Abstract
Description
How to determine electronic devices, recording media, and address metadata
[0001] The present disclosure relates to an electronic device and a method for determining address metadata thereof, and more particularly, to a method for determining address metadata for an area of interest on a map.
[0002] Typically, various address-related information is stored in databases on servers in the relevant country. For example, maps and their corresponding address metadata (e.g., postal codes, building numbers, street addresses) are matched and stored in national or public institution databases. Therefore, even general users can obtain address metadata for a specific location by using map coordinates, such as latitude and longitude.
[0003] However, in some countries, address metadata is not stored in a database. Therefore, even if the coordinates of a specific location are known on a map, it may be impossible to obtain the address metadata for that location electronically. Furthermore, even if address metadata is computerized, it can be subject to change due to external factors (e.g., changes in government policy or regulations of public institutions), and these changes may not be reflected in real time in the computer system.
[0004] According to one embodiment of the present disclosure, a technical problem is to construct an independent database of address metadata corresponding to information on a map.
[0005] According to one embodiment of the present disclosure, a technical problem is to construct a database of accurate address metadata in a simple manner by dividing a map into a plurality of polygonal areas and obtaining and estimating address metadata of the plurality of polygonal areas.
[0006] According to one embodiment of the present disclosure, a technical problem is to construct a database of address metadata that can be updated in real time.
[0007] A method for determining address metadata of an electronic device of an electronic device according to one embodiment of the present disclosure may include: dividing an area of interest into a plurality of polygonal areas of a first level; acquiring address metadata of the plurality of polygonal areas of the first level; identifying polygonal areas adjacent to a first polygonal area among the plurality of polygonal areas of the first level; and determining whether address metadata of the first polygonal area is appropriate based on the address metadata of the polygonal areas adjacent to the first polygonal area.
[0008] According to one embodiment, the step of determining whether the address metadata of the first polygonal area is appropriate may include the step of determining that the address metadata of the first polygonal area is appropriate in response to the address metadata of the first polygonal area and polygonal areas adjacent to the first polygonal area all matching.
[0009] According to one embodiment, the step of determining whether the address metadata of the first polygonal area is appropriate may include: determining that the address metadata of the first polygonal area is inappropriate in response to a mismatch in the address metadata of the first polygonal area and the polygonal areas adjacent to the first polygonal area; and determining the address metadata of the first polygonal area divided into polygonal areas having one or more levels from a second level to an Nth level by performing an address determination operation multiple times on the first polygonal area of the first level. According to one embodiment, the address determination operation may include: dividing a predetermined polygonal area of a Kth level, for which the address metadata is determined to be inappropriate, into a plurality of polygonal areas of a (K+1)th level, wherein K is an integer less than N and greater than or equal to 1; obtaining the address metadata of the plurality of polygonal areas of the (K+1)th level; confirming polygonal areas adjacent to the predetermined polygonal area of the (K+1)th level; And, based on the address metadata of the predetermined polygonal area of the (K+1)th level and the adjacent polygonal areas, it may include a step of determining whether the address metadata of the predetermined polygonal area of the (K+1)th level is appropriate.
[0010] In one embodiment, the N may be a preset threshold based on the amount of available resources of the electronic device.
[0011] A method for determining address metadata according to one embodiment may further include: confirming that address metadata of a second polygonal area among a plurality of polygonal areas having an arbitrary level has been changed from a first address metadata to a second address metadata; confirming at least one polygonal area among the plurality of polygonal areas having the arbitrary level, which has the first address metadata as address metadata and is continuous from the second polygonal area; and performing the address determination operation multiple times on an address change area including the second polygonal area and the at least one polygonal area, thereby determining address metadata of the address change area divided into polygonal areas having one or more levels from the second level to the Nth level.
[0012] According to one embodiment, the step of confirming that the address metadata of the second polygonal area has changed from the first address metadata to the second address metadata may include the step of obtaining from the user's terminal device that the address metadata of the second polygonal area is the second address metadata.
[0013] According to one embodiment, the step of confirming that the address metadata of the second polygonal area has changed from the first address metadata to the second address metadata may include the step of obtaining from an external server that the address metadata of the second polygonal area is the second address metadata.
[0014] A method for determining address metadata according to one embodiment may further include, in response to failure to acquire address metadata of a third polygonal area among a plurality of polygonal areas of the first level, identifying polygonal areas adjacent to the third polygonal area; in response to all of the address metadata of the polygonal areas adjacent to the third polygonal area matching, determining the address metadata of the third polygonal area as the address metadata of the polygonal areas adjacent to the third polygonal area; and in response to the address metadata of the polygonal areas adjacent to the third polygonal area not matching, performing the address determination operation multiple times on the third polygonal area of the first level, thereby determining the address metadata of the third polygonal area divided into polygonal areas having one or more levels from a second level to an Nth level.
[0015] According to one embodiment, the step of obtaining address metadata of the plurality of polygonal areas of the first level may include, for each of the plurality of polygonal areas of the first level, the step of obtaining address metadata of a predetermined specific area within the polygonal area from an external server.
[0016] According to one embodiment, the polygonal region may be one of a regular hexagonal region, a square region, or an equilateral triangle region.
[0017] In one embodiment, the address metadata may be postal code information.
[0018] According to one embodiment, the step of determining whether the address metadata of the first polygonal area is appropriate may include the step of determining that the address metadata of the first polygonal area is appropriate in response to a ratio of the address metadata of each of the first polygonal area and adjacent polygonal areas matching each other being greater than or equal to a preset threshold ratio.
[0019] An electronic device according to one embodiment of the present disclosure comprises: a communication circuit communicably connected to a user terminal; one or more processors; and one or more memories storing one or more instructions, wherein the one or more processors are configured to execute the one or more instructions to divide an area of interest into a plurality of polygonal areas of a first level, obtain address metadata of the plurality of polygonal areas of the first level, identify polygonal areas adjacent to a first polygonal area among the plurality of polygonal areas of the first level, and determine whether the address metadata of the first polygonal area is appropriate based on the address metadata of the polygonal areas adjacent to the first polygonal area.
[0020] A computer-readable, non-transitory recording medium having recorded thereon a program for executing a method for determining address metadata of an electronic device according to an embodiment of the present disclosure, the method for determining address metadata may include: dividing an area of interest into a plurality of polygonal areas of a first level; acquiring address metadata of the plurality of polygonal areas of the first level; identifying polygonal areas adjacent to a first polygonal area among the plurality of polygonal areas of the first level; and determining whether the address metadata of the first polygonal area is appropriate based on the address metadata of the polygonal areas adjacent to the first polygonal area.
[0021] According to one embodiment of the present disclosure, an independent database of address metadata corresponding to information on a map can be constructed.
[0022] According to one embodiment of the present disclosure, a database of accurate address metadata can be constructed in a simple manner by dividing a map into a plurality of polygonal areas and obtaining and estimating address metadata of the plurality of polygonal areas.

Under the control of the processor (110), the database (140) can store map information and address metadata corresponding to the map information. The address metadata can include, for example, a postal code, a building number, and a road name address. The map information can include, for example, latitude and longitude for each location.
[0050] FIG. 3 is a processing flowchart of an electronic device (100) according to one embodiment of the present disclosure.
[0051] Referring to process flowchart 300, the processor (110) of the electronic device (100) according to one embodiment may, in step 310, divide the region of interest into a plurality of polygonal regions of the first level. The region of interest may be set by the user. For example, the region of interest may be an area representing an entire country, an area representing a city, or an area directly set by the user to build a database (140) related to address metadata.
[0052] The polygonal region may be, for example, one of a regular hexagonal region, a regular square region, or a regular triangular region, or a combination thereof. The types of polygonal regions described above are exemplary, and various polygonal shapes may be used. That is, the processor (110) may classify the region of interest into a combination of various polygonal regions. The polygonal region of the first level may refer to the polygonal region of the largest size. As the level of the polygonal region increases, the size of the region may decrease.
[0053] To explain using Fig. 5a, Fig. 5a is a drawing dividing a region of interest (500) into a plurality of first-level polygonal regions (510). In Fig. 5a, the polygonal regions are illustrated as regular hexagonal regions, but the type of polygon is not limited thereto. The processor (110) can call map data regarding the region of interest (500) and divide the region of interest (500) into a plurality of first-level polygonal regions (510). For example, in Fig. 5a, the processor (110) divides the region of interest (500) into 39 first-level polygonal regions (510). The processor (110) can set the plurality of first-level polygonal regions (510) to cover the entire region of interest (500) or to cover most of the region of interest (500).
[0054] According to one embodiment, the processor (110) may obtain address metadata of a plurality of polygonal areas of the first level at step 320. The processor (110) may obtain address metadata for each of the plurality of polygons of the first level. The address metadata may be, for example, a postal code, a building number, or a road name address. In the present embodiment, it will be described assuming that a postal code is obtained. The processor (110) may obtain address metadata of a plurality of polygons of the first level from an external server. The external server may be, for example, a private server that provides information regarding map information and address metadata, or a public server that provides information regarding map information and address metadata of a specific country.
[0055] The processor (110) may obtain address metadata of a predetermined specific area within each of a plurality of polygonal areas of the first level from an external server. The predetermined specific area within the polygonal area may refer to, for example, the exact center area of the polygonal area, or an area adjacent to the exact center area within the polygonal area. The predetermined specific area is not limited thereto, and various areas within the polygonal area may be utilized. For example, the processor (110) may request address metadata of the corresponding area while transmitting coordinate information (e.g., latitude and longitude) of the exact center of the polygonal area to an external server. The external server may transmit address metadata corresponding to the coordinate information to the electronic device (100). Using this method, the processor (110) may obtain address metadata for each of a plurality of polygons of the first level.
[0056] According to one embodiment, the processor (110) may, in step 330, identify polygonal areas adjacent to a first polygonal area among a plurality of polygonal areas of the first level. In order to determine whether the address metadata acquired for the plurality of polygonal areas of the first level is appropriate (or accurate), the processor (110) may select a specific polygonal area (e.g., the first polygonal area) and identify polygonal areas adjacent to the selected specific polygonal area.
[0057] To explain using FIGS. 5a and 5b, the processor (110) can select a first polygonal region (511) among a plurality of polygonal regions (510) of the first level, and check six adjacent polygonal regions (513a, 513b, 513c, 513d, 513e, 513f) adjacent to the first polygonal region (511). In the present embodiment, since the polygonal region is a regular hexagonal region, there are six polygonal regions adjacent to a specific polygonal region, but the number of adjacent polygonal regions may vary depending on the type of polygon. The processor (110) can check the address metadata of the first polygonal area (511) and can check the address metadata of each of the six polygonal areas (513a, 513b, 513c, 513d, 513e, 513f) adjacent to the first polygonal area (511).
[0058] In one embodiment, the processor (110) may determine, at step 340, whether the address metadata of the first polygonal region is appropriate based on the address metadata of the first polygonal region and the polygonal regions adjacent to the first polygonal region. If the address metadata of the first polygonal region and the polygonal regions adjacent to the first polygonal region all match, the processor (110) may determine that the address metadata of the first polygonal region is appropriate. That is, if the metadata of a specific polygonal region all match the metadata of other adjacent polygonal regions, the processor (110) may determine that the address metadata of the first polygonal region is appropriate and that no change is necessary. For example, assume that the zip code of the first polygonal region is 1172. If the zip codes of all six polygonal regions adjacent to the first polygonal region are 1172, the processor (110) may determine that the zip code of the first polygonal region is 1172.
[0059] If the address metadata of the first polygonal region and the polygonal regions adjacent to the first polygonal region do not match, the processor (110) may determine that the address metadata of the first polygonal region is not appropriate. That is, if there is at least one region among the polygonal regions adjacent to the first polygonal region that has different address metadata, the processor (110) may determine that the address metadata of the first polygonal region is not appropriate. For example, assume that the zip code of the first polygonal region is 1172. If the zip codes of five of the six polygonal regions adjacent to the first polygonal region are 1172 but the zip code of the remaining polygonal region is 1170, the zip code of the first polygonal region may be determined to be not 1172.
[0060] According to another embodiment, if the address metadata of each of the first polygonal area and the adjacent polygonal areas match at a rate greater than a preset threshold rate, the address metadata of the first polygonal area may be determined to be appropriate. That is, the processor (110) may determine that the address metadata of the first polygonal area is appropriate if the address metadata of more than 60% of the polygonal areas adjacent to the first polygonal area match. For example, assume that the zip code of the first polygonal area is 1172. If the zip codes of four of the six polygonal areas adjacent to the first polygonal area are 1172 but the zip codes of the remaining two polygonal areas are 1170, the zip codes of 66.7% of the polygonal areas match, and therefore the zip code of the first polygonal area may be determined to be 1172. If the address metadata of the first polygonal area of the first level is determined to be inappropriate, the first polygonal area can be divided into multiple polygonal areas of the second level to determine accurate address metadata. A specific method will be described later.
[0061] That is, for areas containing boundaries where address metadata changes, more accurate address metadata can be determined by dividing them into higher-level polygonal areas. Meanwhile, for inner areas that do not contain boundaries where address metadata changes, the address metadata for that area can be determined to be appropriate without further dividing them into higher-level polygonal areas.
[0062] FIG. 4 is a processing flowchart of an electronic device (100) according to one embodiment of the present disclosure. Specifically, FIG. 4 is a processing flowchart regarding an address determination operation. The processor (110) may determine address metadata of a first polygonal region divided into polygonal regions having one or more levels from a second level to an Nth level by performing the address determination operation disclosed in FIG. 4 multiple times for a given polygonal region determined to have inappropriate address metadata. N may be a threshold value preset based on the amount of available resources of the electronic device (100). That is, even when a specific polygonal region among the plurality of polygonal regions of the Nth level has different address metadata from adjacent polygonal regions, the processor (110) may determine the address metadata based on the currently acquired address metadata, rather than further dividing the region into a plurality of polygonal regions of the (N+1)th level. In other words, the address metadata acquired for the polygonal region of the Nth level may be determined without additional verification.
[0063] Referring to the processing flowchart 400, the processor (110) according to one embodiment may, in step 410, divide a predetermined polygonal area of the Kth level, for which address metadata is determined to be inappropriate, into a plurality of polygonal areas of the (K+1)th level. That is, if the address metadata of the predetermined polygonal area of the Kth level is determined to be inappropriate, the predetermined polygonal area may be divided into a plurality of polygonal areas of the (K+1)th level, which is a higher level. Referring to FIG. 5b, if the address metadata of the first polygonal area (511) of the first level and the address metadata of the six adjacent polygonal areas (513a, 513b, 513c, 513d, 513e, 513f) do not match, the processor (110) may determine that the address metadata of the first polygonal area (511) is inappropriate. In this case, the processor (110) can divide the first polygonal area (511) of the first level into a plurality of polygonal areas (520) of the second level. That is, the processor (110) can subdivide the first polygonal area (511) of the first level into seven polygonal areas (520) of the second level in order to determine the exact address metadata of the first polygonal area (511) of the first level.
[0064] According to one embodiment, the processor (110) may obtain address metadata of a plurality of polygonal areas of the (K+1)th level in step 420. The processor (110) may obtain address metadata of a predetermined specific area within the polygonal area for each of the plurality of polygons of the (K+1)th level from an external server. The predetermined specific area within the polygonal area may mean, for example, the exact center area of the polygonal area or an area adjacent to the exact center area within the polygon. As described using FIG. 5b, the processor (110) may obtain address metadata of a plurality of polygonal areas (520) of the second level. That is, the processor (110) may obtain address metadata of each of the seven polygonal areas (520) of the second level.
[0065] According to one embodiment, the processor (110) can, in step 430, check the polygonal areas adjacent to a predetermined polygonal area of the (K+1)th level. In order to determine whether the address metadata for the predetermined polygonal area of the (K+1)th level is appropriate, the processor (110) can check the polygonal areas adjacent to the predetermined polygonal area. As described using FIG. 5c, the processor (110) can select a predetermined polygonal area (521) from among a plurality of polygonal areas (520) of the second level, and check six polygonal areas (523a, 523b, 523c, 523d, 523e, 523f) adjacent to the predetermined polygonal area (521). The processor (110) can check the address metadata of a predetermined polygonal area (521) and six adjacent polygonal areas (523a, 523b, 523c, 523d, 523e, 523f).
[0066] According to one embodiment, the processor (110) may determine, in step 440, whether the address metadata of a predetermined polygonal area and adjacent polygonal areas are all identical. Referring to FIG. 5c, the processor (110) may determine whether the address metadata of a predetermined polygonal area (521) and the address metadata of polygonal areas (523a, 523b, 523c, 523d, 523e, 523f) adjacent to the predetermined polygonal area (521) are all identical.
[0067] If the address metadata of the predetermined polygonal area and the adjacent polygonal areas are all identical, the processor (110) branches to step 450 (440-Yes), and determines the address metadata of the predetermined polygonal area of the (K+1) level as the address metadata of the adjacent polygonal areas.
[0068] If the address metadata of a predetermined polygonal area and adjacent polygonal areas do not match, the processor (110) may branch to step 410 (440-No), and perform an address determination operation again. In this case, by changing K to (K+1) and applying it, the address metadata may be determined while subdividing into polygonal areas of a higher level. As explained using FIG. 5c, if there is even one polygonal area with different address metadata among the predetermined polygonal area (521) of the second level and the adjacent polygonal areas (523a, 523b, 523c, 523d, 523e, 523f), the processor (110) may determine that the address metadata of the predetermined polygonal area (521) of the second level is not appropriate, and may divide the predetermined polygonal area (521) of the second level into a plurality of polygonal areas (530) of the third level.
[0069] By repeatedly performing the above-described address resolution operation, more accurate address metadata can be determined for an area including a boundary where the address metadata changes, and address metadata can be determined through a minimal process for an area that does not include the boundary. Meanwhile, in order to reduce the resource burden, the address resolution operation can be subdivided up to a polygonal area of at most N levels. Here, N may be a threshold value preset based on the amount of available resources of the electronic device (100). That is, even when a specific polygonal area among the plurality of polygonal areas of the N level has different address metadata from adjacent polygonal areas, the processor (110) can confirm it with the currently acquired address metadata rather than further dividing it into a plurality of polygonal areas of the (N+1) level.
[0070] By repeating the above-described address determination operation multiple times, accurate address metadata can be determined for each polygon area.
[0071] FIG. 6 is a diagram illustrating areas of interest displayed differently according to address metadata according to one embodiment of the present disclosure.
[0072] Referring to drawing 600, through the above-described processes, the processor (110) can divide the area of interest into polygonal areas having one or more levels from the first level to the Nth level, and by obtaining address metadata of each polygonal area, a database (140) regarding address metadata of the area of interest can be constructed.
[0073] The processor (110) can merge (integrate) polygonal areas with the same address metadata and display polygonal areas with different address metadata in a distinct manner. For example, as shown in FIG. 6, polygonal areas with different address metadata can be displayed in different colors.
[0074] FIG. 7 is a processing flowchart of an electronic device (100) according to one embodiment of the present disclosure. Specifically, FIG. 7 relates to a method for updating address metadata when the address metadata has changed.
[0075] Referring to processing flowchart 700, the processor (110) according to one embodiment can, in step 710, confirm that the address metadata of the second polygonal area has been changed from the first address metadata to the second address metadata.
[0076] For example, if the processor (110) obtains from the user's terminal device (200) that the address metadata of the second polygonal area, which is known as the first address metadata, is the second address metadata, the processor (110) can confirm that the address metadata of the second polygonal area has changed from the first address metadata to the second address metadata. The user's terminal device (200) may be, for example, a delivery person's terminal device (200). That is, the processor (110) can update the address metadata of the polygonal area based on information confirmed by the actual delivery person.
[0077] For example, if the processor (110) obtains from an external server that the address metadata of the second polygon area, which is known as the first address metadata, is the second address metadata, the processor (110) can confirm that the address metadata of the second polygon area has changed from the first address metadata to the second address metadata. That is, the processor (110) can update the address metadata to the latest address metadata by periodically checking the address metadata from the external server.
[0078] In one embodiment, the processor (110) may, in step 720, identify at least one polygonal area having first address metadata as address metadata among a plurality of polygonal areas and being continuous from a second polygonal area. If the processor (110) determines that the address metadata of the second polygonal area has changed from the first address metadata to the second address metadata, the processor (110) may identify at least one polygonal area having first address metadata as address metadata before the change and being continuous from the second polygonal area. The processor (110) may designate the second polygonal area and the at least one identified continuous polygonal area as address change areas. That is, since the address metadata of the second polygonal area has been confirmed to have changed, it may be determined that the address metadata of the continuous polygonal areas having the address metadata before the change may also have changed, and may designate the corresponding areas as address change areas.
[0079] According to one embodiment, the processor (110) may determine address metadata of an address fluctuation region including a second polygonal region and at least one polygonal region at step 730. The processor (110) may determine address metadata of an address fluctuation region divided into polygonal regions having one or more levels from the second level to the Nth level by performing an address determination operation multiple times on the address fluctuation region. The address determination operation may refer to the address determination operation disclosed in FIG. 4.
[0080] Meanwhile, address metadata may not be acquired for some polygonal areas. For example, address metadata may not be acquired for some polygonal areas through an external server. In the above case, address metadata may be acquired in the following manner. In response to failure to acquire address metadata for a third polygonal area among a plurality of polygonal areas of the first level, the processor (110) may identify polygonal areas adjacent to the third polygonal area. In response to the fact that the address metadata of the third polygonal area and the adjacent polygonal areas all match, the processor (110) may determine the address metadata of the third polygonal area as the address metadata of the polygonal areas adjacent to the third polygonal area. The processor (110) may further include a step of determining address metadata of the third polygonal region, which is divided into polygonal regions having one or more levels from the second level to the Nth level, by performing an address determination operation multiple times on the third polygonal region of the first level in response to the address metadata of the third polygonal region and adjacent polygonal regions not matching. The address determination operation may refer to the address determination operation disclosed in FIG. 4.
