Description

Attachment to be attached to a massage machine, and a percussion massage machine equipped with this attachment

[0001] The present disclosure relates to a percussion massage machine that performs a percussion massage on the treatment area of a user, and in particular to an attachment (accessory) for a percussion massage machine that enables the amplitude or direction of movement of the percussion element of the percussion massage machine to be changed. This application claims priority to Japanese Application No. 2023-151337, filed September 19, 2023, and incorporates the entire content of said Japanese application by reference.

[0002] Massage machines suitable for performing a hitting massage on a treatment area, particularly handheld massage machines that are held by the user and hit the treatment area, are already available on the market.

[0003] This type of massage machine usually has a striker (a striking massage member) that extends and retracts from the tip or side of the handle. Furthermore, the main body contains a drive motor that serves as the drive source for the striker, and a retraction conversion mechanism that converts the rotational motion of the output shaft of the drive motor into the retraction motion of the striker (see Patent Document 1 and Non-Patent Document 1).

[0006] A massage machine attachment according to one aspect of the present disclosure is an attachment that is attached to a massage machine having a reciprocating body that transmits a reciprocating motion to perform a tapping massage on the user's treatment area, and the attachment is provided with a treatment body that moves differently from the reciprocating body, and a conversion mechanism that converts the movement of the reciprocating body into the movement of the treatment body.

[0007] 1 is a front perspective view showing an attachment according to a first embodiment and a massage machine main body to which the attachment is attached. FIG. 2 is a front perspective view showing a massage machine main body to which the attachment according to the first embodiment is attached. FIG. 3 is a front perspective view showing the internal structure of the attachment according to the first embodiment. FIG. 4 is a cross-sectional view showing the internal structure of the attachment according to the first embodiment, illustrating movement of the attachment. FIG. 5 is a front perspective view showing an attachment according to a second embodiment and a massage machine main body to which the attachment is attached. FIG. 6 is a front perspective view showing the massage machine main body to which the attachment according to the second embodiment is attached. FIG. 7 is a front perspective view showing the internal structure of the attachment according to the second embodiment. FIG. 8 is a cross-sectional view showing the internal structure of the attachment according to the second embodiment, illustrating movement of the attachment. FIG. 9 is a bottom perspective view showing the internal structure of the massage machine main body.

[0008] <Problem to be Solved by the Present Disclosure> The above-described conventional massage machines (percussion massage machines) are capable of providing a comfortable percussion massage to stiff, affected areas or fatigued areas, etc. However, if the user is thin and has little muscle mass, the percussion vibrations may resonate with the user's bones or internal organs, resulting in a massage that is too strong.

[0009] To meet this demand, it may be possible to develop a massage machine with a smaller amplitude of the striker's thrust, but on the other hand, a striker massage machine with a small amplitude of thrust would be unsatisfactory for users who have stiff areas to be treated and require a stronger stimulation.

[0010] Furthermore, although a percussion massage machine has a mechanism that applies percussion vibrations to the treatment area using a percussion element, users have various needs for massage machines, and some users may want a "massage that feels like grabbing and releasing" even with this percussion massage machine. The massage machines disclosed in the prior art documents cannot meet the above-mentioned needs.

[0011] In order to meet these various demands, it is conceivable to attach an attachment (accessory) to the impact massage machine that changes the amplitude of the striker's protruding and retracting movement or that changes the direction in which the striker protrudes and retracts.

[0012] In view of the above circumstances, the present disclosure aims to provide an attachment (an attachment for a percussion massage machine) that can change the amplitude of protrusion and retraction of the striker or change the direction in which the striker protrudes and retracts by placing a cap-like covering over the portion of the striker that protrudes and retracts.

[0013] <Effects of the Present Disclosure> By attaching the attachment of the present disclosure to the part of the reciprocating body of the impact massage machine where it moves forward and backward, it is possible to change the amplitude of the movement of the reciprocating body and to vary the direction in which the treatment head that performs the treatment moves forward and backward, thereby meeting the demands of users with various needs.

[0014] <Outline of Embodiments of the Present Disclosure> Below, an outline of embodiments of the present disclosure will be listed and described.

[0027] (12) In the above (11), the main body and / or the attachment may be provided with a detection sensor that detects whether the attachment is fitted into the main body.

[0028] (13) In the above (12), the impact massager may be configured so that the operation mode of the reciprocating body is changed when the detection sensor detects that an attachment is fitted to the main body.

[0029] <Details of Embodiments of the Present Disclosure> Hereinafter, details of embodiments of the present disclosure will be described with reference to the drawings. Note that at least some of the embodiments described below may be combined in any manner.

[0030] Hereinafter, an embodiment of a massage machine according to the present disclosure will be described with reference to the drawings, taking an impact type massage machine 1 as an example.

[0031] In the description of this embodiment, the front-rear direction, left-right direction, and up-down direction shown in the drawings will be used. Also, in the drawings, some of the components are omitted for clarity.

[0032] As shown in Figures 1 and 2, the impact type massager 1 of this embodiment (hereinafter sometimes simply referred to as massager body 1) has a handle 3 that is rod-shaped with a circular cross section and sized so that a user can hold it in one hand, and a head 4 that protrudes horizontally forward from the middle of the handle 3. The head 4 is also rod-shaped with a circular cross section and has approximately the same diameter as the handle 3. The head 4 is located approximately one-third of the way down from the top end of the handle 3, and the handle 3 and head 4 are arranged approximately perpendicular to each other.

[0033] A reciprocating body 9 is provided at the tip of the head portion 4 to transmit reciprocating motion for performing a tapping massage, and a first treatment element 5, which is a tapping massage member, is attached to this reciprocating body 9.

[0034] The first treatment element 5 extends and retracts in the front-to-rear direction with an amplitude of approximately 1 cm, providing a percussive massage to the treatment area of the user. The hand-held portion 3 is a hollow cylindrical member 26, which contains a drive motor 6 that serves as the drive source for the extension and retraction movement of the first treatment element 5, a power source 7 for the drive motor 6, and an extension and retraction conversion mechanism 8 (conversion mechanism) that converts the rotational motion from the output shaft of the drive motor 6 into the extension and retraction movement of the first treatment element 5. Various configurations of the extension and retraction conversion mechanism 8 can be used. An example will be described at the end of this embodiment.

[0035] As explained above, the percussion massage machine 1 described above is capable of providing a comfortable tapping massage to stiff, affected areas or fatigued areas. However, if the user is thin and has little muscle mass, the percussion vibrations may resonate with the user's bones or internal organs, resulting in a massage that is too strong. Furthermore, in the percussion massage machine 1, the first treatment element 5 that applies percussion vibrations to the treatment area moves back and forth from the main body 1, but users have various needs for massage machines, and some users may want a "massage that feels like grabbing and releasing" even with this percussion massage machine 1.

[0036] Therefore, the applicant has developed an attachment 10 for reducing the amplitude of the first treatment element 5 (or the reciprocating body 9) or for changing the direction of massage by the first treatment element 5 (or the reciprocating body 9). The attachment 10 for reducing the amplitude of the first treatment element 5 will be described in the first embodiment, and the attachment 10 for changing the moving direction of the first treatment element 5 will be described in the second embodiment.

[0037] First Embodiment FIGS. 1 to 4 show an attachment 10 according to a first embodiment.

[0038] The attachment 10 is cubic, approximately 5 cm long from top to bottom, 5 cm wide from left to right, and 4 cm thick from front to back, with chamfered corners. A second treatment element 11, roughly the same diameter as the first treatment element 5, is provided slightly above the front wall, and this second treatment element 11 can freely extend and retract in the front-to-rear direction from the front wall of the attachment 10. A hole 12 is formed slightly below the rear wall of the attachment 10, into which the first treatment element 5 and the tip of the head 4 can be inserted. By inserting the tip of the head 4 into this hole 12, the attachment 10 is fixed to the tip of the head 4, as shown in FIG. 2 .

[0039] 3 and 4, the attachment 10 includes an amplitude conversion mechanism 13 for changing the amplitude of the first treatment element 5. The amplitude conversion mechanism 13 has a lever member 14 and a biasing member 15 for generating a biasing force that pushes the lever member 14 back toward the tip of the head portion 4 (in other words, toward the first treatment element 5).

[0040] The lever member 14 is a plate-like member that is narrow at the top and wide at the bottom, and is flared toward the bottom. The upper end of the lever member 14 is rotatable (swingable) in the front-to-rear direction (the direction in which the first treatment head 5 advances and retreats) around a shaft that faces left and right by a lever pivot shaft 28. Both ends of the lever pivot shaft 28 are attached to a case body 20 that forms the outer shell of the attachment 10.

[0041] The lever member 14 has a width from the center to the bottom end that is slightly wider than the diameter of the first treatment head 5, and the inside is concave and thin, consisting of an edge and a front wall (not shown). The reason for this concave interior will be explained later. A rod-shaped member 17 is hung from the bottom end of the lever member 14 so as to penetrate it in the left-right direction, and the top of the first treatment head 5 is positioned so as to contact this rod-shaped member 17 from the rear side (one side in the rotation direction).

[0042] A helical spring is wound around the lever pivot shaft 28A that supports the upper end of the lever member 14. This helical spring is the aforementioned biasing member 15. The lever member 14 is biased rearward by this helical spring, so that the rod-shaped member 17 is always in contact with the tip of the first treatment head 5.

[0043] On the other hand, a hemispherical protrusion 16 that protrudes rearward is formed on the rear of the second treatment element 11, and this hemispherical protrusion 16 is in contact with the front wall surface (front side, in other words, the other side in the rotation direction) of the lever member 14 at approximately half the vertical distance. In other words, when viewed from the axis of the lever rotation shaft 28A, the distance SB to the part where the first treatment element 5 contacts is approximately twice the distance SF to the part where the second treatment element 11 contacts.

[0044] FIG. 4 shows how the amplitude of the first treatment element 5 is converted by the amplitude conversion mechanism 13 of the attachment 10.

[0045] First, by turning on the switch on the handle 3 of the massager body 1, the first treatment head 5 starts to move forward and backward with an amplitude of about 1 cm.

[0046] As shown in Figure 4(a), when the attachment 10 of the first embodiment is attached to the tip of the head portion 4, when the first treatment element 5 advances, as shown in Figure 4(b), the lower end of the lever element 14, i.e., the rod-shaped element 17, moves to push out, and the lever element 14 is pushed forward around the lever pivot shaft 28A. At this time, the lever element 14 moves like a seesaw, and at a point (SF) where the rotation radius is about half from the axis of the lever pivot shaft 28A, the first treatment element 5 is pushed forward by about half the movement distance. In other words, the lever element 14 pushes the second treatment element 11 by about half (about half the amplitude of the first treatment element 5) via the hemispherical member, and the amplitude of the second treatment element 11 decreases.

[0047] As mentioned above, the rear side of the lever member 14 is recessed, and only an edge portion exists (not shown). Therefore, when the first treatment element 5 advances and pushes the rod-shaped element 17 as shown in Figure 4(b), the recessed portion reliably prevents interference between the rear wall surface of the lever member 14 and the first treatment element 5. This in turn allows the amplitude conversion mechanism 13 to operate smoothly.

[0048] Thereafter, as shown in Figure 4(a), when the first treatment element 5 retracts, the lever element 14 rotates around the lever pivot axis 28 so as to be pushed back by the biasing element 15, and contact between the rod-shaped element 17 and the first treatment element 5 is maintained.

[0049] 4(a) and 4(b) are repeated as the first treatment element 5 of the massage machine main body 1 moves back and forth, and the amplitude of the second treatment element 11 becomes smaller than that of the first treatment element 5, thereby decreasing the amplitude. In this way, by attaching and detaching the attachment 10 (accessory), the amplitude of the first treatment element 5 can be easily changed (decreased), thereby providing a percussion massage machine 1 that can reliably meet the needs of various users. Note that, to further reduce the amplitude of the second treatment element 11, it is advisable to position the contact point between the second treatment element 11 and the lever member 14 closer to the lever pivot axis 28 and change the position so that the pivot radius is shorter (distance SB > distance SF).

[0050] Second Embodiment Next, a second embodiment of the attachment 10 (accessory) according to the present disclosure will be described below.

[0051] The attachment 10 of the second embodiment is also attached to the massage machine main body 1, in which the first treatment element 5 that applies impact vibration to the treatment part reciprocates back and forth. However, users have various needs for massage machines, and in some cases, users may want a "massage that feels like grabbing and releasing" with the impact type massage machine 1.

[0052] Therefore, by attaching the attachment 10 of the second embodiment to the massage machine body 1, it becomes possible to change the direction of movement of the first treatment element 5. That is, the attachment 10 of the second embodiment changes the striking motion of the first treatment element 5 in the forward and backward directions into a grasping motion (movement in the left-right and up-down directions) by the grasping treatment element 21 (second treatment element 11), and a direction changing mechanism 25 is provided inside the attachment 10.

[0053] 5 and 6 show an attachment 10 according to a second embodiment.

[0054] The case body 20, which is the outer shell of this attachment 10, is trefoil-shaped when viewed from the front, and the rear is circular with an area approximately half that of the front, with the outer shell shape tapering from the front to the rear.

[0055] Three gripping treatment elements 21 protrude from the front surface of the case body 20. These gripping treatment elements 21 are arranged along the periphery of the attachment 10 at 120° intervals, protruding forward from three holes 22 formed in the front surface. More specifically, long arm members 23 protrude forward through the holes 22, and gripping treatment elements 21 (second treatment elements) are attached to the tips of the arm members 23.

[0056] It is sufficient that a plurality of arm members 23 are provided, and the number may be four or five. In Figures 5 and 6, the cover body covering the second treatment head 11 is omitted, but in reality, a cloth or silicone cover body may be provided so as to completely cover the second treatment head 21 and the arm members 23. Only the second treatment head may protrude from this cover body.

[0057] 5 and 6, the gripping treatment element 21 is approximately spherical and is made of a material such as plastic or rubber that does not apply load to the treatment area. The base end of the arm member 23 is connected to a direction conversion mechanism 25 built into the attachment 10 and is a component of the direction conversion mechanism 25. The action of this direction conversion mechanism 25 causes the tip end of the arm member 23, i.e., the three treatment elements, to move toward and away from each other approximately along a plane (called a vertical plane) that includes straight lines extending in the up-down and left-right directions.

[0058] A hole 12 is formed on the rear surface of the case body 20 of the attachment 10, into which the first treatment head 5 on the massage machine main body 1 and the tip of the head portion 4 can be inserted.By inserting the tip of the head portion 4 into this hole 12, the attachment 10 becomes fixed to the tip of the head portion 4 as shown in Figure 6.

[0059] As shown in FIGS. 7 and 8, the attachment 10 includes a direction changing mechanism 25 built therein, which changes the outgoing and retracting movement of the first treatment element 5 into the approaching and receding movement of the treatment element 21 by grasping it.

[0060] The direction changing mechanism 25 has a rod-shaped arm member 23, a cylindrical member 26 with a circular bottom plate 27 (engagement member) that comes into contact with the top of the first treatment head 5, and a biasing member 15 that constantly biases the cylindrical member 26 toward the first treatment head 5. It also has a rod-shaped connecting lever member 30 that connects the arm member 23 and the cylindrical member 26.

[0061] 7 and 8, a cylindrical member 26 is provided so that the center of its bottom plate 27 contacts the top of the first treatment head 5 of the massage machine body 1. The cylindrical member 26 is hollow and has an open side opposite the bottom plate 27. The cross-sectional diameter of the cylindrical member 26 is approximately the same as or slightly smaller than the diameter of the first treatment head 5.

[0062] Three connecting lever members 30 are attached at 120° intervals to the periphery of the bottom plate 27 of the cylindrical member 26. The connecting lever members 30 have a rod shape that is slightly shorter than the arm members 23, and their base ends are rotatably attached to the periphery of the bottom plate 27 of the cylindrical member 26. More specifically, the base ends of the connecting lever members 30 are rotatable around a tangent that contacts the periphery of the bottom plate 27 of the cylindrical member 26 (i.e., the circular engaging member).

[0063] A lever pivot shaft 28B, both ends of which are fixed to the case body 20 that forms the outer shell of the attachment 10, is provided in a penetrating shape at the midpoint of the connecting lever member 30. Therefore, the connecting lever member 30 is also rotatable about the axis of this lever pivot shaft 28B. Meanwhile, an arm pivot shaft 29, both ends of which are fixed to the case body 20 that forms the outer shell of the attachment 10, is also provided in a penetrating shape at the midpoint of the arm member 23. Therefore, the arm member 23 is rotatable about the axis of the arm pivot shaft 29.

[0064] The base end of the arm member 23 is rotatably connected to the tip of the connecting lever member 30. The tip of the arm member 23 protrudes forward from a hole 22 formed in the case body 20 of the attachment 10, and a gripping treatment element 21 is provided at the tip.

[0065] The biasing member 15, which is made of a helical spring, is disposed inside the cylindrical member 26. The rear end of the biasing member 15 contacts the bottom plate 27 of the cylindrical member 26, and the front end of the biasing member 15 protrudes from the open side of the cylindrical member 26 and contacts the inside of the front surface of the case body 20.

[0066] According to the direction conversion mechanism 25 having the above-described configuration, it is possible to convert the forward and backward movement of the first treatment element 5 into the grasping movement (up-down and left-right movement) of the grasping treatment element 21 .

[0067] That is, when the first treatment element 5 advances forward from the state shown in FIG. 8( a), it pushes the cylindrical element 26 forward via the bottom plate 27 of the cylindrical element 26, as shown in FIG. 8( b). At this time, the helical spring, which is the biasing element 15, is compressed. When the bottom plate 27 is pushed forward, the base end of the connecting lever element 30 is also pushed forward, and the tips of the connecting lever element 30 move backward and away from each other around the axis of the lever pivot shaft 28B like a seesaw. This causes the base ends of the arm elements 23, which are rotatably connected to the tips of the connecting lever element 30, to also move backward and away from each other. Because the arm elements 23 are pivotally supported at their midpoints by the arm pivot shaft 29, they also operate like a seesaw, and the tips of the arm elements 23 move slightly backward and toward each other. Consequently, the three gripping treatment elements 21 move toward the center, i.e., toward the inside, when viewed from the front.

[0068] 8(a) , the first treatment element 5 retracts into the head portion 4, and as a result, the biasing member 15 pushes the cylindrical member 26 backward, and the base end of the connecting lever member 30 is pulled backward, causing the connecting lever member 30 to rotate about the axis of the lever rotation shaft 28B, and the tip of the connecting lever member 30 moves toward the central axis (the axis facing the front-to-back direction and passing through the center of the first treatment element 5). Then, the base end of the arm member 23 also moves toward the center, rotating in a seesaw manner about the axis of the arm rotation shaft 29, and the gripping treatment element 21 at the tip of the arm member 23 moves away from the central axis. In other words, the three gripping treatment elements 21 move away from each other when viewed from the front.

[0069] Even if there are multiple arm members 23 (for example, four or five), when the first treatment element 5 advances forward, the tips of all of the arm members 23 move closer to each other inward, and as a result, the multiple gripping treatment elements 21 move toward the center (the center of the case body 20) when viewed from the front.

[0070] In addition, the direction changing mechanism 25 may be configured so that the connecting lever member 30 is eliminated, the base end of the arm member 23 is engaged with the bottom plate 27, and the second treatment element 21 is provided at the tip of the arm member 23. Specifically, a long groove facing toward the center of the disk-shaped bottom plate 27 is formed, and the base end of the arm member 23 is configured to be prevented from slipping out of the long groove. Then, when the first treatment element 5 pushes the bottom plate 27 forward, the base end of the arm member 23 slides along the long groove and moves toward the center of the bottom plate 27 (the above-mentioned central axis), and as a result, the tip ends of the arm members 23 can be moved in directions away from each other.

[0071] Furthermore, the tip of the first treatment head 5 can be made to be engageable with the bottom plate 27 by a magnetic member or a hook member. When the bottom plate 27 is in such an engaged state, the base end of the arm member 23 moves away from the center of the bottom plate 27 (the aforementioned central axis), and as a result, the tip ends of the arm members 23 can be moved closer to each other.

[0072] As described above, the direction conversion mechanism 25 built into the attachment 10 of the second embodiment makes it possible to convert the "front-rear movement" of the first treatment element 5, which is the first treatment element, into "left-right and up-down movement" of the grasping treatment element 21, which is the second treatment element, in other words, into "directions intersecting the extending and retracting direction of the first treatment element 5." If the movement of the treatment elements can be easily converted in this way, it becomes possible to reliably meet various user requests, for example, requests for a "massage that feels like grabbing and releasing" even with the impact massage machine 1.

[0073] However, if the period of the advance and retreat movement of the first treatment element 5 is fast and specialized for impact massage, the movement of the converted grasping treatment element 21 in the attachment 10 of the second embodiment will be too fast, and it may be difficult to obtain the desired treatment effect (grasping massage by the grasping treatment element 21). It is preferable that the grasping movement of the three grasping treatment elements 21 be performed relatively slowly.

[0074] To meet this demand, the following mechanism may be provided. That is, a small permanent magnet is embedded near the hole 12 provided in the attachment 10 of the second embodiment. Meanwhile, a magnetic sensor such as a Hall element is provided at the position of the head unit 4 corresponding to the permanent magnet. When this magnetic sensor detects magnetism, it becomes clear that the attachment 10 attached to the head unit 4 is the attachment 10 of the second embodiment, and is equipped with a mechanism for performing treatment using the gripping treatment element 21. Therefore, by slowing down the rotation speed of the drive motor 6 of the massage machine main body 1, for example, and changing the amplitude or frequency of the first treatment element, it becomes possible to achieve a comfortable movement of the gripping treatment element 21 and a gripping massage.

[0075] Specifically, the massage machine main body 1 has various operation modes and operation patterns. For example, in order to effectively relieve stiffness in the treatment area, there is an operation mode 1 in which "the first treatment element 5 (reciprocating body 9) is vibrated at low vibration and low amplitude for an initial certain period of time, then at high vibration and high amplitude, and finally at low vibration and low amplitude for a cool-down period." The user can select this operation mode 1 by selecting one of the automatic courses of the massage machine main body 1. In this case, when the magnetic sensor detects that the attachment 10 of the second embodiment has been attached, it is possible to switch to another operation mode, such as operation mode 2, in which "the first treatment element 5 (reciprocating body 9) is advanced and retreated at the same vibration frequency and amplitude from start to finish."

[0076] The attached sensor is not limited to a magnetic sensor, but may be a mechanical sensor.

[0077] [Massage Machine Body] The two types of attachments 10 described above are attached to the impact massage machine 1. However, the structure and shape of the impact massage machine 1 to which the attachment is attached are not particularly limited.

[0078] An example of the impact type massage machine 1, that is, the massage machine main body 1, is shown in FIG.

[0079] As shown in Figure 9, the massage machine main body 1 suitable for the attachment 10 of the present disclosure has a handle 3 sized to be held by a user in one hand, and a head 4 provided to protrude horizontally from the middle of the handle 3. The handle 3 and the head 4 are arranged approximately perpendicular to each other. A first treatment element 5 (first treatment element) is provided at the tip of the head 4.

[0080] The handle 3 is a hollow cylindrical member 26, and inside and at the top of the handle 3 is provided a drive motor 6 that generates a driving force for the forward and backward movement of the first treatment head 5. The shaft center of the drive motor 6 faces downward.

[0081] Meanwhile, the tip of a long rod-shaped crank arm 40 is rotatably connected to the first treatment element 5 by a crank pin, and the base end of the crank arm 40 is eccentrically attached to the rotary shaft of the drive motor 6 via an eccentric member. Meanwhile, the first treatment element 5 is rotatably attached to the tip of the crank arm 40. Therefore, when the drive motor 6 is rotated, the rotary shaft rotates, causing the base end of the crank arm 40 to rotate eccentrically. As a result, a "piston-crank motion" is generated by the crank arm 40, and the first treatment element 5 corresponding to the piston reciprocates back and forth at short intervals. In order to suppress unnecessary vibrations generated by this piston-crank motion, a counterweight is provided on the eccentric member on the opposite side of the eccentric position of the base end of the crank arm 40.

[0082] A power source 7 for driving the drive motor 6 is provided inside the lower part of the handle 3. This power source 7 is preferably a rechargeable battery.

[0083] The above-described configuration of the massage machine main body 1 is an example, and is not limited to any particular configuration as long as the first treatment element is the first treatment element 5 that moves back and forth and the attachment 10 is attached to the first treatment element 5. Furthermore, the first treatment element is not limited to one that performs a striking massage.

[0084] As described above, the embodiments disclosed herein should be considered to be illustrative in all respects and not restrictive. In particular, in the embodiments disclosed herein, matters not explicitly stated, such as operating conditions or operation conditions, dimensions and weights of components, etc., do not deviate from the scope of ordinary practice of a person skilled in the art, and are matters that can be easily assumed by a person skilled in the art.
