Abstract
Description
INBUILT BOOKMARKING AND HIGHLIGHTING DEVICEFIELD OF THE DISCLOSURE
[0001] The disclosure relates to reading aids, and, more specifically, relates to an inbuilt bookmarking and highlighting device.BACKGROUND OF THE DISCLOSURE
[0002] For years people who read books, and magazines frequently hold onto reading and supplement a bookmarker at appropriate pages so that they may quickly pick up where they left off.
[0003] People often tag pages and take notes by using a marker, or a highlighter to highlight important text or graphics. The traditional old highlighters are bulky and need separate handling. The bulky size of the highlighter was built to make it last much longer. This much capacity of the highlighter is not a necessity for many users.
[0004] However, sometimes readers do not have the marker and / or the flag or bookmark handy while reading. Since these reading aids have to be carried separately, they are most likely to get lost during use. If not lost then the user has to find where they have put the highlighters / bookmarkers previously and pick from that place.
[0005] The problem associated with these aids is that they are all separate items and must be carried around in some compartments like bags, purses, etc so that they are accessible at the time of reading.
[0006] However, there are many integrated reading aids available in the market but none of the available reading aids provide an effective, reliable, long term and easy-to-use instrument.
[0007] There is, therefore, a need for a reliable integrated reading aid that overcomes the problems associated with the prior art and provides an effective integrated applicator.SUMMARY OF THE DISCLOSURE
[0008] In order to overcome above-mentioned technical disadvantagesand existing problems of prior arts, the purpose of the present disclosure is to provide an inbuilt bookmarking and highlighting device.
[0009] In light of the above, in one aspect of the present disclosure, the device may include a head section, at least one cavity, at least one highlighting assembly, at least one cap, and a tail section. The head section includes a first end portion and a second end portion to define a thickness gradually decreasing from the first end portion to the second end portion. The first end portion of the head section further defines at least one tapered corner. The at least one cavity is defined in the head section extending from the first end portion to the second end portion to gradually decrease dimensionally with the decreasing thickness of the head section. The at least one highlighting assembly is removably coupled to the at least one tapered corner to be received within the cavity. Herein, the at least one highlighting assembly includes an ink cartridge, and a marking tip. The ink cartridge received within the cavity and disposed along the at least one tapered comer. The marking tip coupled and extends from the ink cartridge to highlight the selected portions in a book. The at least one cap removably disposed over the at least one highlighter assembly along the at least one tapered comer to cover the at least one highlighting assembly. The tail section seamlessly extending from the second end portion of the head section to define a length to be provided in the book for bookmarking. Herein, the head section and the tail section define a center of gravity such that the combined mass of the inbuilt bookmarking and highlighting device is adapted to be concentrated along the tail section so that the inbuilt bookmarking and highlighting device is securely positions between the pages of the book.
[0010] In one embodiment, the at least one cap disposed along the at least one tapered corner to seamlessly define an extended corner on the head section to define a slanted orientation “S” along an edge of the first end portion of the head section.
[0011] In one embodiment, the at least one cap disposed along the at least one tapered corner to seamlessly define a comer on the head section having linear orientation “L” of an edge of the first end portion of the head section.
[0012] In light of the above, in another aspect of the present disclosure, the device may include the two tapered corners, two cavities, two highlighting assembly, and two caps. The first end portion of the head section defines the two tapered corners. The two cavities are defined in the head section and are separated by a partitionwall such that each of the two cavities align along the each of the two tapered corners. The two highlighting assemblies are removably coupled to the two tapered comers to be received within the two cavities. The each of the two caps are removably disposed over the respective highlighting assembly of the two highlighter assemblies along the each of the two tapered comer to cover the respective highlighting assembly.
[0013] In one embodiment, the two caps disposed along the respective two tapered comers to seamlessly define corners on the head section having a linear orientation “L” of an edge of the first end portion of the head section.
[0014] In one embodiment, the partition wall extends up to the edge of the first end portion of the head section to separate the two tapered corners.
[0015] In one embodiment, the ink cartridge includes an intermediate assembly having a nozzle to receive the cartridge and a through recess to receive and hold the marking tip to be rested on the ink cartridge for the capillary action to receive ink from the cartridge.
[0016] In the preferred embodiment, the gradually decreasing thickness of the head section is greater than a thickness of the tail portion.
[0017] In one embodiment, the shape of the device is substantially elongated and rectangular.
[0018] In one embodiment, the head section includes a gripping member attached there to clip the inbuilt bookmarking and highlighting device at the desired location.
