Abstract
Description
Driving device, driving chip and touch display device
[0001] This application claims priority to a Chinese utility model application filed on August 2, 2023, with application number 2023220656592, entitled “Driving device, driving chip and touch display device”, and incorporates the entire specification, claims, drawings and abstract of the aforementioned Chinese utility model application into this application by reference. Technical Field
[0002] The present application relates to the field of display drivers with integrated touch control, and more specifically, to a driving device, a driving chip, and a touch display device. Background Art
[0003] Touch and Display Driver Integration (TDDI) technology integrates the touch chip and display chip into a single chip, and drives the touch and display modules through time-sharing scanning, making the screen thinner. Therefore, TDDI technology is becoming increasingly popular in the display field.
[0004] The surface of the TDDI driver device is provided with multiple rows of connection structures, at least some of which are connected to the touch electrodes or pixel units on the touch display panel via connecting wires to transmit the drive signal from the TDDI chip control circuit to the touch display panel, thereby driving the touch display panel to display an image or detect touch actions. Existing TDDI chips are usually designed and produced according to certain specifications, so different connection schemes are required when matching touch display panels with different resolutions. However, due to the small wiring spacing on the TDDI chip, when matching a touch display panel with a lower resolution, it is usually necessary to make multiple "jumpers" on the LCD screen, which consumes the cost of the mask and increases the number of steps. The complex process can also easily lead to a decrease in product yield. Application Contents
[0005] In view of the above problems, the purpose of the present application is to provide a driving device, a driving chip and a touch display device for a touch display panel.
[0006] According to one aspect of the present application, a driving device for driving a touch display panel is provided, the touch display panel including a plurality of touch electrodes and a plurality of pixel units. The driving device comprises: a plurality of first connection structures distributed in a connection region along a row direction and sequentially connected to the plurality of touch electrodes via corresponding first signal lines; a plurality of second connection structures distributed in an array in the connection region, at least some of the plurality of second connection structures sequentially connected to the plurality of pixel units via corresponding second signal lines; and a driving circuit coupled to and in communication with the plurality of first connection structures to receive corresponding touch signals via the plurality of touch electrodes, and coupled to and in communication with the plurality of second connection structures to provide corresponding image data to the plurality of pixel units. The connection region includes a plurality of first areas, a plurality of second areas, and a plurality of third areas, each of the first areas including at least one first connection structure, and at a first resolution, a plurality of second connection structures not connected to the plurality of pixel units are distributed in the plurality of second areas, and a plurality of second connection structures connected to the plurality of pixel units are distributed in the plurality of third areas, the second areas and the third areas are alternately arranged along the row direction, and each of the third areas corresponds to a corresponding first area in a vertical position.
[0007] Optionally, the number of the second connection structures in at least part of the second area corresponds to the number of the pixel units driven by the image data sent by the driving circuit at the same time.
[0008] Optionally, the driving device also supports a second resolution greater than the first resolution, and at the second resolution, a plurality of second connection structures that are not connected to the plurality of pixel units are distributed in a plurality of fourth regions, wherein, in each of the second regions located between two adjacent third regions, the fourth region is arranged in the middle position of the second region along the row direction, and in each of the second regions that is adjacent to the third region on only one side, the fourth region is arranged on a side of the second region away from the third region along the row direction.
[0009] Optionally, the driving device also supports a second resolution greater than the first resolution, and at the second resolution, a plurality of second connection structures that are not connected to the plurality of pixel units are distributed in a plurality of fourth regions, wherein at least part of the second regions include the fourth regions, and the fourth regions are arranged on one side of the second region along the row direction.
[0010] Optionally, the first area includes at least one first connection group, and the first connection structures in each first connection group correspond one-to-one to a column of touch electrodes in the touch display panel.
[0011] Optionally, at least part of the first areas includes two first connection groups, and the first connection groups in the same first area are arranged continuously or at a preset distance.
[0012] Optionally, the first signal lines connected to two first connection groups in the same first region are symmetrically arranged.
[0013] According to another aspect of the present application, a driver chip for driving a touch display panel is provided, characterized in that it includes the driving device as described in any one of the above items.
[0014] According to a third aspect of the present application, a touch display device is provided, characterized in that it includes: a driving device as described in any one of the above items; and a touch display panel, the touch display panel including multiple touch electrodes and multiple pixel units, the touch electrodes are used to sense touch signals, and the pixel units are used to display images, and each of the touch electrodes corresponds to multiple pixel units.
[0015] Optionally, the touch electrodes are arranged in an array, and the first signal lines corresponding to at least some of the touch electrodes in odd-numbered columns are symmetrically arranged with the first signal lines corresponding to the adjacent touch electrodes.
[0016] According to the driver device, driver chip, and touch display device of the present application, during the adaptation process of the driver device and the touch display panel, since each of the two adjacent second regions corresponds to a corresponding first region, when the second connection structure of the second region is not connected, the connection area of the data line changes slightly, thereby having little impact on the overall routing. Furthermore, in a preferred embodiment, at least part of the first region includes two first connection groups. Accordingly, the touch lines connected to the two columns of touch electrodes corresponding to the two first connection groups are arranged on opposite sides, so that the touch lines connected to the two columns of touch electrodes corresponding to the same first region are arranged in a concentrated layout. When adapting to touch display panels with different resolutions, the routing of the touch lines and the data lines does not cross, which simplifies the wiring process of the touch display panel and the driver device, reduces the cost of the screen, and also helps improve the product yield. [0030] In the embodiments of the present application, a 6.5-inch mobile phone screen that supports 32*18=576 touch electrodes is taken as an example. However, it should be understood that the application scope of the driving device, driving chip and touch display panel of the embodiments of the present application should not be limited to this. For example, it can also support larger screens such as tablets and TVs or smaller screens such as smart watches. At the same time, the number of touch electrodes can also be increased or decreased as needed. It should be pointed out that in the present application, the row direction is used as the first direction (the x-axis direction in the figure), and the column direction is used as the second direction (the y-axis direction in the figure), and the first direction is optionally perpendicular to the second direction.
[0031] FIG1a shows a schematic diagram of wiring between a driving device for a touch display panel and a high-resolution touch display panel in the prior art; FIG1b shows a schematic diagram of wiring between a driving device and a low-resolution touch display panel in the prior art.
[0032] As shown in Figure 1a , in conventional technology, a touch display panel 600 includes multiple touch electrodes 620 and multiple pixel units 610 . Each touch electrode 620 corresponds to a display area containing multiple pixel units 610 (Figure 1a illustrates one touch electrode 620 and its corresponding 12 pixel units 610 ). Each touch electrode 620 is electrically connected to a driver device 500 via a corresponding touch line TL to receive a drive signal for touch detection. Each pixel unit 610 is electrically connected to the driver device 500 via a corresponding data line DL to receive a drive signal for image display. The driver device 500 is provided with at least four rows of connection structures. For example, the first row of connection structures includes multiple first regions 510 , each corresponding to a column of touch electrodes 620 . Specifically, each first region 510 includes multiple first connection structures 511 . Each first connection structure 511 in the same first region corresponds one-to-one to a touch electrode 620 in the same column and is electrically connected via the corresponding touch line TL. The second connection structures 521 are arranged in the bottom three rows. Each second connection structure 521 is electrically connected to the source of an active device, such as a thin-film transistor, in a column of pixel units 610 via a corresponding data line DL. When each second connection structure 521 is connected to a pixel unit 610 via a data line DL, the maximum resolution supported by the driving device is achieved.
[0033] However, because the driver device 500 is typically designed and manufactured to specific specifications, different wiring schemes are required when matching touch display panels with different resolutions. As shown in Figure 1b, when the preset resolution of the touch display panel is lower than the maximum resolution supported by the driver device (i.e., the number of pixel units 610 corresponding to a single touch electrode 620 is reduced, as shown in Figure 1b, where one touch electrode 620 corresponds to four pixel units 610), a portion of the second connection structure 521 needs to be "discarded" based on the resolution adjustment. That is, at least a portion of the second connection structure 521 is disconnected from the touch display panel. This disconnected portion of the second connection structure 521 is typically located on one side of the driver device 500, such as the disconnected region 520 shown in Figure 1b. Therefore, after the resolution is reduced, the connection of the first connection structure 511 remains unchanged, but the pixel unit 610 located on the far right of the touch display panel 600 needs to be connected to the second connection structure 521 in the middle portion of the driver device 500 via data line DL. Since the display driving device 500 is very small and wiring is difficult, more masks are needed to achieve multi-line "jumping", which increases production costs. The complex process also easily leads to a decrease in product yield.
[0034] Figure 2 shows a schematic diagram of the structure of a touch display device according to an embodiment of the present application. As shown, the touch display device 1 includes a display area and a non-display area, with the non-display area surrounding the display area. Specifically, in this embodiment, a touch display panel 400 is attached to the display area of the touch display device 1, and a driving device 100 for driving the touch display panel 400 is attached to the non-display area, such as the center below the touch display panel 400 as shown in Figure 2. The touch display panel 400 includes a display panel 410 and a touch panel 420.
[0035] Furthermore, Figure 3 shows a schematic structural diagram of a touch display panel 400. As shown in Figures 2 and 3, the display panel 410 includes a plurality of pixel units 411 arranged in an array for displaying images, a plurality of data lines DL, and a plurality of scan lines GL (not shown). For example, the data lines DL may be arranged along a first direction (the x-direction shown) and extend in a second direction (the y-direction shown), while the scan lines GL may be arranged along the second direction (the y-direction shown) and extend in the first direction (the x-direction shown). Each pixel unit 411 is electrically connected to its corresponding data line DL and scan line GL, respectively. More specifically, in some embodiments, a pixel unit 411 includes a red sub-pixel R, a green sub-pixel G, and a blue sub-pixel B. Each sub-pixel includes an active device, such as a thin-film transistor. The source of each thin-film transistor is connected to its corresponding data line DL, and the gate is connected to its corresponding scan line. It should be understood that the pixel unit 411 is not limited to this. For example, in some other embodiments, a pixel unit 411 may include a red sub-pixel R, a green sub-pixel G, a blue sub-pixel B, and a white sub-pixel W.
[0036] The touch panel 420 includes multiple touch electrodes 421 and multiple touch lines TL. In some embodiments, an insulating layer (not shown) is provided between the touch electrodes 421 and the touch lines TL. Each touch electrode 421 is electrically connected to its corresponding touch line TL via corresponding vias 422 in the insulating layer (see Figure 3 ). For example, each touch electrode 421 corresponds to three vias 422 . The routing of the touch lines TL corresponds to the locations of the vias 422 . However, it should be understood that the present application is not limited to this. For example, in other embodiments, the touch lines TL may be connected to their corresponding touch electrodes 421 in other ways. In this embodiment, the touch electrodes have different functions during different operating times. For example, they may serve as touch sensing electrodes during touch detection time and as common electrodes for pixel units during display time. By reusing the touch electrodes as common electrodes, the number of touch screen layers is reduced, which not only reduces costs but also improves panel light transmittance, resulting in a brighter display. Furthermore, by adopting a time-division multiplexing scheme, the impact of display noise on touch sensitivity can be reduced, further improving touch performance. However, the present application is not limited thereto. The display area corresponding to each touch electrode 421 includes a plurality of pixel units 411. In FIG3 , 8 touch electrodes 421 and their corresponding pixel units 411 are shown as an example, where one touch electrode 421 corresponds to 12 (3 rows arranged along the y direction * 4 columns arranged along the x direction) pixel units 411. Each touch electrode 421 is electrically connected to its corresponding touch line TL. In some embodiments, the touch lines TL corresponding to each column of touch electrodes are arranged in the same manner, that is, in different columns of touch electrodes, the relative positions of each touch electrode in the same row and its corresponding touch lines TL are the same. In an embodiment of the present application, at least some of the touch lines TL corresponding to the odd-numbered columns of touch electrodes are arranged in an opposite manner to the touch lines TL corresponding to the adjacent even-numbered columns of touch electrodes, so that the touch lines TL corresponding to the odd-numbered columns of touch electrodes and the adjacent even-numbered columns of touch electrodes are symmetrically arranged. For example, in FIG3 , the touch lines corresponding to the odd-numbered columns of touch electrodes are arranged sequentially from right to left, separated by a predetermined distance (e.g., d1) from top to bottom. Meanwhile, the touch lines corresponding to the adjacent even-numbered columns of touch electrodes are arranged sequentially from left to right, separated by a predetermined distance (e.g., d1) from top to bottom. This ensures that the touch lines TL corresponding to two adjacent columns of touch electrodes are symmetrically arranged, further facilitating the centralized arrangement of the touch lines corresponding to the two adjacent columns of touch electrodes.
[0037] Figure 4 shows a schematic structural diagram of a driving device according to the first embodiment of the present application. Because the driving device is bilaterally symmetrical in design, only the right portion of Figure 4 is used as an example for detailed description. Figure 5 shows a schematic diagram of the arrangement of the multiple connection structures in Figure 4. As shown in Figures 4 and 5, the connection area of the driving device 100 includes at least one row of first connection structures 111, an array of second connection structures 121, and a driving circuit (not shown). Each first connection structure 111 is electrically connected to a corresponding touch electrode 421 via a touch line TL, and at least some of the second connection structures 121 are electrically connected to corresponding pixel cells 411 via data lines DL. The driving circuit is coupled to and communicates with each first connection structure to receive corresponding touch signals via the multiple touch electrodes. Furthermore, the driving circuit is coupled to and communicates with multiple second connection structures to provide image data to the pixel cells. In some embodiments, the first connection structures 111 are positioned below the second connection structures 121. In the first embodiment of the present application, as shown, the first connection structures 111 are positioned above the second connection structures 121. For example, corresponding to a pixel unit 411 in the display touch panel 400 shown in Figure 3, including R, G, and B sub-pixels, in order to reduce the volume of the driving device 100 and to facilitate wiring, the driving device 100 is provided with a row of first connection structures 111 and three rows of second connection structures 121. Each row of second connection structures 121 corresponds to a sub-pixel of a color, and the three second connection structures 121 in the same column are respectively connected to the R, G, and B sub-pixels of the pixel unit 411 in the same column through corresponding data lines DL. In addition, in this embodiment, the connection structures in the same column are staggered in pairs, which is more convenient for the layout of the connection lines. However, it should be understood that in some other embodiments, the second connection structures in the same row can correspond to sub-pixels of different colors, and the connection structures in the same column can also be aligned with each other.
[0038] Furthermore, the first connection structure 111 is divided into multiple first regions 110 along the x-axis shown in the figure. The first connection structures 111 corresponding to the same column of touch electrodes 421 are considered a first connection group 10, with each first region 110 including at least one first connection group 10. In a preferred embodiment, at least some first regions 110 include two first connection groups 10. Accordingly, the touch lines TL corresponding to the two columns of touch electrodes corresponding to the two first connection groups are arranged in opposite directions, thereby making the touch lines TL corresponding to the two columns of touch electrodes symmetrical with each other, further concentrating the layout of the touch lines connected to the two columns of touch electrodes corresponding to the same first region (as shown in FIG3 ). Furthermore, in some embodiments, the first connection groups 10 located in the same first region 110 are arranged consecutively. In other embodiments, the first connection groups 10 located in the same first region 110 are spaced apart by a certain distance to facilitate compatibility with the drive circuit of the drive device 100. The second connection structure 121 is divided into multiple second regions 120 and multiple third regions 130 along the x-axis shown in the figure. The second regions 120 and the third regions 130 are arranged alternately, and each first region 110 corresponds to a position between two adjacent second regions 120 (i.e., the position of one third region 130). In this embodiment, each first region 110 is located above a position between two adjacent second regions 120. When the resolution of the touch display panel 400 is the first resolution supported by the driving device 100, only the second connection structures 121 in the third region 130 are electrically connected to their corresponding pixel units 411 via corresponding data lines DL. When the resolution of the touch display panel 400 is a third resolution higher than the first resolution, each second connection structure 121 in both the second region 120 and the third region 130 is electrically connected to their corresponding pixel units 411 via corresponding data lines DL.
[0039] Furthermore, in some embodiments, due to limitations in the driver circuit, image data for multiple pixel units may be sent simultaneously to expand data bandwidth (for example, image data for 12 sub-pixels from 4 pixel units may be sent simultaneously). Therefore, to accommodate the driver circuit, in some embodiments, the number of second connection structures 121 in each second region 120 is preferably an integer multiple of the number of sub-pixel units corresponding to the image data simultaneously sent by the driver circuit. However, it should be understood that because the total number of second connection structures 121 in each second region 120 is controlled by the varying values of the first and third resolutions, the number of second connection structures 121 in at least one second region 120 is not evenly divisible by the number of sub-pixel units corresponding to the image data simultaneously sent by the driver circuit (for example, not evenly divisible by 12). Therefore, in a preferred embodiment, this second region is positioned at the farthest end, meaning that each second connection structure 121 in this second region receives image data last.
[0040] Therefore, during the adaptation process between the drive device and the touch display panel, since each of the two adjacent second regions corresponds to a corresponding first region, when the second connection structure of the second region is disconnected, the connection area of the data line changes slightly, thereby having a smaller impact on the overall routing. Furthermore, in a preferred embodiment, at least a portion of the first region includes two first connection groups. Accordingly, the touch lines connected to the two columns of touch electrodes corresponding to the two first connection groups are arranged on opposite sides, so that the touch lines connected to the two columns of touch electrodes corresponding to the same first region are arranged in a concentrated layout. When adapting to touch display panels with different resolutions, the touch lines and data lines do not cross each other, simplifying the wiring process between the touch display panel and the drive device, reducing screen costs, and simplifying the process to improve product yield.
[0041] For a more detailed description, let's take the example of a driver device 100 supporting a first resolution of 1280*720 and a third resolution of 2100*900. The connected touch display panel has 32 rows and 18 columns of touch electrodes 421, connected in a mux 1:1 configuration (mux 1:1 indicates one sub-pixel corresponds to one data line). The touch display device 100 then includes 18 first connection groups 10, each of which includes 32 first connection structures 111 (in FIG. 4 , each first connection structure group shows two first connection structures 111, by way of example). When the touch display panel 100 connected to the driver 100 has a resolution of 2100*900 (i.e., 2100 rows*900 columns of pixel units 411 are provided on the touch display panel 100), the R, G, and B sub-pixels in the same column of pixel units 411 each have a corresponding data line DL connected to them. Therefore, the 900 columns of pixel units 411 are connected to a total of 2700 data lines DL. In other words, the driver 100 includes at least 2700 second connection structures 121 connected to the source electrodes of the thin-film transistors in the corresponding column of sub-pixel units via a corresponding data line DL. Therefore, 576 first connection structures 111 are required in the first row of the touch display panel 100, and 900 second connection structures 121 are required in each of the following three rows. To facilitate the production of the touch display panel 100, the number of connection structures in each row is generally the same. Therefore, the first row of connection structures also includes multiple third connection structures 112. In some embodiments, the third connection structures 112 are distributed on both sides of the first region 110. In some other embodiments, the third connection structures 112 are also distributed between the first connection groups 10 in the same first region 110. Furthermore, in some embodiments, for design convenience, at least part of the third connection structures 112 can be replaced with second connection structures 121 connected to the data lines DL.
[0042] Further, according to calculations, when the resolution is 2100*900, the display area corresponding to each column of touch electrodes 421 includes 50 columns of pixel cells 411. In other words, each first connection group 10 corresponds to a total of 150 second connection structures 121 connected to the 50 columns of pixel cells 411. When the resolution is 1280*720, the display area corresponding to each column of touch electrodes 421 includes 40 columns of pixel cells 411. In other words, each first connection group 10 corresponds to 120 second connection structures connected to the 40 columns of pixel cells 411. In a preferred embodiment, as shown in FIG4 , each first region 110 includes two first connection groups 10. The second connection structures 121 are divided into a plurality of second regions 120 and a plurality of third regions 130 based on the aforementioned quantitative relationship. The second regions 120 and the third regions 130 are arranged alternately, with each first region 110 corresponding to a position between two adjacent second regions 120 (for example, in this embodiment, the first region 110 is located above the position between two adjacent second regions 120). Since the position of each first region 110 corresponds to the position between two adjacent second regions 120, the impact of changes in the connection status of each second connection structure 121 in the second region 120 on the wiring status of the remaining touch lines TL and / or data lines DL can be reduced, thereby reducing the production cost of the driving device 100 in the process of adapting to touch display driving panels 400 with different resolutions. In addition, since the wiring process is simplified, it is also conducive to improving product yield.
[0043] It should be understood that since the right portion of the touch display device shown in FIG4 includes nine first connection groups 10, one first region 110 in FIG4 includes only one first connection group 10. That is, in this embodiment, the touch display device 100 as a whole includes a total of ten first regions 110. The two first regions 110 located on either side of the touch display device 100 each include one first connection group 10, and the remaining first regions 110 each include two first connection groups 10. Accordingly, in some embodiments, the touch lines TL corresponding to at least some odd-numbered columns of touch electrodes in the touch panel 400 connected to the first embodiment of the present application are arranged on opposite sides of the touch lines TL corresponding to the adjacent even-numbered columns of touch electrodes. This ensures that the touch lines TL corresponding to the two first connection groups 10 in the same first region 110 are distributed between the corresponding two columns of touch electrodes 421, further positioning the touch lines TL away from the data lines DL connected to the second connection structures 121 in the second region, thereby reducing the impact of the touch line TL routing on the data lines DL connected to the second connection structures 121 in the second region. However, the present application should not be limited thereto. For example, in some embodiments, corresponding to the 18 columns of touch electrodes 421 , the touch display device 100 may be further divided into 9 first areas 110 , and each first area 110 includes two first connection groups 10 .
[0044] Furthermore, in some embodiments, the second area can be further divided to enable the driving device to support more resolutions between the first resolution and the third resolution. Taking the support of the first resolution, a third resolution higher than the first resolution, and a second resolution between the first and third resolutions as an example, the present application provides a second embodiment.
[0045] Figure 6 shows a schematic structural diagram of a driving device 200 according to a second embodiment of the present application. Because the driving device is bilaterally symmetrical in design, only the right portion of Figure 6 is used as an example for detailed description. As shown, the driving device 200 according to the second embodiment of the present application comprises a plurality of first regions 210 and a plurality of alternating second regions 220 and third regions 230. A first region 210 corresponds to a location between two adjacent second regions 220 (the location of the third region 230). Each first region 210 includes a plurality of first connection structures (not shown) electrically connected to touch electrodes via touch lines. Each second region 220 and each third region 230 includes a plurality of second connection structures (not shown) electrically connected to pixel cells via data lines. Furthermore, the driving device 200 according to the second embodiment of the present application differs from the driving device 100 according to the first embodiment of the present application in that, in the second embodiment of the driving device 200, each second region 220 also includes a fourth region 221. When the touch display panel has a first resolution supported by the driver device 200, the second connection structures in the second region 220 are disconnected. When the touch display panel has a third resolution supported by the driver device 200, the second connection structures in the second and third regions 220, 230 are electrically connected to their corresponding pixel units via corresponding data lines DL. When the touch display panel has a second resolution, only the second connection structures in the fourth region 221 are disconnected from the touch display panel. Because the second connection structures (the second connection structures in the fourth region 221) that are disconnected when adapting to the second resolution are located in each second region 220 away from adjacent third regions 220, for example, in each second region 220 located between two adjacent third regions 230, the fourth region is located in the middle of the second region along the row direction. In each second region 220 connected to the third region 230 on only one side, the fourth region 221 is located on one side of the second region 220 away from the adjacent third region 230 along the row direction, this facilitates wiring of the driver device panel. However, it should be understood that the present application is not limited to this. For example, in some embodiments, the fourth region can be further divided to support more resolutions. In addition, it should be noted that the specific number of fourth regions and the number of second connection structures in the fourth region are determined according to the adjustment value of the resolution, and therefore, they are not described in detail in the embodiments of the present application.
[0046] Figure 7 illustrates a schematic diagram of the internal shift register structure of a driver device in some embodiments. Similarly, based on the symmetrical structure of the driver device, the shift register structure on the right side of Figure 7 is used as an example (for illustrative purposes, only a portion of the right circuit is shown). As shown, in some embodiments, due to circuit limitations, image data for multiple pixel units may be transmitted simultaneously to expand data bandwidth (in this embodiment, image data for 12 R, G, and B sub-pixels from four pixels is transmitted simultaneously as an example). Therefore, to correspond to the shift register circuit and further facilitate power management of the subsequent latch circuit and amplifier driver circuit, the grouping of the second connection structures in the second region is further optimized so that the number of second connection structures in each second region and the fourth region corresponds to the number of sub-pixel image data transmitted simultaneously within the driver device, thereby balancing the internal circuitry of the driver device and external wiring.
[0047] Figure 8 shows a schematic structural diagram of a driving device 300 according to the third embodiment of the present application. Because the driving device is bilaterally symmetrical in design, Figure 8 only uses the right portion as an example for detailed description. As shown in the figure, the driving device 300 according to the second embodiment of the present application includes a plurality of first regions 310 and a plurality of second regions 320 and third regions 330 arranged alternately. Each first region 310 includes a plurality of first connection structures (not shown in the figure) electrically connected to touch electrodes via touch lines, and each second region 320 and each third region 330 includes a plurality of second connection structures (not shown in the figure) electrically connected to pixel units via data lines. Each first region 310 corresponds to a position between two adjacent second regions 320.
[0048] The driving device 300 of the third embodiment of the present application differs from the driving device 200 of the second embodiment of the present application in the manner in which the fourth region 321 is divided. Specifically, in the third embodiment of the present application, at least a portion of the second region 320 includes the fourth region 321, wherein the second connection structures located on one side of the second region 320 are divided into fourth regions 331, and the number of second connection structures in each fourth region 321 corresponds to the number of sub-pixel image data simultaneously transmitted within the driving device. More specifically, in conjunction with Figures 7 and 8, when the touch display panel has a first resolution, each second connection structure in the second region 320 is not connected to the touch display panel. In this case, the first signal and the second signal are both low, and the register circuit corresponding to the second region 320 does not participate in signal transmission. When the touch display panel has a third resolution higher than the first resolution, each second connection structure in the second region 220 and the third region 230 is electrically connected to its corresponding pixel unit via a corresponding data line DL. In this case, the first signal is high (active) and the second signal is low (inactive), and all components of the register circuit participate in signal transmission. When the resolution of the touch display panel is a second resolution between the first resolution and the third resolution, only the second connection structures in the fourth area 321 are not electrically connected to the touch display panel. At this time, the first signal is at a low level and the second signal is at a high level. The register circuit corresponding to the fourth area 321 does not participate in signal transmission. Since the fourth area 321 is located on one side of the second area 320, the access points of the first signal and the second signal are minimized, which is more convenient for setting the internal register circuit of the driving device. However, it should be understood that the present application should not be limited to this. For example, the specific number of the fourth area and the number of the second connection structures in the fourth area need to be determined according to the actual adjustment of the resolution. The position of the fourth area in each second area can also be set on different sides. In the embodiments of the present application, there are no excessive restrictions.
[0049] Furthermore, it should be understood that in some embodiments, in order to achieve more flexible resolution adjustment, zero-padding may be performed at appropriate locations in the digital circuit corresponding to the driving device of the embodiment of the present application.
[0050] The present application also provides a driver chip for driving a touch display panel, including a driver device according to any one of the above embodiments, and also has the beneficial effects of any one of the above embodiments, which will not be described in detail here.
[0051] According to the driver device, driver chip, and touch display device of the present application, during the adaptation process of the driver device and the touch display panel, since each of the two adjacent second regions corresponds to a corresponding first region, when the second connection structure of the second region is not connected, the connection area of the data line changes slightly, thereby having little impact on the overall routing.
[0052] The embodiments of the present application are as described above, and these embodiments do not describe all details in detail, nor do they limit the application to specific embodiments. Obviously, based on the above description, many modifications and variations can be made. This specification selects and specifically describes these embodiments in order to better explain the principles and practical applications of the present application, so that those skilled in the art can make good use of the present application and the modifications based on the present application. The scope of protection of the present application shall be based on the scope defined by the claims of the present application.
