Abstract
Description
[0001] TOPICAL FORMULATION FOR WOUND AND BURN TREATMENTS
[0002] Technical Field
[0003] The invention relates to a topical formulation used in the treatment of wounds and burns, preferably in 1stand 2nddegree burns, as well as in the treatment of severe wounds that occur in bedridden patients after chemotherapy and plastic surgery operations.
[0004] In another aspect, the invention relates to a cream formulation that has all-natural ingredients and does not comprise any synthetic ingredients.
[0005] Prior Art
[0006] Burn and wound treatments are treatment methods applied in skin lesions that occur in all layers of the skin. While burns are damage caused by the effect of high heat or chemicals on the skin, wounds can be caused by cuts, scratches or various injuries on the skin.
[0007] Painkillers, antibiotics, skin tissue healing creams and preservatives in the form of wound dressings can be used in the treatment of burns and wounds. Painkillers are used to relieve pain in the damaged area. Antibiotics are used to reduce the risk of infection. Creams help speed up the healing process of the damaged area. Wound dressings keep the damaged area moist and reduce the risk of infection. In severe burns, skin grafts or other surgical interventions may be required. Treatment of wounds may also vary depending on the severity of the damage.
[0008] In the relevant technical field, it is generally possible to use creams, antibiotics or drugs providing more than one different function in order to restore the damaged areas in wound and burn treatments. As can be understood from here, there is no product that contains a single therapeutic composition or formulation. Drugs or formulations used to provide these functions comprise synthetic components. Products comprising synthetic components can cause skin irritations, chemical allergies, increased antibiotic resistance and hormone disorders in people. For this reason, studies are continuing rapidly to obtain a formulation that can be used in both wound and burn treatments in the relevant technical field and that can provide the functions of many different products together, and at the same time, to provide components in the formulation which do not comprise synthetic components. The use of natural ingredients in creams has become popular in recent years. The use of natural ingredients is preferred to reduce the negative effects of synthetic ingredients, provide healthier skin care and cause less harm to the environment. Vegetable oils, vitamins, plants such as aloe vera, honey and beeswax, and various oils can be used as natural ingredients.
[0009] In the application TR2012 / 14109 (i.Eren) , wound cream comprising resin, beeswax, olive oil and penicillin; in the application TR2022 / 019008 (Qukurova University), wound cream comprising olive oil, beeswax, pistachio tree resin and egg yolk; in the application TR2022 / 018350 (Grimax Bili§im), herbal cream formulation comprising olive oil, beeswax and vegetable oil selected from jasmine, lemon, lavender, rose oils; in the application TR2015 / 17718 (Mugla Sitki Kogman University), wound cream comprising centaury and sweetgum oil as well as beeswax and glycerin were explained.
[0010] As a result, there is a need for a formulation that comprises natural ingredients to remove the technical negativities caused by synthetic components, does not require the use of more than one product for wound and burn treatments, and has healing properties even in very severe cases.
[0011] Brief Description of the Invention
[0012] In the relevant technical field, wounds especially after chemotherapy, surgical operations and decubitus wounds in bedridden people are the most severe wounds, while the most severe cases in burns are 1stand 2nddegree burn cases. For the treatment of severe cases of wounds and burns, there is often the use of more than one therapeutic formulation, drug or composition that is used in different functions. While said formulations, drugs or compositions usually comprise synthetic ingredients, there are technical disadvantages where synthetic components can cause different symptoms in patients.
[0013] The main object of the invention is to obtain a formulation suitable for use even in the treatment of burns or wounds.
[0014] Another main object of the invention is to obtain a formulation that comprises natural ingredients and eliminates the symptoms that can occur in the use of synthetic ingredients. [0047] The method specified for Examples 1 and 2 can be also applied in Example 3.
[0048] Mode of administration
[0049] For burns on the skin, it is important to neutralize the heat, as the skin and subcutaneous tissues remain warm for the first 24 hours. For this, cream or ointment is applied directly to the surface of the burn, and this process helps to neutralize the heat during the burning phase. At the next stage, on the second or third day, it is applied thinly on a double layer of gauze and applied to the burned area in such a way that the damaged areas are completely covered. Then, the wound is loosely bandaged with a double layer of gauze so that the damaged tissue can breathe. The main object of the gauze is to attach the necrotic tissues formed on the wound and to clean the wound by sticking it to itself due to its structure. When the gauze is removed from the wound, it removes necrotic tissues, and there are no scars after healing.
[0050] Normally, scars remain after healing in burns. In standard medical practice, necrotic tissue is surgically removed from the wound, cut off, thus, naturally the patient suffers a lot of pain, bleeding occurs, and the general condition worsens. In addition, after healing, the tissue cannot regain its elasticity and its physical performance is limited and scars remain. The use of the above-mentioned method eliminates the need for surgical intervention, cleans necrotic tissues from the wound on time, does not cause any mechanical damage and does not leave scars, retaining skin elasticity after healing.
[0051] Patient studies related to the formulation of the invention are available, and the studies are currently ongoing. The technical effects related to the invention are being monitored through patient follow-up forms.
