Abstract
Description
METHOD AND DEVICE FOR DETERMINING RESOURCES FOR SIDELINK TRANSMISSION
[0001] The present application relates to the technical field of wireless communication, and in particular to a method for Sidelink (SL) communication based positioning and a device thereof in a wireless system in the fifth generation new radio access technology (5G NR) system.
[0002] 5G mobile communication technologies define broad frequency bands such that high transmission rates and new services are possible, and can be implemented not only in "Sub 6GHz" bands such as 3.5GHz, but also in "Above 6GHz" bands referred to as mmWave including 28GHz and 39GHz. In addition, it has been considered to implement 6G mobile communication technologies (referred to as Beyond 5G systems) in terahertz bands (for example, 95GHz to 3THz bands) in order to accomplish transmission rates fifty times faster than 5G mobile communication technologies and ultra-low latencies one-tenth of 5G mobile communication technologies.
[0003] At the beginning of the development of 5G mobile communication technologies, in order to support services and to satisfy performance requirements in connection with enhanced Mobile BroadBand (eMBB), Ultra Reliable Low Latency Communications (URLLC), and massive Machine-Type Communications (mMTC), there has been ongoing standardization regarding beamforming and massive MIMO for mitigating radio-wave path loss and increasing radio-wave transmission distances in mmWave, supporting numerologies (for example, operating multiple subcarrier spacings) for efficiently utilizing mmWave resources and dynamic operation of slot formats, initial access technologies for supporting multi-beam transmission and broadbands, definition and operation of BWP (BandWidth Part), new channel coding methods such as a LDPC (Low Density Parity Check) code for large amount of data transmission and a polar code for highly reliable transmission of control information, L2 pre-processing, and network slicing for providing a dedicated network specialized to a specific service.
[0004] Currently, there are ongoing discussions regarding improvement and performance enhancement of initial 5G mobile communication technologies in view of services to be supported by 5G mobile communication technologies, and there has been physical layer standardization regarding technologies such as V2X (Vehicle-to-everything) for aiding driving determination by autonomous vehicles based on information regarding positions and states of vehicles transmitted by the vehicles and for enhancing user convenience, NR-U (New Radio Unlicensed) aimed at system operations conforming to various regulation-related requirements in unlicensed bands, NR UE Power Saving, Non-Terrestrial Network (NTN) which is UE-satellite direct communication for providing coverage in an area in which communication with terrestrial networks is unavailable, and positioning.
[0005] Moreover, there has been ongoing standardization in air interface architecture / protocol regarding technologies such as Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) for supporting new services through interworking and convergence with other industries, IAB (Integrated Access and Backhaul) for providing a node for network service area expansion by supporting a wireless backhaul link and an access link in an integrated manner, mobility enhancement including conditional handover and DAPS (Dual Active Protocol Stack) handover, and two-step random access for simplifying random access procedures (2-step RACH for NR). There also has been ongoing standardization in system architecture / service regarding a 5G baseline architecture (for example, service based architecture or service based interface) for combining Network Functions Virtualization (NFV) and Software-Defined Networking (SDN) technologies, and Mobile Edge Computing (MEC) for receiving services based on UE positions.
[0006] As 5G mobile communication systems are commercialized, connected devices that have been exponentially increasing will be connected to communication networks, and it is accordingly expected that enhanced functions and performances of 5G mobile communication systems and integrated operations of connected devices will be necessary. To this end, new research is scheduled in connection with eXtended Reality (XR) for efficiently supporting AR (Augmented Reality), VR (Virtual Reality), MR (Mixed Reality) and the like, 5G performance improvement and complexity reduction by utilizing Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML), AI service support, metaverse service support, and drone communication.
[0007] Furthermore, such development of 5G mobile communication systems will serve as a basis for developing not only new waveforms for providing coverage in terahertz bands of 6G mobile communication technologies, multi-antenna transmission technologies such as Full Dimensional MIMO (FD-MIMO), array antennas and large-scale antennas, metamaterial-based lenses and antennas for improving coverage of terahertz band signals, high-dimensional space multiplexing technology using OAM (Orbital Angular Momentum), and RIS (Reconfigurable Intelligent Surface), but also full-duplex technology for increasing frequency efficiency of 6G mobile communication technologies and improving system networks, AI-based communication technology for implementing system optimization by utilizing satellites and AI (Artificial Intelligence) from the design stage and internalizing end-to-end AI support functions, and next-generation distributed computing technology for implementing services at levels of complexity exceeding the limit of UE operation capability by utilizing ultra-high-performance communication and computing resources.
[0008] In the Long Term Evolution (LTE) technology, sidelink communication includes two main mechanisms, which are Device to Device (D2D) direct communication and Vehicle to everything (Vehicle to Vehicle / Infrastructure / Pedestrian / Network, V2X), among which V2X is designed on the basis of D2D technology, which is superior to D2D in data rate, delay, reliability and link capacity, and is the most representative sidelink communication technology in LTE technology.
[0009] As the evolution technology of LTE, the 5G NR system also includes the further evolution of sidelink communication. As the evolution version of LTE V2X technology, NR V2X technology is formulated in version 16, and its performance in all aspects is superior. In Release 17, the 5G NR system is expected to further extend the application scenarios of NR V2X to other wider application scenarios, such as commercial sidelink communication and Public Safety (PS) scenarios. In Release 18, 5G NR SL will further introduce the evolution corresponding to other scenarios and applications, such as SL technology in high frequency (FR2), unlicensed frequency band, and SL technology corresponding to specific applications such as positioning.
[0010] In a sidelink system for communication, a time-frequency resource unit can be used for a transmission but cannot be used for multiple transmissions (if it is detected that multiple transmissions occupy a same time-frequency resource, it is considered that a collision has occurred on the resource) with slot and sub-channel as a unit of sidelink resource allocation, and multiplexing multiple transmissions on the same slot and sub-channel is not supported.
[0011] In the sidelink system for positioning, since the positioning reference signal often needs to occupy a bandwidth much wider than that of general sidelink data to ensure measurement accuracy, and the signal mapping of the positioning reference signal on the occupied bandwidth is often not like the mapping of data onto each resource element RE within the bandwidth range, but onto a portion of the RE within the bandwidth range according to a predetermined resource pattern, and thus, the utilization efficiency of the air interface resource is extremely low and the bandwidth of the sidelink system is highly demanded if a similar resource allocation approach as in the sidelink system for communication is adopted. To solve this problem, an approach is to introduce a technique of multiplexing multiple sidelink positioning reference signals on a same slot, feasible multiplexing includes time division multiplexing, TDM, and comb-based multiplexing, wherein comb-based multiplexing refers to multiple sidelink positioning reference signals, SL PRS, multiplexed on the same slot and the RE-level resource patterns used by different SL PRS are mutually orthogonal or non-overlapping; through the multiplexing described above, the number of SL PRS that can be accommodated in one slot can be increased several times without affecting the reliability of the system, thereby improving the air interface efficiency and mitigating the occupation of resources, particularly the frequency domain bandwidth, by the sidelink positioning system.
[0012] Therefore, there is a need to design a physical layer structure that supports multiplexing of multiple SL PRS resources on the same slot. Such resource multiplexing is not involved in the conventional method, and it is limited that the transmission power of the transmitting UE in one slot needs to be kept uniform, so that the receiving UE only needs to perform automatic gain control, AGC, on a first symbol of each slot to adjust the reception power range to receive in the whole slot. However, in the case of multiplexing multiple SL PRSs, since different PRS resources in the same slot may be selected as transmission resources by different UEs, the transmission power thereof may be different, and the receiving UE needs to deal with the problem that the received signal strength varies in the same slot. Accordingly, it is necessary to design a suitable resource position in the physical layer structure for the receiving UE to perform AGC.

[0059] FIGs. 2a and 2b illustrate example wireless transmission and reception paths according to the present disclosure. In the following description, the transmission path 200 can be described as being implemented in a gNB, such as gNB 102, and the reception path 250 can be described as being implemented in a UE, such as UE 116. However, it should be understood that the reception path 250 can be implemented in a gNB and the transmission path 200 can be implemented in a UE. In some embodiments, the reception path 250 is configured to support codebook designs and structures for systems with 2D antenna arrays as described in embodiments of the present disclosure.
[0060] The transmission path 200 includes a channel coding and modulation block 205, a Serial-to-Parallel (S-to-P) block 210, a size N Inverse Fast Fourier Transform (IFFT) block 215, a Parallel-to-Serial (P-to-S) block 220, a cyclic prefix addition block 225, and an up-converter (UC) 230. The reception path 250 includes a down-converter (DC) 255, a cyclic prefix removal block 260, a Serial-to-Parallel (S-to-P) block 265, a size N Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) block 270, a Parallel-to-Serial (P-to-S) block 275, and a channel decoding and demodulation block 280.
[0061] In the transmission path 200, the channel coding and modulation block 205 receives a set of information bits, applies coding (such as Low Density Parity Check (LDPC) coding), and modulates the input bits (such as using Quadrature Phase Shift Keying (QPSK) or Quadrature Amplitude Modulation (QAM)) to generate a sequence of frequency-domain modulated symbols. The Serial-to-Parallel (S-to-P) block 210 converts (such as demultiplexes) serial modulated symbols into parallel data to generate N parallel symbol streams, where N is a size of the IFFT / FFT used in gNB 102 and UE 116. The size N IFFT block 215 performs IFFT operations on the N parallel symbol streams to generate a time-domain output signal. The Parallel-to-Serial block 220 converts (such as multiplexes) parallel time-domain output symbols from the Size N IFFT block 215 to generate a serial time-domain signal. The cyclic prefix addition block 225 inserts a cyclic prefix into the time-domain signal. The up-converter 230 modulates (such as up-converts) the output of the cyclic prefix addition block 225 to an RF frequency for transmission via a wireless channel. The signal can also be filtered at a baseband before switching to the RF frequency.
[0062] The RF signal transmitted from gNB 102 arrives at UE 116 after passing through the wireless channel, and operations in reverse to those at gNB 102 are performed at UE 116. The down-converter 255 down-converts the received signal to a baseband frequency, and the cyclic prefix removal block 260 removes the cyclic prefix to generate a serial time-domain baseband signal. The Serial-to-Parallel block 265 converts the time-domain baseband signal into a parallel time-domain signal. The Size N FFT block 270 performs an FFT algorithm to generate N parallel frequency-domain signals. The Parallel-to-Serial block 275 converts the parallel frequency-domain signal into a sequence of modulated data symbols. The channel decoding and demodulation block 280 demodulates and decodes the modulated symbols to recover the original input data stream.
[0063] Each of gNBs 101-103 may implement a transmission path 200 similar to that for transmitting to UEs 111-116 in the downlink, and may implement a reception path 250 similar to that for receiving from UEs 111-116 in the uplink. Similarly, each of UEs 111-116 may implement a transmission path 200 for transmitting to gNBs 101-103 in the uplink, and may implement a reception path 250 for receiving from gNBs 101-103 in the downlink.
[0064] Each of the components in FIGs. 2a and 2b can be implemented using only hardware, or using a combination of hardware and software / firmware. As a specific example, at least some of the components in FIGs. 2a and 2b may be implemented in software, while other components may be implemented in configurable hardware or a combination of software and configurable hardware. For example, the FFT block 270 and IFFT block 215 may be implemented as configurable software algorithms, in which the value of the size N may be modified according to the implementation.
[0065] Furthermore, although described as using FFT and IFFT, this is only illustrative and should not be interpreted as limiting the scope of the present disclosure. Other types of transforms can be used, such as Discrete Fourier transform (DFT) and Inverse Discrete Fourier Transform (IDFT) functions. It should be understood that for DFT and IDFT functions, the value of variable N may be any integer (such as 1, 2, 3, 4, etc.), while for FFT and IFFT functions, the value of variable N may be any integer which is a power of 2 (such as 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, etc.).
[0066] Although FIGs. 2a and 2b illustrate examples of wireless transmission and reception paths, various changes may be made to FIGs. 2a and 2b. For example, various components in FIGs. 2a and 2b can be combined, further subdivided or omitted, and additional components can be added according to specific requirements. Furthermore, FIGs. 2a and 2b are intended to illustrate examples of types of transmission and reception paths that can be used in a wireless network. Any other suitable architecture can be used to support wireless communication in a wireless network.
[0067] FIG. 3a illustrates an example UE 116 according to the present disclosure. The embodiment of UE 116 shown in FIG. 3a is for illustration only, and UEs 111-115 of FIG. 1 can have the same or similar configuration. However, a UE has various configurations, and FIG. 3a does not limit the scope of the present disclosure to any specific implementation of the UE.
[0068] UE 116 includes an antenna 305, a radio frequency (RF) transceiver 310, a transmission (TX) processing circuit 315, a microphone 320, and a reception (RX) processing circuit 325. UE 116 also includes a speaker 330, a processor / controller 340, an input / output (I / O) interface 345, an input device(s) 350, a display 355, and a memory 360. The memory 360 includes an operating system (OS) 361 and one or more applications 362.
[0069] The RF transceiver 310 receives an incoming RF signal transmitted by a gNB of the wireless network 100 from the antenna 305. The RF transceiver 310 down-converts the incoming RF signal to generate an intermediate frequency (IF) or baseband signal. The IF or baseband signal is transmitted to the RX processing circuit 325, where the RX processing circuit 325 generates a processed baseband signal by filtering, decoding and / or digitizing the baseband or IF signal. The RX processing circuit 325 transmits the processed baseband signal to speaker 330 (such as for voice data) or to processor / controller 340 for further processing (such as for web browsing data).
[0070] The TX processing circuit 315 receives analog or digital voice data from microphone 320 or other outgoing baseband data (such as network data, email or interactive video game data) from processor / controller 340. The TX processing circuit 315 encodes, multiplexes, and / or digitizes the outgoing baseband data to generate a processed baseband or IF signal. The RF transceiver 310 receives the outgoing processed baseband or IF signal from the TX processing circuit 315 and up-converts the baseband or IF signal into an RF signal transmitted via the antenna 305.
[0071] The processor / controller 340 can include one or more processors or other processing devices and execute an OS 361 stored in the memory 360 in order to control the overall operation of UE 116. For example, the processor / controller 340 can control the reception of forward channel signals and the transmission of backward channel signals through the RF transceiver 310, the RX processing circuit 325 and the TX processing circuit 315 according to well-known principles. In some embodiments, the processor / controller 340 includes at least one microprocessor or microcontroller.
[0072] The processor / controller 340 is also capable of executing other processes and programs residing in the memory 360, such as operations for channel quality measurement and reporting for systems with 2D antenna arrays as described in embodiments of the present disclosure. The processor / controller 340 can move data into or out of the memory 360 as required by an execution process. In some embodiments, the processor / controller 340 is configured to execute the application 362 based on the OS 361 or in response to signals received from the gNB or the operator. The processor / controller 340 is also coupled to an I / O interface 345, where the I / O interface 345 provides UE 116 with the ability to connect to other devices such as laptop computers and handheld computers. I / O interface 345 is a communication path between these accessories and the processor / controller 340.
[0073] The processor / controller 340 is also coupled to the input device(s) 350 and the display 355. An operator of UE 116 can input data into UE 116 using the input device(s) 350. The display 355 may be a liquid crystal display or other display capable of presenting text and / or at least limited graphics (such as from a website). The memory 360 is coupled to the processor / controller 340. A part of the memory 360 can include a random access memory (RAM), while another part of the memory 360 can include a flash memory or other read-only memory (ROM).
[0074] Although FIG. 3a illustrates an example of UE 116, various changes can be made to FIG. 3a. For example, various components in FIG. 3a can be combined, further subdivided or omitted, and additional components can be added according to specific requirements. As a specific example, the processor / controller 340 can be divided into a plurality of processors, such as one or more central processing units (CPUs) and one or more graphics processing units (GPUs). Furthermore, although FIG. 3a illustrates that the UE 116 is configured as a mobile phone or a smart phone, UEs can be configured to operate as other types of mobile or fixed devices.
[0075] FIG. 3b illustrates an example gNB 102 according to the present disclosure. The embodiment of gNB 102 shown in FIG. 3b is for illustration only, and other gNBs of FIG. 1 can have the same or similar configuration. However, a gNB has various configurations, and FIG. 3b does not limit the scope of the present disclosure to any specific implementation of a gNB. It should be noted that gNB 101 and gNB 103 can include the same or similar structures as gNB 102.
[0076] As shown in FIG. 3b, gNB 102 includes a plurality of antennas 370a-370n, a plurality of RF transceivers 372a-372n, a transmission (TX) processing circuit 374, and a reception (RX) processing circuit 376. In certain embodiments, one or more of the plurality of antennas 370a-370n include a 2D antenna array. gNB 102 also includes a controller / processor 378, a memory 380, and a backhaul or network interface 382.
[0077] RF transceivers 372a-372n receive an incoming RF signal from antennas 370a-370n, such as a signal transmitted by UEs or other gNBs. RF transceivers 372a-372n down-convert the incoming RF signal to generate an IF or baseband signal. The IF or baseband signal is transmitted to the RX processing circuit 376, where the RX processing circuit 376 generates a processed baseband signal by filtering, decoding and / or digitizing the baseband or IF signal. RX processing circuit 376 transmits the processed baseband signal to controller / processor 378 for further processing.
[0078] The TX processing circuit 374 receives analog or digital data (such as voice data, network data, email or interactive video game data) from the controller / processor 378. TX processing circuit 374 encodes, multiplexes and / or digitizes outgoing baseband data to generate a processed baseband or IF signal. RF transceivers 372a-372n receive the outgoing processed baseband or IF signal from TX processing circuit 374 and up-convert the baseband or IF signal into an RF signal transmitted via antennas 370a-370n.
[0079] The controller / processor 378 can include one or more processors or other processing devices that control the overall operation of gNB 102. For example, the controller / processor 378 can control the reception of forward channel signals and the transmission of backward channel signals through the RF transceivers 372a-372n, the RX processing circuit 376 and the TX processing circuit 374 according to well-known principles. The controller / processor 378 can also support additional functions, such as higher-level wireless communication functions. For example, the controller / processor 378 can perform a Blind Interference Sensing (BIS) process such as that performed through a BIS algorithm, and decode a received signal from which an interference signal is subtracted. A controller / processor 378 may support any of a variety of other functions in gNB 102. In some embodiments, the controller / processor 378 includes at least one microprocessor or microcontroller.
[0080] The controller / processor 378 is also capable of executing programs and other processes residing in the memory 380, such as a basic OS. The controller / processor 378 can also support channel quality measurement and reporting for systems with 2D antenna arrays as described in embodiments of the present disclosure. In some embodiments, the controller / processor 378 supports communication between entities such as web RTCs. The controller / processor 378 can move data into or out of the memory 380 as required by an execution process.
[0081] The controller / processor 378 is also coupled to the backhaul or network interface 382. The backhaul or network interface 382 allows gNB 102 to communicate with other devices or systems through a backhaul connection or through a network. The backhaul or network interface 382 can support communication over any suitable wired or wireless connection(s). For example, when gNB 102 is implemented as a part of a cellular communication system, such as a cellular communication system supporting 5G or new radio access technology or NR, LTE or LTE-A, the backhaul or network interface 382 can allow gNB 102 to communicate with other gNBs through wired or wireless backhaul connections. When gNB 102 is implemented as an access point, the backhaul or network interface 382 can allow gNB 102 to communicate with a larger network, such as the Internet, through a wired or wireless local area network or through a wired or wireless connection. The backhaul or network interface 382 includes any suitable structure that supports communication through a wired or wireless connection, such as an Ethernet or an RF transceiver.
[0082] The memory 380 is coupled to the controller / processor 378. A part of the memory 380 can include an RAM, while another part of the memory 380 can include a flash memory or other ROMs. In certain embodiments, a plurality of instructions, such as the BIS algorithm, are stored in the memory. The plurality of instructions are configured to cause the controller / processor 378 to execute the BIS process and decode the received signal after subtracting at least one interference signal determined by the BIS algorithm.
[0083] As will be described in more detail below, the transmission and reception paths of gNB 102 (implemented using RF transceivers 372a-372n, TX processing circuit 374 and / or RX processing circuit 376) support aggregated communication with FDD cells and TDD cells.
[0084] Although FIG. 3b illustrates an example of gNB 102, various changes may be made to FIG. 3b. For example, gNB 102 can include any number of each component shown in FIG. 3a. As a specific example, the access point can include many backhaul or network interfaces 382, and the controller / processor 378 can support routing functions to route data between different network addresses. As another specific example, although shown as including a single instance of the TX processing circuit 374 and a single instance of the RX processing circuit 376, gNB 102 can include multiple instances of each (such as one for each RF transceiver).
[0085] In the Long Term Evolution (LTE) technology, sidelink communication includes two main mechanisms, which are Device to Device (D2D) direct communication and Vehicle to everything (Vehicle to Vehicle / Infrastructure / Pedestrian / Network, V2X), among which V2X is designed on the basis of D2D technology, which is superior to D2D in data rate, delay, reliability and link capacity, and is the most representative sidelink communication technology in LTE technology. In 5G system, sidelink communication mainly includes vehicle to everything (V2X) communication at present.
[0086] As the evolution technology of LTE, the 5G NR system also includes the further evolution of sidelink communication. In Release 18, the evolution of sidelink communication includes support to directions such as unlicensed frequency band, FR2, carrier aggregation, co-channel coexistence with LTE, and technologies in other fields such as positioning.
[0087] In the embodiment of the application, the information configured by the base station, indicated by signaling, configured by the higher layer and pre-configured includes a set of configuration information; also includes multiple sets of configuration information from which the UE selects a set of configuration information to use according to predefined condition; and also includes a set of configuration information containing a plurality of subsets from which the UE selects one subset to use according to predefined condition.
[0088] In the embodiment of this application, lower than a threshold can also be replaced by lower than or equal to a threshold, higher than(exceeding) a threshold can also be replaced by higher than or equal to a threshold, less than or equal to can also be replaced by less than, greater than or equal to or greater than; or vice versa.
[0089] Some technical solutions provided in the embodiment of this application are specifically described based on the V2X system, but its application scenario should not be limited to the V2X system in sidelink communication, but can also be applied to other sidelink transmission systems. For example, the design based on the V2X sub-channel in the following embodiments can also be used for the D2D sub-channel or other sub-channels of sidelink transmission. The V2X resource pool in the following embodiments can also be replaced by a D2D resource pool in other sidelink transmission systems, such as D2D.
[0090] In the embodiment of this application, when the sidelink communication system is a V2X system, the terminal or UE can be a Vehicle, an Infrastructure, a Pedestrian, and other types of terminals or UEs.
[0091] The base station in this specification can also be replaced by other nodes, such as sidelink nodes, a specific example is the roadside station (infrastructure) UE in the sidelink system. Any mechanism applicable to the base station in this embodiment can also be similarly used in the scenarios where the base station is replaced by other sidelink nodes, and the description will not be repeated.
[0092] In this specification, slots can also be replaced with time units, candidate slots can also be replaced with candidate time units, and candidate single slot resources can also be replaced with candidate single time unit resources. In a specific example, the time unit can include a specific time length, such as several consecutive symbols.
[0093] The slot in this specification can be either a subframe or slot in the physical sense, or a subframe or slot the logical sense. Specifically, the subframe or slot in the logical sense is the subframe or slot corresponding to the resource pool of sidelink communication. For example, in the V2X system, the resource pool is defined by a repeated bitmap, which is mapped to a specific set of slots, the specific set of slots can be all slots, or all other slots except some specific slots (e.g., slots for transmitting Master Information Block (MIB) / System Information Block (SIB)). The slot indicated as "1" in the bitmap can be used for V2X transmission and belongs to the slot corresponding to the V2X resource pool; the slot indicated as "0" cannot be used for V2X transmission and does not belong to the slot corresponding to the V2X resource pool.
[0094] The following is a typical application scenario to illustrate the difference between physical or logical subframes or slots: when calculating the time domain gap between two specific channels / messages (such as PSSCH carrying sidelink data and PSFCH carrying corresponding feedback information), it is assumed that the gap is N slots. If physical subframes or slots are calculated, the N slots correspond to the absolute time length of N*x milliseconds in the time domain, and x is the time length of the physical slot (subframe) under the numerology of the scenario in millisecond. Otherwise, if the logical subframes or slots are calculated, take the sidelink resource pool defined by the bitmap as an example, the gap of the N slots corresponds to the N slots indicated as "1" in the bitmap, and the absolute time length of the gap changes with the specific configuration of the sidelink communication resource pool without a fixed value.
[0095] Further, the slot in this specification can be a complete slot or several symbols corresponding to sidelink communication in one slot. For example, when the sidelink communication is configured to be performed on the X1~X2 symbols of each slot, the slot in the following embodiment is the X1~X2 symbols in the slot in this scenario; alternatively, when the sidelink communication is configured as mini-slot transmission, the slot in the following embodiments is mini-slot defined or configured in the sidelink system rather than the slot in the NR system; alternatively, when the sidelink communication is configured as symbol level transmission, the slots in the following embodiments can be replaced with symbols, or can be replaced with N symbols with time domain granularity as symbol level transmission. Exemplary embodiments of the present disclosure are further described below with reference to the accompanying drawings.
[0096] In the present specification, when a UE obtains or uses a threshold, the threshold may be pre-defined and / or configured, and for configured thresholds, the configuration may be at least one of higher layer configured (e.g. RRC / MAC configured), base station configured, configured by other UEs, pre-configured.
[0097] To make the objects, technical solutions and advantages of the present application more clear, the implementation of the present application will be further described in detail below in conjunction with the accompanying drawings.
[0098] And the text and drawings are only provided as examples to help readers understand this disclosure. They are not intended and should not be construed to limit the scope of the present disclosure in any way. Although some embodiments and examples have been provided, based on the disclosure herein, it is obvious to those skilled in the art that changes can be made to the illustrated embodiments and examples without departing from the scope of this disclosure.
[0099] Positioning techniques based on sidelink communication may support UE-based positioning and UE-assisted positioning, the former mainly involves the UE transmitting or receiving positioning signals, collecting measurement results, and positioning at the UE based on the collected results, and the latter mainly involves the UE transmitting positioning signals or measuring the positioning signals and the reporting the measurement results to the network side, and the network side positions the UE. Accordingly, in the positioning techniques based on sidelink communication, there are several types of typical scenarios:
[0100] The first UE transmits signals / channels for positioning by sidelink to the base station and / or other sidelink UEs for measurement by the base station and / or other sidelink UEs; the measurement results may be reported to the network side or fed back to the first UE and used to determine the position information of the first UE;
[0101] The first UE transmits signals / channels for positioning by sidelink to the base station and / or other sidelink UEs for measurement by the base station and / or other sidelink UEs; the measurement result may be reported to the network side or fed back to the first UE and used to determine position information of the other UEs;
[0102] The first UE receives signals / channels for positioning transmitted by the base station and / or other sidelink UEs through sidelink and performs measurements; the measurement result may be reported to the network side or fed back to the base station and / or the other sidelink UEs and used to determine the position information of the first UE;
[0103] The first UE receives signals / channels for positioning transmitted by the base station and / or other sidelink UEs through sidelink and performs measurements; the measurement results may be reported to the network side or fed back to the base station and / or the other sidelink UEs and used to determine the position information of the other UEs. In the following description, the actions performed by the first UE are described with respect to the perspective of the first UE, and for the sake of redundancy, the actions performed by a second UE are not specifically described, but the second UE performs the actions on the opposite side in cooperation with the first UE. In addition, the sequence numbers in the "first UE" and the "second UE" as used herein are only used to distinguish between two different UEs, which may be used interchangeably in fact.
[0104] In the present specification, a method for a UE to determine whether to transmit / receive positioning-related signals / channels through sidelink, and to determine corresponding sidelink resources and transmit / receive positioning-related signals / channels on the resources, is explained in conjunction with the above-described several typical application scenarios.
[0105] In the specification, the mentioned nods may be at least one of: a base station, a Location Management Function (LMF), a sidelink UE.
[0106] In the present description, the reception of signals / channels for positioning may also be replaced by measurement of signals / channels or by reception and measurement of signals / channels.
[0107] In the specification, the time-frequency resource may be a time domain resource and / or a frequency domain resource, and description is not repeated everywhere.
[0108] In the sidelink positioning technology, the sidelink positioning resource allocation is performed based on the resource pool, and currently there are two main types of resource pools: resource pool dedicated to sidelink positioning reference signals SL PRSs, resource pool shared with sidelink communication. For the resource pool dedicated to SL PRS, the resource pool may be used for transmission of SL PRSs and Physical Sidelink Control Channels PSCCHs associated with SL PRSs. For the resource pool shared with the sidelink communication, the resource pool is used for transmission of signals / channels related to the sidelink positioning, including at least transmission of SL PRSs, possibly also including transmission of PSCCHs associated with SL PRSs and / or measurement report of SL PRSs; the resource pool is also used for the transmission of signals / channels related to the sidelink communication, including the transmission of PSCCHs and PSSCHs, possibly also including the transmission of PSFCHs and / or SL-SSBs and PSBCHs.
[0109] A design of a physical layer structure of sidelink positioning reference signals SL PRSs and physical sidelink control channels PSCCHs associated with the SL PRSs is provided in the specification. The design includes a physical layer structure that allows multiple SL PRSs and their associated PSCCHs to be multiplexed on the same time resource elements (e.g., slots) and frequency domain resource element (e.g., subchannel), and to design resource positions for a receiver to perform automatic gain control AGC for possible power changes among multiple SL PRSs and their associated PSCCHs, and to reserve gaps for possible UE state transition between transmission and reception among multiple SL PRSs and their associated PSCCHs; Thereby, the physical layer structure can efficiently support multiplexing of SL PRSs at the sub-channel level and the slot level, thereby improving the utilization efficiency of the sidelink resources. The design may be used in the resource pool dedicated to SL PRSs. In addition, a physical layer structure that can be used in the resource pool shared with sidelink communication is also provided in the present specification.
[0110] In conventional sidelink communication, the scheduling of communication resources is in unit of slot in the time domain and in unit of sub-channel in the frequency domain. When a UE transmits sidelink communication using one slot and one subchannel, it may be considered that the sidelink channel transmitted by the UE occupies all of Resource Elements (REs) corresponding to the sidelink channel on the slot and the subchannel, as shown in FIG. 4.
[0111] The SL PRS is different from the conventional sidelink communication in that its transmission may be in the unit of slot in the time domain and in the unit of subchannel or Resource Block (RB) in the frequency domain. When a UE transmits SL PRS using one slot and one subchannel / RB, one SL PRS resource may occupy only a portion of the REs on the slot and the subchannel / RB, such as the REs corresponding to a particular resource pattern. Two examples of one SL PRS resource occupying partial REs on a slot and sub-channel / RB are provided in FIG. 5, where the shaded portion on the non-PSSCH resource represents the REs occupied by the SL PRS resource. Therefore, when SL PRS configuration includes a set of multiple SL PRS resources and there are non-overlapping resources in the set, multiple SL PRSs using the non-overlapping SL PRS resources may be multiplexed on the same slot and subchannel / RB for transmission. An example in which multiple SL PRSs using non-overlapping resources are multiplexed on the same slot and the same frequency domain resource with a length of N subchannels is provided in FIG. 6, where the multiple SL PRSs are distinguished by different pattern fills. The RE patterns of SL PRS resources employed in this example are Time-Division Multiplexing (TDM), but in other examples the RE patterns of different SL PRS resources may also be TDM and / or FDM, and may have the same or different starting symbol positions, and the scope of protection should not be limited by the patterns shown in this example. Wherein the SL PRS configuration may be a system level or resource pool level configuration (e.g., all SL PRS configurations allowed in a resource pool), and may or may not be the SL PRS configuration obtained by a sidelink UE. This method can significantly improve the efficiency of utilization of air interface resources, for example, when 4 non-overlapping SL PRS patterns are included in the SL PRS configuration of the resource pool, one time-frequency resource can be used for a maximum of 4 UEs to transmit SL PRS corresponding to different resource patterns, instead of the data channel being used for a maximum of 1 UE to transmit its PSSCH. When the resource pool is congested, this method is particularly effective in improving throughput and reducing the risk of conflicts.
[0112] In the present specification, the multiplexing of signals / channels includes: the multiplexing between physical layer resources corresponding to the signals / channels may be the same as or different from the multiplexing between signals / channels actually transmitted, for explaining how different resources in the physical layer structure used by the system are multiplexed in a slot and a subchannel; and / or the multiplexing between the transmissions of the signals / channels may be a subset of the multiplexing between the physical layer resources to account for what way the UE selects the resources multiplexed in the physical layer structure for the actual transmission.
[0113] The present specification provides a method in which a transmitting UE of some signals / channels determines a resource for AGC and / or transmits a signal / channel corresponding to the AGC. Since the AGC is a method performed by the receiving UE to adjust the receiver power range, the processing of the AGC by the transmitting UE includes using a specific signal / channel mapping method on a resource corresponding to the AGC at the time of generating signals / channels, which can be used to allow the receiving UE perform the AGC on the resources. A specific example is that the transmitting UE processes the AGC symbol by transmitting a duplication of a symbol of other sidelink signals / channels on that symbol, e.g., transmitting a duplication of the first SL PRS symbol on the AGC symbol before the SL PRS, transmitting a duplication of the first PSCCH symbol on the AGC symbol before the PSCCH, etc.; and the same transmission power is maintained on the AGC symbol and the symbol of the signals / channels following it.
[0114] For convenience of description, the above-described specific method is not provided in every method relating to the processing of the AGC by the transmitting UE in this specification, but is referred to in terms of determining resources for the AGC and transmitting signals / channels corresponding to the AGC. The actions of the transmitting UE to determine resources for AGC resources and to transmit signals / channels corresponding to the AGC in the specification may be replaced with the above-described specific processing method of the transmitting UE for resources for the AGC. For example, the UE determining the AGC symbol before a SL PRS may be replaced with the UE determining a symbol before the SL PRS that is used for the transmission of the first symbol of the SL PRS and a duplication of the first symbol by the UE, and the transmission power used on the symbol is same as that of SL PRS.
[0115] FIG. 7 illustrates a flowchart of a method performed by a node according to an embodiment of the present disclosure.

[0154] The first UE obtaining or determining a first structure, and / or the first UE obtaining or determining position of at least one PSCCH resource and / or SL PRS resource, includes at least one of the following methods:

The first UE determines whether there are resources for AGC and / or gap before and after the N SL PRS resources and their corresponding PSCCH resources and determines the number of symbols of resources for AGC and / or gap, and uses the remaining symbols that are not used for AGC, gap and PSCCH for SL PRS. Optionally, the first UE uniformly allocates the remaining M symbols to the N SL PRS resources, and in the case that M / N is not divisible, allocates the number of symbols rounded down or rounded up to M / N to each of the first N-l SL PRS resources, and allocates the remaining symbols to the last SL PRS resource;
[0157] The first information indicates that a slot includes N TDM SL PRS resources or N TDM SL PRS resource sets, hereinafter collectively referred to as SL PRS resources for convenience of description; and the first information indicates the number of symbols of at least one SL PRS resource. Optionally, when multiple numbers are indicated, the multiple numbers correspond to the N TDM SL PRS resources in sequence; when a number is indicated, the number corresponds to each of the N TDM SL PRS resources. The first UE determines whether there are resources for AGC and / or gap before and after the N SL PRS resources and their corresponding PSCCH resources and determines the number of symbols of resources for AGC and / or gap;
[0158] According to whether there are resources for AGC and / or gap before and after the N SL PRS resources and their corresponding PSCCH resources, and according to the number of symbols of each of the N SL PRS resources, the first UE determines at least one of an index of a starting and ending symbol of at least one SL PRS resource, an index of a starting and ending symbol of at least one PSCCH resource, an index of at least one AGC symbol, an index of at least one gap symbol in order.
[0159] Wherein the set of SL PRS resources may be a set of multiple SL PRS resources multiplexed comb-based on a same symbol.
[0160] Optionally, the first structure is based on the first information. Further, the first structure is obtained or determined based on at least one of the following:
[0161] Based on the multiplexing of SL PRSs being TDM and / or comb-based multiplexing, obtaining or determining a position of at least one SL PRS resource and / or at least one symbol for SL PRS (a symbol may also be replaced by other time units) in a first structure, and / or obtaining or determining whether and / or a position of at least one resource for AGC (which may be AGC symbol), and / or obtaining or determining whether and / or a position of at least one resource for gap (which may be gap symbol);
[0162] Based on the multiplexing of the PSCCHs being TDM and / or FDM, obtaining or determining the position of at least one PSCCH resource and / or at least one symbol for PSCCH in the first structure (a symbol may also be replaced by other time units), and / or obtaining or determining whether and / or the position of at least one resource for AGC (which may be AGC symbol), and / or obtaining or determining whether and / or the position of at least one resource for gap (which may be gap symbol).
[0163] Further, the first UE determines the first structure based on at least one of the following: determining whether there is a resource for AGC before the PSCCH resource, determining whether there is a resource for AGC before the SL PRS resource, determining whether there is a resource for gap after the PSCCH resource, determining whether there is a resource for gap after the SL PRS resource.
[0164] Optionally, determining whether there are resources for AGC before the PSCCH resource includes: when the at least one first PSCCH resource and the at least one second PSCCH resource are TDM, and / or when the at least one first PSCCH resource and the at least one second PSCCH resource are TDM and the first PSCCH resource and the second PSCCH resource are not configured to be used by the same transmitter UE, there is a resource for AGC, e.g., at least one AGC symbol, between the first PSCCH resource and the second PSCCH resource; the at least one AGC symbol may be located in an adjacent symbol before a starting symbol of a later one among the first and second PSCCH resources. Optionally, if the first PSCCH resource and the second PSCCH resource are contiguous in time domain (contiguous here means that there are no other PSCCH resources / SL PRS resources / resources for other sidelink signal channels between the time domain positions of the first PSCCH resource and the second PSCCH resource, but there may be resources for AGC or gap), there are resources for AGC between the first PSCCH resource and the second PSCCH resource, e.g., an OFDM symbol for AGC. In the method, the first PSCCH resource may include one or more resources, and / or the second PSCCH resource may include one or more resources; when multiple resources are included, the multiple resources may be FDM, and at this time the multiplexing of the PSCCH is TDM and FDM.
[0165] Optionally, determining whether there are resources for AGC before the SL PRS resources includes: when the at least one first SL PRS resource and the at least one second SL PRS resource are TDM, there are resources for AGC, such as at least one AGC symbol, between the first SL PRS resource and the second SL PRS resource; the at least one AGC symbol may be located in an adjacent symbol before the starting symbol of the later one among the first and second SL PRS resources. Optionally, if the first SL PRS resource and the second SL PRS resource are contiguous in time domain (contiguous here means that there are no other PSCCH resources / SL PRS resources / resources for other sidelink signal channels between the time domain positions of the first SL PRS resource and the second SL PRS resource, but there may be resources for AGC or gap), there are resources for AGC between the first SL PRS resource and the second SL PRS resource, e.g., an OFDM symbol for AGC. In the method, the first SL PRS resource may include one or more resources and / or the second SL PRS resource may include one or more resources; when multiple resources are included, the multiple resources may be comb-based multiplexing, and at this time the multiplexing of SL PRS is TDM and comb-based multiplexing.
[0166] Optionally, determining whether there are resources for AGC before the SL PRS resource includes: when the at least one third SL PRS resource and the at least one third PSCCH resource are TDM and the third PSCCH resource includes at least one PSCCH resource whose corresponding SL PRS resource does not belong to the third SL PRS resource (or the third SL PRS resource includes at least one SL PRS resource whose corresponding PSCCH resource does not belong to the third PSCCH resource), there are resources for AGC, e.g., at least one AGC symbol, between the third SL PRS resource and the third PSCCH resource; accordingly, when the at least one third SL PRS resource and the at least one third PSCCH resource are TDM and any one of the third PSCCH resources corresponds to at least one of the third SL PRS resources (or any one of the third SL PRS resources corresponds to at least one of the third PSCCH resources), there are no resources between the third SL PRS resource and the third PSCCH resource for AGC, or an adjacent symbol before the starting symbol of the later one among the third PSCCH resource and the third SL PRS resource is not used for AGC; and / or, when at least one third SL PRS resource and at least one third PSCCH resource are TDM and at least two PSCCH resources in a slot are TDM and / or at least two SL PRS resources in a slot are TDM, there are resources for AGC between the third SL PRS resource and the third PSCCH resource, e.g., at least one AGC symbol; the at least one AGC symbol may be located in an adjacent symbol before the starting symbol of a resource of the later one among the third PSCCH resource and the third SL PRS resource. Optionally, if the third SL PRS resource and the third PSCCH resource are contiguous in time domain (contiguous here means that there are no other PSCCH resources / SL PRS resources / resources for other sidelink signal channels between the time domain positions of the third SL PRS resource and the third PSCCH resource, but there may be resources for AGC or gap), there are resources for AGC between the third SL PRS resource and the third PSCCH resource, e.g., an OFDM symbol for AGC. In the approach, the third SL PRS resources may include one or more resources, and when including multiple resources, the multiple resources may be comb-based multiplexed; and / or the third PSCCH resource may include one or more resources, and when including multiple resources, the multiple resources may be FDM.
[0167] Optionally, determining whether there are resources for AGC before the SL PRS resource includes: when the at least one fourth SL PRS resource and the at least one fourth PSCCH resource are TDM and a first condition is also met, there are resources for AGC, e.g., at least one AGC symbol, between the fourth SL PRS resource and the fourth PSCCH resource; the at least one AGC symbol may be located in an adjacent symbol before the starting symbol of a resource of the later one among the fourth PSCCH resource and the fourth SL PRS resource. The first condition includes at least one of: a first transmission power of the first UE on the fourth PSCCH resource is different from a second transmission power on the fourth SL PRS resource, the first transmission power and / or the second transmission power reaches a maximum value of transmission power (e.g., 23 dBm), a value of an associated parameter used to calculate the first transmission power and / or the second transmission power exceeds a threshold or meets a predetermined threshold range, the first transmission power and / or the second transmission power exceeds or reaches a power threshold or does not meet the predetermined threshold range, a frequency domain size of the fourth SL PRS resource exceeds a threshold, a ratio of a frequency domain size of the fourth SL PRS resource and a frequency domain size of the fourth PSCCH resource exceeds a threshold. Accordingly, the adjacent symbol before the starting symbol of the resource of the later one among the fourth PSCCH resource and the fourth SL PRS resource is not used for AGC when at least one of the following is met: the first transmission power is the same as the second transmission power, the first transmission power and / or the second transmission power does not reach a maximum value of transmission power (e.g., 23 dBm), a value of an associated parameter used to calculate the first transmission power and / or the second transmission power does not exceed a threshold or does not meet a predetermined threshold range, the first transmission power and / or the second transmission power is below a power threshold or meet the predetermined threshold range, a frequency domain size of the fourth SL PRS resource is below a threshold, a ratio of a frequency domain size of the fourth SL PRS resource and a frequency domain size of the fourth PSCCH resource is below a threshold. Wherein the power threshold and / or frequency domain size and / or threshold of frequency domain size ratio may be preset, and / or determined according to UE device or UE capability (e.g. capability related to maximum transmission power), and / or configured, e.g. may be a threshold set based on maximum transmission power on each RE that does not distort the transmission; may be included in the first information. Optionally, the first transmission power and / or the second transmission power includes a total transmission power over at least one time unit, e.g., a total transmission power over a symbol; and / or transmission power on at least one frequency-domain resource unit on at least one time unit, the frequency-domain resource unit including at least one of a subchannel, a PRB, an RE. Optionally, if the fourth SL PRS resource and the fourth PSCCH resource are contiguous in time domain (contiguous here means that there are no other PSCCH resources / SL PRS resources / resources for other sidelink signal channels between the time domain positions of the fourth SL PRS resource and the fourth PSCCH resource, but there may be resources for AGC or gap), there are resource for AGC between the fourth SL PRS resource and the fourth PSCCH resource, e.g., a OFDM symbol for AGC. In the approach, the fourth SL PRS resources may include one or more resources, and when multiple resources are included, the multiple resources may be comb-based multiplexed; and / or the fourth PSCCH resource may include one or more resources, and when multiple resources are included, the multiple resources may be FDM.
[0168] In an exemplary embodiment, the first UE determines to transmits SL PRSs on a fourth SL PRS value occupying 100 PRBs and transmits PSCCH on a fourth PSCCH resource occupying 2 PRBs. Based on the requirement to reduce AGC, the first UE should try to transmit PSCCH with the same transmission power per symbol on the symbols occupied by the fourth SL PRS resource and on the symbols occupied by the fourth PSCCH resource. However, since the bandwidth difference between the fourth SL PRS resource and the fourth PSCCH resource is too large, the first UE, if keeping the transmission power per symbol constant, will cause the transmission power on each RE on the fourth PSCCH resource to be too large, e.g., exceed a preset power threshold, thereby distorting the transmission on the fourth PSCCH resource; therefore, the first UE needs to reduce the transmission power on the fourth PSCCH resource to not exceed the preset power threshold, which may result in the total transmission power on a symbol on the fourth PSCCH resource being less than the total transmission power on a symbol on the fourth SL PRS resource. In this case, the first UE determines that there is an AGC symbol between the fourth PSCCH and the fourth SL PRS resource. Since the frequency domain size of the fourth PSCCH resource and the fourth SL PRS resource is used to calculate how to determine the power on each RE without changing the transmission power per symbol in the exemplary embodiment, the exemplary embodiment may also be used to explain the threshold of the frequency domain size or the ratio thereof as the technical effect of determining whether an AGC symbol is present.
[0169] Optionally, determining whether there are resources for AGC before the SL PRS resource includes: when a time domain size of the SL PRS resources exceeds a threshold value, an adjacent symbol before a starting symbol of the SL PRS resources is not used for AGC; otherwise a symbol before the starting symbol of the SL PRS resource is used for AGC or whether a symbol before the SL PRS resource is used for AGC is determined according to other methods described above. The method may be used in conjunction with the other methods described above and overwrite the AGC symbol before the SL PRS resources determined in the other methods described above, for example, by determining a symbol before the SL PRS as an AGC symbol using the other methods described above, and then determining whether the symbol is not used for AGC based on the time domain size of the SL PRS resources. Optionally, when the first UE transmits SL PRS to the second UE, the first UE determines whether to use this method according to the UE capability on AGC provided by the second UE; for example, the first UE uses this method when the AGC processing latency of the second UE is lower than a threshold value or when the UE capability level of the AGC processing latency of the second UE meets a preset range, otherwise the first UE does not use this method. This method may also be similarly used to determine whether there are resources for AGC before the PSCCH resource. The technical effect of this method is that when the time for the second UE to perform AGC is short, it is possible to use a small number of microseconds of a SL PRS resource symbol for AGC and receive and measure SL PRS over the time remaining in the symbol. Thus, the overhead caused by the AGC symbols can be reduced without significantly reducing the accuracy of the measurement.
[0170] The above-mentioned alternative methods for determining resources for AGC may be combined arbitrarily, for example, there are resources for AGC when the conditions in the above-mentioned at least two methods are met. The above methods may also be used inversely to determine that there are no corresponding resources for AGC, e.g., when the conditions in any of the above methods is not met, or when the conditions in some of the above methods are not met.
[0171] Optionally, determining whether there are resources for the gap after the PSCCH resource and / or after the SL PRS resource includes: when a second condition is met, there are resources for the gap between the fifth PSCCH resource and the sixth PSCCH resource, and / or there are resources for the gap between the fifth SL PRS resource and the sixth SL PRS resource, and / or there are resource for the gap between the seventh PSCCH resource and the seventh SL PRS resource; and / or the second condition is not met.
[0172] The second condition includes at least one of the followings:
[0173] The first UE may switch between transmitting and receiving in a slot, the switching may further include switching between transmitting and receiving for PSCCH and / or switching between transmitting and receiving for SL PRS, and may also between transmitting and receiving for any sidelink signal / channel; Further, whether the first UE is capable of the switching is preset, and / or determined according to UE capability, and / or indicated in the first information;
[0174] The at least one fifth PSCCH resource and the at least one sixth PSCCH resource are TDM;
[0175] The at least one fifth SL PRS resource and the at least one sixth SL PRS resource are TDM; or, the at least one fifth SL PRS resource and the at least one sixth SL PRS resource are TDM, and the corresponding PSCCH resource of the at least one fifth SL PRS resource and the corresponding PSCCH resource of the at least one sixth SL PRS resource are TDM;
[0176] The at least one seventh SL PRS resource and the at least one seventh PSCCH resource are TDM and the seventh PSCCH resource includes at least one PSCCH resource whose corresponding SL PRS resource does not belong to the seventh SL PRS resource (or the seventh SL PRS resource includes at least one SL PRS resource whose corresponding PSCCH resource does not belong to the seventh PSCCH resource).
[0177] Accordingly, when the at least one fifth SL PRS resource and the at least one sixth SL PRS resource are TDM, but the corresponding PSCCH resource of the at least one fifth SL PRS resource and the corresponding PSCCH resource of the at least one sixth SL PRS resource are not TDM, there are no resources for the gap between the fifth SL PRS resource and the sixth SL PRS resource, or there are no resources for the gap between the fifth SL PRS resource and the sixth SL PRS resource and no resources for the gap after the sixth SL PRS resource; and / or, when the at least one seventh SL PRS resource and the at least one seventh PSCCH resource are TDM and any one of the seventh PSCCH resources corresponds to at least one of the seventh SL PRS resources (or any one of the seventh SL PRS resources corresponds to at least one of the seventh PSCCH resources), there are no resources for the gap between the seventh PSCCH resource and the seventh SL PRS resource or there are no resources for the gap after a resource of the later one among the seventh PSCCH resource and the seventh SL PRS resource.
[0178] The resources for the gap may be at least one gap symbol, and the at least one gap symbol may be located in an adjacent symbol after the ending symbol of a resource of the earlier one among the fifth PSCCH resource and the sixth PSCCH resource, and / or the fifth SL PRS resource and the sixth SL PRS resource, and / or the seventh PSCCH resource and the seventh SL PRS resource. Optionally, if the fifth PSCCH resource and the sixth PSCCH resource, and / or the fifth SL PRS resource and the sixth SL PRS resource, and / or the seventh PSCCH resource and the seventh SL PRS resource are consecutive in time domain (the meaning of consecutive here is similar to that explained in other methods above), there are resources for the gap, e.g., a gap symbol, between the above resources. The fifth / sixth / seventh SL PRS resources in this method may include one or more resources, and when multiple resources are included, the multiple resources may be comb-based multiplexed; The fifth / sixth / seventh PSCCH resources may include one or more resources, and when multiple resources are included, the multiple resources may be FDM.
[0179] In an exemplary embodiment, PSCCH resources 5A, 5B, 6A, 6B respectively correspond to SL PRS resources 5C, 5D, 6C, 6D in order, PSCCH resources 5A and 5B are FDM on symbol A, PSCCH resources 6A and 6B are FDM on symbol B, A not equal to B; SL PRS resources 5C and 5D are comb-based multiplexed on symbols X1-X2, SL PRS resources 6C and 6D are comb-based multiplexed on symbols Y1-Y2, which are non-overlapping OFDM symbols, i.e., the two pairs of SL PRS resources are TDM. The first UE is configured / preset to transmit / receive transition in a slot. Since the UE may transmit on one of symbol A and symbol B and receive on the other, according to the TDM of 5A, 5B and 6A, 6B, the first UE determines that there is a gap symbol between symbol A and symbol B, which may be symbol A+1.Since the UE may transmit on one group of symbols X1-X2 and Y1-Y2 and receive on the other group, according to the TDM of 5C, 5D and 6C, 6D, the first UE determines that there is a gap symbol between symbols X1-X2 and Y1-Y2, which may be symbol X2 + 1.
[0180] In another exemplary embodiment, PSCCH resources 5A, 5B respectively correspond to SL PRS resources 5C, 5D in order, PSCCH resources 5A and 5B are FDM on symbol A, and SL PRS resources 5C, 5D are TDM. Since 5A, 5B are on the same symbol A, the UE cannot transmit on one of 5A and 5B and receive on the other, resulting in the UE being unable to transmit an SL PRS on one of 5C and 5D and obtain control information of the SL PRS on the other to make a reception measurement of the SL PRS according to the control information, so that the UE does not need to switch between transmitting and receiving for 5C and 5D.Thus according to non-TDM between 5A and 5B and the mapping relationship of 5A, 5B to 5C, 5D respectively, the UE determines that there is no gap symbol between 5C, 5D.
[0181] Optionally, the correspondence between the at least one PSCCH resource and the at least one SL PRS resource further includes at least one of:
[0182] A PSCCH resource corresponds to a SL PRS resource according to pre-set / configured criteria;
[0183] A PSCCH resource corresponds to K SL PRS resources according to pre-set / configured criteria;
[0184] A PSCCH resource corresponds to K SL PRS resources according to the indication in PSCCH and / or SCI.
[0185] Wherein K is an integer greater than 1.
[0186] In an exemplary embodiment, a PSCCH resource corresponds to K+1 SL PRS resources, one of which is determined according to pre-set / configured mapping criteria, and the other K SL PRS resources are determined according to an indication in the SCI transmitted on the PSCCH resource.
[0187] How the first UE uses the first structure based on the first information is illustrated below in conjunction with a specific example. In the following drawings, SL PRS resources and PSCCH resources are distinguished by patterns, and different patterns correspond to different resources, and SL PRS resources and PSCCH resources of the same pattern are corresponding resources.
[0188] FIG. 8a is an exemplary embodiment of the first structure, where the second and third symbols are used for PSCCH resources, and the remaining symbols except AGC, gap, PSCCH symbols are used for SL PRS. Wherein PSCCH resources are FDM, SL PRS resources are comb-based multiplexed. The first UE determines, based on the multiplexing between the PSCCHs and the SL PRSs, that no AGC symbols before PSCCH symbols other than the first PSCCH symbol and no AGC symbols between PSCCH resources and SL PRS resources.
[0189] In FIG. 8b is another exemplary embodiment of the first structure, the second and third symbols are used for PSCCH resources, and the remaining symbols except AGC, gap, PSCCH symbols are used for SL PRS. Unlike in FIG. 8a, the first UE determines that there is an AGC symbol between the PSCCH resource and the SL PRS resource based on the total transmission power on the third symbol being different from the total transmission power on the symbol of the corresponding SL PRS resource.
[0190] In FIG. 9a is another exemplary embodiment of the first structure, the second and fourth symbols are used for PSCCH resources, and the remaining symbols except AGC, gap, PSCCH symbols are used for SL PRS. Wherein PSCCH resources are FDM and TDM, SL PRS resources are comb-based multiplexed. The first UE determines that there is an AGC symbol before the symbols of corresponding TDM PSCCH resources and there is an AGC symbol between the fourth symbol (i.e., the last PSCCH symbol) and SL PRS symbols based on the multiplexing of PSCCHs and SL PRSs, and that SL PRS resources in the sixth symbol include PSCCH resources in which the associated PSCCH resources are located in the second but not fourth symbol.
[0191] FIG. 9b is another exemplary embodiment of the first structure, the second and third symbols are used for PSCCH resources, and the remaining symbols except AGC, gap, PSCCH symbols are used for SL PRS. Wherein PSCCH resources are FDM and SL PRS resources are TDM. The first UE determines that there is an AGC symbol between the TDM SL PRS resources and determines that there is an AGC symbol between the PSCCH resources and the first SL PRS resource based on the PSCCH resource in the third symbol corresponding to an SL PRS resource that is not identical to the first SL PRS resource.
[0192] FIG. 9c is another exemplary embodiment of the first structure, the second and fourth symbols are used for PSCCH resources, and the remaining symbols except AGC, gap, PSCCH symbols are used for SL PRS. Wherein PSCCH resources are FDM and TDM, SL PRS resources are TDM. The first UE determines that there is an AGC symbol between TDM SL PRS resources, there is an AGC symbol between TDM PSCCH resources, and determines there is an AGC symbol between the PSCCH resources and the first SL PRS resource based on the PSCCH resource in the fourth symbol corresponding to an SL PRS resource that is not identical to the first SL PRS resource. In this example, the correspondence of PSCCH resources represented by grid, twill, and vertical patterns to SL PRS resources is pre-set / configured, the PSCCH resources represented by horizontal stripes may correspond to at least one of SL PRS resources represented by grid / twill / vertical patterns, and the correspondence is indicated by way of indicating resources in PSCCH and / or SCI.
[0193] FIG. 10a is an exemplary embodiment of another first structure, remaining symbols except AGC, gap, PSCCH symbols are used for SL PRS. Wherein PSCCH resources and SL PRS resources are transmitted consecutively and different PSCCH and SL PRS resource combinations are TDM. The first UE determines that there is an AGC symbol between a combination of a SL PRS resource and PSCCH resources and another combination, wherein the two combinations are TDM; it is determined that there is no gap symbol between a combination of a SL PRS resource and PSCCH resources and another combination according to that the UE is configured / preset not to switch between transmitting and receiving in a slot, wherein the two combinations are TDM.
[0194] FIG. 10b is another exemplary embodiment of another first structure, and unlike FIG. 10, the first UE determines that there is a symbol gap between a combination of SL PRS resources and PSCCH resources and another combination according to the first UE being configured / preset to switch between transmitting and receiving in a slot, wherein the two combinations are TDM.
[0195] FIG. 11a is another exemplary embodiment of another first structure, the second and third symbols are used for PSCCH resources, and the remaining symbols except AGC, gap, PSCCH symbols are used for SL PRS. Wherein PSCCH resources are FDM, SL PRS resources are TDM, and PSCCH resources and SL PRS resources are TDM. The first UE determines that there is no AGC symbol between PSCCH symbols according to the multiplexing between PSCCH resources is FDM, determines that there is an AGC symbol between PSCCH resources and SL PRS resources according to that the SL PRS resource corresponding to the PSCCH symbol is not identical to the first SL PRS resource, and determines that there is are gap symbols between PSCCH and SL PRS and between different SL PRS according to that the first UE is configured / preset to switch between transmitting and receiving in a slot.
[0196] FIG. 11b is another exemplary embodiment of another first structure, the second and fifth symbols are used for PSCCH resources, and the remaining symbols except AGC, gap, PSCCH symbols are used for SL PRS. Wherein PSCCH resources are FDM and TDM, SL PRS resources are TDM. The first UE determines that there is an AGC symbol between TDM SL PRS resources; there is an AGC symbol between TDM PSCCH resources; and determines that there is an AGC symbol between the PSCCH resource and the first SL PRS resources based on the PSCCH resource in the fifth symbol corresponding to an SL PRS resource that is not identical to the first SL PRS resource; and determine that there is no gap symbol between the grid and twill SL PRS resources based on their corresponding PSCCH resources being FDM. In this example, the correspondence of PSCCH resources represented by grid, twill, and stripes to SL PRS resources is preset / configured, the PSCCH resources represented by vertical stripes may correspond to at least one of grid / twill / stripe SL PRS resources, and the correspondence is indicated by indicating the resources in the PSCCH and / or SCI.
[0197] FIG. 12a is another exemplary embodiment of another first structure, the second and ninth symbols, i.e., the two symbols each after AGC, are used for PSCCH resources, and the remaining symbols except for AGC, gap, PSCCH symbols are used for SL PRS. Wherein the PSCCH resources are FDM and TDM, the SL PRS resources are comb-based multiplexed and TDM, wherein multiple first SL PRS resources are comb-based multiplexed, multiple second SL PRS resources are comb-based multiplexed, the first SL PRS resources and the second SL PRS resources are TDM. The first UE determines that there is an AGC symbol between a combination of the multiple first SL PRS resources and corresponding PSCCH resources and a combination of the multiple second SL PRS resources and corresponding PSCCH resources, wherein the two combinations are TDM; determines that there is no AGC symbol between the PSCCH symbols and the following symbols in which the SL PRS resource are located according to that the PSCCH resource on the PSCCH symbol corresponding to the SL PRS resource is identical to the SL PRS resource on the symbol following the PSCCH symbol; determines that there is no gap symbol between the first combination and the second combination based on the first UE being preset not to switch between transmitting and receiving in a slot. The number of symbols of the first SL PRS resources and the number of symbols of the second SL PRS resource in the figure may be the same or different and may be indicated in the first information respectively.
[0198] FIG. 12b is another exemplary embodiment of another first configuration, which is generally similar to FIG. 12a, but differs in that the first UE determines that there is a gap symbol between the first combination and the second combination according to the first UE being preset to be capable to switch between transmitting and receiving in a slot.
[0199] The first UE selects at least one PSCCH resource and at least one SL PRS resource on which to PSCCH and SL PRS are transmitted respectively to the second UE, and indicates in the transmitted PSCCH (i.e., in the SCI transmitted on the PSCCH) at least one of the following information related to the first structure:
[0200] Whether at least one symbol used by the transmission is used for AGC;
[0201] Whether at least one symbol used for this transmission is used for gap;
[0202] Information of SL PRS resources used for this transmission.
[0203] Optionally, for whether at least one symbol is used for AGC and / or gap, the method of indicating this information includes at least one of the following:
[0204] Indicating whether a symbol at a specific position is used for AGC with 1 bit. Wherein the specific position may be preset and / or configured, including indirect configuration, e.g., the specific position corresponds to an AGC symbol that may be present between PSCCH and SL PRS, the position of the AGC symbol is determined by configuration on PSCCH resource and SL configuration on PRS resource;
[0205] Indicating the index of the symbol used for AGC with a specific field. The number of the field or the number of AGC symbols indicated in the field may be preset and / or configured, including determining according to preset and / or configured TDM conditions of SL PRS resources and / or PSCCH resources; for example, when 3 TDM SL PRS resources are included in a slot, 3 of these specific fields are included in the SCI.
[0206] Optionally, for the information of the SL PRS resources used for the transmission, the method of indicating the information includes at least one of the following:
[0207] An implicit indication including that the SL PRS used for the transmission is preset as the SL PRS on the SL PRS resources corresponding to the PSCCH resources, the correspondence being based on preset / configured criteria between the PSCCH resources and the SL PRS resources;
[0208] An explicit indication, including when a PSCCH resource corresponds to K SL PRS resources, indicating at least one of the K resources in PSCCH and / or SCI, and / or indicating at least one of all SL PRS resources in the slot in PSCCH and / or SCI. Optionally, when multiple SL PRS resources are indicated, in addition to explicitly or implicitly indicating the position of the first SL PRS resource, indicating the number of remaining SL PRS resources or the number of remaining SL PRS resources based on the first SL PRS resource is preset / configured, e.g., the index of the first SL PRS resource +1 one by one or the index or comb offset of the frequency domain RE of the first SL PRS resource +1 one by one.
[0209] Optionally, instead of indicating the information of the SL PRS resources used in the slot and subchannel in which the PSCCHs are located for this transmission (but may still indicate information of future reserved resources and information of the subchannel), the SL PRS resources used in the slot and subchannel in which the PSCCHs are located are determined according to the correspondence between the PSCCH and SL PRS resources.
[0210] In an exemplary embodiment, the first structure includes a total of 4 FDM-based PSCCH resources and a total of 12 comb-based multiplexed SL PRS resources, which are indexed respectively in order of the frequency domain resources increasing. According to preset criteria, in different examples, there are the following ways of resource correspondence and / or indication:
[0211] According to preset / configured criteria, PSCCH resources indexed 0, 1, 2, 3 correspond to SL PRS resources indexed 0, 3, 6, 9; the first UE does not need to explicitly indicate in the PSCCH and / or SCI the positions of the SL PRS resources in the first structure in the same slot as the PSCCH (but since the first structure may be the first structure in a subchannel, the information of the subchannel used by the SL PRS may be indicated in the PSCCH and / or SCI, the part of this description relating to the SCI indicating SL PRS may apply this method similarly);
[0212] According to preset / configured criteria, PSCCH resources indexed 0, 1, 2, 3 correspond to SL PRS resources indexed 0 ~ 2, 3 ~ 5, 6 ~ 8, 9 ~ 11, i.e. 3 SL PRS resources per PSCCH resource; The first UE transmits SL PRS on one SL PRS resource in one subchannel on one slot with 2 bits or 3 different RNTI sequences in the PSCCH and / or SCI to indicate which of the three SL PRS resources corresponding to the PSCCH is used to transmit SL PRS;
[0213] According to preset / configured criteria, PSCCH resources indexed 0, 1, 2, 3 correspond to SL PRS resources indexed 0, 3, 6, 9; transmitting, by the first UE, SL PRS on one or more SL PRS resources in one subchannel on one slot; If one is used, the SL PRS resources determined according to the correspondence of the index is used without explicit indication in the PSCCH and / or SCI (or the associated indication field is set to a default value); otherwise selecting at least one SL PRS resource among other SL PRS resources other than indexed 0, 3, 6, 9, using the SL PRS resources determined according to the correspondence of index and the selected at least one SL PRS resource, and explicitly indicate the selected at least one SL PRS resource in the PSCCH and / or SCI by the bit field or RNTI.
[0214] Optionally, when a PSCCH resource corresponds to multiple SL PRS resources in the first structure according to preset / configured criteria, and / or when the first UE can select multiple SL PRS resources in a same subchannel of a same slot for transmitting SL PRSs, the method of selecting one or more SL PRS resources by the first UE includes at least one of the following:
[0215] Selecting all of the multiple SL PRS resources corresponding to the PSCCH resource; Optionally, the SL PRS are transmitted on the multiple SL PRS resources with equal power. The advantage of this method is lower complexity and the disadvantage is that the transmission power on each SL PRS resource may be reduced compared to the case where only one SL PRS resource is selected;
[0216] Selecting a SL PRS resource corresponding to the PSCCH resource and determining a transmission power on the resource according to the power control parameter, and if the transmission power does not reach the maximum transmission power of the UE and the PSCCH resource corresponds to N > 1 SL PRS resources, selecting the remaining N-1 SL PRS resources corresponding to the PSCCH resource, and using the remaining transmission power for transmitting SL PRS on the remaining N-1 SL PRS resources; further, the remaining transmission power may be allocated equally over the remaining N-l resources, wherein the remaining transmission power is less than or equal to the difference between the maximum transmission power and the transmission power on the selected one SL PRS resource. Otherwise, only a SL PRS resource corresponding to the PSCCH resource is selected;
[0217] Selecting a SL PRS resource corresponding to the PSCCH resource and the transmission power on the resource is determined according to the power control parameter. If the transmission power does not reach the maximum transmission power of the UE, the next SL PRS resource is selected and the process is repeated until the transmission power reaches the maximum transmission power of the UE. Optionally, if a PSCCH resource corresponds to N > 1 SL PRS resources, the remaining N-l SL PRS resources corresponding to the PSCCH resource are preferentially selected and then other resources are selected. Optionally, in selecting other resources, if there are SL PRS resources in the first structure that do not correspond to any PSCCH based on pre-set / configured criteria (e.g., other SL PRS resources than indexed 0, 3, 6, and 9 in the previous example), the SL PRS resources not corresponding to any PSCCH are preferentially selected. Optionally, in this method, if the total transmission power after the last selection of SL PRS exceeds the maximum transmission power of the UE, then: decreasing the transmission power on the last selected one SL PRS until the total transmission power equal to the maximum transmission power of the UE; or reducing the transmission power on other SL PRS resources except the one SL PRS resource corresponding to the initially selected PSCCH resource until the total transmission power equal to the maximum transmission power of the UE. The advantage of this method is that the transmission power on the first selected SL PRS resource is ensured and utilized as efficiently as possible in the event that the transmission power remains, thereby improving the measurement performance.
[0218] When the PSCCH resource corresponds to multiple SL PRS resources, in the above method, selecting a SL PRS resource to which the PSCCH resource corresponds may be selecting one of the multiple SL PRS resources according to configured / preset criteria, for example, selecting one of the multiple resources having the smallest comb offset.
[0219] Optionally, selecting a SL PRS resource to which the PSCCH resource corresponds may also be based on sensing. For example, the UE performs sensing on multiple SL PRS resources corresponding to the PSCCH resource and selects one of the multiple SL PRS resources for which the corresponding channel interference condition is better, e.g., selects an SL PRS resource that is not indicated as reserved by other UEs in the SCI or a SL PRS resource that is not overlapped with a resource of a future period of the resource that is indicated as reserved by other UEs in the SCI.
[0220] When the UE selects multiple SL PRS resources, the SL PRS resources that cause the transmission power of the UE to reach the maximum transmission power may be selected based on the above method; and / or, select no more than a maximum number of SL PRS resources. For example, the UE does not select any more SL PRS resources when meeting any of the conditions that the selected SL PRS resources cause the transmission power to reach the maximum transmission power and the number of selected SL PRS resources reaches the maximum number. If the maximum number M is smaller than the number of SL PRS resources corresponding to the PSCCH resource N, in the above method, M resources may be selected among the N SL PRS resources randomly or based on preset / configured criteria.
[0221] Wherein the maximum number of SL PRS resources may be pre-set / configured, further may be preset / configured based on priority and / or Channel Congestion Rate, CBR.
[0222] Optionally, when the first structure includes multiple TDM SL PRS resources or a set of TDM SL PRS resources and the number of symbols in the time domain is unequal, the UE selects SL PRS resources includes at least one of:
[0223] Selecting a resource whose number of symbols P = K in the first structure according to the number of SL PRS symbols K in SL PRS parameters provided by higher layer;
[0224] Selecting a resource whose number of symbols P > K in the first structure according to the number of SL PRS symbols K in SL PRS parameters provided by higher layer; further, a repetition of the SL PRS is transmitted over the P-K symbols therein (which may be the last P-K symbols), e.g., the first P-K symbols of the SL PRS are transmitted as repetitions;
[0225] Selecting a resource whose number of symbols P < K in the first structure according to the number of SL PRS symbols K in SL PRS parameters provided by higher layer; further, the first P symbols of SL PRS are transmitted, where P and K are positive integers.
[0226] There may be a preset order of execution between the above methods. For example, the UE preferentially selects resources whose number of symbols as K, and if not, selects resources whose number of symbols greater than K, and if still not, selects resources whose number of symbols less than K. The UE preferentially selects resources whose number of symbols greater than K, and if not, selects resources whose number of symbols less than K
[0227] Optionally, for any of the above types of SL PRS resources whose number of symbols P, the method for the UE to select the resource includes at least one of the following:
[0228] In the resource determination process, the determined candidate resource set includes SL PRS resources of a number of symbols P, excluding SL PRS resources of other symbol lengths;
[0229] In the resource determination process, performing sensing on the SL PRS resources of the number of symbols P in the sensing window, and excluding the candidate resources accordingly; not performing sensing on SL PRS resources of other number of symbols or not using sensing results of SL PRS resources of other symbol numbers.
[0230] Optionally, when a PSCCH resource corresponds to N > 1 SL PRS resources, the method for the UE to select SL PRS resources includes at least one of:
[0231] In the resource determination process, if at least one SL PRS resource among the N SL PRS resources corresponding to a PSCCH resource is excluded, the UE also excludes other resources among the N SL PRS resources and / or excludes all or a subset of the PSCCH resources corresponding to the SL PRS resource. Optionally, when the number of remaining candidate resources in the candidate resource set is lower than a threshold value X * Mtotalafter the exclusion is performed, the method is not performed or the number of PSCCH resources corresponding to the exclusion of the SL PRS resources is reduced;
[0232] In the resource determination process, if the PSCCH resource corresponding a SL PRS resource is excluded, and / or at least U of N SL PRS resources corresponding to the PSCCH resource corresponding to a SL PRS resource are excluded (U is a positive integer greater than or equal to 1), the first SL PRS resource is excluded. Optionally, when the number of remaining candidate resources in the candidate resource set is lower than a threshold value X * Mtotalafter the exclusion is performed, the method is not performed, or the value of U is increased.
[0233] In the above exemplary embodiments, the first UE, as a transmitter UE of SL PRS, obtains first information and determines a physical layer structure (referred to as a first structure) according to the first information, transmits SL PRSs based on the first structure, and possibly other signals / channels such as PSCCH, PSSCH, DMRS, etc. Accordingly, the second UE, as a receiving end UE of the SL PRS, also needs to determine the first structure used by the first UE, receive the SL PRSs based on the first structure, and may also receive other signals / channels such as PSCCH, PSSCH, DMRS, etc.
[0234] In an exemplary embodiment, the second UE obtains the first information, and / or obtains the first information indicated by the first UE in SCI and / or higher layer signaling, determines the first structure based on the first information. Wherein the method for the second UE to obtain the first information and the method for the second UE to determine the first structure based on the first information are similar to the method performed by the first UE, for example, the second UE obtains the first information through UE-specific RRC signaling, resource pool configuration information, preset criteria, or the like; For another example, the second UE determines the physical layer structure of AGC symbols, resources for gaps, SL PRS resources, PSCCH resources, and / or the like in the first structure based on the multiplexing among different signals / channels indicated in the first information, the position and / or size of resources of PSCCH and / or SL PRS (or other sidelink signals / channels), and / or the like. The methods of determining and using the first structure performed by the first UE in the above-described embodiments may each be similarly used for the second UE; But wherein the information related to the transmission power of the first UE, if not indicated to the second UE, may not be used by the second UE as the first information and / or for determining the first structure.
[0235] Further, the second UE may also obtain the second information based on information indicated by the first UE in its higher layer signaling (e.g., inter-UE PC5 RRC configuration information) and / or information indicated in the SCI (e.g., information on the first structure indicated by the first UE in the SCI in the method performed by the first UE), and determine the first structure based on the second information. Further, the second UE obtains the information indicated by the first UE in its higher layer signaling, and / or receives the SCI transmitted by the first UE and obtains the information indicated in the SCI, and determines the first structure according to the second information, including determining the structure of the resource for the corresponding AGC, the resource for the corresponding gap, the PSCCH and / or SL PRS resource, and the like.
