Description

Ultrasonic paper straw forming device

[0001] The present invention relates to a paper straw forming device using ultrasonic waves, and more particularly, to a straw forming device that not only neatly and stably bonds a paper material's bonding portion using ultrasonic waves, but also efficiently manufactures a paper straw without loss of paper material by giving the paper material a U-shaped intermediate shape during the forming process, while simultaneously maximizing the efficiency of the process.

[0002] Paper straws are intended to replace existing plastic straws. Unlike non-degradable plastic straws, paper straws are biodegradable and environmentally friendly, making them a widely used beverage accessory in cafes and restaurants.

[0003] These paper straws are manufactured through a forming device based on an automatic process, and the forming device for these paper straws often goes through a process of feeding a paper strip into a forming mold, rolling it into a cylindrical shape, and then heat-compressing it to complete the process.

[0004] Domestic patent publication No. 10-2023-0120326 discloses a paper straw manufacturing system capable of forming wrinkles while cutting, which shortens the manufacturing time of paper straws provided with wrinkles by forming wrinkles while cutting a spare straw that is heated by hot air and wound around a core rod, and further, the present invention has a feature that enables forming wrinkles while cutting by installing a heating wire inside the core rod to transfer heat to the spare straw when forming wrinkles, making it flexible, and then forming wrinkles so that the wrinkles are stably maintained even after cooling.

[0005] In addition, a paper straw manufacturing device, which is Korean Patent No. 2017452, is disclosed to include a main body, a paper roll rotatably mounted on one side of the lower portion of the main body and in which paper is wound in a roll shape, a pair of slitting rollers installed on one side of the paper roll and cutting paper pulled out from the paper roll into paper strips of a predetermined width, a cylindrical forming unit installed on one side of the upper portion of the main body and forming the paper strips into paper tubes of a cylindrical shape, a heating and bonding unit that heats and bonds the overlapping portions of the paper tubes formed into a cylindrical shape, and a cutting and discharge unit installed on the other side of the upper portion of the main body and cutting the paper tubes with the overlapping portions bonded to a predetermined length while transporting them.

[0006] However, as with the hot air heating structure of the above technologies, there is a problem that the paper, which is vulnerable to heat, may be deformed and not have a perfect cylindrical shape, and in addition, in the process of directly rolling the flat paper strip using the core rod, not only does a lot of loss or error occur due to the nature of the paper strip being thin, but there is also a disadvantage that it cannot have a proper circular shape.

[0007] Therefore, there is an emerging need to develop a novel and advanced ultrasonic-based paper straw forming device that can form paper straws having a more complete cylindrical shape by going through an intermediate process of a U shape rather than directly forming a flat paper strip into a cylindrical shape based on ultrasonic energy that can stably provide energy without unnecessary deformation of the paper strip while being finely controlled and without generating high heat.

[0008]

[0009] The present invention was devised to overcome the problems of the above technology, and its main purpose is to provide a straw forming device that not only neatly and stably bonds the bonding portion of paper material using ultrasonic waves, but also efficiently manufactures paper straws without loss of paper strips by giving the paper material an intermediate shape of a U shape during the forming process, while maximizing the efficiency of the process.

[0010] Another object of the present invention is to provide a unique structure that can prevent errors that may occur during the forming of a paper straw by ensuring the structural stability of a first forming guide for forming a U-shaped first forming material as well as a second forming guide for forming the first forming material into a cylindrical second forming material.

[0011] Another object of the present invention is to provide an efficient structure capable of performing ultrasonic imprinting processing while allowing the ultrasonic equipment to be elevated.

[0012]

[0013] In order to achieve the above object, the present invention provides a device for forming a paper straw using ultrasonic waves, comprising: a roller for transporting a paper strip; a first forming guide for forming the paper strip into a U-shaped first forming material; a second forming guide for rolling the first forming material into a cylindrical shape and forming it into a second forming material; an ultrasonic device for ultrasonically bonding both ends of the second forming material and simultaneously ultrasonically printing a logo on one side of the outer circumference of the second forming material; and a cutting unit for cutting the second forming material into a predetermined length to complete a paper straw.

[0014] In addition, the first forming guide includes a U-shaped guide plate, and the rollers are rotated while positioned respectively at the upper and lower portions of the guide plate to press and transport the paper strip while forming it into the first forming material.

[0015] In addition, the rear end of the first forming guide is characterized by including a tapered portion that is tapered to narrow in width while extending to a certain length and then curved to have a circular shape at the end.

[0016] Additionally, the ultrasonic equipment is characterized by including an ultrasonic horn positioned on the slit of the second molding guide, ultrasonically bonding both ends of the second molding material while simultaneously ultrasonically printing a logo on one side of the outer surface of the second molding material, and an elevating unit for elevating the ultrasonic horn.

[0017]

[0018] According to the paper straw forming device using ultrasound according to the present invention,

[0019] 1) It has the advantage of not only neatly and stably bonding the adhesive part of the paper material using ultrasound, but also having a U-shaped intermediate shape during the forming process of the paper material, so that it can efficiently produce paper straws without loss of paper strip.

[0020] 2) It provides an efficient roller arrangement structure and minimizes various problems that occur when paper material is not completely rolled during the process of being rolled into a cylindrical shape.

[0021] 3) The improved structure of the ultrasonic equipment has the effect of efficiently implementing ultrasonic bonding and ultrasonic printing processing.

[0030]

[0031] Hereinafter, preferred embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the attached drawings. The attached drawings are not drawn to scale, and like reference numbers in each drawing indicate like components.

[0032] FIG. 1 is a perspective view schematically illustrating the structure of a molding device of the present invention, FIG. 2 is a perspective view focusing on the first and second molding guides and a portion of ultrasonic equipment in FIG. 1, and FIG. 3 is a perspective view illustrating a structure in which a paper strip is converted into the first and second molding materials.

[0033] As can be seen from FIGS. 1 and 2, the molding device of the present invention is basically composed of a roller (300), first and second molding guides (100, 200), ultrasonic equipment (400), and a cutting section.

[0034] These detailed structures take on a structure that is continuously extended in accordance with the longitudinal direction of the paper straw, as the paper straw has a structure that extends along a straight line.

[0035] The present invention, as illustrated in FIG. 3, is to convert a paper strip (1) as a raw material into first and second molding materials (10, 20) to ultimately complete a paper straw. In particular, unlike a known molding device that simply rolls a paper strip around a cylindrical core rod to form a cylindrical shape like a paper straw, the present invention provides a feature in which the paper strip (1) is first rolled into a U shape through a first molding guide (100) and formed into a first molding material (10), and then the first molding material (10) is formed into a second molding material (20) having a cylindrical shape through a second molding guide (200), and then both ends of the second molding material (20) are ultrasonically bonded through an ultrasonic device (400) while simultaneously printing a logo on the outer surface of the second molding material (20) using ultrasonic waves.

[0036] In other words, it can maximize the efficiency of the continuous process by going through multi-stage shape transformation and simultaneously performing ultrasonic bonding and printing using ultrasonic waves, and it can also provide the advantage of being able to use the completed paper straw for various commercial purposes such as promotion and advertising by hygienically printing a logo.

[0037] Hereinafter, the specific configuration and function of the molding device of the present invention will be described with reference to the attached drawings.

[0038] First, in the present invention, the paper strip (1) is a raw material for a paper straw to be completed, and a paper strip (1) having a structure with a predetermined thickness and width while being extended in the longitudinal direction is used as an initial material.

[0039] Although this paper strip (1) is not shown in the drawing, it can be transported to the first forming guide (100) by the rotation of the roller (300) while being wound on a separate winder or rolling means.

[0040] An adhesive layer is coated on both ends of the paper strip (1) in the width direction, so that it can be bonded using ultrasonic waves from the ultrasonic equipment (400) described later.

[0041] As briefly mentioned above, the roller (300) can provide power to move the paper strip (1) wound on the winder to the first forming guide (100) and to each configuration so that the paper strip (1) can be formed into a paper straw through the first and second forming materials (10, 20). The rollers may be installed in pairs at the upper and lower portions so as to contact the surface and back of the paper strip at the tip of the first forming guide (100), or may be installed in at least one pair between the first and second forming guides (100, 200) and the ultrasonic equipment (400) that are connected in series.

[0042] In particular, it is preferable that the roller (300) of the present invention be installed in the first forming guide (100) so that a small number of paper strips (1) or first and second forming materials (10, 20) can be efficiently transported to each configuration, which will be described later.

[0043] The first forming guide (100) provides a function of forming a paper strip (1) into a U-shaped first forming material (10), and performs the function of receiving a flat / sheet-shaped paper strip moved by the conveying force of a roller (300) and then creating a U-shaped paper strip (1), i.e., the first forming material (10).

[0044] In the case where a sheet-shaped paper strip (1) is directly rolled into a cylindrical paper straw, the end of the paper strip (1) may be rolled or crumpled, which may result in the cylindrical shape not being formed properly or loss occurring. Therefore, in order to solve this problem, the first forming guide (100) provides a function for forming the strip to have a curved U shape as an intermediate step.

[0045] Specifically, the first forming guide (100) may be formed in a hollow shape and include a U-shaped guide plate (110) inside a case having a space for accommodating a paper strip (1), and the entrance (end) of this guide plate (110) may have a shape that is narrow after being oxidized, so that it is possible to stably gather and introduce a flat paper strip (1) into the first forming guide (100).

[0046] The second forming guide (200) provides a function of forming the U-shaped paper band (1), i.e., the first forming material (10), into a cylindrical shape, i.e., the second forming material (20), by rolling the first forming material.

[0047] This second molding guide (200) is basically structured to have a core rod (220) having a cylindrical shape similar to a known cylindrical core rod or core, and to form the second molding material (20) by winding the first molding material (10) through the core rod.

[0048] Furthermore, as will be described later, a structure can be provided that can more stably make the first molding material (10) into a second molding material (20) in a cylindrical shape by fixing the outside of the first molding material (10) using a jig (210), and this will also be described later.

[0049] An ultrasonic device (400), which will be described later, is positioned on the upper portion of the second molding guide (200) so that the ultrasonic energy of the ultrasonic device (400) can be transmitted to the upper outer surface of the second molding material (20) and the second molding material (20) wrapped around the second molding guide (200). In other words, both ends of the second molding material (20) are ultrasonically bonded (joined) on the upper portion of the second molding guide (200).

[0050] The ultrasonic equipment (400) is positioned above the second molding guide (200) described above (as will be described later, it is positioned so as to be able to move up and down in more detail) and has the function of ultrasonically bonding both ends of the second molding material (20) that has been rolled into a cylindrical shape but is not yet bonded, while simultaneously ultrasonically printing a logo on one side of the outer surface of the second molding material (20).

[0051] This ultrasonic equipment (400) includes a converter that converts electrical energy into ultrasonic energy and an ultrasonic horn (410) connected thereto, thereby applying ultrasonic energy to both ends of a second molding material (20). The principle thereof is briefly described as follows.

[0052] When high-frequency sound waves, i.e. ultrasonic waves, are generated by the ultrasonic horn (410) to generate vibration energy, they are transmitted to the end of the second molding material (20), and local heat is generated due to friction between the molecules thereof. This heat is naturally transmitted to the adhesive coated on the end of the second molding material (20), melting and activating it, thereby inducing rapid bonding of the second molding material (20), and ultimately completing ultrasonic bonding.

[0053] At this time, it is important to precisely set the level of ultrasonic energy so that the ultrasonic horn (410) transmits excessive ultrasonic waves to the end of the second molding material (20) and the end of the second molding material (20) is not burned or deformed.

[0054] In addition, the ultrasonic equipment (400) including the ultrasonic horn (410) can print a logo on one side of the outer surface of the second molding material (20) by applying the ultrasonic printing method.

[0055] Here, 'logo' can be understood as a concept including text, pictures or images consisting of at least one of letters, numbers and symbols.

[0056] Ultrasonic printing, as the name suggests, refers to printing using ultrasonic waves. There are two methods: the first method is to apply ultrasonic waves when mixing or dispersing ink to enhance efficiency, or to bond the printing material and the printing target surface with ultrasonic waves; the second method is to press a specific printing pattern engraved on a tip (411) onto the printing target surface and then generate ultrasonic waves to imprint. Since the paper straw is an object that comes into direct contact with the body, it is preferable to understand that the ultrasonic printing of the present invention means the latter method (the second method), i.e., ultrasonic imprinting, for hygiene reasons.

[0057] According to this ultrasonic engraving method, when the tip (411) of the ultrasonic horn (410) touches the second molding material (20) wrapped around the outer surface of the second molding material (20), rapid vibrations are generated, thereby wearing down the outer surface of the second molding material (20) and generating heat, thereby printing the logo engraved on the tip (411) on the surface.

[0058] Accordingly, unlike the existing printing method using chemical materials, it is hygienic and environmentally friendly because it does not use ink, and it is possible to imprint while generating relatively little frictional heat, so it does not damage the second molding material (20) that has soft material characteristics, and it can exhibit the characteristic of being able to express a very fine and detailed logo shape.

[0059] The cutting section is located at the rear end of the ultrasonic equipment (400) and provides a function of cutting the second molding material (20) discharged from the ultrasonic equipment (400) to a certain length when ultrasonic bonding / printing is completed, thereby finally completing the paper straw.

[0060] These cutting parts can be applied with various blades or cutters, and since they are the same as or similar to known cutting parts, a separate description is omitted.

[0061] In summary, the forming device of the present invention not only efficiently performs bonding and printing simultaneously using ultrasonic waves, but also provides the characteristic of forming a paper straw quickly and stably while minimizing loss / loss by forming a flat paper strip (1) into a U shape and then finally into a cylindrical shape.

[0062] Figure 4 is a perspective view focusing on the connection structure of the first forming guide plate and the second forming guide in the roller and the first forming guide.

[0063] As mentioned above, the first forming guide (100) includes a guide plate (110) formed in a U shape to form the paper strip (1) into a U shape.

[0064] That is, when the paper strip (1) enters the first forming guide (100), it settles on the U-shaped guide plate (110) and can be formed / deformed into the U-shaped first forming material (10) to fit the shape of the guide plate (110).

[0065] At this time, if the paper strip is lifted or separated from the guide plate (110), the paper strip may not be properly formed into the U-shaped first forming material (10). Therefore, it is more preferable that the roller (300) responsible for transporting the paper strip be included in the first forming guide (100) and also have the role of pressing the paper strip.

[0066]

[0067] Specifically, the roller (300) is rotated while positioned at the upper and lower portions of the guide plate (110) respectively to press the paper strip, thereby helping the paper strip to adhere to the guide plate (110) and be smoothly formed into a U-shaped first molding material, and can also have the function of transporting the formed first molding material in the direction of the second molding guide (200).

[0068] That is, the roller (300) is responsible for transporting the paper strip (first forming material) and simultaneously performs the role of stably contacting the guide plate (110), thereby providing convenience in operating the roller (300) and reducing the number of rollers (300) when manufacturing the forming device of the present invention, thereby reducing the manufacturing cost.

[0069] Fig. 5 is a perspective view focusing on the taper portion of the first forming guide and the connection structure of the second forming guide.

[0070] Referring to FIGS. 1, 2, 4 and 5, it can be seen that a tapered portion (120) is formed at the rear end of the first forming guide (100).

[0071] It is a structure that is tapered to narrow in width as it extends to a certain length, and then is curved and rolled to have a circular shape at the end.

[0072] Here, having a circular shape and being curved means that the ends are banded closely together to have an arc shape, closer to a circular shape than a U shape.

[0073] This tapered portion (120) provides a function to prevent the first molding material (10) from being crumpled or not being able to properly enter the second molding guide (200) by gradually reducing the width of the first molding material (10) and rapidly forming it into a cylindrical shape with a predetermined diameter before the first molding material (10) formed into a U shape while passing through the guide plate (110) moves to the second molding guide (200) having a cylindrical shape.

[0074] That is, the taper section (120) serves as a guide to gradually reduce the difference in width or diameter between the first and second molding materials (10, 20) so that the first molding material (10) can be naturally rolled into a cylindrical shape and molded into the second molding material (20).

[0075] Figure 6 is a cross-sectional view, a plan view, and a side view showing the detailed structure of the first and second forming guides.

[0076] As described above, the second forming guide (200) includes a core rod (220) formed in a cylindrical shape and is formed into a cylindrical second forming material (20) through this. However, it is preferable to additionally include a means for stably accommodating the first forming material (10) so as to prevent the first forming material (10) from being unnecessarily dislodged to the outside during the process of rolling the first forming material (10) into a cylindrical shape.

[0077] Specifically, as can be seen from FIG. 6, the second forming guide (200) can include a jig (210) and a core rod (220).

[0078] The jig (210) is a structure including a slit (211) cut along the length direction at the top and an empty hollow interior, and provides a structure similar to a housing that surrounds a core rod (220) to be described later.

[0079] This jig (210) provides a hollow space for accommodating the first molding material (10), thereby providing a function of preventing the aforementioned problem, that is, the first molding material (10) is not concentrated on the core rod (220) and rolled, but rather one side is deviated to the outside.

[0080] At this time, one side of the jig (210), specifically the upper side, includes a slit (211) cut to a certain length along the longitudinal direction, and the ultrasonic equipment (400) (ultrasonic horn (410)) is pressed against the outer surface of the second molding material (20) wrapped around the core rod (220) through the slit (211), which is an open space, and this part becomes the joint point of both ends of the second molding material (20).

[0081] The core rod (220) is a structure that extends a certain length from the end of the first forming guide (100) (specifically, the tapered portion) and is mounted in the hollow portion of the jig (210), specifically, in the central portion of the hollow portion, with a diameter corresponding to the diameter (inner diameter) of the paper straw to be completed later.

[0082] These core rods (220) can be mounted in the hollow of the cylinder (210) by means of micro-joining means such as pins extending in the hollow direction of the cylinder (210) around the slit (211).

[0083] That is, the core rod (220) provides a rolling treatment role for forming the second molding material (20) while the first molding material (10) wraps around it, similar to the known core rod.

[0084] This second molding guide (200) wraps the first molding material (10) inside and out and serves as a guide for stable molding into a second molding material (20) having a cylindrical shape, thereby providing a characteristic that enables molding of a second molding material (20) having a perfectly completed cylindrical shape without being crushed.

[0085] Among these second molding guides (200), the core rod (220) has a structure that is extended in a long, tube-like shape from the end of the first molding guide (100), as can be seen in the drawing. Since the width (diameter) of the second molding guide (200) is smaller than that of the first molding guide (100), the density is increased accordingly. Therefore, when the first molding material passes through the first molding guide (100) and is then wound around the core rod (220), there is a risk that it may be unnecessarily crushed. In addition, there is a possibility that the air may be compressed when entering the hollow space of the jig (210) together with the surrounding air, which may cause deformation of the shape of the first molding material (10).

[0086] To prevent such problems, as can be seen in Fig. 5, it is preferable that the core rod (220) include a buffer hole (212) that penetrates a certain area along the outer circumference of the connection portion with the first forming guide (100).

[0087] This buffer hole (212) can be formed by penetrating a certain area at the entrance of the core rod (220), or the first and second forming guides (100, 200) are not integral structures, but are formed by a detachable joint structure of the tapered portion (120) and the core rod (220), so that the maintenance of the core rod (220) is convenient. By forming a recessed portion around the connection portion with the first forming guide (100) (tapered portion), the core rod (220) can be manufactured so that this recessed portion functions as a penetrating space with a certain area when assembled with the first forming guide (100) (tapered portion).

[0088] This buffer hole (212) serves as a kind of bumper just before the first molding material (10) is rolled onto the core rod (220), and not only efficiently discharges compressed air to the outside, but also provides a function that can alleviate the problem of the first molding material (10) being abnormally compressed too densely or a specific part being pushed and moved first, causing it to get caught on one side of the core rod (220) or being torn as a result.

[0089] Figure 7 is a cross-sectional view showing the step structure of the core rod.

[0090] Additionally, referring to FIG. 7, it can be seen that the cross-section of the core rod (220) is not a perfect circular shape, and is stepped so that it has different diameters rather than the same diameter based on the center of the core rod (210) at the top.

[0091] Due to this, the ends of the second molding material (20) that is formed by rolling while being wound around the core rod (220) also have a step treatment, i.e., a height difference. Through this, when the ultrasonic horn (410) enters the slit (211) of the jig (210) during ultrasonic bonding of the ultrasonic equipment (400), it presses this part and covers one end of the second molding material (20) with the other end, thereby securing a sufficient contact area and promoting smooth melting of the adhesive layer coated on the corresponding part.

[0092] That is, the stepped structure of the core rod (220) is intended to improve the efficiency of ultrasonic bonding by having both ends of the second molding material (20) have a height difference and overlap partially, and exhibits the characteristic of providing a function to prevent the problem of both ends being separated or having the same diameter, which prevents a proper bonding area from being secured.

[0093] Figure 8 is an enlarged perspective view of an ultrasonic horn in ultrasonic equipment.

[0094] As previously explained, the ultrasonic equipment (400) includes an ultrasonic horn (410), and more specifically, the ultrasonic equipment (400) may include an ultrasonic horn (410) and an elevator (420).

[0095] As previously described, the ultrasonic horn (410) is positioned on the slit (211) of the second molding guide (200), and provides the function of ultrasonically bonding both ends of the second molding material (20) and simultaneously ultrasonically printing a logo on one side of the outer surface of the second molding material (20).

[0096] At this time, the tip (411) of the ultrasonic horn (410) passes through the slit (211) and comes into close contact with the outer surface of the second molding material (20).

[0097] The lifting unit (420) is for adjusting the height of the ultrasonic horn (410). If the ultrasonic horn (410) is in close contact with the second forming guide (200), there is a risk that the first forming material (10) (or second forming material) inside may get caught, and if it is spaced apart from the second forming guide (200) at a certain distance, the ultrasonic energy may not be properly transmitted to the second forming material (20). Therefore, the function of raising and lowering the ultrasonic horn (410) according to the progress of the process is provided.

[0098] At this time, the elevation height is sufficient to be the minimum height that the second molding material (20) does not get caught, and the elevation unit (420) includes a mechanical means for elevation such as a driving motor and a rack / pinion and is connected to the upper side of the ultrasonic horn (410) to elevate the ultrasonic horn (410) according to the flow time of the process.

[0099] In addition, the ultrasonic horn (410) includes a block (412) with a logo convexly displayed (embossed) on a tip (411) that is embedded in a shape corresponding to the outer surface of the second molding material (20), and when this block (412) enters the slit (211) and is pressed against the second molding material (20), the logo is ultrasonically engraved and both ends of the second molding material (20) are ultrasonically bonded.

[0100] The end of this tip (411) (the contact surface of the second molding guide (200) to the second molding material (20)) is concavely recessed to correspond to the convexly formed cylindrical shape of the second molding guide (200), thereby ensuring a stable close contact relationship with the second molding material (20).

[0101] Accordingly, it has the characteristic of being able to perform ultrasonic engraving processing while simultaneously ultrasonic bonding the second molding material (20) while efficiently inserting it into a finely cut slit (211) and reducing unnecessary loss of ultrasonic energy.

[0102] As described so far, the configuration and operation of the paper straw forming device using ultrasound according to the present invention have been described in the above description and drawings, but this is merely an example, and the spirit of the present invention is not limited to the above description and drawings, and it goes without saying that various changes and modifications are possible within a scope that does not depart from the technical spirit of the present invention.
