Description

Electronic devices and methods of controlling electronic devices

[0001] The present disclosure relates to an electronic device and a method for controlling the electronic device, and more particularly, to an electronic device capable of transmitting information on sensing data acquired from a sensor to an external device and a method for controlling the same.

[0002] In recent years, with the advancement of devices like smartphones and smartwatches, the number of sensors incorporated into various electronic devices has skyrocketed. Furthermore, the rapid advancement of technologies related to the Internet of Things (IoT) is enhancing the connectivity and usability of IoT devices.

[0003] However, the types and number of sensors installed in each device that constitutes an IoT network are limited, and the types of sensors included in each device are also different, so research is ongoing on technologies that allow one device that constitutes an IoT network to smoothly and stably utilize the functions of sensors included in other devices.

[0004] However, conventional technologies are mainly focused on remote access through connections between devices, and even when they support access to the sensors themselves, this is limited to some sensors such as humidity sensors and temperature sensors.

[0005] Meanwhile, although there are prior art techniques related to utilizing the functions of sensors included in one device from another, it has been pointed out that the prior art has limitations in that it is difficult to access the sensors of one device from another in a seamless manner that improves overall function and security.

[0006] The present disclosure is intended to overcome the limitations of the prior art as described above, and an object of the present disclosure is to provide an electronic device and a control method thereof that can stably and exclusively transmit information about sensing data to an external device while protecting personal information through a secure channel.

[0007] According to one embodiment of the present disclosure for achieving the above-described object, an electronic device includes at least one sensor, a communication unit, a memory storing at least one instruction, and a processor executing the at least one instruction, wherein the processor, when an access request to a first type of sensor is received from an external device through the communication unit, identifies whether the at least one sensor includes the first type of sensor, and when it is identified that the at least one sensor includes the first type of sensor, performs authentication to allow the external device to access the first type of sensor, blocks other applications except for at least one application related to the external device accessing the first type of sensor among a plurality of applications of the electronic device and other devices except for the external device from accessing the first type of sensor, establishes a secure channel for communication with the external device using password information, and when sensing data is acquired through the first type of sensor, controls the communication unit to transmit information about the sensing data to the external device through the established secure channel.

[0008] Here, the information about the sensing data may include at least one of the sensing data, processing data about the sensing data, analysis results about the sensing data, and control information for performing an operation related to the sensing data.

[0009] Here, the processor can identify whether the sensing data includes personal information, and if the sensing data includes personal information, convert the sensing data so that it does not include the personal information to obtain processed data for the sensing data, and control the communication unit to transmit the processed data among the information for the sensing data to the external device through the established secure channel.

[0010] Meanwhile, the processor can control the communication unit to obtain an analysis result for the sensing data and transmit the analysis result among information about the sensing data to the external device through the established secure channel.

[0011] Here, the processor can obtain the control information based on the analysis result, and control the communication unit to transmit the control information among the information about the sensing data to the external device through the established secure channel.

[0012] Meanwhile, the processor receives the access request from a hub device for managing an IoT network including the electronic device and the external device through the communication unit, and receives information indicating that the at least one sensor includes the first type of sensor from the hub device through the communication unit, thereby identifying whether the at least one sensor includes the first type of sensor.

[0013] Meanwhile, the encryption information may include an asymmetric encryption for setting a session key related to the establishment of the secure channel and a symmetric block encryption for encrypting and decrypting information about the sensing data.

[0014] Meanwhile, if it is identified that the at least one sensor does not include the first type of sensor, the communication unit may be controlled to transmit a message indicating that the first type of sensor is not included in the electronic device to the external device.

[0015] Meanwhile, when a request for access to the first type of sensor is received from the other device after access to the first type of sensor is blocked, the communication unit can be controlled to transmit a message indicating that the request for access to the first type of sensor has been blocked to the other external device.

[0016] Meanwhile, the electronic device further includes an output unit, and controls the output unit to output a message indicating that the access request to the first type of sensor has been blocked when an access request to the first type of sensor is received from the other application after blocking access to the first type of sensor.

[0017] According to one embodiment of the present disclosure for achieving the above-described object, a control method of an electronic device includes the steps of: receiving an access request for a first type of sensor from an external device; identifying whether the at least one sensor includes the first type of sensor; performing authentication to allow the external device to access the first type of sensor when it is identified that the at least one sensor includes the first type of sensor; blocking other applications and other devices except for at least one application related to the external device accessing the first type of sensor among a plurality of applications of the electronic device from accessing the first type of sensor; establishing a secure channel for communication with the external device using password information; and when sensing data is acquired through the first type of sensor, transmitting information about the sensing data to the external device through the established secure channel.

[0018] Here, the information about the sensing data may include at least one of the sensing data, processing data about the sensing data, analysis results about the sensing data, and control information for performing an operation related to the sensing data.

[0019] Here, the control method of the electronic device may further include a step of identifying whether the sensing data includes personal information, a step of obtaining processed data for the sensing data by converting the sensing data so that it does not include the personal information if the sensing data includes personal information, and a step of transmitting the processed data among the information for the sensing data to the external device through the established secure channel.

[0020] Meanwhile, the control method of the electronic device may further include a step of obtaining an analysis result for the sensing data and a step of transmitting the analysis result among information about the sensing data to the external device through the established secure channel.

[0021] Here, the control method of the electronic device may further include a step of obtaining the control information based on the analysis result and a step of transmitting the control information among the information about the sensing data to the external device through the established secure channel.

[0022] Meanwhile, the step of receiving the access request may include the step of receiving the access request from a hub device for managing an IoT network including the electronic device and the external device, and the step of identifying whether the first type of sensor is included may further include the step of identifying whether the first type of sensor is included in the at least one sensor by receiving information indicating that the first type of sensor is included in the at least one sensor from the hub device.

[0023] Meanwhile, the encryption information may include an asymmetric encryption for setting a session key related to the establishment of the secure channel and a symmetric block encryption for encrypting and decrypting information about the sensing data.

[0024] Meanwhile, the control method of the electronic device may further include a step of transmitting a message indicating that the first type of sensor is not included in the electronic device to the external device when it is identified that the at least one sensor does not include the first type of sensor.

[0049]

[0050] FIG. 1 is a block diagram briefly illustrating a configuration of an electronic device (100) according to one or more embodiments of the present disclosure, and FIG. 2 is a flowchart briefly illustrating a control method of an electronic device (100) according to one or more embodiments of the present disclosure. Hereinafter, various embodiments of the present disclosure will be described with reference to FIG. 1 and FIG. 2 together.

[0051] An 'electronic device (100)' refers to a device capable of transmitting information about sensing data acquired from a sensor to an external device (200). Specifically, the electronic device (100) allows the external device (200) to access the sensor and transmits information about sensing data acquired from the sensor to the external device (200). For example, the electronic device (100) may be a device including a plurality of sensors, such as a smartphone or a smartwatch, but there is no particular limitation on the type of the electronic device (100).

[0052] An 'external device (200)' refers to a device capable of receiving information about sensing data from an electronic device (100). Specifically, the external device (200) can request access to a sensor not included in the external device (200) and receive information about sensing data from the electronic device (100). There are no particular restrictions on the type of the external device (200).

[0053] As illustrated in FIG. 1, an electronic device (100) according to an embodiment of the present disclosure includes at least one sensor (110), a communication unit (120), a memory (130), and a processor (140).

[0054] At least one sensor (110) can detect various information inside and outside the electronic device (100). Specifically, the sensor may include at least one of a Global Positioning System (GPS) sensor, a gyro sensor (gyroscope), an acceleration sensor (accelerometer), a lidar sensor, an inertial measurement unit (IMU), and a motion sensor. In addition, the sensor may include various types of sensors, such as a temperature sensor, a humidity sensor, an infrared sensor, a fingerprint sensor, an iris recognition sensor, a heart rate sensor, a blood pressure sensor, and the like. In addition, the at least one sensor (110) may include an image sensor (i.e., a camera) and a voice sensor (i.e., a microphone).

[0055] In particular, in one or more embodiments, the processor (140) may obtain sensing data through at least one sensor (110). For example, the processor (140) may obtain user fingerprint data through a fingerprint sensor, obtain motion data about user movement through a motion sensor, obtain image data through an image sensor, and obtain a voice signal corresponding to the user's voice through a voice sensor.

[0056] The communication unit (120) includes a circuit and can perform communication with an external device (200). Specifically, the processor (140) can receive various data or information from an external device (200) connected through the communication unit (120), and can also transmit various data or information to the external device (200).

[0057] The communication unit (120) may include at least one of a WiFi module, a Bluetooth module, a wireless communication module, an NFC module, and a UWB module (Ultra-Wide Band). Specifically, the WiFi module and the Bluetooth module may each perform communication in the WiFi or Bluetooth manner. When using a WiFi module or a Bluetooth module, various connection information, such as an SSID, may be first transmitted and received, and then communication may be established using this, after which various pieces of information may be transmitted and received.

[0058] In addition, the wireless communication module can perform communication according to various communication standards such as IEEE, Zigbee, 3G (3rd Generation), 3GPP (3rd Generation Partnership Project), LTE (Long Term Evolution), 5G (5th Generation), etc. And, the NFC module can perform communication in the NFC (Near Field Communication) method using the 13.56MHz band among various RF-ID frequency bands such as 135kHz, 13.56MHz, 433MHz, 860~960MHz, 2.45GHz, etc. In addition, the UWB module can accurately measure ToA (Time of Arrival), which is the time it takes for a pulse to reach a target, and AoA (Ange of Arrival), which is the pulse arrival angle at the transmitting device, through communication between UWB antennas, and accordingly, precise distance and location recognition is possible within an error range of several tens of centimeters indoors.

[0059] In particular, in one or more embodiments, the processor (140) may receive an access request for a first type of sensor from the external device (200) through the communication unit (120). The processor (140) may establish a secure channel (or secure tunnel) for communication with the external device (200) using password information through the communication unit (120). The processor (140) may control the communication unit (120) to transmit information about sensing data to the external device (200) through the established secure channel. The processor (140) may also control the communication unit (120) to transmit a message to the external device (200) indicating that the first type of sensor is not included in the electronic device (100). In addition, the communication unit (120) may transmit and receive various data, information, and signals through a communication connection between the electronic device (100) and the external device (200).

[0060] At least one instruction regarding the electronic device (100) may be stored in the memory (130). In addition, an O / S (Operating System) for driving the electronic device (100) may be stored in the memory (130). In addition, various software programs or applications for operating the electronic device (100) according to various embodiments of the present disclosure may be stored in the memory (130). In addition, the memory (130) may include a semiconductor memory such as a flash memory or a magnetic storage medium such as a hard disk.

[0061] Specifically, the memory (130) may store various software modules for operating the electronic device (100) according to various embodiments of the present disclosure, and the processor (140) may control the operation of the electronic device (100) by executing the various software modules stored in the memory (130). That is, the memory (130) is accessed by the processor (140), and data reading / recording / modifying / deleting / updating, etc. may be performed by the processor (140).

[0062] Meanwhile, in the present disclosure, the term memory (130) may be used to mean a memory (130), a ROM, a RAM in a processor (140), or a memory card (e.g., a micro SD card, a memory stick) mounted in an electronic device (100).

[0063] In particular, in one or more embodiments, the memory (130) may store various information, such as information about the type of each of at least one sensor (110), sensing data acquired through at least one sensor (110), information about the sensing data, password information for establishing a secure channel with an external device (200), etc.

[0064] In addition, various information necessary within the scope of achieving the purpose of the present disclosure may be stored in the memory (130), and the information stored in the memory (130) may be updated as received from an external device (200) or input by a user.

[0065] The processor (140) controls the overall operation of the electronic device (100). Specifically, the processor (140) is connected to the configuration of the electronic device (100) including at least one sensor (110), a communication unit (120), and a memory (130), and can control the overall operation of the electronic device (100) by executing at least one instruction stored in the memory (130) as described above.

[0066] The processor (140) may be implemented in various ways. For example, the processor (140) may be implemented as at least one of an application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC), an embedded processor, a microprocessor, hardware control logic, a hardware finite state machine (FSM), and a digital signal processor (DSP). Meanwhile, the term "processor" in the present disclosure may be used to mean a central processing unit (CPU), a graphic processing unit (GPU), and a microprocessor unit (MPU).

[0067] In particular, in one or more embodiments, the processor (140) may determine whether to allow an external device (200) to access a sensor included in the electronic device (100) and transmit information about the sensing data to the external device (200) via a secure channel. Hereinafter, various embodiments implemented through the processor (140) will be described in detail with reference to FIG. 2.

[0068] Referring to FIG. 2, the processor (140) can receive an access request for a first type sensor from an external device (200) via the communication unit (120) (S210). Here, the 'access request' refers to an access request for the first type sensor itself included in the electronic device (100), rather than an access request for the electronic device (100). In other words, the access request can be said to be a request for direct access to the function of the first type sensor included in the electronic device (100) from the external device (200).

[0069] An access request may be transmitted by the external device (200) based on the occurrence of an event for utilizing a first type of sensor in the external device (200). For example, if an event for utilizing a fingerprint sensor for the purpose of user authentication for payment occurs in an external device (200) that does not include a fingerprint sensor, the external device (200) may transmit an access request to the electronic device (100). Additionally, if an event for utilizing a motion sensor for the purpose of control according to a user's movement occurs in an external device (200) that does not include a motion sensor, the external device (200) may transmit an access request to the electronic device (100).

[0070] The term 'first type sensor' is used to refer to a specific type of device that an external device (200) wishes to access. For example, the first type sensor may refer to a sensor having a specific function, such as a 'motion sensor', a 'fingerprint sensor', a 'heartbeat sensor', etc., or may refer to a sensor having a specific operating principle and purpose, such as an 'accelerometer', a 'temperature sensor', etc., and further, among sensors having specific functions and purposes, a sensor having specific specifications may be specifically referred to.

[0071] The processor (140) may receive an access request for the first type of sensor directly from the external device (200) via the communication unit (120), or may receive the access request via the hub device (300). That is, when the external device (200) transmits an access request to the hub device (300), the hub device (300) may transmit the access request to the electronic device (100). Here, the 'hub device (300)' refers to a device for managing an IoT (Internet of Things) network including the electronic device (100) and the external device (200). A system including the hub device (300) will be described in detail with reference to FIG. 8.

[0072] When an access request for a first type of sensor is received, the processor (140) can identify whether at least one sensor (110) includes a sensor of the first type (S220). Specifically, the processor (140) can identify whether at least one sensor (110) includes a sensor of the first type based on information about the type of each of at least one sensor (110) stored in the memory (130).

[0073] The process of identifying whether at least one sensor (110) includes a first type of sensor may be performed by the electronic device (100), but may also be performed by the hub device (300). An embodiment in which the process of identifying whether at least one sensor (110) includes a first type of sensor is performed by the hub device (300) is described in detail with reference to FIG. 8.

[0074] If it is identified that at least one sensor (110) does not include a sensor of the first type (S220-N), the processor (140) may terminate the operation of the electronic device (100) and control the communication unit (120) to transmit a message indicating that the sensor of the first type is not included in the electronic device (100) to the external device (200).

[0075] If at least one sensor (110) is identified as including a sensor of the first type (S220-Y), the processor (140) may perform authentication to allow the external device (200) to access the sensor of the first type (S230).

[0076] Specifically, the processor (140) can control the communication unit (120) to transmit an authentication request to an external device (200). Here, the 'authentication request' refers to a request to confirm whether the external device (200) has the authority to access the sensor of the electronic device (100).

[0077] Upon receiving an authentication request, the external device (200) may display a user interface for receiving user input for the authentication request. The user may input a preset password through the user interface, or input user input in a manner similar to performing biometric authentication. Upon receiving the user input, the external device (200) may transmit a response to the authentication request to the electronic device (100), and authentication may be completed when the electronic device (100) receives a response to the authentication request from the external device (200).

[0078] Meanwhile, if authentication has already been performed on the external device (200), the external device (200) may transmit a response to the authentication request to the electronic device (100) without receiving additional user input.

[0079] The processor (140) can block other applications and other devices from accessing the first type of sensor (S240). Here, the term "other application" refers to an application among multiple applications of the electronic device (100) excluding at least one application related to the external device (200) accessing the first type of sensor. In addition, the term "other device" refers to a device other than the external device (200) that sent the access request to the first type of sensor.

[0080] That is, the processor (140) can block other applications and other devices except for the external device (200) from accessing the first type of sensor, except for at least one application among the multiple applications of the electronic device (100) related to the external device (200) accessing the first type of sensor.

[0081] 'Blocking' other applications and other devices from accessing the first type sensor is to ensure that information about sensed data is transmitted smoothly to the external device (200) through the first type sensor by allowing the external device (200) to have exclusive access to the first type sensor. Accordingly, in the present disclosure, the expression 'blocking' access to the first type sensor may be replaced with expressions such as 'partially disabling' or 'isolating' the first type sensor.

[0082] Meanwhile, when a request for access to the first type of sensor is received from another device after access to the first type of sensor is blocked, the processor (140) can control the communication unit (120) to transmit a message indicating that the request for access to the first type of sensor has been blocked to the other external device (200).

[0083] Meanwhile, blocking of access to other applications and other devices may be lifted based on receiving a request from the external device (200) to stop the external device (200) from accessing the first type of sensor, or receiving a user input to stop the external device (200) from accessing the first type of sensor.

[0084] The processor (140) can establish a secure channel for communication with an external device (200) using password information (S250). Specifically, the processor (140) can control the communication unit (120) to transmit a request for establishing a secure channel to the external device (200), and can establish a secure channel by receiving a response to the request for establishing a secure channel from the external device (200) via the communication unit (120).

[0085] Here, "cryptographic information" collectively refers to information about cryptography used in various types of encryption techniques for establishing a secure channel. Specifically, the cryptographic information may include asymmetric cryptography for establishing a session key related to establishing a secure channel and symmetric block ciphers for encrypting and decrypting information about sensing data.

[0086] For example, the cryptographic information may include information about a key used for symmetric key encryption, information about a public key and a private key used for public key encryption, block encryption information used for AES (advanced encryption standard), which is a type of symmetric key encryption, digital certificates used for ECDH (elliptic curve diffie-Hellman) / PKI (public key infrastructure), which is a type of public key encryption, and information about a certification authority.

[0087] Once a secure channel is established, the processor (140) can encrypt data through the secure channel and transmit it to an external device (200), and the external device (200) that receives the encrypted data can decrypt the encrypted data.

[0088] The processor (140) can acquire sensing data through a first type of sensor (S260). In addition, the processor (140) can control the communication unit (120) to transmit information about the sensing data to an external device (200) through an established secure channel (S270). Specifically, the processor (140) can acquire sensing data through the first type of sensor after establishing the secure channel, and can also periodically acquire sensing data for a certain period of time before establishing the secure channel and transmit information about the sensing data to the external device (200) after establishing the secure channel.

[0089] In the present disclosure, the term "information about sensing data" is used as a general term to refer to various pieces of information related to sensing data. That is, the term "information about sensing data" encompasses the sensing data itself, i.e., raw data, but is also used in a broader sense. Specifically, the information about sensing data may include at least one of the sensing data, processed data about the sensing data, analysis results about the sensing data, and control information for performing operations related to the sensing data.

[0090] Whether the electronic device (100) acquires and transmits to the external device (200) which information about the sensing data may vary depending on the embodiment. Specifically, when the sensing data is acquired through the first type of sensor, the processor (140) may control the communication unit (120) to transmit the sensing data itself to the external device (200), or may control the communication unit (120) to acquire and transmit to the external device (200) at least one of processing data for the sensing data, analysis results for the sensing data, and control information for performing an operation related to the sensing data. Various embodiments related to methods for acquiring and transmitting information about the sensing data will be described in detail with reference to FIGS. 3 to 6.

[0091] According to the embodiment described above with reference to FIGS. 1 and 2, the electronic device (100) can determine whether to allow an external device (200) to access a sensor included in the electronic device (100), and can reliably and exclusively transmit information about sensing data to the external device (200) while protecting personal information through a secure channel.

[0092] Accordingly, the usability and stability of sensor function sharing among devices forming an IoT network are expanded, providing a more robust IoT ecosystem. Specifically, by enabling a single device to seamlessly utilize multiple sensors contained in other devices simultaneously, new options for use in IoT networks are provided, and the user experience can be significantly improved. Furthermore, according to the present disclosure, the number of sensors installed in IoT devices can be reduced, contributing to the weight reduction and design simplification of IoT devices.

[0093]

[0094] FIG. 3 is a flowchart illustrating various embodiments related to a method for acquiring and transmitting information about sensing data, FIG. 4 is a diagram illustrating an embodiment for transmitting sensing data itself, FIG. 5 is a diagram illustrating an embodiment for transmitting analysis results for sensing data, and FIG. 6 is a diagram illustrating an embodiment for transmitting processed data for sensing data. Hereinafter, various embodiments according to the present disclosure will be described with reference to FIGS. 3 to 6 together.

[0095] As described above with reference to FIG. 2, the processor (140) can acquire sensing data through the first type of sensor (S260) and transmit information about the sensing data to an external device (200) through an established secure channel (S270). Hereinafter, various embodiments related to acquiring information about the sensing data will be described. A description of the process until a secure channel is established between the electronic device (100) and the external device (200) after an access request is received has been described above with reference to FIG. 2, and therefore, will be omitted in the description of FIGS. 3 to 6.

[0096] Referring to FIG. 3, when sensing data is acquired through a first type of sensor (S310), the processor (140) can identify whether the sensing data contains personal information (S320). Specifically, the processor (140) can identify whether the sensing data acquired through the first type of sensor contains personal information based on information about the type of the first type of sensor.

[0097] For example, if the first type of sensor is likely to include personal information related to privacy in the sensing data acquired through the sensor, the processor (140) can identify that the sensing data acquired through the first type of sensor includes personal information.

[0098] If it is determined that the sensing data does not contain personal information (S315-N), the processor (140) can transmit the sensing data to the external device (200) via a secure channel (S320). On the other hand, if it is determined that the sensing data contains personal information (S315-Y), the processor (140) can identify whether the sensing data is a target for acquiring processed data (S325). Specifically, the processor (140) can identify whether the sensing data acquired through the first type of sensor is a target for acquiring processed data based on information about the type of the first type of sensor.

[0099] If the sensing data is identified as a target for acquiring processed data (S325-Y), the processor (140) can acquire processed data for the sensing data (S330). Then, the processor (140) can transmit the processed data to an external device (200) through a secure channel (S335).

[0100] Specifically, the processor (140) can obtain processed data for the sensing data by converting the sensing data so that it does not contain personal information. Once the processed data is obtained through the conversion, the processor (140) can control the communication unit (120) to transmit only the processed data among the information about the sensing data to an external device (200) through an established secure channel.

[0101] In the example of FIG. 4, the electronic device (100) is an artificial intelligence speaker including a voice sensor (40) (i.e., a microphone), and the external device (200) is a TV. Referring to the example of FIG. 4, an event for recognizing a user's location may occur in the external device (200) (S410). Based on the occurrence of the event for recognizing the user's location, the external device (200) may transmit an access request to the voice sensor (40) of the electronic device (100) to the electronic device (100) (S420).

[0102] The processor (140) can obtain voice data corresponding to the user's voice, which is a type of sensing data, through the voice sensor (40) (S430). Once the voice data is obtained, the processor (140) can convert (or preprocess) the voice data so that it does not contain personal information, thereby obtaining data on the volume level of the user's voice, which is a type of processed data (S440). Once the data on the volume level is obtained, the processor (140) can control the communication unit (120) to transmit the data on the volume level to an external device (200) via a secure channel (S450).

[0103] Accordingly, the electronic device (100) can protect the user's personal information by transmitting data about the volume size with the personal information removed instead of transmitting the voice data itself corresponding to the user's voice with a high level of personal information protection to the external device (200), and the external device (200) can use the data about the volume size to recognize the user's location.

[0104] If the sensing data is identified as not being a target for acquisition of processed data (S325-N), the processor (140) can identify whether the sensing data is a target for acquisition of analysis results (S340). Specifically, the processor (140) can identify whether the sensing data acquired through the first type of sensor is a target for acquisition of analysis results based on information about the type of the first type of sensor.

[0105] If the sensing data is identified as a target for acquisition of analysis results (S340-Y), the processor (140) can acquire analysis results for the sensing data (S345). In addition, the processor (140) can identify whether the sensing data is a target for acquisition of control information (S350).

[0106] Specifically, when sensing data is identified as a target for obtaining analysis results, the processor (140) can perform a predefined type of analysis on the sensing data to obtain analysis results.

[0107] Whether or not to perform any analysis on the sensing data can be predefined based on the type of sensor or the type of sensing data. For example, if the sensing data is fingerprint data, the analysis result may be an analysis result on whether the fingerprint data acquired through the fingerprint sensor (50) matches the previously registered fingerprint data, and if the sensing data is blood pressure data, the analysis result may be an analysis result on whether the blood pressure data acquired through the blood pressure sensor falls within a predefined blood pressure range.

[0108] When the analysis result is obtained, the processor (140) can identify whether the sensing data obtained through the first type of sensor is a target for obtaining control information based on information about the type of the first type of sensor.

[0109] If the sensing data is identified as not being a target for control information acquisition (S350-N), the processor (140) can transmit the analysis results to the external device (200) via a secure channel (S350). In other words, if the sensing data is a target for analysis result acquisition but not a target for control information acquisition, the processor (140) can control the communication unit (120) to transmit only the analysis results among the information about the sensing data to the external device (200) via the established secure channel.

[0110] In the example of FIG. 5, the electronic device (100) is a smartphone including a fingerprint sensor (50), and the external device (200) is a TV. Referring to the example of FIG. 5, a payment event for content purchase may occur in the external device (200) (S510). Based on the occurrence of the payment event, the external device (200) may transmit an access request to the fingerprint sensor (50) of the electronic device (100) to the electronic device (100) (S520).

[0111] The processor (140) can acquire the user's fingerprint data, which is a type of sensing data, through the fingerprint sensor (50) (S530). Once the fingerprint data is acquired, the processor (140) can acquire a fingerprint recognition result, which is a type of analysis result, by identifying whether the fingerprint data acquired through the fingerprint sensor (50) matches pre-registered fingerprint data (S540). Once the fingerprint recognition result is acquired, the processor (140) can control the communication unit (120) to transmit the fingerprint recognition result to an external device (200) through a secure channel (S550).

[0112] Accordingly, the electronic device (100) can protect the user's personal information by transmitting only the analysis results of the fingerprint data without transmitting the user's fingerprint data itself, which has a high level of personal information protection, to the external device (200), and the external device (200) can use the analysis results of the fingerprint data for payment for purchasing content.

[0113] Meanwhile, if the sensing data is identified as a target for control information acquisition (S355-Y), the processor (140) can acquire control information about the sensing data (S360). Then, the processor (140) can transmit the control information to an external device (200) through a secure channel (S365).

[0114] Specifically, if sensing data is identified as a target for obtaining control information, the processor (140) can obtain control information based on the analysis results for the sensing data.

[0115] Whether to acquire any control information based on the analysis results may be predefined according to the type of sensor or the type of sensing data. For example, if an analysis result indicating that fingerprint data acquired through a fingerprint sensor (50) matches pre-registered fingerprint data is obtained, the processor (140) may acquire control information requesting completion of user authentication. Furthermore, if an analysis result indicating that blood pressure data acquired through a blood pressure sensor falls within a pre-defined blood pressure range is obtained, the processor (140) may acquire control information for outputting a warning message regarding high blood pressure to the user.

[0116] When control information is acquired, the processor (140) can control the communication unit (120) to transmit only the control information among the information about the sensing data to the external device (200) through the secure channel, and can also control the communication unit (120) to transmit only the information analysis result about the sensing data and the control information to the external device (200) through the secure channel.

[0117] In the example of FIG. 6, the electronic device (100) is a smartwatch including a motion sensor (60), and the external device (200) is a TV. Referring to the example of FIG. 6, an event related to image motion control may occur in the external device (200) (S610). Based on the occurrence of the event related to image motion control, the external device (200) may transmit an access request to the motion sensor (60) of the electronic device (100) to the electronic device (100) (S620). Here, the 'event related to image motion control' may be an event for controlling an image displayed on the external device (200) according to the user's motion (or movement), such as rotating and displaying a 360-degree video according to the user's motion.

[0118] The processor (140) can acquire motion data representing the user's movements, a type of sensing data, through the motion sensor (60) (S630). Once the motion data is acquired, the processor (140) can control the communication unit (120) to transmit the motion data to an external device (200) via a secure channel (S640).

[0119] Accordingly, when motion data of a user whose personal information protection level is not high is acquired, the electronic device (100) can quickly transmit the motion data itself to an external device (200) without acquiring processing data, analysis results, or control information for the motion data, and the external device (200) can perform video motion control in real time based on the motion data.

[0120] Meanwhile, in FIGS. 4 to 6, an embodiment in which an external device (200) accesses a first type of sensor included in an electronic device (100) but is not included in the external device (200) has been described, but depending on the embodiment, even when the external device (200) includes a first type of sensor, it is also possible to access a first type of sensor included in the electronic device (100) in order to utilize two or more sensors of the same type.

[0121] Meanwhile, the embodiments described above with reference to FIGS. 3 to 6 are merely exemplary, and the steps of FIGS. 3 to 6 may be performed in different orders, and the steps may be combined in different ways. For example, the electronic device (100) may obtain analysis results and control information for the sensing data even when the sensing data is a target for acquiring processing data. In addition, although the embodiments of FIGS. 3 to 6 describe an embodiment in which the electronic device (100) selectively transmits one of the sensing data, the processing data, the analysis result, and the control information to the external device (200), it is to be understood that the electronic device (100) may transmit one or more of the sensing data, the processing data, the analysis result, and the control information to the external device (200).

[0122] According to the above-described embodiment with reference to FIGS. 3 to 6, the electronic device (100) can transmit information suitable for the type of sensing data to an external device while protecting personal information included in the sensing data based on information about the type of the first type of sensor.

[0123]

[0124] FIG. 7 is a block diagram detailing the configuration of an electronic device (100) according to one or more embodiments of the present disclosure.

[0125] As illustrated in FIG. 7, an electronic device (100) according to an embodiment of the present disclosure may further include at least one sensor (110), a communication unit (120), a memory (130), and a processor (140), as well as an input unit (150) and an output unit (160). However, the configurations illustrated in FIGS. 1 and 7 are merely exemplary, and it is to be understood that new configurations may be added or some configurations may be omitted in addition to the configurations illustrated in FIGS. 1 and 7 when implementing the present disclosure.

[0126] The input unit (150) includes a circuit, and the processor (140) can receive a user command to control the operation of the electronic device (100) through the input unit (150). Specifically, the input unit (150) can be configured with components such as a microphone, a camera, and a remote control signal receiving unit. In addition, the input unit (150) can also be implemented in a form included in a display as a touch screen. In particular, the microphone can receive a voice signal and convert the received voice signal into an electrical signal.

[0127] In particular, in one or more embodiments, the processor (140) may receive a user input via the input unit (150) for selecting one or more sensors from among the at least one sensor (110) to which the external device (200) is to be allowed access. The processor (140) may receive a user input via the input unit (150) for stopping the external device (200) from accessing the first type of sensor. In addition, a user input for initiating, stopping, or terminating an operation according to the present disclosure may be received via the input unit (150).

[0128] The output unit (160) includes a circuit, and the processor (140) can output various functions that the electronic device (100) can perform through the output unit (160). In addition, the output unit (160) can include at least one of a display, a speaker, and an indicator.

[0129] The display can output image data under the control of the processor (140). Specifically, the display can output an image previously stored in the memory (130) under the control of the processor (140).

[0130] In particular, a display according to an embodiment of the present disclosure may display a user interface stored in a memory (130). The display may be implemented as a liquid crystal display panel (LCD), organic light emitting diodes (OLED), etc., and in some cases, the display may also be implemented as a flexible display, a transparent display, etc. However, the display according to the present disclosure is not limited to a specific type.

[0131] The speaker can output audio data under the control of the processor (140), and the indicator can be turned on under the control of the processor (140).

[0132] In particular, in one or more embodiments, the processor (140) may control the output unit (160) to output a message indicating that authentication has been completed to allow the external device (200) to access the first type of sensor, and a message indicating that the external device (200) has stopped accessing the first type of sensor.

[0133] Additionally, when a request for access to the first type of sensor is received from another application after access to the first type of sensor is blocked, the processor (140) can control the output unit (160) to output a message indicating that the request for access to the first type of sensor has been blocked.

[0134]

[0135] FIG. 8 is a sequence diagram for explaining an embodiment related to identifying a sensor through a hub device (300).

[0136] The above has described various embodiments according to the present disclosure implemented through a system including an electronic device (100) and an external device (200). However, the present disclosure is not limited thereto, and a system according to the present disclosure may further include a hub device (300) in addition to the electronic device (100) and the external device (200).

[0137] Here, the 'hub device (300)' refers to a device for managing an IoT (Internet of Things) network including an electronic device (100) and an external device (200). The electronic device (100) and the external device (200) may be devices registered as devices constituting an IoT network, and the hub device (300) may serve as a central point that enables devices registered in the IoT network including the electronic device (100) and the external device (200) to interact while exchanging data. For example, the hub device (300) may perform various roles such as collecting and transmitting data, monitoring and controlling devices registered in the IoT network, data preprocessing, warnings, and notifications.

[0138] Referring to FIG. 8, the hub device (300) can store information about multiple sensors included in multiple devices constituting an IoT network (S810). Here, "information about multiple sensors" may include information about the types of multiple sensors included in multiple devices constituting an IoT network and identification information of each device including the multiple sensors.

[0139] An external device (200) can transmit a search request for a first type of sensor to a hub device (300) (S815). When the search request is received, the hub device (300) can identify a first type of sensor among a plurality of sensors (S820).

[0140] Specifically, when a search request for a first type of sensor is received from an external device (200), the hub device (300) can identify the first type of sensor among the plurality of sensors based on information about the plurality of sensors, and can identify an electronic device (100) that includes the first type of sensor among the plurality of devices. In other words, the hub device (300) can perform a role of enumerating and selecting a plurality of sensors within an IoT network.

[0141] When the first type of sensor and the electronic device (100) are identified, the hub device (300) can transmit an access request and identification result for the first type of sensor to the electronic device (100) (S830), and the hub device (300) can also transmit the identification result to the external device (200) (S825).

[0142] Specifically, when the first type of sensor and the electronic device (100) are identified, the hub device (300) can transmit an access request for the first type of sensor and an identification result for the first type of sensor to the electronic device (100). Accordingly, the processor (140) can receive information on whether the first type of sensor is included among at least one sensor (110) from the hub device (300) through the communication unit (120), thereby identifying whether the first type of sensor is included among the at least one sensor (110).

[0143] When the identification result is received from the hub device (300), the external device (200) can transmit a pairing request to the electronic device (100) (S835), and the electronic device (100) can transmit a response to the pairing request to the external device (200) (S840). Accordingly, pairing can be completed between the electronic device (100) and the external device (200).

[0144] The electronic device (100) can transmit an authentication request to the external device (200) (S845), and the external device (200) can transmit a response to the authentication request to the electronic device (100) (S850). Specifically, when the authentication request is received, the external device (200) can display a user interface for receiving a user input for the authentication request. Then, the user can input a preset password through the user interface or input user input in the same manner as performing biometric authentication. When the user input is received, the external device (200) can transmit a response to the authentication request to the electronic device (100), and when the electronic device (100) receives a response to the authentication request from the external device (200), authentication can be completed.

[0145] Meanwhile, if authentication has already been performed on the external device (200), the external device (200) may transmit a response to the authentication request to the electronic device (100) without receiving additional user input.

[0146] Once authentication is complete, the electronic device (100) can block other applications and other devices from accessing the first type of sensor (S855). Specifically, the electronic device (100) can block other applications and other devices other than the external device (200) from accessing the first type of sensor, except for at least one application among the multiple applications of the electronic device (100) that is related to the external device (200) accessing the first type of sensor.

[0147] Blocking other applications and other devices from accessing the first type sensor is to ensure that information about sensing data is transmitted smoothly to the external device (200) through the first type sensor by allowing the external device (200) to have exclusive access to the first type sensor.

[0148] After other applications and other devices are blocked from accessing the first type of sensor, the electronic device (100) may transmit a request to establish a secure channel to the external device (200) (S860), and the external device (200) may transmit a response to the request to establish a secure channel (S865). Accordingly, a secure channel may be established.

[0149] Specifically, the cryptographic information may include an asymmetric cipher for establishing a session key involved in establishing a secure channel and a symmetric block cipher for encrypting and decrypting information about sensing data.

[0150] The electronic device (100) can acquire sensing data (S870) and information about the sensing data (S870). Furthermore, the electronic device (100) can transmit information about the sensing data (S875). Here, the information about the sensing data can include at least one of the sensing data, processing data about the sensing data, analysis results about the sensing data, and control information for performing operations related to the sensing data.

[0151] The electronic device (100) can obtain sensing data through a first type of sensor, and can obtain information about the sensing data based on information about the type of the first type of sensor.

[0152] When sensing data is acquired through the first type of sensor, the processor (140) may control the communication unit (120) to transmit the sensing data itself to the external device (200), or control the communication unit (120) to acquire at least one of processing data for the sensing data, analysis results for the sensing data, and control information for performing an operation related to the sensing data and transmit the acquired data to the external device (200).

[0153] In addition to the operations described above, the hub device (300) can perform various operations, such as transmitting and receiving data between the electronic device (100) and the external device (200), or mediating and transmitting requests and responses for communication between the electronic device (100) and the external device (200).

[0154]

[0155] Meanwhile, the control method of the electronic device (100) according to the above-described embodiment may be implemented as a program and provided to the electronic device (100). In particular, the program including the control method of the electronic device (100) may be stored and provided in a non-transitory computer readable medium.

[0156] Specifically, in a non-transitory computer-readable recording medium including a program for executing a method for controlling an electronic device (100), the method for controlling an electronic device (100) may include the steps of: receiving a request for access to a first type of sensor from an external device (200); identifying whether at least one sensor (110) includes a first type of sensor; performing authentication to allow the external device (200) to access the first type of sensor when it is identified that at least one sensor (110) includes a first type of sensor; blocking other applications and other devices except for at least one application among a plurality of applications of the electronic device (100) related to the external device (200) accessing the first type of sensor from accessing the first type of sensor; establishing a secure channel for communication with the external device (200) using password information; and, when sensing data is acquired through the first type of sensor, transmitting information about the sensing data to the external device (200) through the established secure channel.

[0157] In the above, a method for controlling an electronic device (100) and a computer-readable recording medium including a program for executing the method for controlling an electronic device (100) have been briefly described, but this is only to omit redundant descriptions, and it goes without saying that various embodiments of the electronic device (100) can also be applied to a method for controlling an electronic device (100) and a computer-readable recording medium including a program for executing the method for controlling an electronic device (100).

[0158] A device-readable storage medium may be provided in the form of a non-transitory storage medium. Here, the term "non-transitory storage medium" simply means a tangible device that does not contain signals (e.g., electromagnetic waves). This term does not distinguish between cases where data is permanently stored in the storage medium and cases where data is temporarily stored. For example, a "non-transitory storage medium" may include a buffer in which data is temporarily stored.

[0159] According to one embodiment, the method according to various embodiments disclosed in the present document may be provided as a computer program product. The computer program product may be traded between sellers and buyers as a product. The computer program product may be distributed in the form of a device-readable storage medium (e.g., compact disc read-only memory (CD-ROM)) or may be provided through an application store (e.g., Play Store). TM ) or directly between two user devices (e.g., smartphones), online distribution (e.g., downloading or uploading). In the case of online distribution, at least a portion of the computer program product (e.g., downloadable app) may be at least temporarily stored or temporarily created in a device-readable storage medium, such as a manufacturer's server, an application store's server, or a memory (130) of an intermediary server.

[0160] Each of the components (e.g., modules or programs) according to the various embodiments of the present disclosure as described above may be composed of a single or multiple entities, and some of the sub-components described above may be omitted, or other sub-components may be further included in the various embodiments. Alternatively or additionally, some components (e.g., modules or programs) may be integrated into a single entity, which may perform the same or similar functions as those performed by each of the respective components prior to integration.

[0161] According to various embodiments, operations performed by a module, program or other component may be executed sequentially, in parallel, iteratively or heuristically, or at least some operations may be executed in a different order, omitted, or other operations may be added.

[0162] Meanwhile, the terms "part" or "module" used in the present disclosure include units composed of hardware, software, or firmware, and may be used interchangeably with terms such as logic, logic block, component, or circuit. A "part" or "module" may be an integrally composed component, a minimum unit performing one or more functions, or a portion thereof. For example, a module may be composed of an application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC).

[0163] Various embodiments of the present disclosure may be implemented as software including instructions stored in a machine-readable storage medium that can be read by a machine (e.g., a computer). The device may include an electronic device (e.g., an electronic device (100)) according to the disclosed embodiments, which is a device capable of calling instructions stored in the storage medium and operating according to the called instructions.

[0164] When the above instruction is executed by the processor, the processor may perform the function corresponding to the instruction directly or by using other components under the control of the processor. The instruction may include code generated or executed by a compiler or interpreter.
