[0046] The terms “leading end,” “rear end,” “upper end,” “lower end,” “front end,” “rear end,” “top surface,” “bottom surface,” “top end,” “bottom end,” “one end,” “the other end,” “left side,” and “right side” used in this disclosure are defined based on the drawings, and the shape and position of each component are not limited by these terms.
[0047] Hereinafter, a bridge device according to one or more embodiments is described with reference to the attached drawings.
[0048] FIG. 1 is a diagram illustrating an example in which a plurality of display devices are electrically and physically connected by a bridge device according to one or more embodiments. FIG. 2 is a diagram illustrating a state before a plurality of display devices are connected by a bridge device according to one or more embodiments. In various embodiments of the present disclosure, a bridge device means a device for connecting a plurality of devices to each other. A bridge device may be otherwise referred to by various terms such as a connection device, a link device, a combine device, an assemble device, etc.
[0049] A bridge device according to one or more embodiments can electrically and physically connect two display devices. This disclosure describes an example of connecting three display devices using two bridge devices. Thus, using n bridge devices according to one or more embodiments can electrically and physically connect n+1 display devices.
[0050] Referring to FIG. 1, a bridge device according to one or more embodiments may include a first bridge device (100) that can electrically and physically connect a first display device (10) and a second display device (20), and a second bridge device (101) that can electrically and physically connect the first display device (10) and a third display device (30).
[0051] The first bridge device (100) may be disposed on one side of the rear surface (11) of the first display device (10) and one side of the rear surface (21) of the second display device (20). The second bridge device (101) may be disposed on the other side of the rear surface (11) of the first display device (10) and one side of each of the rear surfaces (31) of the third display device (30). Accordingly, the first bridge device (100) and the second bridge device (101) may not be visible from the front surfaces of the first, second, and third display devices (10, 20, 30).
[0052] A second display device (20) may be placed on the left side of the first display device (10), and a third display device (30) may be placed on the right side of the first display device (10). Since a stand (40) is connected to the bottom of the first display device (10), the first, second, and third display devices (10, 20, 30) may be placed approximately vertically on a table or the floor.
[0053] The first, second, and third display devices (10, 20, 30) may be monitors or televisions. A port (13) may be provided on the rear surface (11) of the first display device (10). The first display device (10) may receive external power and transmit and receive signals through the port (13). The port (13) of the first display device (10) may be connected to a separate device (e.g., a personal computer (PC), a video game console, a digital set-top box, etc.). The port (13) of the first display device (10) may include a video and audio terminal (e.g., a digital visual interface (DVI), a high-definition multimedia interface (HDMI), a display port (DP), a D-sub, a Sony / Philips digital interface (S / PDIF), a universal serial bus (USB) type port, etc.), a power port, a communication port, etc.
[0054] The first display device (10) may be a monitor or a TV, but is not limited thereto and may be an all-in-one PC in which the display panel and control device are integrated.
[0055] The second display device (20) and the third display device (30) can receive power and signals from the first display device (10) through the first bridge device (100) and the second bridge device (101), respectively. Therefore, the second display device (20) and the third display device (30) may not include separate ports for connecting separate cables.
[0056] The second display device (20) can receive power from the first display device (10) through the first bridge device (100). The second display device (20) can transmit and receive signals with the first display device (10) or a separate control device connected to the first display device (10) through the first bridge device (100). The third display device (30) can receive power from the first display device (10) through the second bridge device (101). The third display device (30) can transmit and receive signals with the first display device (10) or a separate control device connected to the first display device (10) through the second bridge device (101).
[0057] Referring to FIG. 2, the first, second, and third display devices (10, 20, 30) may each have docking holes provided on both sides of the rear surface. In this case, the first coupling member (161, see FIG. 6) and the second coupling member (162, see FIG. 6) of the first bridge device (100) may be electrically and physically connected to the first docking member (200, see FIG. 13) and the second docking member (201, see FIG. 13) through the first docking hole (15) of the first display device (10) and the second docking hole (23) of the second display device (20), respectively.
[0058] A first docking groove (260) of a first docking member (200) that is elastically movable and provided on the inside of the first display device (10) may be exposed in a first docking hole (15) of the first display device (10). A second docking groove (260') of a second docking member (201) that is elastically movable and provided on the inside of the second display device (20) may be exposed in a second docking hole (23) of the second display device (20).
[0059] The first docking hole (15) of the first display device (10) and the second docking hole (23) of the second display device (20) are opened because the first bridge device (100) is connected. In this case, the third docking hole (25) of the second display device (20) and the fourth docking hole (35) of the third display device (30), to which the bridge device is not connected, can be closed by the first lid (50) and the second lid (60), respectively.
[0060] Since the first lead (50) and the second lead (60) are substantially identical, the description of the second lead (60) will be omitted below and the first lead (50) will be described with reference to the drawings. Fig. 3 is a perspective view showing a lead applied to a display device according to one or more embodiments.
[0061] Referring to FIG. 3, the first lead (50) may have an outer surface corresponding to the third docking hole (25) of the second display device (20). A protrusion (51) may be formed on one surface of the first lead (50). The protrusion (51) of the first lead (50) may be provided to correspond to a third docking groove (not shown) of a third docking member (not shown) corresponding to the third docking hole (25). Here, the third docking groove of the third docking member may be configured to be substantially the same as the first docking groove (260) of the first docking member (200).
[0062] A plurality of permanent magnets (53) may be provided at regular intervals on the protrusion (51) of the first lead (50). When the protrusion (51) of the first lead (50) is inserted into the docking groove of the third docking member, an attractive force acts between the plurality of permanent magnets (53) of the first lead (50) and the plurality of permanent magnets (not shown) provided on the third docking member, so that the first lead (50) can be detachably coupled to the first docking member (200). Accordingly, the first lead (50) can easily close or open the third docking hole (25) of the second display device (20) by magnetic force. Here, the plurality of permanent magnets of the third docking member may be configured substantially the same as the plurality of permanent magnets (240, see FIG. 11) of the first docking member (200).
[0063] FIG. 4 is a diagram illustrating a folding operation of a plurality of display devices connected by a bridge device according to one or more embodiments. FIG. 5 is an enlarged view illustrating part A shown in FIG. 4.
[0064] Referring to FIG. 4, the second display device (20) and the third display device (30) can be folded at a predetermined angle with respect to the first display device (10) by the first bridge device (100) and the second bridge device (101), respectively. The first bridge device (100) and the second bridge device (101) can be formed of a bendable structure and material. The structure and material of the first bridge device (100) and the second bridge device (101) will be described later.
[0065] Referring to FIG. 5, when the second display device (20) is folded at a predetermined angle with respect to the first display device (10), the side surface (17) of the first display device (10) and the side surface (27) of the second display device (20) come into contact with each other. In this case, the side surface (17) of the first display device (10) and the side surface (27) of the second display device (20) may have a predetermined curved surface so as to protrude in a direction facing each other. The curvature of the side surface (17) of the first display device (10) and the curvature of the side surface (27) of the second display device (20) may be substantially the same.
[0066] The side surface (17) of the first display device (10) and the side surface (27) of the second display device (20) can be in linear contact along the vertical direction of the first display device (10) and the second display device (20). In this case, the tangent line formed by the side surface (17) of the first display device (10) and the side surface (27) of the second display device (20) can function as a hinge axis (H), which is the center of rotation of the first display device (10) and the second display device (20).
[0067] For example, when the first display device (10) and the second display device (20) are arranged parallel to each other and the second display device (20) is folded forward, the second display device (20) rotates around the hinge axis (H). The hinge axis (H) is not fixed to one point, but moves from the rear to the front of the second display device (20).
[0068] The central portion (M) of the first bridge device (100) is bent so as not to interfere with the rotational motion of the second display device (20) around the hinge axis (H). Accordingly, the second display device (20) can be smoothly folded at a predetermined angle with respect to the first display device (10).
[0069] Since the first bridge device (100) and the second bridge device (101) are substantially identical, the description of the second bridge device (101) is omitted below and the first bridge device (100) is described with reference to the drawings.
[0070] Figures 6 and 7 are exploded views illustrating a bridge device according to one or more embodiments. Figure 8 is a front view illustrating a bridge device according to one or more embodiments. Figure 9 is a cross-sectional view taken along the line B-B' illustrated in Figure 8. Figure 10 is an enlarged view illustrating portion C illustrated in Figure 9.
[0071] Referring to FIGS. 6 to 8, the first bridge device (100) may include a first cover (110), a second cover (120) corresponding to the first cover (110), a support member disposed between the first cover (110) and the second cover (120), an FPCB (flexible printed circuit board) (150) for electrically connecting the first display device (10) and the second display device (20), and a first connecting member (161) and a second connecting member (162) to which both sides of the FPCB (150) are fixed.
[0072] The first cover (110) may have a predetermined length in the vertical direction of the first display device (10) and the second display device (20). The length of the first cover (110) (length along the Z-axis direction) may be smaller than the vertical lengths of the first display device (10) and the second display device (20). For example, the length of the first cover (110) may be approximately 70 to 99% of the vertical lengths of the first display device (10) and the second display device (20) (see FIG. 1). The length of the first cover (110) may be such that the first cover (110) is not exposed to the front of the first display device (10) and the second display device (20) by being covered by the first display device (10) and the second display device (20), and the first display device (10) and the second display device (20) are prevented from twisting in opposite directions around the X-axis of FIG. 1.
[0073] The first cover (110) may be made of a material having flexibility and toughness. For example, the first cover (110) may be made of rubber or elastic synthetic resin. The first cover (110) may be smoothly bent around the Z-axis and a plurality of first grooves (110a) may be formed along the longitudinal direction of the first cover (110) on the outer surface of the first cover (110) to minimize twisting around the X-axis.
[0074] The first cover (110) may have a receiving groove (111) provided on one surface to which the second cover (120) is coupled. The receiving groove (115, see FIG. 10) of the first cover (110) may accommodate a bending member (130), a first reinforcing plate (141), a second reinforcing plate (142), and an FPCB (150). The second cover (120) may be coupled to the first cover (110) after the bending member (130), the first reinforcing plate (141), the second reinforcing plate (142), and the FPCB (150) are accommodated in the receiving groove (115) of the first cover (110). Accordingly, the bending member (130), the first reinforcing plate (141), the second reinforcing plate (142), and the FPCB (150) are placed between the first cover (110) and the second cover (120) and can be protected from external impact.
[0075] The second cover (120) may have a plurality of second grooves (120a) formed along the length of the second cover (120) on the outer surface similar to the first cover (110). The second cover (120) may be made of the same material as the first cover (110).
[0076] The support member may include a bending member (130), a first reinforcing plate (141) and a second reinforcing plate (142) connected by the bending member (130).
[0077] The bending member (130) may be made of a flexible plastic film. The bending member (130) may be arranged along the longitudinal direction of the first cover (110). The bending member (130) may be arranged in the middle portion of the first bridge device (100). In this case, the bending member (130) may be attached to the receiving groove (111) of the first cover (110) by a first adhesive member (133). The first adhesive member (133, see FIG. 10) may be, for example, an easy-to-use double-sided adhesive tape.
[0078] The first reinforcing plate (141) and the second reinforcing plate (142) can be respectively coupled to both sides of the bending member (130) along the longitudinal direction of the bending member (130). For example, the first reinforcing plate (141) can have one rear side (141c) attached to one front side (131) of the bending member (130) by an adhesive member (e.g., double-sided adhesive tape) (143). The second reinforcing plate (142) can have one rear side (142c) attached to the other front side (132) of the bending member (130) by an adhesive member. In addition, the front sides (141a, 142a) of the first reinforcing plate (141) and the second reinforcing plate (142) and the rear sides (123a, 123b) of the second cover (120) may be connected by a second adhesive member (145a, see FIG. 10) and a third adhesive member (145b, see FIG. 10). The second adhesive member (145a) and the third adhesive member (145b) may be, for example, an easy-to-use double-sided adhesive tape.
[0079] The FPCB (150) can electrically connect the first display device (10) and the second display device (20). The FPCB (150) can have a first connector (151) and a second connector (152) mounted on both ends. The first connector (151) and the second connector (152) can each be provided with a plurality of pogo pins (151a, 152a). The plurality of pogo pins (151a, 152a) can each include a barrel made of a conductive metal and a plunger that is flexibly supported by a coil spring built into the barrel and is coupled to a tip of the barrel so as to be able to move forward and backward.
[0080] The first connector (151) may be electrically connected to the first display device (10). For example, the first connector (151) may be electrically connected to a first docking member (200) provided in the first display device (10). The first docking member (200) may include a printed circuit board (210, see FIG. 12) provided with a plurality of terminals (270, see FIG. 12) to which a plurality of pogo pins (151a) of the first connector (151) are electrically connected. The printed circuit board (210) of the first docking member (200) may be electrically connected to a separate printed circuit board (not shown) provided in the first display device (10). In this case, the first docking member (200) may also be moved when the first bridge device (100) is bent. Accordingly, the printed circuit board (210) of the first docking member (200) can be electrically connected to the printed circuit board of the first display device (10) through a separate FBCB (not shown). A plurality of terminals (270') are also arranged in the second docking groove (260') of the second docking member (201).
[0081] The second connector (152) may be electrically connected to the second display device (20). For example, the second connector (152) may be electrically connected to a second docking member (201) provided in the second display device (20). The second connector (152) may have the same structure as the first connector (151).
[0082] The first connecting member (161) can be connected to the first reinforcing plate (141) through the first through hole (121) provided in the second cover (120). For example, the first connecting member (161) can be fastened to the first reinforcing plate (141) through a plurality of screws.
[0083] The first coupling member (161) can be detachably inserted into the first docking groove (260) of the first docking member (200). The first coupling member (161) can have a connector coupling groove (161a) provided at approximately the center portion of the rear surface, into which the first connector (151) is coupled. The connector coupling groove (161a) can have a plurality of pin holes (161b) provided into which a plurality of pogo pins (151a) of the first connector (151) are inserted.
[0084] On the rear side of the first coupling member (161), a plurality of magnetic coupling grooves (161c), in which a plurality of permanent magnets (164) are coupled to the upper and lower sides of the connector coupling groove (161a), may be provided along the longitudinal direction of the first coupling member (161). When the first coupling member (161) is inserted into the first docking groove (260) of the first docking member (200), an attractive force acts between the plurality of permanent magnets (164) of the first coupling member (161) and the plurality of permanent magnets (240, see FIG. 14) provided on the first docking member (200), so that the first coupling member (161) can be detachably coupled to the first docking member (200). Therefore, the bridge device (100) according to an example of the present disclosure can be easily mounted and detached from the first docking member (200) without having separate screws and tools for fastening and disassembling the screws. A plurality of permanent magnets (164) coupled to the first connector (151) may correspond to the first reinforcing plate (141). Accordingly, the first reinforcing plate (141) may be a magnetic material. Accordingly, the first reinforcing plate (141) may function as a yoke that increases the magnetic force of the plurality of permanent magnets (164).
[0085] The second coupling member (162) can be coupled to the second reinforcing plate (142) through the second through hole (122) provided in the second cover (120). The second coupling member (162) can be detachably inserted into the second docking groove (260') of the second docking member (201). The second reinforcing plate (142) can be a magnetic material, and the second reinforcing plate (142) can function as a yoke that increases the magnetic force of a plurality of permanent magnets (164).
[0086] The second coupling member (162) may be configured substantially the same as the first coupling member (161). For example, the second coupling member (162) may be provided with a connector coupling groove (162a) in which a second connector (152) is coupled at approximately the center portion of the rear surface. The connector coupling groove (162a) may be provided with a plurality of pin holes (162b) into which a plurality of pogo pins (152a) of the second connector (152) are inserted. On the rear surface of the second coupling member (162), a plurality of magnetic coupling grooves (162c) may be provided along the longitudinal direction of the second coupling member (162), in which a plurality of permanent magnets (164) are coupled to the upper and lower sides of the connector coupling groove (162a), respectively.
[0087] Referring to Fig. 8, the first coupling member (161) and the second coupling member (162) may be arranged approximately parallel with a gap therebetween. The first coupling member (161) and the second coupling member (162) may have the same length and may be arranged symmetrically around the central axis of the first bridge device (100) (the axis of the spur parallel to the Z-axis of Fig. 8).
[0088] Referring to FIGS. 9 and 10, the first bridge device (100) may be arranged such that a plurality of components are stacked in a bendable state. The front surface of the first cover (110) may be attached to the bending member (130), the first reinforcing plate (141), and the rear surface of each of the second reinforcing plate (142) by a first adhesive member (133). The front surface of the bending member (130) may be attached to the center of the rear surface of the second cover (120) by a second adhesive member (145a), and the front surfaces of the first reinforcing plate (141) and the second reinforcing plate (142) may be attached to both sides of the rear surface of the second cover (120) by a second adhesive member (145b).
[0089] In this way, the center of the first bridge device (100) can be bent by the first cover (110), the second cover (120), and the bending member (130). On both sides of the first bridge device, the first connecting member (161) and the second connecting member (162) can be firmly fixed by the first reinforcing plate (141) and the second reinforcing plate (142), respectively. Therefore, the first bridge device (100) can be formed so that the center can be bent, and the two sides can have a predetermined strength without being bent.
[0090] Hereinafter, the first docking member (200) and the second docking member (201) to which the first bridge device (100) is electrically and physically detachably connected will be described. Since the second docking member (201) has substantially the same configuration as the first docking member (200), a detailed description thereof will be omitted.
[0091] Figures 11 and 12 are perspective views illustrating a docking member of a bridge device according to one or more embodiments. Figure 13 is a drawing illustrating an example in which a docking member of a bridge device according to one or more embodiments is flexibly positioned on a display device. Figure 14 is a drawing illustrating an example in which a portion of a docking member of a bridge device according to one or more embodiments is exposed to the rear of a display device.
[0092] Referring to FIGS. 11 and 12, the first docking member (200) may include a printed circuit board (210), a protrusion (230) protruding from the rear surface of the printed circuit board (210), a plurality of permanent magnets (240) coupled to the protrusion (230), a plurality of first catching protrusions (250) provided on one side of the printed circuit board (210), and a first docking groove (260) provided on the front surface of the printed circuit board (210).
[0093] The printed circuit board (210) of the first docking member (200) may be a rigid type printed circuit board. The printed circuit board (210) of the first docking member (200) may be provided with a plurality of wires (not shown) that are electrically connected to a plurality of terminals (270) arranged within the first docking groove (260). In this case, the plurality of wires may be electrically connected to another printed circuit board (not shown) of the first display device (10) by a separate FPCB (not shown).
[0094] The protrusion (230) of the first docking member (200) may be formed integrally with the printed circuit board (210) of the first docking member (200). The protrusion (230) may be provided with a plurality of coupling grooves (231) to which a plurality of permanent magnets (240) are coupled. The plurality of permanent magnets (240) of the first docking member (200) may be arranged to correspond to the plurality of permanent magnets (164) provided in the first coupling member (161) of the first bridge device (100). Accordingly, when the first coupling member (161) of the first bridge device (100) is inserted into the first docking groove (260) of the first docking member (200), an attractive force acts between the plurality of permanent magnets (240) of the first docking member (200) and the plurality of permanent magnets (164) of the first coupling member (161), so that the first coupling member (161) can be detachably coupled to the first docking groove (260) of the first docking member (200). Therefore, in order to couple and separate the first coupling member (161) to and from the first docking groove (260) of the first docking member (200), a separate screw and a tool for fastening and detaching the screw are not required.
[0095] Referring to FIG. 13, a plurality of first catching protrusions (250) of the first docking member (200) are connected to one end of an elastic member (253) that elastically connects the first docking member (200) to the first display device (10). The other end of the elastic member (253) may be connected to a plurality of second catching protrusions (251) provided on the first display device (10). The elastic member (253) may be a coil spring and may be provided in plurality. The first docking member (200) may slide along the X-axis direction on the inside of the first display device (10) when the first bridge device (100) is bent. In this case, the first docking member (200) maintains a state of being connected to the first coupling member (161) of the first bridge device (100), thereby maintaining an electrical and physical connection between the first bridge device (100) and the first display device (10).
[0096] The protrusion (230) of the first docking member (200) can be inserted into the first opening (18) provided in the first display device (10). In this case, the width (W1) of the protrusion (230) of the first docking member (200) can be formed to be smaller than the width (W2) of the first opening (18) so that the first docking member (200) can flow along the X-axis direction.
[0097] The second display device (20) may be provided with a second opening (28) into which the protrusion (230') of the second docking member (201) can be movably inserted. The second docking member (201), like the first docking member (200), may be elastically connected to the second display device (20) in a slidable manner along the X-axis direction by a plurality of elastic members (253').
[0098] Referring to FIG. 14, the width (W3) of the docking groove (260) of the first docking member (200) may be formed to be smaller than the width (W4) of the first docking hole (15) of the first display device (10). When the first coupling member (161) of the first bridge device (100) is inserted into the docking groove (260) of the first docking member (200) through the first docking hole (15) of the first display device (10), the first coupling member (161) of the first bridge device (100) can move along the X-axis direction together with the first docking member (200) without interfering with the first docking hole (15) of the first display device (10).
[0099] The width of the docking groove (260') of the second docking member (201) may be formed smaller than the width of the second docking hole (23) of the second display device (20). Therefore, when the second connecting member (162) of the first bridge device (100) is inserted into the docking groove (260') of the second docking member (201) through the second docking hole (23) of the second display device (20), the second connecting member (162) of the first bridge device (100) can move along the X-axis direction together with the second docking member (201) without interfering with the second docking hole (23) of the second display device (20).
[0100] FIG. 15 is a perspective view illustrating a plurality of wheel stoppers provided in a display device according to one or more embodiments. FIG. 16 is an enlarged view illustrating portion D shown in FIG. 15. FIG. 17 is an exploded view illustrating a wheel stopper provided in a display device according to one or more embodiments. FIG. 18 is a drawing illustrating a wheel stopper provided in a display device according to one or more embodiments.
[0101] Referring to Fig. 15, the first display device (10) can be mounted on the floor via a stand (40). In this case, the second display device (20) and the third display device (30) can be provided with a plurality of wheel stoppers (300) at their respective lower ends (24, 34). The plurality of wheel stoppers (300) can support the second display device (20) and the third display device (30) so that the second display device (20) and the third display device (30) can be folded with respect to the first display device (10).
[0102] The plurality of wheel stoppers (300) can rotate while folding the second display device (20) and the third display device (30) with respect to the first display device (10). The plurality of wheel stoppers (300) can be locked so that the second display device (20) and the third display device (30) remain in a folded state when the folding operation of the second display device (20) and the third display device (30) is stopped.
[0103] Referring to FIGS. 16 and 17, the wheel stopper (300) may include a wheel (310) and a locker (350) that locks the rotation of the wheel (310).
[0104] The wheel (310) can be rotatably placed in a receiving hole (21a) provided at the bottom (24) of the second display device (20). On both sides of the wheel (310), a pair of rotation axes (312a, 312b) can be provided that are rotatably inserted into a pair of support grooves (21b, 21c) formed to extend on both sides of the receiving hole (21a).
[0105] The wheel (310) can rotate the second display device (20) clockwise or counterclockwise around the hinge axis (H, see FIG. 5) when the second display device (20) is rotated forward or backward while the second display device (20) is parallel to the first display device (10). The wheel (310) can support the second display device (20) so that the second display device (20) can be smoothly folded and unfolded.
[0106] The wheel (310) may have a portion thereof protrude further than the bottom (24) of the second display device (20) when the wheel (310) is placed in the receiving hole (21a). The wheel (310) may be rotated so that the bottom (24) of the second display device (20) can move without friction with the floor when the second display device (20) is folded with respect to the first display device (10).
[0107] A friction member (330) may be coupled to the outer side of the wheel (310). The friction member (330) may surround a portion of the outer side of the wheel (310). When the wheel (310) is locked by the rocker (350), the friction member (330) may prevent the wheel (310) from rotating by applying frictional force to the floor. Accordingly, the rotation of the wheel (310) may be prevented or minimized by the friction member (330) and the rocker (350), so that the second display device (20) may be maintained in a state folded at a predetermined angle.
[0108] Referring to Fig. 18, the wheel (310) may be provided with a plurality of locking grooves (311) on the outer periphery. A front end (351a) of a latch (351) connected to a locker (350) may be inserted into the plurality of locking grooves (311). The latch (351) may have a rear end (not shown) rotatably connected to the locker (350). In this case, the rear end of the latch (351) may be elastically connected to the locker (350) by a separate elastic member (not shown).
[0109] For example, when folding the second display device (20) with respect to the first display device (10), if the wheel (310) comes into contact with the ground and rotates clockwise, the tip (351a) of the latch (351) is pushed by the protrusion (312) between the adjacent locking grooves (311) and rotates counterclockwise, and when the protrusion (312) passes the tip (351a) of the latch (351), it rotates clockwise by the elastic force of a separate elastic member and returns to the original position. When the folding operation of the second display device (20) is completed and no external force is applied to rotate the wheel (310), and the wheel (310) has stopped, the tip (351a) of the latch (351) is inserted into the locking groove (311) of the wheel (310). In this case, the latch (351) can prevent the wheel (310) from rotating by the elastic force of a separate elastic member. Accordingly, the second display device (20) can maintain the folding posture by the plurality of wheel stoppers (300).
[0110] A plurality of stoppers (300) may be arranged on both sides of the lower portion of the second display device (20) and the third display device (30) as shown in FIG. 15, but the present invention is not limited thereto. For example, the stoppers (300) of the second display device (20) and the third display device (30) adjacent to the first display device (10) may be omitted. In addition, when the second display device (20) and the third display device (30) are large in size, the stoppers (300) may be provided at least three stoppers (300) per second display device (20) and per third display device (30) so that the second display device (20) and the third display device (30) can be folded smoothly by supporting the weight of the second display device (20) and the third display device (30).
[0111] FIG. 19 is a block diagram illustrating a display device according to one or more embodiments. FIG. 20 is a diagram illustrating an example of a user interface for selecting various devices connected to a first display device according to one or more embodiments.
[0112] Referring to FIG. 19, a display device according to one or more embodiments, for example, a first display device (10), may include a memory (410) and a processor (430).
[0113] Memory (410) may refer to hardware that stores information such as data in an electrical or magnetic form so that a processor (430) or the like can access it. To this end, memory (410) may be implemented as at least one piece of hardware from among non-volatile memory, volatile memory, flash memory, hard disk drive (HDD), solid state drive (SSD), RAM, ROM, etc.
[0114] The memory (410) may store at least one instruction required for the operation of the first display device (10) or the processor (430). Here, the instruction is a unit of code that instructs the operation of the display device (10) or the processor (430), and may be written in machine language, which is a language that a computer can understand. Alternatively, the memory (410) may store a plurality of instructions that perform specific tasks of the display device (10) or the processor (430) as an instruction set. The memory (410) may store data, which is information in bit or byte units that can represent characters, numbers, images, etc. For example, the memory (410) may store a screen setting module, etc. The memory (410) is accessed by the processor (430), and reading / writing / modifying / deleting / updating instructions, instruction sets, or data can be performed by the processor (430).
[0115] The processor (430) can control the overall operation of the first, second, and third display devices (10, 20, 30). Specifically, the processor (430) is connected to each component of the first display device (10) and can control the overall operation of the first display device (10). For example, the processor (430) can control the second display device (20) through the first bridge device (100) and control the third display device (30) through the second bridge device (101).
[0116] At least one processor (430) may include one or more of a CPU, a GPU (Graphics Processing Unit), an APU (Accelerated Processing Unit), a MIC (Many Integrated Core), an NPU (Neural Processing Unit), a hardware accelerator, or a machine learning accelerator. At least one processor (430) may control one or any combination of other components of the first display device (10) and may perform operations or data processing related to communication. At least one processor (430) may execute one or more programs or instructions stored in the memory (410).
[0117] At least one processor (430) may be implemented as a single core processor including one core, or may be implemented as one or more multicore processors including multiple cores (e.g., homogeneous multicores or heterogeneous multicores). When at least one processor (430) is implemented as a multicore processor, each of the multiple cores included in the multicore processor may include an internal processor memory, such as a cache memory or an on-chip memory, and a common cache shared by the multiple cores may be included in the multicore processor. In addition, each of the multiple cores (or some of the multiple cores) included in the multicore processor may independently read and execute a program instruction for implementing a method according to an embodiment of the present disclosure, or all (or some) of the multiple cores may be linked to read and execute a program instruction for implementing a method according to an embodiment of the present disclosure.
[0118] The first bridge device (100) connecting the first display device (10) and the second display device (20) may include a sensor (290) (e.g., a flex sensor) capable of detecting the folding angle of the first display device (10) and the second display device (20). The sensor (290) may be mounted on a portion of the first bridge device (100) where it bends, for example, on an FPCB (150).
[0119] The sensor (290) can detect the folding angles of the first display device (10) and the second display device (20) in real time and transmit the detection values to the processor (430). The processor (430) can store the detection values transmitted from the sensor (290) in the memory (410). The processor (430) can calculate the detection values transmitted from the sensor (290) as values corresponding to the folding angles and display them as images in the form of numbers or instrument panels on the first display device (10) or the second display device (20).
[0120] A plurality of driving motors (291) for driving wheels (310) of a plurality of wheel stoppers (300) may be provided in the second display device (20) and the third display device (30), respectively. The processor (430) may control forward rotation, reverse rotation, and stop operations of the plurality of driving motors (291) through the first bridge device (100) and the second bridge device (101).
[0121] The memory (410) can store at least one folding angle data input by a user through an input device (e.g., a keyboard, a mouse, a touch screen, etc.). The folding angle data can be at least one folding angle between the first display device (10) and the second display device (20) or at least one folding angle between the first display device (10) and the third display device (30).
[0122] At least one folding angle data may be matched to at least one device (not shown) (e.g., a personal computer (PC), a console device for running a game application, etc.) connected to the first display device (10). For example, when at least two PCs and at least two console devices are connected to the first display device (10), the processor (430) may display a user interface (400) for selecting devices connected to the first display device (10) on the screen of the third display device (30) as shown in FIG. 20. The processor (430) may display the user interface (400) on the first display device (10) or the second display device (20) rather than the third display device (30).
[0123] When one of the devices displayed on the user interface (400) is selected by the user, the processor (430) can determine a folding angle corresponding to the selected device among the folding angles pre-stored in the memory (410) and control the driving of the plurality of drive motors (291). Accordingly, the wheels (310) of the plurality of wheel stoppers (300) can be rotated by the plurality of drive motors (291) to set the second display device (20) and the third display device (30) to the folding angle corresponding to the selected device with respect to the first display device (10).
[0124] At least one folding angle data may be matched to various applications stored in a separate memory of at least one device connected to the first display device (10). For example, when one application stored in at least one device is driven by a user, the processor (430) may determine a folding angle corresponding to the driven application among the folding angles pre-stored in the memory (410) and control the driving of the plurality of driving motors (291). Accordingly, the wheels (310) of the plurality of wheel stoppers (300) may be rotated by the plurality of driving motors (291) to set the second display device (20) and the third display device (30) to a folding angle corresponding to the application driving the first display device (10).
[0125] In the present disclosure, the driving motor (291) for driving the wheels (310) of the plurality of wheel stoppers (300) may be omitted. In this case, the processor (430) may detect that the second display device (20) and the third display device (30) are folded by the user through the sensors (290) provided in the first bridge device (100) and the second bridge device (101), respectively. When the folding operation of the second display device (20) or the third display device (30) is detected through the sensors (290), the processor (430) may display the folding angle in real time on the screen of the display device being folded.
[0126] As another example, the processor (430) may display the user interface (400) described above on one of the first, second, and third display devices (10, 20, 30) when a folding operation of the second display device (20) or the third display device (30) is detected through the sensor (290).
[0127] FIG. 21 is a plan view illustrating an example of a pair of display devices folded in opposite directions according to one or more embodiments.
[0128] Referring to FIG. 21, the first display device (10) and the second display device (20) can be folded so that the rear side (11) of the first display device (10) and the rear side (21) of the second display device (20) face each other while being electrically and physically connected by the first bridge device (100).
[0129] The front side (12) of the first display device (10) and the front side (22) of the second display device (20) may face opposite to each other. In this case, the first display device (10) and the second display device (20) can maintain a folding posture by means of a connecting member (500).
[0130] The length of the connecting member (500) may be substantially the same as the length of the first lead (50, see FIG. 2). One side (501) of the connecting member (500) may be inserted into the fifth docking hole (14) of the first display device (10), and the other side (502) of the connecting member (500) may be inserted into the third docking hole (25) of the second display device (20).
[0131] The connecting member (500) may be provided with a first protrusion (510) and a second protrusion (520) on both sides. The first protrusion (510) and the second protrusion (520) may have substantially the same length as the protrusion (51, see FIG. 3) of the first lead (50). A plurality of permanent magnets (not shown) may be provided on each of the first protrusion (510) and the second protrusion (520).
[0132] As shown in Fig. 21, when a connecting member (500) is placed between a first display device (10) and a second display device (20), an attractive force may be applied between a plurality of permanent magnets of the connecting member (500) and a plurality of permanent magnets (not shown) of docking members (not shown) provided in each of the first display device (10) and the second display device (20). Accordingly, the first display device (10) and the second display device (20) may be maintained in a folded state by the connecting member (500).
[0133] When the first display device (10) and the second display device (20) are folded so that the front side (12) of the first display device (10) and the front side (22) of the second display device (20) face opposite directions, the processor (430) can display the same content on each screen of the first display device (10) and the second display device (20). For example, a counselor and a customer facing each other can proceed with a consultation while viewing the same content through the first display device (10) and the second display device (20).
[0134] FIG. 22 is a plan view showing an example of three display devices folded to form an approximate triangle according to one or more embodiments.
[0135] Referring to FIG. 22, the first, second, and third display devices (10, 20, 30) can be folded so that their respective front surfaces (12, 22, 32) face different directions. The second display device (20) and the third display device (30) can each be folded at approximately 60 degrees with respect to the first display device (10). The second display device (20) and the third display device (30) can maintain the folded state as shown in FIG. 22 by a plurality of wheel stoppers (300) provided at the bottom of each.
[0136] FIG. 23 is a front view showing an example of providing an auxiliary display device using a bridge device on the top of a display device according to one or more embodiments.
[0137] Referring to FIG. 23, an auxiliary display device (70) may be electrically and physically connected to the top of the first display device (10) by a third bridge device (103). The size of the auxiliary display device (70) may be smaller than the size of the first display device (10).
[0138] The auxiliary display device (70) can be folded at a predetermined angle with respect to the first display device (10) by the third bridge device (103). In this case, the third bridge device (103) may have a bending member (130') provided therein and may be made of metal having a bendable thickness. The bending member (130') may prevent the auxiliary display device (70) from being folded at an undesired angle due to its own weight. Most of the components constituting the third bridge device (70) may be substantially the same as those of the first bridge device (10, see FIG. 6) except for the bending member (130').
[0139] The processor (430) can control the screen of the first display device (10) and the screen of the auxiliary display device (70) to display different contents. For example, the processor (430) can control the screen of the first display device (10) to display contents being broadcast on a first channel of public broadcasting, and the screen of the auxiliary display device (70) to display contents being broadcast on a second channel of public broadcasting. Alternatively, the processor (430) can control the screen of the first display device (10) to display securities-related contents of cable broadcasting, and the screen of the auxiliary display device (70) to display securities-related sites available on the Internet.
[0140] FIG. 24 is a front view showing an example of arranging multiple display devices vertically according to one or more embodiments and connecting each display device with multiple bridge devices.
[0141] Referring to FIG. 24, the fourth, fifth, and sixth display devices (81, 82, 83) may be arranged vertically. The fourth display device (81) and the fifth display device (82) may be connected by the fourth and fifth bridge devices (104, 105). The fourth display device (81) and the sixth display device (83) may be connected by the sixth and seventh bridge devices (106, 107).
[0142] The fourth bridge device (104) and the fifth bridge device (105) can electrically and physically connect the fourth display device (81) and the fifth display device (82), respectively.
