AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

The ultrasonic welding process used to connect the spout flange to the container body can cause vibration waves to crack the spout membrane, leading to seal destruction. Additionally, differences in material properties between the spout and the container body complicate the welding process and increase the risk of membrane cracking.

Method used

The spout incorporates an energy blocking structure, such as a groove or a step, to divert or attenuate the vibration waves from the ultrasonic welding, thereby reducing the risk of membrane cracking. This structure is designed to guide the vibration waves away from the membrane, ensuring better sealing performance and improved welding quality.

Benefits of technology

The energy blocking structure effectively reduces the risk of membrane cracking during ultrasonic welding, ensuring reliable sealing and allowing for increased energy application or longer welding times without compromising the integrity of the spout.

Description

SPOUT FOR CONTAINER, SPOUT ASSEMBLY AND SPOUT APPLYING MECHANISMFIELD

[0001] The present application relates to a spout for a container (for example, a package for hermetically containing milk, juice or the like) , a spout assembly including the spout and a spout applying mechanism for the spout.BACKGROUND

[0002] The content in this section only provides background information related to the present application, which is not necessarily the prior art.

[0003] A container for containing or storing substances generally includes a box-shaped container body (for example, a semi-finished carton) and a spout connected to the container body. The container body defines an inner space for containing or storing substances and usually has a composite structure formed of multiple layers of different materials. The spout is configured to provide access to the inner space of the container body so as to inject / discharge substances into / out of the container. The spout is hermetically connected to the container body (specifically, one of the outmost layers of the container body) by ultrasonic welding to form the container.

[0004] Generally, the spout is integrally formed by injection molding and includes: a flange configured to be ultrasonically welded to the container body; a membrane for primary seal of the container; and a spout body from which the flange and the membrane extend outwardly and inwardly respectively and configured to be engaged with a cap to achieve a secondary seal of the container.SUMMARY

[0005] Technical Problems

[0006] When the flange of the spout is welded to the container body by ultrasonic, vibration wave is generated by ultrasonic welding and transmitted to the membrane of the spout, resulting in crack of the membrane, and thus destroying seal of a container.

[0007] If the spout (specifically, the flange of the spout) and the container body (specifically, the outer layer to be welded of the container body) are made of different materials, e.g., having different melting points or degrees of crystallinity, it may be difficult in ultrasonic welding. For example, the outer layer to be welded of the container body is usually made of low-density polyethylene (LDPE) material, and the spout is usually made of high-density polyethylene (HDPE) material. In order to improve the welding quality, for example, the applied energy or welding time of the ultrasonic welding may be increased, and thus the risk of crack of the membrane may be increased.

[0008] The membrane of the spout may be cut and opened by means of a cutter. As mentioned above, the spout is usually made of the high-density polyethylene (HDPE) material which is harder than the low-density polyethylene (LDPE) material and thus facilitates cutting of the membrane. In other words, it is undesired to use soft material such as LDPE to form the spout, since it is not conducive to the cutting of the membrane. Up to now, there has been no discovery, attention or research on the possible negative effect or damage of the ultrasonic welding on or to the membrane of such spouts.

[0009] An object of the present application is to provide a spout with a membrane which can reduce a risk of crack of the membrane while improving the quality of the ultrasonic welding.

[0010] Another object of the present application is to provide a spout which has a membrane easily cut and opened by means of a cutter and which can reduce the risk of crack of the membrane while improving the quality of the ultrasonic welding.

[0011] Technical Solutions

[0012] The inventors of the present application propose a concept or idea of preventing, interrupting or reducing transmission of the vibration wave of the ultrasonic welding to the membrane by simple modifications on a structure of the spout. The inventors of the present application further propose a concept or idea of preventing, interrupting, or reducing transmission of the vibration wave of the ultrasonic welding to the membrane by guiding it to a part of the spout other than the membrane (for example, the spout body) .

[0013] According to an aspect of the present application, there is provided a spout for a container, including: a spout body adapted to be engaged with a cap; a flange extending outwardly in a radial direction from the spout body and configured to be connected with a  body of the container by ultrasonic welding; a membrane arranged inside the spout body for sealing the body of the container; and an energy blocking structure configured to interrupt or decrease transmission of vibration wave of the ultrasonic welding to the membrane.

[0019] In some embodiments, the energy blocking structure is arranged at junction of the spout body and the flange.

[0020] In some embodiments, the energy blocking structure includes a groove located radially outside of the membrane.

[0021] In some embodiments, the groove has a triangular cross-section and includes two inner surfaces between which an acute angle is defined and directed towards an engaged portion of the spout body to be engaged with the cap so as to guide the vibration wave to transmit towards the engaged portion.

[0022] In some embodiments, the acute angle is ranged from 20 to 60 degrees.

[0023] In some embodiments, the acute angle is ranged from 30 to 40 degrees.

[0024] In some embodiments, one of the two inner surfaces of the groove is substantially perpendicular to the flange.

[0025] In some embodiments, the groove has an isosceles triangular cross-section.

[0026] In some embodiments, the groove has a maximum depth being 1 to 10 times a mean thickness of the weaken portion of the membrane.

[0027] In some embodiments, the maximum depth of the groove is 3 to 5 times the mean thickness of the weaken portion of the membrane.

[0028] In some embodiments, the groove has a maximum depth ranging from 0.2 to 2 mm.

[0029] In some embodiments, the maximum depth of the groove is ranged from 0.6 to 1 mm.

[0030] In some embodiments, the groove has an opening width no smaller than 0.2 mm.

[0031] In some embodiments, the groove is annular and arranged concentrically with respect to a cut portion of the membrane.

[0032] In some embodiments, the energy blocking structure includes a step provided between the membrane and the flange.

[0033] In some embodiments, the step is configured such that the flange and the membrane are located at different levels with a predetermined spacing.

[0034] In some embodiments, the predetermined spacing is ranged from 0.5 to 6 mm.

[0035] In some embodiments, the predetermined spacing is 1 to 12 times a thickness of the flange.

[0036] In some embodiments, the spout body includes a cylindrical wall. The flange extends from an outer circumferential surface of the cylindrical wall outwardly in a radial direction and the membrane extends from an inner circumferential surface of the cylindrical wall inwardly in the radial direction, so that the portion of the cylindrical wall between the flange and the membrane forms the step.

[0037] According to another aspect of the present application, there is provided a spout assembly including the spout as described above and a cap engaged with the spout.

[0038] According to yet another aspect of the present application, there is provided a spout applying mechanism for the spout or the spout assembly described above. The spout applying mechanism includes an anvil configured to hold the spout and having an energy concentration structure for improving energy distribution during welding.

[0039] In some embodiments, the energy concentration structure includes a protrusion configured to abut against the flange for welding.

[0040] In some embodiments, the protrusion has a flat surface for abutting against the flange.

[0041] In some embodiments, the energy concentration structure further includes at least one groove provided in the protrusion.

[0042] In some embodiments, the at least one groove or the flat surface of the protrusion is positioned to correspond to an energy transmission ring provided on the flange.

[0043] In some embodiments, the at least one groove has a triangular or trapezoidal cross-section.

[0044] Technical Effects

[0045] The spout according to the present application has an energy blocking structure. The transmission of the vibration wave of the ultrasonic welding to the membrane may be interrupted or decreased by the energy blocking structure. In this way, the risk of crack of the membrane of the spout can be significantly reduced, thereby ensuring good sealing performance of the container. Due to provision of the energy blocking structure, the applied energy or welding time of the ultrasonic welding can be increased, thus ensuring the reliability or quality of the welding.

[0046] The spout according to the present application further has a cutter for cutting the membrane, and the cutter can cut the membrane while rotating to realize one step opening, which means destroying two sealing (primary and secondary sealing) structures by one action. Compared with a pull ring in which a finger of a user needs to be inserted, the cutter needs less operating space and can be operated in an easier way.

[0047] The foregoing and other objects, features and advantages of the present application will be more fully understood in combination with the detailed description given hereinafter and the drawings, which are given by way of illustration only and are not therefore considered as limitation to the present application.BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

[0060] DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE EMBODIMENTS

[0061] Hereinafter, the present application is described in detail through exemplary embodiments with reference to the accompanying drawings. In several drawings, similar reference numerals refer to similar parts and components. The following detailed description of the present application is for purposes of illustration only and is in no way limiting of the  present application, its application or uses. The implementations described in this specification are not exhaustive and are merely some of many possible implementations. Exemplary embodiments may be embodied in many different forms and should not be construed as limiting the scope of the present application. In some example embodiments, well-known processes, well-known device structures, and well-known technologies may not be described in detail.

[0062] Before describing in detail at least one embodiment of the present application, it is to be understood that the present application is not necessarily limited in its application to the details of construction and the arrangement of components set forth in the following description or illustrated in the accompanying drawings. The present application is applicable to other embodiments and combinations of the disclosed embodiments that may be practiced or carried out in various ways. In addition, it is to be understood that the phraseology and terminology employed herein is for the purpose of description and should not be regarded as limiting.

[0063] For the sake of clarity, parameters mentioned in the some present application are defined as follows.

[0064] "Depth of the groove" refers to the depth of the groove measured in a direction perpendicular to an extension direction of a flange.

[0065] "Opening width of the groove" refers to the width of an opening of the groove on a surface where the groove is formed.

[0066] "Thickness of the weaken portion of the membrane" refers to the thickness of the weaken portion of the membrane measured in a direction perpendicular to an extension direction of the membrane.

[0067] "Thickness of the flange" refers to the thickness of the flange measured in the direction perpendicular to its extension direction. In a case that the flange is provided with a structure such as a groove or an energy transmission ring (ETR) , "thickness of the flange" does not include the thickness at the groove or the energy transmission ring. In other words, "thickness of the flange" refers to the thickness of a main body of the flange.

[0068] "The extension direction of the flange" refers to a direction in which the flange extends from the spout body.

[0069] "The extension direction of the membrane" refers to a direction in which the membrane extends from the spout body.

[0070] Generally, the extension direction of the flange and the membrane is approximately perpendicular to a central axial axis of the cylindrical spout body, and thus also may be call “aradial direction” .

[0071] Hereinafter, a spout according to a first embodiment of the present application will be described with reference to FIGS. 1 and 2. FIG. 1 is a schematic sectional view of a spout 10 according to a first embodiment of the present application, and FIG. 2 is a partially-enlarged schematic view of part A of the spout shown in FIG. 1.

[0072] As shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, the spout 10 includes a spout body 11, a flange 13, a membrane 15 and an energy blocking structure 17.

[0073] The spout body 11 is configured to support the flange 13 and the membrane 15 and can be connected to a cap (e.g., the cap 3 shown in FIG. 7) . The flange 13 extends outwardly in a radial direction from the spout body 11, and the membrane 15 extends inwardly in the radial direction from the spout body 11.

[0074] The spout body 11 has a hollow cylindrical wall 112. The cylindrical wall 112 may have a common circular cross-section, which facilitates processing and operating. The cylindrical wall 112 may have an engaged portion 114 to be engaged with the cap. A threaded portion 116 for engaging with the cap may be provided on the engaged portion 114.

[0075] It should be understood that the shape, structure, size or the like of the spout body should not be limited to the specific examples shown in the drawings, but may be varied as required.

[0076] The flange 13 is arranged outside the spout body 11 and is configured to be connected or bonded to a container body (e.g., the container body 6 as shown in FIG. 8) to form a container. In the present application, the flange 13 is connected or bonded to the container body by ultrasonic welding, which transmits a high-frequency vibration wave to contact surfaces (also called welding surfaces) of the flange and the container body, so that the welding surfaces of the flange and the container body rub against each other to form fusion between molecular layers.

[0077] The flange 13 has a welding part 132. The welding part 132 is fused to the container  body during the ultrasonic welding, thereby achieving a sealed joint. The spout 10 is particularly applied to the container for hermetically holding substances, especially, liquids (such as milk, soybean milk, fruit juice or the like) . The welding part 132 is generally arranged near an outer periphery edge 134 of the flange 13.

[0078] In the example shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, the flange 13 is substantially in a shape of an annular plate. The flange 13 may have a substantially constant thickness T1 measured in a direction perpendicular to an extending direction of the flange 13. The thickness T1 of the flange 13 may be determined according to material of the flange, forming process of the spout, size of the spout, welding energy, etc.

[0079] The membrane 15 is arranged at an inner side of the spout body 11 and is configured to primarily seal the container body. The membrane 15 may have a pouring port 152 at its center for injection molding. The spout 10 may be an integral member formed by injection molding.

[0080] The membrane 15 may have a weaken portion 154 adjacent to the spout body 11. The weaken portion 154 has a strength smaller than the other portions of the membrane 15, so that the membrane 15 may be easily opened through the weaken portion 154. The weaken portion 154 may have a reduced thickness as shown in FIG. 1.

[0081] In the example shown in FIG. 1, the membrane 15 and the flange 13 are substantially in the same plane. The energy blocking structure 17 is arranged between the membrane 15 and the flange 13. The energy blocking structure 17 is configured to interrupt or decrease the transmission of vibration wave of ultrasonic welding from the flange 13 to the membrane 15.

[0082] In the example shown in FIG. 1, the energy blocking structure 17 is in a form of a groove 172. By arranging the groove 172, the vibration wave will pass through different media during transmitting from the flange 13 to the membrane 15, thus attenuating the vibration wave that finally reaches the membrane 15.

[0083] The groove 172 may be an annular groove arranged around the membrane 15. The groove 172 may be arranged radially outside the membrane 15. The groove 172 may be arranged concentrically with the weaken portion 154, which enables the vibration wave to be uniformly transmitted to the weaken portion 154, thereby reducing the risk of fracture of the weaken portion 154.

[0084] A junction 113 of the spout body 11 and the flange 13 may have an increased thickness. The groove 172 may be arranged in the junction 113.

[0085] With reference to FIG. 2, the groove 172 is formed on a side 118 (also called bottom side or bottom side surface) of the junction 113 opposite to the engaged portion 114. That is, the groove 172 is recessed inwardly from the bottom side 118 of the junction 113. The groove 172 has an opening 1724 on the bottom side 118. The groove 172 has a first inner surface 1721 and a second inner surface 1722. In other words, the groove 172 is defined by the first inner surface 1721 and the second inner surface 1722.

[0086] In the example shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, the groove 172 has a right triangle cross-section. The first inner surface 1721 extends substantially perpendicular to the flange 13 (i.e., perpendicular to the extension direction of the flange) . The second inner surface 1722 extends obliquely from the bottom side 118 of the junction 113 towards the engaged portion 114 of the spout body 11.

[0087] The first inner surface 1721 perpendicular to the flange 13 is positioned adjacent to the membrane 15, whereas the second inner surface 1722 extending obliquely towards the engaged portion 114 of the spout body 11 is positioned adjacent to the flange 13 (in particular, the welding part 132 of the flange 13) . Such a structure can divert or transmit the vibration wave of the ultrasonic welding from the welding part 132 of the flange 13 towards the engaged portion 114 of the spout body 11, thereby decreasing or preventing the transmission of the vibration wave towards the membrane 15.

[0088] An acute angle α is defined between the first inner surface 1721 and the second inner surface 1722. The acute angle α may be configured to direct towards the engaged portion 114, which is engaged with the cap, of the spout body 11, so as to guide the vibration wave to transmit towards the engaged portion 114. For example, the acute angle α may be ranged from 20 to 60 degrees, preferably, from 30 to 40 degrees.

[0089] The groove 172 has a depth measured in a direction perpendicular to the flange 13 (i.e., perpendicular to an extension direction of the flange) . As shown in FIG. 2, the groove 172 has a maximum depth D1 measured from the bottom side 118 to an apex of the acute angle α. For example, the maximum depth D1 of the groove 172 may be 1 to 10 times, preferably, 3 to 5 times, a mean thickness of the weaken portion 154 of the membrane 15. For example, the maximum depth D1 of the groove 172 may be ranged between 0.2mm and 2mm,  preferably, between 0.6mm and 1mm.

[0090] As mentioned above, the groove 172 has an opening 1724 on the bottom side 118. The opening 1724 has a width (also called opening width) W1. The opening width W1 can be measured in the extending direction of the flange 13. The opening width W1 is preferably not less than 0.2mm.

[0091] These parameters of the groove 172, including angle, depth and opening width, can be considered in combination as required, or can be determined in combination with the structure or materials of various parts of the spout.

[0092] It should be understood that the structure, shape, size, position, number or arrangement of the grooves should not be limited to the specific examples shown in the drawings, but may be varied as long as it can perform the functions described herein. The groove may be provided at any suitable position on the transmission path between the welding part of the flange and the membrane (in particular, the weaken portion of the membrane) . For example, the groove may be provided at the non-welding part of the flange, or may be provided radially outside the innermost surface of the spout body. The shape of the groove is not limited to the right triangle cross-section, as long as it can divert the transmission of the vibration wave of the ultrasonic welding towards the spout body. In the case that multiple grooves are provided, the multiple grooves may be arranged on the same side, or alternately arranged on different sides, and may have the same or different structures or sizes, as long as they can prevent the vibration wave of the ultrasonic welding from transmitting towards the membrane.

[0093] For example, FIGS. 3 and 4 show the groove with a different cross-sectional shape. FIG. 3 is a schematic partial sectional view of a spout 20 according to a second embodiment of the present application, and FIG. 4 is a partially-enlarged schematic view of part B of the spout 20 shown in FIG. 3.

[0094] The spout 20 has a groove 272 as an energy blocking structure. The difference between the groove 272 and the groove 172 lies in the different cross-sectional shapes. The groove 272 has an isosceles triangular cross-section and includes two inner surfaces, namely, a first inner surface 2721 and a second inner surface 2722, arranged symmetrically. The structure or features of the spout 20 same as or similar to those of the spout 10 will not be described in detail.

[0095] It should be understood that the energy blocking structure should not be limited to the form of the groove, but may be varied as long as it can perform the functions described herein.

[0096] For example, FIGS. 5 and 6 show an energy blocking structure in a form different from the groove. The energy blocking structure shown in FIGS. 5 and 6 is in a form of a step. The step is configured such that the membrane and the flange are spaced apart from each other by a predetermined distance in the extending direction of the flange or the membrane and / or in the direction perpendicular to the extending direction.

[0097] FIG. 5 is a schematic sectional view of a spout 30 according to a third embodiment of the present application, and FIG. 6 is a schematic perspective sectional view of the spout 30 shown in FIG. 5. As shown in FIGS. 5 and 6, the spout 30 includes a spout body 31, a flange 33, a membrane 35 and an energy blocking structure 37.

[0098] The flange 33 extends outwardly in the radial direction from an outer circumferential surface 3121 of the cylindrical wall 312 of the spout body 31, and the membrane 35 extends inwardly in the radial direction from an inner circumferential surface 3122 of the spout body 31. A step 37 is provided between the flange 33 and the membrane 35. The step 37 is configured such that the flange 33 and the membrane 35 are located at different levels with a predetermined spacing (or gap) between the top surface of the flange 33 and the bottom surface of the membrane 35 in the vertical direction.

[0099] In the example shown in FIGS. 5 and 6, the step 37 may be formed by a portion of the cylindrical wall 312 between the flange 33 and the membrane 35.

[0100] The flange 33 has a welding surface 336 which is fused with the container body during the ultrasonic welding. In the example shown in FIGS. 5 and 6, the welding surface 336 of the flange 33 is provided thereon with an energy transmission ring (ETR) 338. The energy transmission ring 338 protrudes from the welding surface 336 and contacts with the container body during the ultrasonic welding, so that the welding energy is concentrated to facilitate welding. The energy transmission ring 338 is in an annular shape and is arranged adjacent to the outer periphery edge 334 of the flange 33.

[0101] In the example shown in FIGS. 5 and 6, two concentric energy transmission rings 338 are provided. However, it should be understood that the number of the energy  transmission rings should not be limited, for example, the number of the energy transmission rings may be one, three or more. In the present application, the structure or arrangement of the energy transmission ring should not be limited.

[0102] There is a predetermined spacing S1 between the flange 33 and the membrane 35. The predetermined spacing S1 may be determined according to the material of the spout, the structure of the step, the welding energy, etc. For example, the predetermined spacing S1 may be ranged from 0.5mm to 6mm. For example, the predetermined spacing S1 may be 1 to 12 times the thickness T1 of the flange 33. It should be noted that the thickness T1 of the flange 33 does not refer to the thickness of the flange 33 at the energy transmission ring 338.

[0103] The vibration wave coming from the flange 33 changes direction (from horizontal direction to vertical direction as shown in FIGS. 5 and 6) at the step 37, and transmits to an free end portion 3125 of the cylindrical wall 312 of the spout body 31 (or the engaged portion engaged with the cap) . When the vibration wave passes through the membrane 35, most of the vibration wave still transmits along the vertical direction towards the free end portion 3125 of the cylindrical wall 312 (or the engaged portion engaged with the cap) , and only a small part of the vibration wave will change direction (change to the horizontal direction) and transmits towards the membrane 35. In this way, the risk of crack of the membrane caused by the vibration wave can be significantly decreased.

[0104] It should be understood that the structure of the step should not be limited to the specific example shown, but may be varied as long as the functions described herein can be implemented. For example, in the example shown in FIGS. 5 and 6, the membrane is closer to the free end portion of the cylindrical wall than the flange. However, the membrane may be further away from the free end portion of the cylindrical wall than the flange. For example, the step may also be configured such that the flange and the membrane are spaced apart in its extension direction (the horizontal direction in FIGS. 5 and 6) , or may be configured such that the flange and the membrane are spaced apart both in its extension direction (the horizontal direction in FIGS. 5 and 6) and in the direction perpendicular to the extension direction (the vertical direction in FIGS. 5 and 6) .

[0105] The energy blocking structure in the forms of the groove and the step have been described above. However, it should be understood that the energy blocking structure should not be limited to the specific examples shown and described herein, but may be varied as long  as the functions described herein are implemented.

[0106] FIG. 7 is a schematic sectional view of a spout assembly 1 according to an embodiment of the present application. The spout assembly 1 includes a spout 2 and a cap 3 engaged with the spout 2. The spout of the spout assembly 1 may be the spout as shown in FIGS. 1 to 6, or may be other spouts with the energy blocking structure described herein.

[0107] As shown in FIG. 7, the spout 2 includes a spout body 2a, a flange 2b, a membrane 2c, and an energy blocking structure 2d. The spout body 2a, the flange 2b, the membrane 2c, and the energy blocking structure 2d have similar or identical structures to those previously described with reference to FIGS. 1 to 6, and will not be described in detail here.

[0108] The spout 2 further includes a cutter 2e arranged inside the spout body 2a. The cutter 2e is configured to cut the membrane 2c. As described above, the cutter 2e may be configured to cut the weaken portion of the membrane 2c, so the weaken portion may also be called as a cut portion.

[0109] The cutter 2e may be accommodated in the spout body 2a and operated by a user, or the cutter may be connected to the cap 3 to rotate together with the cap 3 and cut the membrane 2c while rotating.

[0110] It should be understood that the structure of the cutter should not be limited in this application, as long as it can realize the functions described herein.

[0111] The cap 3 is engaged with the spout body 2a, for example, in a threaded engagement as shown in FIG. 7. The engagement of the cap 3 with the spout body 2a can realize the secondary sealing of the container body.

[0112] It should be understood that the structure of the cap should not be limited in this application as long as it can perform the functions described herein.

[0113] Generally, the spout without engaging with the cap (such as the spouts 10 to 30 shown in FIGS. 1 to 6) or the spout assembly formed by engaging the cap to the spout (such as the spout assembly 1 shown in FIG. 7) is welded to the container body (for example, a semi-finished carton) by a spout applying mechanism. Hereinafter, an applying mechanism for welding the spout or the spout assembly according to the present application to the container body will be described with reference to FIG. 8. FIG. 8 is a schematic view of a spout applying mechanism M10 according to an embodiment of the present application.

[0114] As shown in FIG. 8, the spout applying mechanism M10 includes an anvil 7 for holding the spout assembly and a welding horn 8 for the ultrasonic welding. In FIG. 8, the spout assembly 1 shown in FIG. 7 has been held on the anvil 7 and inserted through the opening of the container body 6.

[0115] The ultrasonic generator and transducer used for ultrasonic welding are not shown in FIG. 8, and are not described in detail herein. The welding horn 8 is configured to abut against the container body 6 and the welding part of the flange of the spout and apply welding energy for welding. The welding horn 8 has a cylindrical section 8b in which a chamber 8a is defined for receiving the cap of the spout assembly 1.

[0116] The anvil 7 and / or the welding horn 8 are configured to be movable relative to each other. When the anvil 7 and / or the welding horn 8 move towards each other, the cylindrical section 8b of the welding horn 8 can push the container body 6 to firmly abut against the flange of the spout of the spout assembly 1. When the welding energy is applied via the welding horn 8, the flange and the container body are connected and sealed together.

[0117] In order to improve the welding quality, an improved anvil is provided according to the present application. Hereinafter, an anvil according to the present application will be described.

[0118] FIGS. 9A to 9C are a schematic perspective view, a schematic sectional view and a schematic partially-enlarged sectional view of an anvil 7A according to a first embodiment of the present application, respectively. The anvil 7A is configured to improve a distribution of the welding energy, that is, has a structure for concentrating energy.

[0119] As shown in FIGS. 9A to 9C, the anvil 7A has an annular support 72. The spout assembly or the spout is held and supported on the annular support 72. The annular support 72 has a support surface 721 abutting against the flange of the spout.

[0120] Referring to FIG. 9C, the support surface 721 includes a protrusion 7211. The protrusion 7211 has a flat surface 7211a for abutting against the flange of the spout. The protrusion 7211 is configured to concentrate the welding energy. With the energy concentration function of the protrusion 7211, it is ensured that the materials of the container body and the flange of the spout can be melted and bonded together.

[0121] A width of the flat surface 7211a of the protrusion 7211 or a protruding height of the  protrusion 7211 may be determined according to the welding energy, welding area, etc.

[0122] It should be understood that the structure of the protrusion should not be limited to the specific example shown in FIGS. 9A to 9C, but may be varied as long as it can realize the functions described herein.

[0123] FIG. 10 is a schematic partially-enlarged sectional view of an anvil 7B according to a second embodiment of the present application. The structure of the anvil 7B shown in FIG. 10 is different from that of the anvil 7A shown in FIGS. 9A to 9B in the structure of the protrusion. In FIG. 10, the protrusion 7211 further includes a groove 7213, which is recessed from the flat surface 7211a. The groove 7213 may be in an annular shape and may be concentrically arranged with the annular support 72. The position of the groove 7213 may be determined according to the welding position of the flange. For example, the flat surface or the groove may be located corresponding to the welding part of the flange or the energy transmission ring of the flange.

[0124] In the example shown in FIG. 10, the groove 7213 has a trapezoidal section.

[0125] It should be understood that the structure, position, size, number or arrangement of the grooves of the protrusion may be varied as required, and will not be limited to the specific example shown in FIG. 10. For example, in the avail 7C shown in FIG. 11, the protrusion 7211 may be provided therein with two grooves 7216, each of which has a triangular section.

[0126] It should be understood that the anvil according to the present application should not be limited to the specific examples shown, but may be varied as long as it can realize the functions described herein.
