Description

ATOMIZATION APPARATUS AND ATOMIZATION DEVICE

[0001] CROSS REFERENCE

[0002] This application claims the priority to Chinese Patent Application No. 202311273402.4 filed on Sept 27, 2023, and entitled “Atomization Apparatus and Atomization Device” , which is hereby incorporated by reference in its entirety.FIELD

[0003] Example embodiments of the present disclosure generally relate to the field of atomizers , and in particular, to an atomization apparatus and an atomization device.BACKGROUND

[0004] Atomization devices are key components in converting an aerosol precursor into an inhalable aerosol. Some atomization devices allow the user to replenish the aerosol precursor. The aerosol precursor is injected into the liquid storage cavity of an atomization device mainly from the cigarette holder end, and the cigarette holder is assembled after the injection is completed. In this way, the aerosol precursor is sealed in the liquid storage compartment.

[0005] However, when the liquid storage cavity is filled with the aerosol precursor and the cigarette holder is assembled, as the cigarette holder is inserted, the air pressure in the liquid reservoir increases. This increased pressure compress the aerosol precursor, and in severe cases, the problem of leakage from the end of the heating module may occur.SUMMARY

[0006] In a first aspect of the present disclosure, an atomization apparatus is provided. The atomization apparatus comprises: a housing comprising: a liquid reservoir for accommodating an aerosol precursor, the liquid reservoir being provided with a liquid injection hole via which the aerosol precursor is added into the liquid reservoir; a convex rib portion protruding, along a circumferential direction, from a first side of a hole wall of the liquid injection hole in a radial direction; and at least one air escape groove respectively arranged to axially penetrate through the convex rib portion; and a support member arranged to close the liquid injection hole, and comprising: an annular protrusion portion arranged to tightly fit with a second side of the hole wall of the liquid injection hole in the radial direction, to at least seal the liquid injection hole; and at least one exhaust groove respectively extending axially from a free end of the support member to the annular protrusion portion.

[0007] In some embodiments, the first side is an outer side of the hole wall of the liquid injection hole, and the second side is an inner side of the hole wall.

[0008] In some embodiments, the number of the at least one air escape groove or the at least one exhaust groove is 1-3.

[0009] In some embodiments, cross-sectional shapes of the convex rib portion and the annular protrusion portion are arc-shaped.

[0010] In some embodiments, the annular protrusion portion is arranged, in case that the support member is mounted in position, to be located near an end of the housing where the liquid injection hole is arranged.

[0011] In some embodiments, the at least one exhaust groove extends in a direction parallel to an axis of the housing , at a non-zero angle from the axis, or in a helical shape.

[0012] In some embodiments, the atomization apparatus further comprises a central tube extending from a center of the liquid reservoir along an axis direction of the housing, to limit, together with the housing, a cross-sectional shape of the liquid reservoir to be annular, the central tube being adapted for the aerosol precursor to pass through, and wherein the support member further comprises an inner hole sealingly coupled to the central tube.

[0013] In some embodiments, the atomization apparatus further comprises a sealing ring arranged in a sealing groove of the inner hole of the support member to be sealingly around the central tube.

[0014] In some embodiments, the atomization apparatus further comprises a suction nozzle coupled to the support member and comprising a suction channel aligned with the central tube in an axis direction .

[0015] In some embodiments, the suction nozzle comprises: an inner coupling portion at least partially defining the suction channel and tightly fitting to the inner hole of the support member; and an outer coupling portion circumferentially arranged outside the inner coupling portion and coupled to an outer periphery of an outer sidewall of the liquid injection hole.

[0016] In some embodiments, the outer coupling portion comprises: an annular groove arranged to be radially aligned with the ridge portion after the support member is installed in place and having a cross-sectional shape matching the ridge portion.

[0017] an air escape groove is provided on a hole wall of a liquid injection hole of a liquid reservoir, and an exhaust groove is provided on a support member. when the suction nozzle is coupled to the housing and support member is inner coupled to the side wall of the liquid injection hole, the support member compress the air and the aerosol precursor, which inside the liquid reservoir. In this case, air inside the liquid reservoir is induced to the outside of the liquid reservoir through the air escape groove and the exhaust groove so that the internal pressure and the external pressure of the liquid reservoir are balanced. Thereby reducing the leakage of the aerosol precursor from the liquid reservoir due to the excessively high pressure inside the liquid reservoir while the support member blocks the liquid injection hole.

[0018] In a second aspect of the present disclosure, an atomization device is provided. The atomization device comprises: a power supply; and the atomization apparatus provided according to the first aspect of the present disclosure, the atomization apparatus is coupled to the power supply.

[0019] It should be understood that content described in this content section is not intended to limit key features or important features of embodiments of the disclosure, nor is it intended to limit the scope of the present disclosure. Other features of the present disclosure will become readily understood from the following description.BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

[0028] Embodiments of the present disclosure will be described in more detail below with reference to the accompanying drawings. Although certain embodiments of the present disclosure are shown in the accompanying drawings, it should be understood, that the present disclosure may be implemented in various forms and should not be construed as limited to embodiments set forth herein, but rather, these embodiments are provided for a thorough and complete understanding of the present disclosure. It should be understood that the drawings and embodiments of the present disclosure are only for illustrative purposes and are not intended to limit the scope of the present disclosure.

[0029] It should be noted that the headings of any section / subsection provided herein are not limiting. Various embodiments are described throughout herein, and any type of embodiment can be included under any section / subsection. Furthermore, embodiments described in any section / subsection may be combined in any manner with any other embodiments described in the same section / subsection and / or different sections / subsections.

[0030] In the description of embodiments of the present disclosure, the term "including" and the like should be understood as open-ended including, that is, "including but not limited to" . The term "based on" should be read as "based at least in part on" . The term "one embodiment" or "the embodiment" should be  read as "at least one embodiment" . The term "some embodiments" should be understood as "at least some embodiments" . Other explicit and implicit definitions may also be included below. The terms "first" , "second" , etc. may refer to different or identical objects. Other explicit and implicit definitions may also be included below.

[0031] As mentioned briefly above, when a cigarette holder (also referred to as a suction nozzle) is inserted into an end part of a liquid storage cavity of an atomization apparatus to close the liquid storage cavity (for example, after the liquid storage cavity is filled with an aerosol precursor) , with the continuous insertion of the cigarette holder, the space formed by the liquid reservoir and the cigarette holder is continuously reduced and the air inside the space is compressed, so that the pressure inside the liquid storage cavity is increased. In this case, the aerosol precursor is prone to overflow from the another end of the liquid storage cavity (for example, one end of the heating module) .

[0032] Embodiments of the present disclosure provide an atomization apparatus and an atomization device to solve or at least partially solve the described problems and other potential problems existing in conventional solutions. In various embodiments of the present disclosure, an air escape groove is provided on a hole wall of a liquid injection hole of a liquid reservoir of a housing, and a support member (which may be a part of a suction nozzle or coupled to the suction nozzle) for sealing the liquid injection hole is provided with a exhaust groove. In this way, during the coupling of the support member to the hole wall of the liquid injection hole, the support member squeezes the air inside the liquid reservoir and the aerosol precursor, and at this time, the air inside the liquid reservoir is led out to the outside of the liquid reservoir through the air escape groove and the exhaust groove, so that the air pressures inside and outside the liquid reservoir are balanced, thereby reducing the leakage of the aerosol precursor from the liquid reservoir caused by the excessively high pressure inside the liquid reservoir during the process of blocking the liquid injection hole by the support member.

[0033] FIG. 1 illustrates an overall structure schematic view of an atomization apparatus according to embodiments of the present disclosure. As shown in FIG. 1, the atomization device according to the embodiment of the present disclosure comprises a power supply and an atomization apparatus. The power supply is used for supplying at least a heating module (also referred to as an atomization core or heating core) in the atomization apparatus. When working, the heating module heats the aerosol precursor to convert the aerosol precursor into an aerosol. In some embodiments, the power source can be a rechargeable battery. In some alternative embodiments, the power supply may also be a power supply module connected to a mains supply, etc.

[0034] FIGS. 2 to 4 show sectional views of the atomization apparatus in different assembly states, respectively. As shown in FIGS. 2 to 4, the atomization apparatus generally comprises a housing 1 and a support member 2 coupled to the housing 1. The housing 1 comprises a liquid reservoir 11 for accommodating an aerosol precursor, and one end of the liquid reservoir 11 or a tail end of the housing 1 is provided with a liquid injection hole 12. The user can fill the aerosol precursor into the liquid reservoir 11 through the liquid injection hole 12. After the aerosol precursor in the liquid reservoir 11 is filled, the support  member 2 can be coupled to the liquid injection hole 12 along the installation direction I, and close the liquid injection hole 12.

[0035] As shown in FIGS. 2 to 4, specifically, the process that the support member 2 closes the injection hole 12 includes a process that the support member 2 moves from an idle position separated from the housing 1 to a pre-tensioned position partially coupled with the injection hole 12 along the installation direction I. The movement then continues in the installation direction I into an installed position in which it is completely coupled to the liquid injection hole 12 and closes off the liquid injection hole 12.

[0036] In some embodiments, the support member 2 may be annular in cross-section, and the outer diameter of the support member 2 is equal to or slightly larger than the inner diameter of the liquid injection hole 12, Thus, the support member 2 may be inserted into the liquid injection hole 12, to close and seal the liquid injection hole 12 by tight fit which an outer side wall of the support member 2 and an inner side wall of the hole wall of the liquid injection hole 12 (namely, the radial inner side of the end of housing 1 where the liquid injection hole 12 is located) . In other embodiments, the inner diameter of the support member 2 may also be slightly smaller than the outer diameter of the liquid injection hole 12, so that the support member 2 may be sleeved outside the liquid injection hole 12, that is, sleeved outside the end of the liquid injection hole 12 provided on the housing 1, so as to close the liquid injection hole 12 by tightly fitting the inner side wall of the support member 2 and the outer side surface of the hole wall of the liquid injection hole 12.

[0037] It should be understood that, according to embodiments of the present disclosure, regardless of whether the support member 2 is inserted into the liquid injection hole 12 or sleeved outside the liquid injection hole 12, the coupling between the support member 2 and the liquid injection hole 12 may be implemented, and the two connections are similar in terms of the principle and effect of blocking the liquid injection hole 12. Hereinafter, description will be given mainly base on an exemplary structure in which the support member 2 shown in the figures is inserted into the liquid injection hole 12, but the form in which the support member 2 is sleeved outside the liquid injection hole 12 is also applicable.

[0038] As shown in FIGS. 2 to 4, in some embodiments, the atomization apparatus further comprises a suction nozzle 5 coupled to the support member 2. The suction nozzle 5 comprises a suction portion, an inner coupling portion 52 coupled to the support member 2, and an outer coupling portion 51 coupled to the outer side surface of the hole wall of the liquid injection hole 12 (namely, the radial outer side of the end of the housing 1 provided with the liquid injection hole 12) . The suction portion is adapted to couple with a user’s mouth for inhalation and has a shape and structure adapted to couple with the user’s mouth. For example, the cross-sectional shape of the suction portion may be any suitable shape such as oval, circular, or the like, and embodiments of the present disclosure are not limited thereto. A suction channel is formed in the suction nozzle 5, and the suction channel can be in communication with an aerosol airflow generated by the heating module, so that the aerosol can flow into the user body through the suction channel when the user performs suction in the suction portion.

[0039] The inner coupling portion 52 and the outer coupling portion 51 are arranged at an end of the suction nozzle 5 opposite to the suction portion in the axial direction. The inner coupling portion 52 is arranged on the radially inner side of the outer coupling portion 51, and the inner coupling portion 52 is cylindrical, and the inner coupling portion 52 at least partially forms a suction channel.

[0040] In some embodiments, the inner coupling portion 52 of the suction nozzle 5 is coupled to the support member 2. For example, the support member 2 also comprises an inner hole 23. The suction nozzle 5 and the support member 2 can be formed separately, and the inner coupling portion 52 of the suction nozzle 5 fits tightly in the inner hole 23 of the support member 2 to thereby couple the suction nozzle 5 and the support member 2 together. In some alternative embodiments, the suction nozzle 5 may also be integrally formed with the support member 2.

[0041] When the support member 2 is coupled to the liquid injection hole 12, the outer coupling portion 51 of the suction nozzle 5 is fitted over an outer side surface (hereinafter referred to as a first side) of a hole wall of the liquid injection hole 12. A convex rib portion 13 is disposed on a first side of the wall of the injection hole, and the convex rib portion 13 protrudes from the first side (namely, an outer side) of the wall hole along a circumferential direction. In some embodiments, correspondingly, an annular groove 511 is further disposed on the outer coupling portion 51, and the annular groove 511 is concavely disposed on a surface of the outer coupling portion 51 along a radial direction. When the support member 2 is inserted into the liquid injection hole 12 and reaches the installed position relative to the liquid injection hole 12, the outer coupling portion 51 of the suction nozzle 5 is sleeved on the outer side wall of the liquid injection hole 12 (namely, the suction nozzle 5 is installed in place) , the annular groove 511 is aligned with the convex rib part 13 in the radial direction, and the convex rib portion 13 is embedded in the annular groove 511, thereby realizing the reliable positioning and limiting of the suction nozzle 5 and the support member 2 on the housing 1.

[0042] The housing 1 further comprises at least one air escape groove 14, in which the air escape groove 14 is provided on the convex rib portion 13, and the air escape groove 14 is arranged to penetrate the convex rib portion 13 along an axis. By means of an exhaust groove 22 as will be mentioned hereinafter, during the period when the support member 2 moves from the idle position to the pre-tensioned position along the installation direction I, the gas in the liquid reservoir 11 can be discharged to the outside of the liquid reservoir 11 in sequence through the exhaust groove 22 and the air escape groove 14, thereby realizing the pressure balance of the liquid reservoir 11, and effectively preventing the leakage of the aerosol precursor in the liquid reservoir 11 due to the excessive pressure. In some embodiments, when a plurality of air escape grooves 14 are arranged on the convex ribs portion 13 (for example, two or three air escape grooves 14 are arranged on the convex ribs portion 13) , the plurality of air escape grooves 14 may be arranged on the convex ribs portion 13 continuously or at intervals along the circumferential direction.

[0043] FIG. 5 illustrates an exploded view of a support member and a housing according to some embodiments of the present disclosure. As shown in FIG. 5, in some embodiments, the support member 2 includes an annular protrusion portion 21. An annular protrusion portion 21 is provided on an outer  circumferential surface of the support member 2 so as to protrude in a radial direction of the support member 2, and is coaxial with the support member 2. During the movement of the support element 2 in the installation direction I from the idle position into the pre-tensioned position, the annular protrusion portion 21 is progressively approached toward the radially inner side, which will be referred to hereinafter as the second side, of the wall of the liquid injection hole 12. After the support member 2 is moved from the pre-tensioned position to the installed position along the installation direction I, the annular protrusion portion 21 tightly abuts against the second side of the wall of the liquid injection hole 12, thereby implementing sealing between the support member 2 and the liquid injection hole 12.

[0044] In some embodiments, the outer diameter of the annular protrusion portion 21 may be slightly larger than the inner diameter of the hole wall of the liquid injection hole 12, while the outer diameter of the other portion of the support element 2 may be equal to or slightly smaller than the inner diameter of the hole wall of the liquid injection hole 12, thereby facilitating the movement of the support element 2 from the pre-tensioned position to the installed position.

[0045] In addition, the annular protrusion portion 21 may be arranged to be located near the end of the housing 1 where the liquid injection hole 12 is provided, that is, near the orifice of the liquid injection hole 12, with the support member 2 in the installed position. That is, the annular projecting portion 21 comes into contact with and abuts against the inner side of the hole wall of the liquid injection hole 12, thereby completing the assembly therebetween. In this way, effective pressure relief of the air in the liquid reservoir 11 is facilitated. In some embodiments, the cross-sectional shape of the annular protrusion portion 21 may be arranged in an arc shape, facilitating a tight fit with the hole wall of the liquid injection hole 12.

[0046] As mentioned in the foregoing, the support member 2 also comprises at least one exhaust groove 22 arranged on the side of the annular protrusion portion 21 axis direction to the liquid injection hole 12. In some embodiments, the extension direction of the exhaust groove 22 may be parallel to the axial direction of the support member 2, and the exhaust groove 22 may extend from the free end of the support member 2 to the annular protrusion portion 21, that is, the end of the exhaust groove 22 facing the annular protrusion portion 21 is close to or flush with the annular protrusion portion 21.

[0047] Of course, it should be understood that the structure of the exhaust groove 22 is not limited thereto, and the exhaust groove 22 may have other structures or extending directions. For example, in some alternate embodiments, the exhaust groove 22 may also extend diagonally (i.e., at a non-zero angle to the axis of the support member 2) or extend helically. Hereinafter, the concept according to the present disclosure will be described mainly by taking the exhaust groove 22 extending in a direction parallel to the axis of the support member 2 as an example. It should be understood that the case where the exhaust groove 22 has other structures or extending directions is also similar, and will not be described in detail hereinafter.

[0048] During the movement of the support member 2 in the installation direction I from the idle position to the installed position via the pre-tensioned position, As the support member 2 moves, air inside the liquid reservoir 11 is discharged to the outside of the liquid reservoir 11 through the gap formed between the exhaust groove 22 and the second side (namely, the inner side surface) of the hole wall of the liquid  injection hole 12 is formed with an aperture, as well as through the gap between the air escape groove 14 and the outer coupling portion 51. Thus, the air pressures inside and outside the liquid reservoir 11 are balanced, and the problem of the leakage of the aerosol precursor caused by the excessively high pressure inside the liquid reservoir 11 is reduced.

[0049] During the movement of the support member 2 from the pre-tensioned position to the installed position, the convex rib portion 13 of the housing 1 moves into the annular groove 511 of the outer coupling portion 51, and at the same time, the annular protrusion portion 21 abuts against the second side of the hole wall of the liquid injection hole 12 (namely, forming a tight fit) , so that the support member 2 seals the inner hole wall of the liquid injection hole 12, and the aerosol precursor is enclosed in the liquid reservoir 11.

[0050] FIGS. 6 and 7 show sectional views along B-B line in the view of FIG. 1, respectively, according to some embodiments of the present disclosure. In the example shown in FIG. 6, the number of the exhaust groove 22 and the air escape groove 14 is one, and in the example shown in FIG. 7, the number of the exhaust grooves 22 and the air escape grooves 14 is two. Of course, it should be understood that embodiments of the present disclosure are not limited thereto, and the exhaust grooves 22 may have other numbers (for example, three) like the number of air escape grooves 14 in the foregoing description, and the plurality of exhaust groove 22 may be distributed on the support member 2 in the circumferential direction of the support member 2.

[0051] In some embodiments, the number of exhaust groove 22 and the number of air escape groove 14 may or may not be equal. In addition, the position of the exhaust groove 22 may also be aligned with the position of the air escape groove 14 in the radial direction, or may not be aligned with the position of the air escape groove 14, and embodiments of the present disclosure are not limited thereto.

[0052] In addition, regarding the described support member 2 being sleeved outside the liquid injection hole 12, the annular protrusion portion 21 and the exhaust groove 22 can be arranged on an inner side wall of the support member 2. Accordingly, during the movement of the support member 2 in the installation direction I from the idle position to the pre-tensioned position, the air in the liquid reservoir 11 can be discharged outside the liquid reservoir 11 through the gap between the exhaust groove 22 and the outer surface (hereinafter referred to as the first side) of the wall of the liquid injection hole 12 and the gap between the air escape groove 14 and the outer coupling portion 51. As the support member 2 moves from the pre-tensioned position to the installed position along the installation direction I, the annular protrusion portion 21 gradually abuts against the outer side of the hole wall of the liquid injection hole 12, that is, abuts against the outer side of the end of the housing 1 where the liquid injection hole 12 is provided, so that the support member 2 closes and seals the liquid injection hole 12.

[0053] In some embodiments, the atomization apparatus further comprises a central tube 3 disposed within the housing 1 and the axis of the central tube 3 aligned with the axis of the housing 1. Of course, it should be understood that embodiments of the present disclosure are not limited thereto, for example, in some alternative embodiments, the axis of the central tube 3 may be offset from the axis of the housing 1. One end of the central tube 3 is in air communication with a heating module of the atomization device, the  other end thereof is coupled to at least one of the suction nozzle 5 and the support member 2, and a suction channel on the suction nozzle 5 is aligned on an axis with the central tube 3. When the suction nozzle 5 is coupled to an end portion of the liquid injection hole 12, the central tube 3 is in ventilation with the suction channel, so that under the action of suction by the user, the aerosol after the aerosol precursor is heated by the heating module can flow through the central tube 3 to the suction nozzle 5, and is discharged from the another end of the suction nozzle 5. The central tube 3 passes at least partially through the liquid reservoir 11, such that the cross-sectional shape of the space in the liquid reservoir 11 in which the aerosol precursor is stored is further limited to an annulus.

[0054] In some embodiments, the inner hole 23 of the support member 2 is sealed with the side wall of the central tube 3. Specifically, the support member 2 includes a sealing groove 24 provided on the circumference of the inner hole 23, and a sealing ring 4 is embedded in the sealing groove 24. When the support member 2 is coupled to the liquid injection hole 12, the sealing ring 4 abuts on the peripheral surface of the central tube 3, so that sealing is achieved at the connection between the support member 2 and the central tube 3.

[0055] Having described implementations of the disclosure above, the foregoing description is exemplary, not exhaustive, and is not limited to the implementations disclosed. Many modifications and variations will be apparent to those of ordinary skill in the art without departing from the scope and spirit of the implementations described. The choice of terms used herein is intended to best explain the principles of the implementations, the practical application, or improvements to technologies in the marketplace, or to enable others of ordinary skill in the art to understand the implementations disclosed herein.
