Description

[0001] POT AND / OR PAN ASSEMBLY

[0002] The present invention relates to a pot and / or pan assembly, comprising at least two cooking pots and / or cooking pans, namely a first pot or pan and a second pot or pan, wherein each pot and / or pan of the assembly comprises a receptacle for placing foodstuffs therein, wherein the receptacle of the first pot or pan is adapted for at least partially placing the receptacle of the second pot or pan therein, wherein the first pot or pan is provided with a spout for pouring foodstuffs out of the receptacle of this first pot or pan via a flow opening of the spout and wherein the second pot or pan is provided with a handle.

[0003] This pot and / or pan assembly will typically, but not limitingly, comprise cooking pots and / or cooking pans, wherein the receptacle is in this case provided to heat foodstuffs placed therein by means of a heat source. To this end, this cooking pot or cooking pan can for example be positioned on a heat-generating hob, such as an induction hob or a vitroceramic hob, as heat source, or be placed in an oven as heat source, etc. In this case, such cooking pots and / or cooking pans must therefore be suitable for being able to tolerate certain temperatures, i.e. at least temperatures for thereby being able to heat foodstuffs in a food-safe manner.

[0004] In the case of two cooking pots or cooking pans which are stackable in each other, a first cooking pot or cooking pan has a greater diameter than the second cooking pot or cooking pan and one or more handgrips of the second cooking pot or cooking pan, after this cooking pot or cooking pan has been placed, typically rest on the top edge of the first cooking pot or cooking pan.

[0005] Cooking pots and cooking pans that are stacked in each other take up quite a lot of space.

[0006] Quite a lot of solutions have already been devised for increasing the stackability of cooking pots and cooking pans.

[0007] It is for instance known for handgrips thereof to be provided in a releasably fastenable manner. Examples of cooking pots and cooking pans having releasable handgrips are described and depicted in US4,206,853A, US6,250,493Bl, US2002 / 0179618A1, EP3241468A1 and EP1476064B1.

[0008] ES1262224U describes and depicts a solution in which the top edge of a first cooking pan is placed in a cutout, provided therefor, in the handgrip of a second cooking pan stacked therein.

[0009] It is also known for handgrips of cooking pots or cooking pans that are stackable in each other to be provided with corresponding cavities and protrusions which are fittable in each other when stacking the cooking pots and cooking pans. Examples of this can be found in W02006 / 100367A1 and WO2018 / 171646A1.

[0010] GB2443789A describes and depicts a solution in which the handgrips are of convex design, such that handgrips of cooking pans stacked on top of each other are fittable in each other.

[0011] The object of the present invention is to provide a pot and / or pan assembly having improved stackability.

[0012] This object of the invention is achieved by providing a pot and / or pan assembly, comprising at least two cooking pots and / or cooking pans, namely a first pot or pan and a second pot or pan, wherein each pot and / or pan of the assembly comprises a receptacle for placing foodstuffs therein, wherein the receptacle of the first pot or pan is adapted for at least partially placing the receptacle of the second pot or pan therein, wherein the first pot or pan is provided with a spout for pouring foodstuffs out of the receptacle of this first pot or pan via a flow opening of the spout, wherein the second pot or pan is provided with a handle, and wherein the spout is adapted to allow the handle to extend through the flow opening when the receptacle of the second pot or pan is placed in the receptacle of the first pot or pan.

[0013] Allowing the handle of the second pot or pan to extend through the spout of the first pot or pan in the stacked state achieves a greatly improved stackability with respect to the known solutions. In the stacked state, the receptacle of the second pot or pan in this case extends preferably completely in the receptacle of the first pot or pan. After the second pot or pan has been placed, a top edge of the receptacle of this second pot or pan preferably extends at the level of or below the top edge of the receptacle of the first pot or pan.

[0014] The receptacle of the pots and / or pans of an assembly according to the present invention can be manufactured from different materials, such as aluminium, or cast iron, or steel, or stainless steel, etc. Preferably, the receptacle of the first pot or pan and / or the receptacle of the second pot or pan is manufactured from cast aluminium. Even more preferably, the receptacle of each pot or pan from the pot and / or pan assembly is manufactured from cast aluminium.

[0015] With cast aluminium, it is easier to produce a suitable spout in the first pot so as to be able to allow a handgrip of the second pot or pan to extend therethrough. With cast aluminium, the pots or pans can also be of particularly lightweight design. Cast aluminium also makes it possible to more easily form seamless transitions with handles in order to design such a pot or pan to be more easily cleanable.

[0016] The receptacle of such a pot or pan can more specifically be provided on the inner side with a coating which is suitable for placing foodstuffs therein. Even more specifically, this coating can be provided as a non-stick coating. Furthermore, this coating can more specifically be designed as a ceramic coating (sol-gel).

[0017] The handle of the second pot or pan comprises a zone which is provided to border the spout when the handle extends through the flow opening. At least this zone of the handle is preferably manufactured from a soft material, such as silicone, or wood, or Bakelite, etc.

[0018] Producing this zone from a soft material prevents this handle from scratching the spout of the first pot or pan when the receptacle of the second pot or pan is being placed into the first pot or pan. That zone of such a handle which will be gripped by the hand in order to lift this second pot or pan is preferably manufactured from a heat-insulating material, such as silicone, or wood, or Bakelite, etc., in order to keep this zone cool during cooking.

[0019] This handle is therefore preferably virtually completely manufactured from a heatinsulating material.

[0020] In addition to said first pot or pan and said second pot or pan, the pot and / or pan assembly preferably also comprises a first cover which is provided to close the receptacle of the first pot or pan, wherein this first cover comprises an edge which is provided to be supported on a top edge of the receptacle of the first pot or pan and wherein this first cover comprises a collar which projects with respect to the edge and is provided to extend secured in the receptacle of the first pot or pan when the edge rests on the top edge. This projecting collar is preferably provided with a closed zone in order to close the flow opening of the first pot or pan and with a flow opening in order to at least partially open the flow opening of the first pot or pan.

[0021] The flow opening of the first pot or pan can preferably be virtually completely opened by means of the flow opening in the first cover.

[0022] In a preferred embodiment, the flow opening in the first cover is provided in such a way that, when the second pot or pan is placed in the receptacle of the first pot or pan, the handle extending through the flow opening in the first pot or pan, the first cover is placeable on the first pot or pan such that the handle extends through the flow opening in the first cover.

[0023] To this end, the flow opening in the first cover is preferably open on the side facing away from the edge, such that the handle is freely fittable via this side into this flow opening.

[0024] By providing the first cover so as to be placeable on the first pot or pan, in such a way that the handle of the second pot or pan placed in the receptacle of the first pot or pan can extend through the flow opening in the first cover, the stackability of a pot and / or pan assembly according to the invention is further increased. The first cover is further preferably also provided with a securing edge which projects on the side of the edge opposite the side where the projecting collar projects with respect to this edge.

[0025] In addition, the pot and / or pan assembly can more specifically comprise a third pot or pan which comprises a receptacle for placing foodstuffs therein. In a particular embodiment, the third pot or pan is designed in such a way that the edge of the first cover is provided to be supported on a top edge of the receptacle of the third pot or pan and the securing edge of the first cover is provided to extend secured in the receptacle of the third pot or pan when the edge of the first cover rests on the top edge of the receptacle of the third pot or pan. In this way, the first pot or pan is stackable together with the second pot or pan, the first cover and this third pot or pan in a particularly compact manner.

[0026] The pot and / or pan assembly can further comprise a second cover which is provided to close the receptacle of the second pot or pan, wherein this second cover comprises an edge which is provided to be supported on atop edge of the receptacle of the second pot or pan and wherein this second cover comprises a collar which projects with respect to the edge and is provided to extend secured in the receptacle of the second pot or pan when the edge of the second cover rests on the top edge of the receptacle of the second pot or pan.

[0027] This second cover is then preferably designed in such a way that this second cover is placeable in the receptacle of the first pot or pan and the second pot or pan is placeable on top of the second cover in the receptacle of the first pot or pan, in such a way that the handle of the second pot or pan extends through the flow opening of the first pot or pan.

[0028] After the second cover has been placed and the second pot or pan has been placed on top thereof in the receptacle of the first pot or pan, a top edge of the receptacle of this second pot or pan preferably extends at the level of or below the top edge of the receptacle of the first pot or pan. Designing the second cover in this way achieves a compact, simplified stackability of a pot and / or pan assembly.

[0029] The present invention will now be explained in more detail by means of the following detailed description of a pot and pan assembly according to the present invention. The sole aim of this description is to give illustrative examples and to indicate further advantages and features of the present invention, and can therefore in no way be interpreted as a limitation of the area of application of the invention or of the patent rights defined in the claims.

[0046] The pot and pan assembly (1) depicted in the figures comprises a cooking pot (2), as first pot or pan (2), which is depicted separately in Figure 4. This cooking pot (2) comprises a receptacle (21) for placing foodstuffs therein. The receptacle (21) is provided with a spout (22) for pouring foodstuffs out of the receptacle (21) via a flow opening (23) of this spout (22). Two handgrips (24) are also provided as handles on this receptacle (21). The receptacle (21) is manufactured from cast aluminium. The handgrips (24) are preferably manufactured from silicone in order to keep these handgrips (24) cool when the receptacle (21) is being heated.

[0047] The pot and pan assembly (1) depicted additionally comprises a first cover (5) which is depicted separately in Figures 5 and 6. This first cover (5) is provided to close the receptacle (21) of the cooking pot (2). To this end, the first cover (5) comprises an edge (51) which is provided to be supported on a top edge (25) of the receptacle (21) of the cooking pot (2). In addition, the first cover (5) comprises a collar (52) which projects with respect to the edge (51) so as to extend secured in the receptacle (21) of the cooking pot (2) when the edge (51) of the first cover (5) rests on the top edge (25) of the receptacle (21) of the cooking pot (2).

[0048] The collar (52) of the first cover (5) is provided with a closed zone (57) in order to close the flow opening (23) of the cooking pot (2). In this case, the flow opening (23) of the cooking pot (2) is completely closable by means of the closed zone (57).

[0049] In addition, the collar (52) is provided with a flow opening (53) in order to either virtually completely open the flow opening (23) of the cooking pot (2) or to partially open it and thus correspondingly enable the closed zone (57) to partially close this flow opening (23) of the cooking pot (2). When the flow opening (53) of the collar (52) at least partially opens the flow opening (23) of the cooking pot (2) in this way, it is possible, with the first cover (5) placed on the cooking pot (2), to pour foodstuffs out of the receptacle (21) via the flow openings (53, 23) in the first cover (5) and the cooking pot (2) and via the spout (22). The flow opening (53) in the collar (52) is preferably at least as large as the flow opening (23) of the cooking pot (2) in order to be able to completely open this flow opening (23). More specifically, to this end the flow opening (53) in the collar (52) can virtually be the size of the flow opening (23) of the cooking pot (2). Preferably, the flow opening (53) in the collar (52) is designed to be slightly larger than the flow opening (23) of the cooking pot (2), with the result that the flow opening (23) of the cooking pot (2) can be completely opened even when the position of the first cover (5) on the cooking pot (2) deviates slightly.

[0050] In the embodiment depicted, the collar (52) is also provided with a perforated zone (56). When the first cover (5) is placed on the cooking pot (2) and this perforated zone (56) is brought to the level of the flow opening (23) in the cooking pot (2), as depicted in Figure 14, it is possible for liquids to be poured out of the receptacle (21) of the cooking pot (2) through this perforated zone (56) and through the flow opening (23) in the cooking pot (2) via the spout (22), whilst foodstuffs having dimensions greater than the perforations of the perforated zone (56) are retained in the receptacle (21). In the embodiments depicted, the perforations in the perforated zone (56) have identical dimensions for this purpose. In alternative embodiments, the perforated zone (56) or multiple perforated zones can comprise perforations having different dimensions.

[0051] In the embodiment depicted, the first cover (5) is placeable at any position rotated through 360° in order to bring the flow opening (53) or said zones (56, 57) to the level of the flow opening (23) of the cooking pot (2). In alternative embodiments, the first cover (5) may be placeable at a number of discrete positions on top of the cooking pot (2), corresponding to various desired positions for closing or at least partially opening the flow opening (23) in the cooking pot (2).

[0052] The first cover (5) is also provided with two handgrips (54) as handles. These handgrips (54) of the first cover (5) are of corresponding design to the handgrips (24) of the cooking pot (2). The first cover (5) can be placed on the cooking pot (2) in such a way that the handgrips (24, 54) overlap. The flow opening (53) and the perforated zone (56) are situated in the collar (52) of the first cover (5) in such a way that, in a first position in which these handgrips (24, 54) overlap, the flow opening (53) in the first cover (5) opens the flow opening (23) in the cooking pot (2), and, in a second position in which these handgrips (24, 54) overlap, the perforated zone (56) overlaps the flow opening (23) in the cooking pot (2).

[0053] The first cover (5) is additionally also provided with a securing edge (55) which projects on the side of the edge (51) of the cover (5) opposite the side where the projecting collar (52) projects with respect to this edge (51).

[0054] In the embodiment depicted, the edge (51) of the first cover (5), together with the collar (52) and the securing edge (55), is manufactured from silicone. This edge (51) and this collar (52) thus cannot damage the cooking pot (2). This makes it possible for the first cover (5) to also be used as a trivet for placing the cooking pot (2) thereon. This first cover (5) is also provided with glass (58), which is enclosed in the edge (51), in order to be able to view the contents of the receptacle (21) of the cooking pot (2).

[0055] The pot and pan assembly (1) depicted further comprises a saucepan (3), as second pot or pan, which is depicted separately in Figure 7. This saucepan (3) comprises a receptacle (31) for placing foodstuffs therein. The receptacle (31) is provided with a spout (32) for pouring foodstuffs out of the receptacle (31) via a flow opening (33) of this spout (32). A stem (34) is also provided as handle on this receptacle (31). The receptacle (31) is manufactured from cast aluminium. The stem (34) is preferably manufactured from silicone in order to keep this stem (34) cool when the receptacle (31) is being heated.

[0056] The pot and pan assembly (1) depicted further comprises a second cover (6) which is depicted separately in Figure 8. This second cover (6) is provided to close the receptacle (31) of the saucepan (3). To this end, the second cover (6) comprises an edge (61) which is provided to be supported on a top edge (35) of the receptacle (31) of the saucepan (3). In addition, the second cover (6) comprises a collar (62) which projects with respect to the edge (61) so as to extend secured in the receptacle (31) of the saucepan (3) when the edge (61) of the second cover (6) rests on the top edge (35) of the receptacle (31) of the saucepan (3).

[0057] Analogously to in the case of the first cover (5), the collar (62) of the second cover (6) is also provided with a closed zone (67), a flow opening (63) and a perforated zone (66).

[0058] The second cover (6) is also provided with two handgrips (64) as handles and is also provided with a securing edge (65) which projects with respect to the edge (61) on the side opposite the side where the collar (62) projects with respect to this edge (61).

[0059] Also analogously to in the case of the first cover (5), the second cover (6) is also manufactured from silicone and glass (68).

[0060] In addition, the pot and pan assembly (1) depicted comprises a frying pan (4), as third pot or pan, which is depicted separately in Figure 9. This frying pan (4) comprises a receptacle (41) for placing foodstuffs therein. The receptacle (41) is provided with a spout (42) for pouring foodstuffs out of the receptacle (41) via a flow opening (43) of this spout (42). A stem (44) is also provided as handle on this receptacle (41). The receptacle (41) is manufactured from cast aluminium. The stem (44) is manufactured from silicone in order to keep this stem (44) cool when the receptacle (41) is being heated.

[0061] As depicted in Figures 10 and 11, the first cover (5) is also placeable on the frying pan (4) in an analogous manner to on the cooking pot (2), as described above for the cooking pot (2).

[0062] The receptacle (31) of the saucepan (3) of the pot and pan assembly is placeable in the receptacle (21) of the cooking pot (2). According to the invention, the spout (22) of the cooking pot (2) and the handle (34) of the saucepan (3) are then provided in such a way that, when the receptacle (31) of the saucepan (3) is placed in the receptacle (21) of the cooking pot (2), the handle (34) can extend through the flow opening (23), as depicted in Figures 1-3 and 12-13. To this end, this handle (34) is also preferably manufactured from silicone, in order to not damage this spout. In addition, in the embodiment depicted, the second cover (6) is placeable in the receptacle (21) of the cooking pot (2) under the saucepan (3), as can be seen in Figure 3. When the second cover (6) is placed in the receptacle of the cooking pot (2) in this way, the receptacle (31) of the saucepan (3) is placeable on top of the second cover (6), in such a way that the handle (34) of the saucepan (3) extends through the flow opening (23) of the cooking pot (2). The top edge (35) of the receptacle (31) of the saucepan (3) extends at the level of the top edge (25) of the cooking pot (2), as can be seen in Figures 3 and 12.

[0063] As can be seen in Figures 3 and 13, in the embodiment depicted, the first cover (5) is additionally placeable on the cooking pot (2) in such a way that the handle (34) of the saucepan (3) extends through the flow opening (53) in the first cover (5). To this end, the flow opening (53) in the first cover (5) is designed to be open on the side facing away from the edge (51), such that the handle (34) is easily receivable in this flow opening (53) when placing the first cover (5) on the cooking pot (2).

[0064] As can also be seen in Figure is 1-3, the securing edge (55) of the first cover (5) is additionally designed in such a way that the frying pan (4) is placeable on top of the first cover (5), with the securing edge (55) secured in the receptacle (41) of the frying pan (4), the top edge (45) of the frying pan (4) resting on the edge (51) of the first cover (5). To this end, the securing edge (55) is preferably also manufactured from silicone in order to not damage the receptacle (41) of the frying pan (4).

[0065] A large number of variants of the pot and / or pan assembly (1) depicted are possible. Instead of the cooking pot, saucepan and frying pan depicted, a large number of different combinations of cooking pots and / or saucepans and / or frying pans and / or cooking pans, etc. can also be produced.

[0066] The pots and pans (2, 3, 4) depicted are each provided with one spout (22, 32, 42), but could also be provided with multiple spouts in alternative embodiments.

[0067] Instead of the handgrips (24) and stems (34, 44) depicted, it would also be possible for one or more alternative handgrips or stems to be provided. In an alternative embodiment of a pot and pan assembly according to the invention, the cooking pot (2) could for example be provided with two spouts, wherein the saucepan (3) could be replaced by a second cooking pot having two handgrips which are each placeable in a corresponding spout when placing the receptacle of this second cooking pot in the receptacle of the first-mentioned cooking pot (2). If, in addition, the frying pan (4) is also replaced by a third cooking pot, then an embodiment of the pot assembly according to the present invention comprising only cooking pots is obtained.

[0068] As a further alternative, it is for example possible for the cooking pot (2) to be replaced by a saucepan, into which the first-mentioned saucepan or a smaller frying pan as a replacement for this first-mentioned saucepan is placeable. This makes it possible to obtain an embodiment of a pan assembly according to the present invention comprising only cooking pans.

[0069] As described above, the pots (2, 3) and pan (4) depicted are produced from cast aluminium and silicone. The receptacles (21, 31, 41) can be provided with a coating, which can be provided as a non-stick coating. More specifically, a ceramic coating can be provided for this. With cast aluminium, it is easier to manufacture a suitable spout, to manufacture lightweight pots and / or pans, and to provide seamless transitions which are more easily cleanable.

[0070] As described above, the covers (5, 6) depicted are manufactured from silicone and glass.

[0071] Pots and / or pans and / or covers of alternative embodiments of pot and / or pan assemblies (1) according to the invention can, however, also be manufactured from a large number of different materials, such as steel, stainless steel, etc.

[0072] Furthermore, a pot and pan assembly (1) according to the invention can for example also comprise one or more cooking articles, such as a spoon (7), in order to manipulate the foodstuffs in a receptacle (21, 31, 41) during cooking. Such a cooking article (7) is then preferably provided with a stem (7) which, as depicted in Figure 15, is able placeable in the spout (22, 32, 42) of the receptacle (21, 31, 41) in such a way as to prevent this cooking article (7) from slipping into the receptacle (21, 31, 41). The corresponding cover (5, 6) is then preferably placeable on the receptacle (21, 31, 41), in such a way that this stem (7) can extend through the flow opening (53, 63) in the collar (52, 62) of the cover (5, 6), as depicted in Figure 16. This stem (7) then preferably has such a cross section that this stem (7) can virtually close this flow opening (53, 63), in order to limit heat loss. This stem (7) is preferably also manufactured from silicone, with the result that it does not also heat up with the receptacle (21, 31, 41) during cooking and / or with the result that it would not scratch the spout (22, 32, 42).
