AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Existing multi-signature transaction systems on blockchain networks lack flexibility and complexity in imposing conditions for multiple signatures, leading to limitations in hierarchical and organizational structures.

Method used

A computer-implemented method generates blockchain transactions using a locking script that evaluates the output of signature validation, employing monotone Boolean functions and vectorization scripts to create a binary vector, allowing for more complex and flexible conditions, ensuring that no party can invalidate a transaction by simply adding their signature.

Benefits of technology

This approach enables more sophisticated and controlled multi-signature transactions by using monotone Boolean functions to ensure that only valid combinations of signatures can unlock transactions, enhancing security and flexibility in hierarchical structures.

Abstract

A computer-implemented method of generating a blockchain transaction, wherein the method is performed by a first party and comprises: generating a first transaction, wherein the first transaction comprises a first script, the first script comprising a sequence of respective signature verification sub-scripts, wherein each respective signature verification sub-script comprises one or more respective public key representations, and wherein the first script is configured to, when executed with a second script of a second transaction: i) produce an output comprising a sequence of respective values, one respective value per respective signature verification sub-script, wherein each respective value indicates whether the second script comprises a respective signature corresponding one, some or each of the one or more respective public key representations of the respective signature verification sub-script, and ii) evaluate a function on the output to determine whether one or more conditions have been satisfied.
