[0036] In the technical solution of this application, the collection, dissemination, and use of data comply with the requirements of relevant national laws and regulations.

[0037] Before introducing a 5G indoor base station positioning method provided by an embodiment of the present application, in order to facilitate understanding, the technical background of the embodiment of the present application is first introduced in detail below.

[0038] With the development and improvement of Beidou technology, 3GPP R16 began to introduce 5G base station positioning functions. Currently, active indoor base stations of equipment manufacturers already support uplink time difference of arrival (UTDOA) positioning technology with an accuracy of meters, which is mainly used for indoor positioning. However, considering the network deployment cost, about 50% of the actual deployment of 5G active indoor base stations in existing networks adopts the method of active indoor remote radio unit (RRU) with external passive antenna for coverage. For example, the actual 5G indoor positioning network architecture of the existing network is shown in Figure 1. In this deployment scheme, the baseband processing unit (BBU) sends the physical cell identifier (PCI) and transmission-reception point (TRP) information of the same RRU to multiple passive antennas, that is, multiple passive antennas use the same PCI and the same TRP information. When the BBU receives the terminal measurement report, it cannot determine which passive antenna the terminal measurement report is reported through, so the passive antenna cannot participate in the positioning solution, resulting in reduced user positioning accuracy or even failure to locate. The convergence unit (HuB) in FIG1 is a hub, and the LMF in FIG1 is a location management function (LMF).

[0039] In order to solve the above problems, the present invention proposes a 5G indoor base station positioning method and device. First, identification information corresponding to the passive antenna is generated through positioning, including virtual PCI information and virtual TRP information, and the virtual identification information of the first passive antenna replaces the identification of the configured first passive antenna, so that the BBU of the base station can distinguish the passive antenna of the transmission terminal measurement report according to the identification information such as the virtual information PCI and virtual TRP information corresponding to each first passive antenna, determine the position of the passive antenna, and enable the passive antenna to participate in the base station positioning solution, thereby improving the user positioning accuracy.

[0040] It is understood that the 5G indoor base station positioning method provided in this application can be performed by a positioning device. The positioning device includes an information processing module (or simply a processing module) and an information storage module (or simply a storage module). The positioning device includes the BBU of the 5G base station, and the BBU can be equipped with a processing module and a storage module.

[0041] The processing module enables the 5G base station's BBU to distinguish the passive antenna used by a terminal device when uploading a terminal measurement report, and reports the terminal measurement report and the identification information of the passive antenna used to the LMF. The storage module can be used to store the passive antenna's coordinate information, corresponding antenna port information, virtual PCI, and the path delay from the passive antenna to the BBU.

[0042] As shown in FIG2 , a 5G indoor base station positioning method provided in this application may include the following steps:

[0043] Step 101: Acquire identification information of a passive antenna, where the identification information of the passive antenna includes virtual PCI information and virtual TRP information. The virtual PCI information is used to determine cell information of the passive antenna, and the virtual TRP information is used to determine location information of the passive antenna.

[0044] In a possible embodiment, step 101 may be performed by a BBU.

[0045] In a possible embodiment, the BBU may generate identification information of the passive antenna according to known passive antennas, where each piece of identification information corresponds to a passive antenna.

[0046] Optionally, the identification information includes coordinate information of the passive antenna, antenna port information corresponding to the passive antenna, virtual PCI information of the passive antenna, virtual TRP information of the passive antenna, and channel delay from the passive antenna to the BBU, where the channel delay from the passive antenna to the BBU can be measured or estimated based on the frequency band, feeder model and length used by the passive antenna.

[0047] Optionally, the virtual PCI information may represent an identifier of a cell corresponding to the passive antenna, and the virtual TRP information may represent location information of the passive antenna in the cell.

[0048] Optionally, the identification information may be obtained by the BBU's information processing module or stored in the BBU's information storage module. For example, the BBU obtains the longitude and latitude coordinates of any passive antenna and generates coordinate information of the passive antenna based on the longitude and latitude coordinates of the passive antenna. This coordinate information may be generated by the information processing module and stored in the information storage module.

[0049] Optionally, the BBU may classify the passive antennas into passive antenna 1, passive antenna 2, ..., passive antenna n, and may generate identification information for each passive antenna: passive antenna 1, passive antenna 2, ..., passive antenna n. For example, the BBU may use the information processing module to generate virtual PCI information for passive antenna 1, virtual PCI information for passive antenna 2, ..., passive antenna n, where n is a natural number and each virtual PCI information may correspond to a passive antenna. The BBU may determine that passive antenna 1 is receiving terminal measurement information and may upload the terminal measurement information and the virtual PCI information corresponding to passive antenna 1 to the LMF. For another example, the BBU may use the information processing module to generate virtual TRP information for passive antenna 1, virtual TRP information for passive antenna 2, ..., passive antenna n, where n is a natural number. The BBU may determine that passive antenna 1 is receiving terminal measurement information and may upload the terminal measurement information and the virtual TRP information corresponding to passive antenna 1 to the LMF. The LMF can identify the passive antenna 1 through identification information such as the PCI or TRP of the passive antenna 1 .

[0050] Optionally, step 101 may be performed by a BBU in the base station, a storage module or a processing module in the BBU.

[0051] Step 102: Determine a first passive antenna according to an antenna port receiving terminal measurement information, where the first passive antenna is used to determine identification information of the first passive antenna.

[0052] Optionally, before step 102, the BBU may obtain a configuration identifier of the passive antenna. This configuration information may be generated by the BBU for a passive antenna connected to an RRU, and the same configuration identifier may be generated for multiple passive antennas corresponding to each RRU. The configuration identifier includes the PCI information, TRP information, or channel delay information of the passive antenna. The configuration identifier may be an identifier of the passive antenna generated by the BBU itself, or an identifier of a configured antenna obtained by the BBU. This application does not limit the specific source of the configuration identifier of the passive antenna. For example, as shown in Figure 1, before the BBU generates the identification information of the passive antenna through the information processing module, the BBU generates the same PCI information based on the passive antenna. Each passive antenna corresponds to an RRU, so each passive antenna has the same PCI information.

[0053] Optionally, when receiving terminal measurement information, the BBU may determine that the passive antenna receiving the information is the first passive antenna. For example, before obtaining the terminal measurement information, the BBU may determine the PCI of passive antenna 1, the PCI of passive antenna 2, ..., or the PCI of passive antenna n. The PCIs of passive antenna 1, passive antenna 2, ..., and passive antenna n are all the same. For ease of distinction, below, passive antenna 1 is referred to as the passive antenna receiving terminal measurement information, and passive antenna 1 is referred to as the first passive antenna. The first passive antenna may also be referred to as the serving antenna. It is understood that the first passive antenna could also be passive antenna 2, ..., or passive antenna n.

[0054] Optionally, the BBU may obtain a first passive antenna and determine the identification information of the first passive antenna. The BBU may replace the obtained configuration identification of the first passive antenna with the virtual identification information of the first passive antenna. For example, the BBU may obtain the same PCI information for passive antenna 1, passive antenna 2, ..., and passive antenna n. The BBU replaces the PCI information of passive antenna 1, passive antenna 2, ..., and passive antenna n with PCI1 of passive antenna 1, PCI2 of passive antenna 2, ..., and PCIn of passive antenna n, respectively. PCI1, PCI2, ..., PCIn are all virtual PCI information. Therefore, in subsequent steps, the positioning solution unit (such as the LMF) can determine the specific passive antenna that received the terminal measurement information based on the received PCI1, PCI2, ..., PCIn, thereby improving the positioning accuracy of the base station. Similarly, the BBU can also replace the TRP information of the passive antenna with virtual TRP information and send the virtual TRP information of the passive antenna to the LMF, allowing the LMF to determine the specific passive antenna that received the terminal measurement information.

[0055] Optionally, the terminal may send terminal measurement information in an uplink direction, where the information includes a terminal positioning reference signal (UE-LMF sounding reference signal, UL-SRS).

[0056] Optionally, the BBU can receive the UL-SRS signal through passive antenna 1 and use the UL-SRS signal to estimate the uplink channel quality over a wider bandwidth. The BBU can determine that the antenna port receiving the signal corresponds to the antenna port of passive antenna 1 and use passive antenna 1 as the first passive antenna.

[0057] Optionally, the BBU may replace the PCI of the passive antenna 1 with the virtual PCI information of the passive antenna 1 , so that the PCI information of the replaced passive antenna 1 corresponds one-to-one to the passive antenna 1 .

[0058] Optionally, after determining the first passive antenna, the BBU may obtain the identification information of the first passive antenna as the channel delay from the passive antenna to the BBU. Because the channel delay of the passive antenna obtained by the BBU may differ from the channel delay stored by the BBU, time synchronization between the BBU and the passive antenna may occur. The BBU may replace the channel delay of the passive antenna with the generated or stored virtual channel delay of the passive antenna, thereby correcting the channel delay of the passive antenna. For example, the BBU may generate a virtual channel delay corresponding to passive antenna 1, which reflects the channel delay data corresponding to passive antenna 1. Based on the terminal measurement information received by passive antenna 1, the BBU uses the time of receiving the terminal measurement information as the current time to obtain the channel delay of passive antenna 1 at the current time. The BBU may replace the channel delay of passive antenna 1 with the virtual channel delay of passive antenna 1 generated by the BBU.

[0059] Optionally, the BBU may use the virtual PCI information or virtual TRP information of the first passive antenna as identification information of the first passive antenna. The base station may correct the terminal measurement information according to the virtual channel delay from the first passive antenna to the base station, and determine the corrected terminal measurement information.

[0060] Optionally, step 102 may be performed by a BBU in the base station, a storage module or a processing module in the BBU.

[0061] Step 103: Send identification information of the first passive antenna and corrected terminal measurement information, where the corrected terminal measurement information is determined based on the identification information of the first passive antenna.

[0062] Optionally, the base station may send the identification information of the first passive antenna and the corrected terminal measurement information. For example, the BBU may send the identification information of the passive antenna 1 and the corrected terminal measurement information to the LMF.

[0063] Optionally, the following uses the 5G-UTDOA positioning request process as an example to illustrate the base station positioning process involved in this application. As shown in Figure 3, the specific steps of the process are as follows:

[0064] Among them, step 101 corresponds to step 1, step 102 corresponds to steps 2 to 8, and step 103 corresponds to steps 9 to 10.

[0065] Step 1: Generate passive antenna identification information. This information includes the passive antenna's coordinates, corresponding antenna port information, virtual PCI and virtual TRP, and the path delay from the passive antenna to the BBU. The virtual PCI serves only as a positioning solution identifier and does not participate in air interface resource allocation. The path delay from the passive antenna to the BBU can be measured or estimated based on the frequency band, feeder type, and length used by the passive antenna.

[0066] Optionally, step 101 corresponds to step 1.

[0067] Step 2: The LPP capability transfer process requests the terminal's positioning capability;

[0068] Step 3: The LMF sends an NR Positioning Protocol A (NRPPa) positioning information request message to the gNB (next generation NodeB, i.e., 5G base station, including the BBU of this application) or the serving gNB or TRP in the TRP to request the UL-SRS configuration information of the terminal. The gNB or TRP can be represented by "gNB / TRP". The serving gNB or TRP includes the first passive antenna.

[0069] Step 4: The serving gNB receives the NRPPa positioning information request message, determines the SRS resources, and configures UL-SRS resources for the terminal.

[0070] Step 5: The serving gNB sends an NRPPa Positioning Information Response message including UL-SRS resource information to the LMF;

[0071] Step 6a: The LMF sends an NRPPa Positioning Activation Request message to the serving gNB to request UE SRS signal activation;

[0072] Step 6b: The terminal performs UL-SRS transmission according to the configuration and sends a UL-SRS signal;

[0073] Step 6c: The serving gNB activates UL-SRS transmission and sends an NRPPa Positioning Activation Response message to the LMF;

[0074] Step 7: The LMF sends an NRPPa measurement request message to the neighboring gNB / TRP in the gNB / TRP to trigger multiple gNBs / TRPs to perform UL-SRS measurement. UL-SRS is the terminal measurement information. The neighboring gNB / TRPs include gNB1 / TRP1, gNB2 / TRP2, or gNB3 / TRP3.

[0075] Step 8: Each gNB / TRP (e.g., gNB1 / TRP1, gNB2 / TRP2, and gNB3 / TRP3) determines the passive antenna source of the terminal measurement information based on the antenna port to which the passive antenna is connected. The base station obtains the PCI and TRP of the passive antenna receiving the terminal measurement information, replaces the PCI and TRP of the passive antenna with the virtual PCI and virtual TRP in the passive antenna's identification information, and corrects the UL-TROA information measured by the antenna based on the path delay from the passive antenna to the BBU in the passive antenna information. UL-TROA is the terminal measurement information. Each gNB / TRP can replace the original PCI and TRP of the passive antenna through the information processing module and send the replaced virtual PCI and virtual TRP of the passive antenna to the LMF.

[0076] Steps 2 to 8 correspond to step 102 of this application.

[0077] Step 9: Each gNB / TRP sends an NRPPa measurement response message containing the corresponding UL-SRS measurement to the LMF;

[0078] Step 10: After positioning is completed, the LMF sends an NRPPa positioning stop message to the serving gNB to end measurement reporting.

[0079] Steps 9 to 10 correspond to step 103 of this application.
