AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Existing communication technologies face challenges in reliably managing physical sidelink feedback channel (PSFCH) transmissions and receptions, particularly when channel access procedures fail and there is overlap between transmission and reception sets in the time domain.

Method used

A terminal device is configured to determine whether to perform PSFCH transmissions or receptions based on the success of channel access procedures and priority values, switching to PSFCH receptions if all transmission-related channel access procedures fail and receptions provide HARQ-ACK information.

Benefits of technology

This approach enhances the reliability of PSFCH communications by ensuring that the device can adapt and prioritize transmissions and receptions effectively, even in scenarios where initial channel access fails.

Abstract

Embodiments of the present disclosure provide a solution for transmissions of physical sidelink feedback channel (PSFCH). In a solution, a terminal device determines to perform a first set of physical sidelink feedback channel (PSFCH) transmissions, and in accordance with a determination that channel access procedures associated with all the PSFCH transmissions that provide hybrid automatic repeat request-acknowledgement (HARQ-ACK) information in the first set are failed and one or more PSFCH receptions in a second set of PSFCH receptions provide HARQ-ACK information, switches to perform at least one PSFCH reception in the second set, wherein the first set of PSFCH transmissions at least partially overlaps with the second set of PSFCH receptions in time domain.

Description

DEVICES AND METHODS FOR COMMUNICATION

[0001] FIELDS

[0002] Example embodiments of the present disclosure generally relate to the field of communication techniques and in particular, to devices and methods for physical sidelink feedback channel (PSFCH) transmissions and receptions.BACKGROUND

[0003] Wireless communication networks are widely deployed and can support various types of service applications for terminal devices. Many communication schemes have been proposed to support the rapidly increasing data traffic. For example, a sidelink (SL) communication scheme has been proposed, where SL channels may be established between terminal devices in the wireless communication network and the terminal devices may exchange signalling and data with each other directly via the established SL channels. Sidelink communication may be understood as direct device-to-device communication as proposed for example in specifications for cellular communication.

[0004] In the scenario where the SL communication is performed in licensed spectrum without shared spectrum channel access and in unlicensed spectrum with shared spectrum channel access, the devices transmit SL control information associated with SL data on a physical sidelink control channel (PSCCH) , and transmit the SL data on a physical sidelink shared channel (PSSCH) based on the SL control information. Further, in order to ensure the reliability of the SL transmission, it is specified that the physical sidelink feedback channel (PSFCH) is used to carry hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) feedback information from the receiving device to the transmitting device or to carry a conflict indication for an inter-UE coordination (IUC) scheme.SUMMARY

[0047] It is to be understood that the number of devices and their connections shown in FIG. 1 are only for the purpose of illustration without suggesting any limitation. The communication environment 100 may include any suitable number of terminal devices and network devices configured to implement example embodiments of the present disclosure.

[0048] The communications in the communication environment 100 may conform to any suitable standards including, but not limited to, Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM) , Long Term Evolution (LTE) , LTE-Evolution, LTE-Advanced (LTE-A) , New Radio (NR) , Wideband Code Division Multiple Access (WCDMA) , Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) , GSM EDGE Radio Access Network (GERAN) , Machine Type Communication (MTC) and the like. The embodiments of the present disclosure may be performed according to any generation communication protocols either currently known or to be developed in the future. Examples of the communication protocols include, but not limited to, the first generation (1G) , the second generation (2G) , 2.5G, 2.75G, the third generation (3G) , the fourth generation (4G) , 4.5G, the fifth generation (5G) communication protocols, 5.5G, 5G-Advanced networks, or the sixth generation (6G) networks.

[0049] Generally speaking, the terminal device 110 (or the terminal device 120) is operated in half-duplex mode. That is, the terminal device 110 (or the terminal device 120) does not support performing receiving and transmitting PSFCH (s) at the same time.

[0050] When there are a first set of PSFCH transmissions and second set of PSFCH receptions which overlap in time domain, the terminal device 110 may perform a prioritization procedure based on a prioritization rule to decide whether to perform the first set of PSFCH transmissions only or second set of PSFCH receptions only to avoid half-duplex issue. Additionally, the above procedure firstly only considers PSFCH with HARQ-ACK information. If there is no PSFCH with HARQ-ACK information, the PSFCH with conflict information may be considered.

[0051] Moreover, when the terminal device 110 intends to transmit a set of PSFCH transmissions, if the total PSFCH transmission number or transmit power exceeds  limitation (s) of the terminal device 110, the terminal device 110 may perform a prioritization procedure based on a prioritization rule to determine to drop parts of the PSFCH transmissions to fulfill the limitation.

[0052] In case of simultaneous PSFCH transmission / reception, for a PSFCH transmission or reception with HARQ-ACK information, a priority value for the PSFCH is equal to the priority value indicated by an SCI format 1-A associated with the PSFCH. Further, for PSFCH transmission with conflict information, a priority value for the PSFCH is equal to the smallest priority value determined by the corresponding SCI format (s) 1-A for the conflicting resource (s) , and for PSFCH reception with conflict information, a priority value for the PSFCH is equal to the priority value determined by the corresponding SCI format 1-A for the conflicting resource.

[0053] Examples of PSFCH transmission / reception 200A to 200C are illustrated in FIGS. 2A to 2C.

[0054] In some cases, a UE would transmit Nsch, Tx, PSFCHPSFCHs and receive Nsch, Rx, PSFCH PSFCHs, and transmissions of the Nsch, Tx, PSFCH PSFCHs would overlap in time with receptions of the Nsch, Rx, PSFCH PSFCHs.

[0055] In this event, the terminal device 110 may transmit or receive only a set of PSFCHs corresponding to the smallest priority field value, as determined by a first set of SCI format 1-A and / or a second set of SCI format 1-A that are respectively associated with PSFCHs with HARQ-ACK information from the Nsch, Tx, PSFCH PSFCHs and PSFCHs with HARQ-ACK information from the Nsch, Rx, PSFCH PSFCHs when one or more of the PSFCHs provide HARQ-ACK information.

[0056] If none of the Nsch, Tx, PSFCH PSFCHs and none of the Nsch, Rx, PSFCH PSFCHs provide HARQ-ACK information, the terminal device 110 may transmit or receive only a set of PSFCHs corresponding to the smallest priority value of the first set of PSFCHs and the second set of PSFCHs that are respectively associated with the Nsch, Tx, PSFCH PSFCHs and the Nsch, Rx, PSFCH PSFCHs when the PSFCHs provide conflict information.

[0057] If the terminal device 110 would transmit Nsch, Tx, PSFCH PSFCHs in a PSFCH transmission occasion, the terminal device 110 may first transmit PSFCHs with HARQ-ACK information from NTx, PSFCH PSFCHs corresponding to the smallest priority field values from the NTx, PSFCH priority field values, if any. Subsequently, the terminal device  may transmit remaining PSFCHs with conflict information corresponding to the smallest remaining priority field values from the NTx, PSFCH priority field values, if any.

[0058] If a terminal device indicates a capability to receive NRx, PSFCH PSFCHs in a PSFCH reception occasion, the terminal device 110 may first receive PSFCHs with HARQ-ACK information, if any, and subsequently receive PSFCHs with conflict information, if any.

[0059] The PSFCH transmission may be performed only in case that the related channel access procedure is successful on at least one of the associated RB sets within the resource pool.

[0060] In release 18, some of the PSFCH transmissions may occur listen before talk (LBT) failure (i.e., channel access failure) .

[0061] When performing PSFCH transmissions, below two transmission schemes may be adopted: a first scheme where each PSFCH transmission occupies 1 common interlace and K3 dedicated physical resource block (s) and a second scheme where each PSFCH transmission occupies 1 dedicated interlace. Further, it has been agreed that sidelink inter-UE coordination Scheme 2 (conflict indication) at least for sl-PSFCH-Occasion = '0' uses the same transmission scheme and common interlace index for conflict indication and HARQ-ACK within the same resource block (RB) set are the same in the first scheme mentioned.

[0062] For PSFCH transmission (TX)  / reception (RX) or TX / TX prioritization, priority value of PSFCH TX for a resource conflict indication is the smallest priority value of the conflicting transport blocks (TBs) , priority value of PSFCH RX for a resource conflict indication is priority value indicated by sidelink control information (SCI) of the terminal device. Further, for PSFCH TX / RX or TX / TX prioritization between SL HARQ-ACK feedback (s) and resource conflict indication (s) , PSFCH TX / RX for SL HARQ-ACK feedback is always prioritized over PSFCH TX / RX for a resource conflict indication.

[0063] Example procedures for transmitting PSFCH with control information are discussed as below.

[0064] The terminal device 110 may be indicated by an SCI format scheduling a PSSCH reception to transmit a PSFCH with HARQ-ACK information in response to the PSSCH reception. The terminal device may provide HARQ-ACK information that includes ACK or NACK, or only NACK.

[0065] The terminal device 110 may be provided, by sl-PSFCH-Period, a number of slots in a resource pool for a period of PSFCH transmission occasion resources. If the number is zero, PSFCH transmissions from the UE in the resource pool are disabled.

[0066] A UE can be enabled, by sl-InterUE-CoordinationScheme2, to transmit a PSFCH with conflict information in a resource pool. The UE can determine, based on an indication by a SCI format 1-A, a set of resources that includes one or more slots and resource blocks that are reserved for PSSCH transmission. If the UE determines a conflict for a reserved resource for PSSCH transmission, the UE provides conflict information in a PSFCH.

[0067] The terminal device 110 may expect that a slot  (0≤k<T′max) has a PSFCH transmission occasion resource if k mod where T′max is a number of slots that belong to the resource pool within 10240 msec, and is provided by sl-PSFCH-Period. The terminal device 110 may be indicated by higher layers to not transmit a PSFCH that includes HARQ-ACK information in response to a PSSCH reception.

[0068] If the terminal device 110 receives a PSSCH in a resource pool and the HARQ feedback enabled / disabled indicator field in an associated SCI format 2-A / 2-B / 2-C has value 1, the terminal device 110 may provide the HARQ-ACK information in a PSFCH transmission in the resource pool. For operation without shared spectrum channel access, the terminal device 110 may transmit the PSFCH in a first slot that includes PSFCH resources and is at least a number of slots, provided by sl-MinTimeGapPSFCH, of the resource pool after a last slot of the PSSCH reception.

[0069] For operation with shared spectrum channel access, the terminal device 110 may attempt to transmit the PSFCH over a number of first slots, provided by sl-candidatePSFCH-Occasions, that include PSFCH resources and are at least a number of slots, provided by sl-MinTimeGapPSFCH, of the resource pool after a last slot of the PSSCH reception. The terminal device 110 may attempt to transmit PSFCH in a slot only when the UE fails to transmit PSFCH associated with the PSSCH in all previous slots for PSFCH within the slots.

[0070] For operation with shared spectrum channel access, when sl-PSFCH-Type = ‘type1’ and within RB-set k, the terminal device 110 may determine, based on sl-PSFCH-RB-Set, all PRBs of an interlace for one PSFCH transmission with HARQ-ACK information in the resource pool. For the n-th candidate PSFCH transmission occasion,  the terminal device 110 may determine a set of interlaces that includes a number of interlaces based on sl-PSFCH-RB-Set. The set of interlaces are indexed in an ascending order of interlace indexes. For each interlace of the set of interlaces, all PRBs in the interlace are available for PSFCH transmission. For a number of sub-channels in RB-set k and a number of PSSCH slots that is not larger than and is associated with a slot for PSFCH transmission, the terminal device 110 may allocate the  interlaces from the  interlaces to slot j and sub-channel j, where The allocation starts in an ascending order of i and continues in an ascending order of j. The terminal device 110 may expect that is a multiple of

[0071] For operation with shared spectrum channel access, when sl-PSFCH-Type = ‘type2’ and within RB-set k, the terminal device 110 may determine a subset of PRBs in a first interlace and, based on sl-PSFCH-RB-Set, a subset of PRBs in a second interlace for a PSFCH transmission with HARQ-ACK information in a resource pool. An index of the first interlace is provided by sl-PSFCH-Type2-CommonInterlace. The PRBs in the second interlace are provided by sl-PSFCH-Type2-DedicatedPRB where, for the n-th candidate PSFCH transmission occasion,  and for each interlace l, the terminal device 110 may determine PRBs based on sl-PSFCH-RB-Set. The terminal device 110 may expect that is a multiple of For interlace l, the terminal device 110 may determine a PRB subset with index s to include PRBs  The terminal device 110 may determine the PRB subsets by ordering the PRB subsets first in an ascending order of PRB subset index within an interlace and second in ascending order of interlace index. For a number of sub-channels in RB-set k and a number of slots for PSSCH transmissions that is not larger than and is associated with a slot for PSFCH transmission, the terminal device 110 may allocate the  PRB subsets from the PRB subsets to slot i among the slots for PSSCH transmissions that are associated with the slot and sub-channel j for PSFCH  transmissions, where and The allocation starts in an ascending order of i and continues in an ascending order of j. The terminal device 110 may expect that is a multiple of

[0072] The second OFDM symbol l′ of PSFCH transmission in a slot is defined as l′= sl-StartSymbol+sl-LengthSymbols-2.

[0073] For operation with shared spectrum channel access and for the n-th candidate PSFCH transmission occasion, the terminal device 110 may determine a number of PSFCH resources available for multiplexing HARQ-ACK or conflict information in a PSFCH transmission as where is a number of cyclic shift pairs for the resource pool provided by sl-NumMuxCS-Pair and, based on an indication by sl-PSFCH-CandidateResourceType:

[0074] ● if sl-PSFCH-CandidateResourceType is indicated as startSubCH,  and the interlaces or PRB subsets are associated with the lowest sub-channel index within the RB-set with smallest index of the corresponding PSSCH;

[0075] ● if sl-PSFCH-CandidateResourceType is indicated as allocSubCH,  and where the sum is over all RB-sets including resources for the corresponding PSSCH, and the combinations of interlaces and RB-sets or PRB subsets are associated with the sub-channels of the corresponding PSSCH;

[0076] ● for conflict information, the corresponding PSSCH is determined based on sl-PSFCH-Occasion.

[0077] The PSFCH resources are first indexed according to an ascending order of the interlace or PRB subset index, second according to an ascending order of the RB-set index, and then according to an ascending order of the cyclic shift pair index from the cyclic shift pairs. The terminal device 110 may apply cyclic prefix (CP) extension to the first symbol of a PSFCH and within the first one or two symbols before the first symbol of the PSFCH according to an index provided by sl-CP-Extension-PSFCH.

[0078] The terminal device 110 may determine an index of a PSFCH resource for a PSFCH transmission with HARQ-ACK information in response to a PSSCH reception or with conflict information corresponding to a reserved resource as where PID is a physical layer source ID provided by SCI format 2-A / 2-B / 2-C scheduling the PSSCH reception, or by SCI format 2-A / 2-B / 2-C with corresponding SCI format 1-A reserving the resource from another terminal device to be provided with the conflict information. For HARQ-ACK information, MID is the identity of the UE receiving the PSSCH as indicated by higher layers if the UE detects a SCI format 2-A with Cast type indicator field value of "01" ; otherwise, MID is zero. For conflict information, MID is zero.

[0079] For operation with shared spectrum channel access, when sl-PSFCH-Type = ‘type2’ , a PRB s1 in the first interlace is excluded from the resources for a PSFCH transmission, if |s1-s2|≤5 for μ=0 or |s1-s2|≤2 for μ=1 for any PRB s2 in the PRB subset when the PRB subset is selected for PSFCH transmission, and (shigh-slow) ≥88 for μ= 0 or (shigh-slow) ≥44 for μ=1, where PRB shigh and PRB slow are the largest and smallest PRB indexes, respectively, in the resources for the PSFCH transmission assuming PRB s1 is excluded.

[0080] For a PSFCH transmission with HARQ-ACK information or conflict information, the terminal device 110 may determine a m0 value, for computing a value of cyclic shift α, from a cyclic shift pair index corresponding to a PSFCH resource index and from  using Table 1.

[0081] Table 1: Set of cyclic shift pairs

[0082] For a PSFCH transmission with HARQ-ACK information, the terminal device 110 may determine a mcs value, for computing a value of cyclic shift α, as in Table 2 (i.e.,  mapping of HARQ-ACK information bit values to a cyclic shift, from a cyclic shift pair, of a sequence for a PSFCH transmission when HARQ-ACK information includes ACK or NACK) if the terminal device 110 detects a SCI format 2-A with Cast type indicator field value of "01" or "10" or a SCI format 2-C, or as in Table 3 (i.e., mapping of HARQ-ACK information bit values to a cyclic shift, from a cyclic shift pair, of a sequence for a PSFCH transmission when HARQ-ACK information includes only NACK) if the terminal device 110 detects a SCI format 2-B or a SCI format 2-A with Cast type indicator field value of "11" . For a PSFCH transmission with conflict information, the terminal device 110 may determine a mcs value for computing a value of cyclic shift α as in Table 4 (i.e., mapping of conflict information bit values to a cyclic shift, from a cyclic shift pair, of a sequence for a PSFCH transmission) . The terminal device 110 may apply one cyclic shift from a cyclic shift pair to a sequence used for the PSFCH transmission.

[0086] The terminal device 110 may determine a further terminal device 120 for providing the conflict information to in a PSFCH as follows:

[0087] ● if the terminal device 110 is an intended receiver of the further terminal device 120 for a reserved resource of a PSSCH transmission in a slot,

[0099] ● determines the first SCI format 1-A and the second SCI format 1-A are not received later than sl-MinTimeGapPSFCH before the PSFCH occasion for conflict information,

[0100] ● determines to transmit to the second UE the PSFCH with the conflict information,

[0101] ● determines to transmit to either the second UE or another terminal device 120 the PSFCH with the conflict information, if p2=p1.

[0102] The terminal device 110 may be provided conditions by sl-OptionForCondition2-A-1 to determine conflict of reserved resources in a resource pool:

[0103] ● if sl-OptionForCondition2-A-1 = '0' , the terminal device 110 maybe provided by, sl-Thres-RSRP-List Th (pi, pj), a list of RSRP thresholds for each priority combination (pi, pj) :

[0104] if the terminal device 110 may is an intended receiver for PSSCH in a reserved resource of the second UE, the terminal device 110 may determine a resource conflict if the RSRP of another terminal device 120 is above a threshold Th (p2, p1) ;

[0105] if the terminal device 110 is an intended receiver for PSSCH in a reserved resource of another terminal device 120, the terminal device 110 determines a resource conflict if the RSRP of the second UE is above a threshold Th (p1, p2).

[0106] ● If sl-OptionForCondition2-A-1 = '1' , the terminal device 110 may be provided a value deltaRSRPThresh by sl-DeltaRSRP-Thresh,

[0107] if the terminal device 110 is an intended receiver for PSSCH in a reserved resource of the second UE, the terminal device 110 may determine a resource conflict if RSRP2>RSRP1+deltaRSRPThresh, where RSRP1 and RSRP2 are the RSRP measurements from the terminal device 110 for the further terminal device 120 and another terminal device 120, respectively;

[0108] if the terminal device 110 is an intended receiver for PSSCH in a reserved resource of another terminal device 120, the terminal device 110 may determine a resource conflict if RSRP1>RSRP2+deltaRSRPThresh.

[0109] If the terminal device 110 transmits a PSFCH with conflict information corresponding to a reserved resource indicated in an SCI format 1-A, the terminal device 110 may transmit the PSFCH in the resource pool in a slot determined based on sl-PSFCH-Occasion:

[0110] ● If sl-PSFCH-Occasion = '0' , the terminal device 110 maytransmit the PSFCH in a first slot that includes PSFCH resources and is at least a number of slots, provided by sl-MinTimeGapPSFCH, of the resource pool after a slot of a PSCCH reception that provides the SCI format 1-A. The PSFCH resource is in a slot that is at least T3 slots before the resource associated with the conflict information; otherwise, the UE does not transmit the PSFCH with conflict information;

[0111] ● If sl-PSFCH-Occasion = '1' , the terminal device 110 maytransmit the PSFCH in a latest slot that includes PSFCH resources and is at least T3 slots of the resource pool before a slot of the resource associated with conflict information. The PSFCH resource is in a slot that is at least sl-MinTimeGapPSFCH slots after a slot of a  PSCCH reception that provides the SCI format 1-A; otherwise, the terminal device 110 does not transmit the PSFCH with conflict information.

[0112] Example processes

[0113] In a sidelink communication, a terminal device needs to perform a prioritization procedure and also needs to perform channel access procedure before transmitting the PSFCH. Further, as discussed above, PSFCH with HARQ-ACK information and / or PSFCH with conflict information may be transmitted / received. Due to such complicated communication scenario, the order between performing PSFCH prioritization and performing channel access procedure needs to be further discussed. Further, as PSFCH with HARQ-ACK information usually be considered to have a higher priority, how to improve the transmission probability of PSFCH with HARQ-ACK information also needs to be further discussed.

[0114] According to some embodiments of the present, at least part of the above problems may be addressed.

[0115] Reference is made to FIG. 3, which illustrates a signaling flow 300 of communication in accordance with some embodiments of the present disclosure. For the purposes of discussion, the signaling flow 300 will be discussed with reference to FIG. 1, for example, by using the terminal device 110, the further terminal device (s) 120 and the network device 130.

[0116] In addition, in the following description, examples of message type (such as SCI, RRC, MAC CE) are only for the purpose of illustration without suggesting any limitations. In other example embodiments, any suitable message types may be used for the interaction between the terminal device 110, the terminal device (s) 120 and the network device 130.

[0117] In the example of FIG. 3, the terminal device 110 may be a sidelink transmission receiver and feedback information transmitter, while the terminal device (s) 620 may be a sidelink transmission transmitter and feedback information receiver.

[0118] In the example of FIG. 3, the terminal device 110 and the further terminal device (s) 120 may perform 320 SL transmission (s) . Specifically, the terminal device 110 may transmit the SL transmission (s) to the further terminal device (s) 120, and thus the terminal device 110 may receive PSFCH reception (s) from the further terminal device (s) 120.  Further, the terminal device 110 may receive the SL transmission (s) from the further terminal device (s) 120, and thus the terminal device 110 may transmit PSFCH transmission (s) to the further terminal device (s) 120.

[0119] In the following discussions, some example embodiments will be discussed by using a first set of PSFCH transmissions and a second set of PSFCH receptions as example scenario. In particular, the first set of PSFCH transmissions at least partially overlaps with the second set of PSFCH receptions in time domain.

[0120] In the example of FIG. 2A, there are four pending transmissions of PSFCH, i.e., PSFCHs #1 to #4. Further, in the example of FIG. 2A, the first set of PSFCH transmissions comprises: the PSFCH transmission #1 and PSFCH transmission #2, while the second set of PSFCH receptions comprises: PSFCH reception #3 and PSFCH reception #4. Further, the priority values of transmissions of PSFCH #1 to #4 are represented as, priority values #1 to #4, respectively.

[0121] In some embodiments, the sidelink transmissions may be transmitted / received on unlicensed spectrum with shared spectrum channel access resources. In some embodiments, the RB sets for PSFCHs with different channel access (LBT) results are different.

[0122] In operation, the terminal device 110 determines 330 to perform a first set of PSFCH transmissions, and if channel access procedures associated with all the PSFCH transmissions that provide HARQ-ACK information in the first set are failed and one or more PSFCH receptions in a second set of PSFCH receptions provide HARQ-ACK information, the terminal device 110 switches 340 to perform at least one PSFCH reception in the second set.

[0123] In the example of FIG. 2A, the PSFCH transmission #1 provides HARQ-ACK information, the PSFCH transmission #2 provides conflict information, the PSFCH reception #3 provides HARQ-ACK information and the PSFCH reception #4 provides conflict information. Further, the priority value #1 is smaller than the priority value #3, i.e., the PSFCH transmission #1 has a higher priority. Due to this, the terminal device 110 may determine to perform the first set of PSFCH transmissions. In this event, if channel access procedures (i.e., LBT procedures) associated with all the PSFCH transmissions that provide HARQ-ACK information in the first set are failed (i.e., the channel access procedure associated with PSFCH transmission #1 is failed) and one or  more PSFCH receptions in a second set of PSFCH receptions provide HARQ-ACK information (i.e., PSFCH transmission #3 provides HARQ-ACK information) , the terminal device 110 switches to perform at least one PSFCH reception in the second set. As a result, the terminal device 110 drops the transmission of the PSFCH transmission #2.

[0124] According to some embodiments of the present disclosure, a more flexible processes may be proceeded.

[0125] In operation, the first set of PSFCH transmissions at least partially overlaps with a second set of PSFCH receptions in time domain and a channel access procedure associated with a first PSFCH transmission in the first set is failed. In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 performs at least one PSFCH reception in the second set, wherein a priority value of the first PSFCH transmission is lower than any of a set of priorities of the second set of PSFCH receptions.

[0126] Additionally, in some embodiments, if the smallest priority value of a set of priorities of the second set is lower than the smallest priority value of at least one priority of the at least one PSFCH transmission, the terminal device 110 may perform the at least one PSFCH reception in the second set.

[0127] In the example of FIG. 2A, priority value #1 < priority value #3 < priority value #2 < priority value #4. In this specific example, if the channel access procedure associated with the PSFCH transmission #1 (i.e., the first PSFCH transmission) in the first set is failed, and the channel access procedure associated with the PSFCH transmission #2 (i.e., the at least one PSFCH transmission in the first set) in the first set is successful. In this event, as the smallest priority value of a set of priorities of the second set (i.e., the priority value #3) is lower than the smallest priority value of at least one priority of the at least one PSFCH transmission (i.e., priority value #2) , the terminal device 110 may perform the at least one PSFCH reception in the second set.

[0128] In some embodiments, if all the at least one PSFCH transmission provides conflict information or none of the at least one PSFCH transmission provides HARQ-ACK information, the terminal device 110 may perform the at least one PSFCH reception in the second set, wherein a PSFCH reception in the second set provides HARQ-ACK information.

[0129] In the example of FIG. 2A, if the PSFCH transmission #1 provides HARQ-ACK  information, the PSFCH transmission #2 provides conflict information, the PSFCH reception #3 provides HARQ-ACK information and the PSFCH reception #4 provides HARQ-ACK information. Further, the priority value #1 is smaller than the priority value #3, i.e., the PSFCH transmission #1 has a higher priority. Due to this, the terminal device 110 may determine to perform the first set of PSFCH transmissions. In this event, if the channel access procedure associated with the PSFCH transmission #1 (i.e., the first PSFCH transmission) in the first set is failed, it may be concluded that all the at least one PSFCH transmission provides conflict information (or none of the at least one PSFCH transmission provides HARQ-ACK information) . Thus, the terminal device 110 may perform the at least one PSFCH reception in the second set because the PSFCH receptions #3 and #4 in the second set provide HARQ-ACK information.

[0130] In some embodiments, if all the channel access procedures associated with the first set are failed or none of the channel access procedures associated with the first set are successful, the terminal device 110 may perform the at least one PSFCH reception in the second set.

[0131] In the example of FIG. 2A, the terminal device 110 may determine to perform the PSFCH transmissions #1 and #2 first. In case the all the access procedures associated with the PSFCH transmissions #1 and #2 are failed, the terminal device 110 may perform the at least one PSFCH reception in the second set.

[0132] Except for switching to perform the at least one PSFCH reception, in some embodiments, if the first set of PSFCH transmissions at least partially overlaps with a second set of PSFCH receptions in time domain and a channel access procedure associated with a first PSFCH transmission in the first set is failed, the terminal device 110 performs at least one PSFCH transmission in the first set, wherein at least one channel access procedure associated with the at least one PSFCH transmission is successful.

[0133] In the example of FIG. 2A, the terminal device 110 may determine to perform the PSFCH transmissions #1 and #2 first. In this event, if the channel access procedure associated with the PSFCH transmission #1 is failed and the PSFCH transmission #2 is successful, the terminal device 110 may continue to perform the PSFCH transmission #2.

[0134] In the above example embodiments, whether to switch to perform PSFCH transmission (s) depends on channel access results for the first set. Generally speaking, whether to perform PSFCH transmission (s) or PSFCH receptions is determined based on  a prioritization rule. According to some embodiments of the present disclosure, the order between performing PSFCH prioritization and performing channel access procedure may be defined. Specifically, the terminal device 110 may perform a prioritization procedure among the first set and the second set before knowing channel access results for the first set or regardless of the channel access results for the first set.

[0135] Additionally, in some embodiments, in case that channel access procedure associated with the first PSFCH transmission is failed, whether to continue performing PSFCH transmission or switch to perform PSFCH reception (s) may be determined by the terminal device 110 based on RRC configuration information via RRC signaling, where the configuration information indicates whether the terminal device 110 is allowed to perform the at least one PSFCH reception in case that the channel access procedure associated with the first PSFCH transmission is failed.

[0136] In some embodiments, the configuration information is pre-defined. As one example, the configuration information is pre-defined by the communication organization (such as 3GPP) , or pre-defined by the network operator or service provider. As another example, the configuration information is configured as factory settings. In this way, the configuration information may be applied as a default configuration and no additional signaling exchanging is needed.

[0137] Alternatively, as illustrated in FIG. 3, the network device 130 may transmit 310 the configuration information to the terminal device 110. Additionally, the terminal device 11 may report capability-related information about whether the terminal device 110 supports switching to perform PSFCH reception (s) to the network device 130. Such that the configuration information configured by the network device 130 may be more reasonable. In this way, the behavior of the terminal device 110 may be controlled by the network device 130.

[0138] Alternatively, in case that channel access procedure associated with the first PSFCH transmission is failed, whether to continue performing PSFCH transmission or switch to perform PSFCH reception (s) may be determined by the terminal device 110 based on capability information of the terminal device 110, such as, processing time length and so on.

[0139] Merely for better understanding the above processes, some example embodiments are discussed as below.

[0140] In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may perform the PSFCH prioritization before the channel access results of the PSFCH transmission is known, or the terminal device 110 may perform the PSFCH prioritization regardless of the channel access results of the PSFCH transmission.

[0141] In case of simultaneous PSFCH transmission / reception, for a PSFCH transmission or reception with HARQ-ACK information, a priority value for the PSFCH is equal to the priority value indicated by an SCI format 1-A associated with the PSFCH.

[0142] in some cases, a UE (such as, the terminal device 110) would transmit Nsch, Tx, PSFCH PSFCHs and receive Nsch, Rx, PSFCH PSFCHs, and transmissions of the Nsch, Tx, PSFCH PSFCHs would overlap in time with receptions of the Nsch, Rx, PSFCH PSFCHs. In some embodiments, the UE transmits or receives only a set of PSFCHs corresponding to the smallest priority field value, as determined by a first set of SCI format 1-A and / or a second set of SCI format 1-A that are respectively associated with PSFCHs with HARQ-ACK information from the Nsch, Tx, PSFCH PSFCHs and PSFCHs with HARQ-ACK information from the Nsch, Rx, PSFCH PSFCHs when one or more of the PSFCHs provide HARQ-ACK information.

[0143] If none of the Nsch, Tx, PSFCH PSFCHs and none of the Nsch, Rx, PSFCH PSFCHs provide HARQ-ACK information, the UE transmits or receives only a set of PSFCHs corresponding to the smallest priority value of the first set of PSFCHs and the second set of PSFCHs that are respectively associated with the Nsch, Tx, PSFCH PSFCHs and the Nsch, Rx, PSFCH PSFCHs when the PSFCHs provide conflict information.

[0144] If a UE would transmit Nsch, Tx, PSFCH PSFCHs in a PSFCH transmission occasion, the UE first transmits PSFCHs with HARQ-ACK information from NTx, PSFCH PSFCHs corresponding to the smallest priority field values from the NTx, PSFCH priority field values, if any. Subsequently, the UE transmits remaining PSFCHs with conflict information corresponding to the smallest remaining priority field values from the NTx, PSFCH priority  field values, if any.

[0145] If a UE indicates a capability to receive NRx, PSFCH PSFCHs in a PSFCH reception occasion, the UE first receives PSFCHs with HARQ-ACK information, if any, and subsequently receives PSFCHs with conflict information, if any.

[0146] In some embodiments, when performing the prioritization rule between a set of PSFCH transmissions and another set of PSFCH receptions which overlaps in time domain, the terminal device 110 may perform the prioritization rule to determine to drop some PSFCH transmissions among a set of intended PSFCH transmissions.

[0147] In some embodiments, in case that the UE determines to transmit the set of PSFCHs based on prioritization, if all the PSFCHs with HARQ-ACK have failed channel access procedures on associated RB sets in the resource pool while one or more PSFCH (s) with conflict information have successful channel access procedures, the terminal device 110 may re-determine or switch to receive the set of PSFCHs if at least one of the PSFCH provides HARQ-ACK information. In this way, the PSFCH (s) which provides HARQ-ACK information may always be prioritized over PSFCH (s) which provides conflict information.

[0148] Alternatively, in some embodiments, in case that the terminal device 110 determines to transmit the set of PSFCH transmissions based on a prioritization rule, and if all of the PSFCHs with HARQ-ACK have failed channel access procedures on associated RB sets in the resource pool while one or more PSFCHs with conflict information have successful channel access procedures, the terminal device 110 may transmit the PSFCH transmission (s) with conflict information.

[0149] Additionally, in some embodiments, whether to re-determine or switch to receive the set of PSFCH receptions or transmit the PSFCH transmissions with conflict information may be performed may be determined based on a (pre-) configuration signaling from the network device, pre-defined factory settings, or a UE capability (e.g., processing time) .

[0150] In some embodiments, if all the PSFCH transmissions have failed channel access (i.e., LBT) on associated RB sets in the resource pool, the terminal device 110 may re-determine or switch to receive the set of PSFCHs.

[0151] In some embodiments, if a terminal device 110 indicates a capability to receive  NRx, PSFCH PSFCHs in a PSFCH reception occasion, the terminal device 110 may first receive PSFCHs with HARQ-ACK information, if any, and subsequently receive PSFCHs with conflict information, if any.

[0152] According to some embodiments of the present disclosure, the terminal device 110 may perform a prioritization procedure to determine whether to perform PSFCH transmission (s) or PSFCH reception (s) , wherein the PSFCH transmission (s) actually-considered for the prioritization procedure may be re-defined, as discussed below.

[0153] In some embodiments, in a case that the first set of PSFCH transmissions at least partially overlaps with a second set of PSFCH receptions in time domain, the terminal device 110 performs a prioritization procedure among the first set and the second set, wherein a channel access procedure associated with each sidelink PSFCH transmissions in the first set is successful.

[0154] Alternatively, in some embodiments, in a case that the first set of PSFCH transmissions at least partially overlaps with a second set of PSFCH receptions in time domain, the terminal device 110 performs a prioritization procedure among a subset of the first set and the second set, wherein a channel access procedure associated with each sidelink PSFCH transmissions in the subset is successful.

[0155] Additionally, in some embodiment, the terminal device 110 may performs the prioritization procedure after knowing channel access results for the first set.

[0156] When performs the prioritization rule between a set of PSFCH transmissions and another set of PSFCH receptions which are overlaps in time domain, and the terminal device 110 may perform the prioritization rule to determine to drop some PSFCH transmissions among a set of intended PSFCH transmissions. In some embodiment, the terminal device 110 may perform PSFCH prioritization after channel access (LBT) results for PSFCH transmission is known.

[0157] In some embodiment, the set of PSFCH transmission involved above refers to the PSFCH transmissions which have successful channel access (LBT) results on associated RB sets in the resource pool.

[0158] In case of simultaneous PSFCH transmission / reception, for a PSFCH transmission or reception with HARQ-ACK information, a priority value for the PSFCH is equal to the priority value indicated by an SCI format 1-A associated with the PSFCH.

[0159] If a UE (such as, the terminal device 110) would transmit Nsch, Tx, PSFCH PSFCHs and receive Nsch, Rx, PSFCH PSFCHs, transmissions of the Nsch, Tx, PSFCH PSFCHs would overlap in time with receptions of the Nsch, Rx, PSFCH PSFCHs, and all the Nsch, Tx, PSFCH PSFCHs have successful channel access procedures (i.e., LBT procedures) , the UE transmits or receives only a set of PSFCHs corresponding to the smallest priority field value, as determined by a first set of SCI format 1-A and / or a second set of SCI format 1-A that are respectively associated with PSFCHs with HARQ-ACK information from the Nsch, Tx, PSFCH PSFCHs and PSFCHs with HARQ-ACK information from the Nsch, Rx, PSFCH PSFCHs when one or more of the PSFCHs provide HARQ-ACK information.

[0160] If none of the Nsch, Tx, PSFCH PSFCHs and none of the Nsch, Rx, PSFCH PSFCHs provide HARQ-ACK information, the UE transmits or receives only a set of PSFCHs corresponding to the smallest priority value of the first set of PSFCHs and the second set of PSFCHs that are respectively associated with the Nsch, Tx, PSFCH PSFCHs and the Nsch, Rx, PSFCH PSFCHs when the PSFCHs provide conflict information.

[0161] If a UE would transmit Nsch, Tx, PSFCH PSFCHs in a PSFCH transmission occasion, the UE first transmits PSFCHs with HARQ-ACK information from NTx, PSFCH PSFCHs corresponding to the smallest priority field values from the NTx, PSFCH priority field values, if any. Subsequently, the UE transmits remaining PSFCHs with conflict information corresponding to the smallest remaining priority field values from the NTx, PSFCH priority field values, if any.

[0162] If a UE indicates a capability to receive NRx, PSFCH PSFCHs in a PSFCH reception occasion, the UE first receives PSFCHs with HARQ-ACK information, if any, and subsequently receives PSFCHs with conflict information, if any.

[0163] When performs the prioritization rule between a set of PSFCH transmissions and another set of PSFCH receptions which are overlaps in time domain, and the terminal device 110 may perform the prioritization rule to determine to drop some PSFCH  transmissions among a set of intended PSFCH transmissions. In some embodiment, the terminal device 110 may perform PSFCH prioritization after channel access (LBT) results for PSFCH transmission is known.

[0164] In some embodiment, the priority of PSFCH used for comparing should exclude the PSFCH which has channel access (LBT) failure on associated RB sets in the resource pool.

[0165] In case of simultaneous PSFCH transmission / reception, for a PSFCH transmission or reception with HARQ-ACK information, a priority value for the PSFCH is equal to the priority value indicated by an SCI format 1-A associated with the PSFCH.

[0166] If a UE would transmit Nsch, Tx, PSFCH PSFCHs and receive Nsch, Rx, PSFCH PSFCHs, and transmissions of the Nsch, Tx, PSFCH PSFCHs would overlap in time with receptions of the Nsch, Rx, PSFCH PSFCHs, the UE transmits or receives only a set of PSFCHs corresponding to the smallest priority field value, as determined by a first set of SCI format 1-A and / or a second set of SCI format 1-A that are respectively associated with PSFCHs which have successful channel access (LBT) results and with HARQ-ACK information from the Nsch, Tx, PSFCH PSFCHs and PSFCHs with HARQ-ACK information from the Nsch, Rx, PSFCH PSFCHs when one or more of the PSFCHs provide HARQ-ACK information.

[0167] If none of the Nsch, Tx, PSFCH PSFCHs and none of the Nsch, Rx, PSFCH PSFCHs provide HARQ-ACK information, the UE transmits or receives only a set of PSFCHs corresponding to the smallest priority value of the first set of PSFCHs and the second set of PSFCHs that are respectively associated with the Nsch, Tx, PSFCH PSFCHs which have successful channel access (LBT) results and the Nsch, Rx, PSFCH PSFCHs when the PSFCHs provide conflict information.

[0168] If a UE would transmit Nsch, Tx, PSFCH PSFCHs in a PSFCH transmission occasion, the UE first transmits PSFCHs which have successful channel access (LBT) results and with HARQ-ACK information from NTx, PSFCH PSFCHs corresponding to the smallest  priority field values from the NTx, PSFCH priority field values, if any. Subsequently, the UE transmits remaining PSFCHs which have successful channel access (LBT) results and with conflict information corresponding to the smallest remaining priority field values from the NTx, PSFCH priority field values, if any.

[0169] If a UE indicates a capability to receive NRx, PSFCH PSFCHs in a PSFCH reception occasion, the UE first receives PSFCHs with HARQ-ACK information, if any, and subsequently receives PSFCHs with conflict information, if any.

[0184] At block 620, the terminal device performs a prioritization procedure among one of the following: the first set and the second set, wherein a channel access procedure associated with each sidelink PSFCH transmissions in the first set is successful, or At block 630, a subset of the first set and the second set, wherein a channel access procedure associated with each sidelink PSFCH transmissions in the subset is successful.

[0185] In some example embodiments, the processor is further configured to cause the terminal device to: perform the prioritization procedure after knowing channel access results for the first set.
