Processing quality judgment device

[0001] The present disclosure relates to a machining quality determination device.

[0002] Conventionally, there is known a technique for performing a machining simulation using data indicating machining contents such as a machining program, and comparing a machining shape model resulting from the simulation with a target model such as a CAD model to determine whether the machining is good or bad in advance (for example, Patent Documents 1 to 3).

[0003] Patent Document 1: JP 2010-058264 A, International Publication No. 2017 / 145912, International Publication No. 2000 / 032342

[0004] Incidentally, if a defect is detected in a pass / fail judgment during execution of a machining program, it is desirable to immediately stop execution of the machining program. One idea is to increase the number of pass / fail judgments during execution of the machining program in order to detect defects early in the pass / fail judgment, but frequent pass / fail judgments increase the processing load on the computer. If pass / fail judgments can be set at appropriate times, defects can be detected early while suppressing the processing load, but determining the appropriate pass / fail judgment timing requires knowledge and experience from the operator. Not all operators have sufficient knowledge and experience.

[0005] The present disclosure has been made in view of the above-mentioned problems, and aims to provide a technology that can perform a machining pass / fail determination at an appropriate timing during execution of a machining program.

[0006] The present disclosure relates to a machining quality determination device that determines whether machining is good or bad based on an execution result of a machining program, the machining quality determination device including: a memory unit that registers the machining program, a material shape before machining, tool information, quality determination timing information, and a target machining shape model corresponding to the quality determination timing; a machining program execution unit that executes the machining program and generates machine control position information; a machining shape model generation unit that generates a machining shape model based on the machine control position information, the material shape before machining, and the tool information; an automatic quality determination timing determination unit that automatically determines the quality determination timing based on an execution status of the machining program; and a machining shape model comparison unit that compares the machining shape model at the quality determination timing determined by the automatic quality determination timing determination unit with the target machining shape model to determine whether machining is good or bad during machining.

[0007] According to the present disclosure, it is possible to provide a technology that can perform a machining pass / fail determination at an appropriate timing during execution of a machining program.

[0009] Hereinafter, embodiments of the present disclosure will be described in detail with reference to the drawings.

[0010] 1 is a functional block diagram of a machining quality determination system 1 according to an embodiment of the present invention. The machining quality determination system 1 of this embodiment includes an input unit 2, a display unit 3, and a machining quality determination device 10.

[0011] The input unit 2 is an interface for an operator using the machining quality determination system 1 to perform various operations. The input unit 2 may be configured with buttons, a keyboard, or the like, or may be configured with a touch panel display. Furthermore, the input unit 2 may be configured with a computer different from the machining quality determination device 10. In this way, the configuration of the input unit 2 is not particularly limited.

[0012] The display unit 3 is an output device that notifies the operator of information relating to the use of the machining quality determination system 1 by means of images and sounds. The display unit 3 is configured by a display, a speaker, etc. The configuration of the display unit 3 is not particularly limited.

[0013] The machining quality determination device 10 executes a process for determining whether machining is good or bad based on the execution result of the machining program. The machining quality determination device 10 executes the quality determination in a simulation, and this simulation can be performed in parallel with the actual machining operation.

[0014] The machining quality determination device 10 is configured by a computer including hardware such as a processor, a main storage device, and an auxiliary storage device. The machining quality determination device 10 may be mounted on a numerical control device or may be configured to be connected to a numerical control device. Furthermore, the machining quality determination device 10 may be configured to be mounted on a virtual numerical control device (a simulator of a numerical control device) or may be configured to be connected to a virtual numerical control device.

[0015] The machining pass / fail judgment device 10 includes, as functional units operating on a computer processor, a memory unit 11, a machining program execution unit 12, a machining shape model generation unit 13, an automatic pass / fail judgment timing determination unit 14, a machining shape model comparison unit 15, and a machining program execution stop unit 16.

[0016] The storage unit 11 stores the machining program, the material shape before machining, tool information, a target machining shape model, and pass / fail judgment timing information. For example, this information is registered by a user, and is updated, added, deleted, or the like as appropriate by the machining pass / fail judgment device 10.

[0017] The machining program is, for example, a program in which commands specifying the machining content are written. The material shape before machining is, for example, information indicating the shape, volume, etc. of the workpiece before machining. The tool information is, for example, information specifying the shape and type of tool, such as a ball end mill, ball radius R1, etc. The target machining shape model is information indicating the specific shape that is the target to be generated by machining. The target machining shape model is registered for each machining stage. The pass / fail judgment timing information determines the timing for making a pass / fail judgment, and is information determined by the pass / fail judgment timing automatic determination unit 14, which will be described later.

[0018] The machining program execution unit 12 executes the machining program and executes a process of generating machine control position information. The machine control position information includes, for example, machining position data related to machining such as a machining position.

[0019] The machining shape model generating unit 13 generates a machining shape model based on the machine control position information generated by the machining program executing unit 12 and tool information indicating the material shape before machining and the tool shape registered in the storage unit 11. The machining shape model generating unit 13 generates a machining shape model by calculating the portion to be cut off from the material shape before machining (or the machining shape of the immediately previous stage) based on the machine control position information and the tool information, for example.

[0020] The quality determination timing automatic determination unit 14 executes a process of automatically determining the quality determination timing based on the execution status of the machining program.

[0021] The machining shape model comparison unit 15 executes a process of comparing the machining shape model with the target machining shape model to determine whether machining is acceptable or not. The target machining shape model to be compared may be one generated by the user using CAD software or the like, or the machining shape model generated by the machining shape model generation unit 13 may be one that has been registered in advance as the target machining shape model.

[0022] The method of determining whether machining is good or bad can employ various methods, such as known techniques. For example, edges may be extracted from the image information of the machining shape model and the target machining shape model, and the quality may be determined based on a comparison result of the degree of coincidence of the extracted edges. Alternatively, the quality may be determined based on whether the shape error of the machining shape model relative to the target machining shape model falls within the allowable error. In this way, various methods can be used to determine whether machining is good or bad.

[0023] The machining program execution stop unit 16 executes processing to stop the execution of the machining program when the machining shape model comparison unit 15 judges that the machining program is not good. The method for stopping the execution of the machining program is not particularly limited. For example, methods such as reset, interlock, feed rate override 0%, and emergency stop can be used to stop the execution of the machining program.

[0024] Next, a description will be given of the process of determining the timing for determining pass / fail by the automatic pass / fail determination timing determining unit 14. The automatic pass / fail determination timing determining unit 14 of this embodiment automatically determines the timing for determining pass / fail based on the operating conditions and the volume conditions.

[0025] The operating conditions are modal data of the machining program or the time from the start of operation. Modal data is data that changes depending on the analysis status of the program. Examples of modal data include block numbers, sequence numbers, predetermined codes specified in the machining program (e.g., M / S / T / B / G codes), and machining modes (e.g., rough / finish).

[0026] The volume condition is the amount of change in volume of the machined shape model during machining. The volume condition is, for example, a predetermined volume change from the volume of the pre-machined workpiece shape, or a change of a predetermined percentage or more with respect to the volume of the pre-machined workpiece shape.

[0027] The operating conditions and volume conditions may be conditions set in the machining quality determination system 1, or may be conditions that can be arbitrarily set by the machine manufacturer or the machine user.

[0028] The automatic quality determination timing determining unit 14 of this embodiment has a plurality of patterns for automatically determining the quality determination timing. Fig. 2 is a table showing an example of patterns for determining the quality determination timing.

[0029] 2, the automatic pass / fail judgment timing determination unit 14 automatically determines the pass / fail judgment timing based on the change in modal data as the operating condition and the volume change of the machining shape model as the volume condition. In this example, the block number at which the fast-forward command G00 was executed is set as the change in modal data. Also, the volume change of the machining shape model is set to be a change of 10% or more of the volume of the workpiece shape before machining.

[0030] In the second pattern, the automatic pass / fail judgment timing determination unit 14 automatically determines the pass / fail judgment timing based on the operation time as an operation condition and the volume change of the machined shape model as a volume condition. In this example, the elapsed time [seconds] from the start of operation is set as the operation time. Also, the volume change of the machined shape model is set as the time [seconds] elapsed from the start of operation when the volume is 1000 cm from the pre-machining work shape. 3 It is set to change more than this.

[0031] 3 is a diagram showing an example of a machining program. The machining program contains various commands based on preset codes, such as "M03 S100" for rotating the spindle in the forward direction at 100 revolutions per minute, "G28" for returning the machine to its origin, "G00" for positioning (fast forward), and "G01" for linear interpolation. As described above, "G00" is the code set in the operating conditions of the first pattern.

[0032] Fig. 4 is a diagram showing an example of a target machining shape model for each machining stage. Fig. 4 shows an example in which the target machining shape changes from the pre-machining workpiece shape to a target machining shape model A, a target machining shape model B, and a target machining shape model C. Also, the volume conditions and operating conditions of the first pattern and the second pattern set for each of the target machining shape model A, the target machining shape model B, and the target machining shape model C are shown in a table format.

[0033] In the first pattern, the volume condition is set to a change of 10%. This 10% is a percentage when the volume of the workpiece shape before machining is set to 100%. Therefore, the volume condition set for the first target machining shape model A is 4500 cm 3 The volume condition set for the next target machining shape model B is 4000 cm 3 The volume condition set for the next target machining shape model C is 3500 cm 3 The result is as follows.

[0034] The operating conditions set for each of the target machining shape model A, the target machining shape model B, and the target machining shape model C are all set so that the first fast-forward command "G00" is executed after the volume change condition is met. For example, if the volume of the workpiece shape before machining is changed by 10% (4500 cm in the first case), 3 The timing at which the first fast-forward command "G00" is detected after the detection of the following (see below) is the timing at which the quality is judged.

[0035] In the second pattern, the volume condition is the volume of the workpiece shape before machining (5000 cm 3 ) to 1000 cm 3 Therefore, the volume condition set for the initial target machining shape model A is 4000 cm 3 The volume condition set for the next target machining shape model B is 3000 cm 3 The volume condition set for the next target machining shape model C is 2000 cm 3 The operating conditions set for each of the target machining shape model A, the target machining shape model B, and the target machining shape model C are all a predetermined elapsed time from the start of operation.

[0036] Next, we will explain the target range of the comparison process of the machining shape model comparison unit 15. As described above, the machining shape model comparison unit 15 executes the process of comparing the machining shape model at the timing of pass / fail judgment with the target machining shape model to judge whether machining is pass or fail. In this embodiment, the target range of the comparison process is the part where there is a difference between the target machining shape model at the timing of the previous pass / fail judgment and the target machining shape model at the timing of the current pass / fail judgment.

[0037] In the example of Fig. 4, there are multiple models, namely, a pre-machining workpiece shape and multiple target machining shape models A to C. Of these multiple models, the part of the model to be compared that has a difference with the current model and the model immediately before the current model is the target range of the comparison process.

[0038] Fig. 5 is a perspective view showing the target machining shape model A. Fig. 6 is a perspective view showing the target machining shape model B. Below, a case will be described in which the current model is the target machining shape model B and the previous model is the target machining shape model A.

[0039] 5 and 6, the area where there is a difference between target machining shape model A and target machining shape model B is the target range for comparison. In target machining shape model B in Fig. 6, a cube with two vertices, (X150, Y100, Z200) and (X200, Y0, Z100), is the target range for comparison. (X150, Y100, Z200) is the vertex of the cube that is farthest from (X200, Y0, Z100).

[0040] Fig. 7 is a perspective view showing a target range of the comparison process in the target machining shape model B, which differs from that of the target machining shape model A. The target range shown in Fig. 7 is shown in the opposite direction to that in Fig. 6. In this example, only the portion shown in Fig. 7 is the target range for comparison. This makes it possible to reduce the load of the comparison process compared to when the entire target machining shape model B is used as the target range for comparison.

[0041] 5 to 7, the previous comparison object is the target machining shape model, but this is not limited to this configuration. The previous comparison object can also be the machining shape model generated last time, and the part that differs from the machining shape model can be used as the comparison object range.

[0042] Next, the flow of the overall quality determination process will be described with reference to Fig. 8. Fig. 8 is a flowchart showing the flow of the overall quality determination process. Note that this flowchart is merely an example.

[0043] In step S1, the automatic quality determination timing determining unit 14 determines whether the quality determination timing has been determined.

[0044] If the timing for determining whether the test is good or bad has not yet been determined, an automatic determination process for determining whether the test is good or bad (see FIG. 9, which will be described later) is executed in step S2.

[0045] If the pass / fail judgment timing has already been determined, it is determined in step S3 whether or not to determine the pass / fail judgment timing again. This determination may be made automatically by the pass / fail judgment timing automatic determination unit 14 under conditions such as "change of machining program," "change of work offset amount," "change of tool offset amount," "every 10 times execution of machining program," etc., or the operator may make the determination and input the result of the determination.

[0046] If the pass / fail judgment timing is to be determined again, an automatic pass / fail judgment timing determination process (see FIG. 9, which will be described later) is executed in step S2.

[0047] If the timing for determining acceptability is not to be determined again, a detailed process for determining acceptability (see FIG. 10 described later) is executed in step S4.

[0048] Next, the flow of the process for automatically determining the timing for determining pass / fail will be described with reference to Fig. 9. Fig. 9 is a flowchart showing the flow of the process for automatically determining the timing for determining pass / fail. Note that this flowchart is merely an example.

[0049] In step S30, the machining program execution unit 12 determines whether or not the execution of the machining program has ended. If the execution of the machining program has ended, the pass / fail judgment timing automatic determination process ends.

[0050] If the execution of the machining program has not ended, in step S31, the machining program execution unit 12 executes the machining program and generates machine control position information.

[0051] In step S32, the machining shape model generating unit 13 generates a machining shape model based on the machine control position information, the material shape, and the tool information.

[0052] In step S33, the automatic quality judgment timing determination unit 14 judges whether the volume of the machining shape model satisfies the volume condition.

[0053] In the case of the first pattern, the automatic pass / fail judgment timing determination unit 14 determines whether the volume of the machining shape model generated by the machining shape model generation unit 13 has changed by 10% or more from the pre-machining workpiece shape (the volume is 4500 cm 3 The system will monitor whether the following requirements are met:

[0054] If the volume of the machining shape model satisfies the volume condition, the automatic pass / fail judgment timing determination unit 14 proceeds to step S34 (step S33; Yes). If the volume of the machining shape model does not satisfy the volume condition, the automatic pass / fail judgment timing determination unit 14 continues monitoring the volume condition (step S33; No).

[0055] In step S34, the automatic quality determination timing determination unit 14 determines whether the operating conditions are satisfied. In this embodiment, the operating conditions are monitored only when the volume condition is satisfied, which has the effect of reducing the processing load compared to when both the volume condition and the operating condition are determined.

[0056] In the case of the first pattern, the automatic pass / fail judgment timing determination unit 14 monitors whether the operating condition "execution of G00" is satisfied as the execution status in the machining program execution unit. G00 is a condition that appears repeatedly in the machining program, but since the judgment process of the operating condition is premised on the detection of the volume condition in step S13, the detection of excessive operating conditions is avoided.

[0057] If the operating conditions are satisfied, the automatic quality determination timing determination unit 14 proceeds to step S35 (step S34; Yes). If the operating conditions are not satisfied, the automatic quality determination timing determination unit 14 continues monitoring the operating conditions (step S34; No).

[0058] In step S35, the quality judgment timing automatic determination unit 14 registers the block number of the machining program in which G00 was executed as the quality judgment timing since both the operating conditions and the volume conditions are satisfied.

[0059] For example, the automatic quality judgment timing determination unit 14 may set the operation condition "execution of G00" and the volume condition "volume changes by 10% or more from the shape of the workpiece before machining" (in the first case, the volume is 4500 cm 3 If both conditions (below) and (d) are met, the block number of the machining program in which G00 was executed is registered as the timing for the first pass / fail judgment.

[0060] Similarly, the operating condition is "Execution of G00" and the volume condition is "Volume is changed by 10% or more of the work shape before machining" (in the second case, the volume is 4000 cm 3 When both the above conditions are met, the block number of the machining program in which G00 was executed is registered as the timing for the second pass / fail judgment. In addition, the operation condition "execution of G00" and the volume condition "volume has changed by 10% or more of the workpiece shape before machining" (in the third case, the volume is 3500 cm 3 If both conditions (below) and (d) are satisfied, the block number of the machining program in which G00 was executed is registered as the timing for the third pass / fail judgment.

[0061] In step S36, the automatic pass / fail judgment timing determination unit 14 determines whether or not there is a target shape model at the pass / fail judgment timing. This determination may be made automatically by the automatic pass / fail judgment timing determination unit 14 based on whether or not a target shape model corresponding to the block number of the machining program registered as the pass / fail judgment timing is registered in advance, or the operator may make the determination and input the result of the determination.

[0062] If it is determined that a target shape model "exists," a shape model to be registered as the target shape model is selected in step S37, and the selected shape model is registered as the target shape model in step S38.

[0063] If it is determined that there is no target shape model, it is determined in step S39 whether or not to register the current machining shape model as the target shape model. This determination may be made by the operator one by one during execution of the machining program and the result of the determination may be input, or the determination may be made all at once after the execution of the machining program has been completed.

[0064] If it is determined that the current machining shape model is not to be registered as the target shape model, the execution of the machining program continues.

[0065] If it is determined that the current machining shape model is to be registered as the target shape model, the current machining shape model is registered as the target shape model in step S38.

[0066] Next, the flow of the detailed pass / fail determination process will be described with reference to Fig. 10. Fig. 10 is a flowchart showing the flow of the detailed pass / fail determination process. Note that this flowchart is merely an example.

[0067] In step S40, the machining program execution unit 12 determines whether or not the execution of the machining program has ended. If the execution of the machining program has ended, the pass / fail judgment timing automatic determination process ends.

[0068] If the execution of the machining program has not ended, in step S41, the machining program execution unit 12 executes the machining program and generates machine control position information.

[0069] In step S42, the machining shape model generating unit 13 generates a machining shape model based on the machine control position information, the material shape, and the tool information.

[0070] In step S43, the machining shape model comparison unit 15 determines whether it is time to make a pass / fail determination.

[0071] If it is not time to judge whether the machining program is good or bad, the machining program continues to be executed.

[0072] If it is time to judge whether the target shape model is good or bad, it is judged in step S44 whether the target shape model has been registered.

[0073] If the target shape model is registered, in step S45, the machining shape model comparison unit 15 compares the target machining shape model with the generated machining shape model to execute a pass / fail judgment process to determine whether they match.

[0074] If the comparison result in the quality determination process is good, the execution of the machining program continues (step S45; Yes).If the comparison result in the quality determination process is bad, the process proceeds to step S46 (step S45; No).

[0075] In step S46, the machining program execution stop unit 16 executes processing to stop the execution of the machining program since it has been determined to be defective. This processing may include processing to display on the display unit 3 that the result of the pass / fail judgment is defective. After step S46, the processing ends. If the machining pass / fail judgment device 10 is mounted on a numerical control device or connected to a numerical control device, actual machining is stopped, and unnecessary continuation of machining can be stopped at an early stage.

[0076] If the target shape model is not registered, it is determined in step S47 whether or not to register the target shape model. This determination may be made by an operator and the determination result may be input, or the machining shape model comparison unit 15 may automatically determine based on a condition such as "machined shape models at the same pass / fail determination timings for the past 10 times have been stored."

[0077] In step S48, a target shape model is registered. The shape model to be registered may be the current machining shape model, or may be the average shape of the machining shape models accumulated at the same pass / fail judgment timing.

[0078] 9, the first pattern is used as a condition for determining the timing to perform the pass / fail judgment, but the second pattern can also be used. In this case, the pass / fail judgment timing automatic determination unit 14 determines whether the volume of the machining shape model generated by the machining shape model generation unit 13 is 1000 cm from the before-machining workpiece shape. 3 The volume condition is monitored to see if the change is greater than the above. Also, the "elapsed time from the start of operation" is monitored as an operating condition.

[0079] As described above, the machining quality determination device 10 of this embodiment includes a memory unit 11 that registers the machining program, the material shape before machining, tool information, quality determination timing information, and a target machining shape model corresponding to the quality determination timing, a machining program execution unit 12 that executes the machining program and generates machine control position information, a machining shape model generation unit 13 that generates a machining shape model based on the machine control position information, the material shape before machining, and the tool information, an automatic quality determination timing determination unit 14 that automatically determines the quality determination timing based on the execution status of the machining program, and a machining shape model comparison unit 15 that compares the machining shape model at the quality determination timing determined by the automatic quality determination timing determination unit 14 with the target machining shape model to determine the quality of machining during machining.

[0080] This allows pass / fail judgments to be made during machining at timings set according to the execution status of the machining program. The appropriate timing for pass / fail judgments during machining program execution can be determined regardless of the operator's knowledge or experience, thereby reducing the workload and improving efficiency. Conventionally, when there is a large change in volume even with the same tool / process, there have been cases where the timing for tool replacement alone is insufficient to make pass / fail judgments. In this regard, the machining pass / fail judgment device of this embodiment makes pass / fail judgments early and at the appropriate timing, so that even if a defect occurs, it is possible to take action early.

[0081] Furthermore, the automatic pass / fail judgment timing determining unit 14 of this embodiment automatically determines the pass / fail judgment timing using the volume change of the machining shape model when the machining program is executed as the execution status of the machining program.

[0082] This allows the quality determination to be performed while reflecting changes in the volume amount, which has a large effect on the quality determination, and allows for more accurate and appropriate timing for determining quality.

[0083] Furthermore, the automatic pass / fail judgment timing determining unit 14 of this embodiment automatically determines the pass / fail judgment timing using the volume change of the machining shape model and the change of the modal data when the machining program is executed as the execution status of the machining program.

[0084] This allows changes in modal data indicating the machining state to be reflected in addition to changes in volume, which have a significant effect on pass / fail judgment, so that the appropriate pass / fail judgment timing can be set with even greater precision.

[0085] Furthermore, the automatic pass / fail judgment timing determining unit 14 of this embodiment automatically determines the pass / fail judgment timing based on the volume change of the machining shape model when the machining program is executed and the operation time as the execution status of the machining program.

[0086] This allows the operation time, which indicates the elapsed time of processing, to be reflected in addition to the change in volume, which has a large effect on the pass / fail judgment, so that the appropriate timing for pass / fail judgment can be set with even greater precision.

[0087] Furthermore, the storage unit 11 of this embodiment stores the machining shape model at the pass / fail judgment timing determined by the pass / fail judgment timing automatic determination unit 14 as the target machining shape model.

[0088] As a result, the machining shape model at each pass / fail judgment timing is saved as the target machining shape model each time the machining program is executed. The target machining shape model during machining for each pass / fail judgment timing can be created without operator intervention, reducing the workload.

[0089] In addition, in the case where there are multiple pass / fail judgment timings determined by the pass / fail judgment timing automatic determination unit 14, the machining shape model comparison unit 15 of this embodiment only uses the part of the previous pass / fail judgment timing that differs from the machining shape model or target machining shape model as the comparison range.

[0090] As a result, only the parts that differ from the machining shape model at the previous pass / fail judgment timing are the range to be compared, which reduces the processing load and speeds up the processing time compared to when the entire model is the range to be compared.

[0091] The machining quality determination device 10 of this embodiment further includes a machining program execution stop unit 16 that stops execution of the machining program when the quality determination result by the machining shape model comparison unit 15 is poor.

[0092] This reduces the amount of time wasted in processing and simulation after a defect occurs.

[0093] The operating conditions and volume conditions are not limited to the first and second patterns described in the above embodiment. Multiple types of conditions for determining the pass / fail judgment timing can also be set. For example, if the code indicating the type of tool in the machining program indicates the use of T1 to T5, the block number at which the first G00 is executed after a 10% volume change can be registered as the pass / fail judgment timing, and if the code indicates the use of T6 to T10, the block number at which the first G00 is executed after a 5% volume change can be registered as the pass / fail timing. In this way, the operating conditions and volume conditions can be configured to change depending on the machining stage and machining conditions.

[0094] In the above embodiment, the automatic determination unit 14 for determining the timing for determining whether or not the product is good takes into account both the operating conditions and the volume conditions as execution states, but the present invention is not limited to this configuration. For example, the automatic determination unit 14 may be configured to determine the timing for determining whether or not the product is good when either the operating conditions or the volume conditions are satisfied.
