The seat 2 includes a seat cushion 21 and a seat back 22. The seat back 22 is provided with a headrest 23, but the headrest 23 is not essential. The seat 2 according to the embodiment is reclining, and can be tilted toward the front of the vehicle so that the seat back 22 overlaps the seat cushion 21 to expand the luggage compartment, but is not limited to this.
[0031] The seat belt 3 according to the embodiment is a three-point seat belt configured to restrain the body of an occupant in the seat 2 in the event of a vehicle collision. The seat belt 3 according to the embodiment includes a tongue plate 31, a webbing 33 to which the tongue plate 31 is attached, and a seat buckle 34 that is provided on the inner side of the seat cushion 21 in the vehicle width direction and to which the tongue plate 31 is fixed. The tongue plate 31 is provided with a hole 32 through which the webbing 33 is inserted, as well as a rectangular hole 35 through which the tongue plate 31 is fixed to the seat buckle 34. As shown in FIG. 2 , one end of the webbing 33 inserted through the hole 32 provided in the tongue plate 31 is fixed to the vehicle body, and the other end is taken up by a retractor 36 that is also fixed to the vehicle body. The webbing 33 according to the embodiment has one end fixed to the vehicle body on the outer side of the seat cushion 21 in the vehicle width direction, and the other end taken up by the retractor 36 that is fixed to the rear of the seat back 22 in the vehicle front-rear direction and on the outer side in the vehicle width direction, but is not limited thereto. The webbing 33 is provided with a tongue stopper (not shown) that restricts movement of the tongue plate 31 toward one end (fixed end) of the webbing 33 .
[0032] [Stored state of seat belt] As shown in FIG. 1 , in the stored state of the seat belt 3, the webbing 33 is stretched across the seat back 22 on the outer side in the vehicle width direction, and the tongue plate 31 is restricted from moving toward the fixed end of the webbing 33 by a tongue stopper provided on the webbing 33, and is disposed at a position (lower region) below the center of the seat back 22 in the height direction.
[0033] [Seat Belt Use State] When the seat belt 3 is shifted from the stored state to the used state, the tongue plate 31 is pulled out from the outer lower region of the seat back 22 in the vehicle width direction toward the inner side of the seat cushion 21 in the vehicle width direction, and the tongue plate 31 is fixed to a seat buckle 34 provided on the inner side of the seat cushion 21 in the vehicle width direction. As a result, the webbing 33 passes from the fixed end to the base of the thighs of an occupant seated in the seat 2, passes through the occupant's shoulders, and is wound up by the retractor 36, so that the occupant's body is restrained in the seat 2 in the event of a vehicle collision.
[0034] [Details of Occupant Safety Device] Fig. 3-1 is a view from the front to the rear in the vehicle longitudinal direction of the webbing 33 that is stretched across the outer side of the seat back 22 in the vehicle width direction, the tongue stopper 37 that is provided on the webbing 33, and the strap 4 that fastens the webbing 33. Fig. 3-2 is a view from the front to the rear in the vehicle longitudinal direction of the webbing 33 that is stretched across the outer side of the seat back 22 in the vehicle width direction, the tongue plate 31 that is restricted by the tongue stopper 37, and the strap 4 that fastens the webbing 33.
[0035] As shown in Figures 3-1 and 3-2, the occupant safety device 1 according to the embodiment includes a strap 4 that fastens a webbing 33 that is stretched across the outer side of the seat back 22 in the vehicle width direction when the seat belt 3 is stored.
[0036] The seat back 22 according to the embodiment has a recess 24 formed in a lower portion on the outer side in the vehicle width direction, extending from the front to the rear in the vehicle longitudinal direction. The outer side in the vehicle width direction is located outside the center of the seat back 22 in the vehicle width direction, and the lower portion is located below the center of the seat back 22 in the height direction. The recess 24 is a rectangular recess when viewed from the front to the rear in the vehicle longitudinal direction. For example, the recess 24 may be open to the outer side in the vehicle width direction, or may penetrate from the front to the rear in the vehicle longitudinal direction. The seat back 22 shown in FIGS. 3-1 and 3-2 is formed with a recess 24 that is open on the lower side in the height direction and on the outer side in the vehicle width direction of the seat back 22 and penetrates from the front to the rear in the vehicle longitudinal direction, and a support portion 25 for the seat back 22 is provided in the recess 24.
[0037] [Details of Strap 4] Figure 4 is a diagram showing details of the strap 4 that fastens the webbing 33. As shown in Figure 4, the strap 4 according to this embodiment has one longitudinal end 41 fixed to the inner wall surface 26 of the recess 24, and the other longitudinal end 42 removably attached to the one longitudinal end 41 with the webbing 33 fastened inside. The inner wall surface 26 of the recess 24 includes not only the top wall surface (ceiling surface) 27 or the side surface 28 of the recess 24, but also the front surface (bottom surface) if the recess 24 is recessed from the front to the rear in the vehicle longitudinal direction. The one longitudinal end 41 of the strap 4 is fixed to the inner wall surface 26 of the recess 24 together with a fastener 43 that removably attaches the other longitudinal end 42 of the strap 4. The fastener 43 is, for example, a hook-and-loop fastener 44, 45. One 44 of the hook-and-loop fasteners 44, 45 is sewn together with one end 41 of the strap 4 to the surface that forms the inner wall surface 26 of the recess 24, thereby fixing one end 41 of the strap 4 to the inner wall surface 26 of the recess 24, and the other 45 of the hook-and-loop fasteners 44, 45 is sewn to the other longitudinal end 42 of the strap 4, thereby detachably attaching the other longitudinal end 42 of the strap 4 to the one longitudinal end 41 of the strap 4. The attachment 43 is not limited to the hook-and-loop fasteners 44, 45, but may be a fastener such as a hook.
[0038] One longitudinal end 41 of the strap 4 according to the embodiment is fixed, for example, to the front side of the recess 24 in the vehicle longitudinal direction. The front side of the recess 24 in the vehicle longitudinal direction is forward of the center of the vehicle in the vehicle longitudinal direction, and if more than half of one longitudinal end 41 of the strap 4 is forward of the center of the vehicle in the vehicle longitudinal direction, the strap 4 is fixed to the front side of the recess 24 in the vehicle longitudinal direction.
[0039] The strap 4 according to the embodiment is, for example, tape-shaped, and one end 41 in the length direction thereof is fixed to the upper wall surface 27 of the recess 24. As a result, the other end 42 in the length direction of the strap 4 attached to the one end 41 in the length direction of the strap 4 is also detachably attached to the upper wall surface 27 of the recess 24.
[0040] In the strap 4 according to the embodiment, for example, when one end 41 of the strap 4 in the longitudinal direction is fixed to the inner side of the recess 24 in the vehicle width direction and the other end 42 of the strap 4 is detachably attached to the one end 41 of the strap 4 in the longitudinal direction, an intermediate portion 46 between the one end 41 of the strap 4 and the other end 42 of the strap 4 is positioned outward in the vehicle width direction from the one end 41 of the strap 4 and the other end 42 of the strap 4. The intermediate portion 46 between the one end 41 of the strap 4 and the other end 42 of the strap 4 is a folded-back portion of the strap 4, and is positioned outward in the vehicle width direction from the one end 41 of the strap 4 and the other end 42 of the strap 4. As a result of the pulling-out operation of the seat belt 3, the webbing 33 detaches the other end 42 attached to the one end 41 of the strap 4.
[0041] The strap 4 according to the embodiment has a fixing portion 47 fixed to the inner wall surface 26 of the recess 24, for example, between one longitudinal end portion 41 and an intermediate portion 46 of the strap 4. The fixing portion 47 is formed, for example, by sewing the strap 4 to an outer skin that forms the inner wall surface of the recess 24, between one longitudinal end portion 41 and an intermediate portion 46 of the strap 4.
[0042] The fixing portion 47 according to the embodiment is provided, for example, in a central portion between one end portion 41 in the length direction and the intermediate portion 46 of the strap 4. The central portion is, for example, a position that overlaps with the webbing 33 fastened by the strap 4 in the front-to-rear direction of the vehicle, and is not limited to the central portion between one end portion 41 in the length direction and the intermediate portion 46 of the strap 4.
[0043] As shown in FIG. 3-1, in the tongue stopper 37 of this embodiment, when the seat belt 3 is stored, the tongue plate 31 is positioned higher in the height direction of the seat back 22 than the recess 24, and when the tongue plate 31 is viewed from the front to the rear of the vehicle, at least a portion of the strap 4 is positioned behind the tongue plate 31 in the fore-and-aft direction of the vehicle.
[0044] [Details of the Stored State of the Seat Belt] When the seat belt 3 is in the stored state, the webbing 33 that is stretched across the outer side of the seat back 22 in the vehicle width direction is fastened to the strap 4, and movement in the vehicle width direction is restricted. Specifically, the webbing 33 is restrained between one end 41 and the other end 42 in the length direction of the strap 4, and movement in the vehicle width direction is restricted. As a result, as shown in FIG. 3-2 , movement in the vehicle width direction of the tongue plate 31, through which the webbing 33 is inserted into the hole 32, is also restricted, and it is possible to prevent the tongue plate 31 from colliding with the trim (vehicle interior).
[0045] [Movement of Strap Associated with Seatbelt Unwinding Movement] Fig. 5-1 is a diagram showing a state in which the intermediate portion 46 of the strap 4 has been raised from the surface of the seat back 22 by the webbing 33. Fig. 5-2 is a diagram showing a state in which the other end 42 of the strap 4 has begun to detach from the one end 41 by the webbing 33, and Fig. 5-3 is a diagram showing a state in which the webbing 33 has detached from the strap 4.
[0046] As shown in Figure 4, when the webbing 33 is fastened by the strap 4, movement of the webbing 33 in the vehicle width direction is restricted, and movement of the tongue plate 31, through which the webbing 33 is inserted into the hole, in the vehicle width direction is also restricted. When an occupant seated in the seat 2 holds the tongue plate 31 and pulls out the seat belt 3 (webbing 33), the webbing 33 causes a longitudinal intermediate portion 46 of the strap 4 to rise from the surface of the seat back 22, as shown in Figure 5-1. When the webbing 33 is further pulled out, the webbing 33 begins to detach the other longitudinal end 42 of the strap 4 from the one end 41, as shown in Figure 5-2, and eventually the webbing 33 is released from the strap 4, as shown in Figure 5-3. This allows the webbing 33 to be freely pulled out. When the tongue plate 31 is fixed to the seat buckle 34, the webbing 33 passes from the fixed end to the base of the thighs of the occupant seated in the seat 2, passes over the occupant's shoulders, and is wound up by the retractor 36, and the seat belt 3 is put into use.
[0047] [Effects of occupant safety device] According to the occupant safety device 1 of the embodiment, one longitudinal end 41 of the strap 4 is fixed to the inner wall surface 26 of the recess 24 provided in the seat back 22, and with the webbing 33 fastened inside, the other longitudinal end 42 of the strap 4 is detachably attached to the one longitudinal end 41 of the strap 4, so that when the seat belt 3 is stowed, the webbing 33 stretched across the outer side of the seat back 22 in the vehicle width direction can be fastened in an attractive manner.
[0048] For example, if one longitudinal end 41 of the strap 4 is fixed to the front side of the recess 24 provided in the seat back 22 in the fore-and-aft direction of the vehicle, when the seat belt 3 is stored, the strap 4 will not pull the webbing 33, which is stretched across the outer side of the seat back 22 in the vehicle width direction, rearward in the fore-and-aft direction of the vehicle, and the webbing 33 can be fastened in an attractive manner.
[0049] For example, if the strap 4 is tape-shaped and one longitudinal end 41 of the strap 4 is fixed to the upper wall surface 27 of a recess 24 provided in the seat back 22, at least the one longitudinal end 41 of the strap 4 and the other end 42 attached to the one end 41 are hidden by the recess 24, so that when the seat belt 3 is stored, the strap 4 can attractively fasten the webbing 33 that is stretched across the outer side of the seat back 22 in the vehicle width direction.
[0050] For example, in the case where one longitudinal end 41 of the strap 4 is fixed to the inner side in the vehicle width direction of the recess 24 provided in the seat back 22, the other longitudinal end 42 of the strap is attached to the one longitudinal end 41 of the strap 4, and an intermediate portion 46 between the one longitudinal end 41 and the other longitudinal end 42 of the strap 4 is positioned outward in the vehicle width direction from the one longitudinal end 41 of the strap 4 and the other longitudinal end 42 of the strap 4 attached to the one end 41, the webbing 33 detaches the other end 42 attached to the one end 41 of the strap 4 by pulling out the seat belt 3, so there is no need to detach the other end 42 attached to the one end 41 of the strap 4 by a separate operation. This simplifies the operation of fastening the seat belt 3.
[0051] For example, if the strap 4 has a fixing portion 47 fixed to the inner wall surface 26 of the recess 24 provided in the seat back 22 between one longitudinal end 41 and an intermediate portion 46 of the strap 4, the other end 42 of the webbing 33 attached to the one end 41 of the strap 4 can be easily detached. This allows the seat belt 3 to be smoothly withdrawn.
[0052] For example, if the fixing portion 47 is provided in the center between the one end 41 in the length direction of the strap 4 and the intermediate portion 46, the other end 42 of the webbing 33 attached to the one end 41 of the strap 4 can be more easily detached. This makes it easier to pull out the seat belt 3.
[0053] For example, when the seat belt 3 is stored, the tongue stopper 37 positions the tongue plate 31 at a position higher in the height direction of the seat back 22 than the recess 24, and when the tongue plate 31 is viewed from the front to the rear in the vehicle longitudinal direction, if at least a part of the strap 4 is positioned rearward of the tongue plate 31 in the vehicle longitudinal direction, at least a part of the strap 4 is hidden by the tongue plate 31, so that when the seat belt 3 is stored, the webbing 33 that is stretched across the outer side of the seat back 22 in the vehicle width direction can be fastened in an attractive manner.
[0054] The present invention is not limited to the above-described embodiments, but also includes modifications to the above-described embodiments and appropriate combinations of these modifications.
