Description

[0001] BATTERY ARRANGEMENT

[0002] The invention relates to a battery arrangement for a boat, in particular for a sports boat.

[0003] Motor vehicles with an electrically powered drive train are well known. They comprise a drive train with at least one electric motor and at least one rechargeable battery with a plurality of battery cells. Such batteries are typically high-voltage batteries, which have a large number of battery cells in order to achieve the high voltages. This makes the battery, also called a high-voltage battery, relatively large and forms a solitary structural unit. This structural unit of the battery is subject to limits with regard to its permissible mechanical loads. These limits are relatively well known in the automotive sector, especially since the amplitude and frequency of the forces that occur, for example during impacts, are relatively well known, so that the design of a battery for a motor vehicle is possible under appropriate boundary conditions, for example with regard to cost and weight.

[0004] If, for example, a battery is to be used in a different application environment, the loads that occur in this regard must be evaluated and it must be checked whether the limits of the permissible loads on the battery would be exceeded and how the battery can be reinforced so that it can be made more stable with regard to external loads.

[0005] WO 2014 / 184231 A1 discloses an electrically powered boat with a battery that has damping elements arranged within the double-shell battery housing. The damping elements are arranged between the two shells of the double-shell battery housing. This results in a limited isolation of the battery from external influences, and the battery is manufactured specifically for the application, which significantly complicates or prevents mass production and increases costs. The object of the present invention is to create a battery arrangement for a boat that allows the use of a battery in a boat without exceeding its load limit.

[0006] The problem of the battery arrangement is solved with the features of claim 1.

[0007] An embodiment according to the invention relates to a battery arrangement for a boat, in particular for a sports boat, wherein the boat has a hull, furthermore with a battery with a battery housing in which a plurality of battery cells are arranged, wherein a support structure is provided to which the battery is fastened, wherein the support structure is connected to the hull of the boat by means of damping elements and is arranged and in particular suspended. In this way, a battery can be arranged securely yet dampened in a boat, even though the battery is designed or constructed, for example, as a motor vehicle battery and will be exposed to other loads in a boat. In particular, suitable vibration damping is possible for the secure arrangement of the battery in a boat.

[0008] It is also advantageous if the battery housing is an enclosing housing that encloses a plurality of battery cells and, if appropriate, at least one electronic unit. This allows the battery housing to be used to surround the battery as a whole, forming the battery as a single structural unit. This allows the battery, including its battery housing, to be secured to the supporting structure and positioned in the boat in a dampened manner using the damping elements.

[0009] It is particularly advantageous if the battery housing has a self-supporting structure. This allows the battery as a whole, with its self-supporting battery housing, to be attached to the supporting structure and positioned in the boat in a dampened manner using the damping elements.

[0010] In a particularly advantageous embodiment, it is also expedient for the supporting structure to be a supporting frame. This allows for a stable design for supporting even a heavy battery, whereby the supporting frame itself can be designed to be weight-optimized yet stable.

[0011] It is also advantageous if the support frame is composed of a plurality of support frame struts arranged in a connected manner. This allows the support frame to be designed to match the shape of the battery and the boat, while still being lightweight and stable.

[0012] It is also expedient to provide at least two first support frame struts, which are arranged parallel to each other and adjacent to an outer side of the battery housing. This allows for a good connection of the battery to the support frame along the first support struts.

[0013] It is also expedient to provide at least two second support frame struts, which are connected on the one hand to one of the first support frame struts and on the other hand to another of the first support frame struts. This creates a structure that resembles a lattice structure and / or ladder structure to ensure stable suspension or fastening of the battery to the support frame.

[0014] It is also expedient if the first support frame struts are arranged substantially perpendicular to the second support frame struts. This creates a stable, self-supporting structure for supporting the battery.

[0015] It is also expedient if at least one third support frame strut is provided, which is connected to at least one first support frame strut and / or to at least one second support frame strut or is arranged parallel thereto.

[0016] Furthermore, it is advantageous if the damping element is a wire rope damper, a spring damper, and / or an air cushion damper. This allows for a space-saving design that provides damping properties for supporting the battery in the boat.

[0017] The invention will be explained in detail below using an exemplary embodiment with reference to the drawings. In the drawings:

[0018] Figure 1 is a schematic view of a battery arrangement in a boat,

[0019] Figure 2 is a perspective view of an embodiment of a

[0020] Battery arrangement, and

[0021] Figure 3 is a schematic exploded view of the battery arrangement according to Figure 2.

[0022] Figure 1 shows a schematic representation of a battery assembly 1 for a boat 2, in particular for a pleasure craft. The boat 2 is shown only schematically with a suggested hull s. Further details of the boat 2 are not shown.

[0023] Furthermore, at least one battery 4 is provided and arranged with a battery housing 5. A plurality of battery cells is preferably arranged in the respective battery housing 5, wherein, if appropriate and optionally, at least one electronic unit is also provided for controlling or regulating the battery cells. An electronic unit is also understood to be, for example, a sensor or the like.

[0024] For the secure arrangement of the at least one battery 4, a support structure 6 is provided to which the battery 4 is fastened.

[0025] To accommodate the battery 4 in the boat 2, the support structure 6 is connected to the hull 3 of the boat 2 by means of damping elements 7. According to the illustrated embodiment, the damping element 7 is a wire rope damper. Additionally or alternatively, the damping element 7 can also be or include a spring damper and / or an air cushion damper.

[0026] To form a stable structural unit, the battery housing 5 is an enclosing housing that encloses the plurality of battery cells and, if appropriate, at least one electronic unit. This provides the battery 4 with the desired stability, allowing the battery 4 to be securely connected to the support structure 6 on the battery housing 5, allowing it to be mounted on the boat in a damped manner via the support structure 6.

[0027] It is particularly advantageous if the battery housing 5 has a self-supporting structure so that a stable supporting connection between the battery housing 5 and the boat is expediently possible.

[0028] It is also expedient if the support structure 6 is a support frame 8. The support frame 8 is preferably composed of a plurality of support frame struts 9, 10, 11, which are arranged in a manner connected to one another.

[0029] According to Figures 2 and 3, at least two first support frame struts 9 are provided, which are arranged parallel to one another and are arranged adjacent to an outer side of the battery housing 5. In Figures 2 and 3, the first support frame struts 9 are arranged parallel to the long side of the battery 4 and run laterally to the long sides of the battery 4. The first support frame struts 9 are preferably attached laterally to the battery housing 5, for example, screwed or otherwise connected.

[0030] In the illustrated embodiment, at least two second support frame struts 10 are also provided, which are connected on the one hand to one of the first support frame struts 9 and on the other hand to another of the first support frame struts 9. In the illustrated example, the second support frame struts 10 are arranged transversely to the first support frame struts 9 and span the battery 4. The first support frame struts 9 are thus arranged substantially perpendicular to the second support frame struts 10. This results in a stable support structure.

[0031] Preferably, at least one third support frame strut 11 is also provided, which is connected to at least one first support frame strut 9 and / or to at least one second support frame strut 10 or arranged parallel thereto. In the example shown, three third support frame struts 11 are provided, which are connected to a second support frame strut 10. The third support frame struts 11 are aligned substantially parallel to the first support frame struts 9. This further allows for the creation of a very stable structure for supporting the battery 4.
