Description

Breathing circuit device for artificial respirator

[0001] The present invention relates to a breathing circuit device for a respirator, and more particularly, to a breathing circuit device for a respirator capable of providing sufficiently warmed breathing gas.

[0002] In general, a ventilator is a device that helps patients who have respiratory failure and cannot breathe on their own breathe. The breathing gas generated from the ventilator is supplied to the patient through the inhalation tube connected to the patient's airway, and the exhaust gas, including carbon dioxide exhaled by the patient, is returned to the ventilator through the exhaust tube.

[0003] In order to form this breathing cycle, as shown in Fig. 1, a breathing circuit is provided between the ventilator (1) and the patient, including an inhalation tube (2), an exhaust tube (3), a filter (4), a humidifier chamber (5) for supplying moisture to the breathing gas, and a water trap (6) for removing condensate.

[0004] The humidifier chamber (5) constituting the breathing circuit is configured to heat sterilized water by power supply and convert it into steam, so that the heated steam is supplied to the patient through the intake tube (2) together with the breathing gas. However, if the intake tube (2) is not equipped with a heating wire, sufficiently heated breathing gas cannot be supplied, and if used in this state for a long period of time, there is a possibility that it may have a negative effect on the patient.

[0005] To solve this problem, an intake manifold (2) equipped with a heating wire has been introduced, but it has many connecting parts and many connecting devices such as temperature sensors and heating probes, making it difficult to operate, and there is a high possibility of failure and the risk of electromagnetic waves.

[0006] The present invention is intended to solve the above problems, and the purpose is to provide a breathing circuit device for an artificial respirator that can sufficiently heat breathing gas without using a heating wire, thereby providing breathing gas humidified at an appropriate temperature to a patient, is free from the risk of electromagnetic waves, and facilitates breathing circuit management.

[0007] In order to achieve the above object, the present invention provides a breathing circuit device for an artificial respirator, comprising: an intake pipe through which breathing gas generated in the artificial respirator moves toward a patient; a humidifying module provided at one end of the intake pipe to receive heated sterilized water from a heating module and to supplement moisture to the breathing gas passing through the intake pipe; and a moisture supply pipe through which the sterilized water passing through the heating module passes through the intake pipe; wherein the moisture supply pipe is provided adjacently along the length of the intake pipe, so that the breathing gas passing through the intake pipe is warmed by the influence of the heated sterilized water passing through the moisture supply pipe.

[0008] Additionally, the water supply pipe can be wound from one end of the intake pipe to the other end.

[0009] In addition, the above-mentioned suction pipe may further include a moisture recovery pipe for recovering the remaining sterilized water to the heating module in addition to the moisture supply pipe.

[0010] Additionally, the water supply pipe and the water recovery pipe can be wound from one end of the intake pipe to the other end so as to be arranged alternately.

[0011] In addition, the above humidifying module may be equipped with a humidifying filter inside that naturally vaporizes heated sterilized water supplied through a moisture supply pipe.

[0012] According to the present invention, a moisture supply pipe through which heated sterilized water passes is provided adjacent to an intake pipe, so that respiratory gas passing through the intake pipe is heated to a predetermined temperature by the heated sterilized water passing through the moisture supply pipe, and moisture of the heated sterilized water is supplemented to the heated respiratory gas in this way within a humidifying module, so that respiratory gas having optimal humidity and temperature can be provided to a patient.

[0013] In addition, since the remaining sterilized water is returned to the heating module through the water recovery pipe and reused, breathing gas with optimal humidity and temperature can be provided to the patient for a long period of time without a continuous supply of sterilized water.

[0014] The present invention does not involve a heating wire inside the breathing circuit, so there is no risk of electromagnetic waves, and the connection between each component can be minimized, making it easy to manage the breathing circuit.

[0020] The present invention proposes a breathing circuit device for a ventilator, comprising: an intake tube through which breathing gas generated from a ventilator moves toward a patient, so as to sufficiently heat the breathing gas without using a heating wire, thereby providing the patient with breathing gas humidified at an appropriate temperature, without the risk of electromagnetic waves, and so as to facilitate management of the breathing circuit; a humidification module provided at one end of the intake tube and receiving heated sterilized water from a heating module to supplement moisture to the breathing gas passing through the intake tube; and a moisture supply tube through which the sterilized water passing through the heating module passes through the intake tube; wherein the moisture supply tube is provided adjacently along the length of the intake tube, so that the breathing gas passing through the intake tube is warmed by the influence of the heated sterilized water passing through the moisture supply tube.

[0021] The scope of the present invention is not limited to the embodiments described below, and various modifications may be made by a person having ordinary knowledge in the relevant technical field without departing from the technical spirit of the present invention.

[0022] Hereinafter, the breathing circuit device for an artificial respirator according to the present invention is described in detail with reference to the attached drawings 2 to 5.

[0023]

[0024] The breathing circuit device for an artificial respirator of the present invention connects the artificial respirator (100) and the patient, and can be configured so that the breathing gas generated from the artificial respirator (100) is supplied to the patient, and the exhaust gas including carbon dioxide exhaled by the patient flows into the artificial respirator (100). In particular, it is configured so that the breathing gas having the optimal humidity and temperature can be supplied to the patient, and for this purpose, the present invention includes an intake tube (200), a humidification module (400), and a moisture supply pipe (510) as illustrated in FIG. 2.

[0025] The inhalation tube (200) is formed in the form of a tube having a predetermined length, one end of which is connected to the ventilator (100) and the other end is connected to a branch tube (600). Accordingly, the respiratory gas generated from the ventilator (100) moves along the inhalation tube (200) and is supplied to the patient through the branch tube (600).

[0026] At this time, the breathing gas passes through the humidifying module (400) before the intake pipe (200).

[0027] The humidifying module (400) receives sterilized water heated by the heating module (300) and supplements moisture to the respiratory gas flowing into the intake tube (200). The heating module (300) here may be configured to heat the sterilized water to a certain temperature and discharge it to the outside through a pump. Meanwhile, the specific structure of the humidifying module (400) will be described later.

[0028] The moisture supply pipe (510) allows the sterilized water heated in the heating module (300) to be supplied to the intake pipe (200) through the humidifying module (400). Furthermore, the moisture supply pipe (510) passes through the humidifying module (400) and extends to the branch pipe (600), and is installed adjacently along the longitudinal direction of the intake pipe (200). Here, the moisture supply pipe (510) being installed adjacently along the longitudinal direction of the intake pipe (200) may mean that the moisture supply pipe (510) is installed adjacently parallel to the direction forming the length of the intake pipe (200), but may also mean that the moisture supply pipe (510) is installed adjacently for a certain length of the intake pipe (200) although not parallel to the direction forming the length of the intake pipe (200).

[0029] Accordingly, the respiratory gas passing through the intake pipe (200) can be heated by the effect of the heated sterilized water passing through the moisture supply pipe (510). At this time, for effective heating of the respiratory gas, the moisture supply pipe (510) is preferably formed in the form of a tube having a smaller diameter than the intake pipe (200) and is wound around the intake pipe (200) by a predetermined length. As shown in FIG. 2, it is more preferable to be wound from one end of the intake pipe (200) through which the respiratory gas flows in to the other end of the intake pipe (200) through which the respiratory gas flows out. Since the moisture supply pipe (510) has a large contact area with the intake pipe (200), it can effectively heat the respiratory gas passing through the intake pipe (200).

[0030] Meanwhile, the heated sterilized water supplied to the humidifying module (400) through the moisture supply pipe (510) may be completely vaporized in the humidifying module (400) and supplemented to the respiratory gas. However, it is preferable to ensure continuous movement of the sterilized water through the moisture supply pipe (510) for effective heating of the respiratory gas. In this case, only a portion of the sterilized water supplied to the humidifying module (400) is vaporized and supplemented to the respiratory gas, and the remaining sterilized water will remain in the humidifying module (400) and the moisture supply pipe (510). Therefore, it is preferable to utilize the remaining sterilized water. Accordingly, the present invention may further include a moisture recovery pipe (520) for utilizing the remaining sterilized water.

[0031] The moisture recovery pipe (520) allows the remaining sterilized water in the humidifying module (400) and the moisture supply pipe (510) to be recovered to the heating module (300), as shown in FIG. 2. The moisture recovery pipe (520), like the moisture supply pipe (510), may be provided adjacent to the intake pipe (200) along the length thereof, so that the respiratory gas passing through the intake pipe (200) may be heated by the influence of the heated sterilized water passing through the moisture recovery pipe (520) as well as the moisture supply pipe (510).

[0032] At this time, in order to effectively heat the respiratory gas, it is preferable that the moisture recovery pipe (520) be formed in the form of a pipe having a smaller diameter than the intake pipe (200) and be wound around the intake pipe (200) by a predetermined length, and as illustrated in FIG. 2, it is more preferable that it be wound from one end of the intake pipe (200) through which the respiratory gas flows in to the other end of the intake pipe (200) through which the respiratory gas flows out. Since the moisture recovery pipe (520), like the moisture supply pipe (510), has a large contact area with the intake pipe (200), it can effectively heat the respiratory gas passing through the intake pipe (200). In addition, when both the moisture supply pipe (510) and the moisture recovery pipe (520) are wound around the intake pipe (200), it is preferable that the moisture supply pipe (510) and the moisture recovery pipe (520) are wound around the intake pipe (200) from one end to the other so that the moisture supply pipe (510) and the moisture recovery pipe (520) are alternately arranged. Accordingly, the moisture supply pipe (510) and the moisture recovery pipe (520) can be wound around the intake pipe (200) without mutual interference, so that the sterilized water passing through them can heat the respiratory gas.

[0033] As described above, the present invention is such that the respiratory gas passing through the intake tube (200) is replenished with moisture from heated sterilized water within the humidifying module (400), and is heated to a predetermined temperature by the heated sterilized water passing through the moisture supply pipe (510), so that the respiratory gas having the optimal humidity and temperature can be provided to the patient. In addition, since the remaining sterilized water in the moisture supply pipe (510) returns to the heating module (300) through the moisture recovery pipe (520) and the humidifying module (400) and is reused, the respiratory gas having the optimal humidity and temperature can be provided to the patient for a long time without continuous supply of sterilized water. Since the present invention does not use a heating wire in heating the respiratory gas to a predetermined temperature, there is no risk of electromagnetic waves.

[0034] Meanwhile, looking specifically at the humidifying module (400) of the present invention, the humidifying module (400) may be provided with a humidifying filter (410) inside the humidifying body to supplement moisture to the respiratory gas passing through the humidifying module (400).

[0035] Specifically, as illustrated in FIGS. 3 to 5, the humidifier body is formed in a tubular shape and can be laid out in a lying position. For example, it can be formed in a cylindrical or polygonal shape. In addition, the shape of the humidifier body can vary depending on the shape of the humidifying filter (410) provided inside, but is not necessarily limited thereto. The following description assumes that the humidifier body of the present invention has a square tubular shape.

[0036] And, as shown in FIGS. 3 and 4, the humidifying body may be formed with a gas inlet (420) at one end through which respiratory gas flows in, and a gas outlet (430) at the other end through which humidified respiratory gas flows out. That is, the respiratory gas that flows into the interior of the humidifying body through the gas inlet (420) is replenished with moisture by the humidifying filter (410) and then discharged to the outside of the humidifying body through the gas outlet (430). One end and the other end of the humidifying body may be formed to have a width that gradually narrows toward the outside for smooth movement of gas, and the gas inlet (420) and the gas outlet (430) may be formed to protrude outward from a point having the narrowest width.

[0037] For example, for convenience of production and assembly, such a humidifying body may be configured to include a first humidifying body (400a), a second humidifying body (400b), a first cover body (400c), and a second cover body (400d), as illustrated in FIGS. 3 to 5. The first humidifying body (400a) may be formed to include the other end of the humidifying body in which a gas outlet (430) is protruded, and a side wall constituting a side surface of the humidifying body. That is, the first humidifying body (400a) may have a frame shape that is open at the top and bottom so that a humidifying filter (410) can be positioned inside.

[0038] The second humidifying body (400b) may be formed to include one end of the humidifying body from which the gas inlet (420) is protruded, and may be coupled or attached to the first humidifying body (400a). In addition, a bacterial filter (480) may be provided at a point of the second humidifying body (400b) adjacent to the first humidifying body (400a). For example, the bacterial filter (480) may be formed in a plate shape, and a filter receiving protrusion may be formed along the inner side of the edge of the second humidifying body (400b) so that the bacterial filter (480) is received inside. Accordingly, before the respiratory gas introduced through the gas inlet (420) connected to the intake pipe (200) is replenished with moisture by the humidifying filter (410), fine dust components such as dust and bacteria contained therein may be filtered out by the bacterial filter (480).

[0039] And, in the second humidifying body (400b), a first moisture inlet (460) for connecting to a moisture supply pipe (510) connected from a heating module (300) and a first moisture outlet (470) for connecting a moisture recovery pipe (520) to the heating module (300) may be formed protrudingly. However, the first moisture inlet (460) and / or the first moisture outlet (470) do not necessarily have to be formed in the second humidifying body (400b), and may be formed in the first humidifying body (400a), the first cover body (400c), and the second cover body (400d). In addition, the first moisture inlet (460) may be formed at the bottom of the humidifying body, and the first moisture outlet (470) may be formed at the top of the humidifying body, or conversely, the first moisture inlet (460) may be formed at the top of the humidifying body, and the first moisture outlet (470) may be formed at the bottom of the humidifying body.

[0040] Meanwhile, in the first humidifying body (400a), a second moisture outlet (475) for connecting to a moisture supply pipe (510) that comes out of the humidifying module (400) and leads to the respiratory tube (200), and a second moisture inlet (465) for connecting the moisture recovery pipe (520) on the respiratory tube (200) side and the humidifying module (400) may be formed protrudingly.

[0041] Accordingly, the sterilized water heated through the heating module (300) enters the humidifying module (400) through the first moisture inlet (460) via the moisture supply pipe (510), then exits through the second moisture outlet (475) to the moisture supply pipe (510) on the respiratory tube (200) side, and after being recovered through the moisture recovery pipe (520), passes through the second moisture inlet (465), the humidifying module (400), and the first moisture extraction pipe (470) sequentially before entering the heating module (300) again.

[0042] The first cover body (400c) may be formed to include a side wall constituting the lower surface of the humidifying body, and is configured to seal the open lower side of the first humidifying body (400a). In addition, the second cover body (400d) may be formed to include a side wall constituting the upper surface of the humidifying body, and is configured to seal the open upper side of the first humidifying body (400a).

[0043] In the specific example of the above-described humidifying module, it is described / illustrated that one humidifying filter (410) is provided inside the humidifying body (100), but multiple humidifying filters (200) may be provided inside the humidifying body (100).

[0044] The humidifying filter (410) is provided inside the humidifying body and may be configured to naturally vaporize sterilized water. Accordingly, the humidifying filter (410) may be made of materials such as polyester or 3D mesh for easy natural vaporization, but is not limited thereto and may be made of various materials for effective natural vaporization. In addition, the humidifying filter (410) may be made of various shapes, taking into account the shape of the humidifying body and the installation structure within the humidifying body.

[0045] For example, the humidifying filter (410) may be provided to be spaced apart from the side wall of the humidifying body so that a passage (440) is formed between the side wall connecting one end and the other end of the humidifying body. Accordingly, the sterilized water to be vaporized in the humidifying filter (410) may be introduced into the humidifying body through the moisture supply pipe (510) connected to the first moisture inlet (460) and supplied to the passage (440), and may move along the passage (440) to wet the humidifying filter (410) from multiple directions, thereby enhancing the humidifying effect.

[0046] In order to ensure that the humidifying filter (410) is spaced apart from the side wall of the humidifying main body, when the humidifying main body is formed in a square shape with the side walls forming an upper surface, a lower surface, and two side surfaces, as illustrated in FIGS. 3 and 5, a flow path forming wall (450) may be provided on the inner side of the side walls forming the two side surfaces at a predetermined distance from the corresponding side walls to form a flow path (440). For example, a flow path forming wall (450) may be formed on the inner side of the side wall of the first humidifying main body (400a), so that a flow path (440) through which sterilized water can move may be formed between the side wall and the flow path forming wall (450). At this time, the flow path forming wall (450) and the side wall adjacent thereto may be connected through a gap maintaining piece (451), so that the flow path (440) formed therebetween may maintain a certain shape.

[0047] It is preferable that the flow path forming wall (450) formed in the first humidifying body (400a) be formed to be spaced apart from the first cover body (400c) and the second cover body (400d), so that a flow path (440) is formed between the side walls forming the upper and lower surfaces of the humidifying body and the humidifying filter (410). Therefore, as in the example shown in FIG. 5, the sterilized water supplied to the flow path (440) formed between the side walls forming the lower surface of the humidifying body and the humidifying filter (410) wets the lower side of the humidifying filter (410), and also moves to the flow path (440) formed between the side walls forming the upper surface of the humidifying body and the humidifying filter (410) through the flow path (440) formed between the side walls forming the side surfaces of the humidifying body and the humidifying filter (410), so that the upper side of the humidifying filter (200) is wetted.

[0048] In order for the humidifying filter (410) to be firmly fixed in a state spaced apart from the side wall of the humidifying body having a rectangular shape and a flow-forming wall (450), the humidifying filter (410) is adjacent to the flow-forming wall (450) facing each other while having a rectangular shape as shown in FIGS. 4 and 5, and the upper and lower surfaces thereof extend outward so that the humidifying filter (410) can be fixed by being attached to the upper and lower ends of the flow-forming wall (450).

[0049] As described above, the humidifying module (400) of the present invention can supply moisture to respiratory gas by naturally vaporizing sterilized water through the humidifying filter (410), and thus does not require power for humidification, so that respiratory gas containing sufficient moisture can be provided to patients even in external locations where power supply is difficult, and the problem of power shortage can be solved when using ambulances, emergency helicopters, etc.

[0050] Meanwhile, the present invention may further include a branch pipe (600) for supplying respiratory gas having optimal humidity and temperature to the patient, and an exhaust pipe (700) for allowing exhaust gas including carbon dioxide exhaled by the patient to flow into the ventilator (100).

[0051] The branch pipe (600) is connected to the patient at one end, and has an intake port and an exhaust port formed at the other end branched into two, and may be formed in the shape of a 'Y' pipe, for example. Accordingly, the intake port may be connected to the other end of the humidifying module (400), and the respiratory gas that has entered the branch pipe (600) through the intake port is supplied to the patient through one end, and as the patient exhales, the exhaust gas that has entered the branch pipe (600) through one end moves through the exhaust port to the exhaust pipe (700) that is connected to the exhaust port.

[0052] The exhaust pipe (700) is in the form of a tube having a predetermined length, one end of which is connected to the ventilator (100), and the other end is connected to the exhaust port of the branch pipe (600). Accordingly, exhaust gas generated from the patient passes through the branch pipe (600) and moves along the exhaust pipe (700) toward the ventilator (100).

[0053] And the intake pipe (200), branch pipe (600), and exhaust pipe (700) may be made of a hard material, but for convenience of use, the whole or part may be made of a soft material, or the whole or part may be made of a structure that can be bent. For example, the intake pipe (200) and the exhaust pipe (700) may have both ends connected to other components made of a hard material, and the remaining portion may be made of a soft material. As another example, the intake pipe (200) and the exhaust pipe (700) may have a wrinkled structure in which the remaining portions except for both ends can be bent and the length thereof can be increased or decreased.

[0054] The breathing circuit device for an artificial respirator of the present invention described above is simplified compared to conventional breathing circuit devices, and thus is convenient to use in narrow spaces or when moving, and reduces the burden on medical staff or caregivers in responding to emergency situations and managing breathing circuits, and not only is there less risk of leakage due to a reduction in connecting parts between components, but also gas turbulence is reduced, so that rectified gas can be provided to the patient. In addition, since the generation of condensate is significantly reduced, malfunctions due to clogging of sensor lines or increased resistance caused by condensate can be prevented, and the use of sterilizing water can be reduced through effective moisture management such as prevention of excessive moisture.
