Abstract
Description
Description Title of the invention: Fire-resistant device for passage through a wall and wall equipped with at least one such device
[0001] The present invention relates to the field of fire-resistant passage (or crossing) devices allowing the temporary passage of cables or conduits through walls, in particular in buildings or structures, more particularly in high-security buildings or structures such as nuclear power plants. It relates to a fire-resistant passage device through a wall. It also relates to a wall equipped with at least one such device.
[0002] In this application, a wall is understood to mean any separation, hollow or solid, non-load-bearing such as a partition or load-bearing such as a wall, installed, in particular, in a building or structure, more particularly in a high-security building or structure.
[0003] Fire passage devices, also called passage cat flaps, allow the temporary passage, from one space (or room or room) to another, of electrical or fluid connection elements such as cables or conduits, generally flexible, through a wall, generally fire-resistant, separating the two spaces, while allowing, in the event of a fire in at least one of the spaces, to ensure the fire-resistant integrity of the wall.
[0004] Temporary passage of cables / conduits through a wall using these fire-resistant passage devices is generally carried out during a maintenance operation.
[0005] These fire-resistant passage devices provide an alternative to the previous solution of temporarily passing cables / conduits through access doors. This is because doors can damage cables / conduits passing through them when closed, and in the case of fire doors, particularly in high-security buildings, these must remain closed when not in normal use.
[0006] These fire passage devices generally include:
[0007] - a sleeve (or sheath) suitable and intended to be housed in a core sample or tunnel which is made in a wall opening out on its two external faces to form a passage through the latter, the sleeve, generally metallic or steel, having at its two ends an inlet / outlet opening for the passage of cables or conduits entering / leaving the sleeve from / to one of the spaces separated by the wall. The sleeve comprises an internal part housed in the core sample and an external part forming a collar located outside or outside the wall. The collar forms at its end the inlet / outlet opening. The sleeve generally consists of a one-piece sleeve incorporating the collars at its ends or of two half-sleeves each incorporating at one of its ends the corresponding collar and each being fixed by a support plate on the relevant external face of the wall,
[0008] - and a shutter for closing the inlet / outlet opening.
[0009] Each shutter comprises a cover in the form of a plate that can be moved between an open position and a closed position of the inlet / outlet opening. A horizontal pivot axis mounted in a hinge fixed to the collar and extending above the latter parallel to the wall allows the pivoting of the cover, and therefore of the shutter, articulated around this axis. This positioning of the axis ensures a stable position of the cover in its closed position reached by the effect of gravity due to the offset position of the axis relative to the plane of the cover. The edge of the inlet / outlet opening of the collar forms a seat for the cover. The seat is generally inclined relative to the plane of the wall or the axis of the collar or sleeve (or half-sleeve) in order to allow, in the closed position of the cover obtained by gravity, a support of the latter against the seat of the collar allowing the closing of the inlet / outlet opening to be ensured.
[0010] The shutter of these passage fire-resistant devices is also generally provided with a plug made of intumescent material configured and arranged on the internal face of the cover so as to be inserted into the inlet / outlet opening of the collar in the closed position of the cover against the seat of the collar. Thus, in the event of a fire, in the closed position of the cover, the intumescent plug allows, by its expansion, particularly in the collar, to prevent the spread of the fire in the core sample through the wall.
[0011] Such a passage fire-stop device is disclosed, for example, in document EP0524078.
[0012] There are also known passage fire-resistant devices which do not include a sleeve (or half-sleeves) extending partly inside the wall and partly outside the latter to form the inlet / outlet opening located outside the wall. They include two support plates, each provided with a collar similar to the collar described above and including the inlet / outlet opening. Each support plate is a metal or steel plate pierced with an orifice and the collar is fixed to the support plate, extending in line with the orifice. Such a passage fire-resistant device is, for example, manufactured and marketed by the company NUVIATECH under the commercial reference "NuCAT 5210".
[0013] However, these passage fire-resistant devices have a high manufacturing cost, in particular due to the production of the collar, metal or steel, requiring numerous components and / or welding points. Indeed, each passage fire-resistant device requires a sleeve (or half-sleeves), where appropriate with a support plate for fixing the sleeve (or each half-sleeve) to form the collar or to produce a collar attached and fixed by welding on a metal support plate. In addition, these passage fire-resistant devices have a bulk outside the wall which can pose a problem due to the collar which protrudes from the wall and can lead to risks of snagging with the latter or prevent the positioning of equipment against the wall.
[0014] The present invention aims to overcome these drawbacks.
[0015] The fire-resistant passage device, according to the present invention, for a wall, preferably a fire-resistant wall, the wall separating two spaces, in particular in a building or structure, more particularly a high-security building or structure, the wall having two opposite external faces and being crossed by at least one passage opening onto its two opposite external faces to allow the temporary passage of electrical or fluid connection elements through the wall, the passage fire-resistant device being dedicated to the or one of the passage(s) provided in the wall and comprising one or two passage fire-resistant units each comprising an inlet / outlet opening, a plate-shaped support, called a support plate, and a shutter comprising a movable cover, around a pivot axis, between an open position of the inlet / outlet opening and a closed position of the latter, said shutter being further provided with a plug made of intumescent material integral with the cover, the support plate being suitable and intended to be fixed on one of the two external faces of the wall so that the plug can be inserted, at least in part, in the closed position of the cover, into the inlet / outlet opening by extending into the dedicated passage, characterized in that the support plate of the passage fire-resistant unit or of each passage fire-resistant unit has a through opening forming the entry / exit opening of the passage fire-resistant unit.,
[0016] The present invention also relates to a wall, preferably a fire-resistant wall, equipped with at least one passage fire-resistant device, said wall having two opposite external faces and creating a separation between two spaces, in particular in a building or structure, more particularly a high-security building, the wall comprising at least one passage opening on its two external faces to allow the temporary passage of electrical or fluid connection elements through the wall, the or each passage fire-resistant device being dedicated to the or one of the passage(s), characterized in that the or each passage fire-resistant device consists of a passage fire-resistant device according to the present invention, the support plate of the fire-resistant unit or of each fire-resistant unit being fixed on one of the two external faces of the wall so that the plug can be inserted, at least in part, in the closed position of the shutter,in the inlet / outlet opening of the corresponding fire unit extending into the dedicated passage.,
[0017] The invention will be better understood from the following description, which relates to a preferred embodiment, given as a non-limiting example, and explained with reference to the appended schematic drawings, in which:
[0018] [Fig. 1] is a schematic cross-sectional view of a wall according to the present invention equipped with a passage fire-stop device according to the present invention,

[0020] [Fig. 3] is a schematic cross-sectional view of a wall according to the present invention equipped with a fire-break passage device according to the present invention, in another variant of the sealing plugs,
[0021] [Fig. 4] shows the wall shown in Figure 1, in a configuration with cables passing through the wall via the fire-break device,
[0022] [Fig. 5] is a perspective view of a fire stopping unit of the passage fire stopping device shown in Figure 1 or 4,
[0023] [Fig. 6] is a partial schematic perspective view of a wall according to the present invention equipped with a fire-stopping passage device according to the present invention, in a configuration with cables passing through the hollow wall via the passage device.
[0024] The figures show a fire-resistant passage device, according to the present invention, for a wall P, preferably for a fire-resistant wall P. Such a wall P is intended to separate two spaces (or premises or rooms or zones), in particular in a building or structure, more particularly in a high-security building or structure. The wall P has two opposite external faces P1 and is crossed by at least one passage P2 opening onto its two opposite external faces P1 to allow the temporary passage of electrical or fluid connection elements C, such as cables or conduits, in particular flexible ones, through the wall P, i.e. through the thickness of the wall P.
[0025] A wall P is understood to mean any vertical separation, hollow or solid, non-load-bearing such as a partition or load-bearing such as a wall, installed, in particular, in a building or structure, more particularly in a high-security building or structure.
[0026] The passage fire-resistant device is dedicated to one or more of the P2 passages provided in the P wall and comprises one or two fire-resistant units, each comprising:
[0027] - an inlet / outlet opening 10,
[0028] - a support 1 in the form of a plate, called support plate 1,
[0029] - and a shutter 2.
[0030] The closure flap 2 comprises a cover 20 which can move, in particular by gravity, around a pivot axis 3, between an open position of the inlet / outlet opening 10 and a closed position of the latter. The closure flap 2 is further provided with a plug 21 made of intumescent material secured to the cover 20.
[0031] The support plate 1 is suitable and intended to be fixed on one of the two external faces P1 of the wall P so that the plug 21 can be inserted, at least in part, in the closed position of the cover 20, in the inlet / outlet opening 10 by extending into the dedicated passage P2 of the wall P.
[0032] According to the present invention, the support plate 1 of the fire-resistant unit or of each fire-resistant unit comprises a through opening forming the inlet / outlet opening 10 of the passage fire-resistant unit.
[0033] It is also understood that the fire-resistant device may include:
[0034] - a (single) fire-resistant passage unit fixed on one of the external faces of wall P,
[0035] - or, as shown in Figures 1 to 4 and 6, two passage fire-stop units suitable and intended to be fixed respectively on the two external faces P1 of the wall P, preferably being aligned and centered on the axis X of the passage P2. By "aligned and centered" is meant the fact that the center of the inlet / outlet opening 10, and / or the axis X' of the plug 21 in the closed position of the cover 20, of each passage fire-stop unit, is located on or substantially on (or coincident with) the axis X of the passage P2 (see in particular Figures 2, 3).
[0036] It is also understood that the inlet / outlet opening 10 extends in the plane of the support plate 1 and that the inlet / outlet opening 10 opens onto each face of the support plate 1. It is also understood that the inlet / outlet opening 10, in the state fixed on the wall P, is located in the axis or opposite the dedicated passage P2 provided in the wall P.
[0037] Preferably, the support plate 1 of the or each passage fire-resistant unit is suitable and intended to be fixed on the external face P1 of the wall P so that the inlet / outlet opening 10 is centered on the axis X of the passage P2, that is to say so that the center of the inlet / outlet opening 10 is located on or substantially on the axis X of the passage P2.
[0038] The support plate 1 is preferably a metal or steel plate, preferably a thin plate, i.e. of low thickness. Preferably, the support plate 1 (thin) has a thickness preferably between 2 mm and 10 mm, more preferably between 4 mm and 6 mm. The inlet / outlet opening 10 of the or each support plate 1 may, for example, be made by drilling or cutting, for example using a laser or high-pressure water jet, in such a plate. The two opposite faces (or sides) of the support plate 1 are the two faces on each of which the through inlet / outlet opening opens, i.e. which passes through the support plate 1 perpendicular to these two faces.
[0039] The cover 20 is preferably made of a plate, preferably metal or steel. Such a plate may be similar in thickness to the support plate 1 or have a thickness in the range mentioned above.
[0040] Preferably, the inlet / outlet opening 10 is circular, this in order to fit the inlet of the passage P2, the passage P2 being generally cylindrical in shape with circular open ends. The passage P2 is also known as coring, i.e. resulting from an action consisting of taking by cutting in and through the wall P a sample of cylindrical shape.
[0041] The cap 21 of the or each flap 2 can be fixed to the cover 20, more particularly to the internal face of the cover 20, for example, using at least one metal screw 4. Preferably, at least one of the screws 4 passes centrally (or axially) through the cap 21. The cap 21 can be fixed by other means, possibly supplementing or adding, for example supplementing the fixing by screws 4, such as, for example, by gluing in order to reinforce the fixing of the cap 21 on the cover 20. The fixing by screws has the advantage of creating a removable connection and of being able to replace the cap 21 in the event of deterioration or wear.
[0042] In the closed position of the cover 20, the axis X' of the plug 21 is substantially parallel and / or coincident with the axis X of the passage P2 (figures 2 and 3) or slightly inclined (figure 1). When connecting elements C pass through the passage P2 and the inlet / outlet openings 10, the cover 20 is then slightly inclined in an open position allowing the connecting elements C to pass in particular between the plug 21 and the edge of the inlet / outlet opening 10 (figures 1, 4 and 6). In this open position, as can be seen in figures 4 and 6, the plug 21 rests or is supported by its own weight on the connecting elements C and inserted partly into the inlet / outlet opening 10 and into the passage P2.
[0043] The pivot axis 3 around which the or each cover 20 (or shutter 2) is articulated is oriented horizontally when the passage fire-resistant device is installed / mounted on the wall P. The pivot axis 3 forms a pivot connection between the cover 20 (or the shutter 2) and the support plate 1. The pivot axis 3 is slightly offset from the plane of the support plate 1. The pivot axis 3 may be constituted by the pivot (or the rod or pin) of a hinge mounted on the support plate 1 and the cover 20.
[0044] The pivot axis 3 of the or each passage fire-resistant unit is fixed to the support plate 1 so as to extend above the corresponding inlet / outlet opening 10 when the support plate 1 is fixed to the relevant external face P1 of the wall P.
[0045] In the case where the device is installed in a hollow wall (figures 1 to 6 attached), for example a hollow wall of the partition type, in particular a fire-resistant one, comprising two plates, for example of the gypsum-based plate type, in particular known under the name of “BA13 plate”, more particularly under the registered trademarks “PROMATECT” or “AESTUVER”, spaced from each other and each forming one of the sides (or one of the external faces P1) of the partition (figure 6), the present invention may provide that the fire-resistant device of passage further comprises a sheath 5 suitable and intended to be inserted into the passage P2. The passage P2 in the case of such a partition P is formed by two facing core holes provided in the two plates of the wall P and by the space separating the two core holes. It is understood that the sheath 5 is inserted into at least one of the core holes, preferably by extending into the space separating the latter. Preferably, the sheath 5 is simply inserted without being fixed in the passage P2, that is to say in one and / or the other of the core holes, but can also be fixed, for example by gluing, on the internal surface of one and / or the other of the core holes. The sheath 5 can be made in two parts, for example two half-sheaths, each being inserted into one of the core holes. The sheath 5 can be made from a sheet metal, preferably perforated to reduce thermal conduction in the passage 2, where appropriate between the two fire-resistant units. The sheath 5 thus makes it possible to create a tunnel in the passage P2 at the level of the hollow part of the wall P allowing the plug(s) 21 made of intumescent material to be able to expand in the event of a fire in the sheath 5 and close the passage P2. Such a sheath 5 is therefore not necessary in a solid wall P, for example a wall of the solid concrete wall type. Of course, such a sheath 5 can be provided in any type of hollow wall P requiring the creation of a tunnel to form the passage P2 and preserve the effectiveness of the expansion of the plug 21 in the event of a fire.
[0046] The support plate 1 (of the or each fire-resistant unit) can be fixed by any suitable fixing / assembly means such as for example at least one bolt or at least one screw. It can be seen in Figures 1 to 6 that the fixing means is suitable for a wall of the hollow partition type as described above, and comprises at least one bolt system comprising a threaded rod 8 and two nuts 9. The threaded rod 8 passes through the wall P and the support plates 1 which are each fixed by being pressed against the external face P1 of the wall under the effect of the nuts screwed onto the respective ends of the threaded rod 8. In the case of a solid wall P, for example a solid concrete wall, screws with or without dowels can allow the fixing of each support plate 1 in the wall P.
[0047] Preferably, as can be seen in Figures 1, 3 to 6, the plug 21 of the fire unit or of at least one of the two fire units comprises:
[0048] - a plug body 210 made of intumescent material suitable and intended to be inserted, in the closed position of the cover 20 (or of the closure flap 2), into the inlet / outlet opening 10 by extending into the dedicated passage P2 of the wall P,
[0049] - and a peripheral collar 211 having a diameter greater than that of the inlet / outlet opening 10 so as to come, in the closed position of the cover 20 (or of the closing flap 2), to bear on a flat surface 11 of the support plate 1 around the edge of the inlet / outlet opening 10 to close the inlet / outlet opening 10. It is understood that the flat surface 11 is the external surface of one of the two opposite faces of the support plate 1, that is to say the face of the support plate 1 which is turned towards the plug 21, the other opposite face being turned towards the passage P2 (in the state of functional fixing on the wall P2).
[0050] Preferably, the collar 211 is integrated into the cap 21 by being molded with the cap body 210.
[0051] Preferably, the collar 211 is made of the same material as the plug body 210.
[0052] Preferably, the collar 211 has a flat face, called the bearing face 212, capable and intended to come, in the closed position of the cover 20, to bear on the flat surface 11 (visible in particular in FIG. 5) of the support plate 1 around the edge of the inlet / outlet opening 10, thus creating a seal for the latter.
[0053] In a particular embodiment of the collar 212, as can be seen in FIG. 3, the bearing face 212 is perpendicular to the axis X' of the cap 21. Preferably, it is also parallel to the plane of the cover 20. Preferably, the bearing face 212 has a circular or disc shape.
[0054] In another particular embodiment of the collar 212, as can be seen in FIGS. 1, 4 to 6, the bearing face 212 is oblique relative to the axis X' of the cap 21. Preferably, it is also inclined or oblique relative to the plane of the cover 20. Preferably, the bearing face 212 has an elliptical shape.
[0055] Preferably, the collar 212 may, as can be seen in FIGS. 1 to 6, have a cylindrical or crown shape, one of the ends (or end faces) of which forms the bearing face 212. The other opposite end (or end face) may, preferably, be applied to (or against) the internal face of the cover 12.
[0056] Preferably, in the closed position of the cover 20, in the state of fixing on the wall P, the support face 212 is perpendicular to the axis X of the passage P2 (figures 1 and 3).
[0057] If we now refer to Figure 2, we can see that the plug 21 of the fire-stop unit or of at least one of the two fire-stop units does not have a collar 211. Preferably, in this case, the plug 21 of the fire-stop unit or of at least one of the two fire-stop units may have a flared or frustoconical shape so as to come to bear, by its flared or frustoconical external wall (or surface or face), in the closed position of the cover 20 (or of the closing flap 2), on the edge of the inlet / outlet opening 10 of the corresponding fire-stop unit to thus close the corresponding inlet / outlet opening 10.
[0058] According to a characteristic of the present invention, the passage fire-resistant device may further comprise a system for locking the closure flap 2 in the latter's closed position. Such a locking system may comprise at least one threaded rod 60 suitable and intended to be fixed in the support plate 1, in particular perpendicular to the latter, and at least one nut 7. The cover 20 of the closure flap 2 may then comprise a locking opening 22 suitable and intended to be crossed by the threaded rod 60 in the shutter 2's closed position. Preferably, to form the locking opening 22, the cover 20 may comprise a fork 23 comprising two spaced fingers forming between them a space defining the locking opening 22. Preferably, the locking opening 22 may be located diametrically opposite the pivot axis 3.Locking is then achieved by screwing nut 7 onto the end of threaded rod 60 which protrudes from locking opening 22 of cover 20. Threaded rod 60 may be the shank of a screw 6 which may be screwed through support plate 1. Support plate 1 may include a cavity 12 for receiving head 61 of screw 6 so that head 61 does not protrude from support plate 1, thereby. perfectly press the support plate 1 onto the relevant external face P1 of the wall P. Such a locking system is particularly suitable in the embodiment of the plug 21 without the collar 211 (figure 2) or with the collar 211 having a bearing face 212 perpendicular to the axis X' of the plug 21 (figure 3) in order to improve and / or reinforce the support of the sealing face 212 against the support plate 1.
[0059] The present invention also relates to such a wall P, preferably fire-resistant, equipped with at least one passage fire-resistant device.
[0060] According to the present invention, in such a wall P, the or each passage fire-stop device consists of a passage fire-stop device according to the present invention and the support plate 1 of the fire-stop unit or of each fire-stop unit of the passage fire-stop device or of one of the passage fire-stop devices being fixed on one of the two external faces P1 of the wall P so that the plug 21 can be inserted, at least in part, in the closed position of the cover 20, into the inlet / outlet opening 10 of the corresponding fire-stop unit by extending into the dedicated passage P2.
[0061] Thus, thanks to such a passage fire-resistant device or such a P wall equipped with at least one such passage fire-resistant device, it has in particular the following advantages:
[0062] - it makes it possible to obtain a reduced manufacturing cost and in particular lower than current devices which require a sleeve or two half-sleeves to produce the metal or steel collars or to produce added parts forming the collars and to fix them by welding on support plates. The present invention uses only the support plate 1, that is to say without being provided with a metal or steel collar as in the devices of the prior art to form the inlet / outlet opening, with a plug 21 adapted in its shape or by integrating a collar 211 to ensure the closure of the inlet / outlet opening in the closed position of the cover 20,
[0063] - it makes it possible to reduce the size of the fire-resistant device outside the wall and to avoid having any attachment element protruding from the latter on the outside since, unlike current devices, it does not have of metal or steel collar extending outside the wall perpendicular to the latter,
[0064] - the reduced weight of the support plate 1 according to the present invention which is flat by nature and is not provided with a metal or steel collar more particularly allows the installation of the passage fire-resistant device according to the present invention in a wall of the fire partition type whose sides are made with fire-resistant plates, because due to the fact that the weight is reduced and the external bulk is also reduced, in the event of fire and / or earthquake the fixing of the passage fire-resistant device is less stressed than with the known devices of the prior art.
[0065] Of course, the invention is not limited to the embodiment described and shown in the attached drawings. Modifications remain possible, particularly from the point of view of the constitution of the various elements or by substitution of technical equivalents, without departing from the scope of protection of the invention.
