Abstract
Description
TECHNICAL FIELD
[0001] The embodiments generally relate to the technical field of ergonomic hand support devices, specifically to a gaming finger splint glove designed to mitigate hand strain and prevent excessive finger and wrist movement during prolonged computer or gaming use.BACKGROUND
[0002] Prolonged computer and gaming use often leads to hand strain, discomfort, and even long-term musculoskeletal issues such as repetitive strain injuries (RSI), carpal tunnel syndrome, and tendonitis. These conditions arise from prolonged static positioning, excessive finger movements, and improper hand posture while interacting with keyboards, mice, and game controllers. Existing solutions, such as compression gloves and basic splints, provide partial relief but fail to comprehensively address sideways (adduction / abduction) and up-down (hyperextension / hyperflexion) finger movements, which contribute significantly to strain and fatigue.
[0003] Traditional gaming gloves primarily focus on compression-based support, which improves circulation but does not effectively restrict excessive movement. On the other hand, medical splints provide rigid support but lack adjustability and comfort, making them impractical for long gaming sessions. Neither solution offers a fully integrated approach to hand protection that maintains dexterity while reducing strain from gaming-related repetitive movements.
[0004] To address these shortcomings, the present invention introduces a gaming finger splint glove with removable torque-control splints, adjustable bands, and a palm pocket structure that work together to limit unwanted finger movement while maintaining flexibility. Unlike conventional gloves, this design provides targeted movement restriction without impairing circulation or dexterity. The adjustability and modular design allow users to tailor the level of support to their specific needs, making it ideal for both injury prevention and rehabilitationSUMMARY
[0005] This summary is provided to introduce a variety of concepts in a simplified form that is further disclosed in the detailed description of the embodiments. This summary is not intended to identify key or essential inventive concepts of the claimed subject matter, nor is it intended to determine the scope of the claimed subject matter.
[0006] In one aspect, the disclosed glove may include a gaming finger splint glove constructed and arranged to integrates torque-control splints, adjustable support bands, and a palm pocket structure to provide targeted movement restriction, preventing hyperextension, hyperflexion, and lateral finger deviation while ensuring optimal comfort and circulation. This glove is applicable to computer users, gamers, and individuals requiring hand support due to repetitive strain injuries (RSI) or other hand-related conditions.
[0007] The disclosed glove is a gaming finger splint glove designed to reduce hand strain and prevent excessive finger movement during extended computer and gaming use. Unlike traditional compression gloves or rigid splints, this glove integrates torque-control splints, adjustable bands, and a palm pocket structure to provide targeted support while maintaining flexibility and circulation.
[0008] Each finger channel contains removable splints that work with strategically placed adjustable bands to limit both sideways (adduction / abduction) and vertical (hyperextension / hyperflexion) movements, particularly benefiting the pinky and index fingers, which endure significant strain during keyboard and mouse use. The palm pocket structure helps redistribute pressure, reducing fatigue from prolonged gripping. Additionally, a splinted wristband ensures proper wrist alignment, preventing excessive pronation and supination.
[0009] The disclosed glove is fully adjustable, allowing users to customize the level of support based on their needs, making it beneficial for both injury prevention and rehabilitation. Unlike traditional designs, the open-finger structure ensures adequate blood flow and dexterity, addressing a major limitation of compression gloves.

[0019] The specific details of the single embodiment or variety of embodiments described herein are set forth in this application. Any specific details of the embodiments described herein are used for demonstration purposes only, and no unnecessary limitation(s) or inference(s) are to be understood or imputed therefrom.
[0020] Before describing exemplary embodiments in detail, it is noted that the embodiments reside primarily in combinations of components related to devices and systems. Accordingly, the device components have been represented where appropriate by conventional symbols in the drawings, showing only those specific details that are pertinent to understanding the embodiments of the present disclosure so as not to obscure the disclosure with details that will be readily apparent to those of ordinary skill in the art having the benefit of the description herein.
[0021] A gaming finger splint glove may be used to reduce hand strain and prevent excessive finger movement during extended computer and gaming use. The glove incorporates several key components, including a glove body, one or more rigid members, adjustable bands, a palm pocket structure, and a splinted wristband. These elements work together to provide targeted movement restriction while maintaining flexibility and comfort.
[0022] The glove may be made from a breathable, lightweight material that allows for extended use without causing discomfort or excessive perspiration. It may be designed as a fingerless glove or a full-fingered variant, depending on user preference. The glove body serves as the base structure onto which the other functional components are integrated.
[0023] One or more rigid members may be hingedly attached to the exterior of the glove. These rigid members, or splints, may be constructed from a durable yet lightweight material such as plastic, composite materials, or lightweight metals. The splints are arranged to prevent adduction and abduction of one or more fingers, thereby reducing the lateral strain often experienced during extended gaming or computer use. The splints may be removable, allowing users to adjust the level of support based on their needs.
[0024] Adjustable bands may be attached to both the rigid members and the exterior of the glove. These bands may be made from an elastic or semi-rigid material that provides controlled resistance to movement. Positioned strategically across the fingers, particularly near the knuckles, these bands help prevent hyperextension and hyperflexion while allowing natural flexion required for keypressing or mouse operation. The bands may be adjustable in tension, enabling users to customize the degree of restriction and support based on their comfort and activity level.
[0025] A palm pocket structure may be incorporated into the glove to help distribute pressure across the hand. This structure may be formed from a cushioned or padded material designed to alleviate strain from prolonged gripping, such as when using a mouse or controller. The pocket may conform to the user's palm shape, enhancing overall ergonomic support.
[0026] A splinted wristband may be included to maintain proper wrist alignment. The wristband may feature integrated rigid or semi-rigid support elements that help prevent excessive pronation and supination, which are common contributors to wrist strain. The wristband may also be adjustable to accommodate different wrist sizes and comfort preferences.
[0027] Unlike traditional compression gloves, which primarily focus on circulation improvement, this design provides structured movement control without restricting blood flow. The open-finger design may enhance dexterity while ensuring the necessary support to prevent strain-related injuries. The modular nature of the components allows for customization based on the user's specific needs, making the glove suitable for both injury prevention and rehabilitation purposes.
[0028] By integrating these features, a gaming finger splint glove offers a comprehensive solution for individuals who experience hand fatigue, discomfort, or injury from prolonged computer or gaming activities. The combination of movement restriction, ergonomic design, and adjustable support provides a significant advancement in hand protection technology.
