[0048] Hereinafter, preferred embodiments of the present disclosure will be described in detail with reference to the attached drawings. The configuration of the device and the control method described below are only intended to illustrate embodiments of the present disclosure and are not intended to limit the scope of the present disclosure. Reference numerals used throughout the specification represent identical components.

[0049] Certain terms used in this specification are for convenience of explanation only and are not intended to limit the illustrated embodiments.

[0050] Fig. 1 is an example of a transfer crane (500). Also, Fig. 2 is another example of a transfer crane (500).

[0051] Referring to FIGS. 1 and 2, the transport crane (500) can transport battery cells (200) in the chemical reaction process and introduce or remove them into a processing room (910) located in a battery chemical reaction device (900) used in the chemical reaction process. The transport crane (500) may also be referred to as a stacker crane or a battery transport device.

[0052] The above-mentioned transport crane (500) can transport the manufactured battery cell (200) to the target processing room (910) to proceed with the chemical process, and can also transport the processed battery cell (200) to another battery chemical device or the next process within the chemical process.

[0053] The above-mentioned transfer crane (500) can be used in a battery formation device (900) within a chemical process. For example, the battery formation device (900) can be a charging / discharging device that charges / discharges a manufactured battery cell (200) to provide electrical characteristics, or an aging device that stores the battery cell (200) at a constant temperature and humidity.

[0054] The above processing room (910) may be a charging / discharging room that accommodates a battery cell (200) to perform the charging / discharging process or an aging room that accommodates a battery cell (200) to perform the aging process.

[0055] The above battery formation device (900) may include a plurality of processing rooms (910). A plurality of processing rooms (910) arranged horizontally may be referred to as a processing rack (920). In addition, the plurality of processing rooms (910) may also be stacked vertically.

[0056] Meanwhile, in the above-described Mars process, the transfer crane (500) may not individually move the battery cells (200) as a single unit, but may move the battery cells (200) as a single unit, including a transfer member (190, or tray) that accommodates multiple battery cells (200). The transfer crane (500) may also move the transfer member (190) into or out of the processing room (910).

[0057] Referring to FIGS. 1 and 2, the transfer crane (500) may include a carriage (100) that forms a receiving space (101, see FIG. 2) for receiving a battery cell (200) therein, and a first inlet (111, see FIG. 2) that communicates with the receiving space (101).

[0058] The carriage (100) can form the receiving space (101). The receiving space (101) can accommodate a plurality of battery cells (200). The plurality of battery cells (200) can be stacked along the height direction of the carriage (100) in the receiving space (101) or can be stacked along the front-back direction of the carriage (100).

[0059] In order to stack along the front-back direction of the carriage (100), the transfer crane (500) may further include a transfer member (190, or tray) detachably provided in the receiving space (101). The transfer member (190) may detachably fix a plurality of battery cells (200) therein to transport the plurality of battery cells (200).

[0060] In addition, in order to stack along the height direction of the carriage (100), the transfer crane (500) can place the transfer member (190) along the height direction of the carriage (100) in the receiving space (101). The transfer member (190) is placed in the receiving space (101) by the transfer unit (450) described later, and can be moved along the front-back direction of the carriage (100) through the first inlet (111) and the second inlet (112, see FIG. 3) described later.

[0061] Referring to FIGS. 1 and 2, the carriage (100) may include a carriage front (110) that includes the first inlet (111) at the front and forms the front of the carriage (100), a carriage rear (170) that is positioned at the rear of the carriage (100) to face the carriage front (110) and includes the second inlet (112), a carriage side (150) that forms both side surfaces of the carriage (100) and connects the carriage front (110) and the carriage rear (170), and a carriage upper surface (130, see FIG. 3) that connects the carriage front (110), the carriage rear (170), and the carriage side (150) and forms the upper surface of the carriage (100).

[0062] As with the carriage front (110) and the carriage rear (170), the first inlet (111) and the second inlet (112) may be provided to face each other. Accordingly, the first inlet (111) and the second inlet (112) may be connected to the receiving space (101). The battery cell (200) may be introduced into or taken out of the receiving space (101) through the first inlet (111). Similarly, the battery cell (200) may be introduced into or taken out of the receiving space (101) through the second inlet (112).

[0063] Meanwhile, the processing room (910) may be formed in a form in which multiple layers are stacked using a transfer member (190). Accordingly, the transfer crane (500) may require a transport unit (not shown) to move the battery cell (200) to the target processing room (910) and to introduce the battery cell (200) into the processing room (910) or to take it out from the processing room (910).

[0064] Referring to FIGS. 1 and 2, the transfer crane (500) or the transport unit may include a first travel unit (410) that moves the carriage (100) in a direction parallel to the front surface (110) of the carriage, a second travel unit (430) that moves the carriage (100) along the height direction of the carriage (100), and a transfer unit (450) that can move along the front-back direction of the carriage (100) to introduce or withdraw the battery cell (200) into or from the receiving space (101).

[0065] That is, the movement directions of the first driving unit (410), the second driving unit (430), and the transfer unit (450) may be different from each other. For example, if the first driving unit (410) moves the carriage (100) in a direction parallel to the first inlet (111) or the second inlet (112), the second driving unit (430) may move the carriage (100) along the height direction of the carriage (100). In addition, the transfer unit (450) may move the battery cell (200) accommodated inside the carriage (100) along the front-back direction of the carriage (100). Through this, the transfer crane (500) may be able to move to an arbitrary position in three-dimensional space.

[0066] Referring to FIGS. 1 and 2, the transfer crane (500) further includes a driving rail (415) provided in a direction parallel to the first inlet (111), and the first driving unit (410) can move the carriage (100) along the driving rail (415).

[0067] That is, the driving rail (415) can be arranged parallel to the processing rack (920).

[0068] To this end, the first driving unit (410) may further include a first driving motor (4101) that generates rotational force and a first driving wheel (413) that rotates by the rotation of the first driving motor (4101).

[0069] Likewise, the transfer crane (500) may further include a mast (435) positioned outside the carriage (100) and extending along the height direction of the carriage (100).

[0070] The second driving unit (430) can move the carriage (100) along the mast (435). The second driving unit (430) may further include a second driving motor (4301) that generates rotational force, a cable (4303) that is connected to the second driving motor (4301) and supported by the mast (435), and a second driving wheel (433, see FIG. 3) that rotates by the second driving motor (4301) and winds or unwinds the cable (4303).

[0071] In contrast, the second driving wheel (433) may be provided in a gear shape, and the cable (4303) may be in the form of a chain wound around gear teeth provided on the outer surface of the second driving wheel (433). That is, regardless of the mechanism by which it operates, the second driving unit (430) can move the carriage (100) along the height direction of the carriage (100) like a kind of hoist.

[0072] The upper limit of the height direction movement of the carriage (100) will be determined by the height of the mast (435). This may ultimately vary depending on the height of the battery storage device (900).

[0073] Meanwhile, the transport unit (450) can move along the forward and backward direction of the carriage (100) to bring in or take out the battery cell (200) located in the receiving space (101) from the outside. That is, the transport unit (450) can move the battery cell (200) into the receiving space (101) or take it out from the receiving space (101) through the first inlet (111) or the second inlet (112).

[0074] To this end, the transport unit (450) may further include a transport motor (not shown) that generates rotational force and a fork unit (451, see FIG. 3) that moves along the forward and backward direction of the carriage (100) according to the rotation of the transport motor.

[0075] The above-mentioned transfer unit (450) may further include a transfer rail (4501, see FIG. 3) provided inside the carriage (100) to guide the movement of the fork unit (451). The fork unit (451) may move the battery cell (200) or the transfer member (190) in the forward and backward direction of the carriage (100) along the transfer rail (4501).

[0076] In general, in order to move multiple battery cells (200) at once, the fork portion (451) may contact the outside of the transfer member (190) to move the transfer member (190).

[0077] If the transfer member (190) is provided in multiple units along the height direction of the carriage (100) in the receiving space (101), the transfer unit (450) may also be provided in multiple units corresponding thereto. In this case, the transfer crane (500) may be able to simultaneously move the battery cell (200) to two different processing rooms (910) via the transfer unit (450).

[0078] In this specification, the movement of the battery cell (200) or the transfer member (190) containing the battery cell (200) to a specific processing room (910) by the transfer crane (500) means that the battery cell (200) moves along the horizontal and vertical directions of the battery formation device (900) using the first driving unit (410) and the second driving unit (430) to a position corresponding to the specific processing room (910). That is, the carriage (100) faces the specific processing room (910), and means a state in which the transfer member (450) can move between the interior of the processing room (910) and the receiving space (101) without any interference.

[0079] Thereafter, the transfer crane (500) will move the battery cell (200) loaded in the receiving space (101) or the transfer member (190) containing the battery cell (200) to the specific processing room (910) via the transfer unit (450), or move the battery cell (200) located in the specific processing room (910) or the transfer member (190) containing the battery cell (200) from the specific processing room (910) to the receiving space (101).

[0080] Meanwhile, referring to FIG. 2, the transfer crane (500) may include a crane control unit (600) located outside the carriage (100) to control the movement of the transfer crane (500) and the carriage fire extinguisher (650, see FIG. 3). However, this is merely an example, and the crane control unit (600) may be located in a different location as long as it can control the movement of the transfer crane (500) and the carriage fire extinguisher (650). Alternatively, the transfer crane (500) may be controlled by a system control unit (1600, see FIG. 4) to be described later.

[0081] In addition, the crane control unit (600) can control the movement of the first driving unit (410) and the second driving unit (430) for the movement of the carriage (100). That is, the crane control unit (600) can control the movement of the carriage (100) by controlling the rotation of the first driving motor (4101) and the second driving motor (4301).

[0082] Meanwhile, referring to FIG. 2, the crane control unit (600) is provided on the outside of the carriage (100) and can be protected by a box-shaped housing. In addition, the crane control unit (600) can control an input / output unit (680) provided in the housing to receive user input and output the status of the transport crane or the processing result of the input command to the user.

[0083] In addition, the crane control unit (600) can control the carriage fire extinguishing unit (650, see FIG. 3). When a fire occurs in the receiving space (101), the crane control unit (600) can spray a fire extinguishing agent (G, see FIG. 5) into the receiving space (101) through the carriage fire extinguishing unit (650).

[0084] Meanwhile, in order to minimize damage to the battery manufacturing system (1000, see FIG. 6) including the transfer crane (500) and the battery formation device (900), the fire extinguishing agent (G) may be a non-flammable gas such as nitrogen, argon, or carbon dioxide, or a solid aerosol.

[0085] In addition, referring to FIGS. 3 and 5, the crane control unit (600) can control the carriage fire detection unit (610) that detects fire in the receiving space (101) and the crane shielding unit (700) that blocks the receiving space (101) from the outside when a fire occurs.

[0086] FIG. 3 is an example of a carriage (100) that accommodates a battery cell (200, see FIG. 1).

[0087] As described above, the carriage (100) can accommodate a battery cell (200) or a transport member (190) in which the battery cell (200) is detachably accommodated in the accommodation space (101).

[0088] Meanwhile, a fire may occur in the battery cell (200) during transport of the battery cell. Since a fire in the battery cell (200) may easily spread due to the characteristics of the battery cell (200), it is important to quickly extinguish a fire that occurs during transport of the battery cell (200) or to prevent the fire from spreading. In order to extinguish a fire that occurs in the receiving space (101) or to prevent the fire from spreading to the outside, the transport crane (500) may include a carriage fire extinguishing unit (650) that is positioned on the upper surface (130) of the carriage and can spray a fire extinguishing agent (G, see FIG. 5) toward the receiving space (101) when a fire occurs.

[0089] In addition, the above-mentioned transfer crane (500) may include a first blocking screen (710, see FIG. 5) for closing the first inlet (111) in the event of a fire. The first blocking screen (710) is described later using FIG. 5.

[0090] Specifically, the above-described transfer crane (500) may include a through hole (not shown) formed by penetrating the carriage top surface (130) or the carriage side surface (150), and a carriage fire extinguishing unit (650) that sprays a fire extinguishing agent (G) through the through hole.

[0091] Referring to FIG. 3, the carriage extinguishing unit (650) is arranged to be sprayed through the carriage upper surface (130), but this is only an example.

[0092] Referring to FIG. 3, the carriage front (110) may include a front upper panel portion (1101) located above the first inlet (111), a front lower panel portion (1103) located below the first inlet (111), and a front side panel portion (1105) connecting the front upper panel portion (1101) and the front lower panel portion (1103).

[0093] In addition, the same applies to the carriage rear (170, see Fig. 2). That is, the carriage rear (170) may include a rear upper panel portion (not shown) located above the second inlet (112), a rear lower panel portion (not shown) located below the second inlet (112), and rear side panel portions (not shown) located on both sides of the second inlet (112) and connecting the rear upper panel portion and the front lower panel portion.

[0094] In addition, referring to FIGS. 2 and 3, the crane control unit (600) can control the transport unit (450) to introduce the battery cell (200) into the receiving space (101) or to withdraw it from the receiving space (101). The transport unit (450) may include a transport motor (not shown) that generates a rotational force, a fork unit (451, see FIG. 3) that moves in the forward and backward direction of the carriage (100) through the first inlet (111) or the second inlet (112) according to the rotation of the transport motor, and a transport rail (4501, see FIG. 3) that is arranged along the forward and backward direction of the receiving space (101) to guide the fork unit (451). The crane control unit (600) may control the movement of the fork unit (451) by controlling the rotation of the transport motor.

[0095] Figure 4 is an example of a block diagram related to the control of a battery manufacturing system (1000, see Figure 6).

[0096] A battery manufacturing system (1000) according to the present disclosure may include a battery formation device (900) and a transfer crane (500) for introducing or removing a battery cell (200, see FIG. 1) into or from the battery formation device (900), a moving belt unit (1500) for connecting the transfer crane (500) to another process, a fire box (800) located outside the battery formation device (900) for storing a battery cell (200) that catches fire during transport by the transfer crane (500) or during accommodation in the battery formation device (900), and a system control unit (1600) for controlling the battery formation device (900), the transfer crane (500), the fire box (800), and the moving belt unit (1500).

[0097] The above system control unit (1600) may directly control the battery storage device (900), the transfer crane (500), the fire box (800), and the moving belt unit (1500) individually, or the battery storage device (900), the transfer crane (500), the fire box (800), and the moving belt unit (1500) may be electrically connected to each control unit (not shown) so that the battery storage device (900), the transfer crane (500), the fire box (800), and the moving belt unit (1500) may exchange control signals with each control unit, thereby indirectly controlling the battery storage device (900), the transfer crane (500), the fire box (800), and the moving belt unit (1500).

[0098] For example, the crane control unit (600, see FIG. 2) that controls the transfer crane (500) can control the transport unit (not shown) including the first travel unit (410), the second travel unit (430), and the transfer unit (450). In addition, the crane control unit (600) can control the carriage fire detection unit (610, see FIG. 5), the carriage fire extinguishing unit (650, see FIG. 3), and the crane shielding unit (700, see FIG. 5).

[0099] Figure 5 is an example of a crane shield.

[0100] Specifically, FIG. 5 is an example of a front view of the carriage (100) with the first barrier (710) closing the first inlet (111).

[0101] Referring to FIG. 5, the transfer crane (500) may include a first roller (720) that is positioned above the first inlet (111) inside the carriage (100) and is rotatably provided, and a first blocking screen (710) that is wound around the first roller (720) and opens and closes the first inlet (111) according to the rotation of the first roller (720).

[0102] In addition, the transfer crane (500) may further include a second roller (not shown) that is positioned and rotatably provided above the second inlet (112, see FIG. 3) inside the carriage (100), and a second blocking screen (not shown) that is wound around the second roller and opens and closes the second inlet (112) according to the rotation of the second roller.

[0103] Referring to FIGS. 4 and 5, the system control unit (1600) can control the crane shield (700) to block the receiving space (101) from the outside. More specifically, the system control unit (1600) can be controlled through the crane control unit (600, see FIG. 2) provided in the transfer crane (500).

[0104] In addition, referring to FIGS. 4 and 5, the system control unit (1600) can detect the occurrence of smoke or temperature in the receiving space (101) through the crane control unit (600), and when the occurrence of fire in the receiving space (101) is detected through the carriage fire detection unit (610), the first roller (720) can unroll the first barrier (710) to close the first inlet (111).

[0105] Likewise, when a fire occurs in the receiving space (101), the system control unit (1600) can close the second inlet (112) by unscrewing the second barrier from the second roller. As described above, in this specification, the second barrier and the second roller are identical in function and form to the first barrier (710) and the first roller (720), and only differ in position, so a detailed description thereof is omitted.

[0106] That is, the description of the first blocking film (710) and the first roller (720) will also apply to the second blocking film and the second roller unless otherwise specified.

[0107] Meanwhile, the system control unit (1600) can determine whether a fire has occurred in the accommodation space (101) through the carriage fire detection unit (610).

[0108] The above carriage fire detection unit (610) may include a carriage smoke sensor (6101) located on the inner side of the receiving space (101) and detecting smoke in the receiving space (101).

[0109] When smoke is detected in the above-mentioned receiving space (101), the crane control unit (600) can operate the crane shield (700) and the carriage fire extinguishing unit (650).

[0110] In contrast, the carriage fire detection unit (610) may include a carriage temperature sensor (6103) that detects the temperature of the receiving space (101). When the carriage temperature sensor (6103) detects that the temperature of the receiving space (101) rises above a preset temperature gradient per unit time or reaches a temperature higher than an allowable temperature, the crane control unit (600) may operate the crane shield (700) and the carriage fire extinguishing unit (650).

[0111] Alternatively, the carriage fire detection unit (610) may include a carriage camera (6105) that photographs the accommodation space (101). Specifically, the carriage camera (6105) may photograph the battery cell (200) accommodated in the accommodation space (101). The crane control unit (600) may determine whether a fire has occurred through the carriage camera (6105). For this purpose, the transfer crane (500) may utilize a vision method. Alternatively, the carriage camera (6105) may be a thermal imaging camera that detects infrared rays.

[0112] Considering that records of movement and temperature are kept in case of a fire, the carriage fire detection unit (610) may preferably be a thermal imaging camera.

[0113] In addition, the above-mentioned transfer crane (500) can determine whether a fire has occurred due to a battery cell (200, see FIG. 1) in the above-mentioned receiving space (101) by combining at least two of the above-mentioned carriage smoke sensor (6101), the above-mentioned carriage temperature sensor (6103) and the above-mentioned carriage camera (6105).

[0114] Referring to FIG. 5, the crane shield (700) may include a first blocking screen (710) that blocks the first inlet (111), a first roller (720) that winds the first blocking screen (710), and a rotation support part (721) that rotatably supports the first roller (720).

[0115] When the above transfer crane (500) operates normally, the first barrier (710) is wrapped around the first roller (720), so that the first inlet (111) can be open.

[0116] When the above-mentioned transport crane (500) transports a battery cell (200), if a fire occurs in the battery cell (200), the crane control unit (600) can close the first inlet (111) by unscrewing the first blocking film (710) from the first roller (720).

[0117] For this purpose, the transfer crane (500) may further include a blocking motor (723) that rotates the first roller (720).

[0118] Meanwhile, the area of the first blocking film (710) may be larger than the area of the first inlet (111) in order to close the first inlet (111). More specifically, the length of the first blocking film (710) along the height direction of the carriage (100) may be larger than the height of the first inlet (111). The width of the first blocking film (710) along the left-right direction of the carriage (100) may be larger than the width of the first inlet (111).

[0119] Meanwhile, the front lower panel portion (1103) may include an insertion groove (1103a) into which one end of the first blocking film (710) is inserted when the first blocking film (710) closes the first inlet (111). This is to ensure that the first blocking film (710) guides the first blocking film (710) to close the first inlet (111) when the first blocking film (710) closes the first inlet.

[0120] Likewise, the front side panel portion (1105) may further include a guide portion (not shown) that guides the first blocking film (710) when the first blocking film (710) is lowered. Alternatively, the front side panel portion (1105) may further include a guide groove in the form of a groove or hole into which both ends of the first blocking film (710) are inserted in the width direction of the first blocking film (710).

[0121] The above guide portion and / or the guide groove may help the first blocking film (710) to adhere to the first inlet (111) when the first inlet (111) is closed. This structure may also be applied to the rear surface (170) of the carriage where the second blocking film is located.

[0122] Meanwhile, the first barrier film (710) may be a sheet made of heat-resistant or fire-retardant material.

[0123] Additionally, the first barrier (710) may be a fire screen made of a rollable material.

[0124] That is, the first barrier (710) may be a fire shutter that closes the first inlet (111) when a fire occurs in the receiving space (101).

[0125] The shape and material of the first blocking film (701) as described above will be applied equally to the second blocking film.

[0126] Referring to FIG. 5, at least a portion of the carriage extinguishing unit (650) may be located on the carriage upper surface (130) or the carriage side surface (150).

[0127] The above carriage fire extinguishing unit (650) may include a tank unit (6502) that supplies a fire extinguishing agent (G), for example, a non-combustible gas or solid aerosol, a nozzle unit (6501) that is located on the inner side of the receiving space (101) and sprays the fire extinguishing agent (G) stored in the tank unit (6502) into the receiving space, and a pipe unit (6503) that connects the tank unit (6502) and the nozzle unit (6501).

[0128] FIG. 5 schematically illustrates the structure and position of the carriage extinguishing unit (650) for understanding, and the tank unit (6502) may be positioned spaced apart from the outside of the carriage (100) in consideration of the weight of the tank unit (6502). Alternatively, as illustrated in FIG. 3, the tank unit (6502) may be positioned on one side of the carriage (100). That is, a part of the tank unit (6502) may be exposed to the outside of the carriage (100), and another part of the tank unit (6502) may be inserted into the carriage (100) toward the receiving space (101).

[0129] In other words, at least a portion of the tank portion (6502) may be located outside the carriage (100).

[0130] That is, at least a part of the nozzle part (6501) may be inserted into the inner surface of the receiving space (101) and exposed to the receiving space (101) in order to spray the extinguishing agent (G) into the receiving space (101) through the inner surface of the receiving space (101).

[0131] The above tank part (6502) is located on the outside of the carriage (100), and the nozzle part (6501) and the tank part (6502) can be connected by a pipe part (6503). A valve (not shown) is provided on the pipe part (6503) or the tank part (6502), so that the crane control part (600) can control whether the carriage fire extinguishing part (650) sprays by controlling the valve.

[0132] In addition, the pipe portion (6503) may be formed of a flexible material. This is to simplify the size and position of the tank portion (6502) and the connection with the nozzle. In order for the pipe portion (6503) to connect between the tank portion (6502) and the nozzle portion (6501), the carriage (100) may further include a through hole (not shown) penetrating one surface of the carriage (100).

[0133] When the direction in which the above-mentioned fire extinguishing agent (G) is sprayed is considered, the carriage fire extinguishing unit (650) may be located at least on one of the carriage side surface or the carriage upper surface (130). Alternatively, the through hole may be located on the carriage upper surface (130) and / or the carriage side surface (150).

[0134] Meanwhile, the extinguishing agent (G) may be sprayed in the form of a solid aerosol or gas. The extinguishing agent (G) is stored in the tank (6502) as a solid or liquid, and may change into the form of a solid aerosol or gas when sprayed.

[0135] Specifically, the fire extinguishing agent may include a solid aerosol or non-combustible gas that releases potassium radicals when sprayed.

[0136] For example, the fire extinguishing agent (G) may operate by spraying a solid aerosol containing potassium radicals into the receiving space (101) to block the chemical chain reaction of fire.

[0137] A solid aerosol is a mixture of solid particles and gaseous substances with a diameter of 10 micrometers (㎛) or less that exerts a fire extinguishing effect. Generally, the solid aerosol is stored in the tank (6502) in the form of another mixture, and can be sprayed by self-combustion when sprayed to generate a solid aerosol.

[0138] As another example, the fire extinguishing agent (G) may include a non-combustible gas. A non-combustible gas is a gas that does not combust on its own and does not have the property of causing combustion of other substances, and refers to a gas that is not related to combustion.

[0139] For example, the non-combustible gas may refer to an inactive gas such as water vapor (H2O), nitrogen (N2), carbon dioxide (CO2), helium (He), and argon (Ar). Meanwhile, another example of the non-combustible gas includes chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) such as Freon gas.

[0140] Considering the operating temperature and environmental pollution of the battery cell (200) accommodated in the carriage (100), preferably, the non-combustible gas may be one selected from the group including nitrogen, argon, helium, and carbon dioxide, or a combination thereof.

[0141] The reason for using the solid aerosol or non-flammable gas mentioned above is that it is not only harmless to the human body, but also does not cause damage to equipment, such as corrosion. In other words, it will be possible to prevent contamination by fire extinguishing agents in buildings or equipment where the above-mentioned transfer crane (500) is used.

[0142] Figure 6 is an example of a battery manufacturing system (1000).

[0143] FIG. 6 schematically illustrates the battery manufacturing system according to the present disclosure for better understanding before explaining the control method of the battery manufacturing system. Referring to FIG. 6, the battery manufacturing system (1000) according to the present disclosure may include a battery formation device (900), a transfer crane (500) for introducing or removing a battery cell (200, see FIG. 1) into or from the battery formation device (900), a moving belt unit (1500) for connecting the transfer crane (500) to another process, and a fireproof box (800) located outside the battery formation device (900) for storing a battery cell (200) that catches fire during transport by the transfer crane (500) or during accommodation in the battery formation device (900).

[0144] The above-described battery formation device (900) may be formed by stacking the aforementioned processing racks (920, see FIG. 1). Considering that the battery cells (200) are mass-produced in a factory, the battery formation devices (900) may be provided in multiple units. The battery manufacturing system (1000) may further include a running rail (415) extending parallel to the plurality of battery formation devices (900) between the plurality of battery formation devices (900).

[0145] As described above, the transfer crane (500) can move parallel to the battery storage device (900) along the driving rail (415).

[0146] The above fireproof box (800) may be positioned apart from one side of the battery formation device (900). The fireproof box (800) may form a fireproof space (830) that accommodates a battery cell (200) that has caught fire during the formation process to extinguish it.

[0147] The above fireproof box (800) may include an entrance (810) of the fireproof box formed by opening at least a portion of one side thereof, and a fireproof space (830) located inside. The fireproof space (830) may accommodate the battery cell (200) or a transport member (190) containing the battery cell (200) through the entrance (810) of the fireproof box.

[0148] In addition, the fire box (800) may further include a fire shutter (815) that opens and closes the entrance (810) of the fire box to prevent the spread of fire.

[0149] In addition, the fire box (800) may further include a box fire extinguishing unit (850) that sprays a fire extinguishing agent into the fire space (830). The box fire extinguishing unit (850) may be spaced apart from the outside of the fire box (800) or may be located on the outside surface. The box fire extinguishing unit (850) may inject the fire extinguishing agent (G) stored in the box fire extinguishing unit (850) into the fire space (830) through a nozzle located on the inside surface of the fire space (830).

[0150] The above-described transfer crane (500) can move the battery cell (200) in which a fire has occurred to the fireproof box (800) by the system control unit (1600, see FIG. 4). Specifically, the transfer crane (500) will move in front of the entrance (810) of the fireproof box and move the battery cell (200) in which a fire has occurred or the transfer member (190) that accommodates the battery cell (200) in which a fire has occurred to the fireproof space (830) through the transfer unit (450).

[0151] The above fire box (800) may be installed at a corresponding location for each of the plurality of battery manufacturing devices (900). This is to urgently move the battery cell (200) in which a fire has occurred using the transfer crane (500). This is because it takes time to remove the battery cell (200) in which a fire has occurred from the workroom where the battery manufacturing system (1000) is located to the outside.

[0152] The above battery storage device (900) may include a processing room fire detection unit (915) for detecting whether a fire occurs in a battery cell (200) accommodated in each processing room (910).

[0153] The above-mentioned processing room fire detection unit (915) may be located on the inner side of the processing room (910) and may be any one or a combination of a smoke sensor (not shown) that detects smoke, a temperature sensor (not shown) that detects temperature, or a camera (not shown) that photographs the interior. In particular, the camera may be a thermal imaging camera that photographs the temperature distribution within the processing room (910).

[0154] Considering that records of movement and temperature are kept in case of a fire, the processing room fire detection unit (915) may preferably be a thermal imaging camera.

[0155] If a fire occurs in the processing room (910), the system control unit (1600) will move the transfer crane (500) to the processing room (910) to move the battery cell (200) in which the fire occurred or the transfer member (190) that accommodates the battery cell (200) in which the fire occurred to the receiving space (101). The system control unit (1600) can confirm a fire in the battery cell (200) through the carriage fire detection unit (610) in the receiving space (101), and then primarily extinguish the fire using the carriage fire extinguishing unit (650), and then move the extinguished battery cell (200) to the fire box (800).

[0156] Meanwhile, considering the range of movement of the above-mentioned transfer crane (500), the fire box (800) that can be used by the transfer crane (500) for moving the battery cell (200) in which the fire has occurred will be the fire box (800) positioned between the travel rail (415) of the transfer crane (500) for moving the battery cell (200) in which the fire has occurred.

[0157] Additionally, the number of battery cells (200) that can be accommodated in the fire-fighting space (830) may be limited. Therefore, considering limited fire-fighting resources, the battery manufacturing system (1000) will require a control method or fire-fighting method that can efficiently handle a fire in the battery cells (200).

[0158] For example, if only two battery cells can be accommodated in the fire box (800), the number of battery cells (200) that can be processed using the transfer crane (500) and the fire box (800) accessible to the transfer crane (500) may be four. This is because the number of fire boxes (800) accessible to each transfer crane (500) is two.

[0159] For example, if only N battery cells can be accommodated in the fire box (800) and there are M fire boxes accessible to the transfer crane (500), the number of battery cells (200) that can be processed using the transfer crane (500) and the fire boxes (800) accessible to the transfer crane (500) may be (M × N).

[0160] Meanwhile, the fireproof space (830) formed in the fireproof box (800) may be provided with multiple fireproof spaces that accommodate one battery cell, or multiple battery cells may be accommodated in one fireproof space (830).

[0161] Accordingly, if a fire occurs in the battery cells (200) exceeding the number of battery cells (200) that can be processed, the system control unit (1600) will inevitably have to move the excess battery cells (200) to a preset target area (Targeted Area, TA) separated from the battery manufacturing system (1000).

[0162] For example, the target location (TA) may be a room separate from the room where the battery storage device (900) is located.

[0163] In order to move the battery cell (200) to the target location (TA), the transfer crane (500) can move the battery cell (200) in which the fire occurred or the transfer member (190) that accommodates the battery cell (200) in which the fire occurred to a preset location (PL) on a moving belt member (1500) toward the target location (TA).

[0164] Figure 7 is a flowchart illustrating an example of a control method of a battery manufacturing system (1000).

[0165] Figures 7 to 9 described below illustrate flowcharts of a control method for the battery manufacturing system (1000) according to the present disclosure. Specifically, they relate to a fire extinguishing method for responding to a fire that occurs in a battery cell (200) manufactured using the battery manufacturing system (1000).

[0166] Specifically, FIG. 7 is a control method of a battery manufacturing system in the event of a fire occurring in the battery cell (200) while transporting the battery cell (200) or the transport member (190) containing the battery cell through the transport crane (500).

[0167] The control method of the battery manufacturing system (1000) according to the present disclosure comprises the steps of: receiving the first transfer member (not shown), which is the transfer member (190) containing the battery cell (200), in the receiving space (101) and moving through the transfer crane (500), detecting the occurrence of fire in the battery cell (200) by the carriage fire detection unit (610) in the receiving space (S110); spraying the fire extinguishing agent (G) stored in the carriage fire extinguishing unit (650) located outside the carriage (100) and storing the fire extinguishing agent (G) toward the receiving space (101) by the carriage fire extinguishing unit (650) (S130); and forming a fireproof space (830) located apart from the processing room (910) and containing the battery cell (200) in which a fire has occurred. It may include a step (S150) of moving the transfer crane (500) to the fire box (800), and a step (S170) of moving the first transfer member to the fire space (830) through the transfer crane (500) to extinguish the fire.

[0168] Typically, a battery manufacturing system (1000) used in a Mars process can move multiple battery cells (200) at once using a transfer member (190) that can detachably fix the battery cells (200), rather than moving the battery cells (200) individually. This is to increase production efficiency. In the present disclosure, moving the battery cells (200) may also mean moving the transfer member that accommodates the battery cells (200).

[0169] In addition, in this specification, in order to distinguish between the transfer member (190) that accommodates the battery cell in which a fire occurs while being moved by the transfer crane (500) and the transfer member (190) in which a fire occurs while charging / discharging or aging is performed in the processing room (910), the names first transfer member and second transfer member are used, respectively. Therefore, the first transfer member and the second transfer member are transfer members of the same size and shape, and the only difference is where the fire in the initial battery cell occurred.

[0170] FIG. 7 shows that while the battery cell (200) is being moved using the transfer crane (500), the carriage fire detection unit (610) can detect (S110) the occurrence of a fire in the battery cell (200). If the carriage fire detection unit (610) is a thermal imaging camera, it can detect a temperature change in one area among the entire area captured by the thermal imaging camera. Based on this, the system control unit (1600) can detect that a fire has occurred in the receiving space (101).

[0171] In this specification, occurrence of a fire in a battery cell (200) may not only mean that smoke or flames are detected in the battery cell (200), but may also mean that the battery cell (200) goes beyond the allowable normal temperature range.

[0172] In order to quickly extinguish a fire in a battery cell (200) being transported by the above-described transport crane (500), the above-described transport crane (500) may include a carriage fire extinguishing unit (650) located outside the carriage and spraying a fire extinguishing agent (G) into the receiving space (101). Accordingly, the control method according to the present disclosure may perform a step (S130) of spraying the fire extinguishing agent (G) stored in the carriage fire extinguishing unit (650) toward the receiving space (101) from the carriage fire extinguishing unit (650) located outside the carriage (100) and storing the fire extinguishing agent (G).

[0173] Through this, it will be possible to minimize the impact of a fire in the battery cell (200) on the battery storage device (900) or other devices.

[0174] In order to completely extinguish or discard a fire in the battery cell (200), during or after spraying the fire extinguishing agent stored in the carriage fire extinguishing unit (650), the control method according to the present disclosure may include a step (S150) of moving the transfer crane (500) to a fire box (800) that is located apart from the processing room (910) and forms a fire space (830) that accommodates the battery cell (200) in which a fire has occurred, and a step (S170) of moving the first transfer member to the fire space (830) via the transfer crane (500) to extinguish the fire.

[0175] The step (S170) of moving to the fire prevention space (830) and extinguishing the fire may include a step (S171) of moving the first transfer member to the fire prevention space (830) through the transfer crane (500), and then closing the entrance (810) of the fire prevention box (800) by the fire shutter (815) that opens and closes the fire prevention box.

[0176] By closing the entrance (810) of the fire box with the above fire shutter (815), fire and smoke from the fire box (800) can be prevented from spreading to the outside. In addition, it will be possible to minimize contamination of the battery manufacturing system (1000), including the battery formation device (900) and the transfer crane (500), due to leakage of the fire extinguishing agent (G) sprayed thereafter.

[0177] Thereafter, the step (S150) of moving to the fire prevention space (830) and extinguishing the fire may further include a step (S175) of spraying the fire extinguishing agent (G) stored in the box fire extinguishing unit (850) toward the fire prevention space (830) from the box fire extinguishing unit (850) located outside the fire box (800) and storing the fire extinguishing agent (G).

[0178] After the entrance (810) of the fire box is closed to separate the outside from the fire space (830), the control method of the present disclosure operates the box fire extinguishing unit (850) to spray the fire extinguishing agent (G) toward the fire space (830) to extinguish the fire in the battery cell (200).

[0179] Figure 8 is a flowchart illustrating another example of a control method of a battery manufacturing system (1000).

[0180] Specifically, FIG. 8 illustrates an example of a control method related to a case in which a fire in a battery cell (200) that occurred while moving with the above-mentioned transfer crane (500) is dealt with, and then a fire in a battery cell (200) that occurred in the above-mentioned processing room (910) is dealt with again.

[0181] First, all the steps illustrated in FIG. 7 can be referred to as a step (S100) for handling a fire in a battery cell (200) being transported by the transport crane (500). Accordingly, FIG. 8 illustrates an example of a control method in the event of a fire occurring in another battery cell (200) located in the processing room (910) during or after performing the step (S100) for handling a fire in a battery cell (200) being transported by the transport crane (500).

[0182] Referring to FIG. 8, during or after performing the step (S100) of handling a fire in a battery cell (200) being transported by the transport crane (500), the control method according to the present disclosure may further include a step (S200) of moving the battery cell (200) in which a fire has occurred in the processing room (910) by using the transport crane (500).

[0183] Specifically, the step (S200) of moving the battery cell (200) in which a fire has occurred in the processing room (910) via the transfer crane (500) may further include the step (S175) of spraying the fire extinguishing agent (G) stored in the box extinguishing unit (850) toward the fire prevention space (830), or during the step (S210) of the processing room fire detection unit (915) detecting a fire in the battery cell (200) accommodated in the processing room (910), the step (S230) of moving the transfer crane (500) to the processing room (910) where the fire has been detected, and the step (S250) of moving the second transfer member (190) that accommodates the battery cell (200) via the transfer crane (500) from the processing room (910) where the fire has been detected to the accommodation space (101).

[0184] That is, the control method according to the present disclosure is to move the battery cell (200) in which the fire has occurred from the processing room (910) to the receiving space (101) by moving the transfer crane (500) in order to prevent the fire from spreading to the processing room (910) and the battery cell (900) including the battery cell (200) when a fire occurs in the battery cell (200) located in the processing room (910). Since the transfer crane (500) includes a carriage fire extinguishing unit (650), the fire in the battery cell (200) can be extinguished early through the transfer crane (500).

[0185] In the step (S250) of moving the second transport member from the processing room (910) to the receiving space (101), the control method according to the present disclosure can close the first inlet (111) and the second inlet (112) to isolate the receiving space (101).

[0186] Specifically, in the step (S250) of moving the second transfer member from the processing room (910) to the receiving space (101), the control method according to the present disclosure can, after moving the second transfer member to the receiving space (101), open and close the first inlet (111) formed on one side of the carriage (100) and the second inlet (112) formed on one side facing the one side of the carriage, respectively, by the first blocking film (710) and the second blocking film (not shown), so as to keep the first inlet (111) and the second inlet (112) closed.

[0187] After the step (S200) of moving the battery cell (200) in which a fire occurred in the above processing room (910) using a transfer crane (500) has elapsed, the control method according to the present disclosure may further include a step (S300) of reconfirming the fire in the receiving space (101).

[0188] Specifically, the step (S300) of reconfirming a fire in the receiving space (101) may further include a step (S250) of moving the second transport member from the processing room (910) to the receiving space (101), a step (S310) of detecting a fire in the battery cell (200) accommodated in the second transport member through the carriage fire detection unit (610), and a step (S350) of spraying a fire extinguishing agent (G) stored in the carriage fire extinguishing unit (650) toward the receiving space (101) based on the detection of a fire in the battery cell (200) accommodated in the second transport member through the carriage fire detection unit (610).

[0189] The step (S310) of detecting a fire in the battery cell (200) accommodated in the second transfer member through the carriage fire detection unit (610) is to once again confirm the fire in the battery cell (200) detected as a fire through the processing room fire detection unit (915). If it is determined that the fire in the battery cell (200) is currently in progress as a result of confirming the fire in the battery cell (200) through the carriage fire detection unit (610), the control method according to the present disclosure can perform the step (S350) of spraying the fire extinguishing agent (G) stored in the carriage fire extinguishing unit (650) toward the accommodation space (101).

[0190] In contrast, if it is determined that the fire has already been extinguished or is determined to be erroneous, the control method according to the present disclosure may skip the step (S350) of spraying the fire extinguishing agent (G) stored in the carriage extinguishing unit (650) toward the receiving space (101) and proceed to the continuous fire handling step (S400) described later.

[0191] Referring to FIG. 8, after the step (S300) of reconfirming the fire in the receiving space (101) has passed, the control method according to the present disclosure can perform a continuous fire processing step (S400) of processing a battery cell (200) in which a fire has occurred by the processing room fire detection unit (915).

[0192] The control method according to the present disclosure can first extinguish a battery cell in which a fire has occurred using the transfer crane (500), and then move the battery cell (200) in which the fire has been extinguished to the fire box (800). However, as described above, if a fire occurs continuously in the battery cell (200), the fire box (800) will no longer be able to accommodate other battery cells (200). The continuous fire handling step (S400) is a step that takes this situation into consideration.

[0193] The above continuous fire treatment step (S400) may include, after the step (S350) of spraying the fire extinguishing agent (G) stored in the carriage extinguishing unit (650) toward the receiving space (101), a step (S410) of checking whether the second transport member containing the battery cell (200) can be inserted into the fire prevention space (830), and a step (S430, S420) of moving the second transport member containing the battery cell (200) to the fire prevention space or a predetermined set position based on whether the second transport member containing the battery cell (200) can be inserted into the fire prevention space (830).

[0194] Specifically, the control method of the present disclosure may include a step (S430) of moving the transfer crane (500) to the fire box (800) when it is determined that there is a space capable of accommodating the second transfer member containing the battery cell (200) in the fire space (830) (S410), and a step (S420) of moving the transfer crane (500) to the set position (PL) when it is determined that there is not enough space capable of accommodating the second transfer member containing the battery cell (200) in the fire space (830) (S410).

[0195] In the step (S430) of moving the above-mentioned transfer crane (500) to the above-mentioned fire box (800) and the step (S420) of moving the above-mentioned transfer crane (500) to the above-mentioned set position (PL), since the above-mentioned transfer crane (500) is moved, the second transfer member that accommodates the above-mentioned battery cell (200) loaded in the above-mentioned receiving space (101) will still be accommodated in the above-mentioned transfer crane (500).

[0196] Referring to FIG. 8, after the step (S430) of moving the transfer crane (500) to the fire box (800), the control method according to the present disclosure may proceed with the step (S450) of moving the second transfer member containing the battery cell (200) located in the receiving space (101) to the fire space (830) via the transfer crane (500); and the step (S470) of spraying the fire extinguishing agent (G) stored in the box extinguishing unit (850) into the fire space (830).

[0197] Before performing the step (S470) of spraying the fire extinguishing agent (G) stored in the box extinguishing unit (850) into the fire prevention space (830), the control method according to the present disclosure may control the fire shutter (815) to close the entrance (810) of the fire prevention box (S450). This is to block the fire prevention space (830) from the outside.

[0198] Meanwhile, after the step (S420) of moving the transfer crane (500) to the set position (PL), the control method according to the present disclosure may proceed with the step (S440) of unloading the second transfer member containing the battery cell (200) from the receiving space (101) to the set position (PL); and the step (S460) of waiting before moving the second transfer member containing the battery cell (200) from the set position (PL) to the preset target location (TA).

[0199] When the fireproof space (830) can no longer accommodate the battery cell (200), the control method according to the present disclosure can move the battery cell (200) to the set position (PL) on the moving belt unit (1500) (S440) in order to take the battery cell (200) out. To this end, the control method according to the present disclosure can make the battery cell (200) standby (S460) before moving it to the target location (TA) via the moving belt unit (1500).

[0200] Figure 9 is a flowchart illustrating another example of a control method of a battery manufacturing system (1000).

[0201] Specifically, FIG. 9 illustrates an example of a control method related to a case where a fire occurs in a battery cell (200) located in the processing room (910) and is treated, and then a fire occurs again in another battery cell (200) located in the processing room (910).

[0202] Referring to FIG. 9, the control method according to the present disclosure may include a step (S10) of handling a fire in a battery cell (200) located in the processing room (910), a step (S30) of confirming a fire in a battery cell (200) moved to the receiving space (101), and a continuous fire handling step (S40). This may correspond to the step (S200) of moving a battery cell (200) in which a fire occurred in the processing room (910) of FIG. 8 using a transfer crane (500), a step (S300) of reconfirming a fire in the receiving space (101), and the continuous fire handling step (S400), respectively.

[0203] That is, the only difference is whether the fire started in the battery cell (200) being moved by the above-mentioned transfer crane (500) or in the battery cell (200) located in the above-mentioned processing room (910).

[0204] In the step (S10) of handling a fire in a battery cell (200) located in the above-described processing room (910), the control method according to the present disclosure may include a step (S11) of the processing room fire detection unit (915) detecting a fire in the battery cell (200) accommodated in the processing room (910), a step (S15) of moving the transfer crane (500) to the processing room (910) where the fire is detected, and a step (S19) of moving the transfer member (190) that accommodates the battery cell (200) from the processing room (910) where the fire is detected to the accommodation space (101) via the transfer crane (500).

[0205] This may correspond to the step (S210) in which the processing room fire detection unit (915) illustrated in FIG. 8 detects a fire in the battery cell (200) accommodated in the processing room (910), the step (S230) in which the transfer crane (500) is moved to the processing room (910) where the fire is detected, and the step (S250) in which the second transfer member (190), which is the transfer member that accommodates the battery cell (200), is moved from the processing room (910) where the fire is detected to the accommodation space (101) via the transfer crane (500). Therefore, repetitive explanations are omitted.

[0206] Meanwhile, in the step (S30) of confirming a fire in the battery cell (200) moved to the accommodation space (101), the control method according to the present disclosure may include a step (S19) of moving the battery cell (200) to the accommodation space (101), a step (S31) of detecting a fire in the battery cell (200) accommodated in the transport member (190) through a carriage fire detection unit (610) that detects a fire in the battery cell (200) in the accommodation space (101), and a step (S35) of spraying a fire extinguishing agent (G) stored in the carriage fire extinguishing unit (650) located outside the carriage (100) and storing the fire extinguishing agent (G) toward the accommodation space (101) based on the detection of a fire in the battery cell (200) accommodated in the transport member (190) through the carriage fire detection unit (610). there is.

[0207] The step (S31) of detecting a fire in the battery cell (200) accommodated in the transport member (190) through the carriage fire detection unit (610) is to once again confirm the fire in the battery cell (200) detected as a fire through the processing room fire detection unit (915). If it is determined that the fire in the battery cell (200) is currently in progress as a result of confirming the fire in the battery cell (200) through the carriage fire detection unit (610), the control method according to the present disclosure can perform the step (S35) of spraying the fire extinguishing agent (G) stored in the carriage fire extinguishing unit (650) toward the accommodation space (101).

[0208] In contrast, if it is determined that the fire has already been extinguished or is determined to be erroneous, the control method according to the present disclosure may skip the step (S35) of spraying the fire extinguishing agent (G) stored in the carriage extinguishing unit (650) toward the receiving space (101) and proceed to the continuous fire handling step (S400) described later.

[0209] The above continuous fire handling step (S40) may include, after the step (S35) of spraying the fire extinguishing agent (G) stored in the carriage extinguishing unit (650) toward the receiving space (101), a step (S41) of checking whether the transport member (190) containing the battery cell (200) can be inserted into the fire prevention space (830), and a step (S43, S42) of moving the transport member (190) containing the battery cell (200) to the fire prevention space or a predetermined set position based on whether the transport member (190) containing the battery cell (200) can be inserted into the fire prevention space (830).

[0210] Specifically, the control method of the present disclosure may include a step (S43) of moving the transfer crane (500) to the fire box (800) when it is determined (S41) that there is a space in the fire space (830) that can accommodate the transfer member (190) in which the battery cell (200) is accommodated, and a step (S42) of moving the transfer crane (500) to the set position (PL) when it is determined (S41) that there is not enough space in the fire space (830) in which the transfer member (190) in which the battery cell (200) is accommodated.

[0211] In the step (S43) of moving the above-mentioned transfer crane (500) to the above-mentioned fire box (800) and the step (S42) of moving the above-mentioned transfer crane (500) to the above-mentioned set position (PL), since the above-mentioned transfer crane (500) is moved, the transfer member (190) that accommodates the above-mentioned battery cell (200) loaded in the above-mentioned receiving space (101) will still be accommodated in the above-mentioned transfer crane (500).

[0212] Referring to FIG. 9, after the step (S43) of moving the transfer crane (500) to the fire box (800), the control method according to the present disclosure may proceed with the step (S45) of moving the transfer member (190) containing the battery cell (200) located in the receiving space (101) to the fire space (830) via the transfer crane (500); and the step (S47) of spraying the fire extinguishing agent (G) stored in the box extinguishing unit (850) into the fire space (830).

[0213] Before performing the step (S47) of spraying the fire extinguishing agent (G) stored in the box extinguishing unit (850) into the fire prevention space (830), the control method according to the present disclosure may control the fire shutter (815) to close the entrance (810) of the fire prevention box (S45). This is to block the fire prevention space (830) from the outside.

[0214] Meanwhile, after the step (S42) of moving the transfer crane (500) to the set position (PL), the control method according to the present disclosure may proceed with the step (S44) of unloading the transfer member (190) containing the battery cell (200) from the receiving space (101) to the set position (PL); and the step (S46) of waiting before moving the transfer member (190) containing the battery cell (200) from the set position (PL) to the preset target location (TA).

[0215] When the fireproof space (830) can no longer accommodate the battery cell (200), the control method according to the present disclosure can move the battery cell (200) to the set position (PL) on the moving belt unit (1500) (S44) in order to take the battery cell (200) out. To this end, the control method according to the present disclosure can make the battery cell (200) standby (S46) before moving it to the target location (TA) via the moving belt unit (1500).
