[0033] The second viewer terminal 5, for example, has at least one processor and a memory in which a program executed by the processor is stored, and is configured to be able to realize various functions by software or a combination of software and hardware.

[0034] The second viewer terminal 5 is capable of receiving content data from the second video distribution device 2 and presenting the content to the viewer using a display means, an audio means, etc. (not shown).

[0035] FIG. 2 is a schematic diagram illustrating an example of a video distribution process performed by the video distribution system S according to the embodiment.

[0036] The video distribution system S is a video distribution system that simultaneously distributes content data to a viewer at a first viewer terminal 4 and a viewer at a second viewer terminal 5 based on content data acquired from a distributor terminal 3. Simultaneous distribution corresponds to simultaneous distribution or simulcast distribution. Simultaneous distribution includes parallel distribution. Simultaneous distribution includes distributing content on multiple platforms or channels. A first video distribution device 1 distributes content to a first viewer terminal 4 on a first platform. A user (viewer) of the first viewer terminal 4 views the content distributed via a first distribution service provided by the first video distribution device 1. A second video distribution device 2 distributes content to a second viewer terminal 5 on a second platform different from the first platform. A user (viewer) of the second viewer terminal 5 views the content distributed via a second distribution service provided by the second video distribution device 2.

[0037] The first distribution service is, for example, a content distribution service that distributes content to registered member viewers. The first distribution service may provide a service that enables communication between distributors and member viewers, such as registering follower relationships and providing gifts (tipping). The first distribution service may provide videos with higher image quality than the second distribution service.

[0038] The second distribution service is a distribution service different from the first distribution service. The second distribution service is, for example, a content distribution service that distributes content to unspecified viewers. The unspecified viewers include, for example, viewers who have not registered as members of the first distribution service and / or the second distribution service. Viewers of the second distribution service can view content without registering as members of the second distribution service. The first distribution service and the second distribution service may be services provided by different operators or may be services provided by the same operator. The differences between the first distribution service and the second distribution service are not limited to those described above.

[0039] The first distribution service and the second distribution service may be content distribution services that simultaneously distribute live broadcast content. The first distribution service and the second distribution service may be content distribution services that simultaneously distribute recorded video content.

[0040] The first video distribution device 1 acquires content data from the distributor terminal 3. The content data includes live broadcast content data for real-time distribution and recorded video content. Recorded video content is also referred to as recorded content. In the following description, the content data is assumed to be content data for live broadcast content. The content data acquired from the distributor terminal 3 is also referred to as main content data. The content data is also referred to as content. The main content data is also referred to as main content. The content distribution unit 111 of the first video distribution device 1 distributes the main content data to the first viewer terminal 4. The first video distribution device 1 may distribute the main content data based on a distribution instruction output from the distributor terminal 3. The distribution instruction is, for example, an instruction to start distribution of content input to the distributor terminal 3 based on the operation of the user of the distributor terminal 3. The first video distribution device 1 may distribute the main content data based on progress schedule data associated with the main content data. The progress schedule indicates a schedule based on the progress times of the content, etc. The progress schedule may be a program configuration template. The progress chart includes progress time, elapsed time, or events. Progress time includes the start and end times of content distribution, the start and end times of each event included in the content, and times indicating arbitrarily set conditions. Events indicate items that represent details of the content. Events include, for example, opening, free talk, questionnaire, game, and ending. Events may also include information about performers. Events are also referred to as the content of the content. Elapsed time indicates the time elapsed from the start of the content or the time elapsed from the start of each event. In the following description, "distribute" may be read as "send."

[0041] The generation unit 113 of the first video distribution device 1 generates content data based on the main content data according to the distribution mode, for distribution to the second viewer terminal 5 via the second video distribution device 2. The content data for distribution to the second viewer terminal 5 is also referred to as processed content data. The generation unit 113 of the first video distribution device 1 generates processed content data in the restricted mode. The processed content data is content data for making content viewable on the second viewer terminal 5. The processed content data is content data different from the main content data. The processed content data is content data related to the main content. The processed content data is content data that can be distributed on a second platform different from the first platform simultaneously with distribution of the main content data on the first platform that distributes the main content data. The processed content data may, for example, partially include the main content data. The processed content data may include a portion of the main content. The processed content data may include a portion of the main content data and content data different from the main content data. The processed content data may, for example, be content data obtained by cutting out a certain amount of video from the main content data. The processed content data may be content data obtained by cutting out only a certain period of audio from the main content data. The processed content data may be content data including a video that repeats a certain period of video included in the main content data. The processed content data may include information about the main content. The processed content data may be main content data that has been subjected to mosaic processing. The processed content data may be processed data that displays comments posted on the main content on top of the main content video. The information about the main content includes text information about the main content data. The text information may include, for example, a text message such as "Continue watching on distribution service XXX (where "XXX" is the name of the first distribution service)" that guides viewers to watch the main content. The information about the main content includes information for viewing the main content. The information for viewing the main content includes link information that allows access to the main content. The information for viewing the main content may be information that identifies a distribution service through which the main content can be viewed. The information that identifies a distribution service may include, for example, identification information of the distribution service, the name of the distribution service, the URL (Uniform Resource Locator) of the distribution service, etc. The information about the main content may include information that indicates the progress of the main content. The information that indicates the progress includes information that indicates an event, information that indicates the excitement, etc. Processed content data is also called processed content.

[0042] The first video distribution device 1 may generate the processed content data based on an operation by a distributor of the main content. The first video distribution device 1 may generate the processed content data based on a switching instruction output from the distributor terminal 3. The switching instruction is, for example, an instruction to switch the distribution mode for distributing content via the second distribution service, which is input to the distributor terminal 3 based on an operation by a user of the distributor terminal 3. The distribution mode for distributing content via the second distribution service is also simply referred to as a distribution mode. The distribution modes include a restricted mode and an unrestricted mode. The restricted mode is a mode in which distribution of content via the second distribution service is restricted. The restricted mode is a mode in which the main content is distributed only via the first distribution service. The restricted mode is a mode in which the processed content is distributed via the second distribution service. The restricted mode is a mode in which the main content is distributed via the first platform and simultaneously distributed via the second platform. The restricted mode may be a mode in which only member viewers of the first distribution service can view the content (main content). The unrestricted mode is a mode in which distribution of content via the second distribution service is not restricted. The unrestricted mode is a mode in which main content is distributed via the first distribution service and the second distribution service. The unrestricted mode is a mode in which main content is distributed via the first platform and also via the second platform. The unrestricted mode may be a mode in which all viewers can view the content.

[0043] The first video distribution device 1 may generate the processed content data based on the progress of the main content. The first video distribution device 1 may generate the processed content data based on progress chart data associated with the main content data. For example, the first video distribution device 1 may generate the processed content data based on tags attached to the progress chart data. The tags may indicate, for example, the start time and end time of each event. The first video distribution device 1 may generate the processed content data based on video of the main content data. For example, the first video distribution device 1 may generate the processed content data based on predetermined video. The predetermined video may include a gesture such as a performer waving their hand. The first video distribution device 1 may generate the processed content data based on the audio of the main content data. For example, the first video distribution device 1 may generate the processed content data at the timing of an audio switch. Examples of timings for an audio switch include a speaker stopping speaking, a speech interruption, an end of speaking, a different speaker starting speaking, the utterance of a specific phrase, the insertion of a sound effect, etc. The specific phrase may be, for example, a phrase such as "The content beyond this point is chargeable." The first video distribution device 1 may generate processed content data at a timing when the main content reaches a peak. The peak may be when the volume of the live broadcast content exceeds a predetermined value. The peak may be when the number of comments from viewers exceeds a predetermined number. The peak may be when the number of simultaneous viewers or the cumulative number of viewers exceeds a predetermined number.

[0044] The output unit 114 of the first video distribution device 1 outputs the main content or processed content to be distributed on the second platform to the second video distribution device 2. In the unrestricted mode, the output unit 114 outputs the main content to the second video distribution device 2. In this case, the output unit 114 outputs the main content to the second video distribution device 2 so that the main content is distributed on the second platform simultaneously while the main content is being distributed on the first platform. In the restricted mode, the output unit 114 outputs the processed content to the second video distribution device 2. In this case, the output unit 114 outputs the processed content to the second video distribution device 2 so that the processed content is distributed on the second platform while the main content is being distributed on the first platform.

[0045] The second video distribution device 2 distributes the content data output from the first video distribution device 1 to the second viewer terminal 5. The second video distribution device 2 may convert the content data into a format that can be distributed on the second platform.

[0046] The second viewer terminal 5 makes the processed content data viewable to the viewer of the second viewer terminal 5. The second viewer terminal 5 displays the processed content based on the processed content data, for example. The second viewer terminal 5 outputs audio based on the processed content data.

[0047] In the unrestricted mode, the viewer at the second viewer terminal 5 can view the main content on the second platform in the same way as the viewer at the first viewer terminal 4. In the restricted mode, the viewer at the second viewer terminal 5 can view processed content on the second platform that is different from the main content viewed by the viewer at the first viewer terminal 4.

[0048] 3 is a block diagram showing an example of the configuration of the first video distribution device 1 according to the embodiment. The first video distribution device 1 shown in FIG. 1 includes a control unit 11, a communication unit 12, a storage unit 13, and a timing unit 14.

[0049] The control unit 11 constitutes a computer corresponding to the central part of the first video distribution device 1. The control unit 11 includes one or more processors. The processor is typically a CPU (Central Processing Unit) and / or a GPU (Graphics Processing Unit), but may also be a microcomputer, an FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array), a DSP (Digital Signal Processor), or the like. The control unit 11 includes memory. The memory includes a ROM (Read Only Memory) as a non-volatile memory area. The memory includes a RAM (Random Access Memory) as a volatile memory area. The processor deploys a program stored in the ROM or the storage unit 13 into the RAM. The processor executes a program loaded in the RAM, and the control unit 11 controls the overall operation of the first moving image distribution device 1. The control unit 11 is an example of a processing circuit.

[0050] The communication unit 12 is a communication interface including a NIC (Network Interface Card controller) for wired or wireless communication, and communicates with the second video distribution device 2, the distributor terminal 3, and the first viewer terminal 4 via the network.

[0051] The storage unit 13 may be realized by a non-volatile storage medium such as a hard disk drive (HDD) or a solid state drive (SSD). The storage unit 13 stores content data received from the distributor terminal 3. The storage unit 13 stores the content data in association with content identification information. The content identification information is information capable of identifying each piece of content, and includes information such as a content ID or a content name. The content identification information may include genre information that identifies the type or genre of the content. The content identification information may include keyword information that indicates keywords included in the content. The content identification information may include information for accessing the content. The storage unit 13 may store the content data in association with identification information (user identification information) of the distributor or the distributor terminal 3.

[0052] The storage unit 13 may store progress table data associated with the content data. The storage unit 13 stores the progress table data in association with the content identification information.

[0053] The timing unit 14 is composed of an oscillator circuit and a variable PLL (Phase Locked Loop) for generating a clock signal, a counter circuit for counting the number of pulses of the clock signal, etc. The timing unit 14 measures the time based on the number of pulses counted. The control unit 11 executes various controls at timings based on the number of pulses counted by the timing unit 14. The control unit 11 also counts the elapsed time from the start of the content and determines whether a predetermined time has elapsed, based on the time measured by the timing unit 14.

[0054] The following describes the functional configuration of the control unit 11. The control unit 11 functions as a content acquisition unit 110, a content distribution unit 111, a determination unit 112, a generation unit 113, and an output unit 114. Each unit can be interpreted as the control unit 11 or a processor.

[0055] The content acquisition unit 110 acquires main content data from the distributor terminal 3 via the communication unit 12. The main content data is an example of first content that can be distributed on the first platform. The content acquisition unit 110 stores the content data in the storage unit 13. In the following description, "acquire" may be read as "receive."

[0056] The content distribution unit 111 distributes main content data to the first viewer terminal 4 via the communication unit 12. For example, the content distribution unit 111 receives a distribution instruction from the distributor terminal 3 via the network. In response to the distribution instruction received from the distributor terminal 3, the content distribution unit 111 retrieves the main content data for which the distribution instruction was received from the storage unit 13 and distributes the main content data to the first viewer terminal 4. The distribution instruction may include distributor identification information and content identification information. The content distribution unit 111 may distribute the main content data to the first viewer terminal 4 in response to a distribution request received from the first viewer terminal 4. The distribution request may include user identification information and content identification information. The content distribution unit 111 may distribute content data including comments on the main content input from the first viewer terminal 4. The content distribution unit 111 may distribute data in which the comments input from the first viewer terminal 4 have been added to the main content. The comment input from the first viewer terminal 4 may be synthesized or superimposed on the main content using known technology. The content distribution unit 111 may distribute content data including the comment input from the second viewer terminal 5 for the processed content distributed on the second platform. The content distribution unit 111 may distribute data in which the comment input from the second viewer terminal 5 is added to the processed content.

[0057] The content distribution unit 111 may manage the start and end of real-time distribution, for example, so that the distribution of content starts in real time when main content data is received and ends when the main content data ends. The content distribution unit 111 may manage the start and end of content data distribution based on time information obtained from the timing unit 14 and the distribution time of progress chart data associated with the content data.

[0058] The content distribution unit 111 may immediately discard the distributed content data, or may buffer the data for a predetermined period of time to enable replay or slow motion playback, for example.

[0059] The determination unit 112 determines a distribution mode for distributing content via a second distribution service. The distribution mode for distributing content via a second distribution service is also referred to as a distribution mode for distributing content on a second platform. In one example, the distribution mode for distributing content on the second platform is switched based on an operation by the distributor of the main content. The distribution mode includes a restricted mode and an unrestricted mode. The determination unit 112 may determine the distribution mode based on a switching instruction output from the distributor terminal 3. The determination unit 112 determines that the distribution mode has been switched from the unrestricted mode to the restricted mode based on a switching instruction from the distributor terminal 3 to the unrestricted mode. The determination unit 112 determines that the distribution mode has been switched from the restricted mode to the unrestricted mode based on a switching instruction from the distributor terminal 3 to the unrestricted mode.

[0060] In another example, the distribution mode for distributing content on the second platform is switched based on the progress of the main content. The determination unit 112 may determine the distribution mode based on progress chart data associated with the main content data. The determination unit 112 may determine that the distribution mode has been switched from restricted mode to unrestricted mode or from unrestricted mode to restricted mode, for example, based on a scene change. For example, the determination unit 112 may determine that the distribution mode should be switched to restricted mode at the timing of switching to a scene where a game starts. The progress chart data may include a tag for switching the distribution mode. The determination unit 112 may determine the distribution mode based on video of the main content data. For example, the determination unit 112 may determine that the distribution mode has been switched from restricted mode to unrestricted mode or from unrestricted mode to restricted mode based on the detection of a predetermined video. For example, the determination unit 112 may determine that the distribution mode should be switched to restricted mode based on a performer making a hand waving gesture in the main content. The determination unit 112 may determine the switching of the distribution mode based on, for example, a table in which predetermined video images are associated with switching of the distribution mode. The determination unit 112 may determine the distribution mode based on the audio of the main content data. The determination unit 112 may determine that the distribution mode has been switched from the restricted mode to the unrestricted mode or from the unrestricted mode to the restricted mode based on the timing at which the audio of the main content data switches. For example, the determination unit 112 may determine to switch the distribution mode to the restricted mode based on the detection of predetermined audio in the main content. The predetermined audio may be, for example, a sound effect. The determination unit 112 may determine the distribution mode based on the timing at which the main content becomes exciting. The determination unit 112 may determine that the distribution mode has been switched from the restricted mode to the unrestricted mode or from the unrestricted mode to the restricted mode based on the timing at which the main content becomes exciting. For example, the determination unit 112 may determine to switch the distribution mode to the restricted mode based on the detection of an exciting part of the main content.

[0061] Determining that the distribution mode has been switched from the restricted mode to the unrestricted mode corresponds to determining that the distribution mode at the time of the determination is the unrestricted mode. Determining that the distribution mode has been switched from the unrestricted mode to the restricted mode corresponds to determining that the distribution mode at the time of the determination is the restricted mode.

[0062] The determination unit 112 determines the end of the main content. The end of the main content may be interpreted as the end of distribution of the main content. The determination unit 112 may determine the end of the main content based on a distribution end instruction output from the distributor terminal 3. The distribution end instruction is, for example, an instruction to end distribution of content input to the distributor terminal 3 based on an operation by the user of the distributor terminal 3. The determination unit 112 may determine the end of the main content based on progress chart data associated with the main content data.

[0063] The generation unit 113 generates processed content data based on the main content data to be distributed to the second viewer terminal 5 via the second video distribution device 2. The processed content data is an example of second content that can be distributed on the second platform. The generation unit 113 generates the processed content data based on the determination result by the determination unit 112. The generation unit 113 generates the processed content data when the distribution mode for distributing content on the second platform is the restricted mode. The restricted mode is an example of a predetermined mode. The generation unit 113 may generate processed content data that includes a portion of the main content data. For example, the generation unit 113 may generate processed content data using main content data from an unrestricted mode period. The generation unit 113 may generate processed content data that includes content that loops the main content from an unrestricted mode period. The generation unit 113 may generate processed content data by combining main content data from multiple unrestricted mode periods. The generation unit 113 may generate processed content data that includes only the audio of the main content data. By generating processed content data that includes a portion of the main content data, the generation unit 113 can generate processed content that is likely to interest the viewer of the second viewer terminal 5 in the main content.

[0064] The generation unit 113 may generate processed content data including information about the main content data. The information about the main content data may include text information. The information about the main content may include information for viewing the main content. The information for viewing the main content may include, for example, the name of a distribution service on which the main content can be viewed, link information, etc. The information about the main content data may include a message directing the viewer to the first platform. The message directing the viewer to the first platform may include, for example, a text message such as "Continue on distribution service XXX (where "XXX" is the name of the first distribution service)." The information about the main content may include information indicating the progress of the main content. The information indicating the progress of the main content may include, for example, text messages such as "YYY is currently appearing," "The quiz will start soon," and "ZZZ will appear in 10 minutes." By generating processed content data including information about the main content data, the generation unit 113 can generate processed content that makes it easy for the viewer of the second viewer terminal 5 to start viewing the main content.

[0065] The generator 113 may generate processed content data including comments on the main content input from the first viewer terminal 4. The generator 113 may generate data in which data on the comments on the main content input from the first viewer terminal 4 is added to the processed content data. The generator 113 may synthesize or superimpose the comments input from the first viewer terminal 4 onto the processed content using known technology.

[0066] The output unit 114 outputs the main content data or the processed content data to the second video distribution device 2. When the distribution mode for distributing content on the second platform is the unrestricted mode, the output unit 114 outputs the main content data to the second video distribution device 2. When the distribution mode for distributing content on the second platform is the unrestricted mode, the output unit 114 outputs the main content to the second video distribution device 2 so that the main content is distributed on the second platform simultaneously with the distribution of the main content on the first platform. When the distribution mode for distributing content on the second platform is the restricted mode, the output unit 114 outputs the processed content data to the second video distribution device 2. When the distribution mode for distributing content on the second platform is the restricted mode, the output unit 114 outputs the processed content to the second video distribution device 2 so that the processed content is distributed on the second platform simultaneously with the distribution of the main content on the first platform.

[0067] The output unit 114 may correct the delay between the processed content data and the main content data distributed from the content distribution unit 111 and output the processed content data to the second video distribution device 2. For example, the delay may differ between the first platform and the second platform due to differences in encoding methods, etc. The output unit 114 measures, for example, the time lag between the content distributed on the first platform and the content distributed on the second platform. The output unit 114 delays the main content or the processed content according to the larger delay between the main content and the processed content. For example, if the main content has a delay of 5 seconds and the processed content has a delay of 10 seconds, the output unit 114 delays the main content by an additional 5 seconds to match the delay of the main content and the delay of the processed content. The output unit 114 outputs the delay-corrected processed content to the second video distribution device 2. The output unit 114 may acquire a time lag between the content distributed on the first platform and the content distributed on the second platform measured for each viewer terminal, and correct the delay. When the control unit 11 outputs data in which a comment input from the first viewer terminal 4 regarding the main content has been added to the main content data to the second video distribution device 2, the control unit 11 may also correct the delay for the comment.

[0068] (Display Example) A mode switching image displayed on the distributor terminal 3 will now be described. The mode switching image is an image in which the distribution mode for distributing content on the second platform is switched by an operation of the distributor. Fig. 4 is a diagram schematically illustrating a display example of a mode switching image Im1 displayed on the distributor terminal 3 of the embodiment. The example of Fig. 4 assumes that the distribution mode is switched based on an operation of the distributor of the main content.

[0069] In the example shown in FIG. 4 , it is assumed that a broadcaster is broadcasting live broadcast content. The mode switching image Im1 includes a content display area A1 that displays the live broadcast content. The mode switching image Im1 includes at least a mode switching button display area A2, a mode display area A3, a broadcast time display area A4, and a broadcast end button B1. The mode switching button display area A2 includes a mode switching button that allows the broadcaster to input a command to switch the broadcast mode. For example, when the broadcaster switches the broadcast mode for broadcasting content on the second platform to unrestricted mode, the broadcaster selects the unrestricted broadcast mode button by touch input or the like. When the broadcaster switches the broadcast mode for broadcasting content on the second platform to restricted mode, the broadcaster selects the broadcast mode button by touch input or the like. The mode switching button display area A2 may include a text message that includes a description of the broadcast mode. For example, when the broadcast mode is unrestricted mode, the mode switching button display area A2 includes a message such as "All users are currently viewing." When the distribution mode is the restricted mode, the mode switching button display area A2 may include a message indicating that the content is only available to viewers on the first platform.

[0070] The mode display area A3 is an area that displays the current distribution mode for distributing content on the second platform. For example, if the distribution mode for distributing content on the second platform is the unrestricted mode, the mode display area A3 displays the unrestricted mode in a manner that makes it recognizable. For example, the mode display area A3 may light up the portion that displays "unrestricted mode." The mode display area A3 may also gray out the display of distribution modes that are different from the current distribution mode.

[0071] The distribution time display area A4 is an area for displaying time information related to the main content. The time information may include a display indicating the elapsed time from the start of the main content. The time information may also include a countdown display indicating the remaining time of the main content.

[0072] The distribution end button B1 is a button with which the distributor can input a distribution end instruction. For example, when the distributor wants to end the distribution of the main content, the distributor selects the distribution end button B1 by touch input or the like.

[0073] The mode switching image Im1 may include a distribution start button that allows the distributor to input a distribution instruction.

[0074] According to this example, a distributor can switch the distribution mode for distributing content on the second platform simply by operating a mode switching button. The distributor can select the content to distribute on the second platform simply by switching the distribution mode. For example, by selecting the unrestricted mode, the distributor can simultaneously distribute the main content on the first platform and the second platform. Alternatively, by selecting the restricted mode, the distributor can simultaneously distribute different content on the first platform and the second platform. The distributor can distribute the main content on the first platform and simultaneously distribute processed content on the second platform. The first video distribution device 1 generates processed content based on a distribution mode switching instruction and can simultaneously distribute the main content and content different from the main content related to the main content on multiple platforms. The first video distribution device 1 can output processed content related to the main content to the second video distribution device 2 and distribute the processed content on the second platform via the second video distribution device 2. This allows the first video distribution device 1 to create a path to attract viewers who watch the processed content on the second platform to the first platform. In this way, the first moving image distribution device 1 can help guide viewers from other distribution services to the first distribution service.

[0075] Although an example of the display of the mode switching image displayed on the distributor terminal 3 has been described with reference to FIG. 4, the display example on the distributor terminal 3 is not limited to this.

[0076] (Operation Example) The operation of the first video distribution device 1 will be described. The processing procedure described below is merely an example, and each process may be changed as much as possible. Depending on the embodiment, each process of the processing procedure may be omitted or replaced, and new processes may also be added.

[0077] 5 is a flowchart illustrating an example of information processing operations for distributing content on a second platform in the first video distribution device 1 according to an embodiment. The following processing will be described using an example in which a distributor distributes live broadcast content (live streaming). The first video distribution device 1 sequentially acquires live broadcast content from the distributor terminal 3 and distributes the live broadcast content to the first viewer terminal 4 on the first platform. The live broadcast content is main content.

[0078] The following process is an example of an information processing operation for distributing content on a second platform by a video distribution system S. The video distribution system S distributes main content on a first platform and, at the same time, distributes main content or processed content on a second platform.

[0079] The control unit 11 acquires main content data (first content) from the distributor terminal 3 (step S1). Step S1 may be processed by the content acquisition unit 110. In step S1, for example, the control unit 11 sequentially acquires live broadcast content from the distributor terminal 3. Note that the control unit 11 may also sequentially acquire live broadcast content from the storage unit 13.

[0080] The control unit 11 determines whether the distribution mode for distributing the content via the second distribution service is the restricted mode (step S2). Step S2 may be performed by the determination unit 112. In step S2, for example, the control unit 11 may determine the distribution mode based on the distribution mode associated with the main content data.

[0081] In one example, the distribution mode is switched based on an operation by the distributor of the main content. In this case, the control unit 11 switches the distribution mode based on a switching instruction output from the distributor terminal 3. The control unit 11 associates the distribution mode with the main content data and stores it in the storage unit 13. The control unit 11 determines whether the distribution mode is the restricted mode based on the distribution mode associated with the main content data.

[0082] In another example, the distribution mode is switched based on the progress of the main content. In this case, the control unit 11 may determine the distribution mode based on progress chart data associated with the main content data. The control unit 11 may determine the distribution mode based on the video of the main content data. The control unit 11 may determine the distribution mode based on the audio of the main content data. The control unit 11 may determine the distribution mode based on the timing of the excitement of the main content. The control unit 11 associates the distribution mode with the main content data and stores it in the storage unit 13. The control unit 11 determines whether the distribution mode is the restricted mode based on the distribution mode associated with the main content data.

[0083] If the distribution mode is the restricted mode (step S2: YES), the process performed by the control unit 11 proceeds from step S2 to step S4. If the distribution mode is not the restricted mode (step S2: NO), the process performed by the control unit 11 proceeds from step S2 to step S3.

[0084] Based on the determination that the distribution mode is not the restricted mode, the control unit 11 outputs the main content to the second video distribution device 2 (step S3). Step S3 may be processed by the output unit 114. In step S3, for example, the control unit 11 outputs the main content acquired in step S1 to the second video distribution device 2. The second video distribution device 2 distributes content based on the main content to the second viewer terminal 5 on the second platform. The control unit 11 may output main content data including comments on the main content input from the first viewer terminal 4 to the second video distribution device 2. The control unit 11 may also output data in which comments input from the first viewer terminal 4 on the main content have been added to the main content data to the second video distribution device 2. The control unit 11 may output data in which the comments are combined or superimposed on the main content data, or may output the main content data and the comment data separately.

[0085] The control unit 11 may correct the delay between the main content distributed on the first platform and the main content distributed on the second platform and output the main content to the second video distribution device 2. By correcting the delay of content data distributed on different platforms and outputting the content data, the control unit 11 can synchronize the progress of content even between different platforms. For example, the control unit 11 can synchronize the delay between the main content distributed on the second platform and the main content distributed on the first platform by correcting the delay of the main content distributed on the second platform and outputting the content data to the second video distribution device 2. This allows the first video distribution device 1 to prevent spoilers and other problems caused by the content progressing too quickly via one of the platforms.

[0086] The control unit 11 generates processed content data based on the fact that the distribution mode is the restricted mode (step S4). Step S4 may be processed by the generation unit 113. In step S4, for example, the control unit 11 generates processed content data that can be distributed on the second platform based on the main content data acquired in step S1. The control unit 11 generates processed content data that includes a portion of the main content data. The control unit 11 may generate processed content data that includes main content data from the non-restricted mode period. The control unit 11 may generate processed content data that includes only the audio of the main content data. The control unit 11 may generate processed content data that includes information about the main content data. The control unit 11 may generate processed content data that includes information for viewing the main content. The control unit 11 may generate processed content data that includes information indicating the progress of the main content. The control unit 11 may store the processed content data in the storage unit 13.

[0087] The control unit 11 may generate processed content data that includes comments on the main content input from the first viewer terminal 4. The control unit 11 may generate data in which the data of the comments on the main content input from the first viewer terminal 4 is added to the processed content data.

[0088] The control unit 11 outputs the processed content data to the second video distribution device 2 (step S5). Step S5 may be processed by the output unit 114. In step S4, for example, the control unit 11 outputs the processed content data generated by the generation unit 113 to the second video distribution device 2. The second video distribution device 2 distributes content based on the processed content on the second platform to the second viewer terminal 5. Note that the control unit 11 may correct a delay between the main content distributed on the first platform and the processed content distributed on the second platform, and output the processed content to the second video distribution device 2. For example, the control unit 11 corrects the delay of the processed content distributed on the second platform to match the delay of the main content distributed on the first platform, and outputs the corrected content to the second video distribution device 2, thereby matching the delay between the processed content distributed from the second video distribution device 2 and the main content distributed from the first video distribution device 1. Therefore, the first video distribution device 1 can prevent spoilers and the like that would occur if the content progressed too quickly via one of the platforms.

[0089] The control unit 11 determines whether the main content has ended (step S6). Step S6 may be performed by the determination unit 112. In step S6, for example, the control unit 11 may determine whether the main content data has ended based on a distribution end instruction output from the distributor terminal 3. The determination unit 112 may determine whether the main content data has ended based on progress chart data associated with the main content data.

[0090] If the main content has ended (step S6: YES), the process ends. If the main content has not ended (step S6: NO), the process returns from step S6 to step S1. The control unit 11 repeats the process from step S1 to step S6 until the main content has ended.

[0091] If the main content data is a recorded content, the control unit 11 may acquire the recorded content from the distributor terminal 3 in step S1. In this case, if it is determined in step S6 that the content has not ended, the process may proceed from step S6 to step S2. The control unit 11 may also acquire the recorded content sequentially from the storage unit 13 in step S1.

[0092] According to this example, the first video distribution device 1 can output different content data to the second video distribution device 2 depending on the distribution mode. For example, by switching the distribution mode, a distributor can distribute the beginning part of the main content on both the first platform and the second platform, and distribute the remaining part only on the first platform. The first video distribution device 1 can generate processed content that can be distributed on the second platform based on the main content data and output it to the second video distribution device 2. The first video distribution device 1 can simultaneously distribute different content on multiple different platforms. For example, the first video distribution device 1 can distribute the main content on the first platform and distribute processed content including information related to the main content on the second platform via the second video distribution device 2. This allows the video distribution system S to encourage viewers on the second viewer terminal 5 who have viewed the processed content to view the main content on the first platform. In this way, the video distribution system S can create a path to attract viewers on the second viewer terminal 5 to the first platform. The first video distribution device 1 can help guide viewers who watch content on the second platform to the first platform. In this way, the first video distribution device 1 can help guide viewers from other distribution services to the first distribution service. Furthermore, the video distribution system S can attract viewers of the second viewer terminal 5 to the first platform while the main content is being distributed by simultaneously distributing processed content on the second platform. Therefore, the video distribution system S can help guide viewers of the second viewer terminal 5 to the first platform in real time.

[0093] The control unit 11 may also acquire comments input from the second viewer terminal 5 regarding the content distributed on the second platform. In this case, the control unit 11 may combine or superimpose the comments input from the first viewer terminal 4 and the second viewer terminal 5 regarding the main content. The control unit 11 may combine or superimpose the comments input from the first viewer terminal 4 and the second viewer terminal 5 regarding the main content in a distinguishable manner, such as by using different display modes. The first video distribution device 1 may distribute main content data including the comments input from the first viewer terminal 4 and the comments input from the second viewer terminal 5 to the first viewer terminal 4. The first video distribution device 1 may distribute data obtained by adding the comments input from the first viewer terminal 4 and the comments input from the second viewer terminal 5 regarding the main content to the first viewer terminal 4. The first video distribution device 1 may correct a delay between the comment and the main content distributed on the first platform and output the comment to the second video distribution device 2. The control unit 11 may combine or superimpose a comment input from the first viewer terminal 4 and a comment input from the second viewer terminal 5 on the processed content. The control unit 11 may combine or superimpose a comment input from the first viewer terminal 4 and a comment input from the second viewer terminal 5 on the processed content in a distinguishable manner, such as by differentiating the display manner of the comment input from the first viewer terminal 4 and the comment input from the second viewer terminal 5. The first video distribution device 1 may output the processed content including the comment to the second video distribution device 2. The first video distribution device 1 may output data in which the comment is added to the processed content data to the second video distribution device 2. The first video distribution device 1 may correct a delay between the comment and the main content distributed on the first platform and output the comment to the second video distribution device 2.

[0094] (Effects) As described above, according to this embodiment, a video distribution device acquires first content distributable on a first platform from a distributor terminal, generates second content different from the first content distributable on a second platform different from the first content based on the first content, and outputs the second content. For example, while distributing main content on the first platform, the video distribution device can distribute processed content generated based on the main content on the second platform via the second video distribution device. This allows the video distribution device to simultaneously distribute different content on multiple different platforms. This allows the video distribution device to effectively promote the main content to viewers who have viewed the processed content distributed on the second platform. For example, viewers who have viewed the processed content need to view content on the first platform in order to view the main content. Therefore, the video distribution device can create a lead to attract viewers who view the processed content on the second platform to the first platform. In this way, the video distribution device can help guide viewers who view content on the second platform to the first platform. In other words, the video distribution device can help guide viewers from other distribution services to the first distribution service.

[0095] According to this embodiment, the video distribution device generates second content when the distribution mode for distributing content on the second platform is a predetermined mode. For example, the video distribution device can determine whether to generate processed content depending on the distribution mode of the second platform. Therefore, the video distribution device generates processed content only when the distribution mode is a predetermined mode and distributes the generated processed content on the second platform via the second video distribution device. This allows the video distribution device to simultaneously distribute different content on multiple different platforms depending on the distribution mode. For example, the video distribution device distributes processed content via the second video distribution device 2 only in the restricted mode. Viewers who have viewed the processed content need to view content on the first platform in order to view the main content distributed in the restricted mode. In this way, the video distribution device can create a path to attract viewers who view processed content on the second platform to the first platform. The video distribution device can help guide viewers who view content on the second platform to the first platform depending on the distribution mode. In other words, the video distribution device can help guide viewers from other distribution services to the first distribution service.

[0096] According to this embodiment, in the video distribution device, the distribution mode for distributing content on the second platform is switched based on the operation of the distributor of the first content. For example, the distributor can change the distribution mode of the second platform while distributing the main content. The distributor can set the opening portion to unrestricted mode and the remaining portions to restricted mode. In this case, the video distribution device can make only the opening portion viewable on the second platform and the remaining portions viewable only on the first platform. Therefore, viewers who have viewed the opening portion on the second platform must view the content on the first platform to view the remaining portions. This allows the distributor to effectively select the timing for distributing the processed content on the second platform. In this way, the video distribution device can simultaneously distribute different content on multiple different platforms according to the distributor's selection, thereby helping to guide viewers viewing content on the second platform to the first platform. In other words, the video distribution device can help to guide viewers from other distribution services to the first distribution service.

[0097] According to this embodiment, the video distribution device switches the distribution mode for distributing content on the second platform based on the progress of the first content. For example, the video distribution device can change the distribution mode for the second platform at the beginning, climax, or other times based on the progress of the main content. In this case, the video distribution device can make only the beginning or climax available on the second platform, and the remaining times available only on the first platform. Therefore, viewers who have viewed the beginning or climax on the second platform must view the content on the first platform to view the remaining times. In this way, the video distribution device can simultaneously distribute different content on multiple platforms depending on the progress of the main content. The video distribution device can help guide viewers viewing content on the second platform to the first platform at a time when the viewer is likely to be interested, depending on the progress of the main content. In other words, the video distribution device can help guide viewers from other distribution services to the first distribution service at a time when the viewer is likely to be interested, depending on the progress of the main content.

[0098] According to this embodiment, the video distribution device generates second content that includes a portion of the first content. For example, viewers viewing content on the second platform can view a portion of the main content, such as the opening portion. Therefore, viewers viewing the processed content are more likely to become interested in the main content. This allows the video distribution device to effectively promote the main content to viewers viewing content on the second platform and create a path to draw viewers viewing the processed content on the second platform to the first platform. In this way, the video distribution device can effectively guide viewers viewing content on the second platform to the first platform. In other words, the video distribution device can effectively guide viewers from other distribution services to the first distribution service.

[0099] According to this embodiment, the video distribution device generates second content including information about the first content. For example, viewers viewing content on the second platform can obtain information about platforms on which the main content can be viewed, link information for viewing the main content, and the like. This makes it easier for viewers who have viewed the processed content to move to the second platform. In this way, the video distribution device can create a path to draw viewers viewing the processed content on the second platform to the first platform, thereby helping to effectively guide viewers viewing content on the second platform to the first platform. In other words, the video distribution device can effectively help to guide viewers from other distribution services to the first distribution service.

[0100] According to this embodiment, the video distribution device corrects the delay between the second content and the first content and outputs the second content. For example, the video distribution device can adjust the delay between the main content distributed on the first platform and the processed content distributed on the second platform, thereby adjusting the progress. By correcting the delay of content data distributed on different platforms and outputting the content data, the video distribution device can synchronize the progress of content across different platforms. Therefore, the video distribution device can prevent spoilers and other issues caused by discrepancies in the progress of content across multiple different platforms. This allows the video distribution device to effectively guide viewers viewing content on the second platform to the first platform. In other words, the video distribution device can effectively guide viewers from other distribution services to the first distribution service.
