention relates generally to the field of body-worn storage devices. More specifically, the present invention relates to a body-worn personal belongings storage device. The device allows at least one personal belonging to be stored within a waterproof body of the device. In one embodiment, the body is comprised of at least two compartments that allow for personal belongings to be separated. The device attaches around the body of the user via a strap that may have a first fastener and a second fastener that allow the strap to be adjusted to the desired tightness around the body of the user. Accordingly, the present disclosure makes specific reference thereto. Nonetheless, it is to be appreciated that aspects of the present invention are also equally applicable to other like applications, devices, and methods of manufacture.BACKGROUND

[0002] Many individuals carry a cell phone and other personal belongings on their person while running, walking, hiking, exercising, etc. However, a cell phone and other personal belongings can easily fall out of an individual's pockets during said activities. Having a personal belonging fall out of a pocket can lead to damage and / or the loss of the belonging, which is undesirable.

[0003] Therefore, there exists a long-felt need in the art for a device that allows a user to carry a cell phone and other personal belongings on their person. There also exists a long-felt need in the art for a body-worn personal belonging storage device that secures a cell phone and other personal belongings to a user while running, walking, hiking, exercising, etc. In addition, there exists a long-felt need in the art for a body-worn personal belonging storage device that secures a cell phone and other personal belongings to the user and protects a cell phone and other personal belongings from water damage.

[0004] The subject matter disclosed and claimed herein, in one embodiment thereof, comprises a body-worn personal belongings storage device. The device is primarily comprised of at least one strap and at least one compartment. A personal belonging can be stored within a waterproof body of the device. In one embodiment, the body is comprised of at least two compartments that allow for personal belongings to be separated. The device attaches around the body of the user via a strap. The strap may be comprised of a first fastener and a second fastener that allow the strap to be adjusted to the desired tightness around the body of the user.

The strap may be made from any fabric or other material known in the art.

The first fastener is preferably a hook fastener or a loop fastener. The strap may also be comprised of at least one second fastener that is preferably positioned on the first fastener. The second fastener is preferably a different fastener type than the first fastener and improves the attachment and retention of the first fastener.

Personal belongings can be placed within the body via at least one opening that can be closed using at least one fastener. In one embodiment, the body has one continuous space. In another embodiment, the body has at least one divider that allows the body to be divided into at least two compartments. This embodiment separates personal belongings stored in the body.

This allows the body to become smaller in size by allowing the first compartment to securely attach to the second compartment to give the device a smaller, more comfortable, and more concealable footprint when worn.

The device 100 is primarily comprised of at least one strap 110 and at least one compartment 130. The device 100 is comprised of at least one strap 110 that attaches to the body 120. The strap 110 allows the device 100 to be worn around the arm, leg, wrist, chest, waist, or other body part or body area of a user. The strap 110 may be in the form of a continuous loop or at least two continuous pieces. The strap 110 may removably attach to the body 120 via at least one fastener 122 such as, but not limited to, hook and loop, adhesive, snap button, magnet, stitches, etc. In another embodiment, the strap 110 is fixedly attached to the body 110 via the fastener 122 or other attachment mechanism.

[0025] The strap 110 may be made from any fabric or other material known in the art. However, the strap 110 is preferably made from an elastic material (or other stretchable material of the like). This allows the strap 110 to comfortably fit around the arm, leg, wrist, chest, waist, or other body part or body area of a user.

The body 120 may be any color and may be comprised of at least one indicia 150 such as, but not limited to, patterns, logos, emblems, images, symbols, designs, letters, numbers, words, characters, animals, advertisements, brands, etc. The body 120 may be opaque to conceal personal belongings stored within the body 120, such as, but not limited to, a cell phone, wallet, headphone case, etc. In another embodiment, the body 120 may be transparent or semi-opaque to allow a user to see that their personal belonging is still contained within the body 120. The body 120 is preferably made from a waterproof material to protect personal belongings within the body 120 from water damage.

[0031] Personal belongings can be placed within the body 120 via at least one opening 126 of the body 120. The opening 126 can be closed using at least one fastener 128. The fastener 128 may be any type known in the art such as, but not limited to, zipper, hook and loop, magnet, snap button, etc. The fastener 128 preferably creates a waterproof seal of the opening 126.

[0032] In one embodiment, the body 120 has one continuous space that can receive personal belongings. In another embodiment, the body 110 has at least one divider 124 that allows the body 110 to be divided into at least two compartments 130, 140. This embodiment separates personal belongings stored in the body 120 (i.e., separating a cell phone from keys). The divider 124 may be any removable or non-removable fastener known in the art such as, but not limited to, hook and loop fasteners, a magnet fastener, a zip fastener, an adhesive fastener, a seam, a stitch, etc.

[0033] An embodiment of the body 120 with two compartments 130, 140 can be folded during use, as seen in FIG. 2 and FIG. 3. In this embodiment, the exterior of both compartments 130, 140 may be comprised of at least one fastener 132, 142. The fasteners 132, 142 are preferably reciprocating fasteners such as, but not limited to, hook and loop, snap button, magnet, etc. This allows the body 120 to become smaller in size by allowing the first compartment 130 to securely attach to the second compartment 140 to give the device 100 a smaller, more comfortable, and more concealable footprint when worn.

1. A body-worn personal belonging storage device comprising:a strap comprised of a first fastener;a body attached to the strap; anda second fastener positioned along the body.

2. The body-worn personal belonging storage device of claim 1, wherein the body is comprised of a transparent material.

3. The body-worn personal belonging storage device of claim 1, wherein the strap is comprised of an elastic material.

4. The body-worn personal belonging storage device of claim 1, wherein the first fastener is comprised of hook fastener, a loop fastener, an adhesive fastener, a snap button fastener, or a magnet fastener.

5. A body-worn personal belonging storage device comprising:a strap;a first fastener;a second fastener;a body attached to the strap; anda third fastener positioned along the body.

6. The body-worn personal belonging storage device of claim 5, wherein the first fastener is comprised of hook fastener, a loop fastener, an adhesive fastener, a snap button fastener, or a magnet fastener.

7. The body-worn personal belonging storage device of claim 5, wherein the second fastener is comprised of a snap button fastener.

8. A body-worn personal belonging storage device comprising:a strap;a first fastener positioned along the strap;a body attached to the strap;a second fastener;a third fastener; anda divider.

9. The body-worn personal belonging storage device of claim 8, wherein the body is comprised of a first compartment and a second compartment.

10. The body-worn personal belonging storage device of claim 9, wherein the divider separates the first compartment from the second compartment.

11. The body-worn personal belonging storage device of claim 8, wherein the divider is comprised of a removable divider.

12. The body-worn personal belonging storage device of claim 11, wherein the divider is comprised of a hook and loop fastener, a magnet fastener, a zip fastener, or an adhesive fastener.

13. The body-worn personal belonging storage device of claim 8, wherein the second fastener is comprised of a snap button fastener.

14. The body-worn personal belonging storage device of claim 8, wherein the second fastener is comprised of a zipper fastener.

15. The body-worn personal belonging storage device of claim 8, wherein the third fastener is comprised of a snap button fastener.

16. The body-worn personal belonging storage device of claim 8, wherein the body is removably attached to the strap via a fourth fastener.

17. The body-worn personal belonging storage device of claim 16, wherein the fourth fastener is comprised of a hook and loop fastener, an adhesive fastener, a snap button fastener, or a magnet fastener.

18. The body-worn personal belonging storage device of claim 8, wherein the body is comprised of a waterproof material.

19. The body-worn personal belonging storage device of claim 8, wherein the body is comprised of an indicia.

20. The body-worn personal belonging storage device of claim 8 further comprised of a second strap.
