Information processing device, information processing method, and program

[0001] The present invention relates to an information processing system, an information processing method, and a program.

[0002] In recent years, coaches have been providing services that teach English conversation to students while they play e-sports games (hereinafter referred to as "e-sports English conversation") (see, for example, Patent Documents 1 and 2). In such e-sports English conversation, it is necessary to provide appropriate instruction to students according to the current situation of the e-sports game, which is constantly changing.

[0003] JP 2021-045426 A JP 2022-125393 A

[0004] However, even if e-sports English conversation lessons are conducted using conventional technologies, including the technology described in Patent Document 1, it is difficult to say that they are adequately able to provide appropriate instruction to students in accordance with the current situation of e-sports games, which are constantly changing. This applies not only to e-sports English conversation coaches, but also to coaches who teach using predetermined types of educational content on a predetermined platform in the metaverse.

[0005] The present invention was made in consideration of this situation, and aims to enable coaches who provide instruction using specified educational content on a specified platform in the metaverse, where the situation is constantly changing, to provide appropriate instruction to students according to the current situation.

[0006] In order to achieve the above object, one embodiment of the information processing device of the present invention is an information processing device that supports a coach who provides education using educational content whose situation changes continuously on a specified platform in a metaverse where the situation changes continuously, and includes: a situation acquisition means that acquires the specified platform and the current situation of the education; and an advice generation means that generates advice regarding the education according to the current situation based on a specified algorithm.

[0007] An information processing method and a program according to one aspect of the present invention are respectively an information processing method and a program corresponding to the information processing device according to the above-described one aspect of the present invention.

[0008] According to the present invention, a coach who provides education using predetermined educational content on a predetermined platform in the metaverse, where the situation is constantly changing, can provide appropriate education to a student according to the current situation.

FIG. 14 is a diagram illustrating an example of a game screen projected as an overlay on a real screen displayed on the screen of a device worn by a human coach among the e-sports English conversation coaches of the present service.

[0010] Hereinafter, an embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings.

[0011] First, with reference to FIG. 1, an overview of e-sports English conversation, which is the basis of a service that can be realized by an embodiment of the information processing system of the present invention (hereinafter referred to as "this service"), will be described.

[0012] 1 is a diagram showing an overview of the e-sports English conversation service that is the basis for this service, which can be realized by an embodiment of an information processing device of the present invention. The e-sports English conversation service is a service in which a coach (a human coach CR or a bot coach CB) teaches English conversation to N students S1 to S3 (N is an integer value greater than or equal to 1; in the example of FIG. 1, N=3) while playing an e-sports game together. Hereinafter, when there is no need to distinguish between students S1 to SN individually, they will be collectively referred to as "student S."

[0013] In this type of e-sports English conversation, the quality of the coach is important. In this service, to improve the quality of the e-sports English conversation coach, real-time advice on English conversation according to the current e-sports situation is generated and presented to the coach based on a predetermined algorithm, as shown in Figures 2 and 3.

[0014] Figure 2 is a diagram showing an example of real-time advice provided to a human coach among the e-sports English conversation coaches of this service. Figure 2 shows the screen (hereinafter referred to as the "coach screen") of the terminal (hereinafter referred to as the "coach terminal") operated by the human coach CR.

[0015] As shown in FIG. 2 , an image (game screen) showing e-sports is displayed on the coach screen. The game screen changes from moment to moment depending on the status of the e-sports. Therefore, in the example of FIG. 2 , advice A1 to A5 are displayed as real-time advice according to the current status of the e-sports. Advice A1 presents a chart of past English conversation lessons and the tasks for the current English conversation lesson. Advice A2 to A5 are overlaid on the game screen and present the current status of the e-sports and advice for coach CR on how to provide appropriate English conversation instruction.

[0016] 3 is a diagram showing an example of a bot coach, one of the e-sports English conversation coaches of this service, who provides English conversation instruction based on real-time advice. Figure 3 shows a screen (hereinafter referred to as the "student screen") on a terminal (hereinafter referred to as the "student terminal") operated by a student S who receives English conversation instruction from the bot coach CB.

[0017] As shown in FIG. 3 , the student screen displays an image (game screen) depicting e-sports. The game screen changes from moment to moment depending on the status of the e-sports. The student screen also displays the face (animated, etc.) of the bot coach CB, and a display area B1 displays text indicating the instruction provided by the bot coach CB. Naturally, along with the text display, audio indicating the instruction provided by the bot coach CB (the bot coach CB's English conversation with the student S) is also output. This instruction is based on advice appropriate to the current status of the e-sports (the match), making it more appropriate. The student screen also displays a display area B2 showing the current points earned by the student S. The points change in real time. The points may be points for e-sports alone, or points calculated based on predetermined rules combining e-sports and English conversation. The example in FIG. 3 uses the latter points. The student screen also displays a display area B3 indicating the missions that the student S must complete in English conversation during the e-sports (the match). Each mission is assigned a score, and if the student S can say it in English, the score is added to the total points earned. In addition to predetermined missions, missions created by the bot coach CB after receiving advice based on the current situation of the e-sports (the match) may also be displayed in the display area B3.

[0018] Next, the configuration of an information processing system that realizes the provision of the above-described present service, i.e., an embodiment of an information system including a server that is an embodiment of the information processing device of the present invention, will be described with reference to Fig. 4. Fig. 4 is a diagram showing an example of the configuration of an information processing system to which the present service of Fig. 1 is applied, i.e., an information system that includes a server that is an embodiment of the information processing device of the present invention.

[0019] 4 is configured to include a server 1, student terminals 2-1 to 2-n operated by n students S1 to Sn (n is an integer greater than or equal to 1), and coach terminals 3-1 to 3-m operated by m human coaches CR1 to CRm (m is an integer greater than or equal to 1). The server 1, student terminals 2-1 to 2-n, and coach terminals 3-1 to 3-m are connected to one another via a predetermined network such as the Internet.

[0020] The server 1 is an information processing device managed by the provider of this service (hereinafter referred to as the "service provider"). The server 1 executes various processes to realize this service while appropriately communicating with the student terminals 2-2 to 2-n and the coach terminals 3-1 to 3-m.

[0021] As described above, each of the student terminals 2-1 to 2-n is an information processing device operated by each of the n students S1 to Sn. Each of the student terminals 2-1 to 2-n is composed of a personal computer, tablet, smartphone, etc. Here, as described above, when there is no need to distinguish between the students S1 to Sn, they are collectively referred to as "student S." When referring to students S, the student terminals 2-1 to 2-n are collectively referred to as "student terminal 2." The student terminal 2, for example, accepts various information input operations by the student S and transmits the information to the server 1, and receives and displays various information transmitted from the server 1.

[0022] As described above, each of the coach terminals 3-1 to 3-m is an information processing device operated by each of the m human coaches CR1 to CRm. Each of the coach terminals 3-1 to 3-m is configured as a personal computer, tablet, smartphone, etc. Here, when there is no need to individually distinguish between the human coaches CR1 to CRm, they are collectively referred to as "coach CR." When referred to as coach CR, the coach terminals 3-1 to 3-m are collectively referred to as "coach terminal 3." The coach terminal 3, for example, accepts input operations of various information by a human coach C and transmits the information to the server 1, and receives and displays various information transmitted from the server 1.

[0023] FIG. 5 is a block diagram showing an example of a hardware configuration of a server in the information processing system shown in FIG.

[0024] The server 1 includes a CPU (Central Processing Unit) 11, a ROM (Read Only Memory) 12, a RAM (Random Access Memory) 13, a bus 14, an input / output interface 15, an input unit 16, an output unit 17, a memory unit 18, a communication unit 19, and a drive 20.

[0025] The CPU 11 executes various processes according to programs recorded in the ROM 12 or programs loaded from the storage unit 18 into the RAM 13. The RAM 13 also stores data and the like necessary for the CPU 11 to execute various processes.

[0026] The CPU 11, ROM 12, and RAM 13 are interconnected via a bus 14. An input / output interface 15 is also connected to this bus 14. An input unit 16, an output unit 17, a storage unit 18, a communication unit 19, and a drive 20 are connected to the input / output interface 15.

[0027] The input unit 16 is configured with, for example, a keyboard and is used to input various types of information. The output unit 17 is configured with, for example, a display such as an LCD, a speaker, and the like and outputs various types of information as images and sounds. The storage unit 18 is configured with, for example, a DRAM (Dynamic Random Access Memory) and is used to store various types of data. The communication unit 19 communicates with other devices (for example, the student terminals 2-1 to 2-n and the coach terminals 3-1 to 3-m in FIG. 4) via a network including the Internet.

[0028] Removable media 30, such as a magnetic disk, optical disk, magneto-optical disk, or semiconductor memory, is appropriately attached to the drive 20. Programs read from the removable media 30 by the drive 20 are installed in the storage unit 18 as needed. The removable media 30 can also store various data stored in the storage unit 18 in the same way as the storage unit 18.

[0029] Although not shown, the student terminals 2-1 to 2-n and the coach terminals 3-1 to 3-m in Fig. 4 can also have basically the same hardware configuration as that shown in Fig. 5. Therefore, a description of the hardware configuration of the student terminals 2-1 to 2-n and the coach terminals 3-1 to 3-m in Fig. 4 will be omitted.

[0030] The functional configuration of Fig. 6 can be realized by cooperation of the various hardware and software of the server 1 of Fig. 5, and as a result, the above-mentioned service can be provided. Fig. 6 is a functional block diagram showing an example of the functional configuration of the server of Fig. 5 that constitutes the information processing system of Fig. 4.

[0031] 6, a UI control unit 51, an English conversation control unit 52, an e-sports execution control unit 53, a situation acquisition unit 54, a coach advice unit 55, and a learning unit 56 function in the CPU 11 of the server 1. A coach advice AI 71 and a bot coach 72 are provided in one area of the memory unit 18 of the server 1. Here, the bot coach 72 refers to a bot (bot coach CB in FIG. 1) as a coach, and means for controlling the bot in response to advice from the coach advice unit 55, which will be described later.

[0032] The UI control unit 51 generates a UI (User Interface) screen for e-sports English conversation between the student S and the coach (human coach CR or bot coach CB), provides it to the student terminal 2 and the coach terminal 3, and transmits and receives various information through the UI screen between the student terminal 2, the coach terminal 3, and the server 1. For example, the UI control unit 51 displays a court screen such as that shown in FIG. 2 as a UI screen on the coach terminal 3 for the human coach CR. Also, for example, the UI control unit 51 displays a student screen such as that shown in FIG. 3 as a UI screen for the student S (a student screen on which the bot coach CB is not displayed if the coach is a human coach CR).

[0033] The English conversation control unit 52 cooperates with the UI control unit 51 to control the English conversation exchanged between the student S and the coach (human coach CR or bot coach CB). That is, under the control of the UI control unit 51, the English conversation control unit 52 acquires the voice spoken in English by the student S from the student terminal 2 and provides it to the coach terminal 3 of the bot coach 72 or human coach CR. Also, under the control of the UI control unit 51, the English conversation control unit 52 acquires the voice spoken in English by the human coach CR from the coach terminal 3 or acquires English voice from the bot coach CB and provides it to the student terminal 2. If necessary, the English conversation control unit 52 generates text corresponding to the English voice and provides it to the student terminal 2 under the control of the UI control unit 51.

[0034] The e-sports execution control unit 53, in cooperation with the UI control unit 51, accepts the operations performed by the student S on the student terminal 2 and the operations performed by the human coach CR on the coach terminal 3e, controls the execution of the e-sports, and generates a game screen showing the e-sports content, the situation of which changes from moment to moment, and provides it to the student terminal 2 and the coach terminal 3.

[0035] The status acquisition unit 54 acquires the current status of English conversation from the English conversation control unit 52 and the current status of e-sports from the e-sports execution control unit 53.

[0036] The coach advice unit 55 generates advice on English conversation (education) based on a predetermined algorithm in accordance with the current situation acquired by the situation acquisition unit 54. Here, the predetermined algorithm is not particularly limited, but in this embodiment, a coach advice AI is used that includes a model that outputs appropriate advice when the current situation is input.

[0037] When a conversation in English is taking place between a student S and a human coach CR, advice is superimposed on the game screen and provided to the coach terminal 3 of the human coach CR. Note that the form of advice is not particularly limited to being superimposed on the game screen, and it is sufficient if the content of the advice is transmitted to the human coach CR. For example, the advice may be transmitted to the human coach CR by audio output. When a conversation in English is taking place between a student S and the bot coach CR of FIG. 1, advice is provided to the bot coach 72 (which combines the bot coach CB and its control means), and the educational content (English conversation content, missions, etc.) by the bot coach 72 that receives the advice is provided to the student terminal 2.

[0038] The learning unit 56 generates or updates the coach advice AI71 by performing predetermined machine learning using the training results of multiple coaches (including both human coaches CR and bot coaches CB) using English conversation in e-sports.

[0039] Although one embodiment of the present invention has been described above, the present invention is not limited to the above-described embodiment, and modifications, improvements, etc. within the scope of achieving the object of the present invention are considered to be included in the present invention.

[0040] For example, in the above embodiment, the coach is a person who provides instruction using the e-sports English conversation method shown in Fig. 1, but is not limited to this. That is, the service that forms the basis of this service (service for providing advice to the educator (coach)) that can be realized by one embodiment of the information processing device of the present invention (hereinafter referred to as the "basic service") is the e-sports English conversation method shown in Fig. 1 in the above embodiment, but is not limited to this and various other services within the scope shown in Fig. 7 can be adopted.

[0041] FIG. 7 is a diagram showing the scope of application of the basic service of this service (a service for providing advice to educators (coaches)) that can be realized by one embodiment of the information processing system of the present invention. In other words, the basic service is sufficient as long as it is a service in which a coach C acts as the subject personality S (and a student S also acts as the subject personality S) and provides education using a predetermined type of educational content CN on a predetermined platform P of the metaverse, and various services can be adopted. The predetermined platform P of the metaverse can be any of the service platforms and mechanisms for using the metaverse, such as games, VR, AR, and Meta. For example, the e-sports game used in the e-sports English conversation example in FIG. 1 is an example of the predetermined platform P. The educational content CN can be any of language education, non-cognitive education, video skills, IT skills, major subjects, etc. For example, the English conversation used in the e-sports English conversation example in FIG. 1 is an example of language education as the predetermined content CN. The subject personality S can be any of the following: the person + character, the person + avatar, another personality (e.g., a VTuber), etc. For example, the person himself / herself and the character in the e-sports game used in the e-sports English conversation example in Figure 1 is an example of the subject personality S.

[0042] In other words, this service, which can be realized by one embodiment of the information processing device of the present invention, is sufficient as long as it is a service that supports the recruitment of a coach C who provides education using a specified type of educational content CN on a specified platform P of the metaverse, and various types of services can be adopted.

[0043] Here, with reference to Figures 8 to 10, modifications of the above-described embodiment will be described. Figure 8 is a diagram showing an example of real-time advice (e.g., advice based on data acquired by audio analysis) provided to a human coach among the e-sports English conversation coaches of the present service. Figure 9 is a diagram showing an example of real-time advice (e.g., homework for a student based on data acquired by audio analysis) provided to a human coach among the e-sports English conversation coaches of the present service. Figure 10 is a diagram showing an example of a game screen projected as an overlay on a real screen displayed on the screen of a device worn by a human coach among the e-sports English conversation coaches of the present service.

[0044] In this service, to improve the quality of e-sports English conversation coaching, real-time advice on English conversation according to the current e-sports situation is generated and presented to the coach based on a predetermined algorithm, as shown in Figures 8 to 10.

[0045] As shown in Fig. 8, an image (game screen) showing e-sports is displayed on the coach screen. The game screen changes from moment to moment depending on the status of the e-sports. Therefore, in the example of Fig. 8, advice A11 and A12 are displayed as real-time advice according to the current status of the e-sports.

[0046] The advice A11 shown in FIG. 8 displays, for example, a growth curve showing the growth of a student (Mr. A). For the advice A11, the English conversation control unit 52 acquires the student's (Mr. A) English speech from the student terminal 2. The coach advice unit 55 analyzes the acquired speech to determine the student's (Mr. A's) speech rate and the number of words per sentence, and generates information that can be used to graph these trends (e.g., weekly trends from 12 weeks ago to today). The UI control unit 51 notifies the coach terminal 3 of the advice A11 based on the generated information. As a result of the CPU 11 functioning as described above, the advice A11 shown in FIG. 8 is displayed on the coach screen. Note that the growth curve is merely an example, and any method may be used as long as it can analyze the student's speech data, generate quantitative information about the student that the coach can use to provide advice, and visualize and display this information. While FIG. 8 displays only the student's (Mr. A's) growth curve, in reality, growth curves for other students (Mr. B, Mr. C, etc.) are also displayed.

[0047] Advice A12 shown in FIG. 8 displays, for example, the speech rate and number of words per sentence for each of students A, B, and C. The coach advice unit 55 and the like function with respect to advice A12 in the same way as with advice A11. The coach can easily grasp the current situation of each of students A, B, and C by using advice A12 displayed on the coach screen. Furthermore, the coach can provide appropriate advice to each of students A, B, and C, or to all of them, by using advice A11 and A12.

[0048] As shown in Fig. 9, an image (game screen) showing e-sports is displayed on the coach screen. The game screen changes from moment to moment depending on the status of the e-sports. Therefore, in the example of Fig. 9, advice A13 is displayed as real-time advice according to the current status of the e-sports.

[0049] Regarding advice A13, the English conversation control unit 52 acquires the student's English speech from the student terminal 2. The coach advice unit 55 analyzes the acquired speech to determine, for example, whether there are any words or phrases that the student is not using effectively. If there are any words or phrases that the student is not using effectively, the coach advice unit 55 generates information, such as a homework sentence. The UI control unit 51 notifies the coach terminal 3 of the advice A13 based on the generated information. As the CPU 11 functions as described above, advice A13 as shown in FIG. 9 is displayed on the coach screen. In advice A13, for example, by pressing the "AI-generated homework" button, a homework sentence (not shown) automatically generated by the coach advice unit 55 (coach advice AI 71) is presented on the coach screen. Based on the presented homework sentence, the coach can present the student with a written homework sentence, for example, through chat. Note that advice A13 in FIG. 9 illustrates an example of an automatically generated homework sentence. However, information useful for the coach to assign homework of their own volition may also be presented.

[0050] In Figure 10, a game screen GG is projected as an overlay onto a real screen RG displayed on a screen DG of a device (for example, a coach terminal 3 such as a head-mounted display (spatial computing device) shown in Figure 10) worn by a human coach among the e-sports English conversation coaches of this service. Although not specifically labeled here, real-time advice according to the current e-sports situation is displayed (the advice displayed in Figure 10 is, for example, the same advice as in Figure 2). In the example of Figure 10, for example, the current e-sports situation and advice for coaching English conversation appropriate to the coach are respectively presented.

[0051] The modified examples shown in Figures 8 to 10 have been described above, but the present invention is not limited to the above-mentioned modified examples, and modifications, improvements, etc. within the scope of achieving the object of the present invention are considered to be included in the present invention.

[0052] Furthermore, the system configuration shown in FIG. 4 and the hardware configuration of the server 1 shown in FIG. 5 are merely examples for achieving the object of the present invention, and are not particularly limited.

[0053] Furthermore, the functional block diagram shown in Fig. 6 is merely an example and is not particularly limited. That is, it is sufficient if the information processing system in Fig. 3 is provided with a function that can execute the above-described series of processes as a whole, and the type of functional block used to realize this function is not particularly limited to the example in Fig. 6.

[0054] Furthermore, the locations of the functional blocks are not limited to those shown in Figure 6 and may be arbitrary. For example, at least some of the functional blocks located on the server 1 side may be provided on the student terminal 2 side, the coach terminal 3 side, or another information processing device not shown. Similarly, the coach advice AI 71 and the bot coach 72 do not necessarily have to be located on the server 1 and may be located on another information processing device not shown.

[0055] The above-described series of processes can be executed by hardware or software, and each functional block can be configured by hardware alone, software alone, or a combination of both.

[0056] When a series of processes is executed by software, the programs constituting the software are installed onto a computer or the like from a network or a recording medium. The computer may be a computer incorporated into dedicated hardware. The computer may also be a computer capable of executing various functions by installing various programs, such as a server, a general-purpose smartphone, or a personal computer.

[0057] The recording medium containing such a program may be composed not only of a removable medium (not shown) that is distributed separately from the device main body in order to provide the program to the user, but also of a recording medium that is provided to the user in a state that is pre-installed in the device main body.

[0058] In this specification, the steps describing the program to be recorded on the recording medium include not only processes that are performed in chronological order, but also processes that are not necessarily performed in chronological order but are performed in parallel or individually.

[0059] To summarize the above, an information processing device to which the present invention is applied is sufficient as long as it has the following configuration, and can take various forms. That is, an information processing device to which the present invention is applied (e.g., server 1 in FIG. 4) is an information processing device that supports a coach (e.g., human coach CR or bot coach CB in FIG. 1) who provides education using educational content (e.g., content CN in FIG. 7, specifically, English conversation) whose situation changes continuously on a predetermined platform in the metaverse (e.g., platform P in FIG. 7, specifically, an e-sports game) whose situation changes continuously, and includes: situation acquisition means (e.g., situation acquisition unit 54 in FIG. 6) that acquires the predetermined platform and the current situation of the education; and support information generation means (e.g., coach advice unit 55 in FIG. 6) that generates, based on a predetermined algorithm (e.g., coach advice AI71 in FIG. 6), support information (e.g., advice A1 to A5 in FIG. 2, advice A11 and A12 in FIG. 8, advice A13 in FIG. 9, etc.) that is information about the education according to the current situation and is information for supporting the coach,

[0060] In this way, appropriate advice according to the current situation is given to the coach who is teaching using predetermined educational content on a predetermined platform in the metaverse where the situation is constantly changing, allowing the coach to teach the student appropriately according to the current situation.

[0061] The coach is a natural person (e.g., the human coach CR in FIG. 1 ) and provides the training using a predetermined device (e.g., the coach terminal 3 in FIGS. 6 and 10 ), and the training system may further include a support information notification means (e.g., the UI control unit 51 in FIG. 6 ) that notifies the coach of the support information via the predetermined device.

[0062] The specified device is a spatial computing device (e.g., coach terminal 3 in FIG. 10), and the support information notification means can notify the coach of the support information by projecting the support information as an overlay (e.g., an overlay of game GG in FIG. 10) onto a real screen (e.g., real screen RG in FIG. 10) displayed on a screen of the specified device (e.g., device screen DG in FIG. 10).
