Abstract
Description
Sports gloves
[0001] The present invention relates to sports gloves used in swinging sports including golf and / or baseball.
[0002] Sports gloves have traditionally been worn in sports including golf and baseball to ensure a firm grip, reduce strain on the palm, and protect the hand from injury. Such sports gloves generally have a glove body made of leather, artificial leather, cloth, or the like.
[0003] However, while conventional sports gloves can achieve the original purposes of ensuring a secure grip, reducing strain on the palm, and protecting the hand from injury, they cannot provide any additional effects, such as increasing the distance of the ball, correcting the swing, or strengthening the impact.
[0004] Therefore, for example, in the golf glove described in Patent Document 1, a weight part is attached to the back of the glove body in the area between the first and second metacarpal bones, excluding the area above the first metacarpal bone. This configuration is said to enable the user to make an ideal golf swing that is not strained by the user's skeletal structure.
[0005] JP 2015-70901 A
[0006] However, in conventional sports gloves, including the golf glove described in Patent Document 1, the position of the weight is limited to the area between the first and second metacarpal bones, far from the grip end, making it impossible to start swinging a golf club or bat quickly, improve swing speed, and strengthen the impact.
[0007] Therefore, an object of the present invention is to provide a sports glove that allows a golf club or bat to be swung down quickly, improving swing speed and strengthening the impact.
[0008] In order to achieve the above-mentioned object, the sports glove of the present invention is a sports glove comprising five finger portions, a base portion that accommodates the back and palm of the hand, and a first weight portion that is attached to the back side of the hand of the base portion at a position corresponding to the fourth metacarpal bone and the fifth metacarpal bone.
[0009] As described above, the sports glove of the present invention is a sports glove that includes five finger portions, a base portion that accommodates the back and palm of the hand, and a first weight portion that is attached to the back side of the hand of the base portion at a position corresponding to the fourth metacarpal bone and the fifth metacarpal bone. With this configuration, the gravity of the weight can be utilized when swinging a golf club or bat, allowing for a quick start and improved swing speed, thereby increasing the distance of the shot and making a more reliable hit.
[0010] FIG. 1 is a plan view of a sports glove of Example 1 with the back belt and wrist belt open; FIG. 2 is a plan view of a sports glove of Example 1 with the back belt and wrist belt closed; FIG. 3 is a bottom view of a sports glove of Example 1 with the wrist belt open; FIG. 4 is an enlarged view of a weight part of Example 1; (a) is a front view, and (b) is a cross-sectional view; FIG. 5 is an operation diagram of a sports glove; (b) is a plan view of a sports glove of Example 2 with the back belt and wrist belt open; and FIG. 6 is an enlarged cross-sectional view of a weight part of Example 2.
[0011] Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. However, the components described in the following examples are merely examples and are not intended to limit the technical scope of the present invention to those. In the following examples, an example will be described in which a sports glove (1) is used in baseball, for example, but the present invention is not limited to this. It can also be used in golf, and the present invention can be applied to any sport in which a stick-shaped tool is used for swinging.
[0012] (Configuration) First, the overall configuration of a sports glove 1 of the present invention will be described using Figure 1. The sports glove 1 of the present invention is formed from a material such as leather, synthetic leather, or synthetic fiber, and as shown in Figures 1 and 2, comprises five finger portions 21 to 25, a base portion 30 that accommodates the back and palm of the hand, and a first weight portion 51 that is attached to the back side 31 of the base portion 30 at positions corresponding to the fourth metacarpal bone 94 to the fifth metacarpal bone 95.
[0013] The five finger sections 21 to 25 are composed of finger sections 21, 22, 23, 24, and 25, which respectively accommodate the thumb, index finger, middle finger, ring finger, and little finger. Each of the finger sections 21 to 25 is formed in a cylindrical or bag-like shape with a closed tip, and each has a different length.
[0014] The base unit 30 is configured in a cylindrical shape to accommodate the back side 31 and palm side 32 of the hand. In this embodiment, a first weight unit 51 is attached to the back side 31 of the base unit 30 at a position corresponding to the fourth metacarpal bone 94 to the fifth metacarpal bone 95. In other words, the first weight unit 51 is located on the back side 31 of the hand of the base unit 30 near the edge on the little finger side, which is closest to the grip end. The detailed structure of the first weight unit 51 will be described later with reference to FIG. 4.
[0015] Furthermore, the sports glove 1 has a back belt part 41 that fastens the back side 31 of the base part 30. This buckle belt part 41 has a hook and loop fastener 41M arranged on the inner surface, and is adapted to engage with and be fixed to a hook and loop fastener 30M arranged at a position corresponding to the second metacarpal bone through the third metacarpal bone on the back side 31 of the base part 30. When the back belt part 41 is closed, it covers the first weight part 51.
[0016] The back belt part 41 has a display part 41a on its surface (outer surface) that can display photos, pictures, letters, etc. More specifically, the back belt part 41 is composed of the display part 41a and a cover part 41b that covers it. The display part 41a is shaped like a pass case, and when a photo or message card is placed in the thin case part, it can be seen from the outside through the transparent part, making it possible to lift or calm the spirits during a competition.
[0017] The sports glove 1 also includes a wrist section 60 that accommodates the wrist and is continuous with and integral with the base section 30. The wrist section 60 has a second weight section 52 disposed at a position corresponding to the outer side (back of the hand) of the wrist, and a third weight section 53 disposed at a position corresponding to the inner side (palm side) of the wrist. The configurations of the second weight section 52 and the third weight section 53 will be described later.
[0018] The sports glove 1 of this embodiment further includes a wrist belt 42 that tightens around the wrist, and the second weight 52 and the third weight 53 are covered by the wrist belt 42. That is, the width (vertical width) of the wrist belt 42 is approximately the same as that of the wrist portion 60, and the length of the wrist belt 42 is approximately three times the length (horizontal width) of the wrist portion 60. Furthermore, a hook-and-loop fastener 42M is disposed on the inner surface of the wrist belt 42, which wraps around the wrist to cover the weights 52 and 53 and is finally fastened on the outside.
[0019] Next, the configurations of the first weight section 51, the second weight section 52, and the third weight section 53, which have similar configurations, will be described using Figure 4. These weight sections 51, 52, and 53 are configured in the shape of an openable and closable bag, and are capable of storing multiple lead plates 51c, etc. inside. That is, the first weight section 51 is composed of a bag 51a, an openable and closable fastener 51b, and one or multiple lead plates 51c, etc.
[0020] Therefore, by sliding fastener 51b and opening bag 51a to insert or remove lead plates 51c, ..., it is possible to freely adjust the weight of weight sections 51, 52, 53 at three locations on sports glove 1. Furthermore, by tightening weight sections 51, 52, 53 from the outside with back belt section 41 and wrist belt section 42 described above, it is possible to improve the unity with sports glove 1 and protect the hand from external injury.
[0021] <Experiment 1: Baseball swing>
[0022] (Experimental conditions) Each batter swung the bat 50 times, and the swing speed was measured using a speed measuring device. No balls were hit. Comparison was made between the following cases 1 to 3. Case 1: Both hands bare Case 2: Left hand wearing a sports glove (first weight 45g only); right hand bare Case 3: Left hand wearing a sports glove (first weight 45g, second weight 30g, third weight 30g); right hand bare
[0023] (Results) Case 1: 79-84km / h Case 2: 85-87km / h Case 3: 87-94km / h
[0024] (Discussion) Compared to swinging with both hands bare, the swing speed measured in Case 2, where a sports glove (first weight 45g only) was worn on the left hand, and in Case 3, where a sports glove (first weight 45g, second weight 30g, third weight 30g) was worn on the left hand, was faster. Also, in Cases 2 and 3, the swing trajectory remained stable and the swing felt stable until the end.
[0025] <Experiment 2: Golf swing>
[0026] (Experimental conditions) 20 balls each were hit with a driver using a golf simulation device and measured. Comparison was made between the following Case 1 and Case 2. Case 1: Sports glove worn on left hand (no weight), bare right hand Case 2: Sports glove worn on left hand (with weight), bare right hand "Case 2: with weight" has a first weight of 45g, a second weight of 30g, and a third weight of 30g.
[0027] (Results) Case 1: Average launch ball speed 47 meters per second (169 km / h) Case 2: Average launch ball speed 54 meters per second (194 km / h)
[0028] (Discussion) The ball speed when wearing Sports Glove 1 (with weight) was measured to be approximately 14% faster than when wearing no weight. Furthermore, by stabilizing the swing trajectory, it became possible to more reliably hit the ball with the center of the club head, improving both distance and direction.
[0029] (Effects) Next, the effects of the sports glove 1 of this embodiment will be listed and explained.
[0030] (1) As described above, the sports glove 1 of this embodiment includes the five finger portions 21-25, the base portion 30 that accommodates the back side 31 and the palm side 32 of the hand, and the first weight portion 51 that is attached to the back side 31 of the base portion 30 at a position corresponding to the fourth metacarpal bone 94 to the fifth metacarpal bone 95. This configuration allows for quick start when swinging a golf club or bat, improving swing speed. In other words, the gravity of the weight can be utilized to make the swing faster and to deliver a stronger hit.
[0031] (2) It also includes a wrist section 60 that accommodates the wrist, and a second weight section 52 that is attached to the wrist section 60 at a position that corresponds to the outside of the wrist. This increases the overall weight, and the trajectory (center of gravity) is in two places: the bat's trajectory and the trajectory inside it (the wrist), allowing for a stable turning motion and guiding it further inward, thereby improving swing speed.
[0032] (3) Furthermore, by providing a third weight portion 53 attached to the wrist portion 60 at a position corresponding to the inside of the wrist, the overall weight can be further increased and the bat's trajectory on the inside (wrist) can be more strongly propelled, thereby further improving swing speed.
[0033] 5, first weight 51 is disposed integrally with the grip end of bat B, second weight 52 is disposed on the outside of the wrist, and third weight 53 is disposed on the inside of the wrist, so that the wrist trajectory can more strongly guide the bat trajectory inward while propelling the bat trajectory. Therefore, by having the pulling hand pull the swing with these two trajectories, swing speed is improved.
[0034] (4) Furthermore, the first weight portion 51, the second weight portion 52, and the third weight portion 53 are configured in the shape of an openable and closable bag, and are capable of storing multiple lead plates 51c, ... (52c, 53c) inside. Therefore, by changing the weight according to the user's preferences and physical characteristics and adjusting the center of gravity of the trajectory, the swing trajectory can be optimized for each user.
[0035] (5) Furthermore, the glove further includes a back belt portion 41 that tightens the back side 31 of the base portion 30, and the first weight portion 51 is covered by this back belt portion 41, so that the first weight portion 51 can be protected and integrated with the back of the hand, further preventing injury.
[0036] (6) Furthermore, by further providing a display section 41a on the surface of the back belt section 41, the wearer (player) can increase their motivation and relieve tension by seeing photos and text up close while playing.
[0037] (7) Furthermore, the device is provided with a wrist belt 42 that fastens the wrist, and the second weight 52 and the third weight 53 are covered by the wrist belt 42. This not only protects the second weight 52 and the third weight 53, but also makes them one with the wrist, further preventing injury.
[0038] In this embodiment, a sports glove 1A will be described, which differs from the sports glove 1 of embodiment 1 in that it includes a fourth weight portion 54 and that two types of items are stored inside the weight portion. The following will mainly describe these differences. Note that the same reference numerals will be used to describe parts that are the same as or equivalent to those described in embodiment 1.
[0039] (Configuration) First, the overall configuration of the sports glove 1A of this embodiment will be described using Figure 6. The sports glove 1A of this embodiment, similar to the sports glove 1 of Example 1, comprises five finger portions 21 to 25, a base portion 30 that accommodates the back and palm of the hand, and a first weight portion 51 that is attached to the back side 31 of the base portion 30 at a position corresponding to the fourth metacarpal bone 94 to the fifth metacarpal bone 95.
[0040] Furthermore, the sports glove 1A includes a wrist portion 60 that is continuous with and integral with the base portion 30 and that accommodates the wrist. A second weight portion 52 is disposed in the wrist portion 60 at a position that corresponds to the outer side (back of the hand) of the wrist, and a third weight portion 53 is disposed in the wrist portion 60 at a position that corresponds to the inner side (palm side) of the wrist. The main structure (appearance) of the second weight portion 52 and the third weight portion 53 is substantially the same as the second weight portion 52 and the third weight portion 53 described in the first embodiment.
[0041] The sports glove 1A of this embodiment further includes a fourth weight 54 attached at a position corresponding to the second metacarpal bone 92 to the third metacarpal bone 93. In other words, the fourth weight 54 is located on the back side 31 of the base body 30, near the edge of the thumb side (index finger) which is farthest from the grip end. The main structure (appearance) of the fourth weight 54 is substantially the same as that of the first weight 51 described in the first embodiment. However, by providing a hook-and-loop fastener (with substantially the same configuration as 30M) on the surface of the fourth weight 54 in addition to the hook-and-loop fastener 30M, the weights 51 and 54 can be firmly pressed against the back of the hand.
[0042] These weight portions 51, 52, 53, 54 are each configured in the shape of an openable / closable bag, and are each capable of storing at least one selected from one or more metal plate-like objects 51c, ... and multiple granular objects 51d, .... That is, for example, the first weight portion 51 is capable of storing a bag 51a, an openable / closable fastener 51b, and at least one selected from one or more metal plate-like objects 51c, ... and multiple granular objects 51d, ....
[0043] The weights 51 to 54 are preferably made of a metal (or synthetic material) plate or granular material with a specific gravity of 7 or more wrapped in a bag, and are preferably made of a material that has a certain degree of hardness and weight and is shock resistant and shock absorbing. The granular material is preferably stored in an inner bag.
[0044] Alternatively, each of these weights 51, 52, 53, 54 is configured in the shape of an openable and closable bag, and each is capable of storing at least one selected from one or more plate-like objects 51c, ... made of synthetic resin or synthetic rubber, and a plurality of granular objects 51d, .... Weights 51 to 54 are preferably made of lightweight polystyrene foam, urethane, or similar synthetic material, wrapped in an inner bag to prevent injury, and are lightweight and shock-absorbing.
[0045] Here, tungsten, lead, molybdenum, iron, stainless steel SUS304, brass, etc. can be used as the metal. The granular material is preferably placed in an inner bag. The inner bag can be made of a material with cushioning properties (stretchability). The particle size of the granular material is preferably, for example, 0.1 to 5 mm in diameter.
[0046] Furthermore, the synthetic resin or synthetic rubber may contain shock-absorbing materials such as thin urethane sheets or sponge sheets. Furthermore, granular or plate-shaped materials made of synthetic resin (plastic) may also be used. The granular materials are preferably placed in an inner bag. The inner bag can be made of a material with cushioning properties (stretchability). The particle size of the granular materials is preferably, for example, 0.1 to 5 mm in diameter.
[0047] It is preferable to use a material for the bag-like object that is free of harmful substances and has a certain degree of hardness that allows it to maintain its shape, flexibility, a low coefficient of friction, high abrasion resistance, etc. Furthermore, it is preferable that each of the weights 51 to 54 has an opening along one of the four sides, or an opening along the center line of the front portion as shown in Example 1.
[0048] (Effects) Next, the functions and effects of the sports glove 1A of this embodiment will be listed and explained.
[0049] (1) In this way, in the sports glove 1A, the first weight portion 51, the second weight portion 52, the third weight portion 53, and the fourth weight portion 54 are each configured as an openable bag, and each is capable of storing at least one selected from one or more metal plate-like objects and a plurality of metal granular objects. By providing such hard-type weight portions 51-54, it is possible to prevent injury to the wearer and increase the speed of the swing.
[0050] (2) The first weight 51, the second weight 52, the third weight 53, and the fourth weight 54 may each be configured in the shape of an openable bag, and each may be configured to store at least one selected from one or more plate-shaped objects and multiple granular objects made of synthetic resin or synthetic rubber. Providing such soft weights 51-54 can prevent injury to the wearer.
[0051] In other words, it allows players to protect their hands from injuries such as being hit by a pitch without having to wear a glove-protecting hand guard. (This is fair as players do not need to purchase a glove guard, and is rational as it reduces the time it takes to put on and take off the glove guard.) Furthermore, players can choose from two types of guard cushions - a heavy hard type and a light soft type - and attach them to any position they like, allowing them to adjust their swing balance to suit them and maximize their swing speed. (This is beneficial as it contributes to the achievement of each user's goals.)
[0052] In other words, by providing two types of guard cushions, a relatively heavy hard type and a relatively light soft type, it is possible to prevent injuries to both hands while increasing the swing speed by making the pulling hand heavier and the pushing hand lighter. (For example, in the case of a right-handed batter, if weights 51, 52, 53 other than the fourth weight 54 of the left hand are of the heavy hard type and the fourth weight 54 is of the light soft type, it is possible to increase the initial pulling hand-led swing speed.)
[0053] (3) Furthermore, the sports glove 1A of this embodiment preferably further includes a fourth weight 54 attached to the back of the hand of the base 30 at a position corresponding to the second metacarpal bone 92 to the third metacarpal bone 93. By including such a fourth weight 54, the weights (51, 54) can be arranged over the entire back of the hand together with the first weight 51, and the area where the wearer is prevented from being injured by the internal plate-like or granular material can be further expanded. In this way, there are four weights on one hand and eight weights on both hands, which increases the wearer's freedom of weight adjustment, etc.
[0054] The other configurations and effects are substantially the same as those of the first embodiment, and therefore the description thereof will be omitted.
[0055] Although the embodiments of the present invention have been described above in detail with reference to the drawings, the specific configuration is not limited to this embodiment, and design changes that do not deviate from the gist of the present invention are included in the present invention.
[0056] For example, in Example 2, examples of storing metal objects inside the bag (hard type) and examples of storing resin objects inside the bag (soft type) were explained separately, but this is not limited to this, and it is also possible to store metal granular objects in some weight sections and synthetic resin plate-shaped objects in other weight sections (hybrid configuration).
[0057] Furthermore, although not specifically described in the examples, in addition to the positions of the weights 51 to 54, pockets can also be provided at other positions, such as in the belt portions 41 and 42. Note that in Examples 1 and 2, the term "weight" is used mainly from the viewpoint of storing heavy plate-like objects or granular objects, but since light cushioning materials can also be stored, the "weight" can also be simply called a "pocket."
[0058] Furthermore, although not specifically explained in the examples, it is also preferable to prepare inner bags of multiple materials (specific gravities) and multiple sizes for the one or more metal plate-shaped objects and multiple granular objects, or the one or more synthetic resin or synthetic rubber plate-shaped objects and multiple granular objects that are housed inside the weight portion, so that the wearer can select from multiple sizes, weights, and hardness (flexibility) according to their preferences.
