[0002] The present application relates to the field of energy storage technology, and in particular to a battery pack and an energy storage system. Background Art
[0003] Low-voltage energy storage systems are widely used in a variety of scenarios, including homes, industrial equipment, and energy storage and power generation in areas with unstable or no electricity, to optimize energy efficiency. Energy storage systems typically consist of multiple battery packs arranged in a vertically stacked configuration.
[0004] To achieve parallel operation of multiple battery packs, the positive terminals of adjacent battery packs are connected by wires, and the negative terminals of adjacent battery packs are connected by wires, thereby achieving parallel connection of multiple battery packs. However, in existing battery packs, the positive and negative terminals are led out from the same side and are arranged adjacent to each other. This results in dense and cluttered wiring during parallel connection, making subsequent maintenance inconvenient and easily causing short circuits between the positive and negative terminals. Technical issues
[0005] The present application provides a battery pack that can avoid dense and messy wiring when the battery packs are connected in parallel, thereby reducing the risk of short circuits.
[0006] The present application provides an energy storage system. By providing the above-mentioned battery pack, it is possible to avoid dense and messy wiring when the battery packs are connected in parallel, facilitate subsequent maintenance, and reduce the risk of short circuits. Solution
[0007] In a first aspect, an embodiment of the present application provides a battery pack, comprising:
[0008] A box body, wherein a first panel of the box body is provided with a first terminal and a second terminal, the length direction of the first panel is a first direction, and the first terminal and the second terminal are respectively located on both sides of the first panel along the first direction;
[0009] A battery module is arranged in the box, and the battery module includes multiple battery cells arranged in series. The battery cells located at the beginning of the series loop are connected to the first output row, and the battery cells located at the end of the series loop are connected to the second output row. The first output row and the second output row are respectively located on both sides of the battery module along the first direction. The first output row is electrically connected to the first terminal, and the second output row is electrically connected to the second terminal.
[0010] In a second aspect, an embodiment of the present application provides an energy storage system, comprising a plurality of the above-mentioned battery packs, wherein the plurality of battery packs are stacked and arranged in parallel along the height direction of the first panel, the first terminal blocks of the plurality of battery packs are located on the same side and are connected by a first power line, and the second terminal blocks of the plurality of battery packs are located on the same side and are connected by a second power line. Beneficial effects
[0011] The present application provides a battery pack that, by extending the first and second output rows from both sides of the battery module along a first direction, facilitates extending the first and second terminals from both sides of the first panel along the first direction, so that the first output row corresponds to the position of the first terminal, and the second output row corresponds to the position of the second terminal. Because the first and second terminals are provided separately on both sides, when multiple battery packs are connected in parallel, clear and regular wiring can be ensured, facilitating parallel installation and subsequent maintenance. It is also difficult to misconnect the positive and negative poles, reducing the risk of short circuits.
[0012] The energy storage system provided in the present application, by providing the above-mentioned battery pack, can avoid dense and messy wiring when the battery packs are connected in parallel, facilitate subsequent maintenance, and reduce the risk of short circuits. [0024] This embodiment provides a battery pack 100 and an energy storage system. As shown in FIG1 , the energy storage system includes multiple battery packs 100 stacked and arranged in parallel. In an optional embodiment, as shown in FIG1 , three battery packs 100 are provided. In other embodiments, other numbers of battery packs 100 may be provided based on actual needs, and this is not limited here.
[0025] As shown in Figures 2 and 3, the battery pack 100 includes a housing 10 and a battery module 20 disposed within the housing 10. The housing 10 includes a shell 12 and a first panel 11. The shell 12 is open at one end, and the first panel 11 is located at the front of the shell 12 and is configured to block the opening of the shell 12 to form a closed cavity. For ease of understanding, the length of the housing 10 is the front-to-back direction, which is also referred to as the second direction below. The width of the housing 10 is the left-to-right direction, which is also referred to as the first direction below. The height of the housing 10 is the up-down direction, which is also referred to as the height direction of the first panel 11 and the third direction below.
[0026] A first terminal 111 and a second terminal 112 are provided on the first panel 11 of the box body 10. The first terminal 111 and the second terminal 112 are respectively located on both sides of the first panel 11 along the first direction (left and right direction). One of the first terminal 111 and the second terminal 112 is a positive terminal and the other is a negative terminal. The battery module 20 includes a plurality of battery cells 21 arranged in series, which are square shell battery cells. The plurality of battery cells 21 are connected in series in sequence to form a series circuit. The battery cell 21 located at the head end of the series circuit is connected to the first output row 22, and the battery cell 21 located at the end of the series circuit is connected to the second output row 23. The first output row 22 and the second output row 23 are respectively located on both sides of the battery module 20 along the first direction (left and right direction). One of the first output row 22 and the second output row 23 is a positive output row, and the other is a negative output row. The first output row 22 corresponds to the polarity of the first terminal 111, and the second output row 23 corresponds to the polarity of the second terminal 112. The first output row 22 is electrically connected to the first terminal 111, and the second output row 23 is electrically connected to the second terminal 112, thereby realizing voltage output.
[0027] By extending the first output row 22 and the second output row 23 from the left and right sides of the battery module 20, respectively, it is convenient to extend the first and second terminals 111, 112, from the left and right sides of the first panel 11, respectively. This allows the first output row 22 to correspond to the position of the first terminal 111, and the second output row 23 to correspond to the position of the second terminal 112. Because the first and second terminals 111, 112 are arranged separately on the left and right sides, when multiple battery packs 100 are stacked and connected in parallel along the height of the first panel 11, referring to FIG1 , the first terminals 111 of the multiple battery packs 100 are located on the same side (left) and connected by the first power line 200, while the second terminals 112 of the multiple battery packs 100 are located on the same side (right) and connected by the second power line 300. This ensures clear and regular power line routing, facilitates parallel installation and subsequent maintenance, and prevents incorrect connection between the positive and negative poles, reducing the risk of short circuits.
[0028] In an optional embodiment, as shown in FIG3 , the battery pack 100 further includes a battery management system (BMS) module 30 . The BMS module 30 is disposed within the housing 12 and adjacent to the opening of the housing 12 . A first panel 11 is provided on the front of the BMS module 30 , which seals the opening of the housing 12 to form a closed housing 10 . In other words, the first panel 11 constituting the housing 10 is also the first panel 11 of the BMS module 30 . The housing 10 and the BMS module 30 share a single first panel 11 , simplifying the structure of the battery pack 100 and reducing manufacturing costs. Furthermore, the first output row 22 can be electrically connected to the first terminal 111 via a connector or wiring harness built into the BMS module 30 , and the second output row 23 can be electrically connected to the second terminal 112 via a connector or wiring harness built into the BMS module 30 .
[0029] In an optional embodiment, as shown in FIG3 , multiple battery cells 21 are stacked and arranged horizontally. By laying multiple battery cells 21 horizontally, it is convenient to lead the first output row 22 and the second output row 23 out from the left and right sides of the battery module 20 respectively.
[0030] In an optional embodiment, as shown in Figure 3, the battery pack 100 includes two groups of battery modules 20, which are arranged side by side along a first direction (left-right direction) and connected in series to form a 48V system. Among the two battery modules 20, the left side of the left battery module 20 is provided with a first output row 22, and the right side of the right battery module 20 is provided with a second output row 23.
[0031] In an optional embodiment, as shown in Figures 4 and 5, a battery module 20 includes eight battery cells 21, which are stacked in two layers in the vertical direction, with four battery cells 21 placed flat in each layer. Each battery cell 21 includes a first electrode 211 and a second electrode 212, and the first electrode 211 and the second electrode 212 are located on the same side of the battery cell 21. One of the first electrode 211 and the second electrode 212 is a positive electrode, and the other is a negative electrode.
[0032] In the first direction (left-right direction), the two battery cells 21 arranged side by side face opposite directions, that is, in the left-right direction, one end of the electrodes of the two battery cells 21 face opposite directions, and the first electrodes 211 and the second electrodes 212 of the two battery cells 21 are staggered, that is, the first electrode 211 of the left battery cell 21 and the second electrode 212 of the right battery cell 21 are located on the same side, and the second electrode 212 of the left battery cell 21 and the first electrode 211 of the right battery cell 21 are located on the same side, the first electrode 211 of one of the left battery cells 21 is connected to the first output row 22, and the second electrode 212 of one of the right battery cells 21 is connected to the second output row 23.
[0033] In two battery cells 21 adjacent to each other in the second direction (front-rear direction), the second electrode 212 of the front battery cell 21 and the first electrode 211 of the rear battery cell 21 are disposed adjacent to each other.
[0034] In the third direction (up and down direction), the large surfaces of two adjacent battery cells 21 are in contact with each other, and the first electrodes 211 and the second electrodes 212 of the two battery cells 21 are alternately arranged, that is, the first electrode 211 of the upper battery cell 21 and the second electrode 212 of the lower battery cell 21 are located on the same side, and the second electrode 212 of the upper battery cell 21 and the first battery cell 21 of the lower battery cell 21 are located on the same side.
[0035] Referring to Figure 3, among the multiple battery cells 21, the two battery cells 21 located on the front side of the upper layer are respectively the head battery cell 213 and the tail battery cell 214, the first electrode 211 of the head battery cell 213 is connected to the first output row 22, and the second electrode 212 of the tail battery cell 214 is connected to the second output row 23, and the first electrodes 211 and the second electrodes 212 of the two adjacent battery cells 21 are connected in series through the intermediate series row 24, and each intermediate series row 24 is connected to the corresponding electrode by welding, riveting, etc.
[0036] When the battery modules 20 are arranged in two groups, as shown in FIG6 , the second output row 23 of the first battery module 20 is connected to the first output row 22 of the second battery module 20, thereby achieving a series connection between the terminal cells 214 of the first battery module 20 and the first terminal cells 213 of the second battery module 20, thereby achieving a series connection between the two battery modules 20. The first output row 22 of the first battery module 20 and the second output row 23 of the second battery module 20 are located at the left and right ends, respectively. The first output row 22 of the first battery module 20 is communicatively connected to the first terminal 111, and the second output row 23 of the second battery module 20 is communicatively connected to the second terminal 112.
[0037] By arranging the multiple battery cells 21 in the battery module 20 in a flat and stacked arrangement, it is convenient to lead out the first output row 22 and the second output row 23 from the left and right ends of the battery module 20 respectively, thereby facilitating the first terminal 111 and the second terminal 112 to be led out on the left and right sides of the first panel 11 respectively. When multiple battery packs 100 are connected in parallel, the routing of the power lines can be ensured to be clear and regular, which facilitates parallel installation and subsequent maintenance, and it is not easy to connect the positive and negative poles incorrectly, reducing the risk of short circuit.
[0038] In other embodiments, different voltage requirements may be met by changing the number of battery cells 21 connected in series in each battery module 20 or by changing the number of battery modules 20 .
[0039] In an optional embodiment, as shown in Figures 2 and 3 , the first panel 11 is further provided with a first communication port 113 and a second communication port 114. The first communication port 113 and the second communication port 114 are spaced apart along the height (vertical direction) of the first panel 11. Referring to Figure 1 , taking the first communication port 113 as an input port and the second communication port 114 as an output port as an example, the first communication port 113 of one battery pack 100 and the second communication port 114 of an adjacent battery pack 100 are adjacently arranged and communicatively connected via a communication line 400. The first communication port 113 of the topmost battery pack 100 and the second communication port 114 of the bottommost battery pack 100 are each communicatively connected to an external device via the communication line 400 to implement communication with the external device. Therefore, by separating the first communication port 113 and the second communication port 114 at the top and bottom, cascade communication can be achieved for the top and bottom terminals, respectively, preventing mixed insertions and providing clear, simple wiring and convenient installation. In an optional embodiment, as shown in FIG4 , a temperature averaging plate 27 is provided between two adjacent battery cells 21 in the third direction. The temperature averaging plate 27 is in contact with the large surface of the battery cells 21, maximizing the contact area between the temperature averaging plate 27 and the battery cells 21, thereby increasing the effective heat dissipation area and thermal conductivity, and enhancing temperature consistency between the battery cells 21. Optionally, the temperature averaging plate 27 is a copper plate with good thermal conductivity. In actual applications, a whole temperature averaging plate 27 can be placed directly between the upper and lower layers of battery cells 21.
[0040] In an optional embodiment, the vapor chamber 27 is hollow and filled with a phase change material, such as a copper vapor chamber (VC). This configuration allows the vapor chamber 27 to not only maintain a uniform temperature but also absorb the expansion force of the battery cells 21, ensuring the performance and service life of the battery cells 21.
[0041] In an optional embodiment, as shown in Figure 5, the battery module 20 further includes two fixing straps 26 and two end plates 25. The two end plates 25 are spaced apart and opposed to each other in the thickness direction (vertical direction) of the battery cells 21. Multiple battery cells 21 are positioned between the two end plates 25. The two fixing straps 26 are respectively fitted onto the two end plates 25 to securely bind the battery cells 21 and the end plates 25 together, forming an integrated battery module 20 and ensuring the overall strength of the battery module 20. The fixing straps 26 can be made of steel, which provides increased structural strength.
[0042] In an optional embodiment, in order to limit the movement of the fixing belt 26, a limiting groove is provided on the end plate 25, and the fixing belt 26 is accommodated in the limiting groove to limit the fixing belt 26, ensuring that the fixing belt 26 is not easily displaced during the bundling process, thereby improving the stability of the bundling.
[0043] In an optional embodiment, as shown in FIG2 , a handle 115 is provided on the first panel 11. The handle 115 facilitates taking and placing the battery pack 100.
[0044] In an optional embodiment, the handle 115 can be hinged to the first panel 11, and the first panel 11 can also be provided with a groove configured to accommodate the handle 115. When the handle 115 is not in use, it can be rotated into the groove for storage without affecting the normal use of the battery pack 100. When the handle 115 is needed, it can be rotated out of the groove, and the battery pack 100 can be taken in and out of the handle 115, providing flexible and convenient use.
