Description

WIRELESS COMMUNICATION METHOD AND RELATED DEVICESTECHNICAL FIELD

[0001] The present application relates to wireless communication technologies, and more particularly, to a wireless communication method, and related devices such as a user equipment (UE) and a base station (BS) (e.g., a gNB) .BACKGROUND ART

[0002] Wireless communication systems, such as the third-generation (3G) of mobile telephone standards and technology are well known. Such 3G standards and technology have been developed by the Third Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) . The 3rd generation of wireless communications has generally been developed to support macro-cell mobile phone communications. Communication systems and networks have developed towards being a broadband and mobile system. In cellular wireless communication systems, user equipment (UE) is connected by a wireless link to a radio access network (RAN) . The RAN includes a set of base stations (BSs) which provide wireless links to the UEs located in cells covered by the base stations, and an interface to a core network (CN) which provides overall network control. The RAN and CN each conducts respective functions in relation to the overall network.

[0003] The 3GPP has developed the so-called Long-Term Evolution (LTE) system, namely, an Evolved Universal Mobile Telecommunication System Territorial Radio Access Network (E-UTRAN) , for a mobile access network where one or more macro-cells are supported by base station knowns as an eNodeB or eNB (evolved NodeB) . LTE is evolving further towards the so-called 5G or NR (new radio) systems where one or more cells are supported by base stations known as a next generation Node B called gNodeB (gNB) .

[0004] The 5G New Radio (NR) standard will support a multitude of different services each with very different requirements. These services include Enhanced Mobile Broadband (eMBB) for high data rate transmission, Ultra-Reliable Low Latency Communication (URLLC) for devices requiring low latency and high link reliability and Massive Machine-Type Communication (mMTC) to support a large number of low-power devices for a long life-time requiring highly energy efficient communication.

[0005] 5G New Radio (NR) supports a wide range of spectrum in different frequency ranges. It is expected that there will be increasing availability of spectrum in the market for 5G Advanced possibly due to re-farming from the bands originally used for previous cellular generation networks. Especially for low frequency FR1 bands, the available spectrum blocks tend to be more fragmented and scattered with narrower bandwidth. For FR2 bands and some FR1 bands, the available spectrum can be wider such that intra-band multi-carrier operation is necessary. To meet different spectrum needs, it is important to ensure that these scattered spectrum bands or wider bandwidth spectrum can be utilized in a more spectral / power efficient and flexible manner, thus higher throughput and decent coverage are provided in the network.

[0006] One motivation is to increase flexibility and spectral / power efficiency on scheduling data over multiple cells including intra-band cells and inter-band cells. The current scheduling mechanism only allows scheduling of single cell PUSCH / PDSCH per scheduling downlink control information (DCI) . With more available scattered spectrum bands or wider bandwidth spectrum, an increasing need of simultaneous scheduling of multiple cells is expected. To reduce the control overhead, it is beneficial to extend from single-cell scheduling to multi-cell PUSCH / PDSCH  scheduling with a single scheduling DCI. Meanwhile, a trade-off between overhead saving and scheduling restriction has to be taken into account.

[0007] UL / DL capacity (e.g., date rate, latency, reliability, etc. ) is one of the key issues in current network. Carrier Aggregation (CA) is one of the suitable ways to improve the UL / DL transmission capacity. In 3GPP Rel-18, it is specified a solution for multi-cell PUSCH / PDSCH scheduling (one PDSCH / PUSCH per cell) with a single DCI. Due to the size increased, the legacy DCI is not suitable for multiple carriers scheduling. A new format of DCI has to be introduced. A trade-off between overhead saving and scheduling flexibility has to be taken into account at first. To decrease the signalling overhead and complexity, some limitations for multiple carrier scheduling have been adopt, for example, the maximum number of co-scheduled carriers (which can also be denoted as Component Carrier (CC) or cell) is limited to 4, the number of PDSCHs or PUSCHs per CC within the multiple CCs is up to one, or Subcarrier Spacing (SCS) is the same for the co-scheduled CCs. However, there are some shortages in some circumstances due to these limitations for the multiple carriers scheduling by a single DCI. Some further enhancements are needed in order to achieve a better capacity, e.g., to have better spectral / power efficiency on scheduling data over multiple cells, to guarantee high reliable transmission with low latency, etc.SUMMARY

[0039] Embodiments of the application are described in detail with the technical matters, structural features, achieved objects, and effects with reference to the accompanying drawings as follows. Specifically, the terminologies in the embodiments of the present application are merely for describing the purpose of the certain embodiment, but not to limit the application.

[0040] In this document, the term " / " should be interpreted to indicate "and / or. " A combination such as “at least one of A, B, or C, ” “one or more of A, B, or C, ” “at least one of A, B, and C, ” “one or more of A, B, and C, ” or “A, B, and / or C” may be A only, B only, C only, A and B, A and 30 C, B and C, or A and B and C, where any combination may contain one or more members of A, B, or C.

[0041] In Rel-18, multiple carriers (which can be denoted as Component Carrier (CC) or cell) scheduled by a single DCI has been agreed, thanks to DCI signaling overhead saving and power saving, where each carrier / cell has up to one PDSCH / PUSCH, three types of DCI fields are defined, denoted as type1, type2 and type3. Type 1 fields are shared between multiple CCs, type2 fields are not shared between multiple CCs, and type3 fields are shared or not shared between multiple CCs, which is based on gNB configuration. In current specification, the maximum DCI size with polar coding is 140 bits (which excludes CRC, e.g., 24bits) . For further enhancing the single DCI scheduling multiple CCs and / or PDSCHs / PUSCHs (i.e., scheduling more CCs and / or more PUSCHs or PDSCHs per CC) to save more signaling overhead and power consumption, the DCI size will also have been increased, as shown in Table 1 below, for example. It can be seen from Table 1 that the total size of a single DCI needed for 2-cell scheduling and 3- cell scheduling are 132bits and 174bits respectively, which are close to or exceed the maximum DCI size in current specification.

[0042] Table 1. DL DCI size for multiple-carrier scheduling

[0043] However, it has been agreed that the legacy limitation on DCI size is maintained. In other words, the maximum size of DCI cannot exceed the budget. Thus, how to reduce the overhead of a DCI used to schedule multiple carriers is needed to be investigated.

[0044] Multi-cell scheduling from FR1s cell to FR2 cells is beneficial to save UE power consumption for PDCCH monitoring, and the combination with multi-slot scheduling can achieve efficient scheduling of multiple FR2 cells having higher SCS than that of FR1 scheduling cells. In addition, the DCI overhead can also be reduced since multiple slots can be scheduled with multiple carriers scheduling simultaneously. In some scenarios, (for example, in a vertical commercial scenario, like Extended Reality (XR) , all of the latency, power consumption, high date rate and low latency are required) , enabling simultaneous multiple CCs scheduling and multiple PUSCHs / PDSCHs scheduling in CA is a suitable way to satisfy such a set of requirements. When simultaneous multiple-carrier scheduling and multiple PUSCHs / PDSCHs scheduling are enabled, how to handle the resource allocation for multiple CCs and multiple PUSCHs / PDSCHs is a problem. In current specification, a single DCI can be used to schedule up to 4 CCs simultaneously in CA, and the time domain resource allocation (TDRA) for each PUSCH / PDSCH per CC is indicated by a code-joint TDRA, which means each row of the TDRA can include one or more TDRA elements, as shown in FIG. 1. If a DCI scheduling 4 CC (CC1, CC2, CC3, CC4) and more than one PUSCHs / PDSCHs per CC is adopted, each PUSCH / PDSCH is determined based on the TDRA field and each row in TDRA includes at least 4 start and length indicator values (SLIVs) . When simultaneous multiple PUSCHs / PDSCHs scheduling and multiple carriers scheduling are enabled, more than one PUSCHs / PDSCHs are carried per CC; however, based on current structure of TDRA, UE doesn’t know the number of scheduled PUSCHs / PDSCHs and corresponding TDRA over multiple CCs. Therefore, some enhancements are needed.

[0045] When a transport block (TB) across multiple CCs is enabled, there will lead to ambiguity between gNB and UE to identify whether the transmission scheduling by a single DCI is for multiple TBs or for a single TB. Thus, how to distinguish a single DCI that schedules multiple TBs or single TB needs to be studied.

[0046] When one aggregated TB is scheduled for multiple DL / UL data channels (PDSCH / PUSCH) on different cells by a single DCI, it can have a reduction on overhead and higher channel coding gain. For example, the overhead of CRC and HARQ-ACK feedback can be reduced. In addition, to reduce the latency, a TB can also repeat on frequency domain. When a TB across multiple CCs is enabled, there will cause ambiguity between UE and gNB to identify whether the transmission is for single TB or for multiple TBs.

[0047] In short, the following issues should be considered:

[0048] - how to handle when the DCI size is over the maximum DCI size limited in current 3GPP specification with polar coding;

[0049] - the resource allocation for the PDSCHs / PUSCHs needs to be re-defined when multiple-carrier scheduling and multiple PUSCHs / PDSCHs scheduling are enabled simultaneously;

[0050] - how to distinguish a single DCI that schedules multiple TBs or single TB.

[0051] FIG. 2 illustrates that, in some embodiments, one or more user equipments (UEs) 10 and a base station (e.g., gNB or eNB) 20 for wireless communication in a communication network system 30 according to an embodiment of the present application are provided. The communication network system 30 includes the one or more UEs 10 and the  base station 20. The one or more UEs 10 may include a memory 12, a transceiver 13, and a processor 11 coupled to the memory 12 and the transceiver 13. The base station 20 may include a memory 22, a transceiver 23, and a processor 21 coupled to the memory 22 and the transceiver 23. The processor 11 or 21 may be configured to implement proposed functions, procedures and / or methods described in this description. Layers of radio interface protocol may be implemented in the processor 11 or 21. The memory 12 or 22 is operatively coupled with the processor 11 or 21 and stores a variety of information to operate the processor 11 or 21. The transceiver 13 or 23 is operatively coupled with the processor 11 or 21, and the transceiver 13 or 23 transmits and / or receives a radio signal. The base station 20 and a next generation core network (5GCN) may also communicate with each other either wirelessly or in a wired way. When the communication network system 30 complies with the New Radio (NR) standard of the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) , the next generation core network is a backend serving network system and may include an Access and Mobility Management Function (AMF) , User Plane Function (UPF) , and a Session Management Function (SMF) . In one aspect, the user equipment 10 can include almost any consumer electronic device or appliance that can connect to a radio access network and a core network for the releases of 3GPP and further, such as, but not limited to NR networks.

[0052] The processor 11 or 21 may include application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC) , other chipset, logic circuit and / or data processing device. The memory 12 or 22 may include read-only memory (ROM) , random access memory (RAM) , flash memory, memory card, storage medium and / or other storage device. The transceiver 13 or 23 may include baseband circuitry to process radio frequency signals. When the embodiments are implemented in software, the techniques described herein can be implemented with modules (e.g., procedures, functions, and so on) that perform the functions described herein. The modules can be stored in the memory 12 or 22 and executed by the processor 11 or 21. The memory 12 or 22 can be implemented within the processor 11 or 21 or external to the processor 11 or 21 in which case those can be communicatively coupled to the processor 11 or 21 via various means as is known in the art. The user plane radio protocol architecture within the gNB and UE is shown in FIG. 3, which includes optional Service Data Adaptation Protocol (SDAP) , Packet Data Convergence Protocol (PDCP) , Radio Link Control (RLC) , Medium Access Control (MAC) . In RAN functional split, a gNB further includes a centralized unit (CU) and a plurality of distributed unit (DUs) as shown in FIG. 4. The protocol stack of CU includes an RRC layer, an optional SDAP layer, and a PDCP layer, while the protocol stack of DU includes an RLC layer, a MAC layer, and a PHY layer. The F1 interface between the CU and DU is established between the PDCP layer and the RLC layer.

[0053] Carrier Aggregation (CA) is one of the suitable ways to improve the UL / DL transmission date rate and decrease the latency. In Rel-18, some enhancements for a single DCI scheduling multiple carrier have been approved; however, some limitations for multiple carrier scheduling have been agreed. Some shortages due to these limitations will be caused for multiple carrier scheduling by a single DCI. Therefore, some further enhancements (e.g., a re-design of control signaling) are needed, and with these enhancements, better spectral / power efficiency, low latency, signaling overhead saving and high reliability will be achieved.

[0054] FIG. 5 illustrates a wireless communication method according to an embodiment of the present application. Referring to FIG. 5 in conjunction with FIG. 2, the method 100 includes the following. In Step 110, The UE receives from the BS or transmit to the BS data (downlink data or uplink data) scheduled over multiple carriers / cells by a single  downlink control information (DCI) , wherein at least one field of the single DCI is shared or referred between the data over multiple co-scheduled carriers / cells. For example, the data can be PDSCH or PUSCH or PUCCH or PRACH or MSG1 MAG3 or RAR or MSG4 or MSG A or MSG B or PDCCH, etc. The at least one field of the single DCI may include a hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) process number (HARQ-ID) field, a redundancy version (RV) field, a frequency domain resource allocation (FDRA) field or a modulation coding scheme (MCS) field, or any combination of them. With the method 100, in addition to better spectral / power efficiency and low latency, signaling overhead is reduced, and high reliability can be achieved.

[0055] In the case the at least one field of the single DCI includes the HARQ-ID field, a reference carrier / cell or a reference physical downlink share channel (PDSCH)  / physical uplink share channel (PUSCH) over a carrier / cell is defined, HARQ-ID corresponding to the reference carrier / cell or the reference PDSCH / PUSCH over the carrier / cell is regarded as a reference HARQ-ID, and the HARQ-ID corresponding to remaining carriers / cells or the PDSCHs / PUSCHs over the remaining co-scheduled carriers / cells is determined based on or is related to the reference HARQ-ID. In an embodiment, the reference carrier / cell or the carrier / cell carrying the reference PDSCH / PUSCH is a scheduling carrier / cell carrying the single DCI. In an embodiment, the reference PDSCH / PUSCH is a first PDSCH / PUSCH among the co-scheduled PDSCHs / PUSCHs or a PDSCH / PUSCH over a carrier / cell with lowest or biggest index, and wherein the first PDSCH / PUSCH means a PDSCH / PUSCH with an earliest starting symbol within the co-scheduled PDSCHs / PUSCHs. In an embodiment, the reference carrier / cell or the carrier / cell carrying the PDSCH / PUSCH is one of the co-scheduled carriers / cells which has a smallest or biggest carrier / cell index. In an embodiment, the HARQ-ID of remaining carriers / cells or PDSCHs / PUSCHs over the remaining multiple co-scheduled carriers / cells is auto-incremented or auto-decremented based on the reference HARQ-ID. An order of the auto-increment or auto-decremented is from small carrier / cell index to large carrier / cell index or from large carrier / cell index to small carrier / cell index. In an embodiment, the HARQ-ID of remaining carriers / cells or PDSCHs / PUSCHs over the remaining multiple co-scheduled carriers / cells is based on or is related to the reference HARQ-ID and a carrier index. In an embodiment, if the HARQ-ID of one of multiple PDSCHs / PUSCHs collides with previous PDSCH / PUSCH transmission over the same carrier, the HARQ-ID of the one of multiple PDSCHs / PUSCHs is altered, and wherein the HARQ-ID of the one of multiple PDSCHs / PUSCHs is altered to be an available HARQ-ID with a lowest or biggest index, or the HARQ-ID of the one of multiple PDSCHs or PUSCHs is altered to be a nearest available HARQ-ID larger than a collided HARQ-ID.

[0056] In the case the at least one field of the single DCI includes the RV field, in an embodiment, RV for the multiple co-scheduled carriers / cells or PDSCHs / PUSCHs over the multiple co-scheduled carriers / cells scheduled by the single DCI is fixed to RV 0 or RV 3. In an embodiment, the RV field for the multiple co-scheduled carriers scheduled by the single DCI is 1 bit, or wherein the size of the RV field is scalable, and scaling the RV field is enabled by a signaling. In an embodiment, if the number of the multiple co-scheduled carriers / cells or PDSCHs / PUSCHs on each of the multiple co-scheduled carriers / cells scheduled by the single DCI exceeds a threshold, the RV field for the multiple co-scheduled carriers / cells or PDSCHs / PUSCHs on each of the multiple co-scheduled carriers / cells scheduled by the single DCI is scaled to 1 bit or RV for the multiple co-scheduled carriers / cells or the PDSCHs / PUSCHs over the multiple co-scheduled carriers / cells is fixed to 0.

[0057] In the case the at least one field of the single DCI includes the FDRA field, in an embodiment, the multiple co-scheduled carriers / cells or PDSCHs / PUSCHs over the multiple co-scheduled carriers / cells are split into more than one groups, each group of the multiple co-scheduled carriers / cells comprises one or more carriers or each group of the PDSCHs / PUSCHs over the multiple co-scheduled carriers / cells comprises one or more PDSCHs / PUSCHs , and the FDRA field is shared by each group of the multiple co-scheduled carriers / cells or each group of the PDSCHs or PUSCHs over the multiple co-scheduled carriers / cells. The multiple co-scheduled carriers / cells or PDSCHs / PUSCHs over the multiple co-scheduled carriers / cells with the same Subcarrier Spacing (SCS) are assigned to the same group.

[0058] In an embodiment, the method further includes receiving a signaling used to indicate whether transmission scheduled by the single DCI is for multiple transport blocks (TBs) or a single TB. The signaling is a radio resource control (RRC) , media access control (MAC) control element (CE) or DCI signaling, or any combination of RRC, MAC CE and DCI. In an embodiment, carrier indicator field (CIF) , time domain resource allocation (TDRA) or transmission configuration indication (TCI) indicates the transmission is for multiple transport blocks (TBs) or a single TB.

[0059] Further details on how to handle when the DCI size is over the maximum DCI size are described as follows.

[0060] This disclosure proposes method (s) to further reduce the size of one or more fields in DCI for a single DCI scheduling multiple carriers. Some fields within a DCI can be shared by a set of carriers. Such fields include at least one of: redundancy version (RV) , frequency domain resource allocation (FDRA) , hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) process number (denoted as HARQ-ID) and modulation coding scheme (MCS) .

[0061] For MCS: When multiple carrier scheduling by a single DCI is used for a data transmission with high reliability and low latency, and date rate is not a key requirement, a low MCS can be used for multiple carriers, e.g., the lowest MCS within the multiple co-scheduled carriers, in order to achieve high reliability and low latency. In other words, the MCS can be shared between multiple co-scheduled carriers. In this way, the size of MCS field is saved. Taking a single DCI scheduling multiple PUSCHs as an example (similar for a single DCI scheduling multiple PDSCHs) , as shown in FIG. 6, a single DCI scheduling 4 carriers, denoted as CC1, CC2, CC3 and CC4, a MCS (MCS i) value is indicated by the DCI, and all of the PUSCHs (PUSCH1, PUSCH2, PUSCH3, PUSCH4) share the same MCS (MCS i) . In this scheme, a signaling is needed to enable the sharing of MCS between multiple PDSCHS or PUSCHs over multiple carriers scheduled by a single DCI.

[0062] For HARQ-ID: A HARQ-ID field in DCI is used to indicate the HARQ-ID of multiple PDSCHs or PUSCHs over multiple carriers (the number of PUSCHs or PDSCHs on each carrier can be one or more than one) . To avoid the ambiguity of HARQ-ID between gNB and UE, especially for the case where re-transmission can get across carrier, an independent HARQ-ID field is needed for indicating the HARQ-ID of PUSCHs or PDSCHs over multiple carriers. However, it will increase signaling overhead. As the number of carriers increase, the situation will become more serious. To handle this issue, a reference carrier or a PUSCH / PDSCH over a carrier can be defined, and corresponding HARQ-ID of the carrier or PDSCH / PUSCH can be regarded as a reference HARQ-ID, and then the HARQ-ID of the remaining carriers or PDSCHs / PUSCHs over the remaining carriers is determined based on the reference HARQ-ID.

[0063] In a first possible solution of the present application, the scheduling carrier (cell or CC) can be regarded as a reference cell, where the scheduling cell means the cell which carries the scheduling DCI. If the DCI is scheduling a  or a set of PDSCHs / PUSCHs on the carrier, the HARQ-ID of the PDSCH / PUSCH or the first PDSCH / PUSCH over the reference cell is indicated by the HARQ-ID field in the DCI, and then the HARQ-ID of the remaining PDSCHs or PUSCHs over multiple carriers are auto-incremented based on the reference HARQ-ID and the auto-increment order is from small CC index to large CC index.

[0064] Taking a single DCI scheduling multiple PUSCHs as an example (similar for a single DCI scheduling multiple PDSCHs) , as shown in FIG. 7, a single DCI scheduling 4 carriers, denoted as CC1, CC2, CC3 and CC4, the HARQ-ID of the PUSCH1 is indicated as 3, and then the HARQ-ID of PUSCH2 is equal to 4 (i.e., 3+1) , the HARQ-ID of PUSCH 3 is equal to 5 (i.e., 4+1) , and the HARQ-ID of PUSCH 4 is equal to 6 (i.e., 5+1) , where each HARQ-ID needs to modulo the number of HARQ processes, and the number of HARQ processes is the total number of HARO processes and it’s based on gNB configuration.

[0065] In some embodiments, the scheduling cell can be regard as reference cell, where the scheduling cell means the cell which is carried the scheduling DCI, if the DCI is scheduling a or a set of PDSCHs / PUSCHs on the reference cell, the HARQ-ID of the PDSCH / PUSCH or first PDSCH / PUSCH over the reference cell is indicated by the field of HARQ-ID in the DCI, then the HARQ-ID of the remaining PDSCH or PUSCH over multiple carriers is auto-increment based on the reference HARQ-ID and the auto-increment order is starting from the reference carriers and cycling within the co-scheduled carriers or the auto-increment order is starting from a carrier carry a PUSCH / PDSCH and cycling within the co-scheduled carriers, where the carrier carry a PUSCH / PDSCH can be any one or all of carrier within the co-scheduled carriers or the nearest carrier index small or large than the reference carrier. Take a single DCI scheduling multiple PUSCHs as an example (a single DCI scheduling multiple PDSCHs is similar. ) , as show in FIG. 8. A single DCI scheduling 4 carriers, denotes as (CC1, CC2, CC3, CC4) , the HARQ-ID of the PUSCH2 is indicated as 3, then the HARQ-ID of PUSCH3 is equal to: 4 (3+1) , the HARQ-ID of PUSCH 4 is equal to: 5 (4+1) , the HARQ-ID of PUSCH 1 is equal to: 6 (5+1) , where each of the HARQ-ID need to modulo the number of HARQ-process, where the number of HARQ-process is the total number of HARO process and it’s based on gNB configuration.

[0066] In some embodiments, the scheduling cell can be regard as reference cell, where the scheduling cell means the cell which carried the scheduling DCI, if the DCI is scheduling a or a set of PDSCHs / PUSCHs on the reference cell, the HARQ-ID of the PDSCH / PUSCH or first PDSCH / PUSCH over the reference cell is indicated by the field of HARQ-ID in the DCI, then the HARQ-ID of the remaining PDSCH or PUSCH over multiple carriers are based on the reference HARQ-ID and the carriers index, we assume the index of reference carrier or the carrier which is carried the reference PDSCH / PUSCH is A, then the HARQ-ID of a PDSCH / PUSCH on carriers index B can be determined based on: reference HARQ-ID + (B-A) . Take a single DCI scheduling multiple PUSCHs as an example (a single DCI scheduling multiple PDSCHs is similar. ) , as show in FIG. 9. A single DCI scheduling 4 carriers, denotes as (CC1, CC3, CC5, CC10) , the HARQ-ID of the PUSCH1 is indicated as 3, then the HARQ-ID of PUSCH2 is equal to: 3+ (3-1) , the HARQ-ID of PUSCH 3 is equal to: 3+ (5-1) , the HARQ-ID of PUSCH 4 is equal to: 3+ (10-1) , where each of the HARQ-ID need to modulo the number of HARQ-process, where the number of HARQ-process is the total number of HARO process and it’s based on gNB configuration.

[0067] In a first possible solution of the present application, all of the co-scheduled carriers which with the smallest CC index can be regarded as a reference cell, the HARQ-ID of the PDSCH / PUSCH or the first PDSCH / PUSCH over the reference cell is indicated by the field of HARQ-ID in the DCI, then the HARQ-ID of the remaining PUSCH / PDSCHs over multiple carriers are auto-increment based on the reference HARQ-ID and the auto-increment order is from small CC index to lager CC index. Each HARQ-ID needs to modulo the number of HARQ-process, where the number of HARQ-process is the total number of HARO processes and it’s based on gNB configuration.

[0068] In some embodiments, all of the co-scheduled carriers or PUSCHs / PDSCHs which with the biggest CC index can be regard as reference cell, the HARQ-ID of the PDSCH or PUSCH over the reference cell is indicated by the field of HARQ-ID in the DCI, then the HARQ-ID of the remaining PUSCH / PDSCHs over multiple carriers are based on the reference HARQ-ID and the carriers index, we assume the index of reference carrier or the carrier which is carried the reference PDSCH / PUSCH is A, then the HARQ-ID of a PDSCH / PUSCH on carriers index B can be determined based on: reference HARQ-ID + (B-A) . Each HARQ-ID needs to modulo the number of HARQ-process, where the number of HARQ-process is the total number of HARO processes and it’s based on gNB configuration.

[0069] In some embodiments, the reference carrier or PUSCH / PDSCH can be pre-defined or fixed or indicated by gNB via RRC or MAC-CE or DCI.

[0070] In some embodiments, when the HARQ-ID of a PUSCH or PDSCH over a carrier collides with other previous PUSCHs or PDSCHs transmission over the same carrier, for instance, as shown in FIG. 10. A DCI scheduling PUSCH 3-0 on CC 3 and the HARQ-ID of the PUSCH3-0 is 5, another DCI scheduling multiple PUSCHs over multiple carriers, PUSCH 1 over CC1, PUSCH 2 over CC2, PUSCH 3 over CC3, PUSCH 4 over CC4, and the reference HARQ-ID IS 3, based on one of the above methods, the HARQ-ID of the PUSCH3 over CC3 is 5, with this case, the UE will be regard the PUSCH 3 with same HARQ-ID with PUSCH 3-0 as a new TB. However, when gNB is not decoding the PUSCH 3-0 correctly, then the Re-transmission of PUSCH 3-0 is needed, when a gNB send a DCI with HARQ-ID 5 for the re-transmission, then UE will be have a wrong understanding of TB, to handle of this, when a HARQ-ID of a PUSCH / PDSCH within multiple PUSCHs / PDSCHs is collided with other previous PUSCH / PDSCH transmission over the same carrier, the HARQ-ID of a PUSCH / PDSCH within multiple PUSCHs / PDSCHs will be changed, and the HARQ-ID of the PUSCH / PDSCH on the same carrier is an available HARQ-ID with lowest or biggest index or the nearest available HARQ-ID large than the collision HARQ-ID.

[0071] For RV: In current 3GPP specification, there are totally 2 bits in DCI used to indicate the RV from a set of {0, 2, 3, 1} , where the bit sequence of index 0 is directed to system bits and it is the most important bit sequence for a transport block (TB) . Thus, the size limitation of DCI can be relaxed. The RV for multiple-carrier scheduling by a single DCI can be fixed as RV 0 for example, or the RV field can be limited into 1 bit, that is, totally 2 RV indexes can be used, e.g., {0, 1} , {0, 2} , {0, 3} , {3, 1} , {3, 2} . A new signaling can be introduced to enable RV field scaling. For instance, RRC, MCA-CE or DCI can be used to enable the RV field scaling. In some embodiments, when a single DCI scheduling more than one carriers, the RV field is scaled, and the RV of the co-scheduled PUSCHs / PDSCHs can be fixed to 0 or the field size of RV can be scaled to 1 bit. In some embodiments, when the number of carriers or multiple PUSCHs / PDSCHs by a single DCI exceeds a threshold, the RV of the co-scheduled PUSCHs / PDSCHs can  be fixed to 0 or the field size of RV can be scaled to 1, where the threshold can be configured by gNB or pre-defined (e.g., 4) .

[0072] For FDRA: The flexibility can be greatly achieved by an independent indication; however, it may cause large overhead and may exceed a maximum size of DCI. In the case of a single DCI scheduling multiple carriers within FR1, if the FDRA field is shared between multiple CCs, the gain in selection of frequency domain will decrease and it will have a negative impact on capacity since the channel H for different CCs within FR1 is different. In the case of a single DCI scheduling multiple carriers within FR2, to overcome the pass loss (PL) for high frequency, multiple narrow beams are used in FR2, and the channel H for different CCs within FR2 will be similar. Thus, it is suitable for the FDRA field to be shared between multiple carriers. When the co-scheduled PUSCHs / PDSCHs over multiple carriers by a single DCI are utilized to maintain the reliability and low latency, the date rate can be relaxed, and in this case the FDRA can be shared between multiple carriers. Based on above analysis, in some cases, FDRA can be shared between multiple carriers which are scheduled by a single DCI, but how to enable this function needs to be studied. Co-scheduled carriers can be split into more than one groups. Each group of the carriers may include one or more carriers, and the FDRA is shared by each group. In other words, the FDRA for multiple carriers in the same group of carriers is same and the FDRA for multiple carriers in different groups of carriers is different. Thus, the total size of the FDRA field of DCI can be reduced. For instance, when a single DCI scheduling 4 carriers (denoted as CC1, CC2, CC3 and CC4) and the 4 carriers are split into 2 groups (denoted as Group1 and Group2) , Group1 includes CC1 and CC2, Group2 includes CC3 and CC4, and then the total number of the FDRA fields can be reduced from 4 to 2. In some embodiments, the co-scheduled carriers with the same SCS can be assigned to the same group. In some embodiments, groups of the carriers can be indicated by gNB through RRC or MAC-CE or DCI signaling.

[0073] FIG. 11 illustrates a wireless communication method according to another embodiment of the present application. Referring to FIG. 11 in conjunction with FIG. 2, the method 200 includes the following. In Step 210, the UE receives and the BS transmits a single downlink control information (DCI) scheduling multiple data over multiple carriers  / cells, each carrier / cell including one or more data, wherein resource allocation of the data on the multiple carriers / cells is determined based on the single DCI. Multiple data over multiple carriers means multiple PUSCHs on multiple cells with one PUSCH per cell. The resource allocation may comprise frequency domain resource allocation, and the frequency domain resource allocation of the data on the multiple carriers / cells is shared per carrier / cell. Alternatively, the resource allocation may comprise time domain resource allocation. With the method 200, in addition to better spectral / power efficiency and low latency, signaling overhead is reduced, and high reliability can be achieved.

[0074] In an embodiment, the single DCI comprises a first TDRA field and a second TDRA field, the first TDRA field is used to indicate the TDRA of a first PDSCH / PUSCH on each of the multiple carriers / cells, and the second TDRA field is used to indicate the TDRA of PDSCH (s)  / PUSCH (s) on each of the multiple carriers / cells except the first PDSCH / PUSCH. The first TDRA field comprises a first TDRA table, and each row of the first TDRA table indicates a set of a slot offset and a start and length indicator or a set of the slot offset, a start symbol and an allocation length for the first PDSCH / PUSCH per carrier / cell. The second TDRA field comprises a second TDRA table, and each row of the second TDRA table indicates at least one set of a slot offset and a start and length indicator or at least one set of the slot offset, a start symbol and an allocation length for the remaining PDSCH (s)  / PUSCH (s) per carrier / cell.

[0075] In an embodiment, the number of PDSCHs / PUSCHs on each of the multiple carriers / cells is indicated. The number of PDSCHs / PUSCHs on different carriers / cells is the same. The number of the PDSCHs / PUSCHs per carrier / cell is indicated by the TDRA. In an embodiment, a set of numbers of the PDSCH / PUSCHs on the multiple carriers are indicated by the TDRA. A one-to-one mapping exists between the set of numbers of the PDSCHs / PUSCHs and indexes of the multiple carriers / cells.

[0076] In an embodiment, the PDSCHs / PUSCHs on the multiple carriers / cells scheduled by the single DCI are allocated based on an order of carrier / cell index and / or time domain. The PDSCHs / PUSCHs on the multiple carriers / cells are allocated based on the carrier / cell index first, and then based on the time domain. In an embodiment, the resources on the multiple carriers / cells scheduled by the single DCI are allocated based on an order of time domain and / or carrier / cell index. The resources on the multiple carriers are allocated based on the time domain first, and then the carrier / cell index.

[0077] Further details on how to re-define resource allocation for PDSCHs / PUSCHs when multiple-carrier scheduling and multiple PUSCHs / PDSCHs scheduling are enabled simultaneously are described as follows.

[0078] This disclosure proposes method (s) to determine the resource allocation for multiple carriers and multiple PUSCHs / PDSCHs per carrier scheduled by a single DCI simultaneously. In current 3GPP specification, each row of a time domain resource allocation (TDRA) table defines a slot offset K2, a start and length indicator SLIV (or directly a start symbol S and an allocation length L) , and PUSCH mapping type. The multiple PUSCHs / PDSCHs located on multiple carriers are indicated by the TDRA table jointly. An RRC can be used to configure the TDRA table, and rows of the TDRA can include more than one SLIVs and K2 or more than one S+L and K2, where K2 is the slot offset, S is the start symbol and L is the allocation length. When the single DCI scheduling multiple carriers and multiple PUSCHs / PDSCHs per carrier is enabled, determination using the TDRA table based on current mechanism is not suitable anymore. In current mechanism, gNB and UE cannot have a unified understanding of TDRA for the multiple PDSCHs or PUSCHs per carrier. At least a TDRA field or some rules to determine the TDRA for the multiple PDSCHs or PUSCHs per carrier can be considered.

[0079] In a first possible solution of the present application, a TDRA field of a DCI which is used to schedule multiple PDSCHs / PUSCHs transmission over multiple carriers can be used. The new TDRA field is used to indicate the TDRA of multiple PDSCHs or PUSCHs on a carrier. The TDRA indicated by a certain part of the TDRA field is used for all of the PDSCHs / PDSCHs except the first one PDSCH / PUSCH on each carrier within the co-scheduled PDSCHs / PUSCHs over multiple carriers. For instance, two TDRA fields can be used to indicate the TDRA for multiple PDSCHs / PUSCHs over multiple carriers. The two TDRA fields are denoted as TDRA field 1 (TDRA1) and TDRA field 2 (TDRA2) . Each TDRA field has a corresponding TDRA table. More than one rows can be included by the TDRA table and each row of the TDRA table can include at least one of K2 + SLIV or K2 + (S+L) . Then the TDRA1 is used to indicate the TDRA of the first PDSCHs / PUSCHs over multiple carriers, and an individual set of K2 and / or SLIVs or an individual set of S+L and / or K2 can be configured in one row of the TDRA table, and each {K2, SLIV} or {K2, S+L} is used to indicate the TDRA of a PDSCH / PUSCH on the carrier, where the carrier index is from small index to large index in order. The TDRA2 is used to indicate the TDRA of the remaining PDSCHs / PUSCHs over the multiple carriers. One or more sets of K2 and / or SLIV or K2 and / or S+L are configured  in one row of the TDRA table and each set of K2 and / or SLIV or K2 and / or S+L is used to indicate the TDRA of each of the remaining PDSCHs / PUSCHs on a carrier. The number of K2 and / or SLIVs or K2 and / or S+L is the remaining number of PDSCHS / PUSCHs on the carrier.

[0080] In a second possible solution of the present application, The TDRA for multiple PDSCHs / PUSCHs over a carrier can be shared by another carrier. The number of PDSCHs / PUSCHs is indicated by gNB. In some embodiments, the number of PDSCHs / PUSCHs on different carriers can be the same. The number of PDSCHs / PUSCHs is indicated via RRC or MAC CE or DCI, or the number of PDSCHs / PUSCHs can be jointly coded with other field, e.g., a column can be added in co-scheduled carrier and in TDRA, and the column is used to indicate the number of PDSCHs / PUSCHs. In some embodiments, the number of PDSCHs / PUSCHs on different carriers can be different. A set of numbers of PDSCHs / PUSCHs are indicated via RRC or MAC CE or DCI, or the set of numbers of PDSCHs / PUSCHs can be jointly coded with other field, e.g., a column can be added in co-scheduled carrier and in TDRA, and the column is used to indicate the set of numbers of PDSCHs / PUSCHs. Each carrier of the co-scheduled carriers has a corresponding number of PDSCHs / PUSCHs. The values of the numbers of PDSCHs / PUSCHs are in an order from small to large, and the order of CC indexes is from small index to large index. There is a one-to-one mapping between the numbers of PDSCHs / PUSCHs and the CC indexes.

[0081] In a third possible solution of the present application, a set of K2 and / or SLIV or K2 and / or S+L or more than one sets of K2 and / or SLIVs or K2 and S+L is configured in a TDRA table, which is used to indicate all of the co-scheduled PDSCHs or PUSCHs over multiple carriers. A mapping rule between a set of K2 and / or SLIV (or a set of K2 and S+L) or more than one sets of K2 and / or SLIVs (or more than one sets of K2 and S+L) and multiple carriers + multiple PDSCHs / PUSCHs (it means a single DCI schedules multiple PDSCHs / PUSCHs over multiple carriers and each carrier includes one or more PDSCHs / PUSCHs) can be carrier first and then PDSCHs / PUSCHs in time domain, or PDSCHs / PUSCHs in time domain first and then carrier.

[0082] Taking a DCI scheduling 4 PUSCHs on 2 carriers and 2 PUSCHs per carrier as an example, when the mapping rule between a set of K2 and / or SLIV (or a set of K2 and S+L) or more than one sets of K2 and / or SLIVs (or more than one set of K2 and S+L) and multiple carriers + multiple PDSCHs / PUSCHs is carrier first, and then PDSCHs / PUSCHs in time domain, as shown in FIG. 12. The first pair value (including both K2 and SLIV) of the sets of K2 and / or SLIVs or the first pair value (including both K2 and S+L) of the sets of K2 and / or S+L is mapped to the first PUSCH (PUSCH1) on the carrier1 (CC1) , the second pair value (including both K2 and SLIV) of the sets of K2 and / or SLIVs or the second pair value (including both K2 and S+L) of the sets of K2 and / or S+L is mapped to the first PUSCH (PUSCH2) on the carrier2 (CC2) , the third pair value (including both K2 and SLIV) of the sets of K2 and / or SLIVs or the third pair value (including both K2 and S+L) of the sets of K2 and / or S+L is mapped to the second PUSCH (PUSCH2) on the carrier1 (CC1) , and the fourth pair value (including both K2 and SLIV) of the sets of K2 and / or SLIVs or the fourth pair value (including both K2 and S+L) of the sets of K2 and / or S+L is mapped to the second PUSCH (PUSCH2) on the carrier2 (CC2) . Alternatively, the first set of pair values (including more than one sets of K2 and SLIV) or the first set of pair values (including more than one sets of K2 and S+L) is mapped to the first set of PUSCHs (PUSCH1 on CC1 and PUSCH2 on CC2) on all of the scheduled carriers from low CC index to high CC index, and the second set of pair values (including more than one sets of K2 and SLIV) or the second set of pair  values (including more than one set of K2 and S+L) is mapped to the second set of PUSCHs (PUSCH3 on CC1 and PUSCH4 on CC2) on all of the scheduled carriers from low CC index to high CC index.

[0083] When the mapping rule between a set of K2 and / or SLIV (or a set of K2 and S+L) or more than one sets of K2 and / or SLIVs (or more than one set of K2 and S+L) and multiple carriers + multiple PDSCHs / PUSCHs is PDSCHs / PUSCHs in time domain first, and then carrier, as shown in FIG. 13. The first pair value (including both K2 and SLIV) of the sets of K2 and / or SLIVs or the first pair value (including both K2 and S+L) of the sets of K2 and / or S+L is mapped to the first PUSCH (PUSCH1) on the carrier1 (CC1) , the second pair value (including both K2 and SLIV) of the sets of K2 and / or SLIVs or the second pair value (including both K2 and S+L) of the sets of K2 and / or S+L is mapped to the second PUSCH (PUSCH2) on the carrier1 (CC1) , the third pair value (including both K2 and SLIV) of the sets of K2 and / or SLIVs or the third pair value (including both K2 and S+L) of the sets of K2 and / or S+L is mapped to the first PUSCH (PUSCH3) on the carrier2 (CC2) , and the fourth pair value (including both K2 and SLIV) of the sets of K2 and / or SLIVs or the fourth pair value (including both K2 and S+L) of the sets of K2 and / or S+L is mapped to the second PUSCH (PUSCH4) on the carrier2 (CC2) . Alternatively, the first set of pair values (including more than one sets of K2 and SLIV) or the first set of pair values (including more than one sets of K2 and S+L) is mapped to the first set of PUSCHs (PUSCH1 on CC1 and PUSCH2 on CC1) , and the second set of pair values (including more than one sets of K2 and SLIV) or the second set of pair values (including more than one sets of K2 and S+L) is mapped to the second set of PUSCHs (PUSCH3 on CC2 and PUSCH4 on CC2) .

[0084] FIG. 14 illustrates a wireless communication method according to still another embodiment of the present application. Referring to FIG. 14 in conjunction with FIG. 2, the method 300 includes the following. In Step 310, the UE receives from the BS and the BS transmits to the UE a signaling used to indicate whether transmission scheduled by the single DCI is for multiple transport blocks (TBs) or a single TB. The signaling may be a radio resource control (RRC) , media access control (MAC) control element (CE) or DCI signaling, or any combination of RRC, MAC CE and DCI. Carrier indicator field (CIF) , time domain resource allocation (TDRA) or transmission configuration indication (TCI) may be used to indicate the transmission is for multiple transport blocks (TBs) or a single TB. With the method 300, in addition to better spectral / power efficiency and low latency, signaling overhead is reduced, and high reliability can be achieved.

[0085] Further details on how to distinguish a single DCI that schedules multiple TBs or single TB are described as follows.

[0086] This disclosure proposes method (s) to distinguish the situations between one TB across multiple carriers and multiple TBs across multiple carriers when a single DCI schedules multiple carriers simultaneously, where the multiple TBs across multiple carriers means a single DCI can schedule multiple PUSCHs / PDSCHs over multiple carriers simultaneously and the PDSCHs / PUSCHs on the carriers belong to different TBs. The aggregated TB (i.e., the one TB across multiple carriers) is scheduled for multiple DL / UL data channels (PDSCHs / PUSCHs) on different cells by a single DCI. It can have overhead reduction and higher channel coding gain. For example, the overhead of CRC and HARQ-ACK feedback can be reduced. When a TB across multiple CCs is enabled, there will be ambiguous between gNB and UE to identify whether the transmission scheduled by the single DCI is for multiple TBs or a single TB.Therefore, an explicit signaling can be introduced to distinguish the multiple TB transmission from the single TB  transmission. For example, the signaling can be an RRC, MAC-CE or DCI signaling. The above signaling can enable the function of one TB across multiple carriers. Alternatively, a new column in carrier indicator field (CIF) or TDRA or transmission configuration indication (TCI) table is added, and 1 bit is used to indicate whether one TB across multiple carriers in enabled or not. For example, a state of “0” or “1” means one TB across multiple carriers is enabled.

[0087] Further details on other aspects of the invention are provided below.

[0088] This disclosure propose method (s) to determine of ROs group or a set of ROs for multiple PRACH transmission. In some embodiments, the ROs groups is determined based on at least one parameter of {candidate multiple PRACH transmissions, candidate of SSBs, a reference RO} or based on combination of parameters of {candidate multiple PRACH transmissions, candidate of SSBs, a reference RO} . In current specification, a single PRACH transmission is enabled, when UE transmit PRACH, a RO will be choose, in this way, the capacity of coverage is very worse in some case, to improve the coverage, multiple PRACH transmissions is enabled, when multiple PRACH transmission is configured (e.g. the candidate multiple PRACH transmissions can be indicated by SIB1) , a set of ROs or a ROs group is defined to avoid the ambiguity between gNB and UEs, however, how to determine the ROs set or ROs group is not defined now, thus, some methods to handle of this issue is needed.

[0089] For shared ROs case, the different size of multiple PRACH transmissions can share the same set of ROs. In this case, the ROs group is determined based on the biggest size or any one or all of size or the combination size of the multiple PRACH transmissions (wherein the different size of multiple PRACH transmission is configured by gNB or determine based on some parameters, e.g. SSB-RSRP (s) ) , furthermore, the ROs group need to include all of the ROs associated to any one or all of a candidate of SSBs, wherein the candidate SSBs is configured by gNB. In some embodiments, the ROs group is from a RO or a reference RO ( (the RO or reference RO can be configured by gNB or can be determined based on candidate size of multiple PRACH transmission or can be determined based on candidate size and / or the end ROs of the previous ROs group in time domain or the reference RO can be the first RO or first valid RO in time domain with the lowest frequency within all of the candidate ROs or valid ROs, where the all of the candidate ROs or valid ROs is configured by gNB) ) associated with a SSB (denote as SSB i) to a set of FDM-ed ROs with the same time domain entity, where the set of FDM-ed ROs associated to a set of SSBs and the set of SSBs within the candidate SSBs except the SSB i can be appeared once. If the one time domain entity with different frequency domain ROs is not enough to map all of the candidate SSBs, then extend to the next time domain entity, until all of the FDM-ed ROs associated candidate SSBs except SSB i can be included once, then extend the ROs group to the time domain, and N or N times number of ROs (The ROs with different time domain entity) associated with any one or all of SSB within the candidate SSBs can be included into the ROs groups, where the N is the largest size or any one or all of size of multiple PRACH transmissions. The remaining ROs within a time and / or frequency duration can be grouped others ROs group based on the same way if the remaining ROs is enough. Where the same time domain means the RO with different frequency domain and same time domain. As show in FIG. 15, we assume the FDM-ed RO (configured by msg1-FDM) of the same time domain is 4, and the candidate number or the number of SSBs is 3 (denote as SSB1, SSB2, SSB3) , one SSB map to one RO (configured by SSB-PerRACH-OccasionAndCB-PreamblesPerSSB) , the candidate size of multiple PRACH transmission is {2, 4, 8} , each a set of SSB (s) associated to a set of RO (s) . With this case, we assume the SSB mapping to RO in order of frequency domain first, then time  domain. Firstly, the frequency domain range (if the value of Msg1-FDM is large than 1) of the RO group need to determine and the frequency domain range of ROs group is include all of the ROs which is associated to different SSBs compared with the associated SSB of the RO, and each of the SSBs (SSB1, SSB2, SSB3) need to appear once. And then extend to ROs with different time domain, the number of ROs with different time domain entity associated to a SSB (e.g. SSB1) is equal to the maximum size of the candidate multiple PRACH transmissions, as a result, the RO group is {RO1, RO2, RO3, RO5, RO6, RO7, RO9, RO10, RO11, RO13, RO14, RO15, RO17, RO18, RO19, RO21, RO22, RO23, RO25, RO26, RO27, RO29, RO30, RO31} , where, SSB1 associated to {RO1, RO7, RO10, RO13, RO19, RO22, RO25, RO31} ; SSB2 associated to {RO2, RO5, RO11, RO14, RO17, RO23, RO26, RO29} ; SSB3 associated to {RO3, RO6, RO9, RO15, RO18, RO21, RO27, RO30} .

[0090] Note: wherein the RO index within a RO group is only a way, and RO index can also be numbered as consecutive number, just like RO1, RO2, RO3, and so on. Similar as the following contents.

[0091] In some embodiments, the ROs group is associated to the ROs with a same SSB index, and a set of ROs group (s) can be included within a time duration, the index of ROs group can be ordered based on the SSB index and the size of the ROs group is equal to the maximum size of candidate multiple PRACH transmissions, wherein the SSB index is the ROs which is associated, the order of SSB index is from low to large. As show in FIG. 15, then ROs group 1 includes {RO1, RO7, RO10, RO13, RO19, RO22, RO25, RO31} ; ROs group 2 includes {RO2, RO5, RO11, RO14, RO17, RO23, RO26, RO29} ; RO group3 includes {RO3, RO6, RO9, RO15, RO18, RO21, RO27, RO30} .

[0092] When more than one consecutive FDM-ed ROs (means the RO with the same time domain and different frequency domain. ) associated to a same SSB within the candidate SSBs. The ROs group is from a RO or a reference RO ( (the RO or reference RO can be configured by gNB or can be determined based on candidate size of multiple PRACH transmission or can be determined based on candidate size and the end ROs of the previous ROs group in time domain or the reference RO can be the first RO in time domain with the lowest frequency within all of the candidate ROs, where the all of the candidate ROs is configured by gNB) ) associated with a SSB (denote as SSBi) to a set of FDM-ed ROs with the same time domain entity, where the set of FDM-ed ROs associated to a set of SSBs (except SSBi) , and the set of SSBs within the candidate SSBs can be appeared once, when met the FDM-ed ROs associated to a same SSB as the previous ROs associated SSB (s) , the corresponding RO (s) need to skip. Then extend the RO groups to the time domain, and N or N times number of ROs (The ROs with different time domain entity) associated with any one or all of SSB within the candidate SSBs can be included into the ROs groups, where the N is the largest size or any one or all of size of multiple PRACH transmissions. The remaining ROs within a time and / or frequency duration can be grouped others ROs group based on the same way if the remaining ROs is enough.

[0093] As show in FIG. 16, we assume the FDM-ed RO (configured by msg1-FDM) of the same time domain is 4, and the actual number or the number of SSB is 2 (denote as SSB1, SSB2) , one SSB map to 2 ROs (configured by SSB-PerRACH-OccasionAndCB-PreamblesPerSSB) , the candidate size of multiple PRACH transmission is {2, 4, 8} , each set of SSB (s) associated to a set of RO (s) . As a result, the RO group is {RO1, RO3, RO5, RO7, RO9, RO11, RO13, RO15, RO17, RO19, RO21, RO23, RO25, RO27, RO29, RO31} , where, SSB1 associated to {RO1, RO5, RO9, RO13, RO17, RO21, RO25, RO29} ; SSB2 associated to {RO3, RO7, RO11, RO15, RO19, RO23, RO27, RO31} .

[0094] In some embodiments, the ROs group is associated to the ROs with a same SSB index, and a set of ROs group (s) can be included within a time duration, the index of ROs group can be ordered based on the SSB index and the size of the ROs group is equal to the maximum size of candidate multiple PRACH transmissions, wherein the SSB index is the ROs which is associated, the order of SSB index is from low to large. Then as show in FIG. 16, where, ROs group1 includes {RO1, RO5, RO9, RO13, RO17, RO21, RO25, RO29} ; ROs group2 includes {RO3, RO7, RO11, RO15, RO19, RO23, RO27, RO31} .

[0095] The ROs group is from a RO or a reference RO ( (the RO or reference RO can be configured by gNB or can be determined based on candidate size of multiple PRACH transmission or can be determined based on candidate size and the end ROs of the previous ROs group in time domain or the reference RO can be the first RO in time domain with the lowest frequency within all of the candidate ROs, where the all of the candidate ROs is configured by gNB) ) associated with a SSB (SSB i) to a set of FDM-ed ROs with the same time domain entity, where the set of FDM-ed ROs associated to a set of SSBs (except SSB i) , and the set of SSBs within the candidate SSBs can be appeared once.

[0096] If the one time domain entity with different frequency domain ROs is not enough to map all of the candidate SSBs, then extend to the next time domain entity, until all of the FDM-ed ROs associated candidate SSBs except SSB i can be included once, then extend the RO groups to the time domain, and N or N times number of ROs (The ROs with different time domain entity) associated with any one or all of SSB index within the candidate SSBs can be included into the ROs groups, where the N is the largest size or any one or all of size of multiple PRACH transmissions. The remaining ROs within a time and / or frequency duration can be grouped others ROs group based on the same way if the remaining ROs is enough. As show in FIG. 17, we assume the FDM-ed RO (configured by msg1-FDM) of the same time domain is 4, and the actual number or the number of SSB is 2 (denote as SSB1, SSB2) , one SSB map to 2 ROs (configured by SSB-PerRACH-OccasionAndCB-PreamblesPerSSB) , the candidate size of multiple PRACH transmission is {2, 4, 8} , each set of SSB (s) associated to a set of RO (s) . As a result, the RO group is {RO1, RO2, RO5, RO6, RO9, RO10, RO13, RO14, RO17, RO18, RO21, RO22, RO25, RO26, RO29, RO30} , where, SSB1 / 2 associated to {RO1, RO5, RO9, RO13, RO17, RO21, RO25, RO29} ; SSB3 / 4 associated to {RO3, RO7, RO11, RO15, RO19, RO23, RO27, RO31} .

[0097] In some embodiments, a set of preamble sequences are used for multiple PRACH transmissions, each set of preamble sequence associated to a size of multiple PRACH transmissions.

[0098] Where, SSB1 / 2 means SSB 1and SSB2, SSB3 / 4 means SSB3 and SSB4.

[0099] For separate ROs case, multiple PRACH transmissions with different numbers are transmitted on separate ROs, the ROs group is determined based on the all candidate size or the total size (e.g. if the candidate size of multiple PRACH transmissions is {2, 4} , then the total size is 6 (2+4 = 6) ) of the multiple PRACH transmissions and / or in order from the small size to large size or from the large size to small size. Furthermore, the ROs group need to include all of the ROs associated to any one or all of SSBs within a candidate of SSBs, wherein the candidate SSBs is configured by gNB.

[0100] As show in FIG. 18, we assume the FDM-ed RO (configured by msg1-FDM) of the same time domain is 4, and the actual number or the number of SSB is 3 (denote as SSB1, SSB2, SSB3) , one SSB map to one RO (configured by SSB-PerRACH-OccasionAndCB-PreamblesPerSSB) , the candidate size of multiple PRACH transmission is {2, 4} ,  each a set of SSB (s) associated to a set of RO (s) . With this case, we assume the SSB mapping to RO in order of frequency domain first, then time domain. Firstly, the frequency domain range (if the value of Msg1-FDM is large than 1) of the RO group need to determine and the frequency domain range of ROs group is from a RO to all of the ROs which is associated to the candidate SSBs except the associated SSB of the RO, and the ROs associated with each of or all of the SSBs (SSB1, SSB2, SSB3) need to appear once. And then extend to ROs with different time domain, the number of ROs with different time domain entity associated to a SSB (e.g. SSB1) or all of the SSB within the candidate SSBs is equal to the total size of the candidate multiple PRACH transmissions (e.g. if the candidate size of multiple PRACH transmissions is {2, 4} , then the total size is 6 (2+4 = 6) ) . As a result, the ROs group is {RO1, RO2, RO3, RO5 , RO6, RO7, RO9 , RO10, RO11, RO13, RO14, RO15, RO17, RO18, RO19, RO21, RO22, RO23} ; SSB 1 is associated to {RO1, RO7, RO10, RO13, RO19, RO22} ; SSB 2 is associated to {RO2, RO5, RO11, RO14, RO17, RO23} ; SSB 3 is associated to {RO3, RO6, RO9, RO15, RO18, RO21} . In some embodiments, the RO group can split into more than one sub-groups of ROs, each sub-group of ROs associated to a size of multiple PRACH transmissions, the mapping order is from low size of multiple PRACH transmission to large size of multiple PRACH transmission, e.g. for SSB1, {RO1, RO7} can consist a sub-group, {RO10, RO13, RO19, RO22} can consist a sub-group.

[0101] As show in FIG. 19, we assume the FDM-ed RO (configured by msg1-FDM) of the same time domain is 4, and the actual number or the number of SSB is 3 (denote as SSB1, SSB2, SSB3) , one SSB map to one RO (configured by SSB-PerRACH-OccasionAndCB-PreamblesPerSSB) , the candidate size of multiple PRACH transmission is {2, 4} , each a set of SSB (s) associated to a set of RO (s) . With this case, we assume the SSB mapping to RO in order of frequency domain first, then time domain. Firstly, the frequency domain range (if the value of Msg1-FDM is large than 1) of the RO group need to determine and the frequency domain range of ROs is from a RO (RO i) to all of the ROs which is associated to different SSBs except the SSB associated with RO i, and each of the SSB (SSB1, SSB2, SSB3) need to appear once. As a result, the ROs group is {RO1, RO3, RO5, RO7, RO9, RO11, RO13, RO15, RO17, RO19, RO21, RO23} ,

[0102] In some embodiments, the RO group can split into more than one sub-groups of ROs, each sub-group of ROs associated to a size of multiple PRACH transmissions, the mapping order is from low size of multiple PRACH transmission to large size of multiple PRACH transmission.

[0103] In some embodiments, the ROs group is associated to the ROs with a same SSB index, and a set of ROs group (s) can be included within a time duration, the index of ROs group can be ordered based on the SSB index and size of multiple PRACH transmissions, and the size of the ROs group is equal to the total size of candidate multiple PRACH transmissions, wherein the SSB index is the ROs which is associated, the order of SSB index and / or the size of multiple PRACH transmissions is from low to large. Then as show in FIG. 19, where, ROs group1 includes {RO1, RO5} ; ROs group2 includes {RO3, RO7} ; ROs group3 includes {RO9, RO13, RO17, RO21} ; ROs group 4 includes {RO11, RO15, RO19, RO23} ;

[0104] In some embodiments, the ROs group index ordered can be SSB index first, then size of multiple PRACH transmission (e.g. ROs group 1 {RO1, RO5} , ROs group 3 {RO9, RO13, RO17, RO21} , ROs group 2 {RO3, RO7} , ROs group 4 {RO11, RO15, RO19, RO23} ) or size of multiple PRACH transmission first, then SSB index (e.g. ROs group 1 {RO1, RO5} , ROs group 2 {RO9, RO13, RO17, RO21} , ROs group 3 {RO3, RO7} , ROs group 4 {RO11, RO15, RO19, RO23} ) .

[0105] As show in FIG. 20, we assume the FDM-ed RO (configured by msg1-FDM) of the same time domain is 4, and the actual number or the number of SSB is 3 (denote as SSB1, SSB2, SSB3) , one SSB map to one RO (configured by SSB-PerRACH-OccasionAndCB-PreamblesPerSSB) , the candidate size of multiple PRACH transmission is {2, 4} , each a set of SSB (s) associated to a set of RO (s) . With this case, we assume the SSB mapping to RO in order of frequency domain first, then time domain. Firstly, the frequency domain range (if the value of Msg1-FDM is large than 1) of the RO group need to determine and the frequency domain range of ROs group is from a RO to all of the ROs which is associated to different SSBs except the associated SSB of the RO (RO i) , and each of the SSBs (SSB1, SSB2, SSB3) need to appear once. And then extend to ROs with different time domain and same frequency domain, the number of ROs with different time domain entity associated to a SSB (e.g. SSB1) or all of the SSB within the candidate SSBs is equal to the total size of the candidate multiple PRACH transmissions (e.g. if the candidate size of multiple PRACH transmissions is {2, 4} , then the total size is 6 (2+4 = 6) ) . As a result, the ROs group is {RO1, RO3, RO5, RO7, RO9, RO11, RO13, RO15, RO17, RO19, RO21, RO23} ,

[0106] In some embodiments, the RO group can split into more than one sub-groups of ROs, each sub-group of ROs associated to a size of multiple PRACH transmissions, the mapping order is from low size of multiple PRACH transmission to large size of multiple PRACH transmission.

[0107] In some embodiments, the mapping rule between SSBs and ROs can be:

[0108] - First, in increasing order of preamble indexes within a single or a set of PRACH occasions in time domain.

[0109] - Second, in increasing order of frequency resource indexes for frequency multiplexed PRACH occasions based on the set / group of PRACH occasions in time domain.

[0110] - Third, in increasing order of time resource indexes for time multiplexed PRACH occasions within a PRACH slot and or multiple PRACH slots based on the set / group of PRACH occasions in time domain.

[0111] - Fourth, in increasing order of indexes for PRACH slots based on the set / group of PRACH occasions in time domain.

[0112] Or

[0113] First, in increasing order of preamble indexes within a set of PRACH occasions in time domain

[0114] Second, in increasing order of frequency resource indexes for frequency multiplexed a set of PRACH occasions in time domain

[0115] Third, in increasing order of time resource indexes for time multiplexed a set of PRACH occasions in time domain within a PRACH slot or PRACH slots

[0116] Where a set RACH occasion in time domain means the set of ROs with different time domain entity. In some embodiments, the multiple PRACH transmission over separate preamble on shared ROs or separate  ROs based on gNB indication, e.g. gNB can be indicated the whether multiple PRACH transmission over separate preamble on shared ROs or separate ROs by SIB1.

[0117] This disclosure propose method (s) to indicate the candidate size of multiple PRACH transmissions by gNB or to determine the size of multiple PRACH transmissions based on a set of parameters. For multiple PRACH transmissions, the candidate size of multiple PRACH transmissions can be {2, 4, 8} , so the total candidate combination are {2} , {4} , {8} , {2, 4} , {2, 8} , {4, 8} , {2, 4, 8} , total 7 types. However, how to indicate all of the candidate value of multiple PRACH transmission is not decide yet, thus, design some methods to indicate the candidate value of multiple PRACH transmission is needed.

[0118] In a first possible implementation, a table can be used to define the candidate of the multiple PRACH transmissions, and / or the corresponding index of the table can be indicated by SIB1 or other system information or MIB or by a field within SIB1 or other system information or MIB, as show in Table 2, a field within SIB1, other system information or MIB is used to indicate the index of table, then corresponding candidate size of multiple PRACH transmissions is indicated. E. g. 3 bits in SIB1 used to indicate the candidate multiple PRACH transmission, when the field is indicated as “6” , then the candidate size of multiple PRACH transmission is {2, 4, 8} ;

[0119] Table 2. Candidate size of multiple PRACH transmissions

[0120] In a second possible implementation, the size of the multiple PRACH transmissions can be determined based on the number of ROs associated with the same SSB and different time domain entity within a ROs group, where the ROs group includes more than one ROs.

[0121] In a third possible implementation, the size of the multiple PRACH transmissions can be determined based on the table of Random access configurations (defined in 38.211) , a column can be added into the table of Random access configurations, which is used to indicate the candidate value of multiple PRACH transmissions, any one or all of or any combination of {2, 4, 8} can be indicated.

[0122] In a fourth possible implementation, a table can be used to define the candidate of the multiple PRACH transmissions, and / or the corresponding index of the table can be indicated by SIB1 or other system information or MIB, as show in Table 3, a field within SIB1, other system information or MIB is used to indicate the index of table, then a corresponding size of multiple PRACH transmissions is indicated, with this way, the size is the maximum size of multiple PRACH transmissions, and the size of multiple PRACH transmissions which is small than the  corresponding size of multiple PRACH transmission is also indicated. E. g. 2 bits in SIB1 used to indicate the candidate multiple PRACH transmission, when the field is indicated as “0” , then the candidate size of multiple PRACH transmission is {2} ; when the field is indicated as “1” , then the candidate size of multiple PRACH transmission is {4, 2} ; when the field is indicated as “2” , then the candidate size of multiple PRACH transmission is {8, 4, 2} , and so on.

[0123] Table 3. Candidate size of multiple PRACH transmissions

[0124] This disclosure propose method (s) to indicate the starting point of RO within a ROs group. When a ROs group is determined, then the size and range in time / frequency of the ROs group is also determined, include multiple ROs with different or same time / frequency domain, if every location of a RO can be used as a starting point, the gNB need to blind decoding of per candidate position, thus, high complexity will be caused at gNB, thus, to handle of this issue, some limitation will be determined. One of the suitable way is to limit the starting point in time domain and the starting point is determined based on the size of multiple PRACH transmissions, e.g. the starting point in time domain (the granularity is based on RO or times of RO) of the each size of multiple PRACH transmission is located on the position of A, where A need to satisfy: (A) mod (size of multiple PRACH transmission) = 0 or (A-1) mod (size of multiple PRACH transmissions) = 0, where the size of multiple PRACH transmission can be {2, 4, 8} .

[0125] In some embodiments, the starting point in time domain (the granularity is based on RO or times of RO) of the each size of multiple PRACH transmission is located on the position of A, where A need to satisfy: (A) mod (size of multiple PRACH transmission) = 0 or (A-1) mod (size of multiple PRACH transmissions) = 0, and the number of ROs with different time domain entity is equal to the size of multiple PRACH transmissions, where the ROs with same or different frequency resource.

[0126] In some embodiments, the starting point in time domain of each size of multiple PRACH transmission is based on the size of multiple PRACH transmissions and / or the associated SSB index.

[0127] This disclosure propose method (s) to indicate the un-used TO (transmission occasion) within a CG (configured Grant) configuration or a set of CG configurations. To match the XR service, multiple TOs are configured to a CG configuration which used for a single or multiple TB (s) (Transport Block) . A fixed value of time offset can be defined based on a reference TOs (the Reference TO can be a TO which is carried a UCI, where the UCI is used to indicate the un-used TOs within CG configuration (s) ) within a CG configured, and the granularity of the time offset can be times of TO duration or times of slot or times of symbol or time of ms. In some embodiments, a UCI (UCI carried by PUCCH or UCI piggyback on PUSCH or UTO-UCI) can be used to indicate the un-used (The configured TOs which is not used for data transmission) TOs within a or a set of CG configurations, the valid size (means the size within a UCI which is used to indicate the un-used TOs) is associated with the transmission location of the UCI and / or the valid size is associated with the remaining TOs within a / a set of CG configurations, wherein the remaining TOs is  from a reference TO to the end TO within a / a set of CG configuration (s) , where the reference TO is a TO next to a TO which is carried the UCI or the reference TO is a TO which is has a time offset based on a TO which is carried the UCI, where, the time offset can be fixed or indicate by gNB, and the granularity of the time offset can be times of TO duration or times of slot or times of symbol or time of ms.
