AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Existing noise canceling technologies often fail to completely remove ambient noise, leading to compromised sound quality and user discomfort when trying to listen to targeted audio content.

Method used

An electronic device that assesses the quality of a target audio signal by measuring surrounding sound, determines whether to receive a source audio signal from an external server based on this quality, and synthesizes a synthetic audio signal by combining the target audio signal with a reversal signal to enhance sound quality.

Benefits of technology

The solution effectively improves sound quality by ensuring that only high-quality target audio signals are processed, reducing the impact of ambient noise and enhancing the overall listening experience.

Abstract

This electronic device may comprise: a memory; a communication interface for communicating with an external server; and at least one processor including a processing circuit, wherein the at least one processor can obtain audio data for ambient sound, obtain a preset type of target audio signal from the audio data, obtain sound quality information about the target audio signal, transmit the target audio signal to the external server through the communication interface if the sound quality information is not greater than or equal to a threshold grade, receive, from the external server through the communication interface, a source audio signal corresponding to the target audio signal, identify a playback time point of the source audio signal on the basis of the target audio signal, and provide, on the basis of the playback time point, a synthesized audio signal obtained by synthesizing the source audio signal and an inversion signal corresponding to the audio data.
