Description

[0001] Air supply system, vehicle system, motor vehicle and method for supplying an air consumer

[0002] The invention relates to an air supply system for supplying at least one air consumer of a motor vehicle. In particular, the invention relates to such an air supply system that is configured to compress the intake air and reduce the amount of water in the intake air before the intake and compressed air is supplied to the air consumer. The invention also relates to a vehicle system and a motor vehicle having such an air supply system, as well as to methods that can be carried out using such an air supply system.

[0003] Air supply systems are used in motor vehicles to supply air consumers, such as brake cylinders, air springs or other components of pneumatic vehicle systems, with air.

[0004] DE 10 2020 119 792 A1 and DE 20 2004 002 910 U1 disclose air supply systems in which air is drawn in from a cold section of an air conditioning system. The drawn-in air can be fed to an air dryer. Drawing air from the cold section reduces environmental influences.

[0005] Efficient drying of the intake air is desirable. As explained in DE 10 2020 119 792 A1, the regeneration cycle of an air dryer can be extended by drawing air from the cold section of the air conditioning system. Further improvement in the drying of intake air in an air supply system is desirable, for example, to further extend the operating time of an air dryer until regeneration.

[0006] The object of the invention is to provide an improved air supply system and an improved method that enables the efficient dehumidification of drawn-in air. This object is achieved by an air supply system, a vehicle system, a motor vehicle, and a method as defined in the independent claims. The dependent claims define advantageous or preferred embodiments.

[0007] According to one aspect of the invention, an air supply system for a motor vehicle having an air conditioning system is provided. The air supply system is configured to supply at least one air consumer separate from the air conditioning system. The air supply system comprises: an intake opening for drawing in air, a compressor for compressing the drawn-in air, and a condenser cooler fluidly connected to the compressor. The condenser cooler is arranged in a cold air region of the air conditioning system.

[0008] By placing a condenser cooler in the cold air zone of the air conditioning system, particularly efficient dehumidification of the air supplied to at least one air consumer can be achieved. The air supply system takes advantage of the fact that the efficiency of the condenser cooler depends on the ambient temperature of the condenser cooler. By positioning the condenser cooler in the cold air zone, the dehumidification of the air supplied to at least one air consumer can be achieved particularly efficiently.

[0009] Advantageously, the condensing cooler can be arranged along an air conditioning air flow path extending from an evaporator of the air conditioning system to a vehicle interior.

[0010] This allows the condensing cooler to be positioned in an air conditioning airflow that has already been cooled by the air conditioning system's evaporator.

[0011] The condenser can advantageously be arranged such that cold air generated by the evaporator flows around or through it. This allows for particularly efficient dehumidification by the condenser. This particularly takes advantage of the fact that the condenser's efficiency is high when cold air from the air conditioning system flows around or through it.

[0012] Advantageously, the condensation cooler can be configured to dehumidify an inlet air flow of the condensation cooler in order to provide an outlet air flow of the condensation cooler.

[0013] As a result, a condensing cooler coolant circuit can be used to cool and dehumidify the air supplied to the at least one air consumer. The condensing cooler coolant circuit can comprise, in a conventional manner, a condensing cooler condenser and a condensing cooler compressor, with the condensing cooler condenser being fluidly connected to the condensing cooler evaporator via a valve.

[0014] The air supply system may include an adsorption dryer configured to further dehumidify the output air flow of the condensation cooler.

[0015] This allows for multi-stage dehumidification within the air supply system. The dehumidification already achieved by the condensation cooler as the first dehumidification stage allows for more compact dimensions of the air supply system dehumidification tank used for further dehumidification in a second dehumidification stage and / or for its operating time to be extended until regeneration.

[0016] Advantageously, the condensation cooler can be arranged along the air conditioning air flow path between the evaporator and a heater of the air conditioning system.

[0017] This allows the condenser to be positioned in the air conditioning system's airflow path so that air that has not yet passed through the heater flows around or through it. Alternatively, the condenser can be arranged downstream of the evaporator and an air conditioning system heater along the air conditioning system's airflow path.

[0018] This also allows for the condenser to be positioned downstream of the heater (relative to the air conditioning system's airflow path toward the vehicle interior). This can be advantageous, for example, for space reasons.

[0019] Advantageously, the condensation cooler can be arranged in an evaporator box of the air conditioning system.

[0020] This allows for particularly efficient dehumidification by the condenser. This takes advantage of the fact that the condenser's efficiency is particularly high when cold air flows around or through it in the evaporator box, which has already passed through the air conditioning system's evaporator.

[0021] Advantageously, the air supply system may further comprise at least one pneumatic arrangement for guiding an output air flow of the condensation cooler to the at least one air consumer.

[0022] As a result, the output air flow of the condensation cooler dehumidified by the condensation cooler can be passed on to at least one air consumer.

[0023] The pneumatic arrangement can comprise at least one compressed gas container and one or more controllable valves (in particular at least one 2 / 2-way valve) between the compressed gas container and the condensation cooler in order to supply the compressed gas container with the output air stream dehumidified by the condensation cooler. The one or more controllable valves (in particular at least one 2 / 2-way valve) can alternatively or additionally be provided between the compressed gas container and the at least one air consumer in order to supply compressed gas from the compressed gas container to the at least one air consumer. The pneumatic arrangement can comprise fluid connections between the aforementioned components.

[0024] This allows the dehumidified and cooled air to be stored in the compressed gas container and, when required, passed on to at least one air consumer in a controlled manner, for example under the control of a control system.

[0025] Advantageously, the condensation cooler can be arranged along an air supply system flow path (which extends from the intake opening to the air consumer) between the compressor and the at least one air consumer.

[0026] This allows the air drawn in, compressed and thus heated by the compressor, to be cooled and dehumidified in the condensation cooler. The disclosed advantages of arranging the condensation cooler in the cold air section of the air conditioning system can be achieved for a condensation cooler in a compressor path of the air supply system. Compression increases the absolute humidity of the compressed air. Since air compression by the compressor simultaneously leads to a significant increase in the temperature of the compressed air, the relative humidity, on the other hand, does not increase, or only increases in a minimal amount. Depending on the increase in temperature, compression may even lead to a reduction in relative humidity. As a result, compression does not lead to condensation of water as long as the temperature of the compressed air is sufficiently high. The arrangement of the condensation cooler enables efficient dehumidification.

[0027] Alternatively, the condensing cooler may be arranged along an air supply system flow path (extending from the intake opening to the air consumer) between the intake opening and the compressor.

[0028] The disclosed advantages of arranging the condensation cooler in the cold air area of the air conditioning system can be achieved for a condensation cooler in the intake path of the air supply system. A vehicle system according to a further aspect of the invention has at least one air consumer and the air supply system according to one aspect or embodiment of the invention for supplying the at least one air consumer.

[0029] The technical effects achieved by the vehicle system correspond to the technical effects explained with reference to the air supply system. In particular, efficient dehumidification of the air supplied to the air consumer is achieved.

[0030] Advantageously, the vehicle system may comprise a sensor cleaning system, an air suspension system, a braking system, a transmission shifting system, a door sealing system, a pneumatic locking system and / or a tire inflation system.

[0031] As a result, the efficient dehumidification achieved by the air supply system according to embodiments can be used for air consumers for which the use of dehumidified air is advantageous, for example with regard to their service life and / or to achieve efficient sensor cleaning.

[0032] Advantageously, the vehicle system may comprise a vehicle sensor.

[0033] As a result, the efficient dehumidification achieved by the air supply system according to embodiments can be used for efficient sensor cleaning, whereby the application of moisture to the vehicle sensor is reduced due to the dehumidification.

[0034] Advantageously, the vehicle system can be configured to generate a directed cleaning air flow for cleaning the vehicle sensor.

[0035] As a result, the efficient dehumidification achieved by the air supply system according to embodiments can be used for efficient sensor cleaning, whereby the application of moisture to the vehicle sensor is reduced due to the dehumidification.

[0036] Advantageously, the vehicle system may further comprise an electronic controller coupled to an output of the vehicle sensor. The electronic controller may be configured to control at least one controllable vehicle component.

[0037] As a result, the efficient dehumidification achieved by the air supply system according to embodiments can be used in the context of sensor-based driver assistance systems and / or autonomous driving systems.

[0038] Advantageously, the vehicle system may also include air conditioning.

[0039] This achieves the advantages explained in the context of the air supply system.

[0040] Advantageously, the condensation cooler of the air supply system can be arranged in an evaporator box of the air conditioning system.

[0041] This allows for particularly efficient dehumidification by the condenser. This takes advantage of the fact that the condenser's efficiency is particularly high when cold air flows around or through it in the evaporator box, which has already passed through the air conditioning system's evaporator.

[0042] A motor vehicle according to a further aspect of the invention comprises the air supply system or the vehicle system according to an aspect or embodiment of the invention.

[0043] According to a further aspect of the invention, a method is provided for supplying at least one air consumer through an air supply system of a motor vehicle, wherein the motor vehicle has an air conditioning system and wherein the at least one air consumer supplied by the air supply system is separate from the air conditioning system. The method comprises: compressing intake air by a compressor of the air supply system and cooling and dehumidifying the intake air by a condensation cooler of the air supply system, which is in fluid communication with the compressor, wherein the condensation cooler is arranged in a cold air region of the air conditioning system.

[0044] According to a further aspect of the invention, a method for reducing energy consumption of an air supply system of a motor vehicle is provided, wherein the motor vehicle has at least one air consumer. The method comprises supplying the at least one air consumer with the method for supplying at least one air consumer.

[0045] According to a further aspect of the invention, a method for increasing a range of a motor vehicle, in particular an electric motor vehicle, is also specified, which comprises reducing an energy consumption of an air supply system using the method for reducing the energy consumption.

[0046] Advantageously, the methods can each be carried out with the air supply system according to an embodiment of the invention, the vehicle system according to an embodiment of the invention or the motor vehicle according to an embodiment of the invention.

[0060] Fig. 18 is a flowchart of a method according to one embodiment.

[0061] The invention, which is described in detail below with reference to embodiments illustrated in the figures, provides, in a technically advantageous manner, a specific arrangement of a condensation cooler of an air supply system in relation to components of an air conditioning system. In order to conceptually distinguish between different pneumatic paths, air flows in the air conditioning system are referred to in this application as air conditioning system air flows, unless it is obvious from the context (in particular from the reference symbols used) that they are an air conditioning system air flow. Similarly, components of the air conditioning system, such as a compressor or an evaporator of the air conditioning system, are referred to as air conditioning system compressor and air conditioning system evaporator, unless it is obvious from the context (in particular from the reference symbols used) that they are the corresponding components of the air conditioning system.

[0062] Even if, for reasons of clarity, only one air consumer is shown in each of the figures, the air supply system can be configured to serve multiple air consumers. The air supply system can be configured and installed in such a way that it is designed to supply exactly one air consumer or multiple air consumers.

[0063] Fig. 1 shows a motor vehicle 10 having a vehicle system 80. The vehicle system 80 has at least one air consumer 11, an air supply system 40 for supplying the at least one air consumer 11, and an air conditioning system 20. The air conditioning system 20 has an air conditioning evaporator 21 arranged in an evaporator box 22. The air conditioning system 20 is configured to transport air along an air conditioning air flow path 23 into a vehicle interior 18. The air conditioning system 20 is configured such that air cooled by the air conditioning evaporator 21 flows as a cold air stream 25 in a cold region of the air conditioning air flow path 23, which is located downstream of the evaporator 21 along the air conditioning air flow path 23, towards a vehicle interior 18.

[0064] The air supply system 40 has an intake opening 45, a compressor 42 for compressing the air drawn in through the intake opening 45, and a condensation cooler 41. The condensation cooler 41 is configured to cool and dehumidify an input air stream received from the condensation cooler 41 at a first condensation cooler connection 61 and to output the cooled and dehumidified air as an output air stream at a second condensation cooler connection 62.

[0065] The condensation cooler 41 is positioned in the cold region of the air conditioning system's air flow path 23, which is located downstream of the air conditioning system's evaporator 21 along the air conditioning system's air flow path 23 (with respect to the air conditioning system's air flow path 23 toward the vehicle interior 18). When the air conditioning system 20 is in operation, the condensation cooler 41 of the air supply system is thus positioned in the cold air flow 25 of the air conditioning system. For this purpose, the condensation cooler 41 can be positioned, in particular, within the evaporator box 22 such that it is arranged downstream of the evaporator 21 along the air conditioning system's air flow path 23. This arrangement utilizes the dependence of the efficiency of the condensation cooler 41 on an ambient temperature in a technically advantageous manner to dehumidify and cool the air supplied to the air consumer 11 in an energy-efficient manner.

[0066] Dehumidification refers to a reduction in the amount of water, although the amount of water need not be reduced to zero. The amount of water in the outlet air stream of the condensation cooler 41 at the second condensation cooler connection 62 can be greater than zero. A further reduction in the amount of water can be achieved by an adsorption dryer of the air supply system, as will be explained in more detail, for example, with reference to Fig. 8.

[0067] The air supply system 40 has a compressor 42 for compressing the intake air 19 and a drive 43 for driving the compressor 42. In the embodiment shown in Fig. 1, the condensation cooler 41 is arranged in a compressor path of the air supply system 40. The condensation cooler

[0068] 41 is arranged downstream of the compressor 42 with respect to an air supply system flow path, i.e. between the compressor 42 and a gas pressure vessel and / or the at least one air consumer 11. The condensation cooler 41 is thus arranged and configured to be separated from the compressor

[0069] 42 provided compressed - and thus heated - sucked air at the first condensation cooler connection 61, to cool and dehumidify it and to output it at the second condensation cooler connection 62.

[0070] The air supply system 40 has an intake line 51, which has the intake opening 45 or is directly connected thereto. The intake line 51 is connected to the compressor 42, for example, directly connected to the compressor 42 to enable compression of the intake air 19 by the compressor 42. The compressor 42 is connected to the first condensation cooler connection 61 via a first connecting line 52. The first connecting line 52 can be directly connected to both the first compressor 42 and the condensation cooler 41. The second condensation cooler connection 62 is directly connected to a second connecting line 53, which is configured to further direct the dehumidified and cooled air provided via the second condensation cooler connection 62 toward the air consumer 11. The second connecting line 53 can be directly connected to the air consumer 11.However, the second connecting line 53 can also be connected to a compressed air inlet 72 of an air consumer system 70, wherein one or more pneumatic components of a pneumatic system 71 can be provided between the compressed air inlet 72 of the air consumer system 70 and the air consumer 11. The pneumatic system 71 can, in particular, have a compressed air tank for storing air dehumidified by the condensation cooler 41 and a 2 / 2-way valve (for example, a 2 / 2-way solenoid valve) between the compressed air tank and the condensation cooler 41, as will be described in more detail with reference to Fig. 8. The pneumatic system 71 can have one or more controllable valves for supplying compressed air to the air consumer 11 in a controlled manner. The air supply system 40 can thus have a pneumatic system 71, which can have a compressed air tank for storing air dehumidified by the condensation cooler 41, a 2 / 2-way valve and / or one or more other controllable valves to supply the dehumidified air provided by the condensation cooler 41 at the second condensation cooler connection 62 to the air consumer 11. The pneumatic system 71 is directly connected to the second condensation cooler connection 62 via the second connecting line 53. The air consumer 11 is directly connected to the pneumatic system 71 via a supply connection 73. The connecting line 51, the connecting lines 52, 53 and the supply connection 73 can be designed as tubular line elements, as channels in vehicle components or otherwise.

[0071] An embodiment as disclosed with reference to Fig. 1 is technically advantageous since the condensation cooler 41 is designed and arranged to cool and dehumidify the air already compressed by the compressor 42.

[0072] During operation of the vehicle system 80, in an operating state in which the air conditioning system 20 and the air supply system 40 are in operation, the intake air 19 is cooled and dehumidified by the condensation cooler 41 after being compressed by the compressor 42 in the air supply system 40. This occurs in an energy-efficient manner, since the condensation cooler 41 is positioned such that cold air 25 from the air conditioning system 20 flows around it, and optionally also through it.

[0073] Fig. 2 shows a motor vehicle with a vehicle system 80 that has a

[0074] Air supply system 40 according to a further embodiment. The

[0075] The air supply system 40 is configured and arranged such that the condensation cooler 41 is arranged in an intake path of the air supply system 40. The condensation cooler 41 is arranged between the intake opening 45 and the compressor 42 with respect to an air supply system flow path (with flow direction toward the air consumer 11). The condensation cooler 41 is thus arranged and configured to receive air 19 drawn in via the intake opening 45 at the first condensation cooler connection 61, to cool and dehumidify it, and to discharge it at the second condensation cooler connection 62 in the direction of the compressor 42. The air supply system 40 has an intake line 54, which has the intake opening 45 or is directly connected to it. The intake line 54 is connected to the condensation cooler 41, in particular directly connected thereto, in order to guide the intake air 19 to the condensation cooler 41 before its compression.

[0076] The second condensation cooler connection 62 is directly connected to a first connecting line 55, which is configured to direct the dehumidified and cooled air provided via the second condensation cooler connection 62 toward the compressor 42 and the air consumer 11. The first connecting line 55 can be directly connected to both the condensation cooler 41 and the first compressor 42. The compressor 42 is connected via a second connecting line to a compressed air inlet 72 of an air consumer system 70. One or more pneumatic components of a pneumatic system 71 can be provided between the compressed air inlet 72 of the air consumer system 70 and the air consumer 11, as explained with reference to Fig. 1.

[0077] During operation of the vehicle system 80, in an operating state in which the air conditioning system 20 is in operation, the intake air 19 in the air supply system 40 is cooled and dehumidified by the condensation cooler 41 before being compressed by the compressor 42. This occurs in an energy-efficient manner, since the condensation cooler 41 is positioned such that cold air 25 from the air conditioning system 20 flows around it, optionally also through it. Fig. 3 and Fig. 4 show arrangements of the condensation cooler 41 in the evaporator box 22, as in each of the air supply systems disclosed here.

[0078] 40 can be used. The air conditioning system 20 has an air conditioning flow path 23 with a first section 23.1 and a second section 23.2, wherein the first section 23.1 is arranged upstream of the air conditioning evaporator 21 with respect to the air conditioning flow path 23 (with respect to a flow direction towards the vehicle interior 18) and the second section 23.2 is arranged downstream of the air conditioning evaporator 21. The evaporator box 22, which is also referred to in technology as an air conditioning box, has an evaporator box inlet 22.1 and an evaporator box outlet 22.2. The air conditioning system 20 is designed and arranged to supply an air conditioning air flow 25.1, which is in any case cooled by the air conditioning evaporator 21, to the vehicle interior 18 via the evaporator box outlet 22.2.

[0079] During operation of the air conditioning system 20, the air conditioning system evaporator 21 provides a cold air flow 25. This can be heated by a heater 24 of the air conditioning system to generate a temperate cold air flow 25.1.

[0080] Fig. 3 shows an arrangement that can be used in any of the air supply systems 40 disclosed here, wherein the condensation cooler

[0081] 41 is positioned along the air conditioning flow path 23 between the air conditioning evaporator 21 and the heater 24. Such an arrangement is technically advantageous because the condensation cooler 41 is arranged in the flow of cold air 25 and thus has a good degree of efficiency even when the heater 24 heats the cold air 25, and a temperature of the tempered cold air 25.1 is thus higher than a temperature of the cold air 25. The second section 23.2 of the air conditioning flow path 23.2 has a first part 23.21 between the air conditioning evaporator 21 and the condensation cooler 41, a second part 23.22 between the condensation cooler 41 and the heater 24, and a third part 23.23 downstream (with respect to the air conditioning flow path 23 in the direction of the vehicle interior 18) of the heater 24. The condensation cooler 41 is positioned so that it is located between the first and second parts 23.21, 23.22 of the air conditioning system flow path 23 and is surrounded and / or flowed through by the cold air 25 during operation of the air conditioning system. The temperature of the cold air 25 changes along the air conditioning system flow path 23 and is slightly higher in the second part 23.22 than in the first part 23.21. This does not conflict with the effects disclosed here.

[0082] Fig. 4 shows an arrangement that can be used in any of the air supply systems 40 disclosed herein, wherein the condensation cooler 41 is positioned along the air conditioning system flow path 23 downstream of both the air conditioning system evaporator 21 and the heater 24. Such an arrangement has the technical effect that the condensation cooler 41 has a good efficiency at least when a temperature of the tempered cold air 25.1 is lower than an ambient air temperature. The second section 23.2 of the air conditioning flow path 23.2 has a first part 23.21 between the air conditioning evaporator 21 and the heater 24, a second part 23.22 between the heater 24 and the condensation cooler 41 and a third part 23.23 downstream (with respect to the air conditioning flow path 23 in the direction of the vehicle interior) of the condensation cooler 41.The condensation cooler 41 is positioned between the second and third parts 23.22, 23.23 of the air conditioning system flow path 23, through which the tempered cold air 25.1 flows, and is surrounded and / or traversed by the tempered cold air 25.1 during operation of the air conditioning system. The temperature of the cold air 25 changes along the air conditioning system flow path 23 and is higher in the third part 23.23 than in the second part 23.22. Despite this fact, the effects disclosed here can still be achieved.

[0083] Fig. 5 shows a schematic representation of the condensation cooler 41 to illustrate an implementation of the condensation cooler 41 as can be used in any of the air supply systems 40 disclosed herein. The condensation cooler 41 is designed as a passive condensation cooler.

[0084] The condensation cooler 41 has the first condensation cooler connection 61 for receiving air to be cooled and dehumidified and the second condensation cooler connection 62 for discharging the cooled and dehumidified air toward the air consumer 11. The condensation cooler 41 has at least one condensation surface 63. The at least one condensation surface 63 can be arranged in a housing 60 that has the first condensation cooler connection 61 and the second condensation cooler connection 62. The condensation cooler 41 is configured to lower the temperature of a condensation cooler inlet air stream 81 so that water from the condensation cooler inlet air stream 81 condenses on the at least one condensation surface 63. The air thus cooled and dehumidified can be discharged via the second condensation cooler connection 62 as a condensation cooler outlet air stream 82 toward the air consumer 11.The condensation cooler 41 has a water collection tank 67 for collecting water condensed on the at least one condensation surface 63. The water collection tank 67 can be designed as a water collection tank with a water drainage device 67, as shown in Fig. 7, Fig. 8, Fig. 9, Fig. 12, Fig. 13, Fig. 14, and Fig. 16. This allows the collected quantities of condensed water to be drained away.

[0085] As explained, the condensation cooler 41 is positioned such that the cold air 25 or the tempered cold air 25.1 of the air conditioning system flows around and / or through it. The efficiency of the condensation cooler 41 is thereby increased, particularly compared to an arrangement in which the condensation cooler 41 is surrounded by ambient air at a temperature higher than the temperature of the cold air 25 or the tempered cold air 25.1.

[0086] Fig. 6 shows a schematic representation of the condensation cooler 41 to illustrate an implementation of the condensation cooler 41 as can be used in any of the air supply systems 40 disclosed herein. The condensation cooler 41 is designed as an active condensation cooler.

[0087] The condensation cooler 41 has the first condensation cooler connection 61 for receiving air to be cooled and dehumidified, and the second condensation cooler connection 62 for discharging the cooled and dehumidified air toward the air consumer 11. The condensation cooler 41 has a condensation cooler coolant circuit comprising a condensation cooler evaporator 63.1, an overflow valve 65 (which may be configured as a regulating valve), a condensation cooler condenser 64, and a condensation cooler compressor 66. The condensation cooler 41 also has condensation cooler lines comprising a first condensation cooler line 69.1 connecting the condensation cooler condenser 64 to the condensation cooler compressor 66, and a second condensation cooler line 69.2 connecting the condensation cooler compressor 66 to the condensation cooler evaporator 63.1.The condensation cooler 41 has a water collection tank 67 for collecting water condensed on the condensation surface 63, for example, an outer surface of the condensation cooler evaporator 63.1. The water collection tank 67 can be designed as a water collection tank with a water drainage device 67, as shown in Fig. 7, Fig. 8, Fig. 9, Fig. 12, Fig. 13, Fig. 14, and Fig. 16. This allows the collected amounts of condensed water to be drained away.

[0088] During operation of the condensation cooler, the condensation cooler compressor 66 liquefies a condensation cooler coolant. The liquid condensation cooler coolant evaporates in the condensation cooler evaporator 63.1, whereby a condensation cooler inlet air stream 81 passing over the condensation cooler evaporator 63.1 is cooled, and water from the condensation cooler inlet air stream 81 condenses on the outer surface of the condensation cooler evaporator 63.1. The thus cooled and dehumidified air can be conveyed to the second condensation cooler connection 62 under the influence of a fan 68 and discharged via the second condensation cooler connection 62 as a condensation cooler outlet air stream 82 toward the air consumer 11 and / or an optionally present gas pressure vessel. The condensation cooler 41 has a housing 60 having the first condensation cooler connection 61 and the second condensation cooler connection 62.The housing 60 may define a flow path that directs the condensing cooler inlet air flow 81 past the outer surface of the condensing cooler evaporator 63.1 to ensure the cooling and dehumidification of this air flow.

[0089] The condensation cooler 41 is positioned such that the cold air 25 or the tempered cold air 25.1 of the air conditioning system flows around or through the condensation cooler condenser 64. The efficiency of the condensation cooler 41 is thereby increased, particularly compared to an arrangement in which the condensation cooler 41 is surrounded by ambient air at a temperature higher than the temperature of the cold air 25 or the tempered cold air 25.1.

[0090] Fig. 7 shows a vehicle system 80 according to a further embodiment. The air supply system 40 of the vehicle system 80 can have the configuration already explained. The condensation cooler 41 can be designed as shown in Fig. 5 and is shown in a simplified form. Fig. 7 shows additional features of the air conditioning system 20 of the vehicle system 80.

[0091] The air conditioning system 80 has an air conditioning refrigerant circuit including an air conditioning compressor 32, an air conditioning condenser 28, an air conditioning dehumidifying tank 29, an air conditioning regulating valve 31, and the evaporator 21.The air conditioning coolant circuit has a plurality of air conditioning coolant lines connecting the aforementioned components, in particular: a first air conditioning coolant line 33 connecting the air conditioning condenser 28 to the air conditioning dehumidification tank 29, a second air conditioning coolant line 34 connecting the air conditioning dehumidification tank 29 to the air conditioning regulating valve 31, a third air conditioning coolant line 35 and a fourth air conditioning coolant line 36 each connecting the air conditioning regulating valve 31 to the evaporator 21, a fifth air conditioning coolant line 37 connecting the air conditioning regulating valve 31 to the air conditioning compressor 32, and a sixth air conditioning coolant line 38 connecting the air conditioning compressor 32 to the air conditioning condenser 28.To induce and / or convey the air conditioning air flow at low driving speeds or when the motor vehicle is stationary, the air conditioning system 20 can have an air conditioning fan 27 configured to convey an air conditioning inlet air flow 26 from a vehicle's surroundings toward the air conditioning condenser 28. In the air conditioning system 20, the conveyed air moves along the first section 23.1 of the air conditioning flow path from the air conditioning condenser 28 to the evaporator 21. The air conditioning system 20 has a further air conditioning fan 30 to convey the air conditioning air flow along the evaporator 21 to generate the cold air flow 25, which cools the condensation cooler 41 of the air supply system 40 in the evaporator box 22 of the air conditioning system 20 before flowing further toward the vehicle interior 18.

[0092] The air supply system 40 is designed such that the compressed air compressed by the compressor 42 is fed via the first connecting line 52 to the condensation cooler 41, around which cold air 25 flows and / or through. Cooling the compressed air causes water to condense, thus drying the compressed air. The air supply system 40 is designed such that the dried compressed air is fed to the pneumatic system 71 via the second connecting line 53.

[0093] Fig. 8 shows a further embodiment of the vehicle system 80, particularly illustrating further components and features of the air supply system 40. These components and features of the air supply system 40 can be used not only in the air supply system 40 of Fig. 8, but also in all other air supply systems 40 disclosed herein.

[0094] The air supply system 40 has an adsorption dryer 44 for further reducing the amount of water in the condensation cooler outlet air stream 82 of the condensation cooler 41. The adsorption dryer 44 is connected to the second condensation cooler connection 62 via a second connecting line 53.1 to receive the condensation cooler outlet air stream 82 of the condensation cooler 41. The adsorption dryer 44 is directly connected to the pneumatic system 71 via a third connecting line 53.2. As already explained, the air dehumidified by the condensation tank 41 can be supplied to the air consumer 11 in a controlled manner from a compressed gas tank 58 via one or more controllable valves of the pneumatic system 71 and a controllable 2 / 2-way valve 57. The compressed gas container can temporarily store the dehumidified air provided by the condensation cooler 41 and the adsorption dryer 44.The air supply system 40 can be configured to temporarily store the dehumidified and cooled air before it is supplied to the air consumer 11. For this purpose, the air supply system 40 can have a gas container, for example, the compressed gas container 58, and the 2 / 2-way valve 57 (for example, a 2 / 2-way solenoid valve) or another controllable valve. The 2 / 2-way valve.

[0095] 57 is connected directly to the compressed air tank via a fourth connecting line 53.5

[0096] 58. The 2 / 2-way valve is fluidly connected to the third connecting line 53.2 via a fifth connecting line 53.4. The adsorption dryer 44 is connected to the 2 / 2-way valve 57 via a portion of the third connecting line 53.2 and a third connecting line 53.2. The 2 / 2-way valve 57 is controllable to selectively store dehumidified compressed air from the third connecting line 53.2 in the compressed air tank 58. The 2 / 2-way valve 57 is controllable to supply compressed air from the compressed air tank 58 to the pneumatic system 71 in order to provide it to the air consumer 11.

[0097] The air supply system 40 can be designed and configured to supply different types of air consumers. Different configurations of the vehicle system 80, each having different types of air consumers, are described with reference to FIGS. 9 to 15. The air supply system 40 can be configured to supply several different types of air consumers of the same motor vehicle with air dehumidified by the condensation cooler 41. Thus, the two or more than two different types of air consumers described with reference to FIGS. 9 to 15 can be provided in the same vehicle system 80, with the air supply system 40 providing dehumidified air to supply the different types of air consumers.

[0098] Fig. 9 is a schematic representation of a vehicle system having a sensor cleaning system 90. The motor vehicle has at least one sensor 12. The at least one sensor 12 can comprise an image sensor or another type of sensor, for example a sensor that measures non-contact using electromagnetic radiation, e.g., a distance sensor. The motor vehicle 10 has a controller 13 that is in communication with the at least one sensor via a transmission path 94, for example, a digital or analog signal line or a vehicle bus. The controller 13 is configured to control one or more controllable vehicle components 14 depending on information acquired by the at least one sensor 12. The controllable vehicle components 14 can comprise a human-machine interface and / or vehicle actuators. The controller 13 can be configured to execute at least one driver assistance function or one autonomous driving function depending on the information detected by the at least one sensor 12 and to control the controllable vehicle component(s) 14 accordingly based on the information detected by the at least one sensor 12.

[0099] The sensor cleaning system 90 has at least one nozzle 91 as an air consumer. The nozzle 91 is configured to emit a directed cleaning air stream 98 for cleaning the at least one sensor 12. The directed cleaning air stream 98 can comprise a sequence of compressed air pulses. To generate the directed cleaning air stream 98, the controller 13 can be configured to control at least one controllable valve (for example, a controllable 2 / 2-way valve 76) of the pneumatic system 71 and / or the controllable 2 / 2-way valve 57 in order to selectively supply the nozzle 91 with compressed air from the compressed gas container 58. The control can occur automatically, for example, in response to contamination of the at least one sensor 12, which can be detected based on the information acquired by the at least one sensor 12, and / or based on the time elapsed since the last sensor cleaning. To control the at least one controllable valve (for example the controllable 2 / 2-way valve 76) of the pneumatic system 71 and / or the controllable 2 / 2-way valve 57, the controller is coupled to the pneumatic system 71 via a transmission path 95, for example a digital or analog signal line or a vehicle bus.

[0100] The controller 13 can be configured to control the drive 43 of the compressor 42. For this purpose, the controller 13 can be connected to the drive 42 via a transmission path 96, for example, a digital or analog signal line or a vehicle bus. The controller 13 can be configured to control the drive 43 depending on an operating state of the air conditioning system 20, depending on a pressure in the compressed gas container 58, and / or depending on a parameter relating to the at least one sensor 12.For example, the controller 13 can be configured to control the drive 43 to pump dehumidified and cooled gas into the compressed gas container 58 when the pressure in the compressed gas container 58 meets a first criterion (e.g., is less than a pressure threshold) and the parameter relating to the at least one sensor 12 meets a second criterion (e.g., contamination of the at least one sensor has been detected, so that cleaning must be performed, and / or when the time elapsed since the last sensor cleaning exceeds a time threshold). If the condensation cooler 41 is configured as an active condensation cooler (as shown, for example, in Fig. 6), the controller 13 can be configured to control the condensation cooler 41.Such control can, for example, also be carried out depending on the operating state of the air conditioning system 20, depending on the pressure in the compressed gas container 58 and / or depending on the characteristic variable relating to the at least one sensor 12.

[0101] The functions of the controller 13 described here can be located in one or more control devices. The controller 13 can be configured as a distributed control system that has multiple control devices to execute the functions described here.

[0102] The sensor cleaning system 90 can be configured to change a relative position and / or relative orientation of the at least one sensor 12 relative to the nozzle 91 when cleaning is to be performed. For this purpose, the relative position and / or relative orientation can be selectively changed to perform the cleaning. The sensor cleaning system 90 can have an actuator 92 having a drive 93. The actuator 92 can be controllable by the controller 13 to change the relative position and / or relative orientation of the at least one sensor 12 relative to the nozzle 91 such that a sensor surface to be cleaned is positioned in the directed cleaning airflow 98 for cleaning. The air supply system 40 can be a dedicated air supply system for supplying only air consumers of the sensor cleaning system 90.Alternatively, other types of air consumers separate from the air conditioning system 20 can also be supplied with dehumidified compressed air from the air supply system 40.

[0116] The air supply system 40, the vehicle system 80, and the methods disclosed herein can also be used advantageously, in particular, if the adsorption dryer 44 is electrically regenerable. In this case, dehumidification by the condensation cooler 41 extends the operating times of the adsorption dryer 44 until regeneration is required. This reduces energy consumption. In electric vehicles and hybrid vehicles, this increases the range.

[0117] Fig. 16 is a schematic representation of a motor vehicle 10 with the vehicle system 80 according to one embodiment. The vehicle system 80 can have any of the configurations described with reference to Figs. 1 to 15. The motor vehicle 10 has a battery 161. The adsorption dryer 44 is electrically coupled to the battery 161 via an electrical connecting line 162. Regeneration of the adsorption dryer 44 can take place by drawing electrical energy from the battery 161.

[0118] Motor vehicle 10 can be an electric vehicle or a hybrid vehicle. Battery 161 can be a traction battery. Dehumidification by condensation cooler 41 extends the running time of adsorption dryer 44 until regeneration is required. This reduces energy consumption. In electric vehicles and hybrid vehicles, this increases the range.

[0119] Fig. 17 is a representation of the running times of the adsorption dryer 44 when drawing in ambient air for different temperatures and different relative humidity values. Fig. 17 shows the running time until regeneration is required. Data 171, 173, 175 represent the values for an air supply system in which the condensation cooler is not positioned in the cold air area of the air conditioning system. Data 172, 174, 176 represent the values for an air supply system according to an embodiment in which the condensation cooler is positioned in the evaporator box. The air supply system thus leads to an extension of the running time of the adsorption dryer 44 until regeneration is required.

[0120] Fig. 18 is a flowchart of a method 180 according to one embodiment. The method 180 can be carried out using the air supply system 40, the vehicle system 80, 90, 100, 110, 120, 130, 140, 150, or the motor vehicle 10 according to one embodiment. In step 181, dehumidified and cooled air is provided by a condensation cooler 41 positioned in an evaporator box 22 of an air conditioning system 20. In step 182, the air is used to supply at least one air consumer. The method can include intermediate storage of the air output by the condensation cooler 41 and / or further dehumidification of the air output by the condensation cooler 41. The method 180 can be used to extend a running time of the adsorption dryer 44 and / or to increase a range of the motor vehicle 10 having the air supply system 40.

[0121] Air supply systems, vehicle systems, motor vehicles, and methods according to embodiments have been described with reference to the figures. Variations and modifications may be implemented in further embodiments.

[0122] Exemplary further modifications of the embodiments disclosed in detail include, for example, the following modifications, but are not limited thereto: The intake opening 45 can be arranged outside the evaporator box 22, whereby the transmission of noise from the air supply system 40 into the vehicle interior 18 can be reduced. However, the intake opening 45 can also be positioned to draw in air from the flow path of the air conditioning system. The intake opening 45 can be arranged, in particular, in the evaporator box 22 downstream (with respect to the air conditioning system flow path toward the vehicle interior 18) of the air conditioning system evaporator 21. The air supply system makes it possible to determine an intake point (i.e., a position of the intake opening 45) from an acoustic perspective. While vehicle systems with certain types of air consumers have been explained by way of example, the embodiments are not limited thereto. The air supply system can be used to supply other air consumers, for example for lift axle systems.
