Description

Damper with torque limiter

[0001] The present disclosure relates to a damper with a torque limiter.

[0002] Patent Document 1 describes a torque limiter-equipped damper (referred to as a torque fluctuation absorption device in Patent Document 1) that has a limiter section on the outer periphery, a hysteresis section on the inner periphery, and a damper section located radially between them.

[0003] In this patent document 1, the limiter portion comprises a pair of plates fixed to the outer periphery of a flywheel that rotates by the driving force of the engine, and a pair of friction materials, a disc spring, a pusher plate, and a lining plate sandwiched on the inner periphery of the pair of plates.

[0004] This torque limiter-equipped damper is supported by a lining plate sandwiched between the outer peripheries of a pair of side plates connected to the damper section and fixed with rivets. The torque limiter also has a hub member into which the transmission-side rotating shaft fits, and this hub member has a flange section.

[0005] This torque limiter-equipped damper has a damper portion having a coil spring with seat members at both ends, and the seat members are fitted into window portions of a pair of side plates and window portions formed in the flange portion of the hub member.

[0006] JP 2010-230162 A

[0007] The torque limiter damper described in Patent Document 1 limits the transmission of excessive load torque by causing a pair of friction materials in the limiter section and a lining plate to rotate relative to each other in response to fluctuations in load torque between the engine-side rotating shaft and the transmission-side rotating shaft. Furthermore, this torque limiter damper absorbs fluctuations in load torque by applying a compressive force to a coil spring via a seat member when the side plate and hub member rotate relative to each other in response to fluctuations in load torque.

[0008] However, the torque limiter damper described in Patent Document 1 has a limiter portion and a damper portion that are independent components, which leads to an increase in the number of parts and an increase in assembly costs.

[0009] For these reasons, there is a demand for a damper with a torque limiter that can be assembled at low cost with a reduced number of parts.

[0010] The configuration of the torque limiter damper according to the present disclosure is a torque limiter damper that limits the transmission of driving force from an internal combustion engine of a vehicle to a driving transmission device of the vehicle when the load torque acting on the driving transmission device from the internal combustion engine of the vehicle exceeds a threshold value, and comprises a pair of side plates arranged separately in the axial direction of the input shaft of the driving transmission device, a friction-type limiter unit that is housed in the space between the pair of side plates radially outside the pair of side plates and slips when the load torque exceeds the threshold value, and a damper unit that is arranged in an area of the pair of side plates closer to the axial center than the limiter unit and absorbs the transmission of driving force by elastic deformation of a spring as the load torque increases, and the pair of side plates have contact portions where opposing opposing surfaces come into contact at an intermediate position between the limiter unit and the damper unit in the radial direction.

[0011] For example, a torque limiter-equipped damper could be constructed by assembling the limiter portion and the damper portion separately and then integrating them using a connecting member such as a plate or rod. However, using such a connecting member increases the number of parts and the assembly process. In contrast, the present configuration accommodates the limiter portion on the radially outer side of a pair of side plates, and the damper portion is disposed radially inward of the limiter portion on one of the pair of side plates. This eliminates the need for a connecting member and eliminates the need for a connecting process. Furthermore, by forming a contact portion where opposing surfaces of the pair of side plates contact each other at a radially intermediate position between the limiter portion and the damper portion, the disadvantage of the gap between the pair of side plates becoming excessively narrow can be suppressed. In particular, since the pair of side plates includes the limiter portion and the damper portion, a dedicated component for transmitting torque between the limiter portion and the damper portion is not required. Therefore, a torque limiter-equipped damper with a reduced number of parts and low-cost assembly is constructed.

[0012] 1 is a longitudinal sectional side view of a torque limiter-equipped damper; 2 is a longitudinal sectional side view showing a limiter portion and a damper portion; 3 is a longitudinal sectional side view showing a limiter portion and a hysteresis portion; 4 is a partially cutaway front view of a torque limiter-equipped damper; 5 is a front view showing a state in which a restricting protrusion portion of a flange body and a first bulging portion are in contact with each other; 6 is a front view showing a front / back identification index of another embodiment (b); 7 is a cross-sectional view showing a front / back identification index of another embodiment (b); 8 is a cross-sectional view showing a friction action mechanism of another embodiment (c); 9 is a cross-sectional view showing a friction action mechanism of another embodiment (d); 10 is a cross-sectional view showing a friction action mechanism of another embodiment (d); 11 is a cross-sectional view showing a friction action mechanism of another embodiment (e); 12 is a cross-sectional view showing a friction action mechanism of another embodiment (f).

[0013] An embodiment of a torque limiter damper according to the present disclosure will be described below with reference to the drawings. In this embodiment, a limiter portion T and a damper portion D are disposed at the positions shown in Fig. 1 as an example of a torque limiter damper A. However, the configuration and positional relationship thereof are not limited to the following embodiment and various modifications are possible without departing from the spirit of the present invention.

[0014] 1 to 3, a torque limiter damper A is disposed in a transmission path that transmits the driving force of a flywheel 1 (one example of a driving rotor) that rotates integrally with the crankshaft of a vehicle engine (an internal combustion engine, not shown) to an input shaft 2 of a travel transmission device TM such as a vehicle transmission. This torque limiter damper A is not limited to a driving rotor that is the flywheel 1, but may also be used for a rotor to which driving force is transmitted from a fly mass. The engine uses gasoline, hydrogen gas, or the like as fuel to rotate the crankshaft.

[0015] The torque limiter damper A protects the driving transmission device TM by limiting the transmission of load torque when a high load torque acts on the driving transmission device TM from the engine, such as immediately after the engine is started. Also, when a high load torque acts on the driving transmission device TM from the tires, such as when the vehicle is traveling on a rough road, the torque limiter damper A protects the driving transmission device TM by limiting the transmission of load torque.

[0016] The torque limiter-equipped damper A can be installed not only in hybrid vehicles (HVs) that transmit the driving force of the engine and the driving force of the traction motor to the driving transmission device TM, but also in non-hybrid vehicles that do not use a traction motor.

[0017] 1 to 3, the torque limiter damper A has a hub 3 into which the input shaft 2 of the travel transmission device TM is fitted. The torque limiter damper A has a pair of side plates P, consisting of a first side plate 11 and a second side plate 12, which are arranged separately in a direction along an axis X (which coincides with the axis of the input shaft 2) that serves as the rotation center of the hub 3.

[0018] The first side plate 11 and the second side plate 12 are examples of side plates P, and the one positioned close to the flywheel 1 is called the first side plate 11, and the one positioned close to the travel transmission device TM is called the second side plate 12.

[0019] As shown in FIGS. 1 to 4, the first side plate 11 and the second side plate 12 are disk-shaped and centered on the axis X. A hole is formed in the center of the plate, and the hub 3 is housed in this hole.

[0020] The torque limiter-equipped damper A has a limiter portion T arranged on the outer periphery of the side plate P, multiple (four in this embodiment) damper portions D arranged at a position closer to the axis X than the limiter portion T, and a hysteresis portion H arranged on the outer periphery of the hub 3, which is on the inner periphery side of the damper portions D.

[0021] Furthermore, the torque limiter-equipped damper A forms a plurality of (four in this embodiment) contact portions C between the limiter portion T and the damper portion D in the radial direction of the pair of side plates P (first side plate 11 and second side plate 12). Rivets 6 are inserted into the plurality of contact portions C in a direction parallel to the axis X, and the pair of side plates P are connected by these rivets 6 at the positions of the plurality of contact portions C.

[0022] 1 to 3, the limiter portion T is accommodated in an outer peripheral space S1 formed between the first side plate 11 and the second side plate 12, on the outer peripheral side of the first side plate 11 and the second side plate 12. This outer peripheral space S1 is an example of a space formed between the pair of side plates P on the radially outer side of the pair of side plates P.

[0023] The limiter section T includes a lining plate 14 made of an annular plate material fixed to the flywheel 1, a first friction material 15 arranged at a position where it contacts the lining plate 14, a pressure plate 17 that engages with the first friction material 15, a disc spring 18 (an example of a biasing member) that applies contact pressure to the pressure plate 17, and a second friction material 19 that is supported on the outer periphery of the second side plate 12 and contacts the lining plate 14. These are accommodated in the outer periphery side space S1. In particular, the first friction material 15, the pressure plate 17, the disc spring 18, and the second friction material 19 that apply a friction force to the lining plate 14 are sometimes referred to as a friction action mechanism F.

[0024] The inner periphery of the lining plate 14 is sandwiched between the first friction material 15 and the second friction material 19. A plate-shaped connecting portion 14P is integrally formed on the outer periphery of the lining plate 14. This connecting portion 14P is an area for connecting to the flywheel 1, and has an abutment surface 14S that abuts against the connected surface of the flywheel 1.

[0025] With this configuration, the lining plate 14 is connected and fixed to the flywheel 1 by abutting the abutment surface 14S of the connecting portion 14P against the connected surface of the flywheel 1, inserting multiple connecting bolts 16 into multiple holes in the connecting portion 14P, and tightening them.

[0026] In particular, the torque limiter-equipped damper A has a front / back identification indicator G formed on the connecting portion 14P of the lining plate 14 to prevent mistakes in the front / back of the abutment surface 14S of the connecting portion 14P when connecting and fixing the connecting portion 14P to the flywheel 1.

[0027] 2 and 4, the front / back identification indicator G is formed by pressing so that the contact surface 14S of the connecting portion 14P has a circular concave shape and the opposite side of the contact surface 14S has a circular convex shape. The convex portion of the front / back identification indicator G is formed in a position that will come into contact with the connected surface of the flywheel 1 if the connecting portion 14P is assembled upside down.

[0028] As a result, if the front and back of the connecting part 14P are assembled incorrectly when connecting the lining plate 14 to the flywheel 1, the convex part of the front / back identification indicator G will come into contact with the connected surface of the flywheel 1, causing the connecting part 14P to float up from the connected surface of the flywheel 1, making it possible to recognize the assembly error.

[0029] The disc spring 18 is formed of an annular spring plate material centered on the axis X, and the entire outer circumference or a partial area in the circumferential direction of the disc spring 18 abuts against the inner surface of the first side plate 11, and the entire inner circumference or a partial area in the circumferential direction of the disc spring 18 abuts against the pressure plate 17. This causes the biasing force of the disc spring 18 to act on the first friction material 15.

[0030] 3 and 4 , a portion of the pressure plate 17 engages with the second side plate 12, and the engaging protrusion 17a engages with a hole in the second side plate 12, thereby preventing rotation of the first friction material 15 and positioning it in the radial direction. Furthermore, the first friction material 15 is prevented from rotating and positioned in the radial direction by the projection 17T formed on the pressure plate 17 engaging with a hole formed in the first friction material 15. Furthermore, the second friction material 19 is prevented from rotating and positioned in the radial direction by the projection 12T formed on the second side plate 12 engaging with a hole formed in the second friction material 19.

[0031] When the load torque is less than a threshold value, the limiter section T maintains the first friction material 15 and the lining plate 14 in a pressed state, and also maintains the second friction material 19 and the lining plate 14 in a pressed state, thereby causing the flywheel 1 and the pair of side plates P to rotate integrally.

[0032] In contrast to this, as shown in FIG. 2, when the load torque exceeds a threshold value, the limiter section T generates slip on the friction force acting surface R between the first friction material 15 and the lining plate 14, and also generates slip on the friction force acting surface R between the second friction material 19 and the lining plate 14, thereby limiting the increase in the load torque and eliminating the inconvenience of excessive load torque acting between the flywheel 1 and the travel transmission device TM.

[0033] 1 to 4, the torque limiter-equipped damper A has a plurality of (four in this embodiment) contact portions C formed at positions radially offset from the limiter portion T toward the axis X of the side plate P. These contact portions C are disposed radially outward of the damper portion D, and are disposed at positions overlapping imaginary lines (not shown) extending radially so as to divide the damper portion C into a plurality of portions in the circumferential direction at equal radial intervals from the axis X.

[0034] As a specific structure, the first side plate 11 is formed with a first bulging wall 11c that bulges toward the second side plate 12. Similarly, the second side plate 12 has a second bulging wall 12c that bulges toward the first side plate 11. The first bulging wall 11c and the second bulging wall 12c form a contact portion C.

[0035] The contact portion C has a plurality of through holes 13 formed in the contact wall (an example of an opposing surface) at the bulging end of the first bulging wall 11c and the contact wall (an example of an opposing surface) at the bulging end of the second bulging wall 12c.

[0036] With this configuration, the torque limiter-equipped damper A has the contact wall of the first bulging wall 11c abutting against the contact wall of the second bulging wall 12c, and the first side plate 11 and the second side plate 12 are connected and fixed together by rivets 6 inserted into any or all of the multiple through holes 13. This allows the pair of side plates P to maintain the distance (spacing) in the direction along the axis X.

[0037] The hub 3 has a flange body 4 that rotates integrally with the hub 3. As shown in Figure 5, a restricting protrusion 4a formed on the flange body 4 abuts against a contact portion C formed by the first bulging wall 11c and the second bulging wall 12c, and the restricting protrusion 4a abuts against the contact portion C, thereby functioning as a stopper that restricts displacement of the flange body 4. In other words, the restricting protrusion 4a restricts displacement of the flange body 4 by abutting against one or both of the first bulging wall 11c and the second bulging wall 12c.

[0038] 1 to 4, the damper portions D are arranged at positions closer to the axis X than the contact portions C. In other words, as described above, the damper portions D and the contact portions C are arranged at positions overlapping imaginary lines extending radially so as to divide the axis X into a plurality of portions in the circumferential direction (in this embodiment, they are arranged at positions overlapping imaginary lines extending radially).

[0039] The damper section D includes a compression coil type damper spring 21 (an example of a spring), a spring seat 22 that supports both ends of the damper spring 21, and a cushion material 23 housed in the coil section of the damper spring 21.

[0040] In the following description, the damper spring 21, the pair of spring seats 22, and the cushion material 23 may be referred to as the damper unit DU. The cushion material 23 is made of a flexibly deformable buffer material such as rubber or resin. The cushion material 23 deforms when the pair of spring seats 22 approach each other and is sandwiched between them, thereby reducing the impact when the damper section D is activated.

[0041] Although this torque limiter-equipped damper A is provided with cushion materials 23 on two of the damper springs 21, cushion materials 23 may be provided on all or any number of the damper springs 21.

[0042] Each of the first side plate 11 and the second side plate 12 has a damper opening PW at a position offset from the axis X with respect to a plurality of (four in this embodiment) contact portions C as reference points.

[0043] The hub 3 has a flange body 4 that rotates integrally with the hub 3. The flange body 4 has a damper engagement space 4W cut out from the outer periphery, and has a restricting protrusion 4a that protrudes radially outward from the damper engagement space 4W.

[0044] As shown in FIGS. 4 and 5, the damper portion D has a damper unit DU fitted into a plurality of damper openings PW of the first side plate 11 and the second side plate 12 and a plurality of damper engagement spaces 4W of the flange body 4.

[0045] The damper portion D functions to apply the biasing force of the damper spring 21 in the circumferential direction between the flange body 4, which rotates integrally with the hub 3, and the pair of side plates P, thereby maintaining the relative rotational posture of the flange body 4 and the pair of side plates P centered on the axis X.

[0046] As a result, when the load torque acting between the pair of side plates P and the hub 3 is low, the damper section D maintains the relative rotational phase between the pair of side plates P and the flange body 4 at the neutral phase shown in Figure 4 due to the biasing force of the damper spring 21. On the other hand, when the load torque exceeds a preset value, the damper section D absorbs the increase in load torque by compressing the damper spring 21 as shown in Figure 5, causing relative displacement of the flange body 4 and the pair of side plates P about the axis X, thereby eliminating the inconvenience of excessive load torque acting from the pair of side plates P to the hub 3.

[0047] Furthermore, when the load torque increases in this manner, as described above, the limit of relative displacement between the pair of side plates P and the flange body 4 is determined by the contact of the regulating protrusion 4a of the flange body 4 with the contact portion C.

[0048] In addition, in the torque limiter damper A, when the damper spring 21 of the damper unit DU is compressed as the load torque increases and the pair of side plates P and the hub 3 are displaced, the pair of side plates P and the flange body 4 are displaced relative to each other in the hysteresis section H.

[0049] [Hysteresis Portion] As shown in FIGS. 1 to 4, the flange body 4 is fitted into a gear-shaped fitting portion on the outer periphery of the hub 3 and rotates integrally with the hub 3.

[0050] The hysteresis portion H includes a first cylindrical portion 25 , a first friction ring 26 , a second cylindrical portion 27 , a second friction ring 28 , and an annular spring 29 .

[0051] The first cylindrical portion 25 is rotatably fitted onto the outer periphery of the hub 3 on the side where the first side plate 11 is arranged, and the inner periphery of the first side plate 11 comes into contact with this outer periphery.

[0052] The first friction ring 26 is disposed between the flange body 4 and the first side plate 11. The first friction ring 26 has a plurality of first engagement protrusions 26a on its outer surface that engage with engagement portions of the first side plate 11, and the friction surface of the first friction ring 26 contacts the flange body 4.

[0053] The second cylindrical portion 27 is rotatably fitted onto the outer periphery of the hub 3 on the side where the second side plate 12 is arranged, and the inner periphery of the second side plate 12 comes into contact with this outer periphery.

[0054] The second friction ring 28 is disposed between the flange body 4 and the second side plate 12. The second friction ring 28 has a plurality of second engagement protrusions 28a on its outer surface that engage with engagement portions of the second side plate 12, and the friction surface of the second friction ring 28 contacts the flange body 4.

[0055] The annular spring 29 is configured as an annular disc spring centered on the axis X, and is disposed at a position sandwiched between the second side plate 12 and the second friction ring 28 .

[0056] As a result, when the damper section D allows relative displacement in the rotational direction between the pair of side plates P and the flange body 4, the hysteresis section H allows relative rotation between the pair of side plates P and the flange body 4 while maintaining the situation in which frictional force is applied to the flange body 4 from the first friction ring 26 and the second friction ring 28.

[0057] This hysteresis portion H applies an appropriate frictional force between the pair of side plates P and the flange body 4 when the pair of side plates P and the flange body 4 are displaced relative to each other in the rotational direction as the load torque increases. Also, when the load torque decreases and the pair of side plates P and the flange body 4 return to the neutral position due to the biasing force of the damper springs 21 of the damper unit DU, an appropriate frictional force is applied between the pair of side plates P and the flange body 4.

[0058] [Load Torque Limiting Operation] When the load torque is low, the torque limiter damper A restricts slippage of the lining plate 14 relative to the first friction material 15 and the second friction material 19 at the limiter portion T. Similarly, when the load torque is low, the damper portion D prevents relative displacement between the pair of side plates P and the flange body 4 by the biasing force of the four damper springs 21.

[0059] In contrast, when the load torque exceeds a threshold value, the torque limiter damper A allows slippage at the limiter section T and allows compression of the damper spring 21 at the damper section D, thereby causing relative displacement between the pair of side plates P and the flange body 4 around the axis X, thereby limiting the effect of excessive load torque on the travel transmission device TM and the engine.

[0060] The damper portion D absorbs the load torque acting on the engine due to the relative displacement between the pair of side plates P and the flange body 4 about the axis X, and then, as the load torque decreases, the biasing force of the damper spring 21 returns the relative phase between the pair of side plates P and the flange body 4 to the neutral phase shown in Fig. 4. At this time, the hysteresis portion H applies a frictional force to suppress a sudden return.

[0061] [Effects of the embodiment] The torque limiter damper A has a configuration in which a limiter portion T is arranged on the outer periphery of a pair of side plates P (first side plate 11, second side plate 12), and a damper portion D is arranged closer to the center of the side plates P than this limiter portion T.

[0062] This configuration does not require connecting members, etc., and does not require the process of connecting frames, compared to, for example, assembling the limiter section and damper section separately and then integrating them using connecting members such as plate or rod-shaped material to form a damper with a torque limiter.

[0063] The torque limiter damper A fixes the pair of side plates P with rivets 6 so that the multiple contact points C are in contact with each other, so that the gap between the pair of side plates P is prevented from widening even when used over a long period of time, and the gap between the pair of side plates P does not widen in the outer space S1 area.

[0064] The limiter portion T has a disc spring 18 disposed between the first side plate 11 and the pressure plate 17, which applies a biasing force from the pressure plate 17 to the first friction material 15, causing the first friction material 15 to contact the lining plate 14 with a set contact pressure. The limiter portion T also causes the second friction material 19 to contact the lining plate 14.

[0065] When the gap between the first side plate 11 and the second side plate 12 is widened, the limiter portion T may cause inconvenience by reducing the frictional force on the frictional force acting surface R between the first friction material 15 and the second friction material 19, and the frictional force on the frictional force acting surface R between the first friction material 15 and the second friction material 19 and the lining plate 14.

[0066] In response to this, the first bulging walls 11c and the second bulging walls 12c of the multiple contact portions C are connected with rivets 6, thereby restricting the increase in the gap between the pair of side plates P. This prevents a decrease in frictional force at the limiter portion T, and allows appropriate slip when a load torque exceeding a set value is applied.

[0067] The torque limiter-equipped damper A is properly assembled when the abutment surface 14S of the connecting portion 14P of the lining plate 14 abuts against the connected surface of the flywheel 1 and is connected by a plurality of connecting bolts 16. However, it is also possible to assemble the damper A with the surface of the connecting portion 14P opposite to the abutment surface 14S abutting against the flywheel 1 by mistake.

[0068] To prevent such incorrect assembly, a convex front / back identification indicator G is formed on the surface opposite the abutment surface 14S by pressing the connecting portion 14P. This allows the abutment surface 14S of the connecting portion 14P to be properly identified by sight or by touching with the fingers. In addition, if an incorrect assembly is made, the convex portion of the front / back identification indicator G will come into contact with the connected surface of the flywheel 1, causing the connecting portion 14P to float above the connected surface of the flywheel 1, making it possible to recognize the error and prevent the incorrect assembly.

[0069] In the damper portion D, the biasing force of the damper spring 21 always acts on the first side plate 11 and the second side plate 12, which may cause deformation of these plates in the vicinity of the damper opening PW.

[0070] In contrast, the contact portions C are arranged in the vicinity of the four damper openings PW and fixed with the rivets 6, so that deformation of the damper openings PW is suppressed.

[0071] Furthermore, the rivet 6 used in the contact portion C can be inserted through a selection of multiple through holes 13, and by selecting the through hole 13 through which the rivet 6 is inserted, it is also possible to improve the rotational balance of the torque limiter-equipped damper A.

[0072] Other Embodiments The present invention may be configured as follows in addition to the above-described embodiment (common numbers and symbols are used to designate components having the same functions as those in the embodiment).

[0073] (a) The front / back identification indicator G is not limited to the circular concave and convex shapes formed on the connecting portion 14P of the lining plate 14 as shown in the embodiment, but may be formed in any shape, such as an oval or a rectangle. Also, the front / back identification indicator G is not limited to a single one, and multiple indicators may be formed.

[0074] (b) As shown in Figures 6 and 7, the front / back identification indicator G can be formed by bending part of the outer periphery of the connecting portion 14P in the direction opposite to the connected surface of the flywheel 1 and providing a notch. By forming the front / back identification indicator G in this way, if an incorrect assembly is made, the protruding end of the front / back identification indicator G will abut against the connected surface of the flywheel 1, making it possible to quickly detect the error.

[0075] (c) As shown in Fig. 8 , the first friction material 15 and the second friction material 19 are arranged at positions sandwiching the lining plate 14, and fastening members 20 pass through these members to connect the first friction material 15, the second friction material 19 and the lining plate 14, thereby forming a friction action mechanism F of the limiter portion T. Although Fig. 8 shows one fastening member 20, this friction action mechanism F uses a plurality of fastening members 20 arranged on the same or different pitch circumferences along the circumferential direction of the lining plate 14.

[0076] This friction action mechanism F is basically composed of parts common to the limiter portion T described in the embodiment, but the friction force action surface R on which the friction force acts is different from that described in the embodiment. In other words, it is composed of the contact surface between the first friction material 15 and the pressure plate 17, and the contact surface between the second friction material 19 and the second side plate 12.

[0077] The limiter portion T of this alternative embodiment (c) limits the increase in the load torque by generating slippage between the friction force acting surface R between the first friction material 15 and the pressure plate 17 and the friction force acting surface R between the second friction material 19 and the second side plate 12 when the load torque exceeds a threshold value.

[0078] (d) The friction action mechanism F shown in FIGS. 9 and 10 is configured such that the first friction material 15 and the second friction material 19 are disposed at positions sandwiching the lining plate 14, and are fixed to the lining plate 14, as in the alternative embodiment (a) described above. However, the configuration for fixing the first friction material 15 and the second friction material 19 to the lining plate 14 differs from that of the alternative embodiment (c).

[0079] The limiter portion T of this alternative embodiment (d) is different in that, as shown in FIG. 9, the plurality of fastening members 20 fastening the first friction material 15 to the lining plate 14 is different from the plurality of fastening members 20 fastening the second friction material 19 to the lining plate 14, as shown in FIG. 10.

[0080] 11, as in the embodiment, a protrusion 17T formed on the pressure plate 17 engages with a hole formed in the first friction material 15, thereby preventing rotation and positioning in the radial direction. In contrast, the second friction material 19 is fastened and fixed to the lining plate 14 by a fastening member 20.

[0081] With this configuration, the friction force acting surface R on which the friction force acts is made up of the contact surface between the first friction material 15 and the lining plate 14 and the contact surface between the second friction material 19 and the second side plate 12. In this alternative embodiment (e), the pressure plate 17 and the first friction material 15 may be fastened and fixed together using rivets, screws, or the like.

[0082] (f) In the friction action mechanism F shown in Fig. 12, similarly to the embodiment, the second friction material 19 is prevented from rotating and positioned in the radial direction by a protrusion 12T formed on the second side plate 12 engaging with a hole formed in the second friction material 19. Meanwhile, the lining plate 14 and the second friction material 19 are connected by a fastening member 20 that passes through them.

[0083] With this configuration, the friction force acting surface R on which the friction force acts is made up of the contact surface between the first friction material 15 and the pressure plate 17 and the contact surface between the second friction material 19 and the lining plate 14. In this alternative embodiment (f), the second friction material 19 and the second side plate 12 may be fastened and fixed together using rivets, screws, or the like.

[0084] (g) The drive transmission device TM is not limited to a gear-type transmission, but may include a device having a torque converter or a device having a belt CVT.

[0085] (h) In the limiter portion T, a leaf spring or a torsion spring may be used as the biasing member that applies the frictional force.

[0086] (i) The number of contact portions C is not limited to four, and may be any number. That is, the contact portions C may be configured to bulge over the entire circumferential direction (a 360-degree area) of the pair of side plates P (first side plate 11, second side plate 12). Alternatively, the number may be set to three or less, or five or more.

[0087] (j) The spacing between the pair of side plates P (first side plate 11, second side plate 12) is set to different values outside and inside the contact portion C. By setting the spacing in this manner, it is possible to easily obtain a spacing that corresponds to the size of the limiter portion T and the damper portion D.

[0088] Furthermore, the configurations disclosed in the above embodiments (including other embodiments, the same applies below) can be applied in combination with configurations disclosed in other embodiments, as long as no contradictions arise. Furthermore, the embodiments disclosed in this specification are examples, and the embodiments of the present invention are not limited to these, and can be modified as appropriate within the scope that does not deviate from the purpose of the present invention.

[0089] The above-described embodiment may include the following configuration: (1) A torque limiter-equipped damper A limits transmission of driving force from an internal combustion engine of a vehicle to a driving force transmission device TM when a load torque acting on the driving force transmission device TM from the internal combustion engine of the vehicle exceeds a threshold value, the torque limiter damper A including a pair of side plates P spaced apart in a direction along an axis X of an input shaft 2 of the driving force transmission device TM, a friction-type limiter unit T housed in a space S1 between the pair of side plates P on the radial outside of the pair of side plates P and slipping when the load torque exceeds the threshold value, and a damper unit D arranged in an area of the pair of side plates P closer to the axis X than the limiter unit T and absorbing the transmission of the driving force by elastic deformation of a spring (damper spring 21) as the load torque increases, the pair of side plates P having a contact portion C where opposing opposing surfaces contact each other at a radial midpoint between the limiter unit T and the damper unit D.

[0090] For example, it is conceivable to construct a torque limiter-equipped damper by assembling the limiter portion and the damper portion separately and integrating them using a connecting member such as a plate or rod. However, such a configuration using a connecting member may increase the number of parts and the assembly process. In contrast, in the present configuration, the limiter portion T is accommodated on the radially outer side of the pair of side plates P, and the damper portion D is disposed on one of the pair of side plates P radially inward of the limiter portion T. This eliminates the need for a connecting member and a connecting process. Furthermore, by forming a contact portion C in which the opposing surfaces of the pair of side plates P contact each other at a radially intermediate position between the limiter portion T and the damper portion D, the disadvantage of the gap between the pair of side plates P becoming excessively narrow can be suppressed. In particular, in this configuration, since the pair of side plates P includes the limiter portion T and the damper portion D, a dedicated structure for transmitting torque to the limiter portion T and the damper portion D is not required.

[0091] (2) In the torque limiter-equipped damper A of (1), it is preferable that the opposing surfaces of the contact portion C at the intermediate position are connected by a rivet 6.

[0092] According to this configuration, the rivet 6 restricts the displacement of the pair of side plates P in the direction of moving them apart, so that even if a force acts in the limiter portion T in a direction that increases the spacing between the pair of side plates P, the spacing between the pair of side plates P will not increase.

[0093] (3) In the torque limiter damper A of (1) or (2), it is preferable that the limiter portion T has an annular lining plate 14 fixed to the driving rotor (flywheel 1) to which the driving force of the internal combustion engine is transmitted and rotatable around the axis X, friction materials 15, 19 arranged between each of the pair of side plates P and the lining plate 14 and fixed to one of the side plates P or the lining plate 14, a biasing member (disc spring 18) that brings the friction materials 15, 19 into contact with the other of the side plate P or the lining plate 14, and a pressure plate 17 arranged between the biasing member (disc spring 18) and one of the friction materials 15.

[0094] With this configuration, the biasing force of the biasing member (disc spring 18) is transmitted from the pressure plate 17 to the friction material 15, causing the friction material 15 to come into contact with the pressure plate 17 at a set contact pressure, thereby obtaining the required frictional force. Furthermore, because the space S1 that opens outward is formed at the radially outer periphery of the pair of side plates P, when assembling the torque limiter-equipped damper A, the work of accommodating the friction material 15, pressure plate 17, and biasing member (disc spring 18) in this space S1 can be easily performed, and maintenance of the components of the limiter section T can also be easily performed.

[0095] (4) In the torque limiter-equipped damper A of (3), the lining plate 14 has a plate-shaped connecting portion 14P on its outer periphery that connects to the driving rotor (flywheel 1), and it is preferable that the connecting portion 14P has a front / back identification indicator G formed thereon that indicates the contact surface 14S when connecting to the driving rotor (flywheel 1).

[0096] With this configuration, when connecting and fixing the connecting portion 14P on the outer periphery of the lining plate 14 to the driving rotor (flywheel 1), it is possible to confirm the front and back of the connecting portion 14P by visually checking the front and back identification indicator G or by touching it with a finger, thereby eliminating the possibility of incorrect installation of the torque limiter-equipped damper A to the driving rotor (flywheel 1).

[0097] The present disclosure can be used for a damper with a torque limiter.
