[0001] FIELD OF THE DISCLOSURE The present disclosure relates to medical device handling components.
[0002] Conventionally, a treatment member for heating a medical device such as an endoscope has been known. For example, Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2021-058360 discloses a treatment member in which a wiping part is fixed to the outer surface of a storage bag that stores a heating element inside.
[0003] Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2021-058360
[0004] With the conventional treatment device described above, when heating the distal end of an endoscope, which is an example of a medical device, the user must support the endoscope and the bag containing the heating element by folding the bag to surround the distal end. For this reason, there is room for improvement in the ease of use of the conventional treatment device.

[0009] Hereinafter, embodiments of the present disclosure will be described. Unless otherwise specified, the same or corresponding parts in the following drawings will be denoted by the same reference numerals, and the description thereof will not be repeated.
[0010] (Embodiment 1) <Configuration of medical instrument processing member> Fig. 1 is a schematic perspective view of a medical instrument processing member according to embodiment 1. Fig. 2 is a schematic cross-sectional view taken along line II-II in Fig. 1. Fig. 3 is a schematic view showing the medical instrument processing member of Fig. 1 placed in a sterilization container.
[0011] As shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 , the medical device processing member 100 according to this embodiment includes a heating unit 2. The medical device processing member 100 is used to heat medical devices requiring temperature control, such as the distal end 200 of an endoscope or an anesthetic injection syringe, as described below. The heating unit 2 is a bag-shaped member containing a heat generating element 4. Specifically, the heating unit 2 has a cylindrical shape with a bottom. The heating unit 2 has a first internal space 2a. As shown in FIG. 2 , the first internal space 2a has a circular shape in a cross section perpendicular to the extension direction of the heating unit 2. The heating unit 2 has a first opening 2b that communicates with the first internal space 2a of the heating unit 2. The first opening 2b is formed at the upper end of the heating unit 2. The first opening 2b has a circular planar shape. The bottom of the heating unit 2 is formed at the end (lower part) of the heating unit 2 opposite the first opening 2b. The bottom has a circular planar shape. The heating unit 2 has a side surface that is an outer peripheral surface connecting the first opening 2b and the bottom. From a different perspective, the heating unit 2 includes a cylindrical bag body 2f having a side surface and a bottom.
[0012] A heating element 4 is fixed to the side surface, which is the outer peripheral surface of the heating unit 2. The heating element 4 has a cylindrical shape that covers the side surface of the heating unit 2. Note that in FIGS. 1 and 2, one heating element 4 is arranged on the side surface of the heating unit 2, but multiple heating elements 4 may be arranged on the side surface. Also, in FIGS. 1 and 2, there are areas on the side surface in the circumferential direction where no heating element 4 is arranged, but heating elements 4 may be arranged around the entire circumferential direction of the side surface. The heating element 4 may have any configuration, for example, a heating element that reacts with air to generate heat by oxidation. The material constituting the heating element 4 may be any material that generates heat by oxidation, for example, iron (Fe). Preferably, the material constituting the heating element 4 has a large specific surface area and is, for example, a powder. The structure of the heating element 4 can be, for example, the structure of a disposable hand warmer.
[0013] For example, the heating element 4 includes a bag-shaped exterior member, powdered iron placed in the exterior member, and a member for promoting the oxidation of the oxidizable material such as iron. Examples of the member for promoting the oxidation include activated carbon, water, vermiculite, a water-absorbent resin, and salts such as potassium chloride.
[0014] Any method can be used to fix the heating element 4 to the side surface of the bag main body 2f. For example, the heating element 4 may be fixed directly to the side surface. Alternatively, a pocket for arranging the heating element 4 may be formed on the side surface, and the heating element 4 may be stored inside the pocket.
[0015] The heating unit 2 may include a waterproof layer from the viewpoint of preventing moisture from adhering to the heating element 4. The waterproof layer may be disposed between the inner peripheral surface of the heating unit 2 facing the first internal space 2a and the heating element 4. For example, a resin film or the like may be used as the waterproof layer.
[0016] As shown in Figure 3, the medical device processing member 100A includes a storage bag 5 that stores the medical device processing member 100 shown in Figures 1 and 2 inside, and a sterilization container 3. The sterilization container 3 has a third internal space 3a that is maintained in a sterilized state. The heating unit 2 is disposed inside the storage bag 5. The heating unit 2 placed in the storage bag 5 is housed in the third internal space 3a together with the storage bag 5. The storage bag 5 may be made of a material that can block air.
[0017] Any configuration may be adopted for the sterilization container 3, but for example, the sterilization container 3 may be formed using two sheet members. The sterilization container 3 may be formed by arranging two sheet members one on top of the other and fixing the outer peripheries of the overlapping sheet members by any method such as bonding or welding. In this case, the area surrounded by the two sheet members forms the third internal space 3a.
[0018] <Method of Using the Medical Instrument Processing Component> Figure 4 is a schematic diagram illustrating how to use the medical instrument processing component 100 of Figure 1. The following describes how to use the medical instrument processing component 100. The medical instrument processing component 100A shown in Figures 3 and 4 is used, for example, in an operating room. Hereinafter, surgeons and nurses who handle only sterilized or disinfected instruments will be referred to as "clean personnel," and those who handle only non-sterilized or non-disinfected instruments will be referred to as "unclean personnel." First, the unclean personnel will carry the medical instrument processing component 100A into the operating room from outside. This will occur, for example, before the start of surgery.
[0019] Next, after surgery has begun, when it becomes necessary to warm the tip 200 of an endoscope (see FIG. 4 ), which is an example of a medical device, the unclean person opens the sterilized container 3. The unclean person creates a state in which the clean person can grasp the containing bag 5 without touching the outer surface of the sterilized container 3. For example, the unclean person tears an edge of the sterilized container 3, exposing part of the containing bag 5 to the outside of the sterilized container 3 without directly touching the containing bag 5.
[0020] Next, the clean person grasps the storage bag 5. The clean person opens the storage bag 5 and removes the heating unit 2 from the storage bag 5. This initiates the oxidation reaction of the heating element 4. Specifically, the clean person removes, for example, a portion of the storage bag 5 that was covering one end of the heating unit 2. An opening is formed in the remaining portion of the storage bag 5. The clean person removes the heating unit 2 from the opening of the storage bag 5. This completes the preparation of the medical device treatment component 100 shown in FIG. 1.
[0021] Next, as shown in Figure 4, the clean person inserts the tip portion 200 of the endoscope into the first internal space 2a through the first opening 2b in the heating unit 2 of the medical device processing member 100. As a result, the tip portion 200 of the endoscope is heated by the heating element 4 of the heating unit 2. Specifically, the endoscope side surface 201 of the tip portion 200 of the endoscope comes into contact with the inner circumferential surface of the heating unit 2 that faces the first internal space 2a. The temperature of optical elements such as lenses located on the endoscope end face 202 of the tip portion 200 of the endoscope also rises due to the heat from the heating unit 2. As a result, the occurrence of fogging in the optical elements of the tip portion 200 is suppressed.
[0022] The clean person places the medical instrument processing member 100 in a sterilized or disinfected clean area in the operating room. The clean person then inserts the tip portion 200 of the heated endoscope into the living body and performs endoscopic observation.
[0023] The medical instrument processing member 100 can be used repeatedly as long as the temperature reached by the heating unit 2 can be maintained between 40° C. and 65° C. If it becomes necessary to heat the tip portion 200 of the endoscope again after the start of observation, the person performing the cleaning operation grasps the medical instrument processing member 100 placed in the clean area and uses the medical instrument processing member 100 to heat the tip portion 200 of the endoscope as described above.
[0024] The medical instrument treating member 100 is discarded after the temperature reached by the heating unit 2 is no longer maintained between 40° C. and 65° C. The medical instrument treating members 100, 100A are disposed of after each surgery.
[0025] <Function> The medical device processing member 100 according to the present disclosure includes a heating unit 2. The heating unit 2 has a first internal space 2a. The heating unit 2 is a bag-shaped member that includes a heat generating element 4. The heating unit 2 is formed with a first opening 2b that communicates with the first internal space 2a of the heating unit 2.
[0026] In this way, for example, by placing the distal end portion 200 of an endoscope, which is an example of a medical device, in the first internal space 2a of the heating unit 2 and heating it, it is possible to suppress fogging of the distal end portion 200. Furthermore, since the medical device can be heated by inserting the medical device into the first internal space 2a of the heating unit 2, there is no need for the user to hold the heating unit against the medical device as in the conventional case. This improves the operability of tasks such as heating the medical device.
[0027] In the medical device processing member 100, the outer circumferential shape of the heating unit 2 is cylindrical. In this case, when a medical device with a cylindrical outer shape, such as the tip portion 200 of an endoscope, is placed in the first internal space 2a of the heating unit 2, the inner circumferential surface of the heating unit 2 is placed along the surface of the medical device, such as the tip portion 200 of the endoscope, so that a gap is unlikely to occur between the heating unit 2 and the medical device. This allows the heating unit 2 to efficiently heat the medical device.
[0028] The medical device processing component 100A includes a sterilization container 3. The sterilization container 3 has a third internal space 3a that is maintained in a sterilized state. The heating unit 2 is housed in the third internal space 3a. In this case, the heating unit 2 can be transported in a sterilized state.
[0029] In the medical instrument treatment device 100, the heating element 4 reacts with air to generate heat by oxidation. In this case, the heating element 4 generates heat by oxidation when it comes into contact with air, so no power supply or other equipment is required compared to when an electric heater or the like is used as the heating element 4. This simplifies the configuration of the medical instrument treatment device 100.
[0030] <Configuration and Function of Modified Medical Device Treating Member> Figure 5 is a schematic perspective view showing a first modified medical device treating member shown in Figure 1. Figure 6 is a schematic cross-sectional view taken along line VI-VI in Figure 5. The medical device treating member 100 shown in Figures 5 and 6 basically has the same configuration as the medical device treating member 100 shown in Figures 1 and 2 and can achieve the same effects, but differs from the medical device treating member 100 shown in Figures 1 and 2 in that a portion 4e of the heating element 4 is arranged to cover the bottom 2g of the bag main body 2f.
[0031] 5 and 6, the heating element 4 includes a cylindrical portion 4f that partially covers the side surface of the bag body 2f, and a portion 4e that covers the bottom 2g of the bag body 2f. The portion 4e is connected to the lower end of the cylindrical portion 4f. In other words, the heating element 4 has a cylindrical shape with a bottom.
[0032] In this way, the bottom 2g of the bag main body 2f can be heated by the portion 4e that is the bottom of the heating element 4. Therefore, as shown in Figure 4, when the tip portion 200 of the endoscope is inserted into the first internal space 2a from the first opening 2b in the heating section 2 of the medical device processing member 100 and the tip portion 200 of the endoscope is placed in contact with or adjacent to the bottom 2g of the bag main body 2f, the end face portion (the most distal end portion) of the tip portion 200 can be reliably heated.
[0033] Fig. 7 is a schematic perspective view showing a second modified example of the medical device treating member shown in Fig. 1. Fig. 8 is a schematic cross-sectional view taken along line VIII-VIII in Fig. 7. The medical device treating member 100 shown in Figs. 7 and 8 basically has the same configuration as the medical device treating member 100 shown in Figs. 1 and 2 and can achieve the same effects, but differs from the medical device treating member 100 shown in Figs. 1 and 2 in that a second opening 2c is formed in the lower part of the bag main body 2f. The width of the second opening 2c is substantially the same as the width of the first opening 2b.
[0034] 7 and 8, the bag body 2f is a cylindrical member having a first opening 2b and a second opening 2c. The second opening 2c is formed in a portion (lower portion) of the bag body 2f opposite to the portion (upper portion) where the first opening 2b is formed. The heating element 4 extends to the lower end of the bag body 2f.
[0035] In this way, a syringe, which is an example of a medical device, can be placed in the first internal space 2a of the medical device treatment member 100 and easily heated.
[0036] Fig. 9 is a cross-sectional schematic diagram showing a third modification of the medical device treating member shown in Fig. 1. The medical device treating member 100 shown in Fig. 9 basically has the same configuration as the medical device treating member 100 shown in Fig. 7 and Fig. 8 and can achieve the same effects, but differs from the medical device treating member 100 shown in Fig. 7 and Fig. 8 in that the width W2 of the second opening 2c formed in the lower part of the bag main body 2f is different from the width W1 of the first opening 2b.
[0037] 9, the width W2 of the second opening 2c is smaller than the width W1 of the first opening 2b. From a different perspective, the bag body 2f includes a convex edge 2h that protrudes inward from the portion (side wall) of the bag body 2f on the underside of the bag body 2f. The inner end surface of the edge 2h defines the second opening 2c.
[0038] 7 and 8, the syringe of the injector can be easily heated. Furthermore, it is preferable to set the width W2 of the second opening 2c smaller than the width of the end of the syringe to be heated and larger than the width of the needle or other member connected to the end of the syringe. In this case, the needle or other member can be easily held within the first internal space 2a by projecting the needle or other member from the second opening 2c and bringing the end of the syringe into contact with the edge 2h of the bag body 2f.
[0039] (Embodiment 2) <Configuration of medical instrument processing member> Fig. 10 is a schematic perspective view of a medical instrument processing member according to embodiment 2. Fig. 11 is a schematic cross-sectional view taken along line XI-XI in Fig. 10. Fig. 12 is a schematic cross-sectional view taken along line XII-XII in Fig. 10. Fig. 13 is a schematic view showing the medical instrument processing member of Fig. 10 placed in a sterilization container.
[0040] The medical instrument processing member 100 shown in Figures 10 to 12 basically has the same configuration as the medical instrument processing member 100 shown in Figures 1 and 2 and can achieve the same effects, but differs from the medical instrument processing member 100 shown in Figures 1 and 2 in that it further includes a wiping part 1.
[0041] In the medical instrument processing member 100 shown in FIGS. 10 to 12 , a second opening 2c is formed at the bottom of the heating unit 2. The second opening 2c has, for example, a circular planar shape. The wiping unit 1 is connected to the heating unit 2 so as to be continuous with the second opening 2c and protrude from the heating unit 2. The wiping unit 1 includes, for example, a nonwoven fabric. A second internal space 1a is formed inside the wiping unit 1. In other words, the wiping unit 1 is a bag-shaped member having the second internal space 1a. The second internal space 1a is connected to the first internal space 2a via the second opening 2c. As shown in FIG. 10 , the width of the wiping unit 1 (the width of the wiping unit 1 in the width direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction from the first opening 2b to the second opening 2c in FIG. 10 ) narrows with increasing distance from the heating unit 2. Note that the width of the wiping unit 1 may be substantially constant or may increase with increasing distance from the heating unit 2. The width of the wiping unit 1 is smaller than the width of the heating unit 2 in the width direction. The wiping unit 1 may contain a surfactant (so-called detergent). The wiping unit 1 may also contain an anti-fogging solvent. For example, the detergent or anti-fogging solvent may be applied to the inner circumferential surface of the wiping unit 1 facing the second internal space 1a. Alternatively, the material constituting the wiping unit 1 may be impregnated with the detergent or anti-fogging solvent. It is preferable that the detergent or anti-fogging solvent is disposed at least on the end side of the wiping unit 1 opposite the second opening 2c. This is because the end side is the portion that comes into contact with the end face 202 (see FIG. 14 ) of the distal end portion 200 of an endoscope, which is an example of a medical device, and in particular the lens of the optical system.
[0042] The heating unit 2 and the wiping unit 1 are integrated into a bag body 2f. The bag body 2f is formed, for example, by rolling a sheet-like material into a cylindrical shape and fixing the ends of the sheet-like material. The bag body 2f includes, for example, a nonwoven fabric.
[0043] As described above, the bag body 2f may be an integrated member of the heating unit 2 and the wiping unit 1, but the heating unit 2 and the wiping unit 1 may be formed as separate bag-like members, and these bag-like members (the heating unit 2 and the wiping unit 1) may be connected. The material constituting the heating unit 2 and the material constituting the wiping unit 1 may be the same or different.
[0044] As shown in Figure 13, the medical device treating member 100A includes a storage bag 5 that stores the medical device treating member 100 shown in Figures 10 to 12 inside, and a sterilization container 3. The sterilization container 3 has a third internal space 3a that is maintained in a sterilized state. The wiping unit 1 and the heating unit 2 are disposed inside the storage bag 5. The wiping unit 1 and the heating unit 2, which are placed in the storage bag 5, are housed in the third internal space 3a together with the storage bag 5.
[0045] The wiping unit 1 disposed inside the storage bag 5 is bent near the connection between the heating unit 2 and the wiping unit 1 so as to contact the outer circumferential surface of the heating unit 2. Specifically, the wiping unit 1 is in contact with the surface of the heating element 4. Any method can be used to fix the wiping unit 1 in contact with the outer circumferential surface of the heating unit 2. For example, the wiping unit 1 may be temporarily fixed to the outer circumferential surface of the heating unit 2 using a fixing member such as adhesive tape. The wiping unit 1 may be disposed so as not to overlap with the heating unit 2. The wiping unit 1 may also be pushed into the first internal space 2a of the heating unit 2 through the second opening 2c (disposed in the first internal space 2a).
[0046] <Method of Using the Medical Instrument Processing Member> Figure 14 is a schematic diagram for explaining a method of using the medical instrument processing member of Figure 10. Figure 15 is a schematic diagram for explaining a method of using the medical instrument processing member of Figure 10. The method of using the medical instrument processing member 100 shown in Figure 10 is basically the same as the method of using the medical instrument processing member 100 shown in Figures 1 to 4, but differs from the method of using the medical instrument processing member 100 shown in Figures 1 to 4 in that in addition to heating, foreign matter and the like are removed (cleaned) as processing of the medical instrument.
[0047] 1 to 4, the medical instrument processing member 100A shown in Fig. 14 is carried into an operating room. The sterilization container 3 is opened. The storage bag 5 is then opened. The medical instrument processing member 100 is removed by a clean person. The tip 200 of an endoscope, which is an example of a medical instrument, is inserted into the first internal space 2a of the heating unit 2 and heated.
[0048] With the tip portion 200 of the endoscope sufficiently heated in the heating unit 2 in this manner, the tip portion 200 is inserted into the second internal space 1a of the wiping unit 1 as shown in Fig. 15. The person performing the cleaning presses the wiping unit 1 against the tip portion 200 of the endoscope from the outside of the wiping unit 1. As a result, foreign matter adhering to the tip portion 200 of the endoscope can be wiped off with the wiping unit 1. In this way, foreign matter adhering to the tip portion 200 is removed in a heated and defogging state.
[0049] The clean person places the medical device processing member 100 in a sterilized or disinfected clean area in the operating room, inserts the distal end portion 200 of the endoscope, from which foreign matter and cloudiness have been removed, into the living body, and resumes observation using the endoscope.
[0050] The medical instrument processing member 100 can be used repeatedly as long as the temperature reached by the heating unit 2 can be maintained between 40° C. and 65° C. If it becomes necessary to clean the tip portion 200 of the endoscope again after the start of observation, the person performing the cleaning operation grasps the medical instrument processing member 100 placed in the clean area and uses the medical instrument processing member 100 to warm and clean the tip portion 200 of the endoscope as described above.
[0051] The medical instrument treating member 100 is discarded after the temperature reached by the heating unit 2 is no longer maintained between 40° C. and 65° C. The medical instrument treating members 100, 100A are disposed of after each surgery.
[0052] In addition, in the method of using the medical device processing member 100, when wiping of the tip of the endoscope is not necessary and only heating is required, for example, when heating the tip of the endoscope before it is inserted into the living body at the start of surgery, the tip 200 of the endoscope may be placed in the first internal space 2a of the heating section 2 and only heating may be performed.
[0053] 16, the wiping unit 1 may be placed in the first internal space 2a of the heating unit 2 to preheat the wiping unit 1. FIG. 16 is a schematic diagram illustrating a modified example of the method of using the medical device treating member 100 of FIG. 10. As shown in FIG. 16, the wiping unit 1 is placed in the first internal space 2a of the heating unit 2 by pushing the wiping unit 1 from its distal end into the first internal space 2a of the heating unit 2. In this manner, the wiping unit 1 can be heated by heat from the heating element 4 of the heating unit 2. The wiping unit 1 may then be removed from the first internal space 2a, and the steps shown in FIGS. 14 and 15 may be performed. As a result, with the wiping unit 1 preheated, foreign matter can be removed from the distal end portion 200 of the endoscope by the wiping unit 1, and a decrease in the temperature of the distal end portion 200 of the endoscope can be prevented during the procedure. This makes it possible to prevent fogging and other problems caused by a drop in temperature at the tip portion 200 of the endoscope.
[0054] <Function> The medical device treating member 100 includes a wiping unit 1. The wiping unit 1 is connected to a heating unit 2. In this case, by placing a medical device such as the tip portion 200 of an endoscope in the first internal space 2a of the heating unit 2 and heating it, it is possible to prevent fogging of the tip portion 200. Furthermore, by bringing the heated tip portion 200 into contact with the wiping unit 1, foreign matter can be removed from the tip portion 200 by the wiping unit 1.
[0055] In the medical instrument treating member 100, a second opening 2c communicating with the first internal space 2a is formed in the heating part 2. The wiping part 1 is connected to the heating part 2 so as to communicate with the second opening 2c and protrude from the heating part 2.
[0056] In this case, by placing a medical device such as the tip portion 200 of an endoscope in the first internal space 2a of the heating unit 2 and heating it, fogging of the tip portion 200 can be suppressed. Furthermore, by protruding the heated tip portion 200 from the second opening 2c and bringing it into contact with the wiping unit 1, foreign matter can be removed from the tip portion 200 by the wiping unit 1. Furthermore, since the tip portion 200 of the endoscope can be heated by inserting the tip portion 200 into the first internal space 2a of the heating unit 2, the user does not need to press the heating unit against the tip portion 200 of the endoscope and hold it, as was done in the past. This improves the operability of tasks such as heating and cleaning the tip portion 200 of the endoscope.
[0057] In the medical instrument treating member 100, the wiping part 1 is a bag-shaped member having a second internal space 1a. The second internal space 1a is connected to the first internal space 2a via a second opening 2c.
[0058] In this case, foreign matter can be easily removed from the surface of the tip portion 200 by inserting the tip portion 200 of the endoscope into the second internal space 1a of the wiping part 1 and bringing the tip portion 200 into contact with the inner circumferential surface of the wiping part 1. Note that the wiping part 1 does not have to be a bag-like member as described above, but may be a member (e.g., a sheet-like member) arranged so as to be continuous with part of the edge of the second opening 2c. Such a wiping part 1 can also be used to remove foreign matter from the surface of the tip portion 200 of the endoscope protruding from the second opening 2c (see FIG. 15 ).
[0059] In the medical instrument treating member 100, the wiping part 1 has a cylindrical shape with a bottom. In this case, the wiping part 1 has a shape that matches the shape of a rod-shaped or cylindrical medical instrument, so that such a medical instrument can be easily cleaned by inserting it into the second internal space 1a.
[0060] The medical device processing component 100A includes a sterilization container 3. The sterilization container 3 has a third internal space 3a that is maintained in a sterilized state. The wiping unit 1 and the heating unit 2 are housed in the third internal space 3a. In this case, the heating unit 2 and the wiping unit 1 can be transported in a sterilized state.
[0061] In the medical instrument treating member 100, the wiping part 1 is connected to the heating part 2 so as to protrude from the heating part 2. The wiping part 1 can come into contact with the outer circumferential surface of the heating part 2. In this case, the wiping part 1 can be heated by the heating part 2.
[0062] In the medical instrument treating member 100, the wiping part 1 contains a detergent. In this case, foreign matter can be easily removed from the tip part 200 of an endoscope, which is an example of a medical instrument.
[0063] In the medical device treating member 100, the wiping part 1 contains an anti-fogging solvent. In this case, the anti-fogging solvent can be applied to the tip part 200 of the endoscope when the tip part 200 is wiped with the wiping part 1.
[0064] (Embodiment 3) <Configuration and Function of Medical Instrument Processing Member> Fig. 17 is a schematic perspective view of a medical instrument processing member according to embodiment 3. Fig. 18 is a schematic cross-sectional view taken along line XVIII-XVIII in Fig. 17. Fig. 19 is a schematic view showing the medical instrument processing member of Fig. 17 placed in a sterilization container.
[0065] The medical instrument processing member 100 shown in Figures 17 and 18 basically has the same configuration as the medical instrument processing member 100 shown in Figures 10 to 12 and can achieve the same effects, but the configuration of the wiping part 1 differs from that of the medical instrument processing member 100 shown in Figures 10 to 12.
[0066] In the medical device treating member 100 shown in Figures 17 and 18, a sheet-like wiping portion 1 is disposed adjacent to the second opening 2c formed in the bottom of the heating portion 2. The wiping portion 1 is connected to the heating portion 2. The wiping portion 1 is disposed so as to be continuous with the second opening 2c and protrude from the heating portion 2. The planar shape of the wiping portion 1 is, for example, a square. However, the planar shape of the wiping portion 1 may be any other shape, such as a circle, an ellipse, or a polygon such as a triangle or pentagon. The material constituting the wiping portion 1 may be the same as the material constituting the bag body portion 2f of the heating portion 2. The material constituting the wiping portion 1 may be any flexible material, such as a nonwoven fabric.
[0067] The wiping unit 1 may contain a surfactant. The wiping unit 1 may contain an anti-fogging solvent. The surfactant or anti-fogging solvent may be disposed on the entire surface of the wiping unit 1. Alternatively, the surfactant or anti-fogging solvent may be disposed only on a portion of the wiping unit 1 (for example, only on the end side of the wiping unit 1 away from the heating unit 2).
[0068] The wiping unit 1 may be a member integral with the bag main body 2f of the heating unit 2, or may be a separate member from the bag main body 2f.
[0069] As shown in Figure 19, the medical instrument treating member 100A includes a storage bag 5 that stores the medical instrument treating member 100 shown in Figures 17 and 18 inside, and a sterilization container 3. The sterilization container 3 has a third internal space 3a that is maintained in a sterilized state. The wiping unit 1 and the heating unit 2 are disposed inside the storage bag 5. The wiping unit 1 and the heating unit 2, which are placed in the storage bag 5, are housed together with the storage bag 5 in the third internal space 3a.
[0070] The wiping unit 1 disposed inside the storage bag 5 is disposed outside the heating unit 2. The wiping unit 1 may be folded near the connection between the heating unit 2 and the wiping unit 1 so that the wiping unit 1 comes into contact with the surface of the heating unit 2. The wiping unit 1 may also be pushed into the first internal space 2a of the heating unit 2 through the second opening 2c (disposed in the first internal space 2a).
[0071] <Method of using the medical instrument processing member> The method of using the medical instrument processing member 100 shown in Figures 17 and 18 is basically the same as the method of using the medical instrument processing member 100 shown in Figure 10, but the process of cleaning the medical instrument using the wiping part 1 differs from the method of using the medical instrument processing member 100 shown in Figure 10.
[0072] That is, similar to the method of using the medical instrument processing member 100 shown in Fig. 10, the medical instrument processing member 100A shown in Fig. 19 is carried into an operating room. The sterilization container 3 is opened. The storage bag 5 is opened. The medical instrument processing member 100 is removed by a clean person. The tip portion 200 of an endoscope (see Fig. 14), which is an example of a medical instrument, is inserted into the first internal space 2a of the heating unit 2 and heated.
[0073] After the tip portion 200 of the endoscope has been sufficiently heated in the heating unit 2 in this way, the tip portion 200 is moved to a position where it can come into contact with the wiping unit 1. The person cleaning the endoscope presses the wiping unit 1 against the tip portion 200 of the endoscope, so that the tip portion 200 is enveloped by the wiping unit 1. As a result, foreign matter adhering to the tip portion 200 of the endoscope can be wiped off with the wiping unit 1. In this way, foreign matter adhering to the tip portion 200 is removed in a state where it has been heated and defogging has been removed.
[0074] <Modification of Medical Instrument Treating Member> FIG. 20 is a schematic perspective view showing a modification of the medical instrument treating member shown in FIG.
[0075] The medical instrument processing member 100 shown in Figure 20 basically has the same configuration as the medical instrument processing member 100 shown in Figure 17 and can achieve the same effects, but the configuration of the wiping section 1 and the configuration of the heating section 2 are different from those of the medical instrument processing member 100 shown in Figure 17.
[0076] The heating unit 2 of the medical device treating member 100 shown in Fig. 20 basically has the same configuration as the heating unit 2 of the medical device treating member 100 shown in Fig. 5 and Fig. 6. Furthermore, in the medical device treating member 100 shown in Fig. 20, a sheet-like wiping unit 1 is disposed adjacent to a first opening 2b formed in the upper part of the heating unit 2. The wiping unit 1 is connected to the heating unit 2. The wiping unit 1 is disposed so as to be continuous with the first opening 2b and protrude from the heating unit 2. With this configuration, when the tip portion 200 of an endoscope heated in the first internal space 2a of the heating unit 2 is extracted through the first opening 2b, foreign matter can be easily removed from the tip portion 200 by the wiping unit 1.
[0077] The wiping unit 1 only needs to be connected to the heating unit 2, and the wiping unit 1 can be connected to any position on the heating unit 2. For example, an end of the wiping unit 1 may be connected to the surface of the heating element 4 in the heating unit 2. Also, multiple wiping units 1 may be connected to the heating unit 2. The configuration of the bag main body 2f and the heating element 4 is not limited to that shown in Figure 20, and any of the configurations of the bag main body 2f and the heating element 4 shown in the first embodiment described above may be used.
[0078] (Embodiment 4) <Configuration of medical instrument processing member> Fig. 21 is a perspective schematic diagram of a medical instrument processing member. Fig. 22 is a cross-sectional schematic diagram taken along line XXII-XXII in Fig. 21. Fig. 23 is a cross-sectional schematic diagram taken along line XXIII-XXIII in Fig. 21. Fig. 24 is a schematic diagram showing the medical instrument processing member of Fig. 21 placed in a sterilization container. Fig. 25 is a cross-sectional schematic diagram taken along line XXV-XXV in Fig. 24.
[0079] As shown in Figures 21 to 23, the medical instrument treating member 100 according to this embodiment includes a heating unit 2 and a wiping unit 1. The heating unit 2 is a bag-shaped member containing a heat generating element 4. The heating unit 2 has a first internal space 2a. A first opening 2b and a second opening 2c are formed in the heating unit 2, and these openings are connected to the first internal space 2a of the heating unit 2. The first opening 2b is formed at the upper end of the heating unit 2. The second opening 2c is formed at the end (lower part) of the heating unit 2 opposite the first opening 2b. The heating unit 2 has a first outer peripheral surface 2d1 and a second outer peripheral surface 2d2. The first outer peripheral surface 2d1 and the second outer peripheral surface 2d2 are surfaces located opposite each other.
[0080] A heating element 4 is fixed to the outer peripheral surface 2d of the main body of the heating unit 2. The main body outer peripheral surface 2d includes a first outer peripheral surface 2d1 and a second outer peripheral surface 2d2. A first heating element 4a is fixed to the first outer peripheral surface 2d1. A second heating element 4b is fixed to the second outer peripheral surface 2d2. The medical device processing member 100 includes the first heating element 4a and the second heating element 4b as the heating element 4. The heating element 4 may have any configuration, but is, for example, a heating element that reacts with air to generate heat by oxidation.
[0081] Any method can be used to fix the heating element 4 to the outer peripheral surface 2d of the main body. For example, the heating element 4 may be fixed directly to the outer peripheral surface 2d of the main body. Alternatively, a pocket for arranging the heating element 4 may be formed on the outer peripheral surface 2d of the main body, and the heating element 4 may be housed inside the pocket.
[0082] In a plan view perpendicular to the first outer peripheral surface 2d1, the heating unit 2 has a rectangular planar shape. The planar shape of the heating unit 2 may be any other shape, such as a circle or a polygon. The first heating element 4a and the second heating element 4b have a rectangular planar shape. The planar shapes of the first heating element 4a and the second heating element 4b may be the same or different. For example, the first heating element 4a may be located on the first opening 2b side, and the second heating element 4b may be located in a region that does not overlap with the first heating element 4a (for example, a region on the second opening 2c side). Alternatively, only one of the first heating element 4a and the second heating element 4b may be installed as the heating element 4.
[0083] The wiping portion 1 is connected to the heating portion 2 so as to be continuous with the second opening 2c and protrude from the heating portion 2. The wiping portion 1 includes, for example, a nonwoven fabric. A second internal space 1a is formed inside the wiping portion 1. In other words, the wiping portion 1 is a bag-shaped member having the second internal space 1a. The second internal space 1a is connected to the first internal space 2a via the second opening 2c. When viewed from a direction perpendicular to the first outer peripheral surface 2d1, the wiping portion 1 has a rectangular planar shape. However, the planar shape of the wiping portion 1 may be any other shape, such as a circle or a polygon. The width of the wiping portion 1 in the planar shape (the width of the wiping portion 1 in the width direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction from the first opening 2b to the second opening 2c in FIG. 21) is smaller than the width of the heating portion 2 in the planar shape. The wiping portion 1 may contain an anti-fogging solvent. For example, an anti-fogging solvent may be applied to the inner peripheral surface of the wiping part 1 that faces the second internal space 1a. Alternatively, the material that constitutes the wiping part 1 may be impregnated with the anti-fogging solvent. It is preferable that the anti-fogging solvent is disposed at least on the end side of the wiping part 1 that is located opposite the second opening 2c. This is because this end side is the part that comes into contact with the endoscope end face 202 (see FIG. 29 ) at the tip part 200 of the endoscope, and in particular with lenses of the optical system.
[0084] The heating unit 2 and the wiping unit 1 are configured by a bag main body 2f. The bag main body 2f includes a sheet-like first main body 2f1 and a second main body 2f2. The bag main body 2f includes, for example, a nonwoven fabric. The planar shape of the first main body 2f1 and the second main body 2f2 may be the same. The first main body 2f1 and the second main body 2f2 are connected by fixing parts 1e and 2e located on the outer periphery of the planar shape. The upper ends of the first main body 2f1 and the second main body 2f2 are not connected, and a first opening 2b is formed. The second opening 2c is located approximately in the center of the width direction of the heating unit 2 in a planar view. Note that the second opening 2c may be formed at an end of the width direction of the heating unit 2 in a planar view. The fixing part 2e is the portion of the outer periphery of the heating unit 2 in a planar view that connects the first opening 2b to the second opening 2c. In the outer periphery of the wiping part 1 in plan view, the part other than the second opening 2c serves as a fixed part 1e.
[0085] As described above, the heating unit 2 and the wiping unit 1 may be configured as an integrated member, that is, the first main body 2f1 and the second main body 2f2, or the heating unit 2 and the wiping unit 1 may be formed as separate bag-like members, and these bag-like members (the heating unit 2 and the wiping unit 1) may be connected. The material constituting the heating unit 2 and the material constituting the wiping unit 1 may be the same or different.
[0086] The heating unit 2 may include a waterproof layer from the viewpoint of preventing moisture from adhering to the heating element 4. The waterproof layer may be disposed between the inner peripheral surface of the heating unit 2 facing the first internal space 2a and the heating element 4. For example, a resin film or the like may be used as the waterproof layer.
[0087] As shown in Figures 24 and 25, the medical device treating member 100A includes a storage bag 5 that stores the medical device treating member 100 shown in Figures 21 to 23 inside, and a sterilization container 3. The sterilization container 3 has a third internal space 3a that is maintained in a sterilized state. The wiping part 1 and the heating part 2 are disposed inside the storage bag 5. The wiping part 1 and the heating part 2 placed in the storage bag 5 are housed in the third internal space 3a together with the storage bag 5. The storage bag 5 may be made of a material that can block air.
[0088] The wiping unit 1 disposed inside the storage bag 5 is bent near the connection between the heating unit 2 and the wiping unit 1 so as to contact the outer peripheral surface of the heating unit 2. Specifically, the wiping unit 1 contacts the outer peripheral surface 4d of the heating element. In FIG. 25 , the wiping unit 1 contacts the first outer peripheral surface 4d1 of the first heating element 4a. The wiping unit 1 may also contact the second outer peripheral surface 4d2 of the second heating element 4b. Any method can be used to fix the wiping unit 1 in contact with the outer peripheral surface of the heating unit 2. For example, the wiping unit 1 may be temporarily fixed to the outer peripheral surface of the heating unit 2 using a fixing member such as adhesive tape. The wiping unit 1 may be positioned so as not to overlap with the heating unit 2. The wiping unit 1 may also be pushed into the first internal space 2a of the heating unit 2 through the second opening 2c (i.e., positioned within the first internal space 2a).
[0089] As shown in Figure 25, the sterilization container 3 includes a first sheet member 3b and a second sheet member 3c. The first sheet member 3b and the second sheet member 3c are fixed to each other at a fixing portion 3e formed on the outer periphery as shown in Figure 24. The area surrounded by the first sheet member 3b and the second sheet member 3c forms a third internal space 3a.
[0090] 26 to 29 are front views or cross-sectional views showing an example of a method of using the medical instrument processing member 100A, i.e., a method of warming and cleaning an endoscope using the medical instrument processing member 100A. The medical instrument processing member 100A is used, for example, in an operating room. First, an unclean person carries the medical instrument processing member 100A into the operating room from outside the operating room. This is done, for example, before the start of surgery.
[0091] Next, after surgery has begun, when it becomes necessary to clean the distal end portion 200 of the endoscope (see FIG. 29 ), the unclean person opens the sterilized container 3. The unclean person creates a state (see FIG. 26 ) in which the clean person can grasp the containing bag 5 without touching the outer surface of the sterilized container 3. For example, the unclean person folds the first sheet member 3b and the second sheet member 3c outward while peeling them away from each other. Note that while FIG. 26 shows the fixing portion 3e on the upper side (the side opposite the side where the wiping unit 1 is located) broken, this is not a limitation, and the fixing portion 3e on the lower side (the side where the wiping unit 1 is located) in FIG. 26 may be broken, for example.
[0092] Next, the cleaning person grasps the containing bag 5 shown in FIG. 26 . The cleaning person opens the containing bag 5 and removes the heating unit 2 and the wiping unit 1 from the containing bag 5. This initiates the oxidation reaction of the heating element 4. Specifically, the cleaning person removes the first portion 51 of the containing bag 5 that covers one end of the heating unit 2, as shown in FIG. 27 . The remaining second portion 52 of the containing bag 5 has an open end. The cleaning person removes the heating unit 2 and the wiping unit 1 from the open end of the second portion 52 of the containing bag 5. This prepares the medical device treatment member 100 shown in FIGS. 21 and 28 . As shown in FIG. 28 , when the medical device treatment member 100 is viewed from above, the wiping unit 1 may be folded so that it partially overlaps the heating unit 2. In this case, the wiping unit 1 is also heated by the heating unit 2. Alternatively, as shown in FIG. 21 , the heating unit 2 and the wiping unit 1 may be arranged so that they do not overlap.
[0093] Next, the person performing the cleaning operation removes the tip portion 200 of the endoscope from the living body. Then, as shown in Figure 28, the person performing the cleaning operation inserts the tip portion 200 of the endoscope into the first internal space 2a through the first opening 2b in the heating unit 2 of the medical device processing member 100. The heat from the heating unit 2 also raises the temperatures of optical elements such as lenses located on the endoscope end face 202 of the tip portion 200 of the endoscope. As a result, any fogging that has occurred on the optical elements of the tip portion 200 is removed.
[0094] With the tip portion 200 of the endoscope sufficiently heated in the heating unit 2 in this manner, the tip portion 200 is inserted into the second internal space 1a of the wiping unit 1 as shown in Figure 29. The person performing the cleaning presses the wiping unit 1 against the tip portion 200 of the endoscope from the outside of the wiping unit 1. As a result, foreign matter adhering to the tip portion 200 of the endoscope can be wiped off with the wiping unit 1. In this way, foreign matter adhering to the tip portion 200 is removed in a heated and defogged state.
[0095] The clean person places the medical device processing member 100 in a sterilized or disinfected clean area in the operating room, and then reinserts the distal end portion 200 of the endoscope, from which foreign matter and cloudiness have been removed, into the living body, and resumes observation using the endoscope.
[0096] The medical instrument processing member 100 can be used repeatedly as long as the temperature reached by the heating unit 2 can be maintained between 40° C. and 65° C. When it becomes necessary to clean the tip portion 200 of the endoscope again after resuming observation, the person performing the cleaning operation grasps the medical instrument processing member 100 placed in the clean area and uses the medical instrument processing member 100 to clean the tip portion 200 of the endoscope as described above.
[0097] The medical instrument treating member 100 is discarded after the temperature reached by the heating unit 2 is no longer maintained between 40° C. and 65° C. The medical instrument treating members 100, 100A are disposed of after each surgery.
[0098] In addition, in the method of using the medical device processing member 100, when it is not necessary to wipe the tip of the endoscope and only heating is required, for example, when heating the tip of the endoscope before it is inserted into the living body at the start of surgery, the tip 200 of the endoscope may be placed in the first internal space 2a of the heating section 2 and only heating may be performed.
[0099] <Method of manufacturing a medical device processing member> First, a storage bag 5 is prepared, which contains the heating part 2 including the heat generating element 4 and the wiping part 1. At this time, the wiping part 1 is folded so as to partially overlap the heating part 2, as shown in Figure 24.
[0100] Next, the storage bag 5 containing the heating unit 2 and wiping unit 1 is placed in the sterilization container 3. Specifically, first, a sterilization container 3 is prepared in which some of the fixing units 3e are missing. Next, the storage bag 5 containing the heating unit 2 and wiping unit 1 is placed inside the sterilization container 3 from the part (opening) where the fixing units 3e are not formed. Next, the fixing units 3e are formed in the part that was the opening. As a result, the third internal space 3a (see FIG. 25) of the sterilization container 3 is sealed.
[0101] Next, the sterilization container 3 is subjected to a sterilization treatment. The sterilization method is not particularly limited, but may be, for example, a sterilization treatment using gamma rays or electron beams. The gamma rays or electron beams are irradiated onto the sterilization container 3 and the wiping part 1, heating part 2, and storage bag 5 contained in the sterilization container 3. The sterilization conditions are set according to the sterility assurance level. In this way, the medical device processing component 100A shown in Figure 24 is manufactured.
[0102] <Function> The medical device treating member 100 according to the present disclosure comprises a heating unit 2 and a wiping unit 1. The heating unit 2 has a first internal space 2a. The heating unit 2 is a bag-shaped member containing a heat generating element 4. The heating unit 2 is formed with a first opening 2b and a second opening 2c that communicate with the first internal space 2a of the heating unit 2. The wiping unit 1 is connected to the heating unit 2 so as to communicate with the second opening 2c and protrude from the heating unit 2.
[0103] In this way, by placing the tip portion 200 of the endoscope in the first internal space 2a of the heating unit 2 and heating it, fogging of the tip portion 200 can be suppressed.
[0104] (Embodiment 5) <Configuration and Function of Medical Instrument Treating Member> Figure 30 is a schematic perspective view of a medical instrument treating member according to embodiment 5. The medical instrument treating member 100 shown in Figure 30 basically has the same configuration as the medical instrument treating member 100 shown in Figures 21 to 23, but differs from the medical instrument treating member 100 shown in Figures 21 to 23 in that it does not have a wiping section 1 and is composed only of a heating section 2. In not having a wiping section 1, the medical instrument treating member 100 shown in Figure 30 is common to the medical instrument treating member 100 shown in Figures 1 and 2, and can achieve the same effects as the medical instrument treating member 100.
[0105] 20 may be housed in the storage bag 5 and the sterilization container 3 in the same manner as the medical instrument processing member 100A shown in Fig. 3. In this case, the same effects as those of the medical instrument processing member 100A shown in Fig. 3 can be obtained.
[0106] In the medical device treating member 100 shown in Fig. 30, a second opening 2c (see Fig. 21) may be formed in the bottom of the heating section 2. In addition, in the medical device treating member 100 shown in Fig. 30, the heat generating element 4 extends so that its lower end is positioned at approximately the same position as the lower end of the bag main body 2f, but the heat generating element 4 may be positioned in a different position.
