Description

[0001]

[0002] The present invention relates to a reusable display container for the transport, storage and in particular the display of objects, in particular food, foodstuffs and similar goods according to the preamble of claim 1. Furthermore, the invention comprises a system comprising a reusable display container and a lid according to the preamble of claim 15 and a lid for the reusable display container according to the preamble of claim 16. In addition, the present invention relates to a system comprising a first blank for producing the designated reusable display container according to the preamble of claim 19, a blank for a reusable display container according to the preamble of claim 21, a blank for a lid according to the preamble of claim 22 and a method for unfolding the reusable display container according to the preamble of claim 23.Furthermore, a system for the production, return and reintroduction of reusable display containers according to claims 28 and 30 is claimed.

[0003] For the distribution and offering of goods, such as food, sales and display containers are already known, in which these goods can be used both for the purpose

[0004] 1

[0005] REPLACEMENT SHEET (RULE 26) for storage as well as for promotional display and sale. The above-mentioned goods are usually sold loose or grouped together in packaging units. The sales and display containers, which are used in particular in self-service sales, must therefore be adapted accordingly. The spectrum of sales and display containers used ranges from simple, tub-shaped containers, which are referred to as so-called bulk containers, to shelf or hanging systems in which the goods are arranged, for example, in various shafts on an inclined plane, so that when the goods are removed, the goods arranged behind them slide down. The corresponding goods are always offered visibly at the front. A display opening is usually provided for this purpose on at least one wall.

[0006] Conventional display containers are primarily made of cardboard or paperboard. For example, cardboard packaging is typically provided for retail use to display goods. With this standard cardboard packaging, an unpacker removes a film wrapping after transport in the store in the case of a partially open cardboard packaging, or tears off a packaging section, often marked with cut lines (usually partially perforated for easy tearing), in the case of a fully closed packaging, to reveal a wall-side display opening and usually also an access opening on the top of the display-capable transport packaging. The access opening on the top can also form a display opening and be provided instead of the wall-side display opening.

[0007] A major disadvantage of disposable display containers is their poor environmental impact. Since the cardboard or paperboard is no longer usable as a display box after one intensive use (scratched, bent, destroyed), it is either disposed of in the general waste or recycled. Disposal with waste paper is only possible for clean cardboard boxes. Food-contaminated display boxes are sorted out by the recycler and regularly end up in the general waste.

[0008] Another disadvantage is the laborious process of flattening the display cardboard. Due to the often adhesive joints on the corners and bottom, the cardboard must be pressed into a flat state in several steps. Typically, the display cardboard is thrown onto the floor and stomped on with the feet to flatten it as much as possible. This is time-consuming and therefore not cost-effective.

[0009] Furthermore, there is no orderly return process for conventional cardboard display containers to the manufacturer. Instead, they are passed on as waste and, at best, returned to a recycling process as waste paper. Cardboard display containers are not suitable as reusable containers. In addition, such cardboard display containers are not stable; particularly when exposed to moisture, they are at risk of softening, causing the goods to fall out during transport, storage, or even display.

[0010] It is therefore the object of the following invention to provide a reusable display container (also simply referred to as a "display box" or abbreviated as "container") that can replace conventional disposable display containers made of cardboard, in particular corrugated cardboard or corrugated board. This repeatedly reusable display box should be made of a material that can make a significant contribution to the circular economy and decarbonization while at the same time not increasing the costs per use compared to conventional disposable display boxes. Above all, a large number of cycles with one and the same reusable display container between the seller and the customer should be ensured, and the return transport should be quick and easy.

[0011] Furthermore, a reusable display container should be provided that is versatile, easy to handle, especially when folded quickly and repeatedly, robustly constructed, and easy to manufacture. It should also be easy to clean, especially with water and / or detergents, suitable for use with food in its unpackaged state, and reusable multiple times.

[0012] Another objective is to provide a reusable display container in which the merchandise on offer can be stored clearly. Furthermore, the display container should allow for easy removal of the items contained within the container and also allow for a sufficient inspection of the merchandise. Furthermore, the sales and display container must be simple and cost-effective to manufacture and operate, meaning it is easy for both the customer to remove the merchandise and the sales staff to refill it.

[0013] This object is achieved by a reusable display container for the transport, storage and in particular the display of objects according to claim 1, a system comprising a reusable display container and a lid according to claim 15, a lid for the reusable display container according to claim 16, a system comprising a first blank for producing the designated reusable display container according to claim 19, a blank for a reusable display container according to claim 21, a blank for a lid according to claim 22 and a method for unfolding the reusable display container according to claim 23. Furthermore, this object is achieved by a system for the production, return and reintroduction of reusable display containers according to claims 28 and 30. Advantageous embodiments are the subject of the subclaims.

[0014] According to a first aspect of the invention, a reusable display container for the transport, storage, and display of objects is provided, comprising a foldable display box consisting of a base and four wall sections arranged on the base. The reusable display container is suitable for packaging machines, does not have a complicated, non-durable hook-and-loop fastener, and is characterized by a simple folding into the unfolded final position (goods transport and / or goods storage position). The reusable display container is preferably formed in one piece.

[0015] Two wall sections, hereinafter referred to as longitudinal sections or longitudinal wall sections, partially form longitudinal side walls which, when the container is unfolded, are arranged upright and parallel to one another, so that a storage area for the goods is provided on the intermediate base while simultaneously securing them laterally against slipping. At their base end, the longitudinal wall sections are foldably connected to the base via a fold, preferably over the entire length of the base. Each of the two longitudinal wall sections forms a securing tab at its end remote from the base. The securing tab starts at the end of the longitudinal side wall remote from the base. Each of the longitudinal sections therefore forms one of two opposite longitudinal side walls, each with a securing tab and expediently a fold line which spaces the longitudinal side wall from the securing tab.In each fold, between the securing tab and the long side wall, there are preferably at least two, particularly preferably groove-like receptacles. In the unfolded state of the reusable display container, the securing tab projects freely upwards, over the upper edge of the container, and can be folded or folded into the interior of the container so that the free end of the securing tab points vertically downwards, towards the container base, in the folded state. Fastening means, expediently in the form of locking lugs, are preferably provided on the edges of the securing tab facing the end of the container, with which fastening means the securing tab can be fastened to an adjacent end wall in its folded state, thus transferring the reusable display container into a stable state for filling and / or transporting goods and / or displaying goods. The securing tab preferably has a height which is at least, preferably.1 Zs corresponds to a height of the long side wall.

[0016] The two remaining wall sections, hereinafter referred to as end sections and end wall sections, form two opposite end side walls, on which first and second folding tabs are provided. At their bottom end, the end wall sections are foldably connected to the bottom via a fold, preferably across the entire width of the bottom. Preferably, the first and second folding tabs together form a non-regular pentagonal shape comprising a first, second and third right-angled corner and a fourth and fifth corner, each with an angle of 135°. In this case, a connecting line particularly preferably runs centrally between the fourth and fifth corners as a diagonal to the second corner, forming an axis of symmetry of the first and second folding tabs. Each end side wall of a wall section is expediently provided on each of its side edges orThe side edges (i.e., not the top and bottom edges) are foldably connected to the first folding flap via a first fold. In the fully unfolded final position (goods transport state, display state, or goods storage state) of the display container, the side walls form a wall surrounding the bottom, which is preferably closed.

[0017] This wall is expediently or preferably provided with at least one display opening. However, this is not absolutely necessary, since the container's open top, i.e., the access opening, also allows for display of the goods once any optional lid has been removed.

[0018] The display opening is preferably provided in one of the wall sections, preferably one of the wall sections at the front of the container. It is essential that the wall sections remain part of the wall that runs around the base, and that none of the wall sections rests on the base in the fully folded, final position of the display container. The reusable display container according to the invention is formed from a hollow-wall sheet or a hollow-wall sheet with at least one corrugated intermediate layer between two outer layers or a dimpled structure plate.

[0019] Particularly in the corner areas, the reusable display container according to the invention is significantly reinforced compared to other display containers due to the first and second folding flaps and the resulting multiple material layers. Containers are typically particularly susceptible to compression, kinks, tears, stress whitening, or similar damage, especially in the corners, so this is a significant advantage. The additional securing flap on the long side walls also stabilizes the upper edge of the display container in the fully folded position (goods transport, display, or storage).Especially in the open, ready-to-pack state, the display container is ideally equipped for filling with goods or removing them, as the vulnerable upper container area, particularly the container area around the access opening, is designed as a kind of double wall thanks to the double layer of material on the long sides and the inwardly folded securing tab. The interaction of the first and second folding tabs, which together form a double layer of material in the fully folded state of the reusable display container, and the securing tab overlapping this double layer, results in the production of a multi-walled container in the main load areas (primarily the corner areas and the upper edge around the access opening), which is more durable than conventional display containers due to its outstanding stability. With the first and second folding flaps folded toward each other and the longitudinal side wall of the container, a three-layer wall is formed in the corner area, which contributes significantly to stability. Furthermore, the securing flap is expediently arranged over the folded first and second folding flaps and rests on them in the final position. Fastening means, preferably a locking lug on each side edge, are preferably provided on the two opposite lateral edges of the securing flap, which face the end walls of the container in the unfolded position.Due to the fastening means, which protrudes to the side and engages in a complementary receptacle on the adjacent end wall as soon as the reusable display container is fully folded, the folding of the first and second folding flaps is secured in a final folding position, but also the final position of the container in the upright goods transport position, goods display position or goods storage position.

[0020] The double wall formed by the securing tab and the long side wall in the longitudinal section of the container not only contributes to greater stability in the upper area of the long side wall, but also forms a stacking support for stacking several reusable display containers on top of each other. This is due to the fold line between the long side wall and the securing tab, which forms a correspondingly wide support surface on its outer surface. This is due to the wide fold between the securing tab and the long side wall, which has a width corresponding to a thickness of at least two material layers (the width of this fold is referred to further below in the blank as height H3). The width of the stacking support also results from the need for the securing tab to grip over the first and second folding flaps when the container is fully folded.

[0021] The base area of the second folding flap is expediently mirror-symmetrical to the first folding flap and is foldably connected to the first folding flap via a second fold. According to a first exemplary embodiment of the invention, the reusable display container is formed from a dimpled structure plate, preferably made of plastic. The plate is a flat structure that can be curved or bent flat, like a rigid cardboard layer. The dimpled structure plate is characterized by at least two so-called cover layers, which are preferably made of polypropylene. The two cover layers form outer layers, a first outer layer and a second outer layer, between which a type of bubble-shaped core is enclosed. Expediently, the dimpled structure plates are extruded from two polypropylene cover layers and a core made of bubble-shaped polypropylene. The polypropylene bubbles can be circular, oval, diamond-shaped, or elongated structures that connect the two cover layers.Other shapes are possible. The structures are expediently arranged at equal distances from one another. The cover layers are thus connected to one another by an internal dimple structure, which forms the core of the panel. The first outer layer can form the outer side of a blank and thus essentially the outer side of the container. The second outer layer can form the inner side of a blank and thus essentially the inner side of the container. The cover layers are expediently designed as a film or foil, preferably as an injection-molded polypropylene carrier film.

[0022] The dimpled structure panel is advantageously stable in any direction and easy to process. After prior processing (grooving, punching, milling), it can be easily folded or bent. It is equally stable in every direction and can therefore be cut into any shape. It absorbs impacts and vibrations particularly well compared to hollow-wall panels with a corrugated intermediate layer or hollow-wall multi-wall panels. Compared to other hollow-wall panels, the dimpled structure panel exhibits higher bending resistance and greater compressive stress. This means that stress whitening, which occurs when plastics are subjected to high or excessive stress during processing or as a result of deformation and cracks develop, can be almost entirely or completely avoided.

[0023] The surface of the cover layers can be designed in different ways. This can mean that the colors of the two cover layers differ from one another, or that the cover layers can be glossy, matte, smooth, rough, or even vary from one another. For example, the first outer cover layer can be blue and the second cover layer green. This creates particularly impressive aesthetic effects. Customers can use this design to display a company logo and / or company colors. It is also possible to design the surface of one or both cover layers to make label removal easier. For example, the cover layer on the outside of the container, or the first outer layer, can be silicone-coated to make label removal easier. In this case, the first outer layer forms the outside and not the inside of the container. It is also possible to design the surface of one or both cover layers to improve label adhesion.Alternatively, a rough surface can be chosen, which allows for easier removal of a label.

[0024] The second embodiment is formed according to the invention from a hollow-core sheet or a hollow-core sheet with at least one corrugated intermediate layer between two outer layers. Here, too, the sheet is a flat structure, capable of being curved or bent flat, like a rigid cardboard layer.

[0025] The hollow-wall sheet is characterized by the fact that it forms connecting webs between two smooth outer layers of material, in a manner that mimics common single-wall disposable cardboard display containers, except that the material is not cardboard or paperboard but a preferably synthetic or semi-synthetic polymer, particularly preferably a plastic, in particular polypropylene. The hollow-wall sheet has two smooth outer layers with webs arranged vertically between them at equal spacing and parallel to one another, forming hollow chambers as elongated hollow channels.

[0026] The so-called alternative hollow chamber panel of the second embodiment is formed from two smooth outer layers and at least one single-wave intermediate layer and can also be formed from the said material.

[0027] The at least one single-wave inner layer is sandwiched between the two outer layers, with its opposing wave tips abutting the outer layer and advantageously being adhesively bonded or welded there. Together with the outer layers, the single-wave inner layer also forms elongated hollow channels. In addition to the wave-shaped inner layer, another wave-shaped inner layer can be provided, optionally with a smooth intermediate layer located between the two wave-shaped inner layers, so that a smooth outer layer is followed by a single-wave inner layer, then the smooth intermediate layer, then another single-wave inner layer, and then a smooth outer layer. This results in a double-wave hollow-core panel.

[0028] Alternatively, the dimpled structural panel, hollow-wall panel, or hollow-wall panel with a corrugated intermediate layer can be made of bio-based polymers or biodegradable polymers. Combinations are, of course, conceivable. The bio-based polymers can be made entirely or partially from renewable raw materials.

[0029] Advantageously, the thickness of the plates of all described embodiments is approximately between 0.5 and 8 mm, preferably 0.5 to 6 mm, particularly preferably 0.5 to 3 mm.

[0030] Due to the special material of the reusable display container according to the second embodiment, its external appearance is almost identical to the conventional display containers made of corrugated cardboard or corrugated board in the disposable system that are widely accepted by consumers and mail order companies. At the same time, the handling during packing, unpacking, and repacking is very similar.

[0031] In terms of weight, the dimpled structural panel according to the first and the hollow-wall panel according to the second embodiment of the invention, or the alternative hollow-wall panel with at least one corrugated intermediate layer, is lighter than a comparably stiff cardboard layer. Due to the material, a corrugated or hollow-wall panel or dimpled structural panel made of plastic allows for faster and easier folding of the container into an upright or folded state. This is because the outer layers of the hollow-wall panel or hollow-wall panel or the cover layers of the dimpled structural panel, particularly when made of polypropylene, have such a smooth surface structure that the folded container surfaces slide along one another with much less friction than with comparable display containers made of corrugated cardboard or corrugated board. Thus, the reusable display container according to the invention is extremely easy to erect and fold, and at the same time can be transported back with reduced volume, in such a way that it can be transported back to a collection point integrated into a network, which expediently has a collection container equipped for insertion, or to the mail order company itself, lying flat with the wall and base elements and any hinged lid elements lying completely horizontal, without damage or destruction and without unnecessary air spaces (except for those in the hollow chamber areas).

[0032] The economic rationale isn't self-evident. The world of display containers in retail display of goods and many other areas is currently dominated by disposable display materials. However, recycling is cheaper than manufacturing new display containers, yet this seemingly obvious principle is never applied in practice.

[0033] The advantage of the special material, which is preferably made of polypropylene, is that an empty reusable display container can be folded up in a matter of seconds. Coupled with the fact that this very flat folded reusable display container, with its container surfaces lying parallel to one another and in a horizontal plane, results in a transport size so suitable that a larger number of the empty reusable display containers can be returned (for example to collection points with wire mesh boxes or other collection containers for holding the empty container), which is not possible with disposable cardboard packaging or common display containers made of non-corrugated polymer or plastic sheets or sheets without hollow chambers, which are considerably heavier in weight.Such a highly compressed return of the reusable display container according to the invention is only possible because the special material possesses such good folding properties, as described above. At the same time, due to the lightness of the material of the reusable display container according to the invention, return transport is so convenient that the return is more cost-effective than producing a new product. It is also easy for the packer to pull the flat-folded reusable display container according to the invention from the shelf and, with just one hand movement, bring it into its final unfolded position, in order to then fill the goods into the box.

[0034] Corrugated plastic sheets with webs or a corrugated intermediate layer (made of corrugated plastic) between two smooth outer layers, or alternatively, dimpled sheets as described above, particularly made of polypropylene, are a new type of environmentally friendly yet robust packaging material. Corrugated plastic, or Corriboards, are extruded single-wall or multi-wall plastic sheets, typically made of high-impact polypropylene resin and constructed similarly to corrugated cardboard. They are environmentally friendly, waterproof, non-toxic, durable, and recyclable. Plastic sheets with webs or a corrugated intermediate layer (made of corrugated plastic) between two smooth outer layers, or alternatively, dimpled sheets made of polypropylene, also offer high strength and are corrosion-resistant. They can endure long life cycles and be recycled many times. Both the price and durability are significantly better than corrugated cardboard, making this material a high-quality alternative to corrugated cardboard. Furthermore, it is lightweight, has good toughness, and can save costs by using less material per unit volume, making it a high-quality alternative to injection-molded boxes.

[0035] The selected material makes a significant contribution to the circular economy and decarbonization. At the same time, the cost per use is not increased compared to conventional cardboard display containers. Cycles of up to ten or more, even up to 20 or 30 cycles between seller and customer can be achieved with the reusable display container according to the invention, while simultaneously facilitating easy return transport. In contrast to conventional disposable cardboard display containers, this is a major advantage, as it not only saves money but also protects the environment. Because return transport is cheaper than manufacturing a new product, this reusable cycle is economically viable.

[0036] To manufacture the reusable display container, one of the above-mentioned panels is used, which is punched into a blank (alternatively cut with a cutting plotter) and pre-folded into a semi-finished product. In particular, the pre-folded semi-finished product is hot-stamped or glued at at least three, preferably four, connection points so that the end wall sections are firmly yet foldably connected to the longitudinal wall sections.

[0037] As already explained, the bottom end of the long side walls is firmly connected to the adjacent long side of the base, and the bottom end of the end side walls is firmly connected to the adjacent end of the base, over the entire length of the end or long side of the base, via a fold or fold line. This fold or fold line allows it to be folded in the folding direction. The folding direction refers to the direction in which the foldable wall sections are unfolded in order to transfer the display container into its finished position for storage, display and / or transport of goods. The respective wall sections are consequently also connected to the base via these fold lines and can thus be transferred from their flat-folded position into an upright position when the container is laid flat. The flat-folded or laid-flat container, as a finished product oras a finished reusable display container (i.e. with activated connection points), is erected over these fold lines during the unfolding process, in which the end walls, which lie on the floor when the container is folded flat, are pushed upwards and outwards from the inside of the container into their upright position (perpendicular to the floor) and at the same time the longitudinal sections, which are initially arranged in a horizontal plane with the floor when the container is laid flat (next to the floor, in extension to it - not lying on the floor), are positioned vertically over their bottom fold line towards the inside of the container when unfolded. The first and second folding tabs, which lie in a plane with the end walls when the container is laid flat (the end walls lying parallel to and on the base and the first and second folding tabs lying parallel to and on the longitudinal sections, preferably the long side walls), are folded towards each other when the flat-folded display container is unfolded into its upright final position. A diagonal fold line separates the first folding tab from the second folding tab in such a way that the first and second folding tabs are aligned mirror-symmetrically to each other. Since the foldable end product is firmly, preferably non-detachably, connected to the respective second folding tab via a connection point A to the respective adjacent long side wall, the outer side of the first folding tab comes into contact with the inner side of the second folding tab when the container is in its final position. The outer side of the first folding flap is the side that, in the case of an erected display container according to the invention in its upright end position or final position, faces outward away from the container interior. The inner side of the second folding flap is the side that, in the case of the display container according to the invention in its upright end position, faces toward the container interior.

[0038] According to a further aspect of the invention, extremely rapid locking of fastening means, preferably locking lugs, is enabled. These are formed on the first or second, alternatively on both, folding flaps and on the securing flaps, and engage in correspondingly complementary receptacles in the container wall or the wall sections of the container. The individual elements and their interaction of the reusable display container are described below:

[0039] Both the securing tabs and some or all of the folding tabs have one or more locking lugs. The locking lug(s) of the securing tabs engage in complementary locking receptacles in the folds between the container's end walls and the first folding tabs. The locking lugs of the first and / or second folding tab, in turn, engage in complementary locking receptacles between the container's longitudinal side walls and the securing tabs in the container's unfolded final position.

[0040] In a further embodiment of the invention, at least two locking receptacles are provided at least on the longitudinal edge of the container base, into which complementary locking lugs of the first and / or second folding flap(s) of a container arranged precisely below to form a stack engage, in order to provide a stack of several containers stacked one above the other and to secure the stack by a positive connection between the locking lugs and the receptacle. Alternatively, the locking receptacles are formed on the front edge of the base, preferably on both of these edges.Particularly preferably, the locking receptacles are formed in the respective fold line between the container's longitudinal edge and the longitudinal side wall adjacent to the container's longitudinal edge, alternatively in the respective fold line between the container's front edge and the front side wall adjacent to the container's front edge, alternatively in all four of the described fold lines of the base.

[0041] The reusable display container is ideally suited and equipped for automatic packing in a packing line. For this purpose, it is inserted into a packing machine in a folded, flat position (flat-folded). The container is conveniently fed to the case packer via a first device, preferably a feed device, or inserted into the case packer. The container is then expediently sucked in from the center of the bottom of the container, gripped, pushed, and pulled downwards by at least two opposing tool jaws or flanks by means of a second device in the case packer, which is located below the container bottom and which can optionally also be the first device, and which is preferably a suction device, a gripper arm, or a slider, particularly preferably a gripping element with a suction device or a slider with a suction device, in such a way that two opposite side wall sections, preferably side walls, are folded up into an upright position. The container bottom resting on the second device is in a first upper position (the upper position is at the height of the upper end of the tool jaws). The wall sections are folded upwards by means of at least two opposing tool jaws, which together expediently form a funnel and are aligned at a distance from one another. Between the tool jaws or flanks, the second device slides downwards from the first upper position to a final position located at the lower end of the tool flanks, so that at least two opposite side walls of the wall sections slide along the tool flanks and, due to the funnel shape of the tool flanks, reach an upright position. The wall sections, preferably the two opposite longitudinal wall sections and longitudinal side walls, are expediently folded up using the two tool jaws described above, which are particularly preferably aligned parallel to the wall sections, preferably parallel to the longitudinal wall sections, and arranged at a distance from one another of expediently at least the width of the container base. The goods can be placed into the unfolded reusable display container on the base of the container by means of a third device, preferably a gripper arm, particularly preferably together with a separate lid, and the container can then be closed simultaneously with the lid. Alternatively, the lid can be moved over the top opening of the container with a slider, thus closing it.The advantage over prior art reusable display containers is that the reusable display container according to the invention can be equipped for automated packaging machines, packed in automated and very few process steps, and simultaneously sealed with a separately designed lid. At the same time, the production of the reusable display container and its packaging are more cost-effective than previous processes.

[0042] According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the reusable display container has a grammage in the range of between 150 and 1,100 g / m 2 , preferably between 350 g / m 2 and 550 g / m 2 Although the basis weight (grammage) according to DIN EN ISO 536 usually expresses the weight of a paper or corrugated board grade, it is measured in g / m 2and plays an important role in determining the quality and cost calculation of corrugated cardboard. In this case, however, the grammage of the reusable display container according to the invention corresponds to that of conventional corrugated cardboard. The basis weight of the reusable display container according to the invention thus corresponds to that of conventional disposable display containers made of corrugated cardboard and is just as light. This means there are no disadvantages during transport, neither a higher weight load for the parcel delivery service nor for the transport vehicle (fuel consumption).

[0043] Furthermore, the reusable display container, and optionally also the lid described below, can and should be provided with labels and prints for optimal advertising purposes. This is possible on all surfaces of the container and the lid. However, conventional labels and stickers often have the serious disadvantage that they cannot be easily removed; instead, residues of the adhesive remain stuck to the packaging or display container, and the sales representative has to rub the label for a minute or longer to remove it, which entails a time and therefore cost disadvantage. It is of great importance that the removal of the disposable or reusable labels or prints can be done manually and, if possible, automatically (by machine) as quickly as possible. At the same time, these labels must be easy to wash off. This is primarily to avoid unnecessary return costs due to the loss of time spent scraping off labels.

[0044] Advantageously, the reusable display container according to the invention, optionally also the lid, comprises a carrier label, which is preferably designed as a silicone-coated carrier label. The silicone-coated carrier label has the advantage that disposable or reusable labels or other stickers affixed to it can be removed very easily. The carrier label is particularly preferably a silicone strip or a lacquered label made of applied silicone-containing lacquer. This ensures quick and uncomplicated de-labeling.

[0045] As an alternative to the silicone-coated label, it is of course possible to add a silicone-based additive or a similar additive to the corrugated plastic, bio-based polymer or biodegradable polymer, so that the sheet according to the invention made from this polymer has the same effect as the silicone-coated label itself.

[0046] The reusable display container is suitable for tracking and preferably has an RFID device.

[0047] The display box is preferably designed to be open at the top. When upright for transporting goods, the side walls of the wall sections define a base area of the reusable display container. This base area can vary in size but is similar to conventional display containers. The base area is essentially cuboid or rectangular.

[0048] It should be noted that the wall sections or side walls do not have to be closed or form full-surface walls that would completely close the box on all sides and in the area of the wall sections or side walls (not visible). The wall sections or side walls can optionally be provided with partial openings. For this purpose, circular, rectangular or other shaped cutouts in the side walls are conceivable for a better view of the interior. It is important that the wall sections or side walls continue to serve at least to hold the goods stored in the box and enable the folding and securing described above, but also permit reliable stacking of several containers on top of one another.

[0049] The display opening, which is conveniently located on the wall side, preferably on the front wall side, is preferably open at the top and can be of any shape. In addition to a V- or U-shaped display opening, it can alternatively be rectangular or circular. Optionally or additionally, a connecting bar can be provided at the upper edge of the display wall section adjacent to the display opening, limiting the display opening at the top. The connecting bar also stabilizes the display opening, especially if it is very wide in the upper wall area.

[0050] A lid according to the invention or a lid for a system according to the invention comprising a reusable display container and a lid is expediently formed in one piece and loose from the display container.

[0051] The lid as such or for the system expediently has at least one downwardly foldable side wing as a support and positioning means on at least two of its wide and / or long sides of its lid base, preferably on at least two opposite sides, particularly preferably the opposite end faces (wide sides) of the lid base, the latter corresponding to the dimensions of the base of the base, but preferably at least one panel thickness or material thickness greater in width than the width of the base so that a stacking surface can be provided. The length of the side wings or their height in the inserted state expediently corresponds to the height of the container in the unfolded state (goods transport position or goods display or goods storage position). The outer sides of the side wings are in the closed position of the lid orof the lid and container system, on the inside, against the inner surfaces of the adjacent side walls. A material-related pre-tension is present in the fold line between the lid base and the side wings. This is because the side wings are pre-folded in only one direction, namely the folding direction (i.e., downwards towards the container when the lid is positioned over the opening). Due to this material-related and pre-folding-related pre-tension, the outer sides of the side wings are pressed against the inner surfaces of the adjacent side walls. This contributes to a very reliable clamping of the lid in the container and reinforces the snug fit.

[0052] The invention advantageously provides at least two opposing lateral notches formed on the edge of the lid, particularly preferably shaped as a groove-like recess, for securing the lid in the region of the container opening between opposing side walls of the unfolded container. If a side wing is arranged on each of two opposing side walls, the notches are provided on the other two opposing side edges of the lid, which do not have side wings.

[0053] Particularly in the closed lid position, the notches in the lid are aligned complementarily with the upwardly projecting locking lugs of the first and / or second folding flaps. The side wings, which are hinged, for example, to the opposite end edges of the lid, are folded downward in the final position of the closed container and arranged inside the container for positioning and, if necessary, stacking the lid in the reusable display container. It goes without saying that the area of the lid edge that does not have any notches rests on the upper edge, preferably the support surface, of the container.

[0054] Alternatively, at least one side wing can be provided on three, preferably all four, side edges of the lid and can be foldably connected to the lid base via a fold. In this case, instead of notches, which are provided, for example, as described above, on two opposite side edges of the lid base, groove-like recesses can be provided in the fold between the corresponding side edge of the lid base and the respective side wing to continue to allow engagement of the locking lugs of the first and / or second folding tabs.

[0055] By using four side wings, i.e. one side wing per side edge of the lid base, the pressure stability can be increased and a higher weight of an upper container in the stack can be loaded onto a lower container than if only two side edges of the lid base have side wings.

[0056] A blank for producing a reusable display container is also claimed. The blank forms at least four wall sections, in particular two longitudinal and two end wall sections, as well as a base, according to the features described above with respect to the display container.

[0057] The present invention furthermore also comprises a method for unfolding the reusable display container and preferably for packaging goods using the reusable display container described above. For this method, an automatic packaging machine or packaging device is used, which is also referred to as a case packer in technical terms. The case packer is advantageously a wrap-around case packer from Syntegon (e.g., the Elematic® 3001 Wrap-Around Case Packer) equipped with the appropriate electronics, tools, and robotics. The case packer can thus be specifically configured for the reusable display container according to the invention, in particular for its unfolding or folding.Erection from a flat, folded position of a pre-assembled reusable display container to an upright final position, in which the side walls are erected, i.e., raised all the way around the base. When the container is filled with goods and the lid is simultaneously put on, the securing tab is folded down, and the locking lugs of the securing tab engage the corresponding, complementary locking receptacles on the adjacent side walls. The term "pre-assembled display container," or alternatively "pre-assembled reusable display container," refers to the container whose connection points at the second folding tabs have been firmly connected to the adjacent long side walls.

[0058] The procedure is described below using the procedural steps:

[0059] In a non-mandatory step preceding the first method step, a finished display container is removed from a stack by means of a first device in the case packer, which preferably has a gripper arm. The first device preferably grips the bottom of the container. As an alternative to a gripper arm, the first device is connected to a magazine in which several finished display containers are loaded vertically in a flat, folded position. In this alternative embodiment, the first device has a guide rail in which one of the loaded finished containers is received and held vertically in the magazine. In a subsequent first process step, the finished display container, in a flat state, is fed to the case packer using the first device, the so-called feed device, or is inserted into the case packer. The finished display container is stored horizontally, and its inner base and outer surfaces of the end wall sections are oriented facing upwards. The underside of the base and the outer surfaces of the longitudinal sections therefore face downwards and are arranged on the first device or, after transfer to a second device in this process step, already on the second device.

[0060] In a second subsequent process step, the finished display container, still folded flat, is placed in the same horizontal position over a tool by means of the first device or, after transfer from the first device to a second device, on the second device. The tool has two tool jaws or tool flanks arranged parallel to each other, forming a gap between them. Due to their downwardly tapered jaw walls, the jaws form a funnel-like tool. The flat-folded, finished display container is pulled over this tool using the first or second device, so that the respective longitudinal sections of the container, preferably the longitudinal side walls, in particular the outer sides of the longitudinal side walls of the longitudinal section, are positioned at a slight distance above the tool jaws or are placed on the longitudinal edges at the upper edge of the tool jaws. The container base is thus positioned over the space formed by the jaws. This advantageously provides a way to keep the underside of the base accessible.

[0061] In the second method step, the first or second device can further comprise positioning elements, preferably in the form of locking lugs, preferably four locking lugs, which protrude upwards from the first or second device in such a way that they are aligned complementarily and precisely to the groove-like locking receptacles in the container base, as described later in the description of the figures, and are designed for precise engagement therein. While the flat-folded containers are stored horizontally on the first or second device, the positioning elements engage in the base-side locking receptacles, stabilize the container base in its position and advantageously pre-tension it such that the container can be unfolded extremely reliably, i.e. without individual tabs or locking lugs snagging and without buckling or bending of the wall sections. In particular, the positioning elements ensure that the container is precisely aligned over the tool flanks, and the pre-tensioning of the container base enables much better folding than without positioning elements.

[0062] In the next, third process step, the underside of the base is sucked, gripped, or pushed by the first or second device in the case packer, which preferably has a suction device, a gripper arm, or a slider, particularly preferably a gripping element with a suction device or a slider with a suction device, and pulled downward with the aid of the second device. As the finished display container is pulled downward, the longitudinal sections slide along the opposing tool jaws into the gap and are erected. Thus, the container, with its container walls arranged circumferentially around the base, is transferred into an unfolded filling position.

[0063] In a suitable fourth process step, a third device in the case packer moves over the container and simultaneously holds, pushes, or clamps a lid. The third device guides the lid over the upper container opening and closes it with the lid.

[0064] In an alternative fourth method step, an alternative third device of the case packer is used to grip and pull a lid. The lid, which has wing flaps or side wings that can be folded downwards on two opposite sides, is preferably gripped on the outer sides of the wing flaps using a holding or gripping element of the third device, wherein the wing flaps are aligned vertically downwards and at the same time goods are picked up and clamped between the inner sides of the wing flaps, so that the lid is brought into its final folded position and at the same time securely holds the goods between the holding elements of the gripper arm.

[0065] For this purpose, the goods are advantageously held near the third device in the appropriate pack size for the container, so that the third device can easily clamp the goods between the lid wing tabs by means of a rotating movement.

[0066] In the alternative fourth step of the method according to the invention, the goods are placed on the container base into the container interior by means of the third device. This is done by inserting the vertically folded wing flaps into the container. The securing flaps, which still protrude slightly upward but are positioned at an angle above the container interior, are folded down when the wing flaps on the adjacent side walls slide down into the container interior toward the bottom. The securing tabs on the upper edge of the container are automatically folded into the interior of the container, and their locking lugs, which are each arranged laterally on the edge of the securing tab facing the front of the container, engage in correspondingly complementary receptacles in the adjacent side walls. This is because the wing tabs correspond in width to the inside width of the container and thus press the securing tab against the respective wall, with the locking lug of the securing tab simultaneously snapping into the complementary locking receptacle between the front wall and the first folding flap. At the same time, the goods are positioned in the container, and the lid is moved into its closed position by means of the notches, preferably provided on the base of the lid, into which the locking lugs of the second folding flaps engage with a snug fit.

[0067] System for the production of reusable display containers from hollow-wall sheets, preferably from polypropylene hollow-wall sheets or polypropylene hollow-wall sheets with at least one corrugated intermediate layer, or dimpled-structure sheets, as described above, the return and reintroduction of empty reusable display containers into the shipping cycle, and for the recycling of returned defective reusable display containers, such as those used in particular for product display in wholesale and retail trade and for the transport of goods in mail order. For this purpose, the system expediently comprises several upstream active and / or passive collection points with collection containers (having QR codes, RFID, or serial numbers) for accepting the reusable display containers returned by the end customer, as well as a processing device for the returned reusable display containers at a final collection point. The system therefore comprises a plurality of upstream active and / or passive collection points located at a distance from one another and at least one processing device at a final collection point, which is provided with a sorting device and a shredding device for the reusable display containers.

[0068] The sorting device expediently includes means for automated detection of defective containers, preferably imaging methods. As soon as a defect is detected, the container is sorted out for recycling.

[0069] The shredding device expediently comprises means for mechanical shredding and is equipped for shredding the reusable display containers into different sizes. The sorted containers are then expediently fed to the shredding device at the sorting station, which can be done via a conveyor belt. The sorting device also detects non-defective containers and forwards them to a washing and cleaning device, a relabeling station, and / or a secondary sorting station, for example, for size sorting of the containers.

[0070] The processing device expediently comprises means for mechanically separating and / or separating components present on the reusable display container, such as labels, stickers, and the like. New labels can be applied to non-defective containers (relabeling). The processing device can further comprise a washing and cleaning device and / or quality control means and / or a granulation device for producing granules from the ground material or flakes of the hollow-core sheet or dimpled-structure sheet. The invention comprises both a method for the production of the reusable display containers according to the invention - for the display of goods in wholesale and retail trade and the transport of goods in mail order - from hollow chamber sheets, preferably from polypropylene hollow chamber sheets or dimpled structure sheets according to the invention as well as a method for the return and reintroduction of empty reusable display containers according to the invention into the shipping cycle and for the recycling of returned damaged reusable display containers according to the invention.

[0071] The manufacturing process advantageously comprises the following process steps:

[0072] 1. Production of a hollow-wall sheet or hollow-wall sheet with at least one wave-shaped intermediate layer between two outer layers or a dimpled structure sheet, preferably made of polypropylene, biodegradable or bio-based polymer and

[0073] 2. Punching out a predetermined blank from the plate and pre-folding all defined fold lines for easy folding by the customer into a reusable display container, which is preferably designed according to the objective features described above.

[0074] In addition, a use of the folded or unfolded reusable display container is claimed, wherein the use takes place in several shipping cycles, with active and / or passive collection points according to the above system, preferably in up to about 10 to 50, particularly preferably 15 to 30, in particular 25 cycles.

[0075] The return procedure advantageously includes the following procedural steps:

[0076] 1. Automated or manual sorting and separation of returned

[0077] reusable display containers into defective and non-defective reusable display containers, preferably by means of automated imaging technology, preferably via a conveyor belt;

[0078] 2. Reintroduction of non-defective reusable display containers into the shipping cycle, and

[0079] 3. Recycling of defective reusable display containers at the final collection point.

[0080] The return process is further characterized by the creation of a comprehensive network of decentralized collection points in a region, delivery of reusable (non-defective) or damaged (defective) reusable display containers to the collection points by end users, periodic visits to the collection points by at least one transport vehicle for return to the final collection point and sorting into returnable and non-returnable reusable display containers, whereby the display containers that cannot be returned to the shipping cycle are fed to a processing device with a shredding device by means of which the reusable display containers are shredded into different grinding material sizes. The processing device at the final collection point expediently comprises means for mechanically comminuting and / or separating components present on the reusable display container, such as labels, stickers, and the like, or for producing flakes from the hollow-chamber or dimpled-structured panel. The processing device can further be equipped with a washing and cleaning device and / or quality control means and / or a granulation device for producing granules from the ground material or flakes of the above-described hollow-chamber or dimpled-structured panel according to the invention.

[0081] The display containers can be conveniently provided with an individual barcode during production for unique identification. The supplier can then report all barcodes for each pallet in order to determine which display container is sent to which retailer. The box data is stored in a system. If a display container is later returned to the manufacturer by the end customer, the circulation can be easily recorded and evaluated statistically. Mail order companies can advantageously order new packaging from the manufacturer by email or telephone. On this basis, a sales order for the respective boxes (sizes / characteristics) is created in a system. A delivery note can be created from the order, and the goods can be prepared and shipped. The individual barcodes of the display containers are recorded in the outgoing goods department and stored by the system in a suitable location. When a delivery is made from a production facility, the producer provides the barcodes and the customer who received the boxes. This information can then be recorded on the delivery note and is available for later analysis. Rent and deposit can then be invoiced for the boxes (invoice from deliveries and services).

[0082] In a particularly advantageous embodiment of the system and method, the end customer can select the reusable display container according to the invention and add it to their order or goods order by selecting "reusable" (with a digital plug-in solution) or by selecting "shipping type" reusable display container, or by selecting "article selection" reusable display container. The order or goods order is picked and packed in the reusable display container at a packing station. The packed reusable display container is then sealed like a conventional parcel, and the shipping label is applied, preferably to a carrier label, which is particularly preferably a silicone-coated carrier label. The parcel is then handed over to the freight forwarder for delivery, and the end customer is charged a deposit (possibly also additional costs for reusable items). The reusable display container is then delivered to the end customer.

[0083] In a further system component or alternative step of the return process for the two feature groups 1 or 2 above, the return of the reusable display container can be done in two ways. Via a so-called "passive collection point" via a return box, or via a so-called "active collection point," which immediately pays out a deposit and from which the manufacturer collects the reusable display containers themselves. The return takes place at the passive collection point using the return box with the help of an end-customer app. With the passive collection point, the end customer preferably selects a nearby or suitable return point in the system themselves. Here, an app (web app) can also call up navigation from their location and the destination. The end customer then visits the return location and scans the return box and the reusable display container. The end customer then deposits the reusable display container into the return container or box.The container number of the return box is entered into a blacklist. This prevents the returned reusable display containers from being scanned multiple times for deposit payout. This process can be used to immediately pay out the deposit amount to the end customer. However, it could also be possible for no deposit to be paid out at this point, but only when the reusable display containers are physically collected at a service facility. This should be configurable. This process step must also trigger email communication with the end customer.

[0084] At the active collection point, the return of the empty reusable display container by the end customer is preferably carried out via a door-to-door delivery service (door return) or an alternative return to a participating location such as a kiosk, which pays out the deposit to the customer and from which the manufacturer collects the containers.

[0085] At the active collection point, the customer can hand over the reusable display container directly to an affiliated service provider, such as a door-to-door delivery service or another participating location. The customer receives a deposit refund from the affiliated service provider directly as a voucher, or credited toward their next purchase. The reusable display containers are collected in the respective warehouses (dark stores) of the affiliated service providers and, after notification to the manufacturer, are picked up by a disposal partner. This is conveniently done based on a collection order, which is an ordering process. The reusable display containers are then scanned by a return partner in the receiving department, and the inventory is recorded in a separate system. The service provider receives a refund of the deposit, plus preferably a handling fee.The alternative process involves the customer conveniently dropping off the reusable display container at a designated return point. The return point advantageously pays a deposit. The return point collects the reusable display containers and, when a certain threshold is reached, notifies the manufacturer of the reusable display containers. The manufacturer collects the collected reusable display containers and refunds the collection point at least the deposit.

[0086] The return of filled collection containers (return boxes) to the manufacturer's service center is conveniently carried out based on scan data in the web app. This app determines the fill level of the return boxes based on the scan data, preferably from the end customer (as described above). If a threshold of, for example, 25 reusable display containers is exceeded, the return box is marked for collection and a collection order is created for the return partner. This notification can also be sent manually to the manufacturer by the operator of the collection point. In this case, a manual return order is created in the scheduling system, and the return box is subsequently picked up and taken to the manufacturer's service center.

[0087] At the service center at the final collection point, the return box or collection container is emptied and the reusable display containers are scanned. The condition of the reusable display containers is then recorded. A distinction is made between "green" = reuse and "red" = special treatment. Special treatment can range from special cleaning to breakage and the need for recycling. Boxes with a green check mark are added to the available inventory and, after reprocessing, can be delivered to an end customer or mail-order company.

[0088] The processing device can expediently comprise, in addition to a comminution device as described above, a washing and cleaning device and / or quality control means and / or a granulation device for producing granules from the ground material or flakes of the above-described hollow-chamber or dimpled-structured panel according to the invention. The reusable display container in question, with its features described above, is a component of the system, the use, and the methods.

[0104] Fig. 9A Top view of a blank of a reusable display container according to the first embodiment,

[0105] Fig. 9B Top view of a blank of a lid for the reusable display container according to the first embodiment.

[0106] Figures 1A, 1B and 1C show a reusable display container according to the invention (also referred to as a “ready-to-use reusable display container”) according to a first embodiment of the invention with larger dimensions than the reusable display container (also referred to as a “ready-to-use reusable display container”) shown in Figures 2 to 5B of an alternative second embodiment of the invention.

[0107] Figure 1A shows a plan view of the reusable display container 1 (hereinafter "the display box" or just "container") according to the first embodiment, here without a lid 40. The display box 1 comprises a base 2 and four circumferentially arranged wall sections 3, 4, 5, 6 (shown in Fig. 1B), wherein two wall sections 3, 4 each form two opposite longitudinal side walls 7, 8, each with a securing tab 11, 12, and two wall sections 5, 6 each form two opposite end side walls 9, 10, each with a first 13, 14, 17, 18 (shown in Fig. 1B) and a second folding tab 15, 16, 19, 20 (shown in Fig. 1B). Three of the side walls 7, 8, 9 are formed over the entire surface. The side wall 10 is provided with a display opening 22. In Fig. 1A the interior of the display box 1 is shown.

[0108] In Fig. 1A, the securing tabs 11, 12 are in their locked final position for product display, product storage, or product transport. For this purpose, the securing tabs 11, 12 are folded into the container interior via their fold line 11', 12'. In this final position, the securing tabs 11, 12 are arranged at a distance of two material thicknesses parallel to an upper portion of the inner surface of the side walls 7, 8 and rest against an upper portion of the inner surface of the first folding tabs 13, 14, 17, 18. The securing tabs 11, 12 each have a locking lug 23, 24, 27, 28 on their edges facing the end walls 9, 10 of the container, i.e. their lateral edges, which protrude laterally from the securing tab 11, 12 to the adjacent end wall. The locking lugs 23, 24, 27, 28 of the securing tabs 11, 12 engage with their locking lugs 13", 14", 17", 18", which are arranged in the fold lines orFolds 13', 14', 17', 18' are provided between the end walls 9, 10 and the adjacent first folding flaps 13, 14, 17, 18 (shown in Fig. 1 B). The upper container edge forms a stacking support which is formed in the region of the long side walls 7, 8 by the outer and visible surface of the fold 1T, 12', between the securing flap 11, 12 and the long side wall 7, 8. The stacking support or support surface 21 formed on this surface of the fold 1T, 12' corresponds to at least twice the thickness of a material thickness and is used to place another container on the container (1) shown for stacking. Locking lugs 15", 16", 19", 20" are each formed on one of the second folding flaps 15, 16, 19, 20 and protrude upwards from the support surface 21 over the upper edge of the reusable display container 1.These locking lugs 15", 16", 19", 20" can engage in complementary receptacles 25, 26 in the base 2 of a second container (not shown here) stacked above the container 1 shown, thus securing a stack of two display boxes in their stacking position against lateral displacement and enabling a form-fitting stacking of several reusable display containers. The locking lugs 13'", 14'", 17'", 18'" shown are optional and are each formed on one of the first folding flaps 13, 14, 17, 18 and, when the container is in its final position, also protrude upwards from the support surface 21 above the upper edge of the display container 1. Together with the locking lugs 15", 16", 19", 20", they form a double material layer, thus a double material thickness and thus an even more stable engagement in a complementary receptacle 25, 26 in the base 2 of a container stacked above it, thus making the anti-displacement device even more effective. This is particularly desirable and advantageous for heavy loads. The stacks are secured against slipping in all directions of the loading plane.

[0109] Figure 1B shows a plan view of the finished reusable display container 1 according to the first exemplary embodiment, folded flat for empty transport. In this folded position, the finished reusable display container, also referred to as such, is fed to a packing machine or case packer (e.g., Syntegon Elematik 3001 wrap-around case packer) or inserted into this packing machine or case packer. Visible from the bottom to the top of the image is the securing tab 12, which, together with the adjoining longitudinal side wall 8 and expediently also the fold 12', forms the wall section 4. The locking lugs 24 and 28 are located on the lateral edge of the free end of the securing tab 12. The side wall 8 is foldably connected to the adjoining longitudinal edge of the base 2 via a fold line 4'.Continuing upwards in the image, the side wall 7 with the side flap 11 is connected to the opposite longitudinal edge of the base 2, which expediently forms the wall section 3 together with the fold line 11'. The wall section 3 is in turn foldably connected to the base 2 via a fold line 3' which runs along the base edge of the long side wall 7. From a plan view of Figure 1B, going from the left of the image side to the right, to the side of the base, i.e. on its left front edge, the wall section 6 is shown, which is formed from the front side wall 10 with display opening 22, the first folding flaps 17, 18 and the second folding flaps 19, 20 adjoining the first folding flaps. The first folding flaps 17, 18 adjoin the edges of the front side wall 10 facing the respective longitudinal section 3, 4. Neither the first nor the second folding tabs 17, 18, 19, 20 are connected to the base 2.The wall section 5 adjoins the opposite end edge of the base 2 via a fold line 5' (shown in Fig. 5A), which, like the opposite wall section 6 with its fold line 6' (not shown), extends along the entire width of the end base edge BT. The end wall 9 adjoins the fold line 5' with its first folding flaps 13, 14, each laterally adjacent via a fold line 13', 14'. The second folding flaps adjoining the first folding flaps follow again via a further fold line 15' and 16'.

[0110] 15 and 16. Here too, neither the first nor the second folding flaps 13, 15, 15,

[0111] 16 are connected to floor 2.

[0112] The second folding tabs 15, 16, 19, 20 of the wall sections 5 and 6 are firmly connected to the adjacent long side walls 7 and 8 at specific points via connection points A, which are preferably designed as hot-stamped welds here, a total of four in number. The flat-folded reusable display container shown is a finished display container, as it is delivered empty in transport to packaging companies or to the manufacturer of the goods to be packaged, shipping service providers or other end users. In contrast to pure cutting, as shown in Figures 8A to 9B, the connection points A are therefore already activated, i.e. here in Fig. 1 B: hot-stamped, so that the second folding tabs are each firmly connected to the long side walls and irremovably fastened to one another.

[0113] A first and a second folding flap always together form a non-regular pentagonal shape consisting of a first 30, "second 31," and third 32 right-angled corner (30, 31, 32) and a fourth 34 and fifth 35 corner (34, 35), each with an angle of 135°. From the edge center between the fourth corner 34 and the fifth corner 35, a connecting line runs as a diagonal to the second bottom corner 31. The diagonal forms an axis of symmetry of the first and second folding flaps. The "second corner 31" is in quotation marks because it is formed from a recess at the bottom end of the first and second folding flaps (see figure description 8A). In this application, "edge center" or "edge center" refers to the center of the edge of the first and second folding flaps that lies between the fourth and fifth corners.

[0114] A partial front view of the finished display container according to the first embodiment is shown in Fig. 1C. The material selection of the first embodiment, namely a dimpled structure plate, is clearly visible here. An outer cover layer is designated Z. The cover layers here are essentially smooth on their outer surfaces. The core Z' (sectional view of the second folding flap), Z" (sectional view of the longitudinal section) exhibits a dimple-like structure. The dimples are hollow inside and form air spaces between them. The dimples are circular in shape and appear as airless bubbles. During the manufacturing process, however, the "bubbles" were extruded or drawn in a dimple-like manner. In the corner area, the finished display container is very stable, since the first folding flap (not visible here) and the second folding flap, whose sectional view Z' is visible, each reinforce the longitudinal side walls 7, 8 in the corner area.In the corner area, the long side walls 7, 8 are reinforced by two additional material layers, namely those of the first and second folding flaps, so that, including the area of the long side wall located there, there are a total of three material layers. In a stack of display containers stacked on top of each other, this corner reinforcement offers an advantage, as it allows for reliable support and carrying of heavy loads.

[0115] Figure 2A shows a plan view of the reusable display container T according to the second embodiment, which is formed from a hollow-core web panel. This container is somewhat narrower than that of the first embodiment. The width B2 of the end walls is shorter. The sizes of the reusable display containers according to the invention can, of course, vary, and thus it is also possible for the long side walls to be shorter than the end walls or of the same length. The locking receptacles 11" and 12" on the upper edge of the container 1 are clearly visible. These receptacles 11", 12" are located in the support surface 21, which is formed by the surface or outward-facing surface of the fold line 1T, 12'. The locking lugs 13'", 14'", 17'", 18'" of the respective first folding flaps 13, 14, 17, 18, which protrude upwards above the upper container edge, are seated in the receptacles 11", 12".It should be noted that in the second embodiment, locking lugs are only formed on the first folding tabs and not on the second folding tabs. This saves material. This is especially true for a narrower container, where double locking lugs, i.e. one locking lug on each of the first and second folding tabs, are not necessarily required, as the load is lower due to the smaller packaging volume than with a wider or larger container. The U-shaped display opening 22, which is provided as a partial recess in the end wall 10, is shown. Both corner regions of the base of the display opening 22 are rounded, as is the transition from the two U-shaped legs of the display opening to the upper edge of the end wall 10. Figure 2B shows the reusable display container according to Figure 2A, but purely as an example, without an end-wall display opening.

[0116] Furthermore, Figures 3A and 3B show partial views of the display box T. In Fig. 3A, from the rear, from the perspective of the front side 9 (also referred to as the "rear front side"), and in Fig. 3B, from the front, from the perspective of the front side 10 (also referred to as the "front front side") with display opening 22.

[0117] Fig. 3A shows a region of the longitudinal section 3, in particular its end-face sectional view and the transition from the longitudinal side wall 7 thereof via the support surface 21 to the securing tab 11 (the latter is not visible), wherein the support surface 21 is clearly visible. The height H3 of the support surface 21 can, in the cut (see Fig. 8A), correspond to at least twice, preferably three times the thickness of the material of the hollow-core web sheet. The material thickness is usually between 0.5 and 6 mm, so that with a material thickness of 1.5 mm, the support surface has a height H3 in the cut of at least 3 mm, preferably 4.5 mm. The length of the support surface 21 corresponds to the length of the longitudinal side wall 7, which is visible here.Three of the locking lugs 13'", 17'", 18'" protrude upwards from the upper container edge above the support surface 21, with two locking lugs 13'", 17'" being visible on the longitudinal side wall 7 in the provided groove-like receptacles 11" of the wall section 3, and one locking lug 18'" being visible in the groove-like receptacle 12" of the wall section 4 on the opposite side. The locking lug 28, which is provided at the free end to the side of the securing tab 12, is received and engaged in a complementary opening 18" in the end wall 10 in Figure 3B. The securing tab 12 thus secures the longitudinal side wall 8 in its upright position and thus stabilizes the entire display container in its goods storage and goods transport position. The material of the reusable display container T is clearly visible; in this second embodiment, it is a hollow-wall sheet whose two outer layers are identified by reference symbols X and X', and whose web is identified by X" in the sectional view. The webs X", which are shown between two outer layers X, X', form hollow channels between them.

[0118] Fig. 4 shows a partial view, from the inside, from an oblique top perspective, of a longitudinal side wall and end wall with a display opening according to the second exemplary embodiment of the invention. Clearly visible in Figure 4 is a groove-like recess 26 in the base 2, which is rectangular at the longitudinal edge of the base 2 and complements the locking lug 18' and extends in the longitudinal direction. The wall section 6 adjoins the partially visible end edge of the base 2 with its fold line 6'. The fold line 6', like the invisible fold line 5', extends along the entire width of the end edge B of the base. r

[0119] Figures 5A and 5B show partial views of the rear container region T with the closed end wall 9. In the second exemplary embodiment shown here, the locking lugs 13'" and 23 are shown in the released position. In Figure 5A, the second folding flap 15 is only recognizable in its sectional view, but in Figure 5B it is also recognizable in terms of its surface, because the longitudinal wall section 3, the first and second folding flaps 13, 15 in Figure 5B are slightly unfolded in a so-called intermediate folding position. In the second exemplary embodiment shown here, only one locking lug 13'" is formed, namely on the first folding flap 13. Alternatively, it is also possible to provide a correspondingly complementary and mirror-symmetrically arranged folding flap 15" on the second folding flap 15 (as shown in the first exemplary embodiment, see Fig. 1B).

[0120] The complementary, likewise groove-like or rectangular receptacle 13" provided for the locking lug 23 of the securing tab 11 is provided in the closed end wall 9. The locking lug 23 engages positively in the receptacle 13" as soon as the reusable display container is transferred to its goods transport position or display position (not shown here).

[0121] Fig. 6 shows a plan view of a flat-folded lid 40', as is preferably designed for the second embodiment of the display container 1'. The lid is made of one piece. The lid 40' has a base 41', the dimensions of which at least correspond to the base of the container, but is preferably at least one material thickness wider and / or longer than the base of the base. On each of its longitudinal edges, the lid base has rectangular recesses or notches 43', into which the locking lugs 13'", 14'", 17'", 18'" can engage in a form-fitting manner, so that the lid 40' closes the container opening. A side wing 42' is provided on each end edge of the lid base 41'. The two side wings 42' are foldably connected to the lid base via a fold line. The two opposite side wings 42' can be folded downwards so that they come to rest on the inner surfaces of the end walls 9, 10 in the container interior when the lid 40' closes the container opening, wherein in this second embodiment shown both side wings 42" are in their height H. o correspond to the height of the display container or the side walls 7, 8, 9. In particular, the display opening 22 is thereby completely covered from the inside and is thus closed for the transport of goods. This prevents goods from falling out. To secure the lid, it is advisable that the width B o the side wings 42', at least in their frontal area, correspond to the width B2 of the front side walls 9, 10.

[0122] A top view of a reusable display container 1' closed with a lid 40' according to the second embodiment is shown in Fig. 7A. The locking lugs 13'", 14'", 17'", 18'" of the first folding tabs 13, 14, 17, 18 lie in the complementary groove-like receptacles 43' of the lid 40' and position the lid such that it reliably closes the container opening and rests securely on the container opening. The lid 40' is placed securely on the display container 1', with the side wings 42' resting inside the container and resting with their outer surfaces against the inner surfaces of the end walls 9, 10. Fig.7B also shows a reusable display container 1' according to the second embodiment with a lid 40', wherein the lid 40' is shown slightly folded up, so that one of the side wings 42', namely the one shown at the front in the image, whose outer surface would rest against the inner surface of the closed end wall 9 in the closed position, is shown in full view. The opposite side wing 42' is inserted and completely closes the display opening 22. Although the side wings 42' are U-shaped with their legs tapering slightly towards the free end, their width corresponds to B. o at least always at least the width of the display opening, but a maximum of the width B2 of the front side wall 9.

[0123] The width B oof the side wing 42' is preferably selected such that the locking lugs 23, 24, 27, 28 of the securing tabs 11 and 12 automatically engage in the complementary receptacles 13", 14", 17", 18" during a packaging process in the packaging machine when the securing tabs 11, 12 fold into their vertical position inside the container due to the side wings 42' sliding along (when inserting the lid) on the securing tabs 11, 12. Due to the width B o of the side wing 42', the locking lugs are pressed into the complementary receptacles 13", 14", 17", 18". The width B o of the side wing 42' corresponds to at least a height H oBetween 0.5 mm and 50 mm of the side wing 42' of the width B2 of an end wall 9, 10. Fig. 5B shows that the securing tabs 11, 12 are angled slightly inward. This is due to a special pre-folding technique. When the longitudinal side walls are fully erected, they are therefore folded over the container opening at a slight angle, which is why the side wings 42' of the lid 40' cause the lid 40' to fold further into the container interior when the lid 40' is inserted.

[0124] Figure 8A shows a blank of the reusable display container 1' according to the invention according to a second embodiment. The blank is semi-finished. The connection points A are not activated, only displayed. This means that the blank has not yet been hot-stamped or glued. Reference symbol Y denotes a throughput direction, which is intended to support the precise description of the blank below. The dash-dotted lines indicate fold lines. The adjacent sections can be folded along the fold lines. The fold lines indicate where the material is folded. These are neither cutting lines nor dividing lines. Only the solid lines show the outer edge of the blank, the outer edge of the locking receptacles, or the notch in the second corner 31.

[0125] The blank in Figure 8A has dimensions of 400 x 150 x 150 mm (LT XB, XH^). It goes without saying that these dimensions are purely exemplary.

[0126] The following modular sizes (basic size, multi-module size, sub-size) in L x W are conceivable for the display boxes:

[0127] The height is variable. Importantly, the display boxes can be stacked modularly on a standard pallet. The dimensions of a standard EURO pallet are 1200 x 800 (L x W).

[0128] In this case, the thickness of the hollow-core sheet is advantageously 3 mm. The grammage is 450 g / m 2 Naturally, the thickness is essentially the same as that of conventional corrugated cardboard used for display purposes. The thickness of the board can be greater or lesser, but preferably lies between 0.5 and 6 mm. The grammage is also given purely as an example.

[0129] In a top view of the sheet side from right to left, in the direction of travel Y, an end wall section 5 is shown, which has a first fold line 5' on the bottom side, via which the bottom 2 is foldably connected to the first end wall section 5. The crease line or first fold line 5' runs vertically in the image. The end wall section 5 comprises an end face 9, the width B2 of which corresponds to the width BT of the bottom 2 and has a height HT that corresponds to the container height in the ready-for-transport or display state. At the lateral edges of the front side 9, a first folding flap 13, 14 is hinged in a foldable manner and at these first folding flaps 13, 14, in turn, a second folding flap 15, 16 is hinged. In a plan view of the blank shown, the folding line 15', 16' between the first folding flap 13, 14 and the second folding flap 15, 16 forms a diagonal from the adjacent corner 31 ("second corner") of the base 2 running obliquely outwards. The diagonal separates the first folding flap from the second folding flap in its function as an axis of symmetry such that both folding flaps (first and second folding flaps) are arranged mirror-symmetrically to each other. The only difference is that in the blank shown, the first folding flap has a locking lug and the second folding flap has a connection point A. The folding flaps are essentially quadrangular in shape, excluding the cuboid-shaped recess T between the second corner 31 (bottom side) and the bottom end of the folding flaps (the latter do not touch the bottom 2). The recess T serves as a free space to ensure the unfolding of the folding flaps.A square end of the folding flaps touching the bottom would block the transfer of the side walls into an upright position, since a square end of the second folding flap touching the bottom would abut the lateral edge of the end side wall 9, 10, and a square end of the first folding flap touching the bottom would abut the lateral edge of the long side wall 7, 8, respectively, thus preventing complete unfolding. The edge formed between the first and second folding flaps, which is opposite the bottom corner 31, is formed at a right angle to the diagonal fold line 16' just described and which contributes to the mirror symmetry of the two first and second folding flaps.

[0130] The blank is folded in such a way that the end wall section 5 is folded in the Y direction, as is the opposite end wall section 6 with its display opening 22, counter to the Y direction, over the respective fold line 5' or 6' in plan view 180° from the flat outer layer, so that the inner surfaces of the end wall sections 5, 6 lie completely over and on the inner surfaces of the base 2 and the long side walls 7, 8, as shown in Fig. 1B in the first exemplary embodiment. The connection point A is then heated, hot-stamped, or glued to connect the end wall sections 5, 6 to the long sides 7, 8, thus connecting the wall sections 5, 6 to the long wall sections 3, 4. Gluing is an alternative to hot stamping orWelding is possible, and other alternative connecting means can also be used to create a non-detachable connection at connection point A. The opposite end wall section 6 is mirror-symmetrical to the end wall section 5, spaced apart by the base 2 and the longitudinal wall sections, but is provided with a U-shaped display opening 22, with legs extending straight in the direction of flow Y from the U-base. Alternatively, it is possible to design the U-legs to taper towards the U-base 22' of the display opening (not shown here).

[0131] In the direction of travel Y, the base 2 is arranged next to the end wall 9 of the end wall section 5 via the vertically shown fold line 5'. Next to the respective second folding tabs 15, 16 of the end wall section 5 is the adjacent longitudinal side wall 7, 8. The outer edge of the blank in between is shown with a continuous line. It should be emphasized that the second folding tabs 15, 16, 19, 20 are not connected to the adjacent longitudinal side walls 7, 8. The second tabs 15, 16 are therefore not connected to the longitudinal side walls. The longitudinal side walls 7, 8 are part of the longitudinal sections 3, 4, with each of the longitudinal side walls 7, 8 having a securing tab 11, 12 arranged at the longitudinal end opposite the base end of the respective longitudinal side wall, foldable via a fold line 1T, 12'.This fold line 1T, 12' has a height H3, which defines a support surface 21, which is created on the outer surface (not visible here) after the container is unfolded into its final position. Four groove-like, rectangular receptacles 25, 26 extending in the longitudinal direction L of the base 2 are provided in the base for engagement by locking lugs 13'", 14'", 17'", 18"' (alternatively or additionally 15", 16", 19", 20") of a container later arranged below in the stack. In the area of the folding line 1 T and 12' there are also groove-like, rectangular receptacles 11" and 12" extending in the longitudinal direction LT of the container, ie in the direction Y, through which the locking lugs 13'", 14'", 17'", 18'" of the first folding flaps 13, 14, 17, 18 engage when the container is folded into the final position for transport, display or storage of goods. Also shown are groove-like receptacles 13", 14", 17", and 18", which also extend in the Y direction of the container 1' in an elongated rectangular shape. These receptacles 13", 14", 17", 18" serve to accommodate the adjacent locking lugs 23, 24, 27, 28 on the respective securing tabs 11, 12, which are provided laterally on both sides of the free ends of the respective securing tabs 11, 12 and engage in the receptacles 13", 14", 17", 18" in the upright final position after unfolding the reusable display container into the goods transport, goods display, or goods storage state.

[0132] Fig. 8B shows a lid blank 40' according to a second embodiment, with positioning receptacles 43' on the long sides of the lid base 4T, which are designed to be complementary to and for positively receiving the locking lugs 13'", 14'", 17'", 18'", so that the lid is held securely in its closed position when placed on the container and is secured against displacement in its horizontal plane. A side wing 42' projecting from each of the end faces of the lid base 4T (left and right sides of the image) is shown in the illustrated blank of the lid 40'. In this second embodiment, the side wings 42' are U-shaped, with the U-legs being formed by the lateral edges (top and bottom in the image) of the side wings and the bottom of the U being formed by the edge at the free end of the respective side wing. The height H o(Y-direction) of the side wings corresponds to the height HT of the container 1' in the unfolded state (goods transport position, product display position, or goods storage position). This is important so that a container located at the bottom of a stack can reliably support the load of an upper container and the load is distributed evenly across the lid base.

[0133] A blank for the reusable display container 1 according to the first embodiment shown in Figures 1A, 1B, and 1C is shown in Figure 9A. It is a material blank made from a dimpled structure plate. Except for the dimensions, the shape of the display opening 22, and the material, the blank is identical to the blank in Figure 8A. The legs of the U-shaped display opening 22 in this blank are tapered toward the bottom of the display opening 22. The blank in Figure 9A has dimensions of 400 x 300 x 150 (LT x B, X HÜ).

[0134] Figure 9B shows the correspondingly designed lid 40 for the reusable display container blank of Figure 9A. The lid base area 41 of the lid 40 according to the first embodiment corresponds to the base area according to the dimensions specified above for the first embodiment, but preferably the base area 41 of the lid is at least one material thickness wider and / or longer than the base area of the base (2).

[0135] All blanks are punched from a hollow-core multi-wall sheet (Fig. 8A, Fig. 8B) or a dimpled-structure sheet (Fig. 9A, Fig. 9B) and form a semi-finished product. To produce the flat-folded finished product, the fold lines are pre-folded (in the folding direction) and the connection points A are activated.

[0136] Alternative cuts are possible for smaller or larger sizes of a first or second reusable display container 1, 1' according to the invention with a correspondingly matching lid 40, 40'. The display container can have a cuboid or rectangular shape.

[0137] It should be noted that the display container 1, 1' is formed in one piece, as is the lid 40, 40', and both are preferably made of the same material. The individual container sections are foldably connected to one another via the foldable fold lines. When the connection points A are unwelded or, alternatively, unglued, the respective wall sections can be folded in either folding direction.

[0138] It goes without saying that all reference numerals of the two illustrated embodiments are to be applied across the board, and only the different materials are to be differentiated with the reference numerals 1 and 1' or 40, 40'. Likewise, the dimensions and ratios mentioned as examples are transferable from the first to the second embodiment and vice versa.
